0:00:03 > 0:00:05I'm Ricky. I live in Bristol.

0:00:05 > 0:00:07By day, I work as an animator.

0:00:07 > 0:00:11Which is lucky, cos I love art. I live for art.

0:00:11 > 0:00:12I even dream of art.

0:00:12 > 0:00:14Make it with screws.

0:00:14 > 0:00:15I draw...

0:00:15 > 0:00:17I paint...

0:00:18 > 0:00:19I make things.

0:00:20 > 0:00:26I hang out with my mates. Gavin, Michelle, Rich and Sarah.

0:00:26 > 0:00:29Most importantly, I make Ninja moves.

0:00:29 > 0:00:30Some people call me the...

0:00:34 > 0:00:37Today, I'll show you how to create a Moon Catcher

0:00:37 > 0:00:39that will LEAF you gasping.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42I make a pencil holder that's a bit of a monster.

0:00:42 > 0:00:45And you can do anything if you plan it.

0:00:45 > 0:00:48Even art that's out of this world.

0:00:48 > 0:00:49Because today it's...

0:00:53 > 0:00:56HOWLING

0:00:56 > 0:00:58YAWNS

0:00:58 > 0:01:01It's not a new day. It's the middle of the night.

0:01:01 > 0:01:04But I can't sleep, so I guess I get my Ninja on.

0:01:04 > 0:01:06And my clothes.

0:01:06 > 0:01:09MUSIC PLAYS

0:01:25 > 0:01:29It's 3am. Only night workers and lunatics are up at this hour.

0:01:31 > 0:01:32Oh. Hi, Gav.

0:01:32 > 0:01:34Hiya, Ricky. I can't sleep.

0:01:34 > 0:01:37And I feel weird.

0:01:37 > 0:01:41HOWLING

0:01:41 > 0:01:43You look a bit odd. And your ears look funny.

0:01:43 > 0:01:47In fact, they look a bit...furry. Let me take a picture.

0:01:51 > 0:01:53He's gone and he's gone weird.

0:01:54 > 0:01:55Weirder than usual.

0:01:58 > 0:02:02It's still dark outside. Only the light of the moon.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04HOWLING

0:02:04 > 0:02:05Which gives me an idea.

0:02:05 > 0:02:08While I'm awake, I'm going to make a Moon Catcher

0:02:08 > 0:02:11inspired by artist, Andy Goldsworthy.

0:02:11 > 0:02:13First, I need to forage.

0:02:15 > 0:02:17Got some lovely leaves there that I've got from outside.

0:02:17 > 0:02:20Some beautiful greens, some yellows and even some reds and oranges.

0:02:20 > 0:02:22I'm going to need a tray...

0:02:22 > 0:02:24and some water...

0:02:25 > 0:02:27..and a mug.

0:02:29 > 0:02:32- Hi, Ricky. - Who are you?

0:02:32 > 0:02:37I'm Andy Goldsworthy. I weave natural materials into sculpture.

0:02:37 > 0:02:43My art has included flowers, leaves, mud, pine cones, snow and icicles.

0:02:43 > 0:02:46You do know you're meant to avoid yellow snow, right?

0:02:46 > 0:02:50I do. But my work often changes colour as the natural materials

0:02:50 > 0:02:52I use decay.

0:02:52 > 0:02:54So I use photography to capture it.

0:02:55 > 0:02:57Well, bye then.

0:02:57 > 0:03:00Andy was on a leaf. But now he's left.

0:03:00 > 0:03:02I'm going to start by putting my cup on my tray

0:03:02 > 0:03:05and then pouring in some water.

0:03:05 > 0:03:07I want it to be about a centimetre deep.

0:03:07 > 0:03:10Now my Moon Catcher is going to be frozen. There we go.

0:03:10 > 0:03:14So the mug is making a hole,

0:03:14 > 0:03:16so when it's frozen I can hang it up.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19I don't want to put it too close to the edge,

0:03:19 > 0:03:22otherwise the ice will be too weak, it'll just break.

0:03:22 > 0:03:25Now I'm going to freeze these leaves inside my Moon Catcher.

0:03:25 > 0:03:27So I'm going to start arranging them.

0:03:27 > 0:03:30I'm going to start with the nice dark greens, right at the beginning.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33And have them blend into lighter greens.

