0:00:03 > 0:00:07I'm Ricky, I live in Bristol. By day I work as an animator,

0:00:07 > 0:00:10which is lucky because I love art.

0:00:10 > 0:00:13I live for art, I even dream of art.

0:00:13 > 0:00:15I draw...

0:00:15 > 0:00:16I paint...

0:00:18 > 0:00:19..I make things.

0:00:21 > 0:00:26I hang out with my mates, Gavin, Michelle and Sarah.

0:00:26 > 0:00:29Most importantly, I make ninja moves.

0:00:29 > 0:00:31Some people call me the...

0:00:31 > 0:00:34Art Ninja.

0:00:34 > 0:00:38Today, I'll show you how to make a great cloud hat for wearing

0:00:38 > 0:00:39whatever the weather,

0:00:39 > 0:00:42paint and play with spray

0:00:42 > 0:00:44and I'll be creating unforgettable art

0:00:44 > 0:00:49with a hose because today it's...

0:00:53 > 0:00:55ALARM BEEPS

0:00:55 > 0:00:59It's a new day and it's time to get my ninja on...

0:01:00 > 0:01:03..and my clothes.

0:01:03 > 0:01:04Hiya!

0:01:27 > 0:01:28Oh, what?

0:01:29 > 0:01:31Rain?

0:01:31 > 0:01:32Oh...

0:01:35 > 0:01:36Even my water's cloudy!

0:01:36 > 0:01:40I'd best do some art that I've saved for a rainy day.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42The sun certainly doesn't have his cap on today.

0:01:42 > 0:01:47I think I need to make some headwear that's more weather appropriate.

0:01:47 > 0:01:49The Art Ninja Whatever The Weather Hat -

0:01:49 > 0:01:53even if there's a cold front, you'll keep a warm head.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56So, I've got a nice bit of corrugated cardboard here.

0:01:56 > 0:01:57How big do I need to be?

0:01:59 > 0:02:01OK, about...

0:02:02 > 0:02:05..there, so I'm just going to sticky-tape that together.

0:02:05 > 0:02:09Now because it's corrugated cardboard, it's got all these lines

0:02:09 > 0:02:13that I can make creases along. It gets it much more circular.

0:02:13 > 0:02:17There we are, I'm going to cut some slits into the top, about two

0:02:17 > 0:02:20and a half centimetres deep, all the way around.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26There we are. And then I'm just going to fold these out and these

0:02:26 > 0:02:31are going to create a nice surface area to glue our next section on to.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34Speaking of which, I've got some balloons here

0:02:34 > 0:02:36and I'm going to blow them up into various sizes.

0:02:39 > 0:02:40A little bit smaller.

0:02:40 > 0:02:42I'm using white balloons for a reason,

0:02:42 > 0:02:45as they're going to make up the structure of a cloud.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50Cool, now I'm going to sticky-tape these balloons together.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53I'm going to roll the tape round back on itself.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56I'm going to try and make them form a nice kind of cloud shape.

0:02:56 > 0:03:00Which is easy, because clouds are so random.

0:03:02 > 0:03:04I'm using eight balloons which I'd say

0:03:04 > 0:03:06is the minimum amount for a cloud.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09There we are. That's pretty cloudy already, isn't it?

0:03:09 > 0:03:11Now I need to attach it to my hat.

0:03:14 > 0:03:15The last one.

0:03:17 > 0:03:20There we go, a pretty good start.

0:03:20 > 0:03:22Now I'm going to give it a layer of papier-mache

0:03:22 > 0:03:25and some cotton wool at the same time.

0:03:25 > 0:03:27I've got a bowl here to hold it still

0:03:27 > 0:03:29because otherwise it gets a bit messy.

0:03:29 > 0:03:31So if you're doing this at home,

0:03:31 > 0:03:33I do recommend putting some newspaper down.

0:03:33 > 0:03:35I've got some papier-mache mixture here which is two parts glue

0:03:35 > 0:03:37and one part water.

