:00:10. > :00:13.I'm Jack Black. Today on Blue Peter, I'm not only going to be answering
:00:14. > :00:23.questions from your head. I'm going to be teaching these guys some
:00:24. > :00:39.
:00:39. > :00:47.Hello. Also today, we're launching a competition, mainly between you
:00:47. > :00:52.and me. Isn't CBBC Summer Sports Stars 2011. It was jolly good fun.
:00:52. > :00:56.Not one of us took it way too seriously. Now welcome back a man
:00:56. > :01:00.who has become a legend. You will no doubt have seen over the past
:01:00. > :01:06.few days that our Andy has been setting new world records. Let's
:01:06. > :01:11.give him the welcome he deserves - Andy Akinwolere!
:01:11. > :01:14.APPLAUSE Thank you very much. You know
:01:14. > :01:18.you've done something all right when you come out of the shed with
:01:19. > :01:23.a bit of smoke. It's all good. Let's talk about it, two world
:01:23. > :01:27.records. Yeah, it was really G I have to say something quickly now,
:01:27. > :01:33.because we first set out to the Maraina Trench. We didn't get to do
:01:33. > :01:42.it because of logistic reasons. We did something just as good. We swam
:01:42. > :01:45.over the Pilau Trench. A lovely dismount. A belly flop.
:01:45. > :01:49.The swim was lovely. It was warm. We were blessed because the
:01:49. > :01:54.conditions were perfect. Usually that part of the world, it's rainy,
:01:54. > :02:01.really stormy. Perfect conditions. But undoubtedly a very intimidated
:02:01. > :02:06.feat. You even made the news. was brilliant. I was swimming over
:02:06. > :02:10.8,000 feet of water. Like, I had divers under me. They were filming
:02:10. > :02:13.me to make sure there weren't any sharks. I looked down and those
:02:13. > :02:17.guys went down 30 metres. I couldn't believe what was happening
:02:17. > :02:22.around me. It was bizarre. I had to take a bit of time off just to
:02:22. > :02:25.realise what was going on. It was fantastic. When you're speaking
:02:25. > :02:31.8,000 metres above the bottom of something, I couldn't do that in a
:02:31. > :02:35.boat. This is a strange fact. If I drowned it would have taken me
:02:35. > :02:39.three-and-a-half hours to get to the bottom. Another world record!
:02:39. > :02:42.Watch it, it's a Blue Peter special on June 20th. See exactly what
:02:42. > :02:48.happened. I couldn't have done it without your help. Thank you for
:02:48. > :02:52.getting me this far. Andy off the telly everybody. Two world records.
:02:52. > :02:56.Now something else with legendary status.
:02:56. > :03:01.Questions from your head! This is the part of the show where we
:03:01. > :03:06.answer questions from your very strange heads. Today, we have a
:03:06. > :03:11.Hollywood superstar helping us out. Everybody, Jack Black, is back!
:03:11. > :03:19.# You're the best around # Nothing's going to keep you down
:03:19. > :03:25.Welcome to the show. The applause startled her. Sit next to papa.
:03:25. > :03:30.She's used to the showbiz lifestyle. I've been on the receiving end of
:03:30. > :03:38.your master skills of kung fu. You have the mastery of knowledge as
:03:38. > :03:45.well. Your first question is there. Fire away. It would be my pleasure.
:03:45. > :03:50.BeigecookingGuava asks "What is the world's smelliest cheese?"
:03:50. > :03:54.going with stilton or Danish blue. They are stinky. But not the
:03:54. > :04:04.stinkiest. In 2004 scientists at Cranfield University carried out
:04:04. > :04:07.
:04:07. > :04:16.tests with special electronic noses and concluded that the French trees
:04:16. > :04:22.-- cheese Vieux Boulogne is the smelliest. It is like old ear wax.
:04:22. > :04:30.It's pretty good. Master of knock, -- knowledge all from his head. Now
:04:30. > :04:39.this one says "How many 2p coins are in circulation?" As of April
:04:39. > :04:49.2010 there were 6,664,000,000 That's worth a total of
:04:49. > :04:51.
