0:00:02 > 0:00:06I'm Ricky, I live in Bristol.

0:00:06 > 0:00:11I work as an animator, which is lucky, because I love art.

0:00:11 > 0:00:13I live for art. I even dream of art.

0:00:13 > 0:00:17I draw, I paint, I make things.

0:00:19 > 0:00:21Nailed it!

0:00:21 > 0:00:24I hang out with my mates, Gavin, Rich and Sarah.

0:00:24 > 0:00:28- Agh!- Most importantly, I make ninja moves.

0:00:28 > 0:00:31Some people call me the...

0:00:31 > 0:00:33Art Ninja!

0:00:33 > 0:00:38Today I'll show you how to make a sock dispenser that's pretty sweet.

0:00:38 > 0:00:42There's anarchic art with Westwood-inspired punk patches,

0:00:42 > 0:00:44and we get in a flap with this

0:00:44 > 0:00:46animation that will send you barking.

0:00:46 > 0:00:48Because today it's...

0:00:49 > 0:00:51Day of the Fashion.

0:00:55 > 0:00:58It's a new day. I'd better get my ninja on.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00And my clothes!

0:01:10 > 0:01:13- Oi, oi!- Oi!- Oi!- Oi!- Oi, oi!- Oi!

0:01:15 > 0:01:16Ya!

0:01:20 > 0:01:22Hiya, Ricks.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24Ugh.

0:01:24 > 0:01:26Are you not going to congratulate me?

0:01:26 > 0:01:28For what, wearing ridiculous clothing?

0:01:28 > 0:01:30I think not. Catch you later.

0:01:32 > 0:01:33I can't un-see that.

0:01:33 > 0:01:36If I don't ask him what he's up to, he won't go away.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40Oh, he's gone.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42It doesn't get weirder than that.

0:01:44 > 0:01:49The winner of Bristol's best dressed personality has been announced,

0:01:49 > 0:01:52and it's Gavin.

0:01:52 > 0:01:57- Gavin?- The annoying best mate of the Art Ninja.

0:01:57 > 0:01:59So, things do get weirder.

0:01:59 > 0:02:01I can't believe Gavin won.

0:02:01 > 0:02:05Now I've got a much better idea of something you can do with fashion.

0:02:05 > 0:02:08It's the Art Ninja gumball sock dispenser.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10I've got a big bit of card here.

0:02:10 > 0:02:11And with a pen and a ruler,

0:02:11 > 0:02:15I'm going to draw out the main shapes that make my sock dispenser.

0:02:15 > 0:02:17I'm starting by drawing the front.

0:02:17 > 0:02:20I'm just going to draw a little door here for where the socks

0:02:20 > 0:02:23are going to roll out. And the back.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26This is going to be my little ramp for the socks to roll down.

0:02:27 > 0:02:30And as the bit that holds my socks is going to be made from recycled

0:02:30 > 0:02:35salad bowls, I'm going to draw around it to make sure it fits.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38I'm also drawing around this tube in the same place

0:02:38 > 0:02:40on the front and the back.

0:02:40 > 0:02:43Now, I need to cut these out, but I'm going to use my ninja skills.

0:02:43 > 0:02:44Ya!

0:02:48 > 0:02:50Here is the back of my dispenser.

0:02:50 > 0:02:54I'm going to make some sides using a long piece of card.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56Put some masking tape underneath

0:02:56 > 0:02:58the back and then lay my edge next to it,

0:02:58 > 0:02:59folding it up at a right angle.

0:02:59 > 0:03:03Once it's stuck nicely, fold it round the edges.

0:03:03 > 0:03:05Some more masking tape to hold it in place.

0:03:05 > 0:03:07Fold round the other edge.

0:03:10 > 0:03:13I really want to make these bits of tape as neat as possible as they

0:03:13 > 0:03:14will become details better.

0:03:14 > 0:03:15Now I'm going to put in the ramp.

0:03:15 > 0:03:19And when the socks drop down, this will help them roll out.

0:03:19 > 0:03:20While I've got this open,

0:03:20 > 0:03:23I'm going to make the spindle which is the turn-y bit.

0:03:23 > 0:03:25For that I'm going to use a cardboard tube.

