0:00:03 > 0:00:04I'm Ricky.

0:00:04 > 0:00:06I live in Bristol.

0:00:06 > 0:00:09I work as an animator, which is lucky cos I love art.

0:00:11 > 0:00:13I live for art. I even dream of art.

0:00:13 > 0:00:16I draw. I paint.

0:00:16 > 0:00:17I make things.

0:00:17 > 0:00:18Nailed it.

0:00:20 > 0:00:22I hang out with my mates.

0:00:22 > 0:00:26Gavin, Michelle, Rich, and Sarah.

0:00:26 > 0:00:27It's me.

0:00:27 > 0:00:29Most importantly, I make ninja moves.

0:00:29 > 0:00:30Some people call me the...

0:00:35 > 0:00:38Today, I'll show you how to pimp up your room, ninja-style.

0:00:39 > 0:00:41We create a snappy picture.

0:00:43 > 0:00:46And there's big-hitting pixel art which packs a punch.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50Because today, it's...

0:00:50 > 0:00:51GONG SOUNDS

0:00:55 > 0:00:56HE YAWNS

0:00:56 > 0:00:58It's a new day.

0:00:58 > 0:00:59I'd better get my ninja on.

0:01:01 > 0:01:02And my clothes.

0:01:15 > 0:01:17'Welcome back to my channel.'

0:01:17 > 0:01:19- What's that noise?- 'I'm outside the Art Ninja flat.'

0:01:19 > 0:01:21- Sounds like Gavin.- 'I'm just going to knock on Ricky's door.

0:01:21 > 0:01:23'Doesn't feel much like a door.'

0:01:23 > 0:01:26- Ow! What are you doing?- I'm making a vlog.

0:01:26 > 0:01:28I've got 50,000 subscribers.

0:01:28 > 0:01:29What's it about?

0:01:29 > 0:01:32It's about my life as the annoying best mate of the Art Ninja.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35So you're telling me people watch you...

0:01:37 > 0:01:39- ..watching me?- He's the Art Ninja.

0:01:39 > 0:01:41So what exactly are you filming?

0:01:41 > 0:01:43Behind the scenes.

0:01:43 > 0:01:44It's behind the scenes, people.

0:01:44 > 0:01:47- Let's go.- Well, Gav, I've got art to do.

0:01:47 > 0:01:50So if you don't mind, wait in the kitchen and stop filming.

0:01:50 > 0:01:51He doesn't mean it.

0:01:51 > 0:01:52I do.

0:01:52 > 0:01:54There'll be no behind the scenes

0:01:54 > 0:01:56if I don't do some in front of the scenes.

0:01:56 > 0:01:59So I'm going to get on with some art.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01Gavin's busy posting his vlog,

0:02:01 > 0:02:04so I'm going to make something you can literally post on to.

0:02:04 > 0:02:07It's the Art Ninja Graffiti Pin Board.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10I've got a couple of large pieces of card.

0:02:10 > 0:02:11Both the same size.

0:02:11 > 0:02:14And I'm going to stick them together with a bit of PVA glue.

0:02:14 > 0:02:17It doesn't need to be neat here.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19It's just needs to be sticky.

0:02:19 > 0:02:20Now, if you're doing this at home,

0:02:20 > 0:02:23you need to put newspaper down to protect your table.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26But my art table is made for this kind of action.

0:02:26 > 0:02:28And the reason I'm doubling up the card

0:02:28 > 0:02:31is so it's thick enough to stick pins to.

0:02:31 > 0:02:33Now, as I'm going to hang this up, I need to make some holes,

0:02:33 > 0:02:35so I can put some string through it.

0:02:35 > 0:02:36Get a pencil to poke the hole,

0:02:36 > 0:02:39and a bit of modelling clay to protect the table.

0:02:39 > 0:02:42And I'm punching four holes, two on each side.

0:02:42 > 0:02:43One there.

0:02:43 > 0:02:45One there.

0:02:45 > 0:02:46One there.

0:02:48 > 0:02:49And one there.

0:02:49 > 0:02:51So I cut a length of string.

0:02:51 > 0:02:53Snip that off. Thread that through.

0:02:55 > 0:02:57And then tie it to itself.

0:02:58 > 0:03:00And we'll do the same on the other side.

0:03:03 > 0:03:06Now that bit's done, I've got myself a big dish here.

0:03:08 > 0:03:12Some white paint. Using a sponge, I'm just going to dab on the paint.