0:03:37 > 0:03:40I'm just going to start layering it onto the balloons.

0:03:43 > 0:03:46I'm using kitchen towel because it's white and it's quite light

0:03:46 > 0:03:49and we're not going to be painting these balloons,

0:03:49 > 0:03:51so we want it to stay as white as possible.

0:03:51 > 0:03:54You could use tissue or white paper.

0:03:57 > 0:04:00So, on top of all this kitchen towel,

0:04:00 > 0:04:03I'm also going to be putting some cotton wool.

0:04:03 > 0:04:06I'm just going to break it up like this into nice bits.

0:04:11 > 0:04:13OK, it's looking pretty good.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16Now I just need to do the crown part.

0:04:16 > 0:04:19Just go round into the inside as well,

0:04:19 > 0:04:22making it nice and soft for my head.

0:04:22 > 0:04:24And some more cotton wool.

0:04:24 > 0:04:26Looking pretty good, good coverage.

0:04:26 > 0:04:29Now, the next stage is to wait for it to dry

0:04:29 > 0:04:32and I forecast that will take about a second because I'm a ninja.

0:04:32 > 0:04:34Hoi!

0:04:34 > 0:04:37It's dried nice and rigid and it looks like a lovely, fluffy

0:04:37 > 0:04:40white cloud. But we all know weather's a little bit more

0:04:40 > 0:04:43dynamic than that, so I've cut out some weather symbols here

0:04:43 > 0:04:45and I'm going to attach them with Velcro

0:04:45 > 0:04:47which you can get from the supermarket.

0:04:47 > 0:04:50So, I'm going to put a lightning bolt up here...

0:04:52 > 0:04:54..and let's have the other end coming out maybe there.

0:04:54 > 0:04:57And unfortunately it does always rain,

0:04:57 > 0:04:59so let's put a bit of rain down there

0:04:59 > 0:05:05and just for my own sanity, hopefully, the sun will come out.

0:05:05 > 0:05:06There we go, time to try it on.

0:05:09 > 0:05:11Ah, yeah!

0:05:19 > 0:05:22My hair always goes frizzy when it rains.

0:05:22 > 0:05:24The Whatever The Weather Hat.

0:05:24 > 0:05:26Try making it to brighten up a grey day.

0:05:28 > 0:05:32Here's a real quick art tip - how to make a character look soaking wet,

0:05:32 > 0:05:34like I would be if I was outside right now.

0:05:34 > 0:05:38So I'm going to start by drawing my character, a head here,

0:05:38 > 0:05:39put a T-shirt on him.

0:05:43 > 0:05:44A pair of shorts.

0:05:50 > 0:05:53Now, I'm going to make him look really miserable

0:05:53 > 0:05:55because he's soaking wet.

0:05:55 > 0:05:57And on his hair, I'm going to draw a wiggly line to make it

0:05:57 > 0:05:59look like it's all stuck to his head and soaked.

0:05:59 > 0:06:02Above him I'll draw a rain cloud...

0:06:04 > 0:06:06..then some drops of water coming out of it.

0:06:08 > 0:06:11Some of them I'm going to draw closer to him

0:06:11 > 0:06:13to give the impression that he's dripping wet.

0:06:15 > 0:06:18Now I'm going to add some lines to the top of his T-shirt.

0:06:18 > 0:06:21This could be where the water has kind of soaked in

0:06:21 > 0:06:23and then underneath him I'm going to draw a puddle.

0:06:27 > 0:06:31Another couple of lines here because water's quite reflective,

0:06:31 > 0:06:32a few more drops.

0:06:34 > 0:06:36There we go.

0:06:38 > 0:06:39A quick art tip.

0:06:40 > 0:06:43Don't be wet, have a go at it yourself.

0:06:46 > 0:06:50Oh, that reminds me - I need to water the tufty heads.

0:06:50 > 0:06:51Art Ninja!

