7:49:48 > 7:49:51but catapulted to stardom when she was crowned queen

7:49:51 > 7:49:54of the jungle in I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.

7:49:54 > 7:49:56With a wealth of TV appearances under her belt,

7:50:01 > 7:50:04Let's make some noise for Stacey, everybody.

7:50:04 > 7:50:06CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

7:50:13 > 7:50:17- Welcome to the show...- Thank you for having me.- ..for a second time.

7:50:17 > 7:50:20You helped with the bake-a-difference appeal.

7:50:20 > 7:50:23- Don't I just love baking(?) - It was sparkles and sprinkles.

7:50:23 > 7:50:27- Sparkles, sprinkles and eating. - This time it's different -

7:50:27 > 7:50:29second show and you are doing something different.

7:50:32 > 7:50:35- and that is your silver Blue Peter badge.- Wow!

7:50:35 > 7:50:38- Thank you so much.- It's a pleasure. - My mum will be jealous.

7:50:38 > 7:50:40It's all about making mums jealous.

7:50:40 > 7:50:43Your job is different today from baking cakes.

7:50:43 > 7:50:46- What are you looking forward to about the show?- Everything.

7:50:46 > 7:50:48I'm so glad to be here on the sofa.

7:50:48 > 7:50:50I'm so excited about meeting Sam and Mark

7:50:50 > 7:50:55and watching them progress and talking to everyone later.

7:50:55 > 7:50:58Last week we asked you to e-mail us with questions for Stacey

7:50:58 > 7:51:00and loads of you got in touch.

7:51:00 > 7:51:03A lucky few will speak to her live on the show later.

7:51:03 > 7:51:06How do you feel about that? Do you know a lot about Stacey Solomon?

7:51:06 > 7:51:10- Not up to scratch on my Stacey Solomon knowledge.- It'll come out.

7:51:10 > 7:51:12Before that, let's get you presenting.

7:51:12 > 7:51:16Everybody's been talking about the new series of Dancing On Ice

7:51:16 > 7:51:17and you might have seen poor Andy

7:51:17 > 7:51:20eliminated in the first week,

7:51:20 > 7:51:24but there are still two favourites left in the running, Sam and Mark.

7:51:24 > 7:51:28Sam surprised everyone with how well he skated,

7:51:28 > 7:51:32but it's Mark's turn to compete this Sunday and after Sam's triumph

7:51:32 > 7:51:34the pressure is really on,

7:51:34 > 7:51:37so as I know a thing or two about reality TV shows,

7:51:37 > 7:51:39I met Mark to share my secret to success.

7:51:42 > 7:51:46I absolutely love reality TV shows, especially the celebrity ones

7:51:46 > 7:51:49like Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing On Ice,

7:51:49 > 7:51:52but I know from experience that taking part in one

7:51:52 > 7:51:54is a little bit of an emotional roller coaster.

7:51:54 > 7:51:57If I've learnt anything from The X Factor

7:51:57 > 7:52:01or in the jungle, it's that it's not all about talent.

7:52:01 > 7:52:05The key is winning over the hearts of the British public.

7:52:08 > 7:52:13Celebrities like John Sergeant, Ann Widdecombe and Russell Grant

7:52:13 > 7:52:16were some of the worst dancers Strictly has ever seen.

7:52:16 > 7:52:20On The X Factor, Jedward's singing ability left a lot to be desired,

7:52:20 > 7:52:22but they all managed to survive

7:52:22 > 7:52:25because the voting public just couldn't get enough.

7:52:25 > 7:52:27If you've been watching Dancing On Ice

7:52:27 > 7:52:33you may have seen CBBC's Mark's rather shaky first performance.

7:52:33 > 7:52:37I've gone down to one of his skating sessions just to let him know

7:52:37 > 7:52:41he doesn't have to be the best to go a long way in the competition.

7:52:47 > 7:52:53- Hello. Come over.- Hello.- Hiya. I'm so impressed.- Thanks.

7:52:53 > 7:52:55What was that feeling like

7:52:55 > 7:52:58when you were backstage before the first performance?

7:52:58 > 7:53:00I was the most nervous I've ever been.

7:53:00 > 7:53:04My legs went, "I can't do this. I really cannot do this."

7:53:04 > 7:53:06- He had jelly legs.- Yeah.- Aw!

