0:00:02 > 0:00:04I'm Ricky!

0:00:04 > 0:00:06I live in Bristol.

0:00:06 > 0:00:09I work as an animator, which is lucky cos I love art.

0:00:09 > 0:00:10Goal!

0:00:10 > 0:00:13I live for art, I even dream of art.

0:00:13 > 0:00:17I draw, I paint, I make things!

0:00:17 > 0:00:18Nailed it!

0:00:20 > 0:00:25I hang out with my mates - Gavin, Michelle, Rich and Sarah.

0:00:25 > 0:00:27It's me!

0:00:27 > 0:00:29Most importantly, I make ninja moves.

0:00:29 > 0:00:31Some people call me the...

0:00:34 > 0:00:40Today, I'll show you how to make a ROARsome Jurassic mask.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43We'll be fossilising some weird objects.

0:00:43 > 0:00:46And I've laid on a delicious spread, if you're feeling a bit peckish.

0:00:48 > 0:00:49Because today it's...

0:00:57 > 0:00:58It's a new day.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00I better get my ninja on...

0:01:01 > 0:01:02..and my clothes!

0:01:17 > 0:01:20Time for breakfast. I'm so hungry.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24Empty?

0:01:24 > 0:01:25Sausages.

0:01:26 > 0:01:28Not a sausage.

0:01:28 > 0:01:29Eggs!

0:01:29 > 0:01:31Oh, what? Not one measly egg?!

0:01:33 > 0:01:34I'll have to go shopping.

0:01:34 > 0:01:36SOUND OF FOOTSTEPS

0:01:36 > 0:01:37What is that noise?

0:01:42 > 0:01:44No-one's there. That's weird.

0:01:47 > 0:01:49Well, I did say I wanted an egg.

0:01:51 > 0:01:52But this is a whopper!

0:01:59 > 0:02:00It's big enough to be something...

0:02:01 > 0:02:03..Jurassic.

0:02:05 > 0:02:06But that's just crazy, right?

0:02:10 > 0:02:13The giant egg has given me a cracking idea for some art, though.

0:02:13 > 0:02:17It's the Art Ninja dinosaur mask!

0:02:19 > 0:02:21So, I've got myself a large cereal box,

0:02:21 > 0:02:24but I'm going to need two of these, so I'll ninja another one.

0:02:26 > 0:02:28Ninja skills.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30I painted over the graphics with some red paint,

0:02:30 > 0:02:33leaving the inside lovely and white.

0:02:33 > 0:02:36I'm going to cut off this strip here on both boxes,

0:02:36 > 0:02:39but I'm going to keep them cos I'll need them later.

0:02:39 > 0:02:43Now I'm going to do a really cool paint technique by mixing together

0:02:43 > 0:02:45washing up liquid and some paint to make bubbly paint.

0:02:48 > 0:02:51Mix those together with a straw.

0:02:51 > 0:02:53I'm going to blow into it to create the bubbles.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56Don't suck! It'll taste nasty!

0:02:56 > 0:03:00Now I'm going to slowly press my card down on top of the bubbles

0:03:00 > 0:03:01to pick up the paint.

0:03:05 > 0:03:08Look at that! I need to keep doing this technique until my card

0:03:08 > 0:03:10is completely covered.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15Looking great! Just like dinosaur skin.

0:03:15 > 0:03:17I need to do the same thing on the other one.

0:03:21 > 0:03:23There we are. Look at that.

0:03:23 > 0:03:26I'll leave this piece down here to dry.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28Now I'm going to use this piece to start making the main part

0:03:28 > 0:03:31of the dinosaur's head and I'm going to draw a line

0:03:31 > 0:03:34from this corner to that corner on one of these panels.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42And then the same this side, from that corner to this corner.

0:03:44 > 0:03:45Straight line along there.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47The same the other side.

0:03:48 > 0:03:50Like that. Now I'm going to cut along those lines.

0:03:54 > 0:03:57I need to keep these bits as I'll need those later.

0:03:57 > 0:03:59I'm just going to score a line down the centre of this piece

0:03:59 > 0:04:01all the way to the point.

0:04:01 > 0:04:03I'm using the blunt side of the scissors here.

0:04:05 > 0:04:08One to there. And then the same the other side.