0:06:53 > 0:06:56There you are, my tufty heads.

0:06:56 > 0:06:59I remember when these guys were just knee-high to a grasshopper.

0:06:59 > 0:07:01Do you know what? I'll show you how to make your own.

0:07:04 > 0:07:08I think I've got everything I need - I've got my soil, grass seeds,

0:07:08 > 0:07:11yogurt pot and tights and some water.

0:07:11 > 0:07:14OK, so a tufty head is basically some seeds

0:07:14 > 0:07:17and soil in the ends of some old tights.

0:07:17 > 0:07:20Ask your mum, sister or auntie but please ask,

0:07:20 > 0:07:22or you and me could both be in trouble.

0:07:22 > 0:07:26I'm going to use a mug like that, hold it open nicely,

0:07:26 > 0:07:28then you can put in some seeds.

0:07:28 > 0:07:33Now quite a generous portion, I'd say just over a teaspoon,

0:07:33 > 0:07:35because they're going to grow the hair of the tufty head.

0:07:35 > 0:07:38So just throw them in like that.

0:07:38 > 0:07:42All right. Then quite a generous amount of soil.

0:07:42 > 0:07:46Make sure it's nicely full, push it down.

0:07:47 > 0:07:50OK. Then slide it off, but make sure it all

0:07:50 > 0:07:55goes down to the bottom - a nice big ball like that - and tie

0:07:55 > 0:08:00a knot in the end of the tights to keep all the soil in place, like so.

0:08:02 > 0:08:06Get your yogurt pot and fill it with water about a third of the way up.

0:08:07 > 0:08:09Nice.

0:08:09 > 0:08:14And then knot first, put your tights full of soil into it

0:08:14 > 0:08:17so all the seeds are at the top and the water will start to soak

0:08:17 > 0:08:20its way up the tights, through the soil and feed the seeds at the top.

0:08:20 > 0:08:23And after about two weeks watering it every day,

0:08:23 > 0:08:24left in a sunny place...

0:08:24 > 0:08:26it'll look like this.

0:08:26 > 0:08:29It looks good and green but lacks character.

0:08:29 > 0:08:31But we'll soon fix that.

0:08:31 > 0:08:35You need to get some card and start drawing some eyes and a mouth.

0:08:41 > 0:08:42Cool.

0:08:42 > 0:08:45Once you've cut them out, you just stick them to your tufty head.

0:08:45 > 0:08:47I'm using some Sticky Tack...

0:08:49 > 0:08:50..on the back there.

0:08:55 > 0:08:59Oh, yeah! He looks awesome, doesn't he?

0:08:59 > 0:09:02Right, let's get him back up on that window sill.

0:09:03 > 0:09:05All they need now is sunshine,

0:09:05 > 0:09:07but there's none of that happening around here today.

0:09:09 > 0:09:11I'm sure that picture moves on its own,

0:09:11 > 0:09:14it's almost as if it's animated.

0:09:16 > 0:09:18Ahhh!

0:09:20 > 0:09:23Ahhh!

0:09:25 > 0:09:27- Wah...- What is it, mate?

0:09:27 > 0:09:30I just had the worst nightmare about having my hair cut.

0:09:30 > 0:09:32Hey, shush now, you two.

0:09:33 > 0:09:36These guys need to learn how to control their mouths.

0:09:36 > 0:09:37Well, maybe I should.

0:09:37 > 0:09:40I'm going to show you how to make your tufty heads talk

0:09:40 > 0:09:42with this awesome lip-sync animation.

0:09:42 > 0:09:45All you're going to need is some pens, some thick paper,

0:09:45 > 0:09:47some scissors, some sticky tack, a mirror

0:09:47 > 0:09:49and something to shoot your animation on.

0:09:49 > 0:09:51You can either use a tablet with an animation app or a camera

0:09:51 > 0:09:53and something to record your sound with,

0:09:53 > 0:09:56and you can make the animation in just three ninja moves.