0:03:25 > 0:03:27And I've got some pieces of card that I've doubled up

0:03:27 > 0:03:30and wrapped in masking tape so they're nice and thick.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33I'm going to glue these on the side of my spindle with some strong glue.

0:03:36 > 0:03:37You'll need three of these.

0:03:37 > 0:03:40And I'm going to hold them in place with some masking tape.

0:03:41 > 0:03:45And I'm making sure I'm sticking these down equally spaced.

0:03:46 > 0:03:48Into the hole there.

0:03:48 > 0:03:51Then I'm going to pop on the front.

0:03:51 > 0:03:53And I'm going to hold this in place with some masking tape.

0:03:53 > 0:03:56There we go. Now I'm going to put on the top.

0:04:00 > 0:04:03That's the main body of my sock dispenser.

0:04:03 > 0:04:05The little turn-y bit going in there.

0:04:05 > 0:04:07I'm going to give it a lick of paint.

0:04:07 > 0:04:10I'm using red. If you're doing this at home,

0:04:10 > 0:04:14make sure you put down some paper to protect your surfaces.

0:04:14 > 0:04:17I'm painting the main body but I'm leaving these masked off pieces as

0:04:17 > 0:04:19they're going to be painted silver.

0:04:21 > 0:04:22Painting the ramp on the inside.

0:04:24 > 0:04:26Now I'm going to move onto the silver.

0:04:28 > 0:04:31Because the masking tape isn't painted, the silver shows up better.

0:04:34 > 0:04:36I'm also painting the spindle silver.

0:04:37 > 0:04:40Now the paint is dry, I'm adding some details with a black pen.

0:04:42 > 0:04:45I'm making these areas of silver paint look like strips of metal.

0:04:47 > 0:04:51I'm doing that by adding little circles that look like rivets.

0:04:51 > 0:04:54All right, now it's time to make the clear ball that holds the socks.

0:04:54 > 0:04:57I'm making it from two recycled salad bowls.

0:04:57 > 0:04:59I've cut the bottom off one right to the edge

0:04:59 > 0:05:01and to the inner ridge on this one.

0:05:01 > 0:05:04You might want to ask an adult to help you cut these because

0:05:04 > 0:05:06plastic can be quite sharp.

0:05:06 > 0:05:09I'm going to stick these together with some strong glue.

0:05:09 > 0:05:11I'm going to glue it to the top of my dispenser.

0:05:15 > 0:05:16Make sure it's straight.

0:05:16 > 0:05:20I've got a couple of silver lids here that I'm going to glue onto the

0:05:20 > 0:05:22ends of my roll. Now it's time to add some socks.

0:05:24 > 0:05:25Maybe a few more.

0:05:25 > 0:05:29I've also made a lid from card circles and masking tape.

0:05:29 > 0:05:31Right, let's see if it works.

0:05:35 > 0:05:37Sweet!

0:05:37 > 0:05:39Can't decide what socks to wear?

0:05:39 > 0:05:41Let this little gadget decide for you.

0:05:45 > 0:05:47You don't have to make this gumball sock dispenser.

0:05:47 > 0:05:51I predict that you could make this mystical fortune-telling dispenser.

0:05:52 > 0:05:54Turn the handle to predict your future.

0:05:56 > 0:05:58Or how about this alien dispenser?

0:05:59 > 0:06:00It's a real space saver.

0:06:02 > 0:06:04HE SIGHS

0:06:04 > 0:06:06I'm so annoyed at the Bristol Best Dressed thing.

0:06:06 > 0:06:08It should have been me.

0:06:08 > 0:06:11I'm going to write a strongly-worded e-mail to the organisers.

0:06:11 > 0:06:12That'll show 'em.

0:06:12 > 0:06:14KNOCKING

0:06:14 > 0:06:15Oh, who's that?

0:06:15 > 0:06:17Ahh!

0:06:20 > 0:06:22Oh!

0:06:22 > 0:06:23Uh!

0:06:28 > 0:06:30Oh, hey, Sarah, what are you doing here?

0:06:30 > 0:06:33I was a judge for Bristol's Best Dressed Personality.

0:06:33 > 0:06:35I think we might have made a terrible mistake.

0:06:35 > 0:06:36That is an incredible look.

0:06:36 > 0:06:38- What are calling it?- Oh, this?