0:04:08 > 0:04:10Let's turn those scores into folds

0:04:10 > 0:04:13to make the main shape of the dinosaur's head.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16And these two here pinch and come together

0:04:16 > 0:04:19to make the front of the dino's nose.

0:04:19 > 0:04:22Now I'm going to add a little bit of double-sided sticky tape in there to

0:04:22 > 0:04:23hold it together.

0:04:25 > 0:04:27And then just snip off the excess.

0:04:27 > 0:04:30Now I'm going to cross over these two flaps at the back

0:04:30 > 0:04:32and, with a little bit of double-sided sticky tape,

0:04:32 > 0:04:34hold them together. Just put that to one side.

0:04:34 > 0:04:36The two bits I left at the side earlier,

0:04:36 > 0:04:40I'm going to stick them together with a bit of sticky tape.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43I'm going to grab a bowl, put it in the middle and draw around it.

0:04:46 > 0:04:48There we go.

0:04:48 > 0:04:51I'm going to draw some lines from the circle to the edge of the box,

0:04:51 > 0:04:55which will make the curved shape of the dinosaur's jaw.

0:04:55 > 0:04:56Don't need this any more.

0:04:59 > 0:05:03Pinch these pieces to make the fold for the underside of the jaw.

0:05:03 > 0:05:05Add a little bit of double-sided sticky tape in there

0:05:05 > 0:05:07to hold it together.

0:05:07 > 0:05:10Now I'm going to stick this to the inside of the head.

0:05:13 > 0:05:16The other one there.

0:05:16 > 0:05:17Makes the shape of the jaw.

0:05:17 > 0:05:21There we go. But it's not a dinosaur's head without teeth.

0:05:21 > 0:05:24So, going to take one of the sides of the box that I saved earlier

0:05:24 > 0:05:27and turn it into some rows of razor-sharp gnashers.

0:05:27 > 0:05:29Hee-ya!

0:05:29 > 0:05:30Ninja skills.

0:05:33 > 0:05:37Need to make sure that the white is stuck facing the outside

0:05:37 > 0:05:39so it's got lovely healthy white teeth.

0:05:39 > 0:05:41Little bit of dino dentistry.

0:05:42 > 0:05:45This square is going to be the back of the dinosaur's head.

0:05:45 > 0:05:47I just need to stick it on.

0:05:49 > 0:05:52I'm going to add some nostrils and, for that, a couple of triangles

0:05:52 > 0:05:54cut out from the stuff I printed earlier.

0:05:54 > 0:05:58A bit of scoring and a bit of card bending will sort these out.

0:05:58 > 0:06:02Now I've done the same thing but larger to make the eyelids.

0:06:02 > 0:06:04What do you call a dinosaur with no eyes?

0:06:04 > 0:06:06Do-you-think-he-saurus?

0:06:07 > 0:06:09Yeah, I better add the eyes.

0:06:09 > 0:06:12These are two squares of card stuck on with double-sided tape.

0:06:13 > 0:06:15Now time to try it on.

0:06:22 > 0:06:24But you don't have to make a T-Rex, you could make...

0:06:26 > 0:06:31..a sparkly triceratops with glittery horns and spotty skin.

0:06:33 > 0:06:35Pretty bling! Or maybe...

0:06:37 > 0:06:40..teeth crunching megalodon, with stencilled scales.

0:06:45 > 0:06:46KNOCKS ON DOOR

0:06:49 > 0:06:50- Hi, Dad.- Ricky?

0:06:50 > 0:06:52RICKY'S TUMMY RUMBLES

0:06:52 > 0:06:53Sorry, that was my tummy.

0:06:53 > 0:06:55Got a massive hunger on.

0:06:55 > 0:06:59I'm hungry too. We could eat that giant egg over there.

0:06:59 > 0:07:00I'm scared to eat that egg.

0:07:00 > 0:07:02It could be a dinosaur's egg.

0:07:02 > 0:07:04Unlikely.

0:07:04 > 0:07:06But you best be careful.

0:07:06 > 0:07:09If he does hatch, he might think you're his mummy.

0:07:09 > 0:07:12Or worse, think how angry his real mummy will be if she catches you

0:07:12 > 0:07:14with her egg.

