:02:38. > :02:43.a special Shroot for people to put sponsorship in. We've been asking

:02:43. > :02:53.you to say hello. This week we went to Cornwall and we dropped in to

:02:53. > :02:55.

:02:56. > :03:00.We are just moments away from surprising ago pyjamas event in

:03:00. > :03:04.Truro. Normally we would surprise you by walking through a door or

:03:04. > :03:11.arriving on a motorbike. Today we are going to be arriving from the

:03:11. > :03:16.skies. Thanks to our friends in the Royal Navy, they train to me

:03:16. > :03:21.earlier this year. They are going to attempt as a prize like no other.

:03:21. > :03:26.We will be winched down from this. For this is a Sea King Mark 5

:03:26. > :03:30.helicopter, the cornerstone of 771 Naval Air Squadron search and

:03:30. > :03:35.rescue team, saving lives for nearly 60 years. On the ground

:03:35. > :03:45.below, a group of children from a local team -- school are about to

:03:45. > :03:45.

:03:45. > :04:27.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 42 seconds

:04:27. > :04:31.begin a walk in their pyjamas to With our feet on the ground, it's

:04:31. > :04:41.time to swap high flying for sleepwalking as we joined in with a

:04:41. > :04:42.

:04:42. > :04:47.Barney and I just dropping in wasn't the only surprise today.

:04:47. > :04:53.Like any sleepwalk, we had to wait for darkness before we could reveal

:04:53. > :05:02.the spectacular finale to our Go Pyjamas appeal. Have you had fun so

:05:02. > :05:07.far? Yes. Do you want a bit more fun? Yes. I do. Who can see a big

:05:07. > :05:11.red box with a big red button? can. You can't press the red button.

:05:11. > :05:18.The surprise was you and me arriving, surely there are no more

:05:18. > :05:28.surprises. Who thinks I should press the big red bus in? Near! 3,

:05:28. > :05:43.

:05:43. > :05:51.Brilliant, loud and really exciting. Amazing! Every part of it was

:05:51. > :05:57.really cool. And we're going to raise lots of money, too. They are

:05:57. > :06:02.absolutely incredible! If you have held an event so far, thank you.

:06:02. > :06:12.you haven't, don't worry, Children In Need is tomorrow and you still

:06:12. > :06:19.

:06:19. > :06:22.have time. Get those pyjamas on and It was amazing. Thank you to mark

:06:23. > :06:27.and the British champions. Thank you to those guys for letting us

:06:27. > :06:32.know what they were doing. If you want us to mention your name on the

:06:32. > :06:36.television, or e-mail us. We will try to read out yours before the

:06:36. > :06:40.end. The even though Children In Need is tomorrow, there's still

:06:40. > :06:45.time for you to raise the money. All of the details you need are

:06:45. > :06:50.online. Once you've got your money, get an adult to help you pay it in.

:06:51. > :06:55.A little bit later, you can find out how we got on when we

:06:55. > :07:00.gatecrashed radio and TV studios across the country. I was amazed at

:07:00. > :07:04.how many people were keen to get involved. It is for such a special

:07:04. > :07:09.cause. This is all about raising money for Children In Need and

:07:09. > :07:15.recently I met Connor who told me why that money was so needed.

:07:15. > :07:21.This is Walker, home to a very special place. It might look like a

:07:22. > :07:26.school or youth club, but there's more to it than that. From arts and

:07:26. > :07:31.craft to bike repair, and would work to pottery. Kate's cabin

:07:31. > :07:35.provides children with practical skills for the future. Will Benson

:07:35. > :07:41.has been part of the project for years and knows it inside out. Why

:07:41. > :07:44.do you need this here? Walker is an area of disadvantage in Newcastle.

:07:44. > :07:50.Kids don't seem to have an outlook or any support to do creative

:07:50. > :07:53.activities at home. I meet kids at the age of 12 who have never picked

:07:53. > :07:57.up a saw before book you have never cooked. A lot of kids here would

:07:57. > :08:01.not have the same opportunities kids elsewhere get. It looks like a

:08:01. > :08:07.very creative place. It is so cool. There are all kinds of things to

:08:07. > :08:11.look at. A lot of primary schools don't have facilities for woodwork,

:08:11. > :08:15.pottery. They may do a little bit with drawing and painting. We try

:08:15. > :08:21.to provide something schools can't provide. They are important live

:08:21. > :08:25.schools -- life skills. This is Connor, one of the many children

:08:25. > :08:33.supported here and before I get the low-down from him, he will show me

:08:33. > :08:43.some of his baking skills. Over to you. What are we doing? We've put

:08:43. > :08:44.

