0:00:06 > 0:00:09'I work as an animator, which is lucky, because I love art.'

0:00:09 > 0:00:11Goal!

0:00:11 > 0:00:13'I live for art. I even dream of art.

0:00:13 > 0:00:16'I draw, I paint,

0:00:16 > 0:00:18'I make things.' Nailed it!

0:00:29 > 0:00:31'Some people call me the...'

0:00:31 > 0:00:34Art Ninja!

0:00:34 > 0:00:37'Today, I'll show you how to make something pretty fly.

0:00:40 > 0:00:43'We'll be soaring with this stained glass picture.

0:00:43 > 0:00:48'And we get our guy ropes in a twist with some superhero art.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50'Because today it's...'

0:00:55 > 0:00:57HE YAWNS

0:00:57 > 0:00:58It's a new day.

0:00:58 > 0:01:01I'd better get my ninja on.

0:01:01 > 0:01:03And my clothes!

0:01:16 > 0:01:17I love my ninja skills,

0:01:17 > 0:01:20but wouldn't it be great to have other superpowers?

0:01:20 > 0:01:22KNOCK AT DOOR

0:01:22 > 0:01:25I'll try one now. I predict that that is going to be Gavin.

0:01:27 > 0:01:28Oh. Hi, Gavin.

0:01:28 > 0:01:30You're having a good hair day!

0:01:30 > 0:01:32Hi, Ricky. Check this out!

0:01:32 > 0:01:35- Check what out? - It's my invisibility onesie.

0:01:35 > 0:01:36I got it online.

0:01:37 > 0:01:39They saw you coming!

0:01:39 > 0:01:43- There's nothing there.- If you don't believe me, I'll try it on.

0:01:49 > 0:01:51I'll just zip this up.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56Invisible! I am here.

0:01:56 > 0:01:58- Where?- Here!

0:01:58 > 0:02:01Well, that's not at all annoying, is it?!

0:02:01 > 0:02:04Well, if you don't mind, Sarah, I need to do some art.

0:02:04 > 0:02:06I'm just going to sit over here.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10If I could have a superpower, it wouldn't be invisibility.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12It would be to fly.

0:02:12 > 0:02:16So, I'm going to make the Art Ninja superhero kite.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19Pants worn over trousers optional.

0:02:19 > 0:02:23I'm going to start by getting some old plastic bags.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26With a pair of scissors, just going to cut off the handle.

0:02:26 > 0:02:28Throw away that bit.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30I'm just going to cut off the side seam, here.

0:02:30 > 0:02:32Don't need that, either.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35And now I'm going to cut this into strips.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38Two thin strips, I'd say about two centimetres.

0:02:38 > 0:02:42And some wider ones about four centimetres in width.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44Now, in order to make the fabric for my kite,

0:02:44 > 0:02:47I need to cut these other coloured bags into strips, too.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50So, I'm going to use my ninja skills.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53There we go. Lovely. So I'm going to take one of these strips and,

0:02:53 > 0:02:57using masking tape, we're going to hold it onto the table.

0:02:57 > 0:03:00And I'm going to take another colour and stick this one down

0:03:00 > 0:03:03and try and make sure that they're butted up against each other

0:03:03 > 0:03:05without any gaps. I'm using different widths.

0:03:05 > 0:03:07And I haven't really got a system with the colours,

0:03:07 > 0:03:10I'm just going to put them down in a random order.

0:03:10 > 0:03:12But I'm making sure that the same colour doesn't meet.

0:03:18 > 0:03:20Now I'm going to stick these together with some

0:03:20 > 0:03:22long strips of Sellotape.

0:03:24 > 0:03:27If you find it tricky using one long piece of sticky tape,

0:03:27 > 0:03:30you can always cut it and use a few shorter pieces.

0:03:32 > 0:03:34I'm going to peel it up.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39There we go, my lovely piece of material ready for my kite.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42Now, for the kite's frame, I'm using some skewers.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45I've chopped the sharp end off. Don't need that.

0:03:45 > 0:03:49I'm going to tape pairs of them together to make longer sticks.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52I want to make sure they're stuck together tightly

0:03:52 > 0:03:53and give the kite strength.

0:03:53 > 0:03:55Now, I'm just laying them down on top of my fabric

0:03:55 > 0:03:58and I'm going to put my second length

0:03:58 > 0:04:00about a quarter of the way along the first.

0:04:00 > 0:04:03Now, with a pen, just going to mark where the skewers' ends are.

0:04:05 > 0:04:08Little dot. Get this out the way for now.