:04:51. > :04:54.133,265,000. That's a lot of 2ps. That is. Next one, Ameobi asks "--
:04:54. > :05:00.AmethystCyclingGrape asks "Do cats have bones in their tails?" Yeah,
:05:00. > :05:06.this is handy because I happen to be a cat expert too. Yes they do.
:05:06. > :05:11.According to Cats Protection, a cat's tail is an extension of its
:05:11. > :05:17.spine. It consists of between 16 to 21 small bones called vertebrae
:05:17. > :05:20.allowing the tail to be flexible. Happy cat, when you see the tail go
:05:20. > :05:26.vertical like this and a little question mark. The guy has
:05:26. > :05:31.knowledge. Those pale into insignificance when it comes to the
:05:31. > :05:35.next part of the show. Everybody, it's time for the big question.
:05:35. > :05:39.Look at that, it gets a drum roll and everything. That question comes
:05:39. > :05:43.from GoldBreezyPhoenix. I love these names people. What is the
:05:43. > :05:48.longest time ever that anyone has stayed under water for? I presume
:05:48. > :05:53.that's a holding their breath thing. I held my breath for two minutes
:05:53. > :05:57.once. That might be the record actually. If it's a world record it
:05:57. > :06:03.needs to be more impressive. Maybe two-and-a-half. Impossible to go
:06:03. > :06:06.more than four minutes. Do you know the answer? Our master of kung fu
:06:06. > :06:15.probably does. E-mail us or if you're watching on BBC One, if you
:06:15. > :06:19.get in touch we might read it out on the show.
:06:19. > :06:22.Because we know you like cats, I have brought back the cat. I have
:06:22. > :06:30.brought you a present. This is your second appearance on Blue Peter,
:06:30. > :06:31.we're going to upgrade you to a silver badge. Give the man some
:06:31. > :06:38.applause. APPLAUSE
:06:38. > :06:47.There you go. Silver - nice! Thank you so much. I have to ask you
:06:47. > :06:52.about Kung Fu Panda 2. I loved the first. A master of kung fu and
:06:52. > :06:56.badges. How on earth do you top the first one, that was great? Kung Fu
:06:56. > :07:02.Panda 2, we had to, yeah, we had pressure because the first was so
:07:02. > :07:06.good. What we did was put in even better kung fu moves, the artistry
:07:07. > :07:12.is even of a higher degree and also it's funnier and finally there's an
:07:12. > :07:17.amazing message in there. What's the message? The message is inner
:07:17. > :07:27.peace is the key to happiness. can have a quick look. Check it out.
:07:27. > :07:43.
:07:43. > :07:50.Yee-haw! The dragon warrior. panda? That's impossible. My fist
:07:50. > :07:58.hungers for justice. That was my fist.
:07:58. > :08:02.I miss today and it's in 3-D. going to test your kung fu skills
:08:02. > :08:09.later on. We've got you a fancy jacket and everything. This time
:08:09. > :08:14.last year we held a competition called CBBC Star Striker. It Qom
:08:14. > :08:18.very competitive. People took it very seriously. Mark was crowned
:08:18. > :08:20.the winner. This year, we didn't want to let you down. We have
:08:20. > :08:27.another competition. There were two teams. It happened in Brighton and
:08:27. > :08:37.some of us got a bit carried away. Sunny Brighton, home of CBBC's
:08:37. > :08:42.summer sports staurz -- stars 20011. It's here that -- 2011. It's here
:08:42. > :08:48.that the teams will battle it out in cool summer sports. We've
:08:48. > :08:55.gathered together the best sports stars CBBC has to offer. Many my
:08:56. > :09:05.team from live and deadly Naomi. From hotel Trouble Dominique.
:09:05. > :09:13.Sportsround Ore. From all offer the place, Ed. From the CBBC office Ian.
:09:13. > :09:17.And from Roar, Jonny. For the oney team the prestigious
:09:17. > :09:27.CBBC Summer Sports Stars trophy. For the losing captain a messy
:09:27. > :09:28.
