0:00:03 > 0:00:07'I'm Ricky. I live in Bristol. By day, I work as an animator.

0:00:07 > 0:00:10'Which is lucky, because I love art.

0:00:10 > 0:00:12'I live for art, I even dream of art.'

0:00:12 > 0:00:16Excuse...! 'I draw. I paint.

0:00:18 > 0:00:20'I make things.

0:00:21 > 0:00:23'I hang out with my mates, Gavin, Michelle,

0:00:23 > 0:00:26'Rich and Sarah.

0:00:26 > 0:00:29'Most importantly, I make ninja moves.

0:00:29 > 0:00:31'Some people call me the...

0:00:34 > 0:00:39'Today, I'll show you how to make, but not bake, a cake clock.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42'There's time for a lizard made from salt dough.

0:00:42 > 0:00:46'And you won't see me for dust with some vacuum-powered art.

0:00:46 > 0:00:47'Because today it's...'

0:00:54 > 0:00:56HE YAWNS

0:00:56 > 0:01:00It's a new day, time to get my ninja on.

0:01:00 > 0:01:02And my clothes.

0:01:15 > 0:01:19Right, time for some art. All I need is some paint.

0:01:19 > 0:01:22Like that pot of paint carefully balanced up there above

0:01:22 > 0:01:24Mum's antique Persian rug.

0:01:26 > 0:01:27What's the worst that could happen?

0:01:32 > 0:01:33SQUISH

0:01:33 > 0:01:37Oh, no! I've got paint on Mum's antique Persian rug.

0:01:37 > 0:01:41She's going to go ballistic. I'm never going to get this out.

0:01:42 > 0:01:44What am I going to do?

0:01:46 > 0:01:50How will I ever make it up to Mum for ruining her rug?

0:01:50 > 0:01:51I could bake a cake.

0:01:51 > 0:01:55But this isn't Junior Bake Off, and I don't have the time.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59Ah. That's given me an idea for some art, though.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01I'm going to make...

0:02:01 > 0:02:04the Art Ninja cake clock. TICKING

0:02:04 > 0:02:07So, I'm going to start with a big sheet of card.

0:02:07 > 0:02:11I'm going to draw a circle on it, using two pencils and some string.

0:02:11 > 0:02:14Just going to poke a hole like that. And then just draw around like that.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16This is a great trick for drawing a circle.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18Just going to cut that out.

0:02:20 > 0:02:21There we go.

0:02:21 > 0:02:26And I'm going to need two of those, so I'll just ninja another one.

0:02:26 > 0:02:27I've cut the centre out of this one

0:02:27 > 0:02:29so I can put the clock mechanism in later.

0:02:29 > 0:02:31Now, I've got a long strip of card here.

0:02:31 > 0:02:33I've made it about 5cm wide,

0:02:33 > 0:02:36and that will just decide the height of my cake.

0:02:36 > 0:02:38Now, another trick here to help you stick

0:02:38 > 0:02:39the strip around the circle

0:02:39 > 0:02:42is to pre-stick some masking tape on the underside of it,

0:02:42 > 0:02:43with a bit of it overlapping.

0:02:43 > 0:02:45This means you can roll round the card.

0:02:45 > 0:02:49And as you go around, just fold over the masking tape, stick it in place.

0:02:51 > 0:02:53Now to put the top bit on.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56We'll do a similar thing, but around the top.

0:02:58 > 0:03:02Last little bit there. That is the main structure of the cake done.

0:03:02 > 0:03:05But it needs to look like a cake, so I'm going to add some sponge.

0:03:05 > 0:03:09So we are going to cut my sponge into strips with some ninja skills.

0:03:09 > 0:03:10'Hi-ya!' There we go.

0:03:10 > 0:03:13Now, I'm going to stick these sponges around the side

0:03:13 > 0:03:16in two layers with some double-sided sticky tape.

0:03:24 > 0:03:25Just start placing them on.

0:03:25 > 0:03:28I'm going to use a bit of extra double-sided sticky tape between

0:03:28 > 0:03:31the ends of the sponge to make sure they stick together nicely.

0:03:34 > 0:03:39'Then turn your cake over and repeat this process for the second layer.'

0:03:39 > 0:03:41There we go. Now, I don't know about you,

0:03:41 > 0:03:43but I like my cake with a little bit of jam filling.

0:03:43 > 0:03:44For that, I'm using some wool.

