0:00:03 > 0:00:04I'm Ricky,

0:00:04 > 0:00:05I live in Bristol.

0:00:05 > 0:00:07By day, I work as an animator,

0:00:07 > 0:00:10which is lucky cos I love art.

0:00:10 > 0:00:11I live for art.

0:00:11 > 0:00:13I even dream of art.

0:00:13 > 0:00:15I draw...

0:00:15 > 0:00:16..I paint...

0:00:18 > 0:00:19..I make things!

0:00:20 > 0:00:23I hang out with my mates,

0:00:23 > 0:00:26- Gavin, Michelle and Sarah. - SARAH SCREAMS

0:00:26 > 0:00:29Most importantly, I make ninja moves.

0:00:29 > 0:00:33- Some people call me the... - # Art Ninja. #

0:00:33 > 0:00:35Today, I'll show you how to make

0:00:35 > 0:00:39- an invisible dog collar... - INVISIBLE DOGS GROWL

0:00:39 > 0:00:41..turn your pets into people,

0:00:41 > 0:00:43and follow your nose on the streets

0:00:43 > 0:00:46by making sat nav art.

0:00:46 > 0:00:48Because today it's...

0:00:52 > 0:00:56DOG BARKS

0:00:56 > 0:00:59Who needs an alarm clock when you've got an alarm dog?

0:01:01 > 0:01:05It's certainly a new day and time to get my ninja on.

0:01:07 > 0:01:08And my clothes.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34- DOG BARKS - I wish I could have my own pet.

0:01:34 > 0:01:36I was never allowed animals as a kid.

0:01:36 > 0:01:38I'm not allowed animals in the flat now.

0:01:38 > 0:01:41Dad comes over and he's super allergic to everything.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44- HE SNEEZES - Makes me sad.

0:01:44 > 0:01:46I may not be allowed animals in the flat,

0:01:46 > 0:01:49but I could make my own fake Fido.

0:01:49 > 0:01:50# Art Ninja. #

0:01:50 > 0:01:54The Art Ninja fake Fido invisible dog collar!

0:01:55 > 0:01:58I've got some strips of cardboard down here.

0:01:58 > 0:02:00I'm going to use these to make a collar.

0:02:00 > 0:02:03So I need to roll them round a little bit.

0:02:03 > 0:02:05Good thing about using corrugated cardboard,

0:02:05 > 0:02:07is it makes a nice gradual curve.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11Going to sticky tape the two ends together.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16And now these strips, I'm going use to make the edges.

0:02:19 > 0:02:21Now they're all sticky, I'm going to start wrapping them

0:02:21 > 0:02:23around the top and the bottom of the collar.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26Any excess, just snip it off.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35This is the bare bones of the collar.

0:02:35 > 0:02:37I'm now going to cover it in a layer of paper mache.

0:02:38 > 0:02:40So I've got some PVA glue and water mix.

0:02:40 > 0:02:42Two parts glue, one part water.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44And I've got some white tissue paper here.

0:02:44 > 0:02:46It's just what I had lying around.

0:02:46 > 0:02:48It's quite light though and that'll come in handy later.

0:02:48 > 0:02:51You can just use plain old newspaper or scraps of paper.

0:02:54 > 0:02:55Now I'm using paper mache,

0:02:55 > 0:02:58because it makes it easier to paint on afterwards,

0:02:58 > 0:03:00and it gives it a nice smooth finish.

0:03:03 > 0:03:04With all this glue and paper on it,

0:03:04 > 0:03:06it does go quite floppy.

0:03:06 > 0:03:08But when it dries, it'll be rigid.

0:03:08 > 0:03:09So if you're doing this,

0:03:09 > 0:03:12you have to make sure it dries perfectly round and flat.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15But not me, I've got ninja skills!

0:03:15 > 0:03:17Ah, yeah.

0:03:17 > 0:03:18Nice and dry.

0:03:18 > 0:03:19Good bit of ninja-ing.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21Now I've got to paint it.

0:03:21 > 0:03:23I've got some pre-mixed purple paint here.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30If you're painting yours at home,

0:03:30 > 0:03:31make sure you put some newspaper down.