0:09:56 > 0:09:59Ninja move number one.

0:09:59 > 0:10:01You need to record the dialogue for these guys to talk,

0:10:01 > 0:10:05- so I'm going to do that on a smartphone.- Wah...- What is it, mate?

0:10:05 > 0:10:08And as the voice speaks, I'm going to change the mouth shape

0:10:08 > 0:10:11to match what's being said. Now I need to make my mouths.

0:10:11 > 0:10:13Ninja move number two.

0:10:13 > 0:10:16If you're wondering what mouth shape you need for a certain sound, grab

0:10:16 > 0:10:20the mirror and slowly say the word so you can spot what shape you need.

0:10:20 > 0:10:22Ooh.

0:10:22 > 0:10:24I might do it to the side because a straight on one

0:10:24 > 0:10:26may not read as well.

0:10:26 > 0:10:28Ooh, ah, ah.

0:10:28 > 0:10:30I just had a nightmare.

0:10:30 > 0:10:33There you go. A medium open mouth, maybe.

0:10:33 > 0:10:35Now I need to cut them out.

0:10:35 > 0:10:37I think it's good to keep it simple to begin with and as you get

0:10:37 > 0:10:40better at lip-syncing, then start adding in some more mouth shapes.

0:10:45 > 0:10:48So now I have all my mouth shapes.

0:10:48 > 0:10:50Ninja move number three.

0:10:50 > 0:10:51It's time to shoot the animation.

0:10:51 > 0:10:54You can stick the mouth shapes to your tufty head using

0:10:54 > 0:10:56a bit of Sticky Tack. I've put my sound recording

0:10:56 > 0:10:59up on my computer so I can see it and so I can listen to it.

0:10:59 > 0:11:02"Wah, what is it mate? I just had the..."

0:11:02 > 0:11:05Perfect. And now I'm going to set up my camera and start shooting.

0:11:05 > 0:11:07I'm just going to use this shoebox as a little stand for it

0:11:07 > 0:11:08and find the first frame.

0:11:11 > 0:11:14Argh... This might take some time, so time lapse.

0:11:16 > 0:11:19Each time I replace a mouth on the tufty heads

0:11:19 > 0:11:22I take a new picture so that when I edit the pictures together,

0:11:22 > 0:11:24it'll make it appear like they are talking.

0:11:27 > 0:11:29OK, tufty heads, I think that's enough chatter.

0:11:29 > 0:11:32It's time to take a look at our mini masterpiece.

0:11:37 > 0:11:40Ahhh!

0:11:40 > 0:11:42Ahhh!

0:11:45 > 0:11:47- Wah...- What is it, mate?

0:11:47 > 0:11:50I just had the worst nightmare about having my hair cut.

0:11:50 > 0:11:54Tell me about it! Your haircut gives me loads of nightmares.

0:11:54 > 0:11:57There you go. Try making your tufty heads talk

0:11:57 > 0:12:01and remember, there's loads of great animation apps to help you.

0:12:01 > 0:12:02Art Ninja!

0:12:05 > 0:12:06The weather must be better by now.

0:12:06 > 0:12:09I'd love to get out and do some painting.

0:12:09 > 0:12:12RAINDROPS FALL

0:12:12 > 0:12:15Wow, it's persistently raining out there.

0:12:15 > 0:12:19That kind of thing didn't put of famous artist J M W Turner though.

0:12:19 > 0:12:24In fact, I think I'll do some Turner-inspired art using wet paper.

0:12:24 > 0:12:26Whoa, who are you?

0:12:26 > 0:12:32I'm famous British painter Turner. J M W Turner, to be precise.

0:12:32 > 0:12:35I was a landscape painter who often captured the energy

0:12:35 > 0:12:37and power of the sea and the weather.

0:12:37 > 0:12:40Here's one of my best-known paintings.

0:12:40 > 0:12:42I once tied myself to the mast of a ship

0:12:42 > 0:12:44so that I could paint up a storm.

