0:00:02 > 0:00:05I'm Ricky. I live in Bristol.

0:00:05 > 0:00:10By day, I work as an animator, which is lucky, cos I love art.

0:00:10 > 0:00:11I live for art.

0:00:11 > 0:00:13I even dream of art... Excuse!

0:00:13 > 0:00:14I draw.

0:00:14 > 0:00:16I paint.

0:00:17 > 0:00:19I make things.

0:00:21 > 0:00:22I hang out with my mates,

0:00:22 > 0:00:24Gavin, Michelle,

0:00:24 > 0:00:26Rich and Sarah.

0:00:26 > 0:00:28Most importantly, I make ninja moves.

0:00:30 > 0:00:34Some people call me...

0:00:34 > 0:00:38Today, I'll show you how to turn your salad into a face place mat.

0:00:38 > 0:00:39Ninja skills.

0:00:39 > 0:00:43More food for thought, with fruit pompoms,

0:00:43 > 0:00:47and I get fit, and fit in some art, with some other guys dressed in red.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50Because today, it's...

0:00:54 > 0:00:56HE YAWNS

0:00:56 > 0:00:58It's a new day.

0:00:58 > 0:01:01But it seems like I've overslept. It's almost lunchtime!

0:01:01 > 0:01:04I'd better get my ninja on.

0:01:04 > 0:01:05And my clothes.

0:01:19 > 0:01:20Whoa.

0:01:20 > 0:01:24I feel dizzy! I didn't realise I was afraid of heights.

0:01:28 > 0:01:31Ooh, I still feel a bit dizzy. Maybe I'm just hungry.

0:01:31 > 0:01:33I'll nip out and get some supplies.

0:01:35 > 0:01:38Can't wait to tuck in to these doughnuts.

0:01:38 > 0:01:42Hi, Ricky. Word's got round you need some help eating some doughnuts.

0:01:42 > 0:01:43You don't even like doughnuts.

0:01:43 > 0:01:48I don't. But Michelle, Matt and Rich do.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50You don't mind if I take some for them, do you?

0:01:50 > 0:01:53- But now there's none left for me! - Probably for the best.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56Less a six-pack, more of a family pack.

0:02:02 > 0:02:05Mm. This is much better for me,

0:02:05 > 0:02:07and it's given me an idea to brighten this place up.

0:02:07 > 0:02:09It's...

0:02:09 > 0:02:11the Art Ninja fruit pompoms.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16Get rid of that. Ooh, in the bin.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19So I've got myself some card and an old CD here.

0:02:19 > 0:02:23Just going to draw round that with a pencil,

0:02:23 > 0:02:25and around the centre bit there.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28And just to make that hole in the middle slightly larger,

0:02:28 > 0:02:30I'm going to draw round a glue stick.

0:02:32 > 0:02:34There we are.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37Going to draw a couple of lines now, just to make a horseshoe shape.

0:02:39 > 0:02:40I'm going to cut that out.

0:02:51 > 0:02:55Now I'm going to need two of those, so I'm going to use my ninja skills.

0:02:56 > 0:02:59There we go. Now I'm going to grab some wool.

0:03:01 > 0:03:03Just get a little bit of white here.

0:03:06 > 0:03:10I'm just going to lay that loosely on one of the cardboard horseshoes.

0:03:10 > 0:03:12And with a couple of bits of masking tape,

0:03:12 > 0:03:14stick it down on the other side.

0:03:14 > 0:03:17I'll show you what this bit of thread is for later.

0:03:20 > 0:03:24Then I'm going to sandwich that between the two pieces of card.

0:03:24 > 0:03:26There we are. This is the frame that I'm going to wrap

0:03:26 > 0:03:29most of the wool around to make the pompom.

0:03:29 > 0:03:32Start off with a nice bit of red. Very vibrant red.

0:03:33 > 0:03:36Just pop it in like that. I don't need to tie it off.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39I can literally just start wrapping it round.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42As long as I go over the loose piece, it won't come undone.

0:03:47 > 0:03:50And I'm not going to detach the red, I'm going to leave it on there,

0:03:50 > 0:03:54just loose like that, and I'm going to add a couple of threads of white.

0:03:54 > 0:03:56Every now and again I'm going to stop

0:03:56 > 0:03:58and disperse a bit more white through it.