:08:44. > :08:49.400 ounces... 400? Four ounces! Sugar. That is about it. We need to

:08:49. > :08:59.stare this until it is creamy. that pass? A little bit more creamy,

:08:59. > :09:04.please. Sorry! We need two eggs. Four announces a flower. -- four

:09:04. > :09:14.ounces of flour. Fancy yourself as a TV chef? I would like to be like

:09:14. > :09:15.

:09:15. > :09:18.While the Martin's Bay, Connor tells me how kids cabin has helped

:09:18. > :09:23.him through some difficult times. You live with your gran and

:09:23. > :09:26.granddad because you -- you lost your mum. When I was young. My dad

:09:26. > :09:35.has been in prison most of my life. Do you remember much about your

:09:35. > :09:38.mum? Not really. I can't really remember her face. When you are

:09:38. > :09:42.here, do your gran and granddad worry about what you're doing?

:09:42. > :09:51.knows this place and she knows it is safe. They help you at the same

:09:51. > :09:56.time. They help you cook, they help you saw. Saw? Sewing. Knitting.

:09:56. > :10:01.That is your accent! If I was watching this at home and I saw you

:10:01. > :10:11.getting to do all of this stuff, I would be really jealous. Yes. I

:10:11. > :10:12.

:10:12. > :10:16.Despite a challenging childhood, Connor is full of confidence and

:10:16. > :10:22.enthusiasm. I can't help but think that kids cabin has been a massive

:10:22. > :10:25.influence on him and children in the local area. If you guys Go

:10:25. > :10:33.Pyjamas for Children In Need, you will be helping fund projects like

:10:33. > :10:41.this. Were fit? Were fit! -- worth it. He is rubbish at painting!

:10:41. > :10:45.are rubbish at baking! I don't know what he's on about. I want you to

:10:45. > :10:51.Go Pyjamas for Blue Peter and Children In Need. This is Lewis-

:10:51. > :10:55.Smith and I want you to Go Pyjamas. By Lisa, I want you to Go Pyjamas.

:10:55. > :11:00.I'm Kimberley, I want you to Go Pyjamas for Blue Peter and Children

:11:00. > :11:05.In Need. By Michael Vaughan and I want you to Go Pyjamas for Blue

:11:05. > :11:10.Peter and Children In Need. Nicky Byrne and I want you to Go

:11:10. > :11:16.Pyjamas for Blue Peter and Children In Need. I love Kimberley Walsh!

:11:16. > :11:21.She is lovely. If you are going to watch Children In Need tomorrow,

:11:21. > :11:27.you will want a big bowl of sweets. Yes. Including grandma and Barney

:11:27. > :11:32.the dog. We've got a British champion in the studio. He won the

:11:32. > :11:35.Great British Bake-Off and this is why. Competition was fierce this

:11:35. > :11:42.year when the Great British Bake- Off began. John's skills were put

:11:42. > :11:47.to the test kneading bread. Making brilliant bagels. Lovely with

:11:47. > :11:51.walnuts in cheese. He then created a mini, see him out of gingerbread.

:11:51. > :11:56.It is a magnificent construction. After 10 weeks, the final was an

:11:56. > :12:01.all-male affair. John's innovative heaven and hell Kate won him the

:12:01. > :12:10.title and a place in the nation's hearts. -- Kate. He is with us in

:12:10. > :12:15.the studio. It is John Whaite! Hello! Hello. Thank you for wearing

:12:15. > :12:18.your pyjamas for Children In Need. And getting into the spirit. Talk

:12:18. > :12:21.And getting into the spirit. Talk us through this fantastic creation.

:12:22. > :12:27.This is a meringue centrepiece creation. Be it looks complicated.

:12:27. > :12:31.It is actually very easy. You need to learn the steps, but once we

:12:31. > :12:35.show you how to make these meringue bites, you will be able to do it.

:12:35. > :12:40.It is a different way of doing it. How long did that take us back

:12:40. > :12:44.about 15 minutes to make and an hour in the oven and another hour

:12:44. > :12:48.to dry out. About two hours and 15 minutes, but only 15 minutes of

:12:48. > :12:52.working time. We will make some of these many bites over here, which

:12:52. > :12:56.are the building blocks. They are the foundation for the meringue

:12:56. > :13:04.centrepiece. A few minutes ago, Connor told me I was rubbish at

:13:05. > :13:14.baking. Everyone can bake! Unique four egg whites and whisk them

:13:14. > :13:19.until they are soft. You can take we Skelt -- take the whisk out.