0:03:33 > 0:03:34It's easier to put the water in first,

0:03:34 > 0:03:37and then push the leaves down into it.

0:03:37 > 0:03:39Cos if you put all your leaves down and then pour the water in,

0:03:39 > 0:03:42they kind of just flow everywhere and it might ruin your design.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45I'm fading through into the yellow leaves now.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47I've picked fallen leaves for my Moon Catcher,

0:03:47 > 0:03:50cos I get a really nice cross section of different

0:03:50 > 0:03:51colours and shapes and sizes.

0:03:51 > 0:03:52But you can use whatever you want.

0:03:52 > 0:03:56You could use grass sticks, even acorns.

0:03:56 > 0:03:59I'm going to start fading it through now into the orange.

0:04:00 > 0:04:02That's a nice one.

0:04:03 > 0:04:05And finally the red.

0:04:05 > 0:04:07And check the back of some of the leaves,

0:04:07 > 0:04:10cos they might have a more vivid colour on the back

0:04:10 > 0:04:11than they do on the front.

0:04:14 > 0:04:17There you go. I think that already looks beautiful.

0:04:17 > 0:04:20But it'll look even better once it's frozen.

0:04:20 > 0:04:21So I'm going to pop it in the freezer.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28Hang on. I don't wait for water to freeze.

0:04:28 > 0:04:31I wait for no-one. I'm the Art Ninja.

0:04:31 > 0:04:33- ART NINJA:- Yah!

0:04:33 > 0:04:37Check that out. Beautiful. Now I need to get this cup out.

0:04:37 > 0:04:40And that'll loosen with a little bit of warm water.

0:04:44 > 0:04:46There we go.

0:04:46 > 0:04:48And I carefully need to get it out.

0:04:53 > 0:04:57Wow! Look at that. That is beautiful.

0:04:59 > 0:05:02I'm going to tie a bit of ribbon around it, so I can hang it up.

0:05:03 > 0:05:05Now the art doesn't stop there.

0:05:05 > 0:05:08Just like Andy Goldsworthy, it involves photography.

0:05:14 > 0:05:17I'm going to hang it up in the moonlight,

0:05:17 > 0:05:20film it melting on my phone and play it in reverse as video art.

0:05:20 > 0:05:24MUSIC PLAYS

0:05:40 > 0:05:42Awesome. That's amazing.

0:05:42 > 0:05:44KNOCK ON DOOR

0:05:49 > 0:05:50Gavin, what you doing?

0:05:50 > 0:05:53Oh, just knocking the door cos I'm hungry. Hungry like a...

0:05:53 > 0:05:56HOWLING

0:05:56 > 0:05:58A wolf?

0:05:58 > 0:06:01I'm really craving a meat feast.

0:06:01 > 0:06:04Great. Now he's going to think I run some kind of late night cafe.

0:06:11 > 0:06:13It's really scary out there.

0:06:13 > 0:06:15PHONE RINGS

0:06:17 > 0:06:20Hey, Dad. What you doing up at this time of night?

0:06:22 > 0:06:24Any chance you have any steak?

0:06:24 > 0:06:28It's not for me, it's for Gavin. He's acting really strangely.

0:06:28 > 0:06:30Like stranger than usual.

0:06:30 > 0:06:34In fact he's become a bit of an animal.

0:06:34 > 0:06:35Thanks, Dad.

0:06:37 > 0:06:39Either Gav's turned into a monster or he's got

0:06:39 > 0:06:41a monster appetite.

0:06:41 > 0:06:45I'm going to make something equally gnarly. It's the...

0:06:45 > 0:06:49Art Ninja Monster Foot Pencil Holder.

0:06:49 > 0:06:54So I'm going to start by taking an old gravy pot and a piece of card.

0:06:54 > 0:06:57And we're going to draw out in the shape of my monster's foot.

0:06:57 > 0:06:59MUSIC PLAYS

0:07:04 > 0:07:07Nice long monster toes. Just going to cut that out.

0:07:12 > 0:07:14There we are.

0:07:14 > 0:07:16And I'm going to stick this tube onto my foot

0:07:16 > 0:07:18with a bit of masking tape.

0:07:20 > 0:07:21That's not coming off.

0:07:21 > 0:07:24Now I'm going to make my monster toes nice and 3D.