0:03:58 > 0:04:00And those little white loops every now and again

0:04:00 > 0:04:03interspersed throughout it will become the seeds.

0:04:05 > 0:04:06That's it, and then back on the red.

0:04:10 > 0:04:13Just going to intersperse a couple more loops of white in here

0:04:13 > 0:04:15so the seeds go all the way out of the fruit.

0:04:15 > 0:04:18So you may have guessed from the colours that I'm using

0:04:18 > 0:04:21that I'm doing a strawberry with some white seeds,

0:04:21 > 0:04:24and the green wool is for the stalk at the top.

0:04:27 > 0:04:30A great way to unwind, although I'm winding up.

0:04:32 > 0:04:35By making the horseshoe larger or smaller,

0:04:35 > 0:04:37you can create bigger or smaller fruit.

0:04:37 > 0:04:40Right, I'm done with that red now. Snip that bit off.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43I'm done with the white too.

0:04:43 > 0:04:45Now I'm going to do the stalk of the strawberry.

0:04:45 > 0:04:48That's this nice green colour. Very rich green.

0:04:52 > 0:04:54I'm just winding the green on one end

0:04:54 > 0:04:57because the stalk's only at one end of a strawberry.

0:04:57 > 0:04:59There we go. I think that's done.

0:04:59 > 0:05:01Chop off the excess of the green.

0:05:05 > 0:05:08Just going to ease free our little loose bits of wool

0:05:08 > 0:05:12that I tied between the horseshoes at the beginning.

0:05:12 > 0:05:15That's the first one. And one from the other side.

0:05:15 > 0:05:19Now I'm just going to tie a loose knot in it, like that.

0:05:19 > 0:05:21Not a very tight knot because I need a bit of space

0:05:21 > 0:05:25so I can get my scissors between the two pieces of cardboard.

0:05:25 > 0:05:27I'm going to slide a pair of scissors between them like that,

0:05:27 > 0:05:29and start cutting the wool.

0:05:29 > 0:05:32Now this is a tricky bit, so maybe get an adult to help.

0:05:33 > 0:05:36Don't worry about cutting the card

0:05:36 > 0:05:38cos that's going to slide out later, anyway.

0:05:42 > 0:05:45There we go. It's starting to look a bit more like a strawberry now,

0:05:45 > 0:05:46full and juicy.

0:05:46 > 0:05:49Now I'm going to tie those two pieces of wool a lot tighter

0:05:49 > 0:05:53to hold it all together and slide out these pieces of card.

0:05:56 > 0:05:58Looks like a bit of a fluffy weird strawberry at the moment,

0:05:58 > 0:06:01so we can start giving it a bit of a haircut.

0:06:03 > 0:06:05You see how all the white bits

0:06:05 > 0:06:08I wrapped round every now and again have become the seeds.

0:06:10 > 0:06:12Just cutting the stalk into shape now.

0:06:14 > 0:06:16And I've left these two white strands here

0:06:16 > 0:06:18so I can hang it up once I've finished.

0:06:18 > 0:06:20They are decorations, after all.

0:06:22 > 0:06:24There we are. I think that's done.

0:06:24 > 0:06:26A fabulous strawberry. I'll just add it to my display.

0:06:26 > 0:06:29You can use different coloured wool and make any fruit you like.

0:06:29 > 0:06:33I've made a watermelon and a couple of slices of kiwi fruit too.

0:06:35 > 0:06:40The fruit pompom - a juicy decoration for any occasion.

0:06:48 > 0:06:53What is Gav talking about, more family pack than six-pack?

0:06:53 > 0:06:54I'm looking good.

0:06:54 > 0:06:57What are you talking about? Look at that belly!

0:06:57 > 0:07:00Hey, you, don't be so cheeky.

0:07:00 > 0:07:02A six-pack is far more fitting for a ninja, though.

0:07:02 > 0:07:05On reflection, maybe he's right.

0:07:06 > 0:07:10Maybe I'd lose more junk from my trunk if I was animated.

0:07:10 > 0:07:12A bit like this picture.

0:07:12 > 0:07:14Hey, guys, watch this.

0:07:19 > 0:07:21- Dude!- Wow!

0:07:21 > 0:07:23Is this is a new trick of Rich's?

0:07:23 > 0:07:25No, it's just an animation.

0:07:25 > 0:07:27A floaty one.

0:07:27 > 0:07:29I've no idea how that happened.

