:00:23. > :00:26.on chocolate eggs. Along with baby apples and Demi Lovato. Find out

:00:31. > :00:36.two minutes' time. Happy Easter, everybody! They've got the ahh

:00:36. > :00:44.factor by the bucket load. We take you to see the newest zoo babies on

:00:44. > :00:46.the block. And Camp Rock star Demi Lovato reveals some of her

:00:46. > :00:56.heartbreaking secrets in about 20 minutes. I gained a lot of

:00:56. > :01:11.

:01:11. > :01:16.confidence and I'm learning how to Hello! Welcome to Blue Peter. We've

:01:16. > :01:19.got a great show for you today, we got music, annals and we know you

:01:19. > :01:24.love to get creative, so we got some cracking ideas. There is also

:01:24. > :01:34.the chance to be interactive and get in touch with the show. A few

:01:34. > :01:40.

:01:40. > :01:46.days ago, it was April Fool's Day. We might read it out later. Someone

:01:46. > :01:50.once convinced me that a man crew press on his head. -- watercress.

:01:50. > :01:53.We know you like to get created in the Easter holidays. You are

:01:53. > :01:58.probably looking for something to do. We got an idea for you to get

:01:58. > :02:00.stuck into. Do you know that in Britain we eat a staggering 80

:02:00. > :02:04.million Easter egg each year. If you're tired of the same old brands,

:02:04. > :02:14.you probably want to try something different. All you need is one of

:02:14. > :02:14.

:02:14. > :02:19.Chocolate. Most of us love it. Some people are even addicted to it. At

:02:19. > :02:22.Easter, you never need an excuse to eat it. Easter eggs are

:02:22. > :02:27.traditionally given that this time of year to celebrate the start of

:02:27. > :02:29.new life that springtime brings. I'd enlisted the help of a master

:02:29. > :02:38.chocolate here to show you how you can create unique gifts for friends

:02:38. > :02:41.and family. The egg expert in question is Paul Young. He runs a

:02:41. > :02:45.chocolate shop and his work with one of the world's most famous

:02:45. > :02:51.chefs, Marco Pierre White, and he's going to let you in on the sweet

:02:51. > :02:55.secret of how to make an Easter egg with wow factor. How are you doing?

:02:55. > :03:01.Thanks for inviting us to your kitchen, which smells incredible.

:03:01. > :03:05.Melted chocolate, truffles, marzipan, what are we doing? It is

:03:05. > :03:11.half an Easter egg filled with truffle eggs, marzipan eggs and

:03:11. > :03:16.Brownies. The first thing we've got is a bowl of melted chocolate. It's

:03:16. > :03:21.been over a pan of gently simmering water. Give us a good mix and it

:03:21. > :03:26.should be really smooth, no lumps. You need to add more chopped up

:03:26. > :03:30.chocolate. This gives it extra strength and better texture. All we

:03:30. > :03:34.need to do is add a little bit of solid chocolate to the melted

:03:34. > :03:40.chocolate and mix it up until it is melted. The more we do it, the

:03:40. > :03:45.better it will be. Now it's time to make the egg Bowl. We dip in a

:03:45. > :03:51.balloon. If you want a follow one, go further wrapper. If you want

:03:51. > :03:56.half, got halfway. It goes into the chocolate. It's obvious to ask,

:03:56. > :04:00.will it not taste like a balloon? There will be no taste whatsoever.

:04:00. > :04:04.Scrape any extra off from the bottom and stand it on a sheet of

:04:04. > :04:08.greaseproof paper. Bennett is into the fridge for five minutes to set.

:04:08. > :04:15.Then it is time to move on to the custom mini eggs made of anything

:04:15. > :04:20.you like. We got marzipan, brownies, a travel, that is just cream and

:04:20. > :04:25.chocolate mix together. Roll them into egg shapes, or any other shape

:04:25. > :04:29.that you like! I have made a marzipan potato! It is time to

:04:29. > :04:35.customise the outside. Coated with any type of melted chocolate you

:04:35. > :04:40.like. Make sure it is cool enough to touch. Get an adult to help.

:04:40. > :04:46.Decorate them quickly, before it sets. You can stick absolutely

:04:47. > :04:51.anything to the outside. You've already got ideas, I can see you

:04:51. > :04:54.thinking! They have set and it is time for the really fun part. We

:04:55. > :05:04.need a pair of scissors. It might be an idea for your mum and dad to

:05:04. > :05:08.help. Hold the balloon... Pop the balloon. Mine is just going down!