0:03:33 > 0:03:35A bit here and there.

0:03:35 > 0:03:38Right, well, do you want to watch paint dry?

0:03:38 > 0:03:39Ninja's don't.

0:03:40 > 0:03:42There we are.

0:03:42 > 0:03:43Perfect.

0:03:43 > 0:03:45Now I'm going to poke a couple of holes through it,

0:03:45 > 0:03:47cos we need to attach our lead later.

0:03:47 > 0:03:50And I'm going to do that with a bit of modelling clay behind it,

0:03:50 > 0:03:51and a sharp pencil.

0:03:51 > 0:03:53One hole...

0:03:53 > 0:03:54two holes.

0:03:55 > 0:03:58Now I'm going to give it a little bit of bling...

0:03:58 > 0:03:59..with some gold paint.

0:04:03 > 0:04:05Just taking my time here,

0:04:05 > 0:04:09cos I don't want to get any gold on this purple band here.

0:04:09 > 0:04:11My fake dog better like this!

0:04:14 > 0:04:15There we are.

0:04:15 > 0:04:18But what's a collar without a lead?

0:04:18 > 0:04:20I've got myself a length of garden wire.

0:04:22 > 0:04:24That's this thick green stuff.

0:04:24 > 0:04:26And this is good because it's quite malleable,

0:04:26 > 0:04:28you can bend it around, but it can hold some weight.

0:04:28 > 0:04:30And it needs to be able to hold the weight of the collar.

0:04:30 > 0:04:33Now we're going to slot it through those holes.

0:04:34 > 0:04:36And then go back through the other one.

0:04:39 > 0:04:42On the other side there, so twist them round one another.

0:04:43 > 0:04:45And be careful here, just to make

0:04:45 > 0:04:47sure you don't hurt your hands.

0:04:47 > 0:04:49OK, that's looking good.

0:04:49 > 0:04:50Now you need a handle,

0:04:50 > 0:04:52so I'm just going to loop over the end

0:04:52 > 0:04:54and twist that against itself as well.

0:04:56 > 0:04:58So that's the handle.

0:04:58 > 0:05:00But it could do with a couple of finishing touches.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03- Whoa, Fido! - INVISIBLE DOG BARKS AND GROWLS

0:05:03 > 0:05:05Must be a ninja dog.

0:05:05 > 0:05:07Look at those finishing touches.

0:05:07 > 0:05:10We've got these nice studs going round the band.

0:05:10 > 0:05:11We've got a little name badge there.

0:05:11 > 0:05:14'Mine's called Fido, but how about Petunia, Sausage...'

0:05:14 > 0:05:17Or any other lovely name.

0:05:17 > 0:05:20And then I've put some material around the wire,

0:05:20 > 0:05:22and that's just so it looks more like a lead.

0:05:22 > 0:05:24If you want a smaller, imaginary dog

0:05:24 > 0:05:25you can make one, like this.

0:05:30 > 0:05:32The fake Fido dog collar.

0:05:32 > 0:05:34Fetch the right materials and make one today.

0:05:36 > 0:05:39- INVISIBLE DOG BREAKS WIND - Eurgh!

0:05:39 > 0:05:40HE SNIFFS

0:05:40 > 0:05:43Left an imaginary present on the desk. Eurgh!

0:05:43 > 0:05:45I can always pretend it's not there.

0:05:45 > 0:05:47Come on, guys, walkies!

0:05:47 > 0:05:48Whoa!

0:05:50 > 0:05:53- Whoa. - INVISBLE DOG PANTS

0:05:53 > 0:05:56KNOCK AT DOOR

0:05:56 > 0:05:59- Oh, hey, Gavin, what's up? - Hey, dude!

0:05:59 > 0:06:00This is my dog.

0:06:02 > 0:06:04What's his name?

0:06:04 > 0:06:06- Dog.- Imaginative name.

0:06:06 > 0:06:09Yeah, listen, could you look after him while I pop out for a bit?

0:06:09 > 0:06:11- No Gav, Gav, no... - Thanks a lot, see you later!