7:53:06 > 7:53:11The jelly legs weren't helped by the judges' cutting remarks.

7:53:11 > 7:53:15Mark, you have a winning smile and a winning partner,

7:53:15 > 7:53:18but choreographically it was Dad dancing.

7:53:18 > 7:53:23The judges were quite harsh. What did you think?

7:53:23 > 7:53:26I think personally for how the routine went,

7:53:26 > 7:53:29the judges' comments were fair.

7:53:29 > 7:53:34What does Sam think about Mark's performance in the competition

7:53:34 > 7:53:35so far?

7:53:35 > 7:53:38- SAM:- I think his strengths are definitely

7:53:38 > 7:53:42his show face, as in, he can sell the performance.

7:53:42 > 7:53:45His weaknesses are his skating!

7:53:47 > 7:53:50To have any chance of lasting in the competition,

7:53:50 > 7:53:53Mark needs a strategy that doesn't rely on skating,

7:53:53 > 7:53:57because, let's face it, he'll never be Christopher Dean.

7:53:57 > 7:54:00I've got two challenges that will show him how to use

7:54:00 > 7:54:02his best assets to win over the public

7:54:02 > 7:54:04and keep him in for as long as possible.

7:54:04 > 7:54:06How are you going to do it?

7:54:06 > 7:54:10- I have a little masterclass for you to try.- I'm up for that.

7:54:10 > 7:54:12- You're up for that.- Let's do it. - Let's go.

7:54:12 > 7:54:16'One of the keys to winning the audience's heart

7:54:16 > 7:54:20'is to keep smiling, no matter how bad the judges' comments get.'

7:54:20 > 7:54:23Mark, I know that one of your best qualities

7:54:23 > 7:54:27is your cheeky, chappie persona. Always happy, always smiling.

7:54:27 > 7:54:31- Yeah.- You need to keep that up. No matter how harsh the comments get.

7:54:31 > 7:54:34Your first challenge is to kick this ball

7:54:34 > 7:54:38into that goal ten times in 60 seconds.

7:54:38 > 7:54:43'To make it even more frustrating, I'm giving Mark a blindfold to wear.

7:54:43 > 7:54:46'No matter how flustered he gets,

7:54:46 > 7:54:50'Mark has to keep up his cheeky, chappie smile.'

7:54:50 > 7:54:51Right, go!

7:54:51 > 7:54:53MATCH OF THE DAY THEME PLAYS

7:54:53 > 7:54:55OK, it's coming back at you.

7:54:55 > 7:54:59Come on. Keep the smile.

7:54:59 > 7:55:00Oh, he misses!

7:55:00 > 7:55:03Mark is a cheeky chappie.

7:55:03 > 7:55:05He has the charm,

7:55:05 > 7:55:07but I'm pretty cheeky too.

7:55:07 > 7:55:08Look at my face.

7:55:08 > 7:55:10It's a lot rounder,

7:55:10 > 7:55:14which automatically makes me more cheekier.

7:55:14 > 7:55:17- Oh!- Have I got it?- It's far away from the post!- Oh!

7:55:17 > 7:55:19KLAXON BLARES

7:55:19 > 7:55:21'Poor performance on the field,

7:55:21 > 7:55:24'but a triumph for winning the hearts of the British public.'

7:55:24 > 7:55:27The smile was there throughout. That's all that matters.

7:55:27 > 7:55:29Challenge passed!

7:55:29 > 7:55:34I was going to suggest Mark works his Wolverhampton twang

7:55:34 > 7:55:35to win the votes...

7:55:35 > 7:55:39Really enjoyed that and I didn't drop you, darling, so that's good.

7:55:39 > 7:55:41..until I spoke to Sam.

7:55:41 > 7:55:43- IMITATES MARK: - How are you doing, mate?

7:55:43 > 7:55:46Doing a bit of skating for Dancing On Ice. All right, mate?

7:55:46 > 7:55:49'Yeah, maybe it's not so charming after all.

7:55:49 > 7:55:54'Cue, plan B. What better way to win the audience

7:55:54 > 7:55:57'than by making them fall in love with Mark's boyish good looks,

7:55:57 > 7:55:59'but on the slippery ice,

7:55:59 > 7:56:02'connecting with the camera is the last thing on his mind.

7:56:02 > 7:56:05'My second task is designed to help him love the lens,

7:56:05 > 7:56:07'even when concentrating on something else.'