:05:08. > :05:13.It's a very delicate process. worry if a bit of balloon gets

:05:13. > :05:18.stuck. Pull it out carefully. hadn't mixed it fully, this balloon

:05:18. > :05:23.would not have released, the chocolate would have stuck to it.

:05:23. > :05:27.Now for some finishing touches and two at the mini eggs. There you

:05:27. > :05:34.have it, fully customise the ball Easter eggs, served in their own

:05:34. > :05:44.chocolate bowl. Happy Easter! If he would like to do whatever you need

:05:44. > :05:54.

:05:54. > :05:59.to do, I'll clean up. Thanks, guys. I don't know if I should be proud

:05:59. > :06:07.or embarrassed! I didn't know that they were filming at. Whatever!

:06:07. > :06:10.director said I had to do it. I feel bad that you were left out,

:06:10. > :06:14.so we are going to get our aprons on and do this in the studio. You

:06:14. > :06:18.need chocolate and balloons. The first thing that you need to do is

:06:18. > :06:22.to melt it over a pan of hot water on the stove. Make sure you get

:06:22. > :06:27.your parents to help or somebody that is an adult. It has already

:06:27. > :06:31.been done, so I don't need to do that. You can use dark chocolate,

:06:31. > :06:34.white chocolate, whatever takes your fancy. Then it is important

:06:34. > :06:38.that you take some ordinary chocolate, chop it up and add that

:06:38. > :06:42.to the melted chocolate. It's called tempering and it will stop

:06:42. > :06:47.it going wobbly when it takes -- you take out of the fridge. You

:06:47. > :06:55.need to blow your balloon up. You can use any size you like, small

:06:55. > :06:58.large, it depends how big the one chore Cup today. -- you want your

:06:59. > :07:06.cup to the. We want it cold enough to touch because if it is to what

:07:06. > :07:11.it will burst the balloon. learnt that the hard way! I want

:07:11. > :07:14.mine to be like a Bird's Nest, like this one. You can dribble it around

:07:14. > :07:18.the side for that. This will cool in the fridge and make the shape

:07:18. > :07:28.that you are making on the outside of the balloon. You need to put

:07:28. > :07:29.

:07:29. > :07:35.Then you take that to the fridge. In five minutes it should set. Be

:07:35. > :07:39.careful with the fridge door, it is massive. It really is big. Amazing.

:07:39. > :07:45.Just leave it open. Once they have set, they should look like these.

:07:45. > :07:49.Here are some we made earlier. This is the tricky bit. You have to pop

:07:49. > :07:55.the balloon inside it. Very gently, just like that. Be very careful.

:07:55. > :07:59.The quicker you are with this, there you go... At you need to get

:07:59. > :08:03.that bit out in the middle. As easy as that. Once you have them like

:08:03. > :08:06.this, you can start to decorate them. Last week we told you that

:08:06. > :08:11.this was going to beyond the Blue Peter website and we invited you to

:08:11. > :08:16.have a go. A lot of you did and you have sent us photographs of the

:08:16. > :08:24.eggs you created. Ben and Amy, Ben has made a huge one and he has

:08:24. > :08:29.filled it with all kinds of treats. Joseph, Sophie and Sandy made a

:08:29. > :08:35.mini egg and filled it with flowers. Charlotte from Ramsgate got a very

:08:35. > :08:40.creative. Is that a marzipan rabbit or a cat? If it's a rabbit, it is

:08:40. > :08:47.my idea of heaven. Alice in end breath filled her chocolate egg

:08:47. > :08:51.with fancy looking travels. Well done, clearly classy ladies. If you

:08:51. > :08:54.make one of these, don't forget to send in a picture. We'll add it to

:08:54. > :08:58.the website if we can foster of its lovely to do something on

:08:58. > :09:03.television, then you send us pictures. It's really nice to see

:09:03. > :09:07.getting involved. But it's not just about chocolate, it's also about

:09:07. > :09:11.springtime and the babies that brings with it. They are really

:09:11. > :09:16.Keats, so I went to meet some of them. I knew that was coming!

:09:16. > :09:20.Easter, cuddly Easter bunnies and fluffy Easter chicks. But they are

:09:20. > :09:24.not the only animals you can see. At this time of the year, lots of

:09:24. > :09:27.cute babies are being born in zoos around the country. We thought we

:09:27. > :09:31.would give you a run-down of the ones you can see on your day out.