0:04:08 > 0:04:11And using a ruler, I'm going to join up those dots.

0:04:13 > 0:04:15And I can cut out my kite shape.

0:04:15 > 0:04:20I want to take my time here, because I don't want to ruin my fabric.

0:04:20 > 0:04:22There we go. Throw away this bit.

0:04:22 > 0:04:25Now I've got this wonderful kite shape.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28Put my frame back onto it. Like that.

0:04:28 > 0:04:30And with a little bit of sticky tape,

0:04:30 > 0:04:32going to tape down the frame to the corners.

0:04:32 > 0:04:36I'm just folding round the edges to make it nice and tidy.

0:04:36 > 0:04:39And there we go, that is the main body of my kite.

0:04:39 > 0:04:43HE IMITATES KITE FLYING

0:04:43 > 0:04:46You're so funny when you think you're on your own!

0:04:46 > 0:04:47Sarah!

0:04:49 > 0:04:51Now I need to add some string in order to fly my kite,

0:04:51 > 0:04:53so, for that, I'm just using some cotton thread

0:04:53 > 0:04:54and a large lolly stick.

0:04:56 > 0:04:59Just going to tape one end onto the lolly stick,

0:04:59 > 0:05:01then I'm going to wrap the thread round.

0:05:01 > 0:05:04There we go. That should do it for length.

0:05:04 > 0:05:06Just take that off.

0:05:06 > 0:05:08So. I'm going to thread it onto a needle.

0:05:08 > 0:05:10If you're going to try this at home,

0:05:10 > 0:05:13you might want to get an adult to help you.

0:05:13 > 0:05:16I'm going to stitch this where the skewers cross.

0:05:16 > 0:05:18Just making a little X pattern, there, for strength.

0:05:20 > 0:05:22Now just tie it off.

0:05:22 > 0:05:25There's one last thing I want to do, and that is to add a tail.

0:05:25 > 0:05:27This will keep it stable when it's in the air.

0:05:27 > 0:05:30'I've taped lots of pieces of plastic together

0:05:30 > 0:05:31'to make a long strip.

0:05:31 > 0:05:35'It's six times the length of the kite, which will help it fly.'

0:05:35 > 0:05:37So, just going to tie it to the bottom bit, here.

0:05:40 > 0:05:42There you go.

0:05:43 > 0:05:45Check it out!

0:05:49 > 0:05:51You don't have to make a kite this shape.

0:05:51 > 0:05:53How about a stripy snake?

0:05:56 > 0:05:58Or a floaty butterfly?

0:05:59 > 0:06:01And they really do work!

0:06:01 > 0:06:05If I was super, I could go forward in time and show you.

0:06:05 > 0:06:10# I believe I can fly... #

0:06:10 > 0:06:12Now for some more super art.

0:06:12 > 0:06:14Ow! Mind where you're going!

0:06:14 > 0:06:16Sorry, Sarah. Didn't see you there.

0:06:19 > 0:06:22Seeing as Sarah's invisible, here's a quick art tip -

0:06:22 > 0:06:25how to draw an invisible person.

0:06:25 > 0:06:27So, I'm going to start with the hat.

0:06:27 > 0:06:31As we can't see the person, the clothes suggest where they are.

0:06:31 > 0:06:34There's the little hat. Pair of sunglasses.

0:06:36 > 0:06:39Here's their coat. And, as they're invisible,

0:06:39 > 0:06:41you'll be able to see the back of it.

0:06:48 > 0:06:51There's a tie. Appearance is everything.

0:06:51 > 0:06:54And trousers.

0:06:57 > 0:07:02The shoes, but no socks or ankles in between.

0:07:02 > 0:07:04And gloves, but invisible wrists.

0:07:06 > 0:07:09And this invisible person has an invisible pet.

0:07:09 > 0:07:11A dog.

0:07:14 > 0:07:16Out for walkies!

0:07:18 > 0:07:20There we go, another quick art tip.

0:07:22 > 0:07:24HE WHISTLES

0:07:24 > 0:07:26DOG PANTS

0:07:26 > 0:07:29CAT MEWS Oh, no!

0:07:29 > 0:07:31DOG BARKS

0:07:35 > 0:07:36Oh, hey, Gavin!

0:07:36 > 0:07:39- What have you got there? - I've been doing an online diploma

0:07:39 > 0:07:42- in balloon modelling. - Oh, cool! Show us something, then.

0:07:48 > 0:07:50- Ta-dah!- What's that?

0:07:50 > 0:07:52- A snake?- Yeah.

0:07:54 > 0:07:56Wait, that sounded like Sarah.