0:12:44 > 0:12:47Dude, you don't need to tie yourself to a ship!

0:12:47 > 0:12:50You just have to put your painting the rain, I'll show you.

0:12:50 > 0:12:52See you later.

0:12:52 > 0:12:56I've got some dark paper here, some nice primary colours,

0:12:56 > 0:12:57a bit of black and white as well.

0:12:57 > 0:13:00The first thing I'm going to do is give the paper

0:13:00 > 0:13:01a good spray with some water

0:13:01 > 0:13:04because that will give the painting a nice rainy effect.

0:13:04 > 0:13:07And I'm going to paint a picture of a busy road at night.

0:13:07 > 0:13:10I'm going to start by painting some cars with some blue,

0:13:10 > 0:13:13adding a little bit of white to it to lighten it up.

0:13:17 > 0:13:18To the roof.

0:13:20 > 0:13:23Now, the paint that I'm using is acrylic paint,

0:13:23 > 0:13:26and that's because it sticks to wet paper better.

0:13:26 > 0:13:28But you can also use poster paint.

0:13:28 > 0:13:30Another car next to it.

0:13:34 > 0:13:37Look how the paint runs into the water like that,

0:13:37 > 0:13:39it makes it feel like it's raining.

0:13:39 > 0:13:41So the roads. We've got to have some colour

0:13:41 > 0:13:43coming from the other direction as well.

0:13:46 > 0:13:49I'm going to add a little bit of black in, just to put some detail

0:13:49 > 0:13:53back into the cars and give it some windows and some tyres.

0:13:53 > 0:13:57You don't have to be a professional painter for this technique to work.

0:14:04 > 0:14:08If it starts to dry as you're painting it, just add a little bit

0:14:08 > 0:14:12more water to keep it all nice and moist.

0:14:12 > 0:14:14It all adds to the effect.

0:14:14 > 0:14:17As the cars start to go off into the distance,

0:14:17 > 0:14:20you don't need to paint as much detail.

0:14:20 > 0:14:23For the number plates with a bit of yellow. Yeah.

0:14:29 > 0:14:32Now I'm going to do the street lamps with a bit of yellow

0:14:32 > 0:14:35and a bit of white round the edges to give them that glow.

0:14:41 > 0:14:42Some red for the back lights.

0:14:47 > 0:14:49I'm just sort of dabbing it on to get a kind of

0:14:49 > 0:14:52nice blurred, watery effect.

0:14:52 > 0:14:54I need a bit more water, actually.

0:14:56 > 0:14:58And a bit of white for that car that's coming

0:14:58 > 0:15:00in the other direction.

0:15:00 > 0:15:03And of course we're going to need some reflections,

0:15:03 > 0:15:06because there's water on the road, look at that,

0:15:06 > 0:15:08all flowing through the water.

0:15:08 > 0:15:09Lovely.

0:15:09 > 0:15:13I'm just picking it up in the lamps to give it a nice glow.

0:15:17 > 0:15:19And then the reflections of those back lights.

0:15:25 > 0:15:28Now we could do with a little bit of black going back in

0:15:28 > 0:15:30to pull them out from the dark background.

0:15:33 > 0:15:36Spray. All it needs now is a frame.

0:15:39 > 0:15:40Look at that.

0:15:40 > 0:15:42A Turner-style water picture.

0:15:42 > 0:15:44Go on, now it's your turn to try it.

0:15:46 > 0:15:49- PHONE RINGS - Oh, my hands are all messy.

0:15:49 > 0:15:52I'll have to let the answer phone get it.

0:15:52 > 0:15:54Hi, Ricky, it's your mum.

0:15:54 > 0:15:57Your dad is absolutely bursting...

0:15:57 > 0:16:00with pride about what a great artist you've become.

0:16:00 > 0:16:03He's especially proud of what you've got coming up.

0:16:03 > 0:16:06You'll do some art on the fly, you'll relax while watching how

0:16:06 > 0:16:11to make the Do Not Stress Ball and who knows what you'll do with a hose?