0:03:14 > 0:03:16And this white is going to be the mortar

0:03:16 > 0:03:19that we'll be able to see through between the bricks.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21I'm just dabbing it on to get a nice texture.

0:03:21 > 0:03:23I want it to look kind of rough.

0:03:25 > 0:03:27While that's drying, I'm going to make my bricks.

0:03:27 > 0:03:30So I've got a couple of pieces of pre-cut card.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33I'm going to squeeze out a little bit of brown paint.

0:03:33 > 0:03:35Get my sponge.

0:03:35 > 0:03:38I'm going to use the same technique with these bits of cardboard.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42Just dabbing it on like this.

0:03:42 > 0:03:44Do the same to the other one.

0:03:44 > 0:03:47Now, as bricks come in lots of different colours and tones,

0:03:47 > 0:03:49I'm going to make this one slightly darker

0:03:49 > 0:03:51and add a little bit of black.

0:03:53 > 0:03:55And then I'm going to add a couple of accents,

0:03:55 > 0:03:57slightly darker areas on it.

0:03:57 > 0:03:59You can get some really nice effects

0:03:59 > 0:04:01layering up different colours.

0:04:01 > 0:04:04But if I'm going to make a wall, I'm going to need a ton of these,

0:04:04 > 0:04:05so I'll ninja some more.

0:04:06 > 0:04:10Sweet. That's a good amount of bricks.

0:04:10 > 0:04:14Now, with the PVA glue, I'm going to start sticking them on.

0:04:16 > 0:04:19I'm putting this one down here with a little bit of a gap in between,

0:04:19 > 0:04:21because that's, of course, the mortar showing through.

0:04:21 > 0:04:23Don't worry if you get a bit of PVA glue on the front of the bricks,

0:04:23 > 0:04:26because, of course, it dries clear.

0:04:26 > 0:04:28Now, I'm sticking these down in a brickwork pattern.

0:04:28 > 0:04:30The bricks are offset.

0:04:30 > 0:04:32I'm also mixing up different colours

0:04:32 > 0:04:34to make it look like an authentic wall.

0:04:34 > 0:04:36I'm just letting them overhang the edges.

0:04:36 > 0:04:37And when it's finished,

0:04:37 > 0:04:39it will look like a piece of wall has been removed.

0:04:44 > 0:04:46Right, I think that's looking really good.

0:04:46 > 0:04:49It's time for me to give it my own personal tag.

0:04:49 > 0:04:51I've got some nice colour paints here.

0:04:51 > 0:04:53Here's some shapes that I cut out from a sponge.

0:04:53 > 0:04:54And I'm going to paint my name.

0:04:54 > 0:04:56But on your wall, you can do whatever you like.

0:04:56 > 0:04:59I'm going to start with purple.

0:04:59 > 0:05:01These tapered ends of the sponges

0:05:01 > 0:05:02kind of make it look like

0:05:02 > 0:05:05you lift away the spray can at the end.

0:05:07 > 0:05:10When I change letters, I'm going to change colours.

0:05:10 > 0:05:13I'm using a different colour for each letter,

0:05:13 > 0:05:15but you can use any colours you like.

0:05:15 > 0:05:17Getting creative with my colours.

0:05:18 > 0:05:19Yeah, looking good.

0:05:23 > 0:05:26Now, I want something with a similar theme to hold my pens.

0:05:26 > 0:05:27So I'm going to make a spray can.

0:05:27 > 0:05:29So for that, I've got an old gravy pot,

0:05:29 > 0:05:33and I've cut the top off an old drinks top here.

0:05:33 > 0:05:35So I'm going to stuff it with a bit of newspaper...

0:05:37 > 0:05:40..which is going to help it stick and not slide around

0:05:40 > 0:05:42as I glue it to the lid of my gravy pot.

0:05:42 > 0:05:43Stick it on.

0:05:43 > 0:05:45I'm using strong glue.

0:05:47 > 0:05:52And now for some finishing touches, I'm going to use my ninja skills.

0:05:54 > 0:05:57So I've wrapped the gravy tube in orange,

0:05:57 > 0:06:00the top's painted silver like a real spray can.

0:06:00 > 0:06:01I've added an Art Ninja sticker.

0:06:01 > 0:06:03On the back, I've put a little bit of hook and loop tape,

0:06:03 > 0:06:05sticky side out here

0:06:05 > 0:06:06so I can stick it to my wall.

0:06:06 > 0:06:08That means I can pop it off.