0:07:15 > 0:07:17Speaking of which, think how angry Mum will be

0:07:17 > 0:07:20if she finds out you're here trying to eat my food again.

0:07:20 > 0:07:23You're right. See you later.

0:07:23 > 0:07:24- Bye, Dad.- Bye!

0:07:26 > 0:07:29Here's a quick art tip - how to draw a stegosaurus.

0:07:29 > 0:07:31So we're going to start with its head.

0:07:31 > 0:07:33This will be like a kind of leaf shape.

0:07:33 > 0:07:35Over like that.

0:07:35 > 0:07:37Now I'm going to start with its back.

0:07:37 > 0:07:40I'm going to keep the back going out to a point.

0:07:40 > 0:07:43That's going to be the tail. Back in like this.

0:07:43 > 0:07:46And now just underneath the front of the neck, slide that down like that.

0:07:46 > 0:07:48Now I'm going to start drawing its legs.

0:07:48 > 0:07:49Like that.

0:07:53 > 0:07:55Drawing to the belly, now to the back legs.

0:07:59 > 0:08:03And another leg, again behind like that.

0:08:03 > 0:08:05Claws, three on each should do it.

0:08:07 > 0:08:09Let's have a little nostril.

0:08:10 > 0:08:12An eye.

0:08:12 > 0:08:14This one's happy and that's cos he's got

0:08:14 > 0:08:16these awesome plates on his back.

0:08:16 > 0:08:21And, on the tail, a couple of spikes for battling, probably.

0:08:23 > 0:08:26Couple of marks, like this, for scales.

0:08:26 > 0:08:27And there we go.

0:08:29 > 0:08:31Another quick art tip.

0:08:31 > 0:08:33MUSIC PLAYS

0:08:43 > 0:08:47Apart from the movies, the only dinosaur remains these days are fossils.

0:08:47 > 0:08:50I'm going to make a relief created by fossil-like impressions,

0:08:50 > 0:08:53inspired by artist Rachel Whiteread.

0:08:53 > 0:08:56Because, you could say, she made quite an impression on me.

0:08:58 > 0:09:01Oh, hi, Rachel Whiteread!

0:09:01 > 0:09:04I'm famous for making casts of the negative space

0:09:04 > 0:09:05in and under everyday objects.

0:09:05 > 0:09:09I've done the underneath of a bed, the inside of a bath,

0:09:09 > 0:09:13once I even did the whole inside of a house.

0:09:13 > 0:09:14And a shed!

0:09:15 > 0:09:17That sounds really fulfilling.

0:09:17 > 0:09:20Get it? Full-filling?

0:09:20 > 0:09:21Ha...

0:09:21 > 0:09:25In fact, it wouldn't take long to fill a flat this size

0:09:25 > 0:09:30with some liquid concrete and then take off the external walls.

0:09:30 > 0:09:33- Toodle-oo!- Bye!

0:09:33 > 0:09:34Phew, she's gone.

0:09:34 > 0:09:37I was worried she was going to fill this flat full of concrete.

0:09:37 > 0:09:39Well, that is a relief.

0:09:39 > 0:09:42And so is what I'm going to make - a relief sculpture.

0:09:42 > 0:09:44I'm going to start by rolling out some tinfoil.

0:09:46 > 0:09:48And I'm doubling it up just so it's a bit stronger.

0:09:48 > 0:09:50Chop that bit off.

0:09:50 > 0:09:52Then I've got my old modelling clay here.

0:09:52 > 0:09:54All the old bits pushed together.

0:09:54 > 0:09:57I'm going to flatten it out on my tinfoil using a rolling pin until

0:09:57 > 0:09:59it's about 1cm thick.

0:10:02 > 0:10:05There we are. And I've made sure it's the right size for me to put

0:10:05 > 0:10:07this little plate on it, so I can get a nice circle.

0:10:07 > 0:10:10I'm going to cut off the excess with a lolly stick cos

0:10:10 > 0:10:12I don't want to cut through my foil.

0:10:15 > 0:10:17There we go, lovely and circular.

0:10:17 > 0:10:20Now I'm going to roll out some clingwrap on top of my clay.

0:10:20 > 0:10:23I'm going to push in some little objects and I don't want them to

0:10:23 > 0:10:27stick to the clay. Here's some cool items I've got.