7:56:07 > 7:56:10My challenge for you is the buzz-wire.

7:56:10 > 7:56:16Take the rod all the way around this assault course of electricity.

7:56:16 > 7:56:19And you've got to keep looking at your camera.

7:56:19 > 7:56:23Just a quick wink to any of them could really go down a long way.

7:56:25 > 7:56:26OK, all right.

7:56:26 > 7:56:28Don't forget - work it.

7:56:28 > 7:56:30Phew! OK.

7:56:30 > 7:56:32- Are you ready?- I'm ready.

7:56:32 > 7:56:34Three, two, one, go!

7:56:34 > 7:56:37MISSION IMPOSSIBLE THEME PLAYS

7:56:37 > 7:56:39Oh, good start.

7:56:39 > 7:56:41"Boyish good looks."

7:56:41 > 7:56:42Were those his words?

7:56:42 > 7:56:43He's, you know...

7:56:43 > 7:56:45I'm the younger one out of us both.

7:56:45 > 7:56:48I've got more of the boyish looks than him!

7:56:49 > 7:56:51Work it. Work it, Mark.

7:56:51 > 7:56:53KLAXON BLARES

7:56:53 > 7:56:54Three, two, one!

7:56:54 > 7:56:56Aggh! Oh!

7:56:56 > 7:56:58Just pull over here.

7:56:58 > 7:57:00But you did so well.

7:57:00 > 7:57:05'Impressive stuff, Mark. How could the audience resist that face?

7:57:05 > 7:57:08'My work here is done.'

7:57:08 > 7:57:10So, how do you feel? Mentally and physically prepared?

7:57:10 > 7:57:14- So prepared you can't believe it? - Yeah, I'm pretty confident.

7:57:14 > 7:57:19- You're a winner in my eyes. Fingers crossed. You can do it.- Bring it on.

7:57:19 > 7:57:24- He's such a nice lad. Got the smile. - He has.- I think he'll do well.

7:57:24 > 7:57:26What about the skating?

7:57:26 > 7:57:29I think that actually if he stays in, fingers crossed,

7:57:29 > 7:57:32week by week he'll get better and better.

7:57:32 > 7:57:35It makes good telly. It's all about the journey.

7:57:35 > 7:57:39Follow us, because there's one going on that is just incredible.

7:57:39 > 7:57:42Last week, after a bit of battling with technology,

7:57:42 > 7:57:45we managed to speak to Helen, who is 11,000 miles away

7:57:45 > 7:57:47in Antarctica attempting a world first.

7:57:47 > 7:57:49She's raising money for Sport Relief

7:57:49 > 7:57:53by travelling 500 miles to the South Pole by using kayak, ski and bike.

7:57:53 > 7:57:54It's amazing!

7:57:56 > 7:57:58- Look at that. It's incredible. - Oh, my gosh!

7:57:58 > 7:58:01Fingers crossed, we are hoping we can get her on a live link.

7:58:01 > 7:58:08- Let's find out how she is getting on.- Helen, are you there?

7:58:08 > 7:58:11- 'Yes. I'm here. I can hear.' - Fantastic!

7:58:11 > 7:58:14We didn't know whether you would be here. It's great news.

7:58:14 > 7:58:19There are hardly any satellites over the South Pole, so we're doing well.

7:58:19 > 7:58:22Helen, talk to us about your feet. What's going on?

7:58:22 > 7:58:25'Er, they're not in great condition.

7:58:25 > 7:58:30Obviously because we are trying to cover quite a few miles every day

7:58:30 > 7:58:32and some days we've been walking for 14 hours

7:58:32 > 7:58:35and I've got big, heavy boots on and skis,

7:58:35 > 7:58:38so I've got a few blisters, some big ones in-between my toes.

7:58:38 > 7:58:44The back of my heel's red, so I've been taking them off and hopefully

7:58:44 > 7:58:46they won't get any worse -

7:58:46 > 7:58:49they're not attractive but they won't get worse.

7:58:49 > 7:58:53It doesn't look like they can get any worse. They look really sore.

7:58:53 > 7:58:55How much further do you have on those feet?

7:58:55 > 7:59:03Well, we've done over 400 miles. We have about 75 to go.

7:59:03 > 7:59:07I'm very excited because we are not far from the 89th degree,

7:59:07 > 7:59:11which is the last degree on the map we have to travel.