0:06:08 > 0:06:11But it's got a place it will always stick back on.

0:06:11 > 0:06:13And now I can stick in my pens and pencils.

0:06:17 > 0:06:20There we go. I've always said I had good board skills.

0:06:20 > 0:06:23Now, I've swapped the skateboard for a pin board.

0:06:23 > 0:06:26Not only does he do art, he does jokes, as well.

0:06:29 > 0:06:31Now, to add some pictures.

0:06:31 > 0:06:35There's one of Gavin when he got set on fire by our animation dragon.

0:06:35 > 0:06:37Michelle on a deck chair.

0:06:37 > 0:06:39And our clown juice art.

0:06:39 > 0:06:40I think that looks awesome.

0:06:40 > 0:06:42Now all I need to do is hang it up.

0:06:53 > 0:06:56There are all kinds of ways to personalise your pin board.

0:06:56 > 0:06:58How about this wrecking ball wall?

0:07:07 > 0:07:10Gavin. What are you doing now?

0:07:10 > 0:07:12People love a prank.

0:07:12 > 0:07:14Give me that phone right...

0:07:15 > 0:07:17And they love seeing you fall over.

0:07:17 > 0:07:19Give it here. Give me that phone, Gavin.

0:07:19 > 0:07:21Keep this going, Ricky.

0:07:21 > 0:07:24This is great. We're going to go viral.

0:07:26 > 0:07:28Did that picture just move?

0:07:28 > 0:07:31Yeah, that's because it's animated.

0:07:31 > 0:07:33No. No, no, no.

0:07:34 > 0:07:36- SHE LAUGHS - You...

0:07:40 > 0:07:42- Yeah.- What is Anna doing?

0:07:42 > 0:07:44So, I mean, what can you do?

0:07:44 > 0:07:45Nothing.

0:07:45 > 0:07:48Hey, guys. Have you met my friend Bill?

0:07:49 > 0:07:51- BOTH:- No.- Go on, shake his hand.

0:07:51 > 0:07:52Hi, Bill.

0:07:53 > 0:07:57Don't worry, Bill's fine, and he's not real.

0:07:57 > 0:08:00And you can make this cool flour animation with a glass dish,

0:08:00 > 0:08:03a bag of flour, and a tablet with animation app installed.

0:08:03 > 0:08:06And you can put it together in just three ninja moves.

0:08:06 > 0:08:08Ninja move number one.

0:08:08 > 0:08:10Right, so the first thing you need to do...

0:08:10 > 0:08:11- Right, I'm off.- Why?

0:08:11 > 0:08:13I don't want to get covered in flour.

0:08:13 > 0:08:15Oh, well, the first thing you need to do

0:08:15 > 0:08:18is make sure you've got permission to use the flour.

0:08:18 > 0:08:19Normally, this animation is done with sand

0:08:19 > 0:08:21and called sand animation.

0:08:21 > 0:08:22But flour works just as well.

0:08:22 > 0:08:25Use a glass dish or any cooking dish,

0:08:25 > 0:08:27just to keep the animation nice and tidy.

0:08:27 > 0:08:28Ninja move number two.

0:08:28 > 0:08:31You need to make sure you've got the right depth of flour.

0:08:31 > 0:08:34Too much, you won't get a defined line.

0:08:34 > 0:08:36Too little, you won't be able to draw in it at all.

0:08:36 > 0:08:39Ninja move number three.

0:08:39 > 0:08:40Now, it's time to start shooting.

0:08:40 > 0:08:42With this kind of animation,

0:08:42 > 0:08:44it's great to let your imagination run wild,

0:08:44 > 0:08:47continually let each line evolve into a new shape,

0:08:47 > 0:08:49a new character or a new object.

0:08:49 > 0:08:51And what's real fun here is tagging in your mates

0:08:51 > 0:08:53so that they'll have a go, too.

0:08:59 > 0:09:02You'll need to add lines and erase lines as you go.

0:09:02 > 0:09:05Each time you do this, grab a frame on your device.

0:09:08 > 0:09:10OK, so we've shot all of our frames.

0:09:10 > 0:09:12Added some cool sound effects.

0:09:12 > 0:09:13We've stroked Stanley.

0:09:13 > 0:09:16Now, I think it's time to take a look at our mini masterpiece.

0:09:34 > 0:09:36Wow! I'm really impressed with that.

0:09:46 > 0:09:48- Mm. Delicious.- What are you doing now?