0:07:56 > 0:07:58Oh, no, I've just got a little bit of the sniffles, mate.

0:07:58 > 0:08:00- Here you go.- Oh, thank you.

0:08:02 > 0:08:04Anyway, I'm going to get on with some art.

0:08:07 > 0:08:10Sarah's invisibility onesie has inspired me.

0:08:10 > 0:08:12Thanks, Ricky!

0:08:12 > 0:08:14I'm over here!

0:08:14 > 0:08:16Thank you. Yeah.

0:08:16 > 0:08:19I'm going to create some powerful art you can see straight through.

0:08:19 > 0:08:21It's going to be a stained glass rocket.

0:08:21 > 0:08:24I'm going to start by just drawing myself a guide image.

0:08:24 > 0:08:27So, I'm just going to draw around a pot, here,

0:08:27 > 0:08:29to get a nice, round shape for the planet.

0:08:29 > 0:08:32Some rings round the planet, it's going to be like Saturn.

0:08:32 > 0:08:36Don't need to be too neat, here. This is just going to be a guide.

0:08:36 > 0:08:38Draw the rocket up here.

0:08:38 > 0:08:41Like an eye shape. A couple of boosters.

0:08:41 > 0:08:44A little flame trail. All the way round to the rings.

0:08:46 > 0:08:48I'll pop a star down here.

0:08:48 > 0:08:51Using a ruler, I'm going to give the star a nice starburst.

0:08:55 > 0:08:57Here we go.

0:08:57 > 0:08:58I've got an old picture frame.

0:08:58 > 0:09:02I'm going to take out the back bit, won't be needing that.

0:09:02 > 0:09:04I'll hang on to the actual frame itself,

0:09:04 > 0:09:08and then this bit of plastic is going to be my stained glass window.

0:09:08 > 0:09:09I still need to be careful here,

0:09:09 > 0:09:12because the plastic can still be a little bit sharp.

0:09:12 > 0:09:14Pop it down on top of my paper and just tack it in place,

0:09:14 > 0:09:16so it doesn't move.

0:09:16 > 0:09:19I've got a little bit of paper now to slide underneath,

0:09:19 > 0:09:21just to keep my table nice and clean,

0:09:21 > 0:09:23because we're about to do some paint.

0:09:23 > 0:09:25'I've got black acrylic paint to go over the lines

0:09:25 > 0:09:26'as it sticks to the plastic.'

0:09:26 > 0:09:28I'm going to take my time with this,

0:09:28 > 0:09:30so that the lines are all the same width,

0:09:30 > 0:09:33and this black is going to be like the leading

0:09:33 > 0:09:36between the colours on a real stained glass window.

0:09:40 > 0:09:44OK, and that needs to dry, so I'm going to mix up some colour.

0:09:44 > 0:09:46I'm going to mix the paint with some glue.

0:09:46 > 0:09:48A lot more glue than paint.

0:09:48 > 0:09:51This is PVA glue I'm using, because it sticks to the plastic better,

0:09:51 > 0:09:52and PVA dries clear,

0:09:52 > 0:09:56so it looks like an authentic stained glass window.

0:09:56 > 0:09:58The PVA does make the paint look a little bit lighter,

0:09:58 > 0:10:00but it will dry darker.

0:10:00 > 0:10:03There we go. Now I move on to my next colour.

0:10:03 > 0:10:06A little bit thirsty, though. Oh, no!

0:10:06 > 0:10:09The coffee nearly stained my stained-glass picture.

0:10:09 > 0:10:12Oh, hi, Ricky.

0:10:12 > 0:10:15- Who are you? - I'm Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

0:10:15 > 0:10:19I'm a designer and architect famous for Art Nouveau,

0:10:19 > 0:10:21which is highly decorative.

0:10:21 > 0:10:25I also designed furniture and stained-glass windows.

0:10:25 > 0:10:27What do you think of my stained-glass picture?

0:10:27 > 0:10:31Since I added an A to my surname, "MckIntosh",

0:10:31 > 0:10:33I'll give you an A plus.

0:10:33 > 0:10:36Anyway, I need to wipe you up now. Don't want you to stain my picture.

0:10:36 > 0:10:38Here you go.

0:10:38 > 0:10:40Thank you. Look out, Charles,

0:10:40 > 0:10:42here comes a damp cloth.

0:10:42 > 0:10:44Right, I'm off. Bye!

0:10:45 > 0:10:48Well, that cleaned that up. There you go, Sarah.

0:10:50 > 0:10:55She's gone. OK, now I'm going to bring in some more colours.