0:06:40 > 0:06:41The Paint Pot?

0:06:43 > 0:06:44I need to call the other judges.

0:06:44 > 0:06:47- They need to hear about this.- What?

0:06:47 > 0:06:51- No, wait.- Oh, this is so now!

0:06:55 > 0:06:59I can't believe they think the Paint Pot is fashionable.

0:06:59 > 0:07:01Call that style?

0:07:01 > 0:07:05Are you one of the judges for Bristol's Best Dressed Personality?

0:07:05 > 0:07:07No, I'm the famous fashion designer,

0:07:07 > 0:07:12Dame Vivienne Westwood and I've been dressing Britain for years.

0:07:12 > 0:07:15I do beg your pardon, Dame Vivienne.

0:07:15 > 0:07:18I became famous during the punk rock era

0:07:18 > 0:07:20and helped come up with the look.

0:07:20 > 0:07:25In one of my fashion creations, I even used a toilet flush!

0:07:25 > 0:07:26TOILET FLUSHES

0:07:26 > 0:07:29Punks are all about doing what you want.

0:07:29 > 0:07:31A bit like this.

0:07:31 > 0:07:33Could you design something from me?

0:07:33 > 0:07:36You'll have to join the queue, I'm afraid.

0:07:36 > 0:07:39Well, I guess I'll have to design something myself then.

0:07:39 > 0:07:41Exactly. Bye, Ricky.

0:07:41 > 0:07:45- Don't be a fashion victim. - Bye, Dame Vivienne.

0:07:46 > 0:07:49Right, in Vivienne Westwood's honour,

0:07:49 > 0:07:51I'm going to design some punk patches.

0:07:51 > 0:07:54I'm going to start by cutting out three squares from these old jeans.

0:07:54 > 0:07:57You can pick up some cheaply from a charity shop.

0:07:57 > 0:08:00I'm going to fray my patches to give them a punk look.

0:08:00 > 0:08:04I'm just grabbing the threads and pulling them out until the edges are

0:08:04 > 0:08:07distressed. The great thing about this is, you don't have to be too

0:08:07 > 0:08:09neat, you can distress it as much as you like.

0:08:11 > 0:08:13I've got myself some white paint

0:08:13 > 0:08:16and I'm going to roughly paint across each of my patches

0:08:16 > 0:08:19in a kind of a anarchic zigzag pattern.

0:08:19 > 0:08:22It will really make my designs pop.

0:08:22 > 0:08:23Here we go.

0:08:23 > 0:08:25While these are drying,

0:08:25 > 0:08:28I'll get some print outs to transfer onto my punk patches.

0:08:30 > 0:08:34There's Gav, a unicorn, and a guitar.

0:08:34 > 0:08:37And I've printed out the word "cool" but the letters are backwards.

0:08:37 > 0:08:38We'll get to that in a minute.

0:08:38 > 0:08:42Using a ruler, I'm just going to tear out these shapes here,

0:08:42 > 0:08:45because I want the edges to be straight but a little bit rough.

0:08:47 > 0:08:51And on this one, I'm going to tear it a bit rougher with my fingertips.

0:08:55 > 0:09:00This one, some scissors to give a zigzag design.

0:09:00 > 0:09:04I'm going to glue my pictures onto my patches face down.

0:09:04 > 0:09:06I'm using lots of PVA here.

0:09:09 > 0:09:10Lots of PVA over the top.

0:09:12 > 0:09:15I want these to be perfectly flat to my patch.

0:09:17 > 0:09:20It might seem a bit strange but all will be revealed.

0:09:20 > 0:09:21Right, now for the letters.

0:09:21 > 0:09:23You'll need to print them out back to front

0:09:23 > 0:09:27so that when you transfer them, they'll be round the right way.

0:09:27 > 0:09:30If you're using multiple layers, the transfer that you want to be on top,

0:09:30 > 0:09:31you need to put down first.

0:09:34 > 0:09:37Put Gav over the top. Bye, Gavin.

0:09:39 > 0:09:43I could wait for these to dry but I'm going to use my ninja skills.

0:09:43 > 0:09:45Ya!

0:09:45 > 0:09:47Using a little bowl of water,

0:09:47 > 0:09:50I'm just going to wet my fingers and then rub the paper.