0:06:11 > 0:06:14- My dad's allergic. - HE SNEEZES

0:06:14 > 0:06:15What am I going to do now?

0:06:15 > 0:06:18If my dad comes over, he'll sneeze the house down.

0:06:19 > 0:06:20Oh, well.

0:06:20 > 0:06:22Here you go, Dog,

0:06:22 > 0:06:23make yourself at home.

0:06:27 > 0:06:29Oh, I see you've found yourself a comfy spot, Dog.

0:06:30 > 0:06:33I'm sure that picture moves on its own.

0:06:33 > 0:06:35- It's almost as if it's animated. - BALL BOINGS

0:06:42 > 0:06:46- BALL BOINGS - Oh!

0:06:46 > 0:06:48Um...

0:06:48 > 0:06:51I'm a clay ninja, and that's because I know this awesome technique

0:06:51 > 0:06:53that'll put bounce into any animation.

0:06:53 > 0:06:56And it's called... # Dun-da-da-dun! #

0:06:56 > 0:06:58..squash and stretch.

0:06:58 > 0:07:00Here's how to work it in three ninja moves.

0:07:01 > 0:07:03Ninja move number one.

0:07:03 > 0:07:05It's time to do the squash.

0:07:05 > 0:07:10Now, I'm going be doing this with some clay and some wire.

0:07:10 > 0:07:12So let's put the ball up here.

0:07:12 > 0:07:14- CAMERA CLICKS - And then make it go down

0:07:14 > 0:07:16towards the table.

0:07:16 > 0:07:17'For each photo, paint out the wire

0:07:17 > 0:07:21'using free online photo manipulation software.'

0:07:21 > 0:07:23And then, when it gets close to the table,

0:07:23 > 0:07:24when it actually touches it,

0:07:24 > 0:07:27it needs to squash out to absorb the impact.

0:07:27 > 0:07:29So it gets really squashed like that.

0:07:29 > 0:07:31And the first movement should be a really big jump,

0:07:31 > 0:07:34so it should go from round to quite squashed,

0:07:34 > 0:07:36cos it feels more impactful

0:07:36 > 0:07:38and like it had more velocity.

0:07:38 > 0:07:40- There we go. - CAMERA CLICKS

0:07:40 > 0:07:43This is obviously the first part of squash and stretch.

0:07:43 > 0:07:44It's the squash.

0:07:44 > 0:07:45And then squash it a little bit more.

0:07:45 > 0:07:48- CAMERA CLICKS - And each time you squash it

0:07:48 > 0:07:49in this part of the animation,

0:07:49 > 0:07:51you squash it a little bit less each time.

0:07:51 > 0:07:52So the first one's a big impact

0:07:52 > 0:07:54and then a little bit more, a little bit more,

0:07:54 > 0:07:56so it's kind of easing into it.

0:07:56 > 0:07:58Ninja move number two.

0:07:58 > 0:07:59Now we need to do the stretch part.

0:07:59 > 0:08:02First of all, the ball needs to return to normal ball shape,

0:08:02 > 0:08:03so just roll it into a ball.

0:08:08 > 0:08:10- There we go. - CAMERA CLICKS

0:08:10 > 0:08:13And then it starts to go long, like a sausage,

0:08:13 > 0:08:15and that's because we're trying to give the idea

0:08:15 > 0:08:18that it's bouncing back away from the impact it just had.

0:08:18 > 0:08:21- CAMERA CLICKS - Bit more of a sausage.

0:08:21 > 0:08:23And it's first bounce has been quite aggressive.

0:08:23 > 0:08:25It's a big squash and a big stretch,

0:08:25 > 0:08:28cos it's fallen from the highest point.

0:08:28 > 0:08:29There we go.

0:08:29 > 0:08:32- CAMERA CLICKS - And as it raises up,

0:08:32 > 0:08:35it slowly starts to form back into its normal ball shape.,

0:08:35 > 0:08:37so less of a stretch now.

0:08:37 > 0:08:39- There we go. - CAMERA CLICKS

0:08:39 > 0:08:41And then when it gets to the highest point,

0:08:41 > 0:08:42back perfectly to a ball.