0:07:24 > 0:07:27And I'm going to do that with a bit of newspaper.

0:07:27 > 0:07:30Just rolling the newspaper into sausages with masking tape.

0:07:30 > 0:07:32Stick it to the top of my cardboard cut-out.

0:07:34 > 0:07:37And masking tape works as a really nice base

0:07:37 > 0:07:39for sticking the scales on to.

0:07:43 > 0:07:44Put the main bits of the toes on now.

0:07:44 > 0:07:46I'm going to start building it up.

0:07:46 > 0:07:48I want to give it a nice slope into the monster's leg

0:07:48 > 0:07:51because that will help me in later stages.

0:07:56 > 0:07:59Here we go. Now it's ready to add some scales.

0:07:59 > 0:08:02For this, I'm using some old plastic spoons.

0:08:02 > 0:08:04I carefully cut off most of the handle

0:08:04 > 0:08:07but I'm going to leave about two centimetres behind.

0:08:07 > 0:08:10And then just snap off these little edges.

0:08:10 > 0:08:12Now I'm going to need a lot more of those.

0:08:12 > 0:08:14But luckily, I've been collecting for quite some time.

0:08:14 > 0:08:18Now I'm going to stick these to my monster toes with the spoon

0:08:18 > 0:08:19side facing down.

0:08:19 > 0:08:21And this little extra bit of handle here,

0:08:21 > 0:08:23that's what I'm going to use to stick it down.

0:08:23 > 0:08:26Stick them with some sticky tape.

0:08:31 > 0:08:33Now I'm letting these overlap

0:08:33 > 0:08:36because they look more like authentic scales.

0:08:36 > 0:08:38It does take a little bit of time though.

0:08:38 > 0:08:39So I've got a quicker way.

0:08:42 > 0:08:44Ninja skills.

0:08:44 > 0:08:45Great. Now I can paint it.

0:08:45 > 0:08:49I'm going to start with a nice rich blue colour.

0:08:49 > 0:08:51I'm using acrylic paint here

0:08:51 > 0:08:54and that's because it's really good at covering the spoons.

0:08:57 > 0:08:59The last little bit at the back.

0:08:59 > 0:09:01Now I could wait for this to dry.

0:09:01 > 0:09:03But not me. I use my Ninja skills.

0:09:03 > 0:09:05Now I'm going to add some highlights

0:09:05 > 0:09:07and some texture to the scales to help define them.

0:09:07 > 0:09:10Slide in a little bit of paper, underneath the scales

0:09:10 > 0:09:12so you don't overlap onto the ones below.

0:09:12 > 0:09:14Start with some light blue first.

0:09:16 > 0:09:18Some white here too.

0:09:18 > 0:09:20This is going to make the scales look all worn

0:09:20 > 0:09:22and very monster-y looking.

0:09:24 > 0:09:27That starts to really define the scales.

0:09:27 > 0:09:29Now we're going to move on, and do another row.

0:09:29 > 0:09:30Going to add a new piece of paper.

0:09:30 > 0:09:32I'm going to start blending again.

0:09:32 > 0:09:39MUSIC PLAYS

0:09:42 > 0:09:44Let any other colours get under the brush,

0:09:44 > 0:09:46this helps blend them in a bit more.

0:09:50 > 0:09:52There we are.

0:09:52 > 0:09:54Look at that beautiful effect.

0:09:54 > 0:09:56And now I'm going to do the rest Ninja style.

0:09:59 > 0:10:00Look at that.

0:10:02 > 0:10:05But the toes won't be complete without some claws.

0:10:05 > 0:10:09And I'm going to make them by recycling some old plastic forks.

0:10:09 > 0:10:10Just going to chop off three.

0:10:13 > 0:10:17Now I'm going to stick them together with a little bit of sticky tape.

0:10:19 > 0:10:21The outside one I'm going to put in the middle,

0:10:21 > 0:10:22cos it's a bit thicker.

0:10:22 > 0:10:26Then put the other two next to it, so the middle one protrudes.

0:10:27 > 0:10:29There you go. Slide it in there.

0:10:30 > 0:10:33I've got a few more here. I'm going to slide them into place.

0:10:35 > 0:10:38Right. Time for the finishing touches.

0:10:38 > 0:10:40The things I'm going to put inside my pencil pot.