0:10:55 > 0:10:57A little bit for the fire.

0:10:57 > 0:11:00Now for the rings. A nice pinky colour.

0:11:00 > 0:11:03Of course, it will dry red.

0:11:03 > 0:11:07I'm going to paint the starburst alternating between blue and purple.

0:11:10 > 0:11:11Right, now I need for that to dry,

0:11:11 > 0:11:14but I'm going to use my ninja skills.

0:11:16 > 0:11:17There we go.

0:11:17 > 0:11:20Check it out. And where the glue's dried, the paint looks darker.

0:11:20 > 0:11:22And I'm going to pop it into my frame

0:11:22 > 0:11:25with the side that I've painted facing up.

0:11:25 > 0:11:27Make sure you secure it with sticky tape.

0:11:27 > 0:11:30Great. I'm going to go and put that in the window.

0:11:32 > 0:11:34And when you hold the picture up to the window,

0:11:34 > 0:11:37the light shines through,

0:11:37 > 0:11:39giving you a lovely stained-glass effect.

0:11:42 > 0:11:44Where's Gavin?

0:11:47 > 0:11:50Gav, if you need the toilet, it's just over there.

0:11:50 > 0:11:54No, Ricks, I've thought of the superpower I would like.

0:11:54 > 0:11:57The power to move things with your mind.

0:11:58 > 0:12:01The only thing moving is your gurning face.

0:12:01 > 0:12:04I'm still working on it!

0:12:08 > 0:12:11That picture moves without the power of the mind.

0:12:11 > 0:12:13That's because it's animated.

0:12:17 > 0:12:19Hey, guys. Oh, can I have a go?

0:12:19 > 0:12:22- Erm...- Yeah, all right, yeah.

0:12:32 > 0:12:34Oh, no! My T-shirt!

0:12:34 > 0:12:36Don't worry, mate. It's just an animation.

0:12:39 > 0:12:41It doesn't look like it's coming back down, though.

0:12:41 > 0:12:45- Oh!- To make this cool animation, you'll need some old T-shirts,

0:12:45 > 0:12:48thick black pens and a tablet with an animation app installed...

0:12:50 > 0:12:54..And you can pull it together in just three ninja moves.

0:12:54 > 0:12:55Ninja move number one...

0:12:55 > 0:12:57Grab your T-shirts and your pen.

0:12:57 > 0:12:59It doesn't matter if they're all the same colour or different.

0:12:59 > 0:13:02I'm using the same colour, because I want it to look like there's one

0:13:02 > 0:13:04T-shirt flying away.

0:13:04 > 0:13:06Then you need to start drawing your frame.

0:13:06 > 0:13:07A good tip when you're drawing your frames

0:13:07 > 0:13:09is to put something hard and flat inside the T-shirt,

0:13:09 > 0:13:11so you have a nice surface to draw on.

0:13:11 > 0:13:14So, what I've done here is I have slipped the secondary T-shirt

0:13:14 > 0:13:16over the first onem and it means I can see the lines of the first.

0:13:16 > 0:13:18It's kind of a form of onion-skinning,

0:13:18 > 0:13:21which means I can use it as a guide to draw my next frame.

0:13:21 > 0:13:23And it's very important that you number them,

0:13:23 > 0:13:25so you know what order the frames come in.

0:13:28 > 0:13:30Ninja move number two...

0:13:30 > 0:13:32It's time to dress your animation model.

0:13:32 > 0:13:35But make sure you put the T-shirts on in the right order.

0:13:35 > 0:13:38Ninja move number three...

0:13:38 > 0:13:40So I've got my tablet device set up

0:13:40 > 0:13:44and I'm going to need Rich to take off a T-shirt every time,

0:13:44 > 0:13:45ready for the next frame.

0:13:45 > 0:13:48That's number three, isn't it?

0:13:48 > 0:13:50'And to make my T-shirt fly away,

0:13:50 > 0:13:53'we're going to gradually lift it higher between frames.'

0:13:53 > 0:13:55So, we've shot all of our frames.

0:13:55 > 0:13:58I think it's time to take a look at our mini masterpiece.

0:14:02 > 0:14:04- Oh, yes!- Awesome.

0:14:04 > 0:14:06I'm really happy. I think that's an amazing one.

0:14:06 > 0:14:09All right, mate. Don't drone on about it.

0:14:09 > 0:14:11- Come on, Ella.- Guys?

0:14:11 > 0:14:14I wonder whether that T-shirt's going to come back.