0:08:45 > 0:08:47CAMERA CLICKS

0:08:47 > 0:08:48Ninja move number three.

0:08:48 > 0:08:51So now we need to use our squash and stretch skills

0:08:51 > 0:08:52to move the ball.

0:08:52 > 0:08:55If we're going to have a ball bounce and then slowly come to a stop,

0:08:55 > 0:08:59we need to decrease the amount of squash and stretch on each bounce.

0:08:59 > 0:09:01This makes the whole thing look more real.

0:09:01 > 0:09:03Let's take a look at the ball in action.

0:09:03 > 0:09:07BALL BOINGS

0:09:07 > 0:09:09You can use squash and stretch on any animation

0:09:09 > 0:09:10and with any character.

0:09:10 > 0:09:13And it'll make your animations look totes profesh.

0:09:15 > 0:09:17DOLPHIN CALLS

0:09:17 > 0:09:19Wow.

0:09:19 > 0:09:20Show off.

0:09:25 > 0:09:28TELEPHONE RINGS

0:09:28 > 0:09:31ANSWERING MACHINE BEEP 'Hi, Ricky, it's mum!

0:09:31 > 0:09:34- 'I'm leaving you a message.' - Obviously.

0:09:34 > 0:09:36'Your dad's on his way over.

0:09:36 > 0:09:38'I've been dusting, so his allergies are bad.

0:09:38 > 0:09:41'He was hoping to come to you for a breath of fresh air.

0:09:41 > 0:09:43'Maybe while he's there you could do things like

0:09:43 > 0:09:46'turn your pet into a person,

0:09:46 > 0:09:49'give your tablet a terabyte with a shark cover

0:09:49 > 0:09:52'and use sat nav and your mate Gav

0:09:52 > 0:09:54'to make street art with a difference.

0:09:54 > 0:09:57'Anyway, when your dad is there be gentle with him.

0:09:57 > 0:09:59'You know how sensitive he is.' DAD SNEEZES IN BACKGROUND

0:09:59 > 0:10:02The only way this day could get any worse

0:10:02 > 0:10:04is if I had more pets to look after.

0:10:04 > 0:10:06- KNOCK AT DOOR - Eurgh.

0:10:08 > 0:10:09- Oh, hey, Sarah. - Hi, Ricky.

0:10:09 > 0:10:11Just wondered if you could look after Lola for me.

0:10:11 > 0:10:13I just need to nip out.

0:10:13 > 0:10:14It's a little inconvenient actually.

0:10:14 > 0:10:17My dad's coming over and she'll bring him out in hives.

0:10:17 > 0:10:19She's a dog, not a bee, Ricky. Thanks, bye.

0:10:23 > 0:10:25They say that pets look like their owners,

0:10:25 > 0:10:28and seeing as I've got Gav's and Sarah's dog here,

0:10:28 > 0:10:32I think I'm in a unique position to test out that theory.

0:10:32 > 0:10:36DOG BARKS

0:10:37 > 0:10:40DOG GROWLS

0:10:47 > 0:10:49So I've sent my pictures to my laptop.

0:10:49 > 0:10:51'Here's my chosen picture of Lola,

0:10:51 > 0:10:53'and I've also got one of Sarah.'

0:10:53 > 0:10:56And what I need to do to start with is get rid of Sarah's head,

0:10:56 > 0:10:58so I can put Lola's head on there.

0:10:58 > 0:11:00'I'm using a free photo manipulation tool.

0:11:00 > 0:11:02'There's plenty available online.'

0:11:02 > 0:11:05And I'm going to copy a bit of the background behind Sarah

0:11:05 > 0:11:06to paint out her head.

0:11:06 > 0:11:08'No offence, Sarah.'

0:11:08 > 0:11:10So I hold down control,

0:11:10 > 0:11:12then I click that part of the background there.

0:11:12 > 0:11:14And look, where I draw now,

0:11:14 > 0:11:15that bit will be copied to where I am.

0:11:16 > 0:11:18There we go. Bye, Sarah.