0:10:27 > 0:10:31Got a big old peg, couple of building bricks.

0:10:31 > 0:10:33I'm just going to push them into the clay.

0:10:33 > 0:10:37A little tip here - the deeper you push the shapes in,

0:10:37 > 0:10:38the greater the relief will be.

0:10:43 > 0:10:44OK, now I can take the objects out.

0:10:45 > 0:10:48Should leave behind these lovely impressions.

0:10:53 > 0:10:56I'm just folding up the foil around my modelling clay to make a nice

0:10:56 > 0:10:58bowl shape.

0:10:59 > 0:11:00Here comes the fun bit.

0:11:00 > 0:11:05I've got some water and some plaster of Paris.

0:11:06 > 0:11:08Slowly add the water to the powder.

0:11:08 > 0:11:11This is two parts powder, one part water.

0:11:11 > 0:11:13But you'll need to read the instructions

0:11:13 > 0:11:15on your plaster of Paris.

0:11:15 > 0:11:18You need it to be the consistency of thick cream.

0:11:18 > 0:11:20Time to pour it.

0:11:20 > 0:11:23MUSIC PLAYS

0:11:27 > 0:11:30If you shake the tray, it should get all the bubbles out.

0:11:31 > 0:11:32And I've got a little bit of string here.

0:11:32 > 0:11:36The two loose ends, I'm going to stick into the plaster of Paris,

0:11:36 > 0:11:39so, when it dries in about half an hour, I can hang it up.

0:11:39 > 0:11:41I could wait.

0:11:41 > 0:11:44Or I could use my ninja skills!

0:11:44 > 0:11:45I'll wait for it to dry.

0:11:47 > 0:11:48Only kidding!

0:11:48 > 0:11:50Here's the tricky bit.

0:11:50 > 0:11:55I have to carefully peel it out without breaking it.

0:11:55 > 0:11:57Whoa!

0:11:57 > 0:11:58Check it out.

0:12:00 > 0:12:01I'm going to go hang it up.

0:12:03 > 0:12:04Hang it on the wall.

0:12:04 > 0:12:06There we go.

0:12:08 > 0:12:09I'm impressed with that.

0:12:15 > 0:12:17Speaking of old fossils...

0:12:17 > 0:12:19Hi, Ricky, it's your mum!

0:12:19 > 0:12:21Oh, I know what you're thinking.

0:12:21 > 0:12:23Mum's not an old fossil. I was talking about the art.

0:12:23 > 0:12:26I thought I'd call you in case you call me later

0:12:26 > 0:12:30because we're going for a lovely drive in the country and a picnic.

0:12:30 > 0:12:33Dad's put on a cracking spread,

0:12:33 > 0:12:35and here's what's to come in your cracking show.

0:12:36 > 0:12:38A colourful creature made with flour...

0:12:40 > 0:12:42..art that's egg-cellent...

0:12:44 > 0:12:47..and a toasty picture that's also very tasty.

0:12:48 > 0:12:50Anyway, I'd best leave you to it.

0:12:50 > 0:12:52No doubt you're hatching up some plan.

0:12:52 > 0:12:54- Bye!- Bye.

0:12:57 > 0:12:59Something's hatching, that's for sure.

0:12:59 > 0:13:01Whatever's in there, it's definitely moving.

0:13:01 > 0:13:03A bit like this picture.

0:13:03 > 0:13:05That's because it's animated.

0:13:06 > 0:13:08Hey, Ricky, this came for you today.

0:13:08 > 0:13:09Oh.

0:13:11 > 0:13:14Thanks, Loz. Oh, yes, it's the new issue of Gnarly To The Max magazine!

0:13:15 > 0:13:18Oh. Where have all the skateboarders gone?

0:13:31 > 0:13:33Mmm. Tastes rad.

0:13:34 > 0:13:37Don't worry, guys, it's just an animation.

0:13:37 > 0:13:39And it's jumping right off the page.

0:13:39 > 0:13:44Now, to make this cool animation, you'll need - some paper, a printer,

0:13:44 > 0:13:49some sticky tack, some scissors, a computer, an action packed video,

0:13:49 > 0:13:52a couple of friends and a tablet with an animation app installed.