0:10:42 > 0:10:44The Monster Foot Pencil Pot.

0:10:46 > 0:10:49You don't have to make a monster's foot out of recycled

0:10:49 > 0:10:50spoons like mine.

0:10:50 > 0:10:54You can try a colourful parrot's foot made out of recycled forks.

0:10:54 > 0:10:57Or how about re-using some old plastic knives,

0:10:57 > 0:10:58to make a fluffy elephant's foot.

0:10:58 > 0:11:01Really let your imagination run wild.

0:11:04 > 0:11:07It's still late. It's not even early yet.

0:11:07 > 0:11:08I wish I could sleep.

0:11:17 > 0:11:20Here's a quick art tip of how to add a shadow to your drawing.

0:11:20 > 0:11:21So I've got a drawing here

0:11:21 > 0:11:23with a little wolf man wandering the streets.

0:11:23 > 0:11:26And the first thing you need to do is decide where the light's

0:11:26 > 0:11:27coming from.

0:11:27 > 0:11:30So, I think mine will come from the lower right here.

0:11:30 > 0:11:32So, I can project the shadow onto the wall behind him.

0:11:32 > 0:11:36So, I can start doing a rough outline of the character again,

0:11:36 > 0:11:37just back here.

0:11:37 > 0:11:40And I'm going to exaggerate his features a bit,

0:11:40 > 0:11:42making them longer and thinner.

0:11:44 > 0:11:47It's also good if the shadow overlaps a little bit

0:11:47 > 0:11:49with your character going behind it.

0:11:51 > 0:11:53And the shadow does tend to get bigger

0:11:53 > 0:11:56when it's projected away from your character.

0:11:56 > 0:11:59Now I'm going to connect my shadow to my character.

0:12:01 > 0:12:06And now I can start filling it in just with a rough scribble.

0:12:11 > 0:12:14And the last little finishing touch

0:12:14 > 0:12:16is a little bit of shading on the back of the character

0:12:16 > 0:12:18away from where the light's coming from.

0:12:20 > 0:12:23There you go. A quick art tip.

0:12:23 > 0:12:25MUSIC PLAYS

0:12:43 > 0:12:45Hi, Dad. Did you get any meat?

0:12:45 > 0:12:48I didn't have any luck at the 24 hour supermarket.

0:12:48 > 0:12:50The STAKES were too high so I couldn't reach!

0:12:50 > 0:12:52Ooh. That's a howler.

0:12:52 > 0:12:56HOWLING

0:12:56 > 0:12:58And that.

0:12:58 > 0:13:00Well, try another supermarket. This is an emergency.

0:13:00 > 0:13:04- But Ricky...- Bye.- Ricky!

0:13:04 > 0:13:08Dad's a bit of a night owl, but I've never seen him so animated.

0:13:08 > 0:13:10And talking of animation, here's one now.

0:13:11 > 0:13:14MUSIC PLAYS

0:13:19 > 0:13:21Whoa, is this magic?

0:13:21 > 0:13:24No, it's just an animation. So let's shed some light on it.

0:13:24 > 0:13:27If you don't want to be left in the dark, you'll need a light,

0:13:27 > 0:13:29or some big torches, a sheet and somewhere to hang it,

0:13:29 > 0:13:32some friends and a tablet with animation app included.

0:13:32 > 0:13:36And you can put it together in just three Ninja moves.

0:13:36 > 0:13:37Ninja move number one.

0:13:37 > 0:13:40You need to hang your sheet up and back light it.

0:13:40 > 0:13:43Then set up your tablet app ready to shoot.

0:13:43 > 0:13:45Now this animation works better when the lights are off.

0:13:45 > 0:13:47Even better at night-time.

0:13:47 > 0:13:49Ninja move number two.

0:13:49 > 0:13:52The next thing you need to do is work with your group of mates

0:13:52 > 0:13:54to come up with some awesome animation ideas.

0:13:54 > 0:13:56Think about how you can work as a team, maybe do something

0:13:56 > 0:14:01that's completely inhuman and look around and find some cool props.

0:14:01 > 0:14:03Got any ideas, guys?

0:14:03 > 0:14:06- Tonnes of them.- Yes.- A few.

0:14:06 > 0:14:09Ninja move number three.

0:14:09 > 0:14:10It's time to start shooting.