0:09:48 > 0:09:50Here, try this refreshing cumquat

0:09:50 > 0:09:52and quinoa-ade drink for the vlog.

0:09:58 > 0:10:00LIQUID BUBBLES

0:10:01 > 0:10:02That's disgusting.

0:10:02 > 0:10:04Why are you drinking that?

0:10:04 > 0:10:07The drinks people sponsored the vlog.

0:10:07 > 0:10:08Well, can I sponsor you

0:10:08 > 0:10:09to leave me alone, please?

0:10:16 > 0:10:18Gavin's been making a splash with his vlog.

0:10:18 > 0:10:21An artist that made a bigger splash was Andy Warhol.

0:10:21 > 0:10:23Hi, Ricky.

0:10:23 > 0:10:26Is that you, Andy? I didn't recognise you with the big shades.

0:10:26 > 0:10:29Yes, I'm incognito.

0:10:29 > 0:10:31I thought you were in Pop Art Periodical.

0:10:31 > 0:10:34I was one of the leading artists of pop art.

0:10:34 > 0:10:38And when I'm not on magazines, I was publishing my own.

0:10:38 > 0:10:41I started an art studio called The Factory.

0:10:41 > 0:10:43Here's some of my work now.

0:10:45 > 0:10:50I was also the person who coined the phrase "15 minutes of fame."

0:10:50 > 0:10:52I notice you're on series three,

0:10:52 > 0:10:55so you're having more than your fair share.

0:10:55 > 0:10:57Thanks, Andy. Didn't you once make a film

0:10:57 > 0:10:58that featured a friend of yours

0:10:58 > 0:11:00sleeping for six hours?

0:11:00 > 0:11:03ANDY SNORES

0:11:03 > 0:11:07Charming. Andy Warhol was known for his colourful prints.

0:11:07 > 0:11:09So I'm going to have a crack at one now.

0:11:09 > 0:11:12So I've got some old scrap bits of paper here.

0:11:12 > 0:11:15And I'm going to position them in a way that I like.

0:11:15 > 0:11:19These bits of paper can be leftovers from other art projects.

0:11:21 > 0:11:23I'm going to do a picture of a camera.

0:11:23 > 0:11:26So I'm going to arrange these in a way that suggests that.

0:11:28 > 0:11:32Andy Warhol is known for making art that's not quite perfect.

0:11:32 > 0:11:35So using scraps is great for this art.

0:11:35 > 0:11:37This green bit here for the lens.

0:11:38 > 0:11:41And another one up here for the flash.

0:11:41 > 0:11:43Going to pop that to one side for a second.

0:11:43 > 0:11:44Now, I've got a plain piece of A4.

0:11:44 > 0:11:47I'm using this dark oil pastel

0:11:47 > 0:11:49to fill in an area on this paper.

0:11:49 > 0:11:51I want this to have quite a thick coverage

0:11:51 > 0:11:53because I'm going to use it for printing.

0:11:55 > 0:11:57You don't have to colour in the whole piece of paper,

0:11:57 > 0:12:00just an area that would be the size of the picture.

0:12:00 > 0:12:01Use any colour you like.

0:12:03 > 0:12:04I think that's pretty good.

0:12:04 > 0:12:07I'm going to lay this on top of my coloured paper.

0:12:11 > 0:12:14And with a normal ballpoint pen, draw my picture on the back.

0:12:17 > 0:12:19I want to have a nice, crisp, clean print,

0:12:19 > 0:12:21so I'm just doing a line drawing.

0:12:23 > 0:12:24A flash up here.

0:12:26 > 0:12:28If you think the paper's going to move,

0:12:28 > 0:12:32tack it or stick it down to keep it still.

0:12:32 > 0:12:33This one for the lens.

0:12:37 > 0:12:38I'm drawing a camera.

0:12:38 > 0:12:40You can draw anything you like.

0:12:44 > 0:12:47OK. Now I can take it off and reveal my print.

0:12:49 > 0:12:52Oh, look at that. Lovely crisp, black lines.

0:12:52 > 0:12:53The great thing about this technique

0:12:53 > 0:12:56is I can use my print paper again and again.

0:12:56 > 0:12:58To make my work of art more like Andy Warhol's,

0:12:58 > 0:13:01I'm going to need some more colourful prints.

0:13:01 > 0:13:03So I'll use my ninja skills.

0:13:03 > 0:13:07There we go. Now, I'm going to arrange them like Andy would have.