:09:31. > :09:38.As well as telling you where you can find the newest babies on the

:09:39. > :09:43.block, we are finding out which is top of the cuteness charts. First,

:09:43. > :09:50.we are starting in Blackpool with a western lowland gorilla. She is

:09:50. > :09:55.capturing the hearts of visitors. This is amazing, how old is she?

:09:55. > :09:59.She will be two this year. generally eats things like baked

:09:59. > :10:03.potatoes, vegetables and lots of fruit. But would you believe that

:10:03. > :10:07.one of her favourite treats his rice and Marmite? Just like any

:10:07. > :10:11.small person in the family, as soon as somebody comes over they start

:10:11. > :10:15.to show off. I think she might be doing that now. She definitely

:10:15. > :10:24.shows off when we bring people down. It usually means there is food as

:10:24. > :10:30.well. She likes to act up. Quite a good dancer, as well! With her big

:10:30. > :10:36.brown eyes and impressive dance moves, she scores eight Skipness

:10:36. > :10:39.racing -- a cuteness rating of four. Just around the corner are four

:10:39. > :10:45.very clingy new arrivals. It you have seen it Madagascar, you will

:10:45. > :10:48.recognise these. These are ringtailed lemur us. They are named

:10:48. > :10:52.after their distinctive striped tails, which they used to help

:10:52. > :10:57.identify themselves. They are cute when they are older, but the little

:10:57. > :11:02.ones are a different type of cute. Look at the size of these two. How

:11:02. > :11:07.old are they? We have four sets of twins that were born at the end of

:11:07. > :11:12.February. We have warned that was born this morning. The babies are

:11:12. > :11:18.tiny. They only way 70 grams. They are still clinging to their mother,

:11:18. > :11:22.said the keepers can't tell if they are boys of girls yet. I think

:11:22. > :11:25.these baby lemurs are adorable. Because they are still clinging to

:11:25. > :11:33.their mother we can see too much of them, so they get a rating of three

:11:33. > :11:38.out of five. Now we are off to Longleat Safari Park in Wiltshire,

:11:38. > :11:42.where this pair of baby burrowing owls have just come along. They are

:11:42. > :11:46.named Linford and Christie, after the Olympic gold medal-winner. They

:11:46. > :11:52.are so tiny that during the day they have been having a rest in

:11:52. > :11:58.teacups! They are unusual because unlike most owls they stay awake

:11:58. > :12:04.during the day. I reckon they are really cute. I'm going to give them

:12:04. > :12:10.full marks, five out of five. Next on our hunt for the key just animal

:12:10. > :12:16.babies on the block, we are heading to Edinburgh zoo to see a newborn

:12:16. > :12:20.pigmeat -- pygmy hippo. Until a few weeks ago, she was spending the day

:12:20. > :12:24.in enclosure. But she is giving the visitors a treat by taking her

:12:24. > :12:27.first steps outside. But she never gets too far away from mum. She

:12:27. > :12:31.might look cute now, but when she's older she will develop big sharp

:12:31. > :12:36.teeth, which the hippos used to protect themselves in the wild.

:12:36. > :12:42.Although they are small, they can be very aggressive. For that reason,

:12:42. > :12:48.I'm going to give her a cuteness rating of three. Where now heading

:12:48. > :12:52.south, to Chester Zoo, to see if their new arrivals can equal the

:12:52. > :12:57.baby al's rating of five out of five. First, the newborns in the

:12:57. > :13:04.meerkat enclosure. How many babies do we have? Three. How old are

:13:05. > :13:09.they? Just over four weeks. You are very lucky to see them today.

:13:09. > :13:13.small are they? How much do their way? When they are tiny, about 30

:13:13. > :13:18.grams. About the same as a packet of crisps. That in itself is cute,

:13:18. > :13:22.isn't it? Definitely. For an animal that always seemed to be on the

:13:22. > :13:27.lookout for stuff, they must have amazing eyesight? Really good, they

:13:27. > :13:33.can see up to 300 metres. Let's work that out. If an Olympic-sized

:13:33. > :13:40.swimming pool is 50 metres, that is six of them. That is a long way.