0:14:14 > 0:14:16LAUGHTER

0:14:21 > 0:14:23(Let's play a trick on Gav with that chalk.)

0:14:23 > 0:14:28What? That chalk! I told you I've got the sniffles, mate.

0:14:28 > 0:14:31- Do you want to see something amazing?- Oh, go on.

0:14:33 > 0:14:35That's...incredible!

0:14:35 > 0:14:38I'm going to tell everyone that you're not just a ninja,

0:14:38 > 0:14:40you're a superhero.

0:14:42 > 0:14:44High five!

0:14:44 > 0:14:46Missed!

0:14:47 > 0:14:50PHONE RINGS

0:14:50 > 0:14:52'Hi, Ricky, it's your mum!

0:14:52 > 0:14:54'Sorry I've missed you.

0:14:54 > 0:14:55'Sarah was round here earlier.

0:14:55 > 0:14:58- 'Have you seen her?' - Not so much now.

0:14:58 > 0:15:01'Here's what else to look out for.'

0:15:01 > 0:15:03A soap bottle superhero.

0:15:03 > 0:15:05Wow!

0:15:05 > 0:15:07Chalk that looks like a lolly.

0:15:09 > 0:15:12And art on a campsite that's a spectacular sight.

0:15:14 > 0:15:16'Anyway, I'm off glamping with dad.

0:15:16 > 0:15:19'I'm not looking forward to it. He's quite in-tents.'

0:15:19 > 0:15:22Oh, in-tents!

0:15:22 > 0:15:24'If you see Sarah, say hi.'

0:15:24 > 0:15:26My mum says hi, Sarah.

0:15:26 > 0:15:27Hi, Ricky's mum.

0:15:29 > 0:15:31'Bye, Ricky!'

0:15:31 > 0:15:34Ricky, Ricky, Ricky!

0:15:34 > 0:15:36It's the ninja apprentices.

0:15:36 > 0:15:38Ricky, can you make art with a fan?

0:15:38 > 0:15:41I'll make art with anybody. They don't have to be a fan.

0:15:41 > 0:15:44- BOTH:- Oh! - Hi, Ricky.

0:15:44 > 0:15:47Hey, it's Isabelle Clifton from Hetty Feather.

0:15:47 > 0:15:51I was thinking, what could Ricky make out of this bunch of keys?

0:15:51 > 0:15:53Not much, I'm afraid.

0:15:53 > 0:15:54Hey, what have these guys got?

0:15:54 > 0:15:57Ricky, can you make art out of a soap bottle?

0:15:57 > 0:15:59All right, I choose you.

0:15:59 > 0:16:03- BOTH:- Yay! - So, what are your names?

0:16:03 > 0:16:04- I'm Raisa.- And I'm Anaya.

0:16:04 > 0:16:08- So, where are you from? BOTH:- Manchester!

0:16:08 > 0:16:10Well, it's a great suggestion. I'll just go and grab my things.

0:16:12 > 0:16:13Oh, so I've got some paint there.

0:16:13 > 0:16:16A milk bottle.

0:16:16 > 0:16:18Kitchen roll. Some modelling clay.

0:16:18 > 0:16:20Some special bits I'll come to later.

0:16:20 > 0:16:22And of course, the trusty soap bottle.

0:16:22 > 0:16:26Now, I'm going to turn this into a superhero, or should I say,

0:16:26 > 0:16:30a soaper-hero. OK, take this bit.

0:16:30 > 0:16:32Won't be needing that.

0:16:32 > 0:16:33Now what I'm going to do

0:16:33 > 0:16:35is I'm going to carefully cut into the milk bottle.

0:16:35 > 0:16:37Now, you might need some help at home,

0:16:37 > 0:16:40because it's quite tricky and you need to be safe with scissors.

0:16:40 > 0:16:43Because I need this handle.

0:16:46 > 0:16:48That's right. I don't need this bit.

0:16:48 > 0:16:52I'm cutting right at the bottom of the handle on one end.

0:16:52 > 0:16:54And then leaving two bigger pieces of plastic on the other.

0:16:55 > 0:16:57There you go. Just tidy this bit up.

0:16:57 > 0:17:00This is going to be an arm for my soap bottle.

0:17:00 > 0:17:02I'm going to need two of these, so I will just ninja another.

0:17:02 > 0:17:04- BOTH:- Wow!

0:17:04 > 0:17:07OK, I'm going to hold them to the side of my bottle

0:17:07 > 0:17:08with some masking tape.

0:17:08 > 0:17:10So, do you guys like to do art?

0:17:10 > 0:17:11I draw cats.