7:59:11 > 7:59:14Once we go past that, we only have about 60 miles to go.

7:59:14 > 7:59:16That's quite a big moment for us.

7:59:16 > 7:59:19Helen, I've read that you've had problems with your hair.

7:59:19 > 7:59:24How are you coping, from one girl to another?

7:59:24 > 7:59:28You put a hat on, Stacey, and you don't take it off!

7:59:28 > 7:59:32It's like saying to me, "Can you take your hat off?"

7:59:32 > 7:59:34No!

7:59:34 > 7:59:38I haven't been able to have a shower or a wash since the 22nd December.

7:59:38 > 7:59:40Helen, we've got live pictures of you.

7:59:40 > 7:59:44We can see you with your big comfy coat and your weird hair.

7:59:44 > 7:59:47- I love the hair!- I don't want to sound like your dad,

7:59:47 > 7:59:50but are you drinking enough water?

7:59:50 > 7:59:53- You don't want to get dehydrated. - I haven't been.

7:59:53 > 7:59:57I've learnt that lesson the hard way. We had to cut yesterday short

7:59:57 > 8:00:00because I wasn't well, but from now on,

8:00:00 > 8:00:04I'll be drinking at least three litres of water a day.

8:00:04 > 8:00:08Everything gets so cold though, it just freezes in your bag!

8:00:08 > 8:00:11We've had loads of messages of good luck for you.

8:00:11 > 8:00:15Over 1,500 people have got in touch, GarnetSnowySquirrel says,

8:00:15 > 8:00:18"We believe in you, so believe in yourself."

8:00:18 > 8:00:22"You have what it takes. We're with you all the way."

8:00:22 > 8:00:24Ah! I've got one from JadeSummeryKid,

8:00:27 > 8:00:32"It's inspired me to raise money for Sport Relief by swimming a mile.

8:00:32 > 8:00:35"I can't believe you broke a world record - woohoo!"

8:00:35 > 8:00:36Helen, we've got to go.

8:00:36 > 8:00:40We don't have enough time, but you're doing an amazing job.

8:00:40 > 8:00:43Come back safe. It's so good to see your smiley face.

8:00:43 > 8:00:44We'll see you soon.

8:03:02 > 8:03:05Now you've finished, what have you been up to in Innsbruck?

8:03:05 > 8:03:09Just been watching the others and getting into the Team GB spirit

8:03:09 > 8:03:13and hanging out with everyone. It's been super fun.

8:03:13 > 8:03:17- What sports have you watched? - I really like all the ice sports.

8:03:17 > 8:03:20I'm in the mountains mostly, so it's nice to visit the ice rinks.

8:03:20 > 8:03:23I've been watching the curling and speed skating.

8:03:23 > 8:03:26I'm glad she mentioned speed skating.

8:03:26 > 8:03:30We've heard a lot about Katie, but we've also been following

8:03:30 > 8:03:34another athlete, the youngest member of Team GB.

8:03:37 > 8:03:40Short-track speed skating is a battle on ice

8:03:40 > 8:03:43over distances of 500 to 3,000 metres.

8:03:43 > 8:03:46It's an action-packed, adrenaline-fuelled sport

8:03:46 > 8:03:50that requires athletes to have an explosive start,

8:03:50 > 8:03:52a serious amount of strength

8:03:52 > 8:03:55and nerves as cool as the ice they're skating on.

8:04:01 > 8:04:04One young athlete who has been rocking the world of short-track

8:04:04 > 8:04:07is 14-year-old Jack Burrows.

8:04:07 > 8:04:10Jack's the reigning British champion for his age group

8:04:10 > 8:04:15and won the 1,000 metre race at the British Open Championships.

8:04:15 > 8:04:18It's thanks to these outstanding performances

8:04:18 > 8:04:21that he's been selected to skate for Team GB

8:04:21 > 8:04:24at the Winter Youth Olympic Games.

8:04:24 > 8:04:28I'm delighted to represent my country. It's an amazing feeling.

8:04:28 > 8:04:31I just love the sport so much. It gets your heart going.

8:04:31 > 8:04:34When I go to the line, I'm trembling, my feet are shaking.

8:04:34 > 8:04:36Everything rushes out of my mind

8:04:36 > 8:04:39and when that pistol goes off, I'm gone

8:04:39 > 8:04:41and I'm racing for that first corner.