:13:40. > :13:43.They are so cool, aren't they? The pointy nose is very sweet, and the

:13:43. > :13:48.fact they only way the same as a packet of crisps means that I will

:13:48. > :13:53.give them a really salted cuteness rating of three out of five. Still

:13:53. > :13:59.at Chester Zoo, Ovett in the tapir enclosure. How old is she? About

:13:59. > :14:03.three months old. They are related to horses and rhinos. This one

:14:03. > :14:06.weighs 50 kilograms, which means she already weighs the same as 50

:14:06. > :14:10.bags of sugar. There are a lot of obvious things which are different

:14:10. > :14:15.between the baby and her mother. The stripes, can you explain why

:14:15. > :14:20.that is? That is so they are, Slochd from predators. As they get

:14:20. > :14:27.bigger, their habitat changes slightly the strikes begin to fade.

:14:27. > :14:31.What about the noses? They are very special? The tapirs spend a lot of

:14:31. > :14:35.time in rivers. They live by them in the forests. They can go

:14:35. > :14:41.underneath and they will stick them out of the water, like a snorkel.

:14:41. > :14:45.She's lovely. How cute is that? Do you want one? She's pretty cute,

:14:45. > :14:55.but tapirs themselves are less cute when fully grown. I'll give her a

:14:55. > :14:56.

:14:56. > :15:01.Scott was born last October, and as you can see, he struggled to stand

:15:01. > :15:07.up at first. His mum was pregnant for an amazing 700 days before she

:15:07. > :15:12.finally gave birth. I think it was worth the wait, though! Here is

:15:12. > :15:17.something cool. Did you know that an elephant's trunk contains 100

:15:18. > :15:23.muscles? That is very strong. Scott has got to be one of the cutes

:15:23. > :15:33.babies I have ever seen, so he gets four out of five.

:15:33. > :15:34.

:15:34. > :15:38.At Belfast Zoo, two baby animals have been born recently. I like the

:15:38. > :15:47.adults, the babies have not grown horns. But they should start to

:15:47. > :15:56.grow within a couple of months. They have certainly got the Doe Lea

:15:56. > :16:00.I'd thing going on. I'll go to give them a cuteness rating of three.

:16:00. > :16:04.From Scott the elephant's attempts to stay on his feet to the meerkats

:16:04. > :16:09.weighing the same as a bag of crisps, all eight of the animals we

:16:09. > :16:14.looked at our very cute. But there can be only one winner, and with

:16:14. > :16:21.five out of five, it has to be the cute baby owls. Aren't they

:16:21. > :16:31.adorable? They are just some of the cute animals in and around the

:16:31. > :16:32.

:16:32. > :16:36.country. Maybe you can find a 2-1 If you are a fan of Demi Lovato,

:16:36. > :16:46.you may wonder where she has been hiding. She was everywhere recently.

:16:46. > :16:49.

:16:49. > :16:51.But she has been missing from the celebrity scene for a while.

:16:51. > :16:55.Well, not everything's been plain sailing for Demi, so because we

:16:55. > :16:58.find out the facts other shows can't, we sent radio 1 DJ Tom

:16:58. > :17:03.Deacon to catch up with her at an exclusive, secret location and get

:17:03. > :17:11.the inside story on her recent troubles.

:17:11. > :17:15.On top of her screen success, Demi's love of writing and

:17:15. > :17:19.performing led to her relating two albums before she was 18. Becoming

:17:19. > :17:24.famous at a young age may seem like -- like a dream come true, but

:17:24. > :17:28.being now on around the world brings a lot of pressure. Today I

:17:28. > :17:33.am meeting Demi in a London hotel to ask her some questions about the

:17:33. > :17:39.realities of being an international star. And to find out why she has

:17:39. > :17:42.been out of the limelight. Welcome, Demi, it is a pleasure to see you.

:17:42. > :17:46.Thank you. It is a pleasure to be here.

:17:46. > :17:50.We are here because you have got a brand new skin -- single, caught

:17:50. > :17:55.Skyscraper. When I wanted to come out with my

:17:55. > :18:00.new single, I chose a song that had a lot of depth and meaning. It is

:18:00. > :18:05.no secret that I have had a lot of troubles over the past few years.

:18:05. > :18:09.It is basically about overcoming any obstacles or issues that are in

:18:09. > :18:19.your life and just rising above it and standing tall. Like a

:18:19. > :18:28.

:18:29. > :18:36.What sort of problems did you face? Well, I struggled from an eating

:18:36. > :18:40.disorder and I also suffered from a mood disorder. Where do you think

:18:40. > :18:43.these conditions came from? Did they come from the fact that you

:18:44. > :18:50.were thrown into the limelight at such a young age?