0:13:53 > 0:13:57And you can put it together in just three ninja moves.

0:13:57 > 0:14:00Ninja move number one - you need to select the videos you want to use

0:14:00 > 0:14:03for your animation and then export them as an image sequence.

0:14:03 > 0:14:05About 12 frames a second.

0:14:05 > 0:14:08If you don't have an editing package, you can simply use the

0:14:08 > 0:14:11computer screen grab function to grab the frames that you need.

0:14:11 > 0:14:12How about this one of Chris going up a wall?

0:14:12 > 0:14:14He looks so cool there.

0:14:14 > 0:14:16Yeah, I like it.

0:14:16 > 0:14:19All right, let's go with that one.

0:14:19 > 0:14:20- I love that one.- I like that one.

0:14:20 > 0:14:21Ninja move number two.

0:14:21 > 0:14:24Now you need to print out all your separate frames,

0:14:24 > 0:14:28cut them out and get them ready for animating.

0:14:28 > 0:14:30And once we've cut them out, we've numbered the backs,

0:14:30 > 0:14:32so they don't get animated in the wrong order.

0:14:32 > 0:14:34And as there's quite a bit to cut out,

0:14:34 > 0:14:37it's a good idea to get some friends to help you along the way.

0:14:37 > 0:14:39Ninja move number three.

0:14:39 > 0:14:41Set up your tablet device

0:14:41 > 0:14:43and then find some fun places around your house

0:14:43 > 0:14:45where your little characters can get their groove on.

0:14:45 > 0:14:49Trick here - hold them in place with a little bit of sticky tack and try

0:14:49 > 0:14:53and pick areas that mimic the original angle that the action shots

0:14:53 > 0:14:55were shot from.

0:14:55 > 0:14:58For every new animation frame,

0:14:58 > 0:15:02I use the next cut-out in the sequence of my action video.

0:15:06 > 0:15:08And to keep my animation steady

0:15:08 > 0:15:11I've locked off my tablet device on a tripod.

0:15:11 > 0:15:14OK, so we've shot all of our frames, we've added some cool sound effects.

0:15:14 > 0:15:17I think it's time to take a look at our mini masterpiece.

0:15:26 > 0:15:30- What do you think, guys? BOTH:- Gnarly to the max!

0:15:30 > 0:15:32Art Ninja!

0:15:33 > 0:15:35QUIET GROWLING

0:15:35 > 0:15:36Don't come out yet, please,

0:15:36 > 0:15:40I've got ninja apprentices and they've got great eggs-pectations.

0:15:41 > 0:15:44Ricky, can you make art with a comb?

0:15:44 > 0:15:46Sorry to brush you off, but not this time.

0:15:46 > 0:15:47Oh!

0:15:47 > 0:15:51Hey, Ricky, you little Art Ninja man, you old cocker!

0:15:51 > 0:15:53Hey, Hacker, you little border terrier dog, you!

0:15:53 > 0:15:56I wondered if you could make anything out of this old bone?

0:15:58 > 0:16:00Ew. That idea's a bit dead.

0:16:00 > 0:16:03It's HUMERUS though, don't you think?

0:16:03 > 0:16:05I better be off.

0:16:05 > 0:16:09- Hey, what's she got?- Ricky, can you make art with flour?

0:16:09 > 0:16:11That's a great ingredient for art.

0:16:11 > 0:16:14- I choose you.- Yay!

0:16:14 > 0:16:17- So what's your name?- Elliha. - And where you from?- Birmingham.

0:16:17 > 0:16:20Lovely. Well, I'll just go and grab some bits

0:16:20 > 0:16:21and I'll get on with the art.

0:16:21 > 0:16:26I've got a bowl, spoon, the flour and a sandwich bag.

0:16:26 > 0:16:30I've also got some watercolour paints and some watercolour paper.

0:16:30 > 0:16:34I want to draw a picture of an animal that comes out of an egg.

0:16:34 > 0:16:37- Any ideas?- Well, some chameleons come out of eggs.

0:16:37 > 0:16:40That's true, they do sometimes come out of eggs.

0:16:40 > 0:16:41I'll draw a chameleon.

0:16:42 > 0:16:45So what I'm doing here is I'm just drawing a nice big pencil line of a

0:16:45 > 0:16:47chameleon holding on to a stick.