0:03:44 > 0:03:46I've just chopped up some bits of wool here.

0:03:46 > 0:03:49And to make sure it stays on the inside, I'm just going to do

0:03:49 > 0:03:53a line of PVA between the two pieces of sponge for the wool to stick to.

0:03:53 > 0:03:56There we go. Let's start stuffing that jam in.

0:03:58 > 0:04:00Now, I don't know about you, but I'd like some icing.

0:04:00 > 0:04:03So I've got some pink and some white paint here,

0:04:03 > 0:04:05and I'm going to mix in with it some PVA glue

0:04:05 > 0:04:06to make it nice and sticky.

0:04:06 > 0:04:10And the PVA also means it dries kind of shiny, just like icing.

0:04:12 > 0:04:14I'm painting right up to the edges

0:04:14 > 0:04:18and I'm letting little bits dribble over so it looks like icing.

0:04:18 > 0:04:20Now I'm going to add some nice white swirls.

0:04:20 > 0:04:23So, we've got some slightly thinner paint here that I've mixed with PVA.

0:04:23 > 0:04:27I'm going to dribble that on top in a swirly pattern.

0:04:27 > 0:04:28Right, I think that's enough.

0:04:29 > 0:04:31Now I'm going to add some sprinkles

0:04:31 > 0:04:33and I'm using some coloured elastic bands.

0:04:33 > 0:04:35I'm going to chop these up with scissors,

0:04:35 > 0:04:37just to get them nice and small.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43There you go. Now I'm going to add some cream.

0:04:43 > 0:04:47And I'm going to do that by soaking some cotton wool in PVA glue

0:04:47 > 0:04:49and shaping them into dollops.

0:04:49 > 0:04:51Now, these lumps of cotton wool

0:04:51 > 0:04:53are going to be the markers for my hours.

0:04:53 > 0:04:55This first one here is going to be 12 o'clock.

0:04:55 > 0:04:58This one is going to be six o'clock.

0:04:58 > 0:04:59Nine o'clock.

0:04:59 > 0:05:02Three o'clock. And I'm going to fill in the other hours in between

0:05:02 > 0:05:04equal distances apart.

0:05:04 > 0:05:06So, I've done my main hour markers,

0:05:06 > 0:05:07but now I need the minutes.

0:05:07 > 0:05:10For that I've used a similar technique as making

0:05:10 > 0:05:12the dollops of cream, but this time I've mixed the cotton wool

0:05:12 > 0:05:14and PVA glue with some paint to make these lovely

0:05:14 > 0:05:16coloured balls of icing.

0:05:19 > 0:05:22Just counting down the final minutes.

0:05:23 > 0:05:24It's looking great,

0:05:24 > 0:05:27but I'll need to wait for it to dry before I put the mechanism in.

0:05:27 > 0:05:29No, I won't, because I'm a ninja.

0:05:30 > 0:05:31There we go.

0:05:31 > 0:05:33Now I need to add the mechanism.

0:05:33 > 0:05:35You can buy these from all good craft shops

0:05:35 > 0:05:37or you can buy them online pretty cheap.

0:05:37 > 0:05:39So, I'm going to attach this to the back of my clock.

0:05:39 > 0:05:41I'm going to poke it through the hole

0:05:41 > 0:05:43that I made right at the beginning.

0:05:44 > 0:05:46I've cut out a spoon and a fork

0:05:46 > 0:05:48to be my hour and my minute hand

0:05:48 > 0:05:50just out of some silver card.

0:05:50 > 0:05:52I've got double-sided sticky tape on the back

0:05:52 > 0:05:54and I'm going to push them onto the mechanism.

0:05:54 > 0:05:56That's the hour hand.

0:05:56 > 0:05:57Minute hand.

0:05:59 > 0:06:01And then the last little bit to hold them in place.

0:06:03 > 0:06:05There we go. It looks amazing.

0:06:05 > 0:06:08My clock is finished and it's a piece of cake.

0:06:08 > 0:06:09Time to hang it on the wall.

0:06:11 > 0:06:13Now, I've made mine to Mum's special recipe,

0:06:13 > 0:06:15but you can try some other ideas.

0:06:16 > 0:06:18How about one with some nice patterned icing

0:06:18 > 0:06:22or a lovely chocolate gateau?

0:06:22 > 0:06:24Enough of Ricky's Fake Bake Off.