0:17:11 > 0:17:13I'm quite good at drawing cats.

0:17:13 > 0:17:16So, did you by any chance design Anaya's T-shirt?

0:17:17 > 0:17:19- No!- No?

0:17:19 > 0:17:21All right, now I'm going to stick a pencil

0:17:21 > 0:17:23to the back of my soap bottle.

0:17:25 > 0:17:27I'm just going to cover it in masking tape,

0:17:27 > 0:17:31because it kind of works like a quick papier mache.

0:17:31 > 0:17:33It means my paint will take to it better.

0:17:33 > 0:17:35I'm going to make myself a stand, now,

0:17:35 > 0:17:39by cutting off three centimetres of my kitchen roll tube.

0:17:39 > 0:17:41There we go.

0:17:41 > 0:17:43And then using some modelling clay.

0:17:43 > 0:17:45I'll take a little pinch of it off,

0:17:45 > 0:17:47because I'm going to use that for the hands, and the rest,

0:17:47 > 0:17:49I'm going to stuff inside this little, short cylinder.

0:17:51 > 0:17:54I'm just adding these little bits of clay to the ends of the arms,

0:17:54 > 0:17:56just to smooth them off.

0:17:56 > 0:17:59Now I'm going to stick the pencil into the stand.

0:17:59 > 0:18:01Perfect.

0:18:01 > 0:18:03So, I know it does not look like much yet.

0:18:03 > 0:18:05How can I make it look more like a superhero?

0:18:05 > 0:18:09Add some bright colours, like red, yellow.

0:18:09 > 0:18:11I'm going to take that as a cue to mix the two together,

0:18:11 > 0:18:13because I've got some orange paint on here.

0:18:13 > 0:18:16I've mixed my paint with a bit of PVA glue just to thicken it up,

0:18:16 > 0:18:18so it sticks nicely to the bottle.

0:18:18 > 0:18:21So, my friend Sarah's managed to make herself invisible.

0:18:21 > 0:18:23If you were invisible, what would you do?

0:18:23 > 0:18:27Sneak up on people and scare them.

0:18:27 > 0:18:28I love making people jump.

0:18:28 > 0:18:30Awesome.

0:18:30 > 0:18:33So, what I'm doing here is I'm blending the light colour orange

0:18:33 > 0:18:35into the dark colour orange round the edges,

0:18:35 > 0:18:38and that is just to give it a nicer finish.

0:18:38 > 0:18:41OK, now I'm going to move on to do the arms.

0:18:41 > 0:18:43And I want some good colour contrast,

0:18:43 > 0:18:44so I'm going to do those black.

0:18:44 > 0:18:47Right, I'm going to paint the stand.

0:18:47 > 0:18:49I'm just painting the base now.

0:18:49 > 0:18:52And, by the way, if you are painting at home like this,

0:18:52 > 0:18:55I'd suggest putting some newspaper down to protect the top.

0:18:55 > 0:18:57OK, guys, I would have to wait for that to dry

0:18:57 > 0:19:00or you guys could give me a hand with the ninja skills.

0:19:00 > 0:19:02- What do you want to do? - Ninja skills!

0:19:02 > 0:19:04Yeah? OK, go for it.

0:19:06 > 0:19:10Oh, yeah, great ninja skills, perfectly dry.

0:19:10 > 0:19:13I'm going to add the lid for my head and a couple of finishing touches

0:19:13 > 0:19:15that really turn it into a superhero.

0:19:15 > 0:19:18For that, I've got a cape that I've just cut out of some coloured paper,

0:19:18 > 0:19:19and I'm attaching it

0:19:19 > 0:19:23with a couple of pieces of double sided sticky tape.

0:19:23 > 0:19:24I've got a special little utility belt

0:19:24 > 0:19:27where this hero keeps all of his gadgets,

0:19:27 > 0:19:29and also stops his trousers from falling down.

0:19:30 > 0:19:33And finally, the chest emblem.

0:19:33 > 0:19:35Mine's an R for Radman.

0:19:35 > 0:19:37So, are you guys ready to see it?

0:19:37 > 0:19:39- BOTH:- Yes. - Check it out.

0:19:40 > 0:19:43- BOTH:- Wow! That's amazing.

0:19:43 > 0:19:47- Do you want to see its secret power? BOTH:- Yeah.

0:19:47 > 0:19:52This superhero also has the ability to look after your jewellery.

0:19:52 > 0:19:55Pretty sweet. So, it's a special little jewellery tidy.

0:19:55 > 0:19:58- That's good. - What would you guys rate it?

0:19:58 > 0:20:00- BOTH:- We give it this.