0:07:29 > 0:07:32Well, usually in animation if we want to hold

0:07:32 > 0:07:35a character in the air, we'd use some wire that we call rigging.

0:07:35 > 0:07:37Then we'd take a clean plate of the animation set

0:07:37 > 0:07:40without the model in, and we'd paint them out afterwards.

0:07:42 > 0:07:45But in this case, we're going to do a little trick.

0:07:45 > 0:07:48So to make this cool friend-floaty animation,

0:07:48 > 0:07:50you'll need a friend...

0:07:52 > 0:07:54..or some friends.

0:08:01 > 0:08:05Yeah. And a tablet device with some kind of animation app.

0:08:05 > 0:08:08And you can put it together in just three ninja moves.

0:08:08 > 0:08:11'Ninja move number one.'

0:08:11 > 0:08:13So the first thing I need to do is practice

0:08:13 > 0:08:15getting good at taking a picture at just the right time,

0:08:15 > 0:08:18and that's when Rich is at his highest point in his jump.

0:08:20 > 0:08:23Hmm, that was a little bit too late. Try again.

0:08:24 > 0:08:26Hey, that's better.

0:08:26 > 0:08:28About...there.

0:08:28 > 0:08:29That's the good bit there. Also,

0:08:29 > 0:08:32I'm going to want him to try and keep his hands in the same place.

0:08:32 > 0:08:34Otherwise it goes like this.

0:08:34 > 0:08:36Let's try a couple more, Rich. Go.

0:08:36 > 0:08:38Ah, that's perfect.

0:08:38 > 0:08:39'Ninja move number two.'

0:08:39 > 0:08:41Time for me to start shooting my animation.

0:08:41 > 0:08:43Rich, I think you've got it easy.

0:08:43 > 0:08:46Last year I was like face down on the floor, with him on my back.

0:08:48 > 0:08:49'Ninja move number three.'

0:08:49 > 0:08:52We can have him fly all over the skate park.

0:08:52 > 0:08:55We're going to do some fly-bys, try some close-ups, some wides,

0:08:55 > 0:08:57maybe a few following camera angles.

0:08:57 > 0:09:00And the whole time, we're going to try and have some fun.

0:09:11 > 0:09:13We've shot all our frames of the animation.

0:09:13 > 0:09:15So, Rich, are you ready to see it?

0:09:17 > 0:09:21Well, I think it's time to take a look at our mini-masterpiece.

0:09:34 > 0:09:36If I want to get back to full ninja fitness,

0:09:36 > 0:09:39it's time I started a fitness regime.

0:09:53 > 0:09:54RIPPING

0:09:56 > 0:09:58BOINGING

0:10:03 > 0:10:06I didn't exactly exercise a healthy balance there.

0:10:06 > 0:10:08So, back to the drawing board.

0:10:08 > 0:10:12Maybe eating more healthily is the key, like this salad.

0:10:14 > 0:10:15Mm.

0:10:17 > 0:10:21I think I can make this even better with a face.

0:10:21 > 0:10:24If I may be so bold as to make a suggestion?

0:10:24 > 0:10:25Who are you?

0:10:25 > 0:10:28I am Giuseppe Arcimboldo.

0:10:28 > 0:10:33I was an artist in Italy in the 16th century.

0:10:33 > 0:10:35Yeah, but why are you on a lettuce leaf?

0:10:35 > 0:10:38Well, if you'd just "lettuce" explain,

0:10:38 > 0:10:43I am most famous for creating realistic portraits out of food.

0:10:43 > 0:10:46Fruits, vegetables and fish, and flowers too.

0:10:46 > 0:10:48Here's an example of my work now.

0:10:51 > 0:10:54Right. So I could make a salad face place mat

0:10:54 > 0:10:59inspired by you, Arcimboldo. But why do I have to use lettuce?

0:10:59 > 0:11:01Just "cos".

0:11:01 > 0:11:03Ha-ha! Just "cos".

0:11:03 > 0:11:06Good lettuce joke. I'm "green" with envy.

0:11:06 > 0:11:08Not as green as this!

0:11:10 > 0:11:12I'm going to start making my salad face,

0:11:12 > 0:11:15and I'm going to make a self-portrait.

0:11:15 > 0:11:17I'm going to start with some mushrooms.

0:11:17 > 0:11:19These are going to be my eyes,

0:11:19 > 0:11:21and I've sliced the tops off, so they're flat.