0:06:24 > 0:06:25It's time to clock off.

0:06:40 > 0:06:42Nothing is going to get this out

0:06:42 > 0:06:45and when Mum finds out, I'm really going to be in for it.

0:06:45 > 0:06:47MOBILE PHONE RINGS

0:06:47 > 0:06:50Hm? That can't be her. She only ever uses the home phone.

0:06:50 > 0:06:53It's an alert for a new app.

0:06:53 > 0:06:58App To The Future, the first ever downloadable time machine.

0:06:58 > 0:07:00It's free. I'll give it a go.

0:07:02 > 0:07:05It's taking its time downloading.

0:07:05 > 0:07:09Oh! It's the slowest broadband in the world.

0:07:09 > 0:07:12While that buffers, here's a picture that never stops moving.

0:07:12 > 0:07:14That's because it's animated.

0:07:24 > 0:07:28Whoa... What's this? Some kind of balloon disaster?

0:07:28 > 0:07:32No, it's just an animation and it's going off with a bang.

0:07:32 > 0:07:34BALLOON POPS

0:07:34 > 0:07:36To make this popping little animation,

0:07:36 > 0:07:38you'll need a load of balloons,

0:07:38 > 0:07:40a balloon pump or a lot of puff,

0:07:40 > 0:07:41a permanent marker,

0:07:41 > 0:07:43some plastic or paper cups,

0:07:43 > 0:07:45a camera or smartphone,

0:07:45 > 0:07:46a pin,

0:07:46 > 0:07:48a skateboard and a selfie stick.

0:07:48 > 0:07:51And you can put it together in just three ninja moves.

0:07:51 > 0:07:53Ninja move number one.

0:07:53 > 0:07:54Blow up all your balloons.

0:07:54 > 0:07:56About 30 to 40 should do it.

0:07:56 > 0:07:58I'm using a balloon pump here

0:07:58 > 0:08:00because I've got quite a lot to get through.

0:08:00 > 0:08:02But be careful when you are blowing up your balloons

0:08:02 > 0:08:04because balloons pop.

0:08:05 > 0:08:07BALLOON POPS

0:08:07 > 0:08:09Ninja move number two.

0:08:09 > 0:08:11Now it's time to start drawing my frames.

0:08:11 > 0:08:13I need to be careful here because the balloons are super delicate

0:08:13 > 0:08:15and the dry tip of the pen can pop them.

0:08:15 > 0:08:20I'm going to be animating a little character on a space hopper.

0:08:20 > 0:08:22Also, I'm going to number my balloons

0:08:22 > 0:08:24so I know what order they go in later.

0:08:26 > 0:08:28Ninja move number three.

0:08:28 > 0:08:30Now I can start shooting the animation,

0:08:30 > 0:08:31but cos it is a real-time animation,

0:08:31 > 0:08:33it means we don't need to shoot in stop-frame.

0:08:33 > 0:08:35I can just use a camera that shoots video.

0:08:35 > 0:08:38So, for that, I'm going to be using my phone.

0:08:38 > 0:08:40Distance between the balloons is key,

0:08:40 > 0:08:42so it's good to do some tests first.

0:08:42 > 0:08:44I'm mounting the pin on the selfie stick,

0:08:44 > 0:08:45but I'm using it backward,

0:08:45 > 0:08:47so it's always the same distance from the camera.

0:08:47 > 0:08:49I'm going to be holding the camera in my hand

0:08:49 > 0:08:52and just riding on my skateboard and popping the balloons.

0:08:52 > 0:08:55Now, of course, needles or pins are super-sharp,

0:08:55 > 0:08:58so you might need to get an adult to help you.

0:08:58 > 0:09:00I'm going to line up the balloons in the correct order

0:09:00 > 0:09:03and sticky tape them to some cups so they don't fall over.

0:09:05 > 0:09:07This is a great thing to do on the weekend.

0:09:10 > 0:09:12We are going for it.

0:09:19 > 0:09:21Did that work? I don't know. We've got a few left over.

0:09:35 > 0:09:38Yeah! Sick.

0:09:38 > 0:09:39Woo!

0:09:40 > 0:09:43We have made a massive mess, though.

0:09:43 > 0:09:45Yeah, and you can clean this up, Ricky.

0:09:50 > 0:09:52The App To The Future time machine app has loaded.