0:11:20 > 0:11:22Beautiful.

0:11:22 > 0:11:24Now I need to get Lola's head ready,

0:11:24 > 0:11:26so I'm going to use the lasso tool to crop it out.

0:11:26 > 0:11:31And the lasso tool is for selecting a specific area of your picture.

0:11:31 > 0:11:33These points represent the area

0:11:33 > 0:11:37that I'm going to copy from this picture to the other one.

0:11:37 > 0:11:38Top of her head.

0:11:42 > 0:11:43And now I'm going to copy Lola's head,

0:11:43 > 0:11:46so edit, copy.

0:11:46 > 0:11:47Go on to my picture of Sarah,

0:11:47 > 0:11:49and I'm going to paste it as a new layer.

0:11:51 > 0:11:53There we go.

0:11:53 > 0:11:55Move it around.

0:11:55 > 0:11:58And you need to resize it because it's a bit big at the moment.

0:11:58 > 0:12:00If I hold down control,

0:12:00 > 0:12:02I can make it a bit smaller.

0:12:03 > 0:12:07And then I'm going to drag it onto Sarah's body.

0:12:08 > 0:12:09Looking good, Sarah.

0:12:09 > 0:12:11Or, should I say, Lola.

0:12:13 > 0:12:15Now it's not fair to do this to Sarah

0:12:15 > 0:12:17and not do it to Gavin too.

0:12:17 > 0:12:19Luckily, I've got some pictures of Gavin as well.

0:12:19 > 0:12:22Bit of a poser, you know.

0:12:22 > 0:12:23That's Gavin, though.

0:12:24 > 0:12:26That's better, isn't it?

0:12:26 > 0:12:29And going to copy Dog's head.

0:12:29 > 0:12:32And let's pop that nice and snugly.

0:12:32 > 0:12:33There we go.

0:12:33 > 0:12:35Look at those guys.

0:12:35 > 0:12:37Yeah, these look pretty awesome.

0:12:39 > 0:12:40Hi, Ricky.

0:12:40 > 0:12:43Whoa, I don't remember making you.

0:12:43 > 0:12:44You do look cool, though.

0:12:44 > 0:12:48Actually, the name's Coolidge, Cassius Marcellus Coolidge.

0:12:48 > 0:12:51I'm an artist who does anthropomorphism.

0:12:51 > 0:12:53Wow, that's a mouthful.

0:12:53 > 0:12:56It means I paint pictures of animals doing human things,

0:12:56 > 0:12:59and I specialise in dogs playing cards.

0:12:59 > 0:13:01Here's one of mine now.

0:13:01 > 0:13:02Nice.

0:13:02 > 0:13:04You probably should've done crocodiles, though.

0:13:04 > 0:13:07- Why? - Oh...they're good at playing snap.

0:13:07 > 0:13:09Aww.

0:13:10 > 0:13:12Finally, just for a bit of fun,

0:13:12 > 0:13:14I'm going to anthopu...

0:13:14 > 0:13:16I'm going to than...

0:13:16 > 0:13:19I'm going to put my dad's head on a dog.

0:13:19 > 0:13:22It's a little bit harder when you haven't got a clean background.

0:13:22 > 0:13:24But I can probably get away with my dad's head being bigger,

0:13:24 > 0:13:27just due to the perspective.

0:13:27 > 0:13:30Wow, the beard's probably the same colour as the dog actually.

0:13:30 > 0:13:31Tie in really nicely.

0:13:36 > 0:13:38I'm really happy with that.

0:13:38 > 0:13:40For a start, it's well funny,

0:13:40 > 0:13:43and also, my dad's super allergic to animals,

0:13:43 > 0:13:45so this is the closet he's ever going to get to one.

0:13:45 > 0:13:48Until he comes round here, of course.

0:13:48 > 0:13:50- DAD SNEEZES - Woof, woof.

0:13:51 > 0:13:55Here's a quick art tip of how to draw a flock of birds.

0:13:55 > 0:13:59So, we're going to start with a big bird at the front.

0:13:59 > 0:14:02Its tail feathers.