0:16:11 > 0:16:12Bye!

0:16:12 > 0:16:14Well, that was enlightening.

0:16:15 > 0:16:18I wish that rain would stop, I'd love to get out.

0:16:18 > 0:16:19Ricky!

0:16:19 > 0:16:22I'm not going anywhere with these pesky ninja assistants.

0:16:22 > 0:16:23What can I help you with?

0:16:23 > 0:16:25Ricky, what can we make with elastic bands?

0:16:25 > 0:16:27Elastic bands? Bit of a stretch,

0:16:27 > 0:16:31- maybe I can be more flexible next time.- Oh....

0:16:31 > 0:16:34Ah, this looks interesting. I pick you.

0:16:34 > 0:16:35Yay!

0:16:35 > 0:16:38- So what's your name? - I'm Maisie and I'm from Liverpool.

0:16:38 > 0:16:42Liverpool, lovely. And what have you got for me today?

0:16:42 > 0:16:44Can you make art with a milk bottle?

0:16:44 > 0:16:47I can do better than that, I can make an amazing sun catcher.

0:16:47 > 0:16:49I'll just get my stuff.

0:16:49 > 0:16:51OK, I've got myself some pens, a pair of scissors

0:16:51 > 0:16:54and a milk bottle and some double-sided sticky tape

0:16:54 > 0:16:56and I'm going to cut out the handle

0:16:56 > 0:16:59because that's the hardest bit to do anything with.

0:16:59 > 0:17:00Careful while cutting it out

0:17:00 > 0:17:03because some of the plastic is thicker than the other parts.

0:17:03 > 0:17:06There we go, cut along this line that the milk bottle has

0:17:06 > 0:17:09to create two halves, but still being careful.

0:17:11 > 0:17:13And the bottom.

0:17:13 > 0:17:14It's raining here at the moment.

0:17:14 > 0:17:16What do you like to do on a rainy day?

0:17:16 > 0:17:19Sit in and like make jewellery and stuff like that.

0:17:19 > 0:17:21Very arty.

0:17:21 > 0:17:24After this, you could make a milk bottle sun catcher.

0:17:24 > 0:17:25This side I'm going to draw a splat.

0:17:25 > 0:17:27Why are you drawing a splat?

0:17:27 > 0:17:29You'll just have to wait and see, won't you?

0:17:29 > 0:17:31And a couple of drops.

0:17:33 > 0:17:37And on the other side I'm going to draw a little fly. Here's his eyes.

0:17:40 > 0:17:43He's got his tongue sticking out and a big grin on his face.

0:17:43 > 0:17:47I'm going to draw him some wings, separately so I can put them

0:17:47 > 0:17:48where I want later.

0:17:49 > 0:17:52I'm just colouring in the fly's body now.

0:17:52 > 0:17:56- What colour?- He's a black fly but I'm going to do his tongue red,

0:17:56 > 0:17:58so there will be some colour in there.

0:17:58 > 0:18:02I'm going to colour in the splat green and the pens that I'm using

0:18:02 > 0:18:05are just normal felt tips, a couple of them are permanent pens.

0:18:05 > 0:18:07I'd recommend having a go with a few pens

0:18:07 > 0:18:09and seeing what writes on it best.

0:18:09 > 0:18:11- What colour would you paint your fly?- Blue.

0:18:11 > 0:18:13- Like a bluebottle?- Yeah.

0:18:13 > 0:18:15Good idea. What's your favourite colour?

0:18:15 > 0:18:17- Pink.- Pink is a good colour.

0:18:17 > 0:18:19What's your favourite colour?

0:18:19 > 0:18:23My favourite colour is yellow. In fact, save the best till last.

0:18:23 > 0:18:24Here we go.

0:18:24 > 0:18:26You could use pink, Maisie.

0:18:26 > 0:18:28I'm going to cut that out.