0:13:12 > 0:13:14Now, the great thing about this technique is,

0:13:14 > 0:13:16although they kind of all look very, very similar,

0:13:16 > 0:13:19there's these lovely little imperfections

0:13:19 > 0:13:21that sets each one apart.

0:13:21 > 0:13:23And I think it's so good, it deserves a frame.

0:13:23 > 0:13:26A colourful print worthy of Andy Warhol himself.

0:13:35 > 0:13:37Dare I ask?

0:13:37 > 0:13:38I'm doing a challenge video.

0:13:38 > 0:13:41I've got to keep my hand in the ice and stand on one leg

0:13:41 > 0:13:44- for as long as possible. - TELEPHONE RINGS

0:13:44 > 0:13:45Oh, Gav, could you get that?

0:13:45 > 0:13:48I can't, Ricky. I'm a bit busy, mate.

0:13:49 > 0:13:52- ANSWERING MACHINE:- 'Hi, Ricky. It's your mum.

0:13:52 > 0:13:55'If you see Gavin, can you tell him I've given his blog a like?

0:13:55 > 0:13:57'I also like what's still to come.'

0:13:59 > 0:14:02'Striking art by a striking character.'

0:14:02 > 0:14:04Strike.

0:14:04 > 0:14:07'Eye-catching stuff with the ninja apprentices...

0:14:08 > 0:14:11'..and memorable art with memo notes.'

0:14:11 > 0:14:14We're getting some great comments on this.

0:14:14 > 0:14:16'Right, need to do my status update.

0:14:16 > 0:14:21'Lol. And that doesn't mean lots of love, Ricky, lol.'

0:14:21 > 0:14:24I know. Hey, Gav, I'm going to do some art.

0:14:24 > 0:14:26- Want to come and help?- I can't.

0:14:26 > 0:14:28I'm trying to finish this challenge video.

0:14:30 > 0:14:31Here's a quick art tip,

0:14:31 > 0:14:34how to draw a Japanese-style cartoon character.

0:14:34 > 0:14:35Now, I'm going to start with her head.

0:14:35 > 0:14:38That's going to be quite a bit bigger than the body.

0:14:38 > 0:14:39Nice, big round face.

0:14:39 > 0:14:42And I'm going to add some hair.

0:14:42 > 0:14:43Little spiky fringe.

0:14:47 > 0:14:49And as these characters are always quite cutesy,

0:14:49 > 0:14:52I'm going to add some bows and a couple of bunches.

0:14:52 > 0:14:54Now onto the eyes.

0:14:54 > 0:14:56And characteristically, they're quite big on the face.

0:14:57 > 0:15:01Like that. And then nice, big pupils,

0:15:01 > 0:15:03with reflections.

0:15:03 > 0:15:06And I'm just doing a couple of circles and half moons.

0:15:08 > 0:15:11Colour those bits in black, leaving the reflections blank.

0:15:11 > 0:15:13And just little flicks for eyelashes.

0:15:16 > 0:15:19Little button nose.

0:15:19 > 0:15:21Happy mouth. Now, as I said, a smaller body,

0:15:21 > 0:15:23definitely not in proportion with the head.

0:15:24 > 0:15:27Little thumbs up.

0:15:27 > 0:15:28And another one.

0:15:29 > 0:15:31Going to give her a skirt with pleats,

0:15:31 > 0:15:33so they are overlapping lines like this.

0:15:36 > 0:15:38Then her legs, down like this.

0:15:38 > 0:15:40And little feet turning in.

0:15:41 > 0:15:42There we go.

0:15:45 > 0:15:47Another quick art tip.

0:15:56 > 0:15:58Gav, are you still doing that challenge?

0:15:58 > 0:16:01Yeah, and I got nearly 1,000 likes. Look!

0:16:01 > 0:16:03Wow. Impressive.

0:16:03 > 0:16:05It is quite painful, though.

0:16:05 > 0:16:09I imagine it is. It's a shame you are too busy to film this guy.

0:16:09 > 0:16:10Ummmmmmm.

0:16:10 > 0:16:12He'd be great for the vlog.

0:16:12 > 0:16:14- Ummm. - CRASH!

0:16:14 > 0:16:15I'm OK, man.

0:16:16 > 0:16:18Greetings, dude.

0:16:18 > 0:16:20Ah, the Grandmaster.

0:16:20 > 0:16:23With stunts like that, you could go viral.

0:16:23 > 0:16:24Sure.