0:14:02 > 0:14:03A nice big beak.

0:14:05 > 0:14:08I'm going to do it's wing back, mid flap.

0:14:11 > 0:14:13And its feet back too.

0:14:13 > 0:14:15Next we're going to draw another bird, top left.

0:14:15 > 0:14:18This one's going to be smaller as it's going to be in the distance.

0:14:18 > 0:14:22And I'm going to draw this one's wing down at the end of its flap.

0:14:27 > 0:14:30Drawing the wings in different places gives your flock

0:14:30 > 0:14:32a greater sense of movement.

0:14:32 > 0:14:34And, finally, I'm going to draw one more bird,

0:14:34 > 0:14:35between the two of them.

0:14:35 > 0:14:37So medium size.

0:14:37 > 0:14:39'And this one's wings are going to be at the top of it's body.

0:14:39 > 0:14:42'You can draw as many birds as you want.'

0:14:42 > 0:14:44Another one here.

0:14:45 > 0:14:48And then I'm going to add a couple of action lines.

0:14:48 > 0:14:51Just to make them look like they're drifting through the sky.

0:14:54 > 0:14:56There we go. A quick art tip.

0:15:07 > 0:15:09Ricky.

0:15:09 > 0:15:12Who needs pets when you've got so many Art Ninja apprentices.

0:15:12 > 0:15:14Can you make art with pegs?

0:15:14 > 0:15:17Hang on. I have to think about that one.

0:15:18 > 0:15:22Ricky, what can you make with this?

0:15:22 > 0:15:25- Hey, I choose you.- Yeah!- Yes!

0:15:25 > 0:15:29- So what's your names then? - Well, I'm William.- I'm Kieran.

0:15:29 > 0:15:31- And where you from?- Birmingham.

0:15:31 > 0:15:33Birmingham, nice one. So what have you got for me today?

0:15:33 > 0:15:37- A fleece blanket.- Whoa, it's pretty big and blue, like an ocean.

0:15:37 > 0:15:40Gives me an idea. In fact, I've got some fleece laying around.

0:15:40 > 0:15:41I'll just go and grab some.

0:15:41 > 0:15:44I've got some different shapes that I've cut out from an old fleece

0:15:44 > 0:15:46and a bit of felt.

0:15:46 > 0:15:49And I'm going to use them to make a protective case for a tablet

0:15:49 > 0:15:51that'll look like it's being eaten by a shark.

0:15:51 > 0:15:53I like to call it...a terabyte.

0:15:53 > 0:15:56Little computer joke for you there.

0:15:56 > 0:15:59'I've cut two pieces of material the same size as my tablet.

0:15:59 > 0:16:02'One rectangular and one with a curve in the end.

0:16:02 > 0:16:04'I'll sew these pieces together later.

0:16:04 > 0:16:07'Now, let's make it look like a shark.

0:16:07 > 0:16:10'I'm going to stick down the shark's belly, using fabric glue.'

0:16:13 > 0:16:14There's one, like that.

0:16:14 > 0:16:17And then I've got these fins for the side, and these two.

0:16:17 > 0:16:19Going to put these lighter bits of felt on.

0:16:19 > 0:16:22So do you guys have any pets or anything?

0:16:22 > 0:16:24I'm not saying that a shark's a good pet but...

0:16:24 > 0:16:27I've got a cat. His name's Erik.

0:16:27 > 0:16:28So why is he called Erik?

0:16:28 > 0:16:31Erik was a very popular Viking name.

0:16:31 > 0:16:33- Really?- Yeah. Erik the Red.

0:16:33 > 0:16:38- So is he a red cat?- He's ginger. - Oh, I see.

0:16:39 > 0:16:41- How are you, Kieran, do you have any pets?- No.

0:16:41 > 0:16:43- Would you like one?- Yeah.

0:16:43 > 0:16:46- What would you like?- Husky. - I really like huskies.

0:16:46 > 0:16:49OK, I'm just going to start gluing on the red bit for the mouth.

0:16:49 > 0:16:52I measured these against the flap at the top to make sure they fit.