:13:19. > :13:24.This takes ages. It is television. We've already got one we made

:13:24. > :13:28.earlier! You've added a bit of blue food colouring. When you add the

:13:28. > :13:32.food colouring, you add it with the sugar because if you add it after

:13:32. > :13:37.you have whipped the eggs, it goes wrong. Add the food colouring with

:13:37. > :13:41.the sugar. If you forget to do that, leave them white. I had a run-in

:13:41. > :13:48.with the food colouring earlier and it is all over my hands. It does

:13:48. > :13:57.Dame. I've noticed. When you have done the egg whites, but it into a

:13:57. > :14:01.piping bag. Or you could use a pint glass. Hold it open. It is

:14:01. > :14:07.literally a quite, sugar, whipped up with some food colouring. Yes,

:14:07. > :14:11.so simple. The consistency is key. Be needs to be fairly stiff. If it

:14:11. > :14:21.is to lose, it will run all over the baking tray and will not work.

:14:21. > :14:27.

:14:27. > :14:32.It needs to be nice and stiff. There you go. You twist the top and

:14:32. > :14:36.how I do it, I sort of squeeze it down, pull it up and squeeze it

:14:36. > :14:43.down again and pull it off. You get a peak. This is what I like, it is

:14:43. > :14:50.fun. Can I have a go? So you squeeze it up, down up. A bit

:14:50. > :14:57.enthusiastic.. That looks like something Barney would make!, the

:14:57. > :15:02.dog. I some I have made earlier. These have been in for a hour

:15:02. > :15:07.cooking, so you need to leave them to dry out. So bake for an hour. Oh

:15:07. > :15:11.dear. Just close that, we can't see. No-one saw! These have dried out

:15:11. > :15:16.and cooled down after they have been baked. It is important you

:15:16. > :15:21.leave them in for another hour after they have been baking.

:15:21. > :15:26.next stage is to sandwich them together. Bet the butter, sugar and

:15:26. > :15:32.you mix that together. Right. That is butter and icing sugar.

:15:32. > :15:39.whisk that together. When it is incorporated, you add some milk and

:15:39. > :15:44.you can add vanilla extract, and you pop it into a piping bag. We

:15:44. > :15:49.are sandwiching these. I will be less enthusiastic with this one.

:15:49. > :15:52.Bet the other and pop it on. Roll that in bits and Bobs, hundreds and

:15:52. > :15:57.thousands, whatever you wanted to call them. This is a fun way to

:15:57. > :16:03.bake. Do you enjoy baking now, because it was your hobby, it is

:16:03. > :16:08.your job now. I love baking. Now I am writing a book it is more fun.

:16:08. > :16:12.They are recipes that are my own, it is just such good fun, you can

:16:12. > :16:20.experiment with thing, if they go wrong you give to it the cat or dog.

:16:20. > :16:25.It doesn't matter, keep trying. can't give dogs some of this stuff.

:16:25. > :16:31.You can't really. Roll it round. If you are going to have a go, let us

:16:31. > :16:37.know, the details are on the website. Send us some photographs.

:16:37. > :16:42.Thank you. Can I pinch them and share them with Barney. Yes. They

:16:42. > :16:48.look amazing. Isn't he lovely? You get stuck in. If you were watching

:16:48. > :16:54.last week you might have been Barney. Look at his face. You might

:16:54. > :16:58.have seen him make Diwali candles. Kyle and Holly sent a photograph of

:16:58. > :17:02.the candles they made. They made a Christmas version. Thank you for

:17:02. > :17:08.those. We had another Holly get in touch from Edinburgh. She made a

:17:08. > :17:12.heart shaped candle. So thank you for those. If you want to have a go,

:17:12. > :17:16.the details are on the website. Helen and I set ourself a challenge,

:17:16. > :17:19.to get on as many TV shows and radio shows as we could to promote

:17:19. > :17:27.the Go Pyjamas appeal. We had a little challenge between ourselves,

:17:27. > :17:31.I had to say PJs as many and she had to say jim-jams. This is how we

:17:31. > :17:36.got on. We are about to start our 24-hour challenge and that is to

:17:36. > :17:44.get as many people involved in Go Pyjamas. We are going to start at

:17:44. > :17:54.Radio 1. We are asking kids to Go Pyjamas. Go school, Brownies in

:17:54. > :18:00.their pyjamas. Let me try this on. Where have you got to go to today?

:18:00. > :18:05.Radio 5 Live... You are going to gate crash. One down, Radio 1 down.

:18:05. > :18:10.20 to go. Next we are off to a daily chat show on Channel 5. We

:18:10. > :18:16.are about to go on to the Wright Stuff and sit in the audience.

:18:16. > :18:21.Barney is off the lead, anything could happen. Welcome to Helen,

:18:22. > :18:26.Barney and Barney the dog. You get your PJs. Jim-jams. We are all over

:18:26. > :18:36.the place. Trying to prove you can go anywhere and do anything in your

:18:36. > :18:36.