0:16:26 > 0:16:30Step number 1989 to enlightenment.

0:16:30 > 0:16:33Facing bowling with a smile.

0:16:35 > 0:16:37Emoji skittles.

0:16:37 > 0:16:39That's right, dude.

0:16:39 > 0:16:42Pour PVA glue into a cup.

0:16:43 > 0:16:45Then, add some paint.

0:16:45 > 0:16:47Yellow for emojis.

0:16:47 > 0:16:48Mix them together.

0:16:48 > 0:16:52This is half paint and half glue, dudes.

0:16:52 > 0:16:54Get a plastic drinks bottle.

0:16:54 > 0:16:57Pour in some glue and paint mixture.

0:16:58 > 0:17:00Put the lid on tight, guys.

0:17:01 > 0:17:03Then shake it

0:17:03 > 0:17:05until it's all yellow.

0:17:05 > 0:17:07Take the lid off.

0:17:07 > 0:17:08And let it dry.

0:17:10 > 0:17:11Put the lid back on.

0:17:13 > 0:17:16Now, stick on emoji features.

0:17:16 > 0:17:18Any expression you like, dudes.

0:17:20 > 0:17:23You can make a whole set of skittles.

0:17:24 > 0:17:25Yeah.

0:17:25 > 0:17:27Guess my emotion, dude.

0:17:29 > 0:17:30Happy?

0:17:31 > 0:17:32Sad?

0:17:33 > 0:17:35Constipated?

0:17:35 > 0:17:38Lesson 1989 complete.

0:17:38 > 0:17:40Time to bowl.

0:17:44 > 0:17:46Strike.

0:17:48 > 0:17:50Thank you, Grandmaster.

0:17:50 > 0:17:52I am bowled over.

0:17:52 > 0:17:54And enlightened.

0:17:54 > 0:17:55You are most welcome.

0:17:58 > 0:18:00Ummmmm.

0:18:01 > 0:18:04BOTH: Ricky, Ricky, Ricky.

0:18:04 > 0:18:06You did that without moving your lips.

0:18:06 > 0:18:09It wasn't me, I think it was the ninja apprentices.

0:18:11 > 0:18:14Can you make art with an alarm clock?

0:18:14 > 0:18:15Sorry, haven't got time for that one now.

0:18:15 > 0:18:17- BOTH:- Aw.

0:18:17 > 0:18:21- Hi, Ricky.- Hey! It's Billie from Dixie.

0:18:21 > 0:18:24I was hoping you could help me make something out of this old keyboard.

0:18:24 > 0:18:25You must have your wires crossed.

0:18:25 > 0:18:29- Aw.- Sorry, but I think it's time to log off from this one.

0:18:29 > 0:18:31Hey, what have these guys got?

0:18:31 > 0:18:34Ricky, can you make art from a cereal box?

0:18:34 > 0:18:36It's about time I was less flaky.

0:18:36 > 0:18:37All right, I choose you.

0:18:37 > 0:18:39Yay.

0:18:39 > 0:18:41So what are your names?

0:18:41 > 0:18:43- Nathanial.- Isabella.

0:18:43 > 0:18:45- And where are you guys from? BOTH:- Bradford.

0:18:45 > 0:18:47So art with a cereal box is a great suggestion.

0:18:47 > 0:18:49But I'm going to need something else from you, as well.

0:18:49 > 0:18:51Isabella, can you come up to the screen?

0:18:51 > 0:18:54I need to take a picture of your eye.

0:18:54 > 0:18:56That's it, closer. Closer.

0:18:56 > 0:18:59OK. And got it, thank you.

0:18:59 > 0:19:00And now, close the eye.

0:19:02 > 0:19:05Got that one as well. Just going to go and print those out.

0:19:07 > 0:19:10I've got the two lovely pictures of your eye.

0:19:10 > 0:19:12One open,

0:19:12 > 0:19:14and one closed. And I've got myself...

0:19:15 > 0:19:17..a trusty cereal box.

0:19:17 > 0:19:19I'm going to start by just cutting off the front panel,

0:19:19 > 0:19:22the bottom and the back.

0:19:22 > 0:19:24Gavin's popping up vlogging all over the place today.

0:19:24 > 0:19:27If you were to do a vlog, what would you do a vlog about?

0:19:27 > 0:19:29Computer games?

0:19:29 > 0:19:30How about you, Nathanial?

0:19:30 > 0:19:33How many backflips I can do in five minutes.