:09:28. > :09:37.forfeit in the deck chair of doom. Welcome to the CBBC Summer Sports
:09:37. > :09:42.Stars 2011. Come on! The first game has been picked by me, dodgeball.
:09:42. > :09:49.I've changed it a bit, and brought you to the beach. I give you beach
:09:49. > :09:54.dodgeball. Dodgeball is a fast paced game
:09:54. > :09:59.which started in American schools. You throw balls at your opponent to
:09:59. > :10:03.take them out of the game. It's an international sport. Everybody
:10:03. > :10:10.welcome Ryan and Mike. Ryan is the captain of the England squad and
:10:10. > :10:15.has the fastest recorded dodgeball throw at 62mph. And Mike, he takes
:10:15. > :10:19.the game out to schools and encourages kids to get involved in
:10:19. > :10:24.this action-packed sport. What skill doz we need? You need to be
:10:24. > :10:29.fast, agile. Moving around a lot. You need to work as a team. No one
:10:29. > :10:34.individual, so working well. Let's get to it.
:10:34. > :10:38.With an hour of training before our big match, we have a lot to learn.
:10:38. > :10:42.The game starts with a sprint to the centre to get hold of the three
:10:43. > :10:51.balls in play. Once you've got a ball, the idea is
:10:51. > :10:57.to throw it at your opponents. If your opponent is hit, they are
:10:58. > :11:04.out. Try to throw at the front leg. Aim for the shins.
:11:04. > :11:12.If your opponent catches the ball, you are out.
:11:12. > :11:17.The aim of the game is all in the name - dodgeball. Dodge that ball!
:11:17. > :11:22.If I lose this, I will never hear the end of it. I don't think team
:11:22. > :11:27.Helen stands a chance. Ian is a Dark Horse. I know he come as cross
:11:27. > :11:34.as comedy, but he's fast. Ed does a weird dance when he throws and runs.
:11:34. > :11:39.That will put them off. Naomi is competitive. Jonny a astrong.
:11:39. > :11:46.try to make the comedy card, but when it comes to the match they'll
:11:46. > :11:52.concentrate. I hope they will. neek... Ah, have to get back to
:11:52. > :11:57.that later (Dominique) Time to gather our strength for the big
:11:57. > :12:01.match. Here it is the first event in CBBC's Summer Sports Stars. The
:12:01. > :12:11.winner gets five points on the leaderboard. I've been given the
:12:11. > :12:14.job of the tank at the back, to launch the missiles. I'm scared.
:12:14. > :12:19.hand-eye coordination is famously terrible. Thfrpblgts means
:12:19. > :12:24.everything to me. I'm quite happy. Have you to make the best of what
:12:24. > :12:31.you've got. For all you skinny people out there Stirling is
:12:31. > :12:36.bringing it home. Skeleton! match today will be the best of
:12:36. > :12:46.five three-minute games. Each game is one when either team has no
:12:46. > :12:50.
:12:50. > :12:57.five seconds. First attack, nothing, no hits. That's a poor effort
:12:57. > :13:05.really. Naomi is breaking from the back,
:13:05. > :13:13.he's caught up. She's out. Text book catching from Barney there.
:13:13. > :13:18.Oh, Ore's out. The power house is out! Helen retaliates, clumsy from
:13:18. > :13:24.Barney. He's gone. Both captains are out now. Chaos. He's out. He's
:13:24. > :13:31.out. 1-0 team Barney. Game two, another explosive start.
:13:31. > :13:34.Team Ellen on the -- team Helen on the back foot. All three balls
:13:34. > :13:39.aimed at Helen, that's bullying, but excellent dodgeball. Helen, you
:13:39. > :13:44.are out. So is Barney - both captains out
:13:44. > :13:48.again! The balls are flying everywhere. It's like the lottery
:13:48. > :13:57.machine out there. Seconds left. Jonny catches. Ore out! Team Barney
:13:57. > :14:04.win again. We both threw it to him, so low, low, low. Just got to soak
:14:04. > :14:09.up the pressure guys. Dodge it and then explode If we can get Ore out,
:14:09. > :14:15.everyone else loses confidence. You're right. It's crunch time for
:14:15. > :14:20.team Helen. They have to win this one.