0:16:47 > 0:16:49So, do you like to do art?

0:16:49 > 0:16:51- Yes.- What kind of thing do you like to do?

0:16:51 > 0:16:53- Portraits.- Portraits?

0:16:53 > 0:16:55- Of who?- My mum.

0:16:55 > 0:16:59OK. So do you want to see my picture of the chameleon so far?

0:16:59 > 0:17:02- Yes.- So far, it's looking like this.

0:17:02 > 0:17:04That's amazing.

0:17:04 > 0:17:08So now I am going to get the flour and I'm going to mix it with some

0:17:08 > 0:17:09PVA glue. Squeeze it in.

0:17:12 > 0:17:15Now I'm going to add in the flour, just a little bit at a time.

0:17:15 > 0:17:17And I'm going to stir it in.

0:17:17 > 0:17:20I want it to be not too thick but not too thin.

0:17:20 > 0:17:23So we need it to be running just off the spoon, slightly runny.

0:17:23 > 0:17:25Now this is where it gets quite messy.

0:17:25 > 0:17:28I need to put the flour mix into a sandwich bag.

0:17:28 > 0:17:30Whoo! Now I'm going to seal the bag.

0:17:34 > 0:17:39Snip off the end, the tiniest little bit of the end, like that.

0:17:39 > 0:17:41Now I'm going to pipe it onto my line drawing.

0:17:41 > 0:17:42I'm taking my time now.

0:17:42 > 0:17:45I don't want to push too hard cos the bag might split.

0:17:50 > 0:17:53Right, nearly at the end of this now.

0:17:53 > 0:17:55Just piping the last line along.

0:17:55 > 0:17:57Right, now I'm going to dry my chameleon ninja style.

0:17:57 > 0:17:59Hee-ya!

0:17:59 > 0:18:02Check it out. Got this lovely raised line.

0:18:02 > 0:18:05I'm going to add a rainbow of colours because chameleons can

0:18:05 > 0:18:07change colour.

0:18:07 > 0:18:11I'm going to start by wetting the paper just inside my chameleon.

0:18:11 > 0:18:14And these lovely raised lines hold all the water in,

0:18:14 > 0:18:15ready for the paint.

0:18:16 > 0:18:19OK. I'm going to use watercolour paints,

0:18:19 > 0:18:21starting with this lime green. Lovely.

0:18:21 > 0:18:23I'm going to start on the curly wurly tail.

0:18:23 > 0:18:26Have you ever used watercolours before?

0:18:26 > 0:18:29I've used them for art in school.

0:18:29 > 0:18:30Cool!

0:18:30 > 0:18:34Now I'm going to move on to a darker green.

0:18:34 > 0:18:35So what colour should I do next?

0:18:35 > 0:18:37Blue.

0:18:37 > 0:18:39Yeah, I've moved on with some blue.

0:18:39 > 0:18:43And I'm painting within the lines but not over the raised lines.

0:18:43 > 0:18:44Just keeping nice and clean.

0:18:44 > 0:18:45So what other animals lay eggs?

0:18:45 > 0:18:48Some fish do.

0:18:48 > 0:18:50Did you make that fish yourself?

0:18:50 > 0:18:52- Yes, I did.- That's brilliant!

0:18:52 > 0:18:55So I'm adding a little bit of pink now after the purple.

0:18:55 > 0:18:58And I'm keeping my big brush ready to add extra water so the paper

0:18:58 > 0:19:00doesn't dry out.

0:19:02 > 0:19:06Little tip here is when you switch to lighter colours,

0:19:06 > 0:19:08change and use some clean water.

0:19:08 > 0:19:10What would you do if you could change colour like a chameleon?

0:19:10 > 0:19:13I would win hide and seek.

0:19:13 > 0:19:16Oh, you totally would win hide and seek!

0:19:16 > 0:19:19Right, I'm just going to finish off just by painting the eye.

0:19:19 > 0:19:22That is just a dark black.

0:19:22 > 0:19:24- Are you ready to see it?- Yes.

0:19:24 > 0:19:26Check it out.

0:19:26 > 0:19:28Nature's most surprising animal.

0:19:28 > 0:19:31It looks like an actual chameleon.