0:19:33 > 0:19:35That's a good idea, a challenge vlog.

0:19:35 > 0:19:37Right, so just got your eyes here.

0:19:37 > 0:19:39And I'm going to use a ruler.

0:19:39 > 0:19:42I'm going to draw lines along it the same width as the ruler.

0:19:42 > 0:19:45I guess if I did a vlog, I would do an art-based vlog.

0:19:45 > 0:19:46Or maybe like a ninja vlog.

0:19:47 > 0:19:49Now, I'm just going to draw the same lines,

0:19:49 > 0:19:52the width of the ruler on the other eye.

0:19:52 > 0:19:55So do you guys have a favourite artist?

0:19:55 > 0:19:58- David Hockney.- I was kind of hoping you'd say me.

0:19:58 > 0:20:00Equal to you, too.

0:20:00 > 0:20:03Yes. I'm just going to cut your eye into strips now.

0:20:03 > 0:20:05So the open one, I'm going to cut along these lines.

0:20:05 > 0:20:07And its important when I organise them

0:20:07 > 0:20:08that I keep them in the right order.

0:20:08 > 0:20:10Because it's kind of hard to see

0:20:10 > 0:20:11what they are when they are in strips.

0:20:11 > 0:20:14And with this technique, you don't have to use pictures of eyes.

0:20:14 > 0:20:16You can use anything you like.

0:20:16 > 0:20:18I've finished with the open eye now.

0:20:18 > 0:20:20And I'm moving on to the closed one.

0:20:20 > 0:20:24Your eyelashes on your closed eye look really strange zoomed in.

0:20:24 > 0:20:27It's kind of like a moustache, or maybe a mono brow.

0:20:27 > 0:20:28Oh, yeah.

0:20:29 > 0:20:32Now, I'm going to stick down the pictures of your eye

0:20:32 > 0:20:33to my piece of card.

0:20:33 > 0:20:34That's just with a glue stick.

0:20:34 > 0:20:37And I'm going to alternate between the two piles.

0:20:37 > 0:20:42So one strip of eye open, one strip of eye closed, all the way along.

0:20:42 > 0:20:43There we go.

0:20:43 > 0:20:45So do you guys have any hobbies?

0:20:45 > 0:20:50Eating, sleeping, video games, art.

0:20:50 > 0:20:51Sounds like pretty much what I do.

0:20:51 > 0:20:53I'm just going to show you guys how I'm getting on,

0:20:53 > 0:20:55cos I think it looks super weird.

0:20:55 > 0:20:58It's like strips of your eye alternatively stuck along.

0:20:58 > 0:21:00It looks really alien, doesn't it?

0:21:00 > 0:21:03- Yeah.- Cut off this excess bit cos we don't need that.

0:21:04 > 0:21:07Now, I'm going to use a ruler and the back of my scissors

0:21:07 > 0:21:10to score a line between where the pictures meet.

0:21:10 > 0:21:12This is to help it fold.

0:21:12 > 0:21:14If you are scoring at home,

0:21:14 > 0:21:16make sure you put a mat down to protect the table.

0:21:16 > 0:21:19What's your favourite kind of art to do?

0:21:19 > 0:21:21I like doing pointillism.

0:21:21 > 0:21:26- Wow.- It's like ordinary painting but then you just do dots on it.

0:21:26 > 0:21:28Amazing.

0:21:28 > 0:21:30Now, I'm going to fold it along my scored lines

0:21:30 > 0:21:31into a zigzag shape.

0:21:31 > 0:21:35So over, and then turn it over, and fold it back again.

0:21:35 > 0:21:36This is called a concertina.

0:21:37 > 0:21:39You guys ready to see it?

0:21:39 > 0:21:42- Yeah.- OK, there's two parts to see.

0:21:42 > 0:21:44- Here's the first one. BOTH:- Cool.

0:21:45 > 0:21:47And here's the second.

0:21:47 > 0:21:50- BOTH:- Cool.

0:21:50 > 0:21:52So it kind of looks like it's blinking.

0:21:52 > 0:21:54- Does it work? BOTH:- Yeah.

0:21:54 > 0:21:56So can you see yourselves making this?

0:21:56 > 0:21:58- BOTH:- EYE think so.

0:21:58 > 0:22:00See what they did there?

0:22:00 > 0:22:02What would you score it?

0:22:02 > 0:22:05- BOTH:- We'd give it a ten.