0:20:00 > 0:20:02Oh, I can't see anything.

0:20:02 > 0:20:05It's a ten. We wrote it with invisible ink.

0:20:05 > 0:20:07Oh, check them out! Nice one.

0:20:07 > 0:20:11- Thanks, guys. Bye-bye. BOTH:- Bye, Ricky.

0:20:11 > 0:20:14I wonder where Sarah went?

0:20:20 > 0:20:22HUMMING

0:20:22 > 0:20:25Sarah, is that you making that noise?

0:20:25 > 0:20:29Oh, hang on. Someone's making an appearance.

0:20:32 > 0:20:34I'm OK, man!

0:20:34 > 0:20:36Ah, the Grand Master.

0:20:36 > 0:20:38Greetings, dude!

0:20:38 > 0:20:40Another masterful entrance.

0:20:40 > 0:20:43Step number 455 to enlightenment.

0:20:46 > 0:20:50Writing implement for marking, not for licking.

0:20:50 > 0:20:53Ah, chalk that looks like lollies.

0:20:53 > 0:20:56Let's do this!

0:20:56 > 0:20:59Pour some paint into a plastic cup, dudes!

0:21:00 > 0:21:02Add a splash of water.

0:21:02 > 0:21:05Then add some plaster of Paris.

0:21:05 > 0:21:08You need about four teaspoons of this, dude.

0:21:09 > 0:21:11Mix it together.

0:21:14 > 0:21:16Whoa!

0:21:16 > 0:21:18Stop!

0:21:19 > 0:21:22Do it again, with another coloured paint.

0:21:24 > 0:21:27Pour it on the top of the first colour.

0:21:29 > 0:21:32Then do it with a third colour.

0:21:33 > 0:21:35Pour that on top again.

0:21:37 > 0:21:40Lay two lolly sticks on top of the cup.

0:21:40 > 0:21:43Grab another lolly stick and wrap an elastic band

0:21:43 > 0:21:46about half the way along it.

0:21:46 > 0:21:50Stick one end into the mixture between the lolly sticks.

0:21:50 > 0:21:53This will keep it still, dude.

0:21:53 > 0:21:55Wait for it to dry.

0:21:56 > 0:22:02Carefully, pull it out of the cup and take off the elastic band.

0:22:02 > 0:22:06Writing implement for marking, not licking.

0:22:06 > 0:22:11Cool! Lesson 455 complete.

0:22:11 > 0:22:13Wow, thanks, Grand Master.

0:22:13 > 0:22:15I am enlightened.

0:22:15 > 0:22:17You are most welcome.

0:22:20 > 0:22:22He always leaves his mark.

0:22:27 > 0:22:29Ricky, you're sitting on me.

0:22:29 > 0:22:33- Get off!- Sarah, can you please take the invisibility onesie off now?

0:22:33 > 0:22:35You're going to have to catch me first.

0:22:36 > 0:22:38Ha, missed me!

0:22:40 > 0:22:43Sarah? I'm going to get you.

0:22:43 > 0:22:46PHONE RINGS Oh, I'd better get this first.

0:22:47 > 0:22:49- Hi, Ricky.- Hi, Dad.

0:22:49 > 0:22:51I'm camping with your mum,

0:22:51 > 0:22:55and I've got into a bit of a predicament with the guy ropes.

0:22:55 > 0:22:58- Can you help? - I'll be there in a flash.

0:22:58 > 0:23:01Here's my opportunity to be an actual superhero and save Dad.

0:23:01 > 0:23:04Super Ricky to the rescue.

0:23:04 > 0:23:06Wait for me!

0:23:12 > 0:23:14Come on, Sarah, keep up.

0:23:14 > 0:23:18I'm doing my best, Ricky, but I've never skateboarded invisibly before.

0:23:21 > 0:23:24- Ninja skills! - Invisible skills!

0:23:24 > 0:23:25- Who said that?- Hi, Michelle.

0:23:25 > 0:23:27It's me, Sarah. I've got my invisible onesie on.

0:23:27 > 0:23:30Oh, like that's normal! Anyway, Ricks,

0:23:30 > 0:23:32we've got the tent set up. Let's go glamping.

0:23:32 > 0:23:35As much as you put the glam into camping

0:23:35 > 0:23:37first, we must save my father,

0:23:37 > 0:23:41for he has his guy ropes in a twist and needs our help.

0:23:41 > 0:23:43That hardly sounds urgent.

0:23:43 > 0:23:47No, you're right, actually. Let's use the guy ropes to make some art.