0:14:10 > 0:14:13Now we're going to do a really cool trick here that makes it

0:14:13 > 0:14:15look like Andre is duplicating.

0:14:15 > 0:14:17Because we're shooting onto a sheet and there's no depth,

0:14:17 > 0:14:19we can hide people behind him and have them

0:14:19 > 0:14:23step out at the right time. It's like he's copying himself.

0:14:23 > 0:14:25Right, let's get on with it.

0:14:25 > 0:14:29For each move take a shot using the animation app on your tablet

0:14:29 > 0:14:32and then move the scene on by one small step and take another shot.

0:14:36 > 0:14:40OK. I've sliced and diced the animation. Hey, guys!

0:14:40 > 0:14:43I think it's time to take a look at our mini masterpiece.

0:14:44 > 0:14:46Here we go.

0:14:46 > 0:14:48MUSIC PLAYS

0:14:55 > 0:14:59Nice work, guys. Whoo! Yes.

0:14:59 > 0:15:02So, grab yourself a nice big torch, hang up a sheet,

0:15:02 > 0:15:05turn off the lights and make yourself an awesome animation.

0:15:05 > 0:15:08Ninja skills. Strike a pose, guys.

0:15:08 > 0:15:09Ninja skills.

0:15:13 > 0:15:15PHONE RINGS

0:15:15 > 0:15:18'Hi, Ricky. It's your mum!

0:15:18 > 0:15:21'You're probably not up but I hope you didn't wolf your supper down.

0:15:21 > 0:15:25'I also wanted to say what else you've got coming up.'

0:15:25 > 0:15:28There's some art done from scratch...

0:15:28 > 0:15:30dis-guy's drawn the short straw...

0:15:30 > 0:15:33and you really get the end of the stick.

0:15:33 > 0:15:34How does she know all of this?

0:15:34 > 0:15:37Mum must have a crystal ball.

0:15:37 > 0:15:40'I knew you were going to say that! Bye!'

0:15:40 > 0:15:45I'm so tired now. I really must try and get some rest.

0:15:45 > 0:15:46Ricky, Ricky, Ricky.

0:15:46 > 0:15:50No chance of that with the Ninja Apprentices around.

0:15:50 > 0:15:52What are they even doing up at this hour?

0:15:52 > 0:15:54Oh, it is nearly dawn.

0:15:54 > 0:15:56Ricky, can you make art with a feather duster?

0:15:56 > 0:16:00As much as it tickles me, I'm going to have to say no, I'm afraid.

0:16:00 > 0:16:02Ahh.

0:16:02 > 0:16:04- Hi, Ricky.- Hi, Ricky.

0:16:04 > 0:16:07Hey, it's Lauren and Mark from the Dengineers.

0:16:07 > 0:16:10If Gav's a werewolf, maybe they can build him a lair.

0:16:10 > 0:16:12How about making something with...

0:16:12 > 0:16:14A broken broom.

0:16:14 > 0:16:16Sorry, guys. Not this time.

0:16:16 > 0:16:18I've DEN something with that already.

0:16:18 > 0:16:20I wonder what these guys have got?

0:16:20 > 0:16:23Can you make art with washing up liquid?

0:16:24 > 0:16:28- I choose you.- Yay!- Yay!

0:16:28 > 0:16:31- What are your names?- I'm Nina. - I'm Alice.

0:16:31 > 0:16:33Nice to meet you. And where are you from?

0:16:33 > 0:16:38- BOTH:- We're from Scotland. We're from Clarkston.

0:16:38 > 0:16:40I've been itching to use washing up liquid,

0:16:40 > 0:16:43cos I've got some art that involves scratching.

0:16:43 > 0:16:45I'll just go and grab my things.

0:16:45 > 0:16:48I'm going to start by making myself a very colourful background.

0:16:48 > 0:16:51I think I'm going to start with an orange.

0:16:51 > 0:16:56I'm colouring my paper with a rainbow of thick wax.

0:16:56 > 0:16:58So, guys, I need some advice.

0:16:58 > 0:17:01My friend Gav, I think he's turned into a werewolf.

0:17:01 > 0:17:05What would you do if your friend had turned into a werewolf?

0:17:05 > 0:17:07Run away from her.

0:17:07 > 0:17:09Can you guys make a sound like a werewolf?

0:17:09 > 0:17:12Ah-whoooo!