:18:36. > :18:43.jim-jams. They will remember us. think we should get Barney in PJs.

:18:43. > :18:49.Jim-jams. We are on our way to This Morning. I wish I had worn my badge.

:18:49. > :18:54.Have you got a Blue Peter badge? I would like one. If you put a

:18:54. > :18:57.onesie on we will give you one. That is no problem. Now you can

:18:57. > :19:05.legitimately wear your Blue Peter badge. Are you going to wear it for

:19:05. > :19:11.the rest of the show. Can I keep it? Of course, you have earned it.

:19:11. > :19:18.Next to the BBC to appear on the Richard Bacon show? Where we going

:19:18. > :19:21.next? I can't remember which radio show? You joking? I know we are

:19:21. > :19:26.show? You joking? I know we are supposed to be here. Radio, four,

:19:26. > :19:34.of of course. Why come out in pyjamas. It is fun and easy. I know

:19:34. > :19:39.you are cool for this kind of thing. We have an old onesie for you.

:19:39. > :19:44.is that? Gorgeous. Another grown up in a onesie who wasn't convinced

:19:44. > :19:49.and is. They are going to take over the world. Love PJs. Our next stop

:19:49. > :19:53.is 100 miles away in Birmingham and the traffic is terrible. I am West

:19:53. > :19:58.Midlands today. We are about to go on. Barney is not here. He is stuck

:19:58. > :20:02.in traffic. Barney the dog is here, so this could be the two of us.

:20:02. > :20:06.are you here? This year we are asking people to Go Pyjamas for

:20:06. > :20:09.Children In Need to wear their pyjamas over clothes and get

:20:09. > :20:15.sponsors. All in the name of Children In Need. It has been

:20:15. > :20:23.lovely to meet you. Thank you for having us. Hello! I am here. Let's

:20:23. > :20:29.do it. They have shut up, locked up and gone home. You missed it.

:20:29. > :20:34.no! After Birmingham we are on our way to Manchester. The next time we

:20:34. > :20:42.do a 24-hour challenge can we do it over 12 hours. Good evening. You

:20:42. > :20:49.are listening to Tony... Is cuddling better than... Yes, it is.

:20:49. > :20:54.We have to say hello. We have important news and we have a onesie.

:20:55. > :21:03.A Pudsey onesie. It is a tiring. have been told aim keeping this on

:21:03. > :21:08.for the rest of the programme. Would you? The best of luck. Tony

:21:17. > :21:22.next morning we are back on the sofas crashing Newsround.. Sorry to

:21:22. > :21:28.interrupt. What are you doing? You know we are reading the news.

:21:28. > :21:35.thought we would bring along some onesies. Stick them on, get

:21:35. > :21:42.sponsored for it. Are you tired? tired. We have one more thing to do

:21:42. > :21:47.we are going to Breakfast. That way. You have done 24-hours wearing

:21:47. > :21:54.pyjamas, where? We have been all over, London, Birmingham.

:22:00. > :22:06.dressed? I am going to gore a nap. We thought we would have to

:22:06. > :22:11.persuade people to get into their jim-jams. Louise brought hers in

:22:11. > :22:15.from home. They both left wearing pyjamas and one sis. Get your

:22:15. > :22:25.pyjamas on and raise some money for Children In Need. Now, if you will

:22:25. > :22:29.excuse me.. Nap time. The winner saying one million PJs to Helen's

:22:29. > :22:37.five jim-jams is Barney. Loads of you have been out and about

:22:37. > :22:40.including Melanie. She said my Rain bros group had party and we made

:22:40. > :22:47.fruit kebabs. James said we are having a Go Pyjamas day tomorrow,

:22:47. > :22:53.all my teachers and the headmaster are going to be wearing their

:22:53. > :22:58.pyjamas. Our school raised money by throwing sponges at the teachers.

:22:58. > :23:02.Shall we throw sponges at our boss? I think that is a great idea. You

:23:02. > :23:05.have heard about them, they are called Only Boys Aloud, they are

:23:05. > :23:09.the boys' choir that became the finalists in Britain's Got Talent

:23:09. > :23:13.and earlier they came in to sing a song for you in the spirit of

:23:13. > :23:20.Children In Need by wearing their PJs. You are going to love it. Only

:23:20. > :23:27.Only Boys Aloud look amazing, thank for getting involved. The smartest

:23:27. > :23:32.group of people in pyjamas. They look like mini suits. Have you worn

:23:32. > :23:37.pyjamas in public? No. You have had an amazing year, you have performed

:23:37. > :23:45.all over the place, what was the highlight. Britain's Got Talent and

:23:45. > :23:50.the opening of the Ryder Cup in Cardiff. At the Millennium Stadium.