0:11:22 > 0:11:26Bits of cucumber will be my irises.

0:11:26 > 0:11:28Mm, relaxing.

0:11:30 > 0:11:31Pop them on.

0:11:31 > 0:11:36And then some black olives, halved, will be the pupils.

0:11:36 > 0:11:38Boop, boop.

0:11:38 > 0:11:41This carved piece of cucumber will be my nose. Fit in there.

0:11:41 > 0:11:44And I've hollowed out a tomato to be my mouth.

0:11:46 > 0:11:47Going to make some eyelids.

0:11:47 > 0:11:51These are from little shavings of cucumber.

0:11:52 > 0:11:54You can make these with a vegetable peeler.

0:11:57 > 0:12:00Going to put a little olive in there

0:12:00 > 0:12:02so it's like I'm going mwah!

0:12:02 > 0:12:05Now I'm going to tear up some cauliflower

0:12:05 > 0:12:08and that's going to become the skin on my face.

0:12:14 > 0:12:18Tearing and twisting the cauliflower breaks it up into nice tiny bits.

0:12:25 > 0:12:28I think I'll do the ears next, and I'm going to use a mushroom.

0:12:28 > 0:12:31Pull out the stalk and I'm going to tear it in half.

0:12:34 > 0:12:37And each side is going to become an ear.

0:12:38 > 0:12:41I'm going to do my ninja headband with some halves of strawberry.

0:12:50 > 0:12:52Now some hair.

0:12:53 > 0:12:55I'm going to use some yellow pepper.

0:13:01 > 0:13:04Now just to give the chin a little bit more definition,

0:13:04 > 0:13:07I'm going to tear up some little strips of lettuce.

0:13:16 > 0:13:19Now it's time for my trademark glasses.

0:13:19 > 0:13:22For that, I'm going to use a red onion.

0:13:22 > 0:13:25Cut it open. All these lovely rings, they're going to be my lenses.

0:13:25 > 0:13:28So let's just pop out the middle.

0:13:31 > 0:13:32One lens.

0:13:33 > 0:13:35I can use one of these larger rings from the onion

0:13:35 > 0:13:38to do the rest of the glasses frames.

0:13:39 > 0:13:41There we go. I'm finishing off my place mat

0:13:41 > 0:13:43with a knife and fork.

0:13:43 > 0:13:45Yep, it looks just like me.

0:13:45 > 0:13:48That's the first stage. Now I need to take a photo.

0:13:50 > 0:13:51I'll just print that out.

0:13:53 > 0:13:54Ninja skills.

0:13:54 > 0:13:56But to make it more like a place mat,

0:13:56 > 0:13:58it's going to need a plastic coating.

0:13:59 > 0:14:01I'm putting sticky-backed plastic on

0:14:01 > 0:14:05so if I drop food on the place mat, I can just wipe it off.

0:14:06 > 0:14:09And you need to take your time when you're sticking this on

0:14:09 > 0:14:10cos it can be quite tricky,

0:14:10 > 0:14:12but I don't need to do that cos I'm a ninja. Hi-ya!

0:14:13 > 0:14:15Check that out.

0:14:16 > 0:14:19There you go - the Arcimboldo salad-face place mat,

0:14:19 > 0:14:22and you can make other place mats with similar bite.

0:14:22 > 0:14:24So how about this one?

0:14:24 > 0:14:27With some nice carrot eyelids and sweetcorn teeth.

0:14:27 > 0:14:29TEETH RATTLE

0:14:29 > 0:14:30Or an entire carrot face,

0:14:30 > 0:14:33with a long carrot nose and green lettuce hair.

0:14:33 > 0:14:36Or this one, with a carrot-top beard.

0:14:38 > 0:14:42Not only does this carrot face look good, but you can eat it, too.

0:14:43 > 0:14:45I'm still a bit peckish.

0:14:47 > 0:14:48PHONE RINGS

0:14:48 > 0:14:51Hi, Ricky, it's your mum!

0:14:51 > 0:14:53I hope you're keeping fit.

0:14:53 > 0:14:55Anyway, here's some more art to fit in.

0:14:55 > 0:14:58A ball game with bite!

0:14:58 > 0:14:59THEY CHEER

0:14:59 > 0:15:02Amazing edible eyes!