0:18:28 > 0:18:31I'm cutting the edge first to get to the flat bit easier.

0:18:33 > 0:18:35So it's not just a drawing, it's also a sun catcher,

0:18:35 > 0:18:37so we're going to stick these bits to the window

0:18:37 > 0:18:41and when the sun goes through it'll make it look bright and colourful.

0:18:41 > 0:18:42That's amazing.

0:18:42 > 0:18:45So what's your favourite insect then, Maisie?

0:18:45 > 0:18:47- A butterfly. - I like butterflies.

0:18:47 > 0:18:50Do you think you'll use your milk bottle to make a sun catcher?

0:18:50 > 0:18:53- Yeah.- You could make a butterfly one. - Yay!

0:18:53 > 0:18:55I'm hoping that my sun catcher will make the sun come out.

0:18:55 > 0:18:57Is it sunny up there?

0:18:57 > 0:18:58Yes.

0:18:58 > 0:19:01There we go, and I'm going to attach the wings to him

0:19:01 > 0:19:02with some double-sided sticky tape.

0:19:05 > 0:19:09And because he's been splattered, I might hold off on the other one.

0:19:09 > 0:19:11So I can stick the fly on the window,

0:19:11 > 0:19:15I'm putting tape on the back of it and some tape on the splats.

0:19:15 > 0:19:18How long have you being doing art for, Ricky?

0:19:18 > 0:19:19Oh, a long, long time.

0:19:19 > 0:19:22I've had a passion for it ever since I was young.

0:19:22 > 0:19:24It does take a long time to master all the arts

0:19:24 > 0:19:28and become an Art Ninja - maybe 300, 400 years.

0:19:29 > 0:19:31OK, are you ready for the reveal?

0:19:31 > 0:19:33- Yeah.- Here we go.

0:19:33 > 0:19:35So what do you think?

0:19:35 > 0:19:37Wow, that's amazing.

0:19:37 > 0:19:39- Do you think you'll make one? - Yeah.

0:19:39 > 0:19:42Wow, look at that. A fly sun catcher.

0:19:42 > 0:19:44So what would you give it out of ten?

0:19:44 > 0:19:46A sunny seven out of ten.

0:19:46 > 0:19:49Oh, that's not bad. Thanks very much, Maisie, bye-bye.

0:19:49 > 0:19:51Bye.

0:19:51 > 0:19:53There's no need to waste any part of a milk bottle,

0:19:53 > 0:19:56even the lid can be an important part of an artist's kit.

0:19:56 > 0:19:57A couple of extra ones here.

0:20:22 > 0:20:25See? You really can do art everywhere.

0:20:31 > 0:20:35The weather's still bad, I'm feeling stressed.

0:20:35 > 0:20:37Hey, you there!

0:20:37 > 0:20:39Oh, and this guy, he's so annoying.

0:20:39 > 0:20:42Feeling stressed?

0:20:42 > 0:20:44Funny you should say that.

0:20:44 > 0:20:49You need the Do Not Stress Ball to squeeze your troubled mind.

0:20:53 > 0:20:55I feel so relaxed.

0:20:55 > 0:20:58Here's how you make it.

0:20:58 > 0:21:00You need some clingfilm...

0:21:02 > 0:21:03..half a cup of rice...

0:21:05 > 0:21:09..then pour it into the clingfilm and wrap it up nice and tight.

0:21:12 > 0:21:14Voila.

0:21:14 > 0:21:17Now you need two different coloured balloons...

0:21:19 > 0:21:21..and some scissors.

0:21:21 > 0:21:24Cut off the open ends of each balloon.

0:21:29 > 0:21:30Snippy.

0:21:31 > 0:21:34Stretch one balloon over the top

0:21:34 > 0:21:38and pull it all around until the rice is nearly covered.

0:21:41 > 0:21:44With the rice end facing up, take the other balloon

0:21:44 > 0:21:46and stretch it over the top.

0:21:53 > 0:21:56Now you need a black and a white marker pen.