0:16:52 > 0:16:55And the other bit's going to go there.

0:16:55 > 0:16:58- Do you guys like doing art? - Yeah, mostly drawing.

0:16:58 > 0:17:00What kind of things do you like to draw?

0:17:00 > 0:17:03Battle scenes, giants and stuff like that.

0:17:03 > 0:17:07- I like to draw a Viking. - Awesome.

0:17:07 > 0:17:08'A bit like Eric the Red?'

0:17:10 > 0:17:13Just going to stick some teeth on cos what's a shark without teeth?

0:17:17 > 0:17:19For the top layer of teeth -

0:17:19 > 0:17:21going to put the glue straight onto the mouth

0:17:21 > 0:17:23so I can get the teeth hanging over the edge nice.

0:17:23 > 0:17:25RICKY GROWLS

0:17:25 > 0:17:27So the mouth and that's looking pretty good.

0:17:27 > 0:17:29Think it's time to put on a face.

0:17:29 > 0:17:32I've cut out some different shapes here to make some eyes.

0:17:32 > 0:17:35I think this shark should be quite happy but maybe he's hungry?

0:17:35 > 0:17:38So he's got a mean face on so he can eat the tablet.

0:17:38 > 0:17:41Don't worry too much about getting the fabric glue everywhere,

0:17:41 > 0:17:43cos it will just dry out invisible.

0:17:43 > 0:17:44Now, I'm just going to put on some gills.

0:17:47 > 0:17:49Going to start sewing now.

0:17:49 > 0:17:53I've tied a knot in the end so that it won't go all the way through.

0:17:53 > 0:17:55I'm using blanket stitch.

0:17:55 > 0:17:57And you go round and you go over again.

0:17:57 > 0:17:58So you see we've gone back on ourselves,

0:17:58 > 0:18:00and back in the same way we did first time round.

0:18:02 > 0:18:05Then when you have this loop, put our needle back through.

0:18:05 > 0:18:08Pointing in the opposite way to the way we were stitching.

0:18:08 > 0:18:10And then we pull it tight.

0:18:10 > 0:18:12'I've also doubled up the thread

0:18:12 > 0:18:15'so it holds the case together nice and tightly.'

0:18:15 > 0:18:19Going to sew on these fins.

0:18:19 > 0:18:21- What are you into? - I like skateboarding.

0:18:21 > 0:18:23I love football.

0:18:23 > 0:18:25I've got the sticker album for the World Cup.

0:18:25 > 0:18:27I used to use them to make pictures out of,

0:18:27 > 0:18:30rather than actually put them in the album.

0:18:30 > 0:18:34I've put in some loops in the last stitch so I can tie it off.

0:18:34 > 0:18:36All that's left now is the dorsal fin.

0:18:36 > 0:18:38So I just stick that on the back.

0:18:40 > 0:18:43- OK guys, do you want to see it? - Yeah.- Right, here we go.

0:18:43 > 0:18:48- RICKY GROWLS Awesome!- Wicked!

0:18:50 > 0:18:53I think that is app-solutely brilliant.

0:18:53 > 0:18:55So guys, what would you give it out of ten?

0:18:55 > 0:18:57Four? Just four each?

0:18:57 > 0:19:00- BOTH:- No, it's 44!

0:19:00 > 0:19:0344? Out of ten? That's not even possible.

0:19:03 > 0:19:05What a great score.

0:19:05 > 0:19:07Thanks very much, guys, cheers for all your help.

0:19:07 > 0:19:10- Have a good day, yeah, bye-bye. - Bye.- Bye.

0:19:10 > 0:19:14Well, that's covered that one. You can make any animal.

0:19:14 > 0:19:15Let your imagination go wild.

0:19:18 > 0:19:20Hey, you there.

0:19:20 > 0:19:22This guy makes me sick.

0:19:22 > 0:19:25Ever wanted to make fake sick?

0:19:25 > 0:19:27- Seriously?- Seriously.

0:19:27 > 0:19:32You can produce puke without all that yucky muck.

0:19:33 > 0:19:38'Here's how you make it. First you need a bowl.