0:17:12 > 0:17:13Scary.

0:17:14 > 0:17:18What's the latest you guys have ever been able to stay up?

0:17:18 > 0:17:21The latest I have stayed up was an all nighter.

0:17:21 > 0:17:23Nocturnal.

0:17:23 > 0:17:25Like a werewolf.

0:17:25 > 0:17:29HOWLING

0:17:29 > 0:17:31Wow.

0:17:31 > 0:17:34All right, guys. I'm going to get myself some black paint

0:17:34 > 0:17:35and I'm going to mix the paint

0:17:35 > 0:17:39with about a teaspoon of washing up liquid. Mix it in.

0:17:39 > 0:17:42The washing up liquid makes the paint a little bit thinner

0:17:42 > 0:17:46and it means when it's dried, it scratches off really smoothly.

0:17:46 > 0:17:49Right, so now I'm going to cover my wax crayons in it.

0:17:51 > 0:17:54Once the paint's dried, I can scratch parts of it off,

0:17:54 > 0:17:57revealing the rainbow underneath.

0:17:57 > 0:17:59Now we can either sit here and watch paint dry,

0:17:59 > 0:18:02or I can use some Ninja skills, what do you think?

0:18:02 > 0:18:05- BOTH:- Ninja skills.

0:18:05 > 0:18:06Ninja skills.

0:18:08 > 0:18:09There we go.

0:18:09 > 0:18:13Now I'm going to start scratching off the paint with a lolly stick.

0:18:13 > 0:18:17It's like drawing with a pencil that changes colour as you move it.

0:18:17 > 0:18:19Seeing as it's the middle of the night,

0:18:19 > 0:18:21I'm doing a night-time scene.

0:18:23 > 0:18:25I've done some bushes. Now for some trees.

0:18:31 > 0:18:34Just do this. This can be the horizon line here.

0:18:34 > 0:18:35And the mountain.

0:18:37 > 0:18:39Its peak going up there.

0:18:39 > 0:18:42In this nice open space here, I'm going to add a bit of humanity.

0:18:42 > 0:18:44Maybe out on a camping trip.

0:18:44 > 0:18:46And no camping trip is complete without a tent.

0:18:50 > 0:18:52Alice, are they animal ears on your head?

0:18:52 > 0:18:56It's just a hair band. You can take them off.

0:18:57 > 0:19:00I thought she was turning into a leopard.

0:19:00 > 0:19:02Now I've been using a lolly stick to scratch it off so far.

0:19:02 > 0:19:04But I want to put in a bit more detail now.

0:19:04 > 0:19:06So, I'm going to go for something with a smaller tip.

0:19:06 > 0:19:09A cocktail stick, getting a thinner line with this.

0:19:09 > 0:19:12I'm just doing some diagonal lines to add a bit of texture down here.

0:19:12 > 0:19:14I'm going to do them going in the opposite direction

0:19:14 > 0:19:15on the other little bush.

0:19:15 > 0:19:18And we'll do maybe some flowers over here,

0:19:18 > 0:19:20just catching a bit of the moonlight.

0:19:20 > 0:19:22Right, the tops of these trees.

0:19:22 > 0:19:25I'm going to use a swirl pattern.

0:19:25 > 0:19:27Using a different technique in all these areas just makes

0:19:27 > 0:19:30the picture look really diverse and vibrant.

0:19:30 > 0:19:32OK, now I'm going to do some stars in the sky.

0:19:32 > 0:19:36It's not a night-time scene without some stars.

0:19:36 > 0:19:38I think I've done my last star.

0:19:38 > 0:19:40You guys ready to see it?

0:19:40 > 0:19:42- BOTH:- Yeah!

0:19:42 > 0:19:45OK. There you go. My Scratch Off Forest Scene.

0:19:45 > 0:19:48- BOTH:- Wow.

0:19:48 > 0:19:49What would you score it?

0:19:49 > 0:19:51- BOTH:- A ten.

0:19:51 > 0:19:52That's what I like to hear.

0:19:52 > 0:19:56I think it's so good it deserves a frame.

0:19:56 > 0:19:59Amazing. I'm really happy with that. Thanks very much, guys.

0:19:59 > 0:20:02- It was a great suggestion. See you soon, bye-bye. BOTH:- Bye.