8:04:43 > 8:04:46At 14, Jack will be one of the youngest competitors

8:04:46 > 8:04:47at the Youth Olympics,

8:04:47 > 8:04:52but that doesn't make him any less dedicated to his training.

8:04:52 > 8:04:57I have about four on-ice sessions during the week. Mainly late night.

8:04:59 > 8:05:03The effort Jack puts into his training and his life

8:05:03 > 8:05:05is more than people expect.

8:05:05 > 8:05:07It does take over your life.

8:05:07 > 8:05:10But it's not just technique on the ice

8:05:10 > 8:05:12Jack needs to work on.

8:05:12 > 8:05:15He has to be super-fit to compete at the top level,

8:05:15 > 8:05:19and that means utilising any training space he can find.

8:05:19 > 8:05:21'I can definitely tell in a competition

8:05:21 > 8:05:25'when I've done a lot of quality stair work and it pays off.'

8:05:25 > 8:05:28It's one of the harder aspects of training.

8:05:28 > 8:05:31You're going up such an incline.

8:05:31 > 8:05:35One part of off-ice training combines strength and skating.

8:05:35 > 8:05:37There, that's it.

8:05:37 > 8:05:40We need to focus on your weight transfer.

8:05:41 > 8:05:44Good. Keep that weight on the balls of your feet

8:05:44 > 8:05:46as you're pushing through the left foot.

8:05:46 > 8:05:48And finish. Well done.

8:05:48 > 8:05:52Jack's fitness regime is undoubtedly gruelling,

8:05:52 > 8:05:57but all his hard work has been worth it to secure his place at the Games.

8:06:01 > 8:06:05Team GB are here at the airport. I've waited ages for this moment.

8:06:05 > 8:06:08We're all buzzing. It will be an atmosphere

8:06:08 > 8:06:10no-one has experienced before.

8:06:13 > 8:06:16After a short hop to Austria,

8:06:16 > 8:06:18it's not long before Jack grabs the opportunity

8:06:18 > 8:06:21to train alongside some of the other young Olympians.

8:06:24 > 8:06:27Skating with world-class athletes is just amazing.

8:06:27 > 8:06:30We're sharing tips and skating around together.

8:06:30 > 8:06:33We're learning from each other. It's another motivation.

8:06:33 > 8:06:37You want to beat the guys and do well, so it's a good insight.

8:06:38 > 8:06:42But being at the Games isn't all about competing.

8:06:42 > 8:06:47In his down time, Jack hangs out with other members of Team GB.

8:06:47 > 8:06:50So this is our apartment. Let's see what's going on.

8:06:50 > 8:06:53We've got us two short-track speed skaters.

8:06:53 > 8:06:55We're both very competitive,

8:06:55 > 8:06:59but at the end of the day, we come back in here and have a laugh.

8:06:59 > 8:07:01It's nice not having parents tell you,

8:07:01 > 8:07:03"Do your room, do this, do that."

8:07:03 > 8:07:05There's even a bit of rivalry

8:07:05 > 8:07:08from the other young athletes from around the world.

8:07:08 > 8:07:11We skate with a few of the Italians and shout across balconies

8:07:11 > 8:07:16and chants at each other. We destroyed their snowman,

8:07:16 > 8:07:18they destroyed ours.

8:07:18 > 8:07:20In spite of cruel attacks on innocent snowmen,

8:07:20 > 8:07:23when the lights come up on the opening ceremony

8:07:23 > 8:07:27for the first ever Winter Youth Olympic Games,

8:07:27 > 8:07:31all the athletes unite to celebrate this momentous occasion.

8:07:40 > 8:07:42Words can't describe how good this is.

8:07:42 > 8:07:45Walking out that tunnel was the best thing ever.

8:07:46 > 8:07:51Lighting the flame up, it has brought a tear to my eyes,

8:07:51 > 8:07:54thinking "Wow, I'm actually here and doing it."

8:07:59 > 8:08:02Jack's here with me now, the very tall Jack.

8:08:02 > 8:08:06Your main race was the 1,000 metres yesterday. You got a personal best.

8:08:06 > 8:08:10Yes, I did. I managed to get seventh overall.

8:08:10 > 8:08:13I've been skating the fastest I've ever skated before.