:14:20. > :14:24.Careful Jonny. She's a wild one. Wild or not she can't throw for
:14:24. > :14:34.toffee. That's got to be the dodge of the
:14:34. > :14:34.
:14:34. > :14:39.day. Ore's on fire. Dominique's out. No wonder she's facing the wrong
:14:39. > :14:45.way, turning her back on the action and her team-mates too.
:14:45. > :14:50.Ore the power house taking out Ed. And Ian with a final catch, that's
:14:50. > :14:55.a much needed point for team Helen. We had four, they had two. We only
:14:56. > :14:59.did it because it makes good telly. Good telly or not, Helen's team
:14:59. > :15:05.back in the game. Five points on the board to the winners of this
:15:05. > :15:11.event. The tank launches a missile. Oh, nothing. Ore has Jonny bad. He
:15:11. > :15:18.takes it out on Naomi, right on the shins. It's Helen, nothing.
:15:18. > :15:23.Dominique takes Helen out and Ian's gone. It's all over, amazing!
:15:23. > :15:29.feels great to be winner at the moment. Helen will not be happy
:15:29. > :15:31.about losing here. That victory was down to me and my distracting dance.
:15:31. > :15:39.Weakest link right there. High five Weakest link right there. High five
:15:39. > :15:43.for the team. Well done Barney, I'm pleased that
:15:43. > :15:47.you won. And well done orange team even though we lost. Thanks Helen.
:15:47. > :15:51.It's four events in total. Three more to go. You might win the next
:15:51. > :16:01.three, you never know. It's all to play for. Yes. One more thing for
:16:01. > :16:01.
:16:01. > :16:06.us to say, before we go, Barney army! So after a win, Barney has
:16:06. > :16:10.five points on the leaderboard. Next time on CBBC Summer Sports
:16:10. > :16:14.Stars with everything to play for... We need to win this one. It has
:16:14. > :16:19.worked out quite well for Helen. The competition hots up when we
:16:19. > :16:24.take to the high seas. Thfrpblgts will come down to who can hold
:16:24. > :16:30.their nerve. Be positive. There's thrills, spills and an accident
:16:30. > :16:36.that threatens to put one of our contestants out of the competition.
:16:36. > :16:45.Who will reign supreme and who will be one step near ter a gunging in
:16:45. > :16:50.the deck chair of doom? You lost a little game there did you?
:16:50. > :16:58.Is this a world first, Helen Skelton lost something? I let
:16:58. > :17:02.myself down. I let my team down. I'm not comfortable with losing.
:17:02. > :17:07.Helen is a hero. Call her superwoman. That's lovely. Really
:17:07. > :17:16.nice. It says, when she loses she scares the pants off me. Ore is a
:17:16. > :17:19.big dude. He's stacked. Look, park your gloating. All right, this is
:17:19. > :17:24.the first chapter of the competition. You have a long way to
:17:24. > :17:31.go to get your hands on this trophy. I'm going to hand out -- hang out
:17:31. > :17:35.with an international movie star. All right for some.
:17:35. > :17:39.Hello Jack. Hello. Unnecessary that gloating. It was a bit. Unnecessary
:17:39. > :17:43.boys. Right now, as we know, in movies actors have to do research
:17:43. > :17:47.to find out about their parts, is that true of actors in animated
:17:47. > :17:52.movies? Of course, it's true. It's true in any kind of acting. It's
:17:52. > :17:57.important to do research. I'm glad you said that. We're about to test
:17:58. > :18:02.your kung fu skills in this: Jack versus black belt.
:18:02. > :18:07.Good that, isn't it? I should point out that I wore my white belt for
:18:07. > :18:13.fashion. I have a black belt at home. This is more summery. This is
:18:13. > :18:16.more, yeah exactly. We have recorded three kung fu experts
:18:16. > :18:20.performing three kung fu moves. I'm going to give you the name of the
:18:20. > :18:29.move and we'd like to see if you can perform it. I know all the
:18:29. > :18:32.moves, no problem. The first move is the third chi sau. I remember it
:18:32. > :18:37.is the third chi sau. I remember it like it was yesterday. It goes a
:18:37. > :18:47.little something like this. It's called the snake meets the tiger.