0:19:38 > 0:19:42'Two packets of soup - minestrone and chicken are good.

0:19:42 > 0:19:45'Pour the soup mixtures into the bowl.

0:19:45 > 0:19:47'Get a jug of water.

0:19:47 > 0:19:53'Pour a small amount into the bowl and stir, keeping the mixture thick.

0:19:53 > 0:19:58'Then you need to add a generous amount of PVA glue

0:19:58 > 0:20:00'to make it sticky.

0:20:00 > 0:20:03'Stir well with a spoon and add more water if necessary.'

0:20:06 > 0:20:10'Grab a piece of canvas or thick paper.

0:20:10 > 0:20:15'Pour the mixture onto the canvas and use the spoon

0:20:15 > 0:20:20'to spread the mixture around, to make a more splattered effect.

0:20:20 > 0:20:22'Leave it to dry overnight.'

0:20:23 > 0:20:26Fake sick, give it a whirl.

0:20:26 > 0:20:29So good, you'll hurl.

0:20:31 > 0:20:34Ha, that fake sick...is sick.

0:20:34 > 0:20:37- TEXT MESSAGE ALERT - Oh, that's Dad.

0:20:37 > 0:20:39He says he's going to be here in five minutes.

0:20:39 > 0:20:41He's going to be so allergic to these dogs,

0:20:41 > 0:20:44he's not going to know whether he's coming or going.

0:20:44 > 0:20:46- What am I going to do? - KNOCK AT DOOR

0:21:42 > 0:21:46Not again Ricky, not another one of your harebrained schemes?

0:21:46 > 0:21:50Yeah, not so much a harebrained scheme, as a dog-brained scheme.

0:21:50 > 0:21:54No Ricky, I can't do it. I'm very busy.

0:21:54 > 0:21:57Besides I'm probably nowhere near you.

0:22:13 > 0:22:14Never mind about that.

0:22:14 > 0:22:16Having these guys around has given me an idea

0:22:16 > 0:22:19to do a really big piece of canine inspired art.

0:22:19 > 0:22:22But first we'd better get our ninja on.

0:22:37 > 0:22:39How do you want me to help with the art, Ricky?

0:22:39 > 0:22:41Well, you've got a very important job.

0:22:41 > 0:22:44- You're going to hold on to these dogs here.- OK.

0:22:44 > 0:22:45And I'm going to get my phone out

0:22:45 > 0:22:48and open up my satellite navigation app.

0:22:48 > 0:22:50There's plenty of free versions of these things online

0:22:50 > 0:22:51that you can download.

0:22:51 > 0:22:54And now I'm going to see where this art leads.

0:22:54 > 0:22:57- I'll see you in a minute.- Hang on.

0:22:57 > 0:23:00I wanted you to look after my dog while I popped out.

0:23:18 > 0:23:19do some amazing art.

0:23:20 > 0:23:23Hey, Oscar. Hey, Sophia. Who are these guys?

0:23:29 > 0:23:30Cool, let's do it.

0:23:34 > 0:23:36I'm using a satellite navigation app to make a route

0:23:36 > 0:23:39that will also become the outline to a massive picture.

0:23:39 > 0:23:41- What's the picture going to be? - I'll give you a clue.

0:23:41 > 0:23:45It's going to be all over Bristol, or should I say all rover Bristol.

0:26:27 > 0:26:30Their owners came and took them away. It's just me and my dog.

0:26:30 > 0:26:33He's been running rings around me though, literally.

0:26:44 > 0:26:47We need to do this bit with...Dog.

0:26:55 > 0:26:58cos you've just helped me make a piece of art with a difference.

0:26:58 > 0:27:01Drawn on an incredible dog walk.

0:27:04 > 0:27:07DOG BARKS

0:27:17 > 0:27:20Today has taught me a valuable Art Ninja lesson.

0:27:20 > 0:27:24If you're doing doggy art on the street, you'll need a sat nav,

0:27:24 > 0:27:26mates and trainers on your feet.

0:27:26 > 0:27:29This has definitely been an unlikely tail.

0:27:31 > 0:27:34DOG BARKS