0:09:50 > 0:09:52You don't want to rub too viciously

0:09:52 > 0:09:56because it will rub away the ink as well. What it does is,

0:09:56 > 0:09:59it rubs away the paper but leaves behind the ink from the printout.

0:09:59 > 0:10:01It's like magic.

0:10:01 > 0:10:03I can see Gav's face emerging.

0:10:07 > 0:10:09A little tip here is to use some baby oil

0:10:09 > 0:10:12because it makes any remaining paper go see through

0:10:12 > 0:10:15and it makes the colours really vibrant.

0:10:15 > 0:10:19Now that one's done, I need to do the same technique on the other two.

0:10:19 > 0:10:21But I'm going to use my ninja skills.

0:10:21 > 0:10:22Ya!

0:10:23 > 0:10:25There we go. Check 'em out!

0:10:26 > 0:10:29And these patches, I'm going to add to my backpack

0:10:29 > 0:10:31using safety pins just like Vivienne Westwood.

0:10:33 > 0:10:36Be careful if you're using safety pins because they can be sharp.

0:10:38 > 0:10:41I think Vivienne would love this technique and I bet she'd love these

0:10:41 > 0:10:43punk patches.

0:10:46 > 0:10:50I think I've got this fashion designer thing...nailed.

0:10:52 > 0:10:53My new look, the Paint Pot,

0:10:53 > 0:10:55is getting loads of likes.

0:11:03 > 0:11:05Everyone's wearing the Paint Pot.

0:11:05 > 0:11:08Who'd have thought my look would go viral?

0:11:08 > 0:11:10It's clearly moved a lot of people.

0:11:10 > 0:11:13Something else that moves is this picture.

0:11:13 > 0:11:15That's because it's animated.

0:11:19 > 0:11:20Oh, you all right, mate?

0:11:20 > 0:11:22- What's that you've got there? - This is Gary's diary.

0:11:22 > 0:11:24Look, I'll show you.

0:11:24 > 0:11:25He ran around a tree.

0:11:25 > 0:11:27He ran over the field.

0:11:27 > 0:11:29He did a cartwheel over a stream.

0:11:29 > 0:11:31He jumped on a trampoline.

0:11:31 > 0:11:34Then he was abducted by aliens!

0:11:34 > 0:11:37Don't worry, mate, it's just an animation.

0:11:37 > 0:11:38So, to make this animation,

0:11:38 > 0:11:42you'll need some paper and some scraps of paper, a dark pen,

0:11:42 > 0:11:46some masking tape, a camera, and if you like, a Gary.

0:11:46 > 0:11:49You can put it together in just three ninja moves.

0:11:49 > 0:11:51Ninja move number one.

0:11:51 > 0:11:53You need to draw out a nice big scene.

0:11:53 > 0:11:55This can be anything you like.

0:11:55 > 0:11:56Ninja move number two.

0:11:56 > 0:11:58Now to draw your character inside your scene.

0:11:58 > 0:12:02Once you've drawn it, grab a piece of paper and hide your character and

0:12:02 > 0:12:05tape a little bit of masking tape along one end so you have a bit of

0:12:05 > 0:12:09flapping paper. Now, draw your next frame of animation on this flap.

0:12:09 > 0:12:14Once you've finished it, flap it over and draw the scenery behind the

0:12:14 > 0:12:16flap over the top so it's hidden.

0:12:16 > 0:12:19Now you have to do this for every single frame of the animation.

0:12:19 > 0:12:20Your animated character can do

0:12:20 > 0:12:22anything you like, literally anything.

0:12:23 > 0:12:25Ninja move number three.

0:12:25 > 0:12:28Now I've drawn the frames and all of my flaps and to keep things

0:12:28 > 0:12:31interesting, I've made them flap over in different directions.

0:12:31 > 0:12:33Now it's time to shoot your animation.

0:12:33 > 0:12:34This bit can be a little bit tricky.

0:12:34 > 0:12:37You might need to get a friend to help you but take your time here.

0:12:37 > 0:12:39What you really want here is a nice smooth video.

0:12:39 > 0:12:41OK, so we've shot all our fold outs flipping over,

0:12:41 > 0:12:43we've speeded it up a little bit.