0:20:13 > 0:20:14I'm really tired now.

0:20:14 > 0:20:17I might watch some TV though, to relax me.

0:20:18 > 0:20:21Mind you, there's never anything on at this time.

0:20:21 > 0:20:24Hey, you there. Nothing on TV?

0:20:24 > 0:20:26Nothing I want to watch.

0:20:26 > 0:20:30Can't disguise your distaste for annoying TV personalities.

0:20:30 > 0:20:32You could say that.

0:20:32 > 0:20:37I just did. Now you can make a disguise with a straw mouth.

0:20:41 > 0:20:46Ah, tasty. And here's how you make it.

0:20:46 > 0:20:50You'll need a piece of card and a pen.

0:20:51 > 0:20:53Draw yourself a funny mouth.

0:20:56 > 0:20:59Colour in the inside of your mouth.

0:21:00 > 0:21:01Not that one.

0:21:06 > 0:21:08Now add some more colour

0:21:08 > 0:21:09Red.

0:21:11 > 0:21:15I'm good at colouring inside the lines.

0:21:15 > 0:21:18This guy is annoying. The disguise is cool though.

0:21:20 > 0:21:21Now cut it out with scissors.

0:21:25 > 0:21:28With a pencil and modelling clay,

0:21:28 > 0:21:30pierce a hole big enough for a straw.

0:21:32 > 0:21:36Now take a straw and poke it through the hole with the mouth

0:21:36 > 0:21:37facing away from you.

0:21:40 > 0:21:43You can try many different disguises.

0:21:43 > 0:21:45Vampire disguise...

0:21:47 > 0:21:48..beauty disguise.

0:21:53 > 0:21:57..or...

0:21:57 > 0:22:00You thought I had a moustache, didn't you?

0:22:00 > 0:22:04Disguises. The disguise straw.

0:22:04 > 0:22:06No-one need know you're grumpy again.

0:22:06 > 0:22:08Ricky, I mean you.

0:22:08 > 0:22:11What did you just say?

0:22:11 > 0:22:13- Really, I mean you.- Oh.

0:22:15 > 0:22:17KNOCK AT THE DOOR

0:22:18 > 0:22:22- Gavin.- What? - You're not a hairy werewolf.

0:22:22 > 0:22:26Of course not. I'm the least hairy person I know.

0:22:26 > 0:22:27It is cold out, though.

0:22:27 > 0:22:29You're not hairy but you're definitely gnarly.

0:22:29 > 0:22:32No wonder I got the wrong end of the stick.

0:22:32 > 0:22:38Speaking of which. Take this stick, grab your board

0:22:38 > 0:22:41and let's get down the skate park.

0:22:41 > 0:22:43HOWLING

0:22:53 > 0:22:56- Ninja skills.- What are you doing?

0:22:56 > 0:22:58HOWLING

0:22:58 > 0:23:02- More importantly, what is Gav doing? - Well, I thought Gav was a werewolf.

0:23:02 > 0:23:04- A where what?- A werewolf. - Where?

0:23:04 > 0:23:07Ooh. We haven't got all night. He's just messing around.

0:23:07 > 0:23:09Speaking of getting the wrong end of the stick.

0:23:09 > 0:23:11We could make some awesome art with that stick.

0:23:11 > 0:23:13HOWLING

0:23:16 > 0:23:18I'm confused and scared.

0:23:18 > 0:23:22You won't be, mate, once we've got our Ninja on.

0:23:28 > 0:23:31Art Ninja! Strike a pose.

0:23:31 > 0:23:34- Yah! I'm Ninja.- I'm Ninja.

0:23:34 > 0:23:35Andre, you are a natural.

0:23:37 > 0:23:41Whoa, what is that? You could take someone's eye out with that.

0:23:41 > 0:23:43This is a light stick

0:23:43 > 0:23:46and you can use it to make some pretty eye-catching digital art.

0:23:46 > 0:23:47But how does it work?

0:23:47 > 0:23:50Well, it's made up of lots of different coloured LEDs that

0:23:50 > 0:23:52change colour as you move it.

0:23:52 > 0:23:54And you can use it to paint with light.

0:23:54 > 0:23:56And if you have a camera with a long exposure setting, you can

0:23:56 > 0:23:58then use it to capture the images.

0:23:58 > 0:24:00But why are we here in a skate park?