0:15:02 > 0:15:06And you swap your skateboard for a new set of wheels.

0:15:06 > 0:15:11Ricky, pose as much as you like - it's a workout you need, son.

0:15:11 > 0:15:13- BOTH:- Ricky, Ricky, Ricky.

0:15:13 > 0:15:16Fat chance of that with these ninja apprentices about.

0:15:16 > 0:15:19Ricky, can you make art with a stamp?

0:15:19 > 0:15:22I'm sorry, I'm going to have to return that suggestion to sender.

0:15:22 > 0:15:24- BOTH:- Awww.

0:15:24 > 0:15:27Ricky, can you make art with a plastic bottle?

0:15:27 > 0:15:30Yeah, all right. I choose you.

0:15:30 > 0:15:32- BOTH:- Yay!

0:15:32 > 0:15:34- What's your names? - My name's Lola...

0:15:34 > 0:15:37My name's Bailey.

0:15:37 > 0:15:40Nice to meet you, Lola and Bailey. And where are you guys from?

0:15:40 > 0:15:43- We're from Bristol. - Oh, yeah. Awesome.

0:15:43 > 0:15:45So I'm going to use a green plastic water bottle

0:15:45 > 0:15:47to make something that lives in the water.

0:15:47 > 0:15:50I'll just go and grab my stuff.

0:15:50 > 0:15:54Some fun tools, some glue, and a plastic water bottle.

0:15:54 > 0:15:57All right, I'm going to start by taking off the lid.

0:15:57 > 0:16:01But I'm going to keep hold of it cos I need that for later.

0:16:01 > 0:16:04Then I'm going to draw a line about two-thirds of the way

0:16:04 > 0:16:06down the bottle, where I'm going to cut off.

0:16:06 > 0:16:08- What are you going to make? - What are you going to make?

0:16:08 > 0:16:10I'll give you a clue. It goes snap-snap.

0:16:10 > 0:16:12- Crocodile.- Crocodile!

0:16:12 > 0:16:14Yeah. Crocodile.

0:16:14 > 0:16:17All right. Cut plastic can be quite sharp

0:16:17 > 0:16:21so it would be good to get an adult to help you.

0:16:21 > 0:16:23Now, I'm going to draw a line for the mouth,

0:16:23 > 0:16:26cos otherwise, how's the crocodile going to eat,

0:16:26 > 0:16:28- if he hasn't got a mouth?- Yeah!

0:16:29 > 0:16:31OK. I'm just going to cut out the edges now.

0:16:31 > 0:16:33I've just drawn a line round where the mouth's going to be.

0:16:35 > 0:16:38OK, so here's how his mouth's looking.

0:16:38 > 0:16:40He can't catch his prey without eyes or teeth,

0:16:40 > 0:16:43so I'm going to make those out of some white card.

0:16:43 > 0:16:44I'm doing nine big teeth.

0:16:46 > 0:16:49I'm going to do seven small ones.

0:16:49 > 0:16:51Let's see your teeth. Can you do a crocodile chomp?

0:16:51 > 0:16:53HE LAUGHS

0:16:53 > 0:16:56You guys are being quite scary.

0:16:56 > 0:16:57Right, so I'm just drawing its eyes,

0:16:57 > 0:16:59cos how's it going to see otherwise, right?

0:16:59 > 0:17:01OK, now I'm going to cut them out.

0:17:01 > 0:17:05Just doing a bit of dentistry here, friendly little gnashers.

0:17:08 > 0:17:12Right. Bailey, make your funny face. I'm going to put them on the screen.

0:17:12 > 0:17:14Yeah!

0:17:14 > 0:17:15Lola, now you.

0:17:16 > 0:17:18Whoa, that is freaky.

0:17:18 > 0:17:21Now I'm going to do some little green bumps

0:17:21 > 0:17:23to go along the back of the crocodile.

0:17:25 > 0:17:26I'm going to use some glue stick.

0:17:31 > 0:17:34And I probably don't need that last bump there, so let's chop that off.

0:17:34 > 0:17:36Let's put on some eyes so he can see.

0:17:37 > 0:17:39Now the cool thing about this crocodile

0:17:39 > 0:17:42is it's going to be a little bit of a game.

0:17:45 > 0:17:46I'm just going to grab some sticky tape.