0:09:52 > 0:09:56I can't wait to give it a go. I just enter a date.

0:09:56 > 0:09:59Maybe I'll go back to when I was a mere art ninja apprentice.

0:10:01 > 0:10:04Oh. Nothing happened.

0:10:04 > 0:10:06Must be a glitch.

0:10:10 > 0:10:14Well, the time machine works, but there's definitely a glitch.

0:10:14 > 0:10:17I've returned to the present as an eight year old.

0:10:17 > 0:10:20Oh, there's an update to fix the app.

0:10:20 > 0:10:22I'll just download that and try again.

0:10:27 > 0:10:28Whoa. That's better.

0:10:28 > 0:10:29Now I know it's working,

0:10:29 > 0:10:32I might go and see what the future holds for me.

0:10:32 > 0:10:332025 should do it.

0:10:38 > 0:10:41Wow. That was amazing.

0:10:41 > 0:10:45Who'd have thought they'd make Art Ninja: The Movie?

0:10:45 > 0:10:47I just played my dad, though.

0:10:47 > 0:10:49They got a younger actor to play me,

0:10:49 > 0:10:51but the premiere was great.

0:10:51 > 0:10:53It was so futuristic.

0:10:55 > 0:10:57Right, well, I've got art to make.

0:10:57 > 0:11:01I'm going to make something inspired by Catalan architect and artist

0:11:01 > 0:11:03Antoni Gaudi.

0:11:03 > 0:11:05Seeing as I've got loads of shoeboxes lying around,

0:11:05 > 0:11:07I'm going to decorate one in the style of Gaudi

0:11:07 > 0:11:09and use it to keep all my bits and bobs in.

0:11:09 > 0:11:11Going to need a bowl,

0:11:11 > 0:11:12cos I'm going to make some salt dough

0:11:12 > 0:11:14and I'm still not baking a cake.

0:11:14 > 0:11:16And some mix.

0:11:16 > 0:11:19The mix is half a cup of salt,

0:11:19 > 0:11:22a whole couple of plain flour

0:11:22 > 0:11:23and half a cup of water.

0:11:26 > 0:11:29Now, you're probably wondering why I'm making this dough.

0:11:29 > 0:11:31Well, I'm going to decorate my box with a lizard

0:11:31 > 0:11:33and create some mosaic tiles.

0:11:36 > 0:11:37There you go.

0:11:37 > 0:11:41That's mixed in pretty well and now I need to start shaping it.

0:11:41 > 0:11:42Just move these out of the way.

0:11:42 > 0:11:45I'm going to bring in a baking tray.

0:11:45 > 0:11:48I'll pop some grease-proof paper on there

0:11:48 > 0:11:51and I'm going to take a third of my mix off.

0:11:51 > 0:11:54Now I'm going to roll this bit into a sausage shape.

0:11:54 > 0:11:58I want it fatter at one end and getting thinner towards the other.

0:11:58 > 0:12:00I'm just going to curl it to make a tail.

0:12:12 > 0:12:14Right, he's looking good.

0:12:14 > 0:12:17Now I'm going to make the tiles for my mosaic.

0:12:20 > 0:12:22I'm going to cut lines.

0:12:22 > 0:12:26Cut them in different sizes just so you've got a variety in your mosaic.

0:12:27 > 0:12:28Right, they are all cut.

0:12:28 > 0:12:31I'm going to lay them out on my baking tray.

0:12:34 > 0:12:36Now, I could leave these to dry for three days.

0:12:36 > 0:12:40But not me. I'm going to use my oven.

0:12:40 > 0:12:43And I'm going to sound like a Bake Off judge when I say,

0:12:43 > 0:12:44"Ovens are hot, so be careful."

0:12:46 > 0:12:48Put them in the oven at the lowest temperature for three hours,

0:12:48 > 0:12:50then leave to cool.

0:12:50 > 0:12:51Now I'm ready to paint.

0:12:54 > 0:12:57I'm going to paint the lizard bright and colourful.

0:12:57 > 0:12:59You could say a bit gaudy.

0:12:59 > 0:13:02My name is Gaudi, not gaudy.

0:13:02 > 0:13:03Hey, Gaudi.

0:13:03 > 0:13:05I didn't expect to see you time travelling here.

0:13:05 > 0:13:08I put the art into architecture,

0:13:08 > 0:13:10adding in materials like ceramics,

0:13:10 > 0:13:13stained glass and wrought ironwork.

