:00:19. > :00:26.Today, the Force is with us as we bring you the world's biggest

:00:26. > :00:36.lightsabre. And a gold badge surprise for a Star Wars legend.

:00:36. > :00:53.

:00:53. > :00:59.award you pure gold Blue Peter The Force is strong with this one.

:00:59. > :01:08.Don't worry, we have not had a power cut. We are just having an

:01:08. > :01:15.epic battle. Put the Lions back on. We can call it at draw. Welcome to

:01:15. > :01:20.the show. If you are an huge fan of Star Wars, you will know that this

:01:20. > :01:25.is a lightsabre. It is a glowing power stick and the most powerful

:01:25. > :01:30.weapon in all of the galaxy. This is about one metre long but

:01:30. > :01:40.recently I went to help create the biggest lightsabre in the world.

:01:40. > :01:44.

:01:44. > :01:53.There's only one place to go. The BT Tower in London. Just look

:01:53. > :01:57.at this - it is incredible. You can see the whole of London. Sober

:01:57. > :02:02.lighting designers are coming to set up some incredibly cool Kit and

:02:02. > :02:08.the whole of London will be able to see the biggest lightsabre in the

:02:08. > :02:14.world. This is to celebrate the release of the Star Wars Saga up in

:02:14. > :02:18.Blu-ray. The story started in a galaxy, far away. When it was

:02:18. > :02:27.released in 1977, no one could predict just how big the Star Wars

:02:27. > :02:33.phenomenon could become. It was a story of good against evil. There

:02:33. > :02:40.where space ships and the Force, a power for good and for bad. Not to

:02:40. > :02:46.mention a new fighting weapon - the lightsabre.

:02:46. > :02:53.Back on earth it is the day before the BT Tower's transformation for a

:02:53. > :02:58.glittering star Wars event. At 177 metre site it is normally used as a

:02:58. > :03:05.communications hub. It is going to be the perfect Handel for ad giant

:03:05. > :03:10.lightsabre. The man responsible for creating it is Johnny Miller with

:03:10. > :03:15.his team of a electricians. How will you turn but BT Tower into the

:03:15. > :03:21.biggest lightsabre in the world? You have to start with lights and

:03:21. > :03:29.we have 16 of the biggest you have probably ever seen. This is equal

:03:29. > :03:39.to about 300 lightbulbs. For what conditions do you need? We need it

:03:39. > :03:41.

:03:41. > :03:45.to be dark because we wanted good air quality. So this whole stunt

:03:45. > :03:51.really depends on the lighting conditions on the day? That is

:03:51. > :03:56.correct. It is not uncommon for cloud to be sitting on top of the

:03:56. > :04:01.tower and that could be difficult. You're doing a brilliant job. How

:04:01. > :04:05.do we turn that on? He is downstairs. Before the event we

:04:05. > :04:11.have to make sure that the lightsabre actually works. We need

:04:11. > :04:17.to do a secret test at exactly the same time of night as the real

:04:17. > :04:24.switch-over tomorrow. Now you said that I could help test the tower.

:04:24. > :04:29.Here we are on the roof of the building. We are able to control

:04:29. > :04:39.the lights on the tower using this. These are at the controls. What do

:04:39. > :04:40.

:04:40. > :04:49.we do? You can move your finger up to move the lights on. That is what

:04:49. > :04:57.they call cool. With these buttons you can change the colour. I note

:04:57. > :05:07.you will want one! How do we make it into a lightsabre? We have to be

:05:07. > :05:07.

:05:07. > :05:17.really quick. Just a little teaser. Just press that button there.

:05:17. > :05:20.

:05:20. > :05:29.here goes. I am going to make the noise. Vrrrrmmm! That is some

:05:30. > :05:36.special piece of kit. It is amazing. We're here for the big switch-on

:05:36. > :05:42.tonight. To see the world's biggest lightsabre. And I have a big

:05:42. > :05:47.surprise for one of the original cast members of Star Wars. Anthony

:05:47. > :05:56.Daniels played the lovable robot and has been in all six of the Star

:05:56. > :06:04.Wars films. Before I meet him he has a rather important job to do.

:06:04. > :06:14.It is my great pleasure to power up the biggest lightsabre in the

:06:14. > :06:23.

:06:23. > :06:30.galaxy. Stand by because the Force There it is. The world's biggest

:06:30. > :06:34.lightsabre, beaming alight 600 metres high. Anthony Daniels never

:06:34. > :06:41.got to use a lightsabre in the films. I think they should make up

:06:41. > :06:51.for it. So there you go, you finally get a lightsabre. Can I

:06:51. > :07:01.show you something? I always played yield in the film and I did the

:07:01. > :07:03.