0:12:43 > 0:12:45I think it's time to take a look at our mini masterpiece.

0:12:49 > 0:12:51DOG BARKS

0:12:54 > 0:12:56Oh, yeah, what did you think of that?

0:12:56 > 0:12:57It's really good.

0:13:01 > 0:13:04- Oh, hi, Dad.- Well, do you notice anything different?

0:13:04 > 0:13:07- Have you clipped your nose hair? - No, it's my clothes.

0:13:07 > 0:13:09I'm wearing the Paint Pot.

0:13:09 > 0:13:12Oh, that's what it is.

0:13:12 > 0:13:14Yeah, yeah, it's a good attempt.

0:13:14 > 0:13:16PHONE RINGS

0:13:16 > 0:13:18Hi, Ricky, it's your mum.

0:13:18 > 0:13:20Have you seen your dad?

0:13:20 > 0:13:22He's made a right mess in the house.

0:13:22 > 0:13:24- Oh, dear. - I saw your picture in the news.

0:13:24 > 0:13:26You're quite a style icon.

0:13:26 > 0:13:29And there's plenty more art to come in that fashion.

0:13:29 > 0:13:33The Grand Master embraces style with a woven bracelet.

0:13:33 > 0:13:37You need sheer skill to recycle tights to make greetings cards and

0:13:37 > 0:13:41you turn trash to style treasure for a cover shoot like no other.

0:13:41 > 0:13:42Anyway, got to go.

0:13:42 > 0:13:45Wait till I see your dad, he's in trouble.

0:13:45 > 0:13:47- Bye.- Oh, dear.

0:13:47 > 0:13:49See him? You can't miss him!

0:13:50 > 0:13:54I wonder if the ninja apprentices are wearing the Paint Pot.

0:13:54 > 0:13:55- BOTH:- Hi, Ricky.

0:13:55 > 0:13:57Maybe it hasn't caught on yet.

0:13:57 > 0:13:59Hey, it's Lauren and David from Got What It Takes.

0:13:59 > 0:14:03Ricky, have you got what it takes to make art with a microphone?

0:14:03 > 0:14:06No, but I can sing a note that will break this glass.

0:14:06 > 0:14:08HE SINGS NOTE OUT OF TUNE

0:14:11 > 0:14:13- Oh, it's plastic. - Maybe you should stick to art!

0:14:13 > 0:14:15Oh, it's a bad line.

0:14:16 > 0:14:19Ricky, what can you make with a remote control?

0:14:19 > 0:14:22Sorry, I can't channel any ideas right now.

0:14:22 > 0:14:24Hey, what have these guys got?

0:14:24 > 0:14:27Ricky, can you make art with a pair of old tights?

0:14:27 > 0:14:30It's a bit of a stretch but why not? I choose you.

0:14:30 > 0:14:32Yay!

0:14:32 > 0:14:34- So, what are your names?- Devon.

0:14:34 > 0:14:36- Vanessa.- Nice to meet you, guys.

0:14:36 > 0:14:39- And where are you from? - We're from Kent.

0:14:39 > 0:14:43Well, it's a great suggestion. Let me just go and grab some bits.

0:14:43 > 0:14:46I've got the tights, I've got some glue,

0:14:46 > 0:14:48a couple of paints and some bits of paper.

0:14:48 > 0:14:50We'll get onto that in a moment.

0:14:50 > 0:14:52Some card and a stapler.

0:14:52 > 0:14:55I'm going to start by stapling these pieces of cardboard together

0:14:55 > 0:14:56to make a frame.

0:15:00 > 0:15:02I see a lot of art behind you guys.

0:15:02 > 0:15:03What's that long green one at the top?

0:15:03 > 0:15:05It's a football pitch I made.

0:15:05 > 0:15:07Oh, nice, good stuff.

0:15:07 > 0:15:11I'm just going to cut the foot off one leg of the tights.

0:15:11 > 0:15:14I'm going to cut down it to make a flat piece of material.

0:15:14 > 0:15:17I'm going to be using the tights to make a screen print.

0:15:17 > 0:15:18So now I've got the material like that,

0:15:18 > 0:15:21I'm going to stretch it out and staple it around my frame.

0:15:21 > 0:15:23Let me stretch it round.