0:21:57 > 0:22:02Use these to draw an interesting face on your ball.

0:22:02 > 0:22:06Here's one amusing example of what you could do, ha-ha!

0:22:08 > 0:22:09The Do Not Stress Ball.

0:22:09 > 0:22:12I want one. I need one now!

0:22:12 > 0:22:14Where do I get one?

0:22:14 > 0:22:16Not available in the shops...

0:22:16 > 0:22:19or anywhere. Ha-ha-ha!

0:22:19 > 0:22:21Argh...

0:22:23 > 0:22:25Wow, do you hear that?

0:22:25 > 0:22:27SILENCE

0:22:27 > 0:22:29Silence. It's stopped raining!

0:22:29 > 0:22:31I'm going to get out while the going's good.

0:22:34 > 0:22:36Gavin, what are you doing?

0:22:36 > 0:22:40Sorry, mate, I thought as it's sunny outside I'd get out and water all

0:22:40 > 0:22:43the hanging baskets in the block. It turns out there's quite a lot.

0:22:43 > 0:22:47So you're telling me I've been stuck in all day

0:22:47 > 0:22:49and it hasn't even been raining?

0:22:49 > 0:22:50Erm, yeah.

0:22:50 > 0:22:52Ahhh!

0:22:52 > 0:22:55THE SCREAM ECHOES

0:22:57 > 0:22:58Are you all right, mate?

0:22:58 > 0:23:00Yeah, I'm OK now.

0:23:00 > 0:23:03Now this has given me an idea for some art.

0:23:03 > 0:23:06You take that hose and I'll meet you at the warehouse in a bit.

0:23:22 > 0:23:24I will defeat you, monkey serpents!

0:23:33 > 0:23:36Oh, Gavin, pull yourself together!

0:23:36 > 0:23:38Ninja skills.

0:23:39 > 0:23:43Oh, Gavin, we need that hose for art purposes, my friend.

0:23:51 > 0:23:53BOTH: Art Ninja?

0:23:53 > 0:23:54Strike a pose.

0:23:59 > 0:24:01Great, Ricky, it's a wall.

0:24:01 > 0:24:04That's right. But where you guys see just a wall,

0:24:04 > 0:24:07an Art Ninja sees a canvas.

0:24:07 > 0:24:10And anyway, I'll be directing you guys

0:24:10 > 0:24:12and you'll be doing all the work.

0:24:14 > 0:24:16OK, kids, you know the drill -

0:24:16 > 0:24:19don't use drills without an adult.

0:24:19 > 0:24:24OK, guys, this is all about placing the pins in the perfect positions.

0:24:24 > 0:24:26Start feeding the pipe through.

0:24:27 > 0:24:32That's it, clip that one in, just slide it through a little bit.

0:24:32 > 0:24:34Yeah, just bend it round that one.

0:24:36 > 0:24:39That's perfect, yeah. OK, Sarah, move across a little bit.

0:24:41 > 0:24:43Yeah, start stretching up nice and high.

0:24:43 > 0:24:45Yeah, a couple of bricks above your head.

0:24:45 > 0:24:48Now that's directing.

0:24:48 > 0:24:50SIREN BLARES

0:24:53 > 0:24:56Yeah, that's great, guys, it's looking really good.

0:24:57 > 0:24:59There you go, Gavin.

0:24:59 > 0:25:01Ricky, what are we making?

0:25:01 > 0:25:03You don't worry about that, my friend,

0:25:03 > 0:25:06you just keep taking instructions from me and all will become clear.

0:25:06 > 0:25:09OK, Sarah, so just tighten that onto that valve there.

0:25:09 > 0:25:12I'll give you a little clue here, it needs to be watertight.

0:25:12 > 0:25:13Oh, yeah?

0:25:13 > 0:25:15Oh, look at that, you're a glowing example.

0:25:17 > 0:25:20OK, Gavin, have you got that nozzle nice and secure?