:07:03. > :07:13.impressions. After six movies, is that the best you can do? Actually,

:07:13. > :07:23.it is not back. -- not bad. We have a special award on Blue Peter known

:07:23. > :07:25.

:07:25. > :07:32.as the gold badge. I would like to present you with our highest

:07:32. > :07:36.accolade. We just think you are the best legend that Star Wars has ever

:07:36. > :07:43.produced. It is my pleasure to award you with your gold Blue Peter

:07:43. > :07:53.badge. I am immensely touched by that. Thank you for entertaining as

:07:53. > :07:53.

:07:53. > :08:00.for all these years. I am very touched.

:08:00. > :08:07.That really made me smile. I loved that. Genuinely so excited. We had

:08:07. > :08:12.a cup of tea together! It was amazing. And turning on that huge

:08:12. > :08:18.lightsabre! If you love Star Wars then we want to hear from you. E-

:08:18. > :08:24.mail us now at bluepeter@bbc.co.uk. We want to know your favourite

:08:24. > :08:28.thing about Star Wars. Send us that e-mail and you could see that your

:08:28. > :08:35.name on the television. If you are watching stayed tuned because we

:08:35. > :08:40.have a ferocious prehistoric visitor right here in this studio.

:08:40. > :08:45.Brace yourselves for that. This time last week we launched the Blue

:08:45. > :08:50.Peter appeal for this year. If you get involved you have the chance to

:08:50. > :08:55.really change children's lives. All details are coming up later. But

:08:55. > :09:05.for now, this is the charity we're hoping you will support - children

:09:05. > :09:07.

:09:07. > :09:13.in Need. -- Children in Need. Welcome to the greatest fund-

:09:13. > :09:18.raising show on air. Children in Need is all about one thing -

:09:18. > :09:21.raising money to help vulnerable children in the UK. The public

:09:21. > :09:26.raised money and send it into Children in Need and they then give

:09:26. > :09:31.that money to hundreds of charities all over the country. Since the

:09:31. > :09:39.appeal began a staggering 600 million has been raised by the

:09:39. > :09:48.public for good causes. Each year fund raising builds up to one fund-

:09:48. > :09:56.raising event in November - Children in Need at night.

:09:56. > :10:02.There are countless celebrities. Even BBC newsreaders attempt to get

:10:02. > :10:10.people at home to give generously to good causes. Last year our own

:10:10. > :10:18.Helen got stuck in. Not bad, Helen! Each year the money goes to help

:10:18. > :10:23.thousands of children like these. And it is not just celebrities who

:10:23. > :10:30.get stuck in that with the fund raising. People up and down the

:10:30. > :10:35.country raise money in all sorts of ways. And that is where you come in.

:10:35. > :10:40.For this year's appeal will want you to raise money for Children in

:10:40. > :10:46.Need. We want you to help raise more money than ever. You really

:10:46. > :10:51.will make a difference. Barney is right, if you get

:10:51. > :10:56.involved you will make a difference. This year we're asking you to "bake

:10:56. > :11:03.a difference". We want you to hold at bake sale. All we need to do is

:11:03. > :11:08.make some cakes, sausage rolls, what ever you can turn your hand to

:11:08. > :11:13.and self. You need to find somewhere to sell your goods,

:11:13. > :11:23.perhaps your school or youth club. There are plenty of hungry people

:11:23. > :11:24.

:11:24. > :11:31.who will buy your goods. Do you know any hungry people? My family!

:11:31. > :11:39.Everything you need to know he's on our website. There are different

:11:39. > :11:47.sections to have a look at. The first is our financial guru, Saira

:11:47. > :11:54.Khan. She will tell you how to run a successful bake sale. And if

:11:55. > :12:04.you're stuck for inspiration, celebrities are getting on board.

:12:04. > :12:09.This is a recipe from Alesha Dixon. And of course this one is the very

:12:09. > :12:14.important page, once you have raised Germany this page will tell

:12:14. > :12:23.you how to pay it in. The money can't really make a difference to

:12:23. > :12:33.children's lives, children like Joy. I am joined, I intend years old and

:12:33. > :12:37.I love coming to my local beach. -- I am joined. I am 10 years old.

:12:37. > :12:42.sometimes she is not able to do these things because she has a

:12:42. > :12:50.condition called cystic fibrosis. It means that basic functions like

:12:50. > :13:00.breeding can be a real problem. Having this condition makes me feel

:13:00. > :13:02.

:13:02. > :13:07.sick and sometimes be sick. I cough stuff up and it makes me feel tired.

:13:07. > :13:11.I am sad because my friends do not have it. To stop herself getting

:13:11. > :13:16.serious infections she has to take a lot of medicine at every day.