0:15:23 > 0:15:26It's a little bit fiddly so you might need to ask for some help.

0:15:27 > 0:15:30And obviously ask somebody if you can use their old tights!

0:15:32 > 0:15:35I'm making sure that it's stretched nice and tightly over the frame

0:15:35 > 0:15:38otherwise the screen print won't work.

0:15:38 > 0:15:42OK, I've got one frame but for my screen print I'm going to need two,

0:15:42 > 0:15:44so I'm going to ninja another one. Ya!

0:15:44 > 0:15:47- Wow! - And people say I have no style.

0:15:49 > 0:15:52I've got a picture of an ice cream here that I printed out and I'm

0:15:52 > 0:15:54going to use that to create my screen print.

0:15:54 > 0:15:56I'm going to trace around the cone

0:15:56 > 0:15:58and the chocolate stick onto the tights.

0:15:58 > 0:16:00What's your favourite ice cream?

0:16:00 > 0:16:02Mint choc chip.

0:16:02 > 0:16:05Mint choc chip? That's a good flavour, and a lovely colour.

0:16:05 > 0:16:08- Chocolate ice cream. - Mmm! Classic.

0:16:11 > 0:16:12On this first frame,

0:16:12 > 0:16:15I've drawn around the cone and the chocolate stick.

0:16:15 > 0:16:18Now I'm going to move on and do the ice cream on this second frame.

0:16:19 > 0:16:23The reason I'm using two frames is because I use different colours for

0:16:23 > 0:16:25different parts of the picture.

0:16:25 > 0:16:30OK. Right, now I've got myself some PVA,

0:16:30 > 0:16:33I'm going to paint around the outside of the shapes I've drawn.

0:16:35 > 0:16:37I've got a tray to protect the table.

0:16:37 > 0:16:39Cos it gets quite sticky.

0:16:39 > 0:16:43I'm using the glue to block the holes in the tights -

0:16:43 > 0:16:45so make sure the glue is nice and thick.

0:16:45 > 0:16:47I'm going to paint all the way up to the edges.

0:16:49 > 0:16:51I'm doing the same with the other one,

0:16:51 > 0:16:53painting glue around the shapes that I've drawn.

0:16:56 > 0:16:59There we go. If I can screen print, I need these to dry,

0:16:59 > 0:17:01so I'm going to use my ninja skills.

0:17:01 > 0:17:03Ya!

0:17:03 > 0:17:06- Nice and dry.- Wow!

0:17:06 > 0:17:07And where there's no glue is where

0:17:07 > 0:17:10the paint will go through the tights to print the picture.

0:17:10 > 0:17:12So I've got a piece of folded card here.

0:17:12 > 0:17:15I'll put my cone and chocolate stick over the top.

0:17:15 > 0:17:17I'm going to add some yellow to the top.

0:17:17 > 0:17:20Using a piece of card as a squeegee, I'll spread it down.

0:17:21 > 0:17:24Make sure you hold still and keep the pressure on

0:17:24 > 0:17:25so the paint goes through the tights.

0:17:29 > 0:17:31Carefully peel that away.

0:17:32 > 0:17:33Oh, yes!

0:17:33 > 0:17:36Now I'm going to add on the ice cream.

0:17:36 > 0:17:38Carefully lining it up with the cone.

0:17:38 > 0:17:41It's best to do this when it's dry.

0:17:41 > 0:17:43So it's strawberry ice cream, I guess.

0:17:44 > 0:17:48I'm pushing the paint through the tights again.

0:17:48 > 0:17:49Fingers crossed.

0:17:50 > 0:17:52Yes! Do you want to see it?

0:17:52 > 0:17:56- Yeah.- I've made an ice cream greetings card.

0:17:56 > 0:17:58Wow.

0:17:58 > 0:18:00And the great thing about using a screen print is you can make

0:18:00 > 0:18:02loads of copies.

0:18:04 > 0:18:05So, what would you score it?

0:18:05 > 0:18:08We give it a ten.

0:18:08 > 0:18:10It was a great suggestion.

0:18:10 > 0:18:12- Bye, guys.- Bye, Ricky.

0:18:20 > 0:18:24Wow. I'm so fashionable, it hurts.

0:18:24 > 0:18:28Hey, Gav, are you here to get restyled as the Paint Pot as well?