0:13:13 > 0:13:15Here is some of my work now.

0:13:19 > 0:13:22I see you are recreating something similar, no?

0:13:22 > 0:13:25I am. But if you don't mind, could you shoo?

0:13:25 > 0:13:26Time is tight.

0:13:26 > 0:13:27I'm going to add some blue now

0:13:27 > 0:13:30and create a nice triangle pattern along the back.

0:13:35 > 0:13:37Time to add some extra detail.

0:13:37 > 0:13:38First with orange...

0:13:40 > 0:13:42..and then with green

0:13:42 > 0:13:44and, finally, some eyes.

0:13:46 > 0:13:49Now I'm going to stick him to the top of my box.

0:13:49 > 0:13:51I'm just doing that with PVA glue.

0:13:53 > 0:13:56Now I'm going to take it up another notch with a mosaic.

0:13:57 > 0:13:59I could paint all these tiles,

0:13:59 > 0:14:00but not me.

0:14:00 > 0:14:02I'm going to use my ninja skills.

0:14:04 > 0:14:06Check it out.

0:14:06 > 0:14:09I'm using more PVA glue to stick the tiles to my box.

0:14:11 > 0:14:15The great thing about PVA is it disappears when it dries.

0:14:15 > 0:14:17First I'm doing red,

0:14:17 > 0:14:19then dark orange

0:14:19 > 0:14:20and, finally, yellow.

0:14:22 > 0:14:24You need to leave a little gap between your tiles

0:14:24 > 0:14:27to make it look like an authentic mosaic.

0:14:27 > 0:14:30I'm going to continue that yellow around the sides.

0:14:34 > 0:14:36And the final tile.

0:14:39 > 0:14:41Wow. Look at that.

0:14:43 > 0:14:47Well, I might as well put some bits and bobs inside my box.

0:14:47 > 0:14:50I'm going to keep art supplies inside.

0:14:58 > 0:15:00There we go. Check that out.

0:15:00 > 0:15:02I think it'll make a cool time capsule.

0:15:17 > 0:15:18Before I time travel again,

0:15:18 > 0:15:21here's a quick art tip of how to draw the changing seasons.

0:15:21 > 0:15:23So, I've drawn the same scene four times.

0:15:23 > 0:15:25Now I'm going to add the seasons to them.

0:15:25 > 0:15:28I'm going to start with spring, so I'll have a little sun.

0:15:28 > 0:15:30Not too bright.

0:15:30 > 0:15:32A couple of rays coming off of it.

0:15:32 > 0:15:33Do some tiny clouds.

0:15:36 > 0:15:39And on the tree, a little bit of blossom.

0:15:42 > 0:15:47And then some new sprouts of grass popping up in the fields.

0:15:47 > 0:15:49Now for summer.

0:15:49 > 0:15:50So, a nice big sun.

0:15:52 > 0:15:54Big rays popping out.

0:15:54 > 0:15:57And so the tree needs to look really full now,

0:15:57 > 0:16:01so I'm going to draw a cloud kind of shape around it

0:16:01 > 0:16:05and some flowers sprouting out of the grass.

0:16:05 > 0:16:07These are big tufts of grass, as well.

0:16:10 > 0:16:12Now for autumn.

0:16:12 > 0:16:14So, the tree will be a little less full.

0:16:14 > 0:16:16The leaves have started to drop,

0:16:16 > 0:16:19so just a smaller cloud shape around the tree's branches

0:16:19 > 0:16:22and then lots of leaves

0:16:22 > 0:16:24just falling down

0:16:24 > 0:16:26and blowing away on the wind.

0:16:26 > 0:16:28And finally, winter. Brr!

0:16:29 > 0:16:32I'm going to put a couple of clouds at the top here.

0:16:32 > 0:16:34Now I'm going to add some snow

0:16:34 > 0:16:35just coming down from the clouds.

0:16:37 > 0:16:38There we go. Quick art tip.

0:16:42 > 0:16:45Don't let the seasons pass you by. Give it a try.

0:16:52 > 0:16:55- PHONE RINGS - 'Hi, Ricky. It's your mum.

0:16:55 > 0:16:58'You probably don't have the time to answer now.'

0:16:58 > 0:16:59No, I don't.

0:16:59 > 0:17:02'Here's a look into the future of your show.

0:17:02 > 0:17:05'You make some super-smooth art with sandpaper.