:13:16. > :13:24.These have to be fed through a tube on her stomach because she is not

:13:24. > :13:27.able to swallow them without them going down the wrong way. Cystic

:13:27. > :13:35.fibrosis clogs up the lungs are making it difficult for her to

:13:35. > :13:42.breathe. She needs regular visits to hospital. I just came out of

:13:42. > :13:52.hospital after as serious infection. I could not sleep. All the babies

:13:52. > :13:55.

:13:55. > :14:00.To help clear her lungs of the mucus, Joy has to do breathing

:14:00. > :14:06.exercises like this three times a day. It really is hard work for her.

:14:06. > :14:10.Are you ready for bed? At bedtime Joy has to have special milk to

:14:10. > :14:15.make sure she is getting enough goodness to grow and keep healthy.

:14:15. > :14:17.Milk and water are the only drinks she has been allowed to have. The

:14:17. > :14:22.drinks have to be fed through a tube.

:14:22. > :14:26.Life can be really tiring for Joy and sometimes she just needs a

:14:26. > :14:32.break, but there is help. Thanks to a charity called the Butterfly

:14:32. > :14:42.Trust which is supported by knead. They fund a befriender for Joy to

:14:42. > :14:50.talk to or have fun with so she can take her mind off heifer illness.

:14:50. > :14:59.-- off her illness. Emma is here. It can be popping to

:14:59. > :15:03.the shops or the Zoo or whatever Joy wants to do.

:15:03. > :15:06.Joy is in there now with her friend Emma. She has no idea that I'm here.

:15:06. > :15:12.I thought I might just give her a little surprise.

:15:12. > :15:18.Hello. Is that Joy? It's Barney from Blue

:15:18. > :15:23.Peter. Have you seen the rare northern monkey?

:15:23. > :15:27.He is very scaredy. Hello. There is no northern monkey,

:15:27. > :15:32.I made that up, although my mum thinks I am a bit!

:15:32. > :15:37.Shall we go for a chat? Yeah. If there is one thing you could

:15:37. > :15:41.change, one thing you could sort of make happen, what would it be?

:15:41. > :15:42.don't have this cough because I've got a cough.

:15:42. > :15:47.Like that. Yes.

:15:47. > :15:51.It is not a normal cough, is it, it is because you've got something on

:15:51. > :15:55.your lungs as well. Do you think your friends understand has like to

:15:55. > :16:00.be you? Do you think they know? Tell me the good things about

:16:00. > :16:06.having Emma in your life? We paint together and we watch movies

:16:06. > :16:09.together. Like chick flicks? Where someone

:16:09. > :16:18.falls over at the beginning and they kiss at the end? I like

:16:18. > :16:27.talking to her. It makes my mind off it.

:16:27. > :16:34.Joy has been living with the symptoms of ify bro sis -- cystic

:16:34. > :16:41.fibrosis since she was a baby. Having someone like Emma to help

:16:41. > :16:46.and support her makes a big Get involved! Support this appeal

:16:46. > :16:51.and Bake a Difference. There is no time to lose. Come on, off your

:16:51. > :16:55.sofas and lets start running the bake sales. We want more sales. We

:16:55. > :17:01.want you to tell us what you are planning to bake and how many items

:17:01. > :17:06.you are planning to bake so we can add it to our totaliser which looks

:17:07. > :17:11.like this. Right, let us know how many things

:17:11. > :17:14.you are plan to go bake so we can put them on there and make the

:17:14. > :17:19.totaliser fill the screen. We launched this appeal a week ago,

:17:19. > :17:26.but loads of you have been in touch promising to bake things. Lauren

:17:26. > :17:29.and Hannah are going to bake 72 cakes or biscuits and sell them at

:17:29. > :17:33.their dad's work. That's a good idea.

:17:33. > :17:37.The more people, the more items, the more money.

:17:37. > :17:44.Matthew says, "What a great appeal. I have planned to make 50 items

:17:44. > :17:53.with my friends. He is going to split it up 25 cookies and 5 cup

:17:53. > :17:59.cakes -- 25 cup cakes.". Le Lisa and Heather and going to make 18

:17:59. > :18:04.fairy cakes. 20 shortbread and ten plain and ten

:18:04. > :18:07.coated in chocolate and 18 corn flake cakes. They get the biggest

:18:07. > :18:14.cheer. All of those pledges are going to

:18:14. > :18:20.be added to the totaliser, but Barney you have a better calculator.

:18:20. > :18:23.How many pledges so far? The amount of pledges we have so far our our

:18:23. > :18:30.Blue Peter appeal, Bake a Difference is...

:18:30. > :18:33.Oh, it is 1576. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:18:33. > :18:36.That's in a week! That was a week ago we announced

:18:36. > :18:44.that and that's how many we got in. Thank you for getting involved. We

:18:44. > :18:54.Let us know how many items you plan to bake and you never know we might

:18:54. > :18:56.