0:18:28 > 0:18:31The Paint Pot look is already so last week.

0:18:31 > 0:18:32So last week?

0:18:32 > 0:18:34It only started this morning.

0:18:34 > 0:18:37Wow, fashion moves fast.

0:18:37 > 0:18:39So, if that's out, what's in?

0:18:39 > 0:18:43We can work on that but first, let's get our catwalk on.

0:18:43 > 0:18:48CAMERA SHUTTERS CLICK

0:18:59 > 0:19:02CHEERING

0:19:02 > 0:19:05Gav, the catwalk loves us!

0:19:05 > 0:19:07Now you just need to find a new look.

0:19:09 > 0:19:12Here's a quick art tip of how to draw a washing line.

0:19:12 > 0:19:16To start, draw the poles and they're going to need anchors in the ground

0:19:16 > 0:19:18and that's where they're going to come from.

0:19:18 > 0:19:21These poles are very, very thin long rectangles.

0:19:21 > 0:19:24I'm going to draw them leaning away from each other.

0:19:24 > 0:19:25A little tie on either of them.

0:19:25 > 0:19:27That's where the washing line is going to hang.

0:19:27 > 0:19:29I'm going to have it sagging in the middle like this

0:19:29 > 0:19:32because, of course, it's holding heavy, wet clothes.

0:19:32 > 0:19:35A couple of pegs. A couple here, too.

0:19:35 > 0:19:38Now I get to draw the clothes. I'm going to start with a T-shirt.

0:19:38 > 0:19:41With two sleeves either side, it's kind of like a fat-bodied T.

0:19:41 > 0:19:44And the collar and details there for the sleeves.

0:19:44 > 0:19:46A pair of trousers. Two legs.

0:19:46 > 0:19:48Draw the pocket details in. Tops.

0:19:48 > 0:19:52Of course, the flies. How about some trendy turn ups?

0:19:52 > 0:19:54There we go. A pair of Y-fronts.

0:19:54 > 0:19:56That kind of shape.

0:19:56 > 0:20:00It's really the detail that defines each of these garments.

0:20:00 > 0:20:02Now a couple of socks.

0:20:04 > 0:20:09There we go. There's a quick art tip on how to draw a washing line.

0:20:21 > 0:20:25- Uh, Gav?- New look sorted.

0:20:25 > 0:20:27It's awful.

0:20:27 > 0:20:30I don't think you'll find anybody but you wearing that.

0:20:30 > 0:20:32Oh, really?

0:20:35 > 0:20:37- Om...- It's the Grand Master!- Om...

0:20:39 > 0:20:41Whoa!

0:20:41 > 0:20:42I'm OK, man.

0:20:42 > 0:20:44Greetings, dudes.

0:20:44 > 0:20:45You're looking very...

0:20:47 > 0:20:49- ..now.- You noticed!

0:20:50 > 0:20:55That's the number 2018 to enlightenment.

0:20:55 > 0:21:00Organic adornment for your carpus.

0:21:00 > 0:21:03A woven bracelet for your wrist.

0:21:03 > 0:21:05Let's do this!

0:21:05 > 0:21:10Grab three straws, dude, and wrap sticky tape around one end.

0:21:10 > 0:21:12Get some wool.

0:21:12 > 0:21:14Tie a knot around one of the straws

0:21:14 > 0:21:17and start weaving the wool between them.

0:21:20 > 0:21:22Keep weaving back and forth, dudes.

0:21:22 > 0:21:28When you fancy a change, cut off the wool and add another colour.

0:21:28 > 0:21:31Just tie it to the last one, dudes.

0:21:31 > 0:21:33Carry on weaving.

0:21:33 > 0:21:36Do as many colours as you like, man.

0:21:38 > 0:21:42Cut off the wool, then grab a skewer and three lengths of wool.

0:21:43 > 0:21:46Poke a piece through each straw with the skewer.

0:21:51 > 0:21:53Tie off this end.

0:21:57 > 0:22:00Carefully slide the wool off the straws.

0:22:04 > 0:22:09Tie off this end. And tie the ends together!

0:22:16 > 0:22:18Yeah, vogue, dudes.

0:22:19 > 0:22:24That's a number 2018 complete.