0:17:05 > 0:17:09'I've got a sneaky suspicion you could use your sneakers to fly.

0:17:09 > 0:17:13'And you use vacuum cleaners to make art that's tidy indeed.

0:17:13 > 0:17:16'Anyway, must fly. Bye!'

0:17:16 > 0:17:18How does she know all this stuff?

0:17:18 > 0:17:20She must be able to see into the future.

0:17:22 > 0:17:24Ricky, Ricky, Ricky!

0:17:24 > 0:17:26Ah, some future ninjas.

0:17:26 > 0:17:28Ricky, can you make art with an eggwhisk?

0:17:28 > 0:17:31Not right now. My brain's a bit scrambled.

0:17:31 > 0:17:33Aw.

0:17:33 > 0:17:35Hey, Ricky.

0:17:35 > 0:17:37It's Ben from Officially Amazing.

0:17:37 > 0:17:40That's right and I think it will be officially amazing

0:17:40 > 0:17:43if you could make some art out of a whoopee cushion.

0:17:43 > 0:17:45Not this time and that's official.

0:17:47 > 0:17:48BOTH: Hi, Ricky.

0:17:48 > 0:17:51Can you make art with sandpaper?

0:17:51 > 0:17:52All right. I choose you.

0:17:52 > 0:17:54BOTH: Yay!

0:17:54 > 0:17:55What are your names?

0:17:55 > 0:17:57- I'm Nia.- I'm Mia. - And where are you guys from?

0:17:57 > 0:17:59- London.- London. Awesome.

0:17:59 > 0:18:01Using sandpaper,

0:18:01 > 0:18:04I'm going to make a smooth picture of a rough-looking Viking.

0:18:05 > 0:18:08I've got some oil pastels and my sandpaper.

0:18:08 > 0:18:11I'm going to start off by drawing his Viking face

0:18:11 > 0:18:14and I'm going to give him a helmet.

0:18:14 > 0:18:17I've got a time travel app today.

0:18:17 > 0:18:19If you could travel anywhere in time, where would you go?

0:18:19 > 0:18:21I'd go to the 3080s.

0:18:21 > 0:18:233080? Why there, then?

0:18:23 > 0:18:25To see if there's actually flying cars.

0:18:25 > 0:18:27You know what? I was there earlier.

0:18:27 > 0:18:30There's flying cars all over the place.

0:18:30 > 0:18:33I'm making sure I'm making very thick lines on the page

0:18:33 > 0:18:36with the oil pastels and getting a really thick cover.

0:18:36 > 0:18:40I'm blending in the colours just so it flows nicely from dark to light.

0:18:42 > 0:18:45Give him some horns on his helmet so he's a proper Viking.

0:18:45 > 0:18:48Just putting some highlights.

0:18:48 > 0:18:51Going to go back in with some black and put in a bit of detail now.

0:18:54 > 0:18:57- Here's how he is looking. - BOTH: Whoa.

0:18:57 > 0:18:58Now I'm going to do something

0:18:58 > 0:19:01that's going to make it look super-old and mega-cool.

0:19:01 > 0:19:03I've got some baking paper here.

0:19:03 > 0:19:06I'm going to lay it down with the non-shiny side up,

0:19:06 > 0:19:09pop my picture on it...

0:19:09 > 0:19:11And here's the cool bit, believe it or not,

0:19:11 > 0:19:14because I'm going to go and do a spot of ironing.

0:19:15 > 0:19:17So, I've got an iron set to medium heat.

0:19:17 > 0:19:18You need to be careful with irons,

0:19:18 > 0:19:20so get an adult to help you or supervise.

0:19:20 > 0:19:22Put a tea towel over and that's to protect the iron

0:19:22 > 0:19:26and to make the heat disperse evenly across the picture.

0:19:26 > 0:19:29Slow and steady wins the race with this one.

0:19:29 > 0:19:32Now the heat will melt the oil pastel

0:19:32 > 0:19:35and transfer the picture to the baking paper.

0:19:35 > 0:19:38Just give it a little check to make sure it's transferring,

0:19:38 > 0:19:40because it might need some more ironing.

0:19:41 > 0:19:43Wow. Look at that.

0:19:43 > 0:19:45Just turn the iron off.

0:19:45 > 0:19:46Let it cool down.

0:19:49 > 0:19:52I'll go and show those guys.

