0:21:22 > 0:21:23at the start line of the London Marathon,

0:21:23 > 0:21:27where thousands of other people are trained really hard for this.

0:21:27 > 0:21:28I suffered a pretty bad knee injury

0:21:28 > 0:21:32but I can now officially confirm that I am ready to do this.

0:21:33 > 0:21:35What have I let myself in for?

0:21:35 > 0:21:38This world-famous race is one of the most gruelling

0:21:38 > 0:21:40and toughest sporting events going.

0:21:40 > 0:21:45Today, 37,000 runners will attempt to run a massive 26.2 miles,

0:21:45 > 0:21:48bringing the centre of London to a standstill.

0:21:48 > 0:21:50But that's not important.

0:21:50 > 0:21:52What's important is this -

0:21:52 > 0:21:54the Blue Peter Sport Badge.

0:21:54 > 0:21:55That's the whole reason I am doing this

0:21:55 > 0:21:58and I've got to remember that when things get difficult.

0:21:58 > 0:22:01Now, the boys can't be on the start line with me but I'm not alone.

0:22:01 > 0:22:03I'm joined by experienced marathon runners Amy and Bev.

0:22:05 > 0:22:07Now, Amy, you've got Barney through a 10k before.

0:22:07 > 0:22:09The marathon is about four times that.

0:22:09 > 0:22:11So do you think you can get me to the finish line?

0:22:14 > 0:22:17The London atmosphere's amazing as well, you'll enjoy it.

0:22:39 > 0:22:42I'm making good progress over the first three miles.

0:22:42 > 0:22:47It's taken me just over 25 minutes to get this far. Not bad.

0:22:54 > 0:22:57and friends and luckily, I have got Radzi and Barney.

0:23:02 > 0:23:05At this point, Lindsey will have run six miles.

0:23:07 > 0:23:09As you can see, everyone is very excited about being here.

0:24:13 > 0:24:16Like, it's honestly one of the best days ever.

0:24:19 > 0:24:21is hopefully at the finish line.

0:24:21 > 0:24:23So I'm going to have to dig deep.

0:24:26 > 0:24:28My only aim was to get there feeling good

0:24:28 > 0:24:30and I've done that.

0:24:30 > 0:24:33After this, we just have to see what happens.

0:24:40 > 0:24:44Every step I take now is a step closer to the end.

0:24:45 > 0:24:48Amazing to think that some of the elite runners

0:25:01 > 0:25:04But I am really starting to feel the pain.

0:25:04 > 0:25:07And I am just trying not to cry.

0:25:07 > 0:25:09I just want to be on the finish line now.

0:25:09 > 0:25:11I am really struggling.

0:25:11 > 0:25:14I just need to stay positive.

0:25:15 > 0:25:17So tired. 21 miles.

0:25:19 > 0:25:20I just want to finish now.

0:25:26 > 0:25:27It's the final stretch.

0:25:27 > 0:25:30I'm in so much pain and all I want to do is walk,

0:25:30 > 0:25:32but I can't let this beat me.

0:25:34 > 0:25:36Nearly there. We're on Big Ben, now.

0:25:42 > 0:25:44It's quite frustrating to be on the finish line

0:25:44 > 0:25:46and all you're looking for is one face.

0:25:46 > 0:25:48There's a sea of so many hundreds of different people.

0:25:48 > 0:25:51And there's only one person we're all really interested in.

0:25:57 > 0:25:58I can't feel my legs

0:25:58 > 0:26:01and I've never been so tired in all my life.

0:26:01 > 0:26:03But at last, I've made it.

0:26:03 > 0:26:07And the first thing I need is a hug from my mum.