0:19:31 > 0:19:33I'm so happy with it, I think it deserves a frame.

0:19:33 > 0:19:36- What mark would you give it?- A ten!

0:19:36 > 0:19:38Wow, look at that ten!

0:19:38 > 0:19:41- Thank you for your suggestion. Bye-bye!- Bye!

0:19:49 > 0:19:52Right. What can I eat?

0:19:53 > 0:19:54Toast!

0:20:03 > 0:20:04Oh!

0:20:06 > 0:20:07I've got nothing to put on it.

0:20:09 > 0:20:12I'm so hungry. I'm starting to feel a bit faint.

0:20:12 > 0:20:14I must pay attention.

0:20:15 > 0:20:17Omm.

0:20:17 > 0:20:19It's the grand master!

0:20:19 > 0:20:21Omm. Whoa...

0:20:22 > 0:20:24I'm OK, man!

0:20:24 > 0:20:25Greetings, dude!

0:20:27 > 0:20:30I haven't got long. I'm really hungry.

0:20:30 > 0:20:31I have food.

0:20:31 > 0:20:33Oh, great!

0:20:33 > 0:20:36Food for thought.

0:20:36 > 0:20:40- Ah.- Step number 888 to enlightenment.

0:20:40 > 0:20:42I wish I had 'ate'.

0:20:42 > 0:20:45A mechanical oval yolk holder.

0:20:46 > 0:20:48A cracking egg surprise.

0:20:48 > 0:20:50Yeah!

0:20:50 > 0:20:53You need to start with some card, dudes.

0:20:54 > 0:20:57Pierce the card with a pencil and modelling clay.

0:21:00 > 0:21:03Do it on one end and in the middle.

0:21:05 > 0:21:08Make little crosses with the card.

0:21:08 > 0:21:11Connect them together with pipe cleaners.

0:21:11 > 0:21:13Twist and lock, guys.

0:21:13 > 0:21:15Make two and connect them.

0:21:26 > 0:21:28This can be fiddly!

0:21:34 > 0:21:36Draw an egg shape...

0:21:38 > 0:21:39..with some cracks.

0:21:41 > 0:21:44Next, draw a smiley snake...

0:21:48 > 0:21:49..and give it some colour.

0:21:52 > 0:21:53Cut out the egg.

0:21:57 > 0:21:58Surprise!

0:22:01 > 0:22:02And the snake.

0:22:05 > 0:22:08Put some glue on the snake and the card.

0:22:09 > 0:22:12And glue everything together, dudes!

0:22:14 > 0:22:16A mechanical oval yolk holder!

0:22:16 > 0:22:23Cool. Lesson 888 complete.

0:22:23 > 0:22:26Thanks, grand master. I am enlightened.

0:22:26 > 0:22:29- You're a good egg. - You are most welcome.

0:22:32 > 0:22:33Omm...

0:22:35 > 0:22:37I'm so hungry!

0:22:37 > 0:22:39I think I've started to see things.

0:22:39 > 0:22:41SOUND OF EGG CRACKING

0:22:43 > 0:22:46Uh-oh, what if it's a dinosaur after all?

0:22:49 > 0:22:50Ta-dah!

0:22:50 > 0:22:54Ew! A Gava-saurus?

0:22:54 > 0:22:56Why are you looking so scared, mate?

0:22:56 > 0:22:58And why have you got all those plates of toast?

0:23:01 > 0:23:04I'm so hungry I'm imagining things.

0:23:04 > 0:23:07Still, all these plates of toast have given me a great idea.

0:23:10 > 0:23:12PHONE DIALS

0:23:12 > 0:23:15- Hi, Ricky. - Hey, Sarah. Let's have a picnic.

0:23:15 > 0:23:17You bring the spread, I'll meet you at the park.

0:23:17 > 0:23:22MUSIC PLAYS

0:23:28 > 0:23:30Ninja skills.

0:23:30 > 0:23:32So, Sarah, ready for a picnic?

0:23:32 > 0:23:34Yeah, I bought all the jams and spreads you asked for.

0:23:34 > 0:23:38Sweet, cos I have a bag jam packed full of toast.

0:23:38 > 0:23:41You haven't got anything I could eat right now? I'm a bit peckish.