0:22:24 > 0:22:25Check it out!

0:22:26 > 0:22:28Thanks, Grand Master.

0:22:28 > 0:22:30I am most enlightened.

0:22:30 > 0:22:32Om... Om!

0:22:34 > 0:22:38I can't believe the Grand Master has his finger on the fashion pulse.

0:22:38 > 0:22:42Me, too. Remember, I am Bristol's Best Dressed Personality after all.

0:22:44 > 0:22:47Bye then. How am I going to get my fashion mojo back?

0:22:47 > 0:22:50I guess I don't need this any more.

0:22:53 > 0:22:55PHONE RINGS

0:22:55 > 0:22:58- Hey, Sarah. - Hey, Ricky. Great pout.

0:22:58 > 0:23:03- What's up?- My Paint Pot look went viral and now Gav says it's over.

0:23:03 > 0:23:06That's a bit dramatic. Meet me at the photography studio,

0:23:06 > 0:23:08- I think I might be able to help you out.- I'll see you there!

0:23:08 > 0:23:11Better not forget this little accessory.

0:23:16 > 0:23:17Ninja skills!

0:23:18 > 0:23:20- Hey, Sarah.- Hi, Ricky.

0:23:20 > 0:23:22I see you've ditched the Paint Pot look?

0:23:22 > 0:23:24Yeah, I thought I'd go with this fashion classic.

0:23:24 > 0:23:27Maybe it's in fashion at the skate park but not on the catwalk.

0:23:27 > 0:23:30This is Adnan, he's going to help you get your fashion mojo back.

0:23:30 > 0:23:32Well, in that case, lovely to meet you.

0:23:32 > 0:23:34Adnan is a top fashion designer.

0:23:34 > 0:23:36He uses unusual materials to make couture clothes.

0:23:36 > 0:23:40Well, Adnan, you're the guy to get me back on the fashion map

0:23:40 > 0:23:42but first, we're going to get our ninja on.

0:23:50 > 0:23:52Art Ninja!

0:23:52 > 0:23:55Strike a pose. And a pose.

0:23:55 > 0:23:56And a pose.

0:23:59 > 0:24:02So, if I wanted to start my own fashion label,

0:24:02 > 0:24:05the House of Art Ninja, what materials would I need to buy?

0:24:05 > 0:24:08None. I like to make clothes out of recycled materials.

0:24:08 > 0:24:11I've made a paperclip dress over there...

0:24:12 > 0:24:14..a plastic bag dress.

0:24:14 > 0:24:15- Beautiful.- Thanks.

0:24:16 > 0:24:19Would you mind getting some of that recycling from over there

0:24:19 > 0:24:20- for me, please?- Sure.

0:24:24 > 0:24:26This is tricky.

0:24:26 > 0:24:28We need to open these boxes.

0:24:28 > 0:24:31- Can you cut some long strips for me, please?- Sure.

0:24:37 > 0:24:40- Sarah, I need eight of these. - OK.- Thanks.

0:24:48 > 0:24:49So, what are we going to do with these?

0:24:49 > 0:24:52Well, we're going to build a cage around this mannequin.

0:24:52 > 0:24:54So grab a strip, get a pin,

0:24:54 > 0:24:56and just pin it in like that.

0:25:05 > 0:25:07It doesn't look much like a piece of clothing.

0:25:07 > 0:25:08You haven't seen anything yet.

0:25:23 > 0:25:25It's looking good. So, what's next?

0:25:25 > 0:25:26We're going to make a ninja spinner.

0:25:30 > 0:25:33There you go. I'm going to need a load of these, Ricky.

0:25:33 > 0:25:35All right, I'll just ninja some more.

0:25:36 > 0:25:38Wow, that's great!

0:25:38 > 0:25:40You get some colour on this and I'm going to help Sarah.

0:25:57 > 0:26:00- Looking good. - Let's get some colour on it.

0:26:22 > 0:26:24Fabulous. Fabulous.

0:26:24 > 0:26:27Love this one from recycled fabrics.

0:26:27 > 0:26:28Perfect.

0:26:28 > 0:26:31And a recycled paperclip dress.

0:26:31 > 0:26:33Nice! That's it, work it.

0:26:33 > 0:26:35Tiger.