:18:50. > :18:54.I don't think that it helps that I was in the spotlight so quickly,

:18:54. > :18:58.but it definitely was not the start of my problems. I actually was

:18:58. > :19:02.bullied when I was 12 years old, and a lot of the things they said

:19:03. > :19:07.were about my weight. So I was about 12 when my eating disorder

:19:07. > :19:11.started. That was my way of dealing with the pain and suffering.

:19:11. > :19:14.I guess a lot of teenagers of the same age are going through the same

:19:14. > :19:19.problems, so it does not just happen to people in the limelight.

:19:19. > :19:21.Totally. So you have to build your

:19:21. > :19:26.confidence back up to where it was before.

:19:26. > :19:31.Now that I am getting older and I have dealt with a lot of my issues,

:19:31. > :19:35.I have gained confidence. I am learning how to really love myself.

:19:35. > :19:39.But I think that anybody who has dealt with an eating disorder can

:19:39. > :19:44.say that it never goes away. There is there a thought in your head

:19:44. > :19:49.that wants to control you and control what you eat, and it is

:19:49. > :19:59.hard to deal with. It is a daily struggle. But as long as you can

:19:59. > :20:06.

:20:06. > :20:10.take it one day at a time, you are So, Demi, what advice would you

:20:10. > :20:17.give to anybody who is a teen dealing with the issues you have

:20:17. > :20:21.had? If you are a teen dealing with eating disorders or bullying, say

:20:21. > :20:26.something. Don't keep it to yourself. Don't let it bottled up

:20:26. > :20:30.inside. You need to tell somebody. It has been a tough ride for Demi,

:20:30. > :20:34.and you guys missed her, because last weekend the message board went

:20:34. > :20:39.into overdrive when you heard I was coming to meet her today. Here are

:20:39. > :20:46.just some of your questions. Are you ready? Let's do it. When you

:20:46. > :20:51.are down, how do you stay strong and smile? Sometimes I forced

:20:51. > :20:55.myself to smile. Smiling actually has been proven to lift your mood,

:20:55. > :21:02.which is interesting. When you are mad or something, just smile and it

:21:02. > :21:12.makes you feel better. interesting question - what is the

:21:12. > :21:15.best thing about being famous? think the best thing about being

:21:15. > :21:22.famous is being able to use your voice was something greater than

:21:22. > :21:26.just music and television. You can use it for something good, like

:21:26. > :21:30.raising awareness of bullying and eating disorders.

:21:30. > :21:40.Demi Lovato, it has been a pleasure chatting to you. It is lovely to

:21:40. > :21:42.

:21:42. > :21:45.see you again. It is so good to see Demi back in

:21:45. > :21:48.action. Here, we like to give you the low-

:21:48. > :21:54.down on everything you are talking about. So when we heard about our

:21:54. > :21:59.next story, we thought we needed to send somebody special... Somebody

:21:59. > :22:09.clever, somebody that could really get to the story... It really

:22:09. > :22:18.

:22:33. > :22:38.dressing-room. What a show-off! He likes to think he is king of the

:22:38. > :22:48.studio. Barney's status means there are plenty of friends keen to hang

:22:48. > :22:51.

:22:51. > :22:56.Today he is on his way to meet a very unusual type of dog. He is

:22:56. > :23:03.pink, with black spots. And he loves rolling around in the mud.

:23:39. > :23:44.When I was born I was too slow -- small to go in with the other pigs.

:23:48. > :23:52.to the stye, I had sampled the dog's life and I liked it.

:23:52. > :23:57.I have heard that as well as living like a dog, you have also got some

:24:11. > :24:17.put together for dogs, but the peak has got it mastered. While he shows

:24:17. > :24:22.off on the assault course, Barney interrogates his owners.

:24:22. > :24:26.So, how did he get into doing dock assault courses? I was trying to

:24:26. > :24:31.teach the dog to go through one of the tunnels, and he ran through the

:24:31. > :24:34.tunnel quicker than I got the dog to do it. So how does he put his

:24:34. > :24:39.skills to use? Does he do competitions?

:24:39. > :24:44.He is a real star. He is part of the Cheshire Dog Display Team. He

:25:29. > :25:37.Honestly, what that dog won't do for a slice of ham. Now there's no

:26:55. > :26:59.car and pretended it was a fine. Maisie has said that she gave her

:26:59. > :27:03.brother a drink of prune juice, saying it was Coca-Cola. His