0:23:41 > 0:23:43- Why don't you have some of your bag toast?- No, that's for the art.

0:23:43 > 0:23:46- Scone?- All right, then.

0:23:46 > 0:23:47Hit me with the cream.

0:23:54 > 0:23:55Do you want some jam with that?

0:23:55 > 0:23:57Oh, um... No, thank you.

0:23:57 > 0:23:59It's time to get our ninjam on.

0:24:06 > 0:24:07Art Ninja!

0:24:10 > 0:24:12- Strike a pose.- Art Ninja!

0:24:15 > 0:24:17Now, Sarah, before we eat our picnic,

0:24:17 > 0:24:20we're going to use all this toast and this spread to make some art.

0:24:20 > 0:24:22- How are we going to do that? - I'll show you.

0:24:22 > 0:24:25- You grab a slice.- OK. - I'll just open this for you.

0:24:26 > 0:24:29- I've got it.- Give it here.

0:24:29 > 0:24:30It's pretty solid.

0:24:31 > 0:24:35- And then what?- Spread it on.- OK.

0:24:35 > 0:24:36I loosened it first.

0:24:36 > 0:24:39Now, Sarah, we've got a lot of these to get through.

0:24:39 > 0:24:40So let's get spreading.

0:24:47 > 0:24:49Wasp!

0:24:55 > 0:24:58So what would be great on this one - half yellow and half orange.

0:24:58 > 0:25:01- But I'll pass over a nice marmalade. - OK.

0:25:04 > 0:25:06Right, I'm going to go nuts now, Sarah.

0:25:06 > 0:25:09I'm going to cover this in some crunchy peanut butter.

0:25:12 > 0:25:13Wasp, wasp, wasp!

0:25:16 > 0:25:18Add in just a little bit of this chocolate spread.

0:25:18 > 0:25:20Might as well. There we go.

0:25:20 > 0:25:22That's going to be a little bit of detail for our picture.

0:25:22 > 0:25:23Excellent.

0:25:27 > 0:25:29Here you go, Sarah, you can have a bit of this.

0:25:29 > 0:25:32- Bit of lime marmalade, bit of mustard.- Ew!

0:25:32 > 0:25:34I'm hungry but I'm not that hungry.

0:25:37 > 0:25:40I think we've done enough pieces now to start making our picture.

0:25:40 > 0:25:42- Cool.- Follow me.

0:25:42 > 0:25:46MUSIC PLAYS

0:25:56 > 0:25:58There we go. It's really coming together.

0:26:02 > 0:26:03Argh!

0:26:03 > 0:26:05Stop messing around.

0:26:05 > 0:26:09Sarah, have you got anything to make these wasps clear off?

0:26:09 > 0:26:10- Water?- Anything!

0:26:13 > 0:26:15- I can't hear them any more.- Great.

0:26:15 > 0:26:17Let's get on with the picture.

0:26:17 > 0:26:20MUSIC PLAYS

0:26:26 > 0:26:28Last couple of finishing touches.

0:26:28 > 0:26:31Now, I think our toast and spread art is the best thing

0:26:31 > 0:26:33since sliced bread.

0:26:42 > 0:26:43This looks awesome!

0:26:43 > 0:26:45Some might say it looks egg-cellent.

0:26:47 > 0:26:48Nice!

0:26:49 > 0:26:52Oh, no, the wasps are coming! It sounds like they're bringing loads

0:26:52 > 0:26:55- of their friends.- Leave it, Ricky, it's not worth it!

0:26:55 > 0:26:57I'll come get the rest later.

0:27:12 > 0:27:15Toasty. What a day.

0:27:15 > 0:27:16Night-night, egg.

0:27:16 > 0:27:20Today has taught me a valuable Art Ninja lesson.

0:27:20 > 0:27:22All good things come to those who wait,

0:27:22 > 0:27:25but toast doesn't always belong on a plate.

0:27:25 > 0:27:28What a great picnic, but boy was I hungry.

0:27:28 > 0:27:30STOMACH RUMBLES

0:27:30 > 0:27:32And I never did get to find out what was inside the egg.

0:27:32 > 0:27:36But at least no angry dinosaur mummy's turned up.

0:27:40 > 0:27:42LOUD THUD

0:27:47 > 0:27:50Argh!