:18:56. > :19:03.Coming soon to Blue Peter, some of Liverpool's players cook up chaos

:19:03. > :19:08.for the appeal. Ed Sheeran will be in the studio.

:19:08. > :19:13.Plus I learned some skills for a red carpet premier.

:19:13. > :19:20.. As you can see there is more to look forward and more to come on

:19:20. > :19:25.Blue Peter. Now, I bet you think the T-rex was the big biggest and

:19:25. > :19:28.most scariest dinosaur on the planet. Well, if you were watching

:19:28. > :19:38.dinosaur files you will know that is wrong. Because when it comes to

:19:38. > :19:48.T-rex and this guy, the T rection is a wimp -- the T-rex is a wimp!

:19:48. > :19:48.

:19:48. > :19:58.Spinosaurus, 70 meters, the biggest killer ever to walk the Earth. An

:19:58. > :20:10.

:20:10. > :20:15.11 tonne dinosaur. And here he is, everybody, here is

:20:15. > :20:17.the Spinosaurus. This guy is a model. It is one fifth to scale

:20:17. > :20:21.which means the real thing would have been five times bigger than

:20:21. > :20:26.this. Just to give you an idea of how big that is, if he was real

:20:26. > :20:33.size and I was real size, that's how big I would be in comparison. I

:20:33. > :20:37.would be just as tall as one of the vertebra on his spine. Barney the

:20:37. > :20:41.dog would be able to spit on the Spinosaurus's head. That's one dog

:20:41. > :20:46.gone in one big munch. If you look at the floor, you will see Helen is

:20:46. > :20:50.as tall as the Spinosaurus's foot from toe to ankle. It is fair to

:20:50. > :20:55.say that this monster is without a doubt the biggest and scariest

:20:56. > :20:59.dinosaur ever to walk planet earth. I can't believe you suggested that

:20:59. > :21:04.Spinosaurus could eat this creature!

:21:04. > :21:10.I mean, he is a beast. The Spinosaurus is seriously old though.

:21:10. > :21:14.It lived 30 million years before the T-rex and it was found in North

:21:14. > :21:18.Africa, even though North Africa is mostly desert, the Spinosaurus

:21:18. > :21:22.liked to live in wet and soggy areas, Barney.

:21:22. > :21:26.I know some more facts. We have written them down. He is a hunting

:21:26. > :21:32.machine. He would look for his prey on land and water. I have to read

:21:32. > :21:39.off a card because it is one of the weirdest names I heard. His

:21:39. > :21:45.favourite food was onchopristis. That's a giant swordfish. This guy

:21:45. > :21:48.was wiped out because when sea levels rose, it wiped out his food

:21:48. > :21:52.sources. I have another one for you. The

:21:52. > :21:55.first bones weren't found until 1912 in Egypt.

:21:55. > :21:59.Wow. No one ever found a full skeleton

:21:59. > :22:03.that's probably because they lived near the sea so the skeleton would

:22:03. > :22:07.have been washed away and palaeontologists had to find the

:22:07. > :22:12.different bones and put them together like a big jigsaw.

:22:12. > :22:16.That's scary, isn't it? He was a big boy and he is on tour. He is

:22:16. > :22:20.going to be near a town near you. If you want to find out where he is,

:22:20. > :22:24.go to the website and you can find out the details there when you

:22:24. > :22:28.click on the dinosaur. We asked you if you liked Star Wars

:22:28. > :22:31.and loads of you have been in touch to let us know what you think about

:22:31. > :22:36.Star Wars. Who you liked and what you liked about it.

:22:36. > :22:43.That's one of the coolest things I had to do. Anthony Daniels will be

:22:44. > :22:46.my favourite thing about Star Wars. Thank you, celebrity hand.

:22:46. > :22:54.If you are watching live on BBC One and that proves it. You are

:22:54. > :23:03.watching. My character is Hands Solar.

:23:03. > :23:09.James says the best thing is the ships and the planets.

:23:09. > :23:12.My favourite is the Death Star. Tune in tomorrow if you like

:23:12. > :23:18.gadgets and behind the scenes access and if you like dancing.

:23:18. > :23:23.Tomorrow, I get an exclusive look behind the scenes at the new Rowan

:23:23. > :23:28.Atkinson film. I get to try out a new gadget as well.

:23:28. > :23:31.Rizzle Kicks will be in the studio. They will be performing their new

:23:31. > :23:34.single. This is one of the catchiest tunes I ever heard and

:23:34. > :23:38.one you will be singing all day. You will be singing and dancing.

:23:38. > :23:42.They dance around like this! Let's not do it right now because

:23:42. > :23:47.it looks silly. You love to do that crazy dance.

:23:47. > :23:51.They're cool. If you want to see it, same time, same place tomorrow.

:23:51. > :23:54.you later. This year I'm supporting Blue