:18:47. > :18:51.
:18:51. > :19:01.Here is the snake meets the tiger! OK that was Jack's version. Let's
:19:01. > :19:18.
:19:18. > :19:24.bad. Luca wants you to perform the wooden dummy.
:19:24. > :19:29.Do you remember that? I'm doing it. No, no. Just kidding. The wooden
:19:29. > :19:39.dummy is an advanced move. It goes a little bit like this. It's a high
:19:39. > :20:00.
:20:00. > :20:05.kick with a snap snap. Oh, it's Yours had more energy. You pointed
:20:05. > :20:09.it out, it's true, mine had more energy. The third and final move,
:20:09. > :20:17.you can maybe redeem yourself, see if you can get close to this one.
:20:17. > :20:20.It's from Tia. It's chain punches with pop-up kick. This is the
:20:20. > :20:29.perfect move if you're attacked by four different asail yants. You be
:20:30. > :20:39.one of them. There's one, there's two, three, four.
:20:40. > :20:53.
:20:53. > :20:58.yourselves a nice little dance together. I failed the test. But I
:20:58. > :21:00.think you'll admit my moves were entertaining. You succeeded on many
:21:00. > :21:06.other levels. Jack, thank you very much. Thank you.
:21:06. > :21:10.APPLAUSE APPLAUSE
:21:10. > :21:14.Questions from your head! What a legend. Now let's talk about the
:21:14. > :21:18.big question from today's question from your head. This was sent in by
:21:18. > :21:22.GoldBreezyPhoenix: What is the longest time ever that anyone has
:21:22. > :21:27.stayed under water for? Jack reckons he can stay under for two-
:21:27. > :21:35.and-a-half minutes Max. I don't have a clue. We have asked to you
:21:35. > :21:39.get in touch. An e-mail here which says "I heard it was around 21
:21:39. > :21:45.minutes". Another one here from I don't know who this is from,"
:21:45. > :21:48.Apparently a man in Asia can deep dive and stay under water for nine
:21:48. > :21:53.minutes." That's a massive difference between nine minutes and
:21:53. > :21:58.21 minutes. They're just guesses. have no idea. I know we have a
:21:58. > :22:06.master of kung fu and knowledge with us today. You're sad that you
:22:06. > :22:13.missed that one move. I had one other move that was going to hit it.
:22:13. > :22:18.That is brilliant. We've had 9 minutes and 21 minutes. Which is
:22:18. > :22:24.the real one? Both are impossible. I'm going to say nine minutes.
:22:24. > :22:31.sorry to do this to you on live TV, if you could shuffle up your bum a
:22:31. > :22:36.little. There... That's right my magazine. How to breathe under
:22:36. > :22:46.water magazine. The world record for someone holding their breath
:22:46. > :22:47.
:22:47. > :22:56.under water was 220 minutes and 21 seconds a man from Brazil managed
:22:56. > :22:59.that last year. That's incredible. It was under my bum! You can
:23:00. > :23:05.breathe from anywhere these days. That's the answer to your question,
:23:05. > :23:10.20 minutes and 21 seconds. Don't try that at home. If you want to
:23:10. > :23:15.ask any questions, get in touch. Go online and while you're there,
:23:15. > :23:19.there's a new section called "jokes for Jack". You can tell Jack a joke
:23:19. > :23:22.and try to make him laugh. Have a go. That's all we have time for
:23:23. > :23:28.today. I'm very sad to say goodbye to you. You're a pleasure to have
:23:28. > :23:31.the studio. It's fun to be here. round of applause for Jack!
:23:31. > :23:41.APPLAUSE You could teach the boys your moves.
:23:41. > :23:41.
:23:41. > :23:46.You want to use those on the dance floor That's a bit of a river dance.
:23:46. > :23:52.Join us next time when we see who wins the next round of CBBC summer