0:24:00 > 0:24:03I'm glad you asked that, my friend.

0:24:03 > 0:24:06- We are going to use our skateboards and interact with the images.- Rad.

0:24:06 > 0:24:08I've made some cool images on my laptop and loaded them

0:24:08 > 0:24:10onto this SD card.

0:24:10 > 0:24:12The light stick has this little module at the back that can

0:24:12 > 0:24:14read the SD card.

0:24:14 > 0:24:17And when I press this button it'll print out my picture in light,

0:24:17 > 0:24:19one line of pixels at a time.

0:24:19 > 0:24:22And then we capture those light pixels with a stills camera.

0:24:23 > 0:24:24I still don't get it.

0:24:24 > 0:24:27Dude. You don't have to. Today you're in charge of lights.

0:24:27 > 0:24:30Go grab 'em. And Gav, get over by the camera.

0:24:30 > 0:24:32Let's do this.

0:24:34 > 0:24:38Gav, the camera is set to long exposure,

0:24:38 > 0:24:40so just hold down the button to take a picture.

0:24:40 > 0:24:41OK, Ricky.

0:24:41 > 0:24:43I'm ready with the light stick. OK, Andre!

0:24:43 > 0:24:45Kill the lights!

0:24:45 > 0:24:47Now it's dark, the stick will leave a trace of light in the air,

0:24:47 > 0:24:49just like a sparkler does.

0:24:49 > 0:24:50Let's go.

0:24:55 > 0:24:57Let's see how it looked.

0:24:57 > 0:25:00Oh, wow. It's my werewolf picture from earlier.

0:25:00 > 0:25:03The light stick has projected the pixels of my picture

0:25:03 > 0:25:05and we caught it on camera.

0:25:05 > 0:25:06That's awesome.

0:25:06 > 0:25:09Do you know what? We need something to interact with it.

0:25:09 > 0:25:11We need another skateboarder.

0:25:13 > 0:25:16- Ah, yeah, it's Griff. - This guy.

0:25:16 > 0:25:18But if we got Griff to ollie over the werewolf,

0:25:18 > 0:25:20he'd be all blurry because of the long exposure.

0:25:20 > 0:25:23We need a flash of light to capture him in the air.

0:25:23 > 0:25:25Andre, bring that flash over.

0:25:25 > 0:25:28What, this one? Oh.

0:25:30 > 0:25:32- You OK, dude? I can't see.- Great.

0:25:32 > 0:25:36Gavin. You do it so well, take a picture on the camera.

0:25:36 > 0:25:39I'm using the light stick and Andre, you just shoot the flash

0:25:39 > 0:25:41when Griff is at the top of his jump.

0:25:41 > 0:25:45First positions, please.

0:25:45 > 0:25:47Go.

0:25:47 > 0:25:48MUSIC PLAYS

0:25:52 > 0:25:54OK, Griff. Three, two, one.

0:25:54 > 0:25:58MUSIC PLAYS

0:26:04 > 0:26:08- Oh, my days, that looks amazing! - Wow.- That's amazing.

0:26:08 > 0:26:09Look how tweaked it is.

0:26:09 > 0:26:12ROARING

0:26:16 > 0:26:18Can I have a go?

0:26:18 > 0:26:20Have you ever tried jumping over the moon?

0:26:20 > 0:26:23Great idea. You prep the stick, I'll be back in a flash.

0:26:24 > 0:26:26Guys, I still don't understand.

0:26:31 > 0:26:32All yours, Gav.

0:26:35 > 0:26:36There you go, dude.

0:26:41 > 0:26:43A cow really can jump over the moon.

0:26:47 > 0:26:48I still don't get it.

0:26:52 > 0:26:53Art Ninja.

0:26:55 > 0:27:01What was I thinking? As if Gavin could ever become a werewolf.

0:27:01 > 0:27:04Today has taught me a valuable Art Ninja lesson.

0:27:04 > 0:27:07If you get the wrong end of the stick, add some lights to

0:27:07 > 0:27:09make art that's sick.

0:27:09 > 0:27:12I'd better get an hour of sleep before the sun comes up.

0:27:14 > 0:27:18Humans turning into werewolves, hey, whatever next?

0:27:18 > 0:27:24Huh? Huh? Whoo! HOWLING