0:19:52 > 0:19:54OK, so I've ironed my picture. Time to peel it off.

0:19:58 > 0:20:02Ah, yes. It looks super-old and worn.

0:20:02 > 0:20:03Do you want to check it out?

0:20:03 > 0:20:05Yes, please.

0:20:05 > 0:20:07What do you make of that?

0:20:07 > 0:20:08BOTH: Whoa.

0:20:08 > 0:20:10What would you score it?

0:20:10 > 0:20:13- Ten out of ten. - I think it deserves a frame.

0:20:15 > 0:20:18Look at that. It looks ancient.

0:20:18 > 0:20:21Great suggestion, guys. Thanks very much.

0:20:21 > 0:20:22- Bye.- Bye-bye.

0:20:32 > 0:20:34Hi, Gav. What are you doing here?

0:20:34 > 0:20:35Hey, Ricky.

0:20:35 > 0:20:38I was just wondering if you had time to go out on the skateboards.

0:20:38 > 0:20:39Mate, I've got all the time I want,

0:20:39 > 0:20:42now I've got my App To The Future time travel app.

0:20:42 > 0:20:45- What? That sounds rad. Does it work?- Yeah.

0:20:45 > 0:20:50Watch this. Just put in the future date and press this.

0:20:53 > 0:20:55- I'm back.- Wow!

0:20:55 > 0:20:57They really do ride hoverboards in the future.

0:20:57 > 0:20:59No.

0:20:59 > 0:21:01I wiped out and the wheels fell off.

0:21:01 > 0:21:02Oh.

0:21:02 > 0:21:05Speaking of which,

0:21:05 > 0:21:09in the future, just try and steer clear of any ladders.

0:21:09 > 0:21:12Ladders? Right. See you in the future.

0:21:13 > 0:21:15Hey, you there.

0:21:15 > 0:21:18Ever wanted a bit more spring in your step?

0:21:18 > 0:21:22How about more wing on your shoe?

0:21:22 > 0:21:25For once, this product might actually take off.

0:21:25 > 0:21:27Here's how you make it.

0:21:28 > 0:21:32Grab some craft foam and a pencil

0:21:32 > 0:21:34and a draw yourself a lightning bolt.

0:21:38 > 0:21:39Cut that out.

0:21:42 > 0:21:47And use that lightning bolt as a template to make another.

0:21:47 > 0:21:51Now, grab yourself some different coloured card.

0:21:51 > 0:21:52With glue,

0:21:52 > 0:21:54glue your lightning bolts to it.

0:21:56 > 0:21:59Now cut those out and leave a border.

0:22:02 > 0:22:05Sparkly.

0:22:05 > 0:22:08Now grab some more coloured craft foam

0:22:08 > 0:22:10and stick the lightning bolts on top.

0:22:12 > 0:22:15Cut them out again with another border.

0:22:17 > 0:22:18Now you'll need a shoe.

0:22:21 > 0:22:24Use the eyelets to mark where the holes will be.

0:22:24 > 0:22:26Grab some modelling clay

0:22:26 > 0:22:29and use the pencil to poke some holes.

0:22:30 > 0:22:32Now lace them onto your shoes.

0:22:37 > 0:22:38Great.

0:22:38 > 0:22:40Now you can do that with your other shoe

0:22:40 > 0:22:43or try some different designs,

0:22:43 > 0:22:45like some nice butterfly ones

0:22:45 > 0:22:48or some bat wings

0:22:48 > 0:22:50or some dragon wings

0:22:50 > 0:22:53or some flames.

0:22:53 > 0:22:55That is some incredible feat.

0:22:57 > 0:23:00It looks like I'll have to throw Mum's super-ancient

0:23:00 > 0:23:03and very expensive rug in the skip.

0:23:03 > 0:23:06There aren't any vacuum cleaners that will get rid of paint.

0:23:06 > 0:23:08Maybe they'll invent one in the future.

0:23:08 > 0:23:10That's given me an idea.

0:23:10 > 0:23:11The time machine app.

0:23:11 > 0:23:13I don't even have to go to the future.

0:23:13 > 0:23:15I can go back in time

0:23:15 > 0:23:17and stop the paint from ever being spilt.

0:23:24 > 0:23:25Ninja skills.

0:23:27 > 0:23:29There we go.

0:23:29 > 0:23:32The stain is gone and the rug is saved.