0:17:53 > 0:17:56HE GROWLS

0:17:56 > 0:17:58I'm going to start sticking the teeth in now,

0:17:58 > 0:18:01and just for ease, you can do it with sticky tape.

0:18:02 > 0:18:04Right in the middle.

0:18:06 > 0:18:08Nearly finished my dentistry now.

0:18:08 > 0:18:10Just need a couple of fillings.

0:18:13 > 0:18:16So what do you think of the crocodile so far?

0:18:16 > 0:18:18- Good.- Good.

0:18:19 > 0:18:21I need something for him to eat.

0:18:21 > 0:18:23I'm going to do that using some orange card,

0:18:23 > 0:18:25a bit of thicker card, to make a fish.

0:18:27 > 0:18:29Now I'm just going to poke a hole through the fish

0:18:29 > 0:18:32and I'm going to do that by putting down a bit of modelling clay

0:18:32 > 0:18:34to keep the table nice and safe.

0:18:34 > 0:18:38So I've got a bit of string and I'm going to tie it through the fish.

0:18:39 > 0:18:43The string should be slightly longer than the bottle.

0:18:43 > 0:18:45And remember I told you I kept the lid from earlier?

0:18:45 > 0:18:47- Yeah.- Mm-hmm.

0:18:47 > 0:18:51Well, now I'm going to put the bit of string through the top.

0:18:53 > 0:18:56And screw the lid on over the top of it so it's held in place.

0:18:57 > 0:19:00- So you girls ready to see it? BOTH:- Yeah.

0:19:00 > 0:19:03- You ready to see it in action? BOTH:- Yeah.

0:19:03 > 0:19:04Here's the game.

0:19:05 > 0:19:08HE GROWLS, THEY CHEER

0:19:08 > 0:19:11First go. What would you guys score it?

0:19:11 > 0:19:13- BOTH:- 10!

0:19:13 > 0:19:15I'll take that. Thanks very much, guys. Bye-bye.

0:19:15 > 0:19:17- BOTH:- Bye!

0:19:19 > 0:19:22Don't lose your bottle! Have a go yourself.

0:19:22 > 0:19:25Here's a quick art tip of how to draw a muscleman.

0:19:25 > 0:19:28So I'm going to give him a nice chunky head,

0:19:28 > 0:19:31a bit of a chiselled jaw,

0:19:31 > 0:19:34and a mouth, some eyes...

0:19:35 > 0:19:36..bit of hair.

0:19:38 > 0:19:41Now for the muscles. I go straight onto the shoulders,

0:19:41 > 0:19:43and they're going to be circular. Big biceps.

0:19:46 > 0:19:48And the arms are going to end with tiny hands,

0:19:48 > 0:19:49just to accentuate the big muscles.

0:19:51 > 0:19:54And the body's going to be a kind of V-shape.

0:19:54 > 0:19:55All the way down to his feet.

0:19:55 > 0:19:59Just highlights I've added here are really big strong broad shoulders.

0:19:59 > 0:20:04Now on his chest, some pectorals, little squiggles for a six-pack.

0:20:04 > 0:20:05I'm also going to give this guy

0:20:05 > 0:20:08a couple of big dumbbells he's easily lifting.

0:20:12 > 0:20:14There you go - a quick art tip.

0:20:17 > 0:20:21Why don't you flex your artistic muscles and have a go?

0:20:23 > 0:20:24Ooh!

0:20:29 > 0:20:32Hey, Gav, what are you doing back?

0:20:32 > 0:20:34- Any more doughnuts I can help you with?- No.

0:20:34 > 0:20:36There is something you can help me with, though.

0:20:51 > 0:20:55- Hey, you there. - Not him again! Where's the remote?

0:20:55 > 0:20:58Ever have trouble facing your food?

0:20:59 > 0:21:00Can't face you right now.

0:21:00 > 0:21:04Now you can put a face ON your food!

0:21:04 > 0:21:09Delicious. Here's how you make them.

0:21:09 > 0:21:12You'll need some edible rice paper.

0:21:14 > 0:21:18Some pens with edible ink. Tasty.

0:21:18 > 0:21:22Take one of the pens and design yourself some funny eyes.

0:21:22 > 0:21:26You can buy edible ink pens in a craft shop.

0:21:28 > 0:21:30These are smiley eyes.

0:21:32 > 0:21:36These are - ohh - sleepy eyes.

0:21:37 > 0:21:40And these are dizzy eyes.