0:23:47 > 0:23:50First, we'd better get our ninja on.

0:23:55 > 0:23:58Art ninja! Strike a pose.

0:23:58 > 0:24:00Ow, that's my foot!

0:24:00 > 0:24:02Sorry, Sarah!

0:24:04 > 0:24:06Seeing as we're in this great campsite,

0:24:06 > 0:24:07we're going to be using guy ropes,

0:24:07 > 0:24:11mallets and tent pegs to make super art with a heroic twist.

0:24:11 > 0:24:14Now, Sarah, I can see your invisibility being a slight issue,

0:24:14 > 0:24:16because you might trip over all the guy ropes.

0:24:16 > 0:24:18So, do you mind changing into something a little bit more

0:24:18 > 0:24:22- acceptable, please?- Oh, typical Ricky, always spoiling my fun.

0:24:22 > 0:24:25I might not be able to see you, but I can still hear you.

0:24:29 > 0:24:31OK, guys, spread yourselves out

0:24:31 > 0:24:33and I'll show you where to hammer them in.

0:24:36 > 0:24:38- Hiya.- Hello, long time no see.

0:24:38 > 0:24:42- Right, get yourself over there. Let's get to it.- OK.

0:24:45 > 0:24:47Time to get our peg on.

0:24:52 > 0:24:55Whoa, Gavin, that's not the right place.

0:24:55 > 0:25:00OK, I'll reposition it here and when I give you the thumbs up,

0:25:00 > 0:25:02you hit it.

0:25:02 > 0:25:03OK?

0:25:03 > 0:25:06One, two, three.

0:25:07 > 0:25:09Oh, Oh, my, Gavin!

0:25:09 > 0:25:12Oh, you Gavin! Oh, you utter Gavin!

0:25:16 > 0:25:18That's it, Michelle, want a nice line down here,

0:25:18 > 0:25:20- right angle across to that.- OK.

0:25:22 > 0:25:24Well, we've got a whole load of pegs here, Ricky.

0:25:24 > 0:25:27- Now what?- Now we're going to wrap it in rope,

0:25:27 > 0:25:30which is finally something which is safe for Gavin.

0:25:35 > 0:25:38Ricky? CORD you check I'm doing this right?

0:25:42 > 0:25:44Doesn't have to be a perfect pattern.

0:25:44 > 0:25:47- Keep it quite random.- OK.

0:25:51 > 0:25:53OK, this will make a good skyline.

0:25:53 > 0:25:56All we need to do is fill in this whole area and I want nice, long,

0:25:56 > 0:25:58- ups and downs.- OK.

0:25:58 > 0:26:00This dark colour's going to act like a bit of a silhouette.

0:26:00 > 0:26:04- Intriguing.- So, you're going to make some nice windows.

0:26:04 > 0:26:06- We've got a few pegs in there. - Right.

0:26:06 > 0:26:09Make a square round them and then an X in the middle

0:26:09 > 0:26:12to really fill it in, a nice, vibrant yellow.

0:26:12 > 0:26:14Ricky, I'm getting in a right pickle.

0:26:14 > 0:26:16- Am I doing this right? - You should be in a right pickle,

0:26:16 > 0:26:18because that's going to be a giant gherkin.

0:26:18 > 0:26:22Good work, Michelle. Loop it round two of them and back to the centre.

0:26:22 > 0:26:24This is fun. I'm making a nice little pattern here.

0:26:26 > 0:26:29Last little bit.

0:26:29 > 0:26:33There we go. Check out our tent peg art.

0:26:40 > 0:26:43Wow! You made a cityscape in the countryside.

0:26:45 > 0:26:46I like the superhero touch.

0:26:46 > 0:26:49Thanks! It's actually a super-ninja.

0:26:49 > 0:26:51I think I'll call her...

0:26:51 > 0:26:54Peggy! Because of the tent pegs, Peggy!

0:26:54 > 0:26:56I see what you did there.

0:27:00 > 0:27:02CHURCH BELL DONGS

0:27:08 > 0:27:11Today has taught me a valuable art ninja lesson.

0:27:11 > 0:27:15The difference between glamping and camping is only in the diction,

0:27:15 > 0:27:18but invisibility is not science fiction.

0:27:19 > 0:27:21I'm glad I don't have superpowers.

0:27:21 > 0:27:23They come with too much responsibility.

0:27:26 > 0:27:29And as if superheroes can really fly.

0:27:31 > 0:27:33Argh!

0:27:35 > 0:27:37I don't like flying!

0:27:37 > 0:27:39A-a-a-rgh!