0:23:32 > 0:23:35I didn't even need a fancy vacuum cleaner.

0:23:35 > 0:23:38Although it has given me an idea for some art.

0:23:38 > 0:23:39Hi, Rich.

0:23:39 > 0:23:42Grab Sarah and Michelle and I'll meet you at the warehouse.

0:23:42 > 0:23:44Oh, and bring some Hoovers.

0:23:54 > 0:23:56Ninja skills.

0:23:56 > 0:23:59Hey, guys. Thanks for bringing down the vacuum cleaners.

0:23:59 > 0:24:02- That's OK. What do you need them for?- It looks pretty tidy.

0:24:02 > 0:24:04Thank you.

0:24:04 > 0:24:05Not you, the floor.

0:24:05 > 0:24:09Well, it does now, but I'm going to mess it up in the name of art.

0:24:12 > 0:24:13What are you doing, Ricky?

0:24:13 > 0:24:15Come on, guys, get involved.

0:24:15 > 0:24:16You know you want to.

0:24:23 > 0:24:26Whoa. What are you doing, mate? Don't want that green over here.

0:24:26 > 0:24:29- I want a nice green strip just over there.- OK.

0:24:31 > 0:24:35- Sarah, bright yellow. Just a nice thin strip along there.- Yeah, sure.

0:24:37 > 0:24:39And, Michelle, can you bring that darker blue down here

0:24:39 > 0:24:42and we are going to fade it into this light blue.

0:24:52 > 0:24:55- Ricky, how is this art? - Have faith, Sarah.

0:24:55 > 0:24:57All will become clearer and cleaner.

0:24:57 > 0:25:00But first, we need to get our ninja on.

0:25:07 > 0:25:08Art ninja.

0:25:08 > 0:25:10Art ninja!

0:25:10 > 0:25:12- SARAH AND MICHELLE: Art ninja? - Yeah.

0:25:15 > 0:25:16This is lovely, mate.

0:25:16 > 0:25:18But I still don't know why we need the vacuum cleaners.

0:25:18 > 0:25:20Well, rather than using pencils or paintbrushes,

0:25:20 > 0:25:23we're going to use them to make our picture.

0:25:27 > 0:25:28There you go, guys. Do you get it?

0:25:28 > 0:25:30Oh, I get it.

0:25:30 > 0:25:33- So, do you want to come and get involved?- Yeah. Try and stop me.

0:25:40 > 0:25:42Rich, I'm going to need some vertical lines

0:25:42 > 0:25:44just running down that green bit there.

0:25:44 > 0:25:45You got it.

0:25:47 > 0:25:49Sarah, I need some long horizontal

0:25:49 > 0:25:53and short vertical lines along the bottom.

0:25:53 > 0:25:54OK.

0:25:55 > 0:26:00And I'm working on an area that will really make this picture take off.

0:26:00 > 0:26:02Don't worry, you'll get it later.

0:26:10 > 0:26:12Hey, get off.

0:26:14 > 0:26:16Right, that's the end of the vacuuming.

0:26:16 > 0:26:17I thought we were all done.

0:26:17 > 0:26:19Not quite.

0:26:19 > 0:26:22We just need to add some highlights.

0:26:22 > 0:26:23The finishing touches.

0:26:39 > 0:26:43That's it, and for a picture made of coloured dust, it's not too shabby.

0:26:51 > 0:26:54It's an incredible aeroplane vacuumed out of dust.

0:26:54 > 0:26:56Well, seeing as it took so long,

0:26:56 > 0:26:59I think we all deserve to go out and eat somewhere nice.

0:26:59 > 0:27:00- Yeah.- Last one there pays.

0:27:05 > 0:27:07I knew I wouldn't see those guys for dust.

0:27:19 > 0:27:22OWL HOOTS

0:27:22 > 0:27:24We really cleaned up with that picture.

0:27:24 > 0:27:27Today has taught me a valuable Art Ninja lesson.

0:27:27 > 0:27:30Litter coloured dust across a giant room

0:27:30 > 0:27:33to make fantastic art with a vacuum.

0:27:33 > 0:27:35That's enough time travelling for me.

0:27:35 > 0:27:37I think I'll delete the app now.

0:27:40 > 0:27:42It's not worked.

0:27:42 > 0:27:44There's something seriously wrong with this.

0:27:46 > 0:27:49Aaaaaaah!