0:21:41 > 0:21:44Cut those out with some scissors.

0:21:44 > 0:21:47Careful, it's delicate.

0:21:53 > 0:21:57There. Take a plate of food.

0:21:57 > 0:21:59Take a bowl of water,

0:21:59 > 0:22:05and lightly dab the back of the eyes to stick them to your food.

0:22:24 > 0:22:25Mm.

0:22:25 > 0:22:28I'm not going to get a six-pack by just eating.

0:22:28 > 0:22:30Where's that fitness magazine?

0:22:31 > 0:22:35Here it is. But I've spilt paint on it. Oh, no.

0:22:35 > 0:22:38I wanted to check out the ad for fitness training.

0:22:38 > 0:22:41I mean, it looks like a ninja training camp.

0:22:41 > 0:22:45I can't read all of it, cos of the red splodge, but there's an address.

0:22:45 > 0:22:47I'm going to go check it out.

0:22:47 > 0:22:50Ninja training camp, here I come.

0:22:50 > 0:22:52That'll get me fit.

0:23:07 > 0:23:09but they don't LOOK like ninjas.

0:23:11 > 0:23:13I think I've come to the wrong place.

0:23:19 > 0:23:22- Oh!- Where do you think you're going, recruit?

0:23:22 > 0:23:24Is this not the ninja fitness facility?

0:23:24 > 0:23:27You're at the home of the British Army's Freefall Display Team,

0:23:27 > 0:23:28the Red Devils.

0:23:34 > 0:23:36Get in there and get on the floor.

0:23:46 > 0:23:47OK, carry on.

0:23:50 > 0:23:52Why are we doing this?

0:23:52 > 0:23:55We practice this on the ground before we throw you out the plane.

0:23:55 > 0:23:58- But I don't want to get thrown out of a plane!- Tough.

0:23:59 > 0:24:01These are fun, aren't they? Can I have one of these?

0:24:01 > 0:24:03No, you can't.

0:24:05 > 0:24:06Your hands are so soft.

0:24:08 > 0:24:11All these moves are making me really dizzy.

0:24:11 > 0:24:14But they have given me an idea for some great art.

0:24:14 > 0:24:17But first, we'd better get our ninja on.

0:24:22 > 0:24:24Squad, halt.

0:24:24 > 0:24:26Art ninja!

0:24:28 > 0:24:32Do you know how you use your boards to practise your moves?

0:24:32 > 0:24:34Well, get a load of my board.

0:24:34 > 0:24:37Now, I'm going to need you guys to wheel me around on that cog.

0:24:37 > 0:24:39- You up for that?- Too right.

0:24:39 > 0:24:41Too right, too left, too right.

0:24:41 > 0:24:43Get on with it.

0:24:44 > 0:24:47I'm going to try and make a giant pattern.

0:24:47 > 0:24:50So this board is going to go around this big cog on the outside.

0:24:50 > 0:24:52I'm going to take a little seat on it...

0:24:53 > 0:24:56..and with a felt pen I'm going to poke it through one of the holes.

0:24:56 > 0:24:59- Matt, can you come and give me a push, mate?- All right, Ricky.

0:25:07 > 0:25:11And as we move around, we're going to create lines,

0:25:11 > 0:25:13which will make a pattern.

0:25:13 > 0:25:14How's it looking, Alex?

0:25:14 > 0:25:17Yeah, it's looking good. It's starting to take shape.

0:25:38 > 0:25:41I know you're used to pulling ripcords, mate,

0:25:41 > 0:25:43but mind you don't rip the paper.

0:25:48 > 0:25:50And stop.

0:26:11 > 0:26:12Just push me.

0:26:12 > 0:26:15By putting the pen into the hole closest to the middle,

0:26:15 > 0:26:17I will create a totally new pattern.

0:26:17 > 0:26:20Go for it. Remember, get it right into those teeth.

0:26:20 > 0:26:21OK.

0:26:27 > 0:26:28Nearly there.

0:26:45 > 0:26:48Look at that. Good teamwork, guys.

0:26:48 > 0:26:50You made me jump.

0:26:50 > 0:26:52Funny you should say "jump". You ready to do yours?

0:26:52 > 0:26:54Cos this parachute's got your name on it.

0:26:54 > 0:26:56Let's go.

0:27:18 > 0:27:21The weather turned bad. What a shame.