0:22:05 > 0:22:07With a massive, beautiful eye in the middle?

0:22:07 > 0:22:08An EYE ten.

0:22:08 > 0:22:11How about we have an EYE five?

0:22:11 > 0:22:13Thanks very much, guys, great suggestion.

0:22:13 > 0:22:15- BOTH:- Bye, Ricky.

0:22:23 > 0:22:25All right, Gav? You look chuffed.

0:22:25 > 0:22:27We've just hit one million likes.

0:22:27 > 0:22:29And that's good, why?

0:22:29 > 0:22:33Well, the more likes we get, the more famous we become.

0:22:33 > 0:22:35We could be internet millionaires.

0:22:35 > 0:22:37I like the sound of that.

0:22:37 > 0:22:40We could get more likes by doing epic art online.

0:22:40 > 0:22:42You're on.

0:22:52 > 0:22:54Ninja skills.

0:22:54 > 0:22:55I am just going to unlock this.

0:22:59 > 0:23:00I'm just going to put my work jacket on.

0:23:00 > 0:23:02That's my desk over there!

0:23:03 > 0:23:06Gav, who would have thought you actually would have a job

0:23:06 > 0:23:08outside of being my annoying best friend?

0:23:08 > 0:23:10- I know, right?- Let's get this thing fired up.

0:23:10 > 0:23:13Here we go. Ninja tunes going.

0:23:13 > 0:23:14Webcam's on.

0:23:14 > 0:23:16Looking good.

0:23:16 > 0:23:20Gav, you've got an awful lot of memo notes around your computer.

0:23:20 > 0:23:23Yeah, I am very forgetful.

0:23:23 > 0:23:25You don't say.

0:23:25 > 0:23:27Turn computer on?

0:23:27 > 0:23:28Fair enough.

0:23:29 > 0:23:31Password - Gav is Rad?

0:23:31 > 0:23:33- Yeah.- I'll be the judge of that.

0:23:34 > 0:23:38Never forget you are a strong, confident man?

0:23:38 > 0:23:39Give me that.

0:23:39 > 0:23:42Anyway, the webcam is going, what should we do a vlog about?

0:23:42 > 0:23:45- I can't think.- Hang on a minute.

0:23:45 > 0:23:48Did you see that? I thought I just saw a memo note

0:23:48 > 0:23:50move entirely on its own.

0:23:52 > 0:23:55And it's given me an idea for some epic art.

0:23:55 > 0:23:57But first, we better

0:23:57 > 0:23:58get our ninja on.

0:24:04 > 0:24:06Art Ninja.

0:24:06 > 0:24:07Gav, strike a pose.

0:24:07 > 0:24:09Art Ninja.

0:24:14 > 0:24:17So, Gav, how many of these memo notes have you got?

0:24:17 > 0:24:19Ha-ha! I remembered to get loads and loads.

0:24:19 > 0:24:21Wow. Oh, this is great.

0:24:21 > 0:24:24We can use these little coloured squares as pixels

0:24:24 > 0:24:25to make a perfect picture.

0:24:25 > 0:24:28And it will get us loads of likes on our vlog.

0:24:28 > 0:24:29What's our picture going to be of?

0:24:29 > 0:24:34I'll give you a clue. What goes well with microchips?

0:24:34 > 0:24:36- I don't know.- I'll give you another clue.

0:24:36 > 0:24:39What has a killer bite?

0:24:39 > 0:24:41No idea.

0:24:41 > 0:24:43Just forget it. Grab those pink ones

0:24:43 > 0:24:45and get sticking them up on the wall.

0:24:51 > 0:24:53You keep going along the bottom. And I'm going to go up the wall.

0:25:00 > 0:25:01Done.

0:25:03 > 0:25:06What? You've got to do the whole wall.

0:25:06 > 0:25:07Oh, what?!

0:25:15 > 0:25:18Oh, hey, Ricky, we've got loads of likes.

0:25:18 > 0:25:19How many have we got?

0:25:32 > 0:25:34trying to find out what he does for a job.

0:25:34 > 0:25:36Gav's box of clever things?

0:25:36 > 0:25:37Yeah, right.

0:25:39 > 0:25:41CRASH!

0:25:41 > 0:25:42Ha-ha-ha-ha!

0:25:42 > 0:25:44Right on his sticky beak.

0:27:10 > 0:27:14To become a star on the internet, make some art that you won't forget.

0:27:14 > 0:27:17Being online constantly is exhausting.
