:02:35. > :02:41.moment, sit back and remind ourselves how this magic began.

:02:41. > :02:44.First game the book, seven instalment of Harry Potter

:02:44. > :02:49.adventures selling 450 million copies worldwide. Making them the

:02:49. > :02:53.best selling book series in history. Welcome to Hogwarts. Then came the

:02:53. > :02:58.eight movies costing nearly 1 billion to make but taking more

:02:59. > :03:04.than 4 billion in ticket sales alone. Making it far and away the

:03:04. > :03:07.most successful film series ever. Wicked. But with no more Harry

:03:07. > :03:11.Potter adventures to film, Warner broes had a tough decision to make.

:03:11. > :03:14.What do do with the sets and props at Leavesden Studios in north

:03:14. > :03:19.London where the movies were made. For years fans have been desperate

:03:19. > :03:23.to get in and see them and it seemed a shame to get rid of them.

:03:23. > :03:28.The answer is the brand-new Making of Harry Potter Studio Tour. We

:03:28. > :03:32.have an exclusive backstage pass for your today. So, here we are in

:03:33. > :03:38.the Great Hall. The first set to be built and the only set to star in

:03:38. > :03:44.all of the movies. If I take a seat here, that is glorious, feel the

:03:44. > :03:48.power of dumble doer. I love this room. -- Dumbledore. This is based

:03:48. > :03:52.on the throne in Westminster Abbey where Kate and Wills got married

:03:52. > :03:57.last year. This is made to look at realistic as possible. The tables

:03:57. > :04:01.and chairs were sprayed with fake dust. They were hit with chains and

:04:01. > :04:04.axes to look authentic and the children were encouraged to calf

:04:04. > :04:09.their initials into the woodwork to leave their mark. This H wasn't

:04:09. > :04:13.done by me, but I wonder who it could have been by? This is the

:04:13. > :04:21.place where all the big feasts happened, so to find out what goes

:04:21. > :04:27.into a magical feast we enlisted the help of Stefan Gates. How do

:04:27. > :04:32.you make food that conjures up this kind of reaction? Awesome. My mouth

:04:32. > :04:36.is watering. The secret? A magical themed feast, for you to serve up

:04:36. > :04:41.to your friends and family, that will blow their minds. On my

:04:41. > :04:45.magical menu today, the main course, sparkling sausage, purple mash with

:04:45. > :04:50.egg suprise washed down with chameleon juice and glowing jelly

:04:50. > :04:54.for dessert. I am starting with a purple mar. Use these pot toe, they

:04:54. > :04:58.rabbit darker than your average potato, they are grown in Scotland

:04:58. > :05:03.and they are called purple Majesty. Put them in water and pop them on

:05:03. > :05:09.to boil for 15 minutes. Normally to make mash you would add milk and

:05:09. > :05:13.butter but I am squeezing them through this ricer. Now for the

:05:14. > :05:20.sausages, they don't look pretty so I need to transform them using

:05:20. > :05:24.something special. This is the most expensive ingredient on earth. Pure

:05:24. > :05:28.gold leaf. Wrap the sausage in the gold leaf. You can buy this from

:05:29. > :05:32.art shops and it costs about 70 pence a leaf. Place the sausage

:05:32. > :05:40.carefully in the mash. It is very flimsy so paste the ends down with

:05:40. > :05:45.a brush. Next up, our egg suprise. Two egg, any normal eggs and cover

:05:45. > :05:52.them in vinegar. This is science, not magic. The acid dissolves the

:05:52. > :05:56.shell, after three days you can bounce it. It is a raw egg where no

:05:56. > :06:02.shell. But the fact it bounces isn't the suprise, you will see

:06:02. > :06:08.that later. Now it is time to make a magical drink, this is called

:06:08. > :06:15.chameleon juice. It changes colour. Take one chopped red cabbage, add

:06:15. > :06:20.water and give it a whizz. It will taste nicer than it looks. So now

:06:20. > :06:24.we have a bowl of lovely stinky cabbage water. Squeeze out the

:06:24. > :06:29.liquid and use freshwater to top up the glass, now add a touch of

:06:29. > :06:35.sugary water, to make it taste extra special. There is the

:06:35. > :06:40.chameleon juice, doesn't look that wild yet. The magic happens when

:06:40. > :06:45.you add lemon juice, to see that you will have to wait. Time for a

:06:45. > :06:51.magical dessert. Glowing jelly. Begin with some leaf gelatine. It

:06:51. > :06:55.is unusual but you can buy it at most supermarkets. Add the magic

:06:56. > :07:01.ingredient. Tonic water. Enough so it covers the gelatine. Leave it to

:07:01. > :07:07.soak and warm ut through in a microwave then add the rest of the

:07:07. > :07:11.tonic water. Now, I am going to fill the glass. Then you need to

:07:11. > :07:15.put them in the fridge for two hours to set before serving.

:07:15. > :07:21.Doesn't look very exciting yet. That is because the magic happens

:07:21. > :07:27.when it gets dark. I have my magical feast laid out. Now all I

:07:27. > :07:35.need are taste testers. You will do. Now are you feeling adventurous?

:07:35. > :07:40.Yes. OK. These are 24 carat gold sausages. Can anyone taste gold in

:07:40. > :07:46.there? No. A little bit. Now egg suprise, they don't look that

:07:46. > :07:50.impressed until I shed some light on them. Just to prove do you this

:07:50. > :07:57.is a real egg... These are just for fun, if you haven't cooked them,

:07:57. > :08:02.don't eat them. Guys, are you thistty? Time for my chameleon

:08:02. > :08:09.juice. What colour is it? Blue. Drop your lemon juice in what

:08:09. > :08:15.colour is it now? Pink. The colour in the cabbage acts as a PH

:08:15. > :08:20.indicator which means the lemon makes it more acidic. Verdict?

:08:20. > :08:25.have never tasted anything like it. Is that good or bad? Now for the

:08:25. > :08:30.finale, magic jelly. That is sick. The bitter quinine absorbs the

:08:30. > :08:33.light and radiates it as a different wave length causing the

:08:34. > :08:38.jelly to appear luminous. They fizzle as well and you can taste

:08:38. > :08:43.the fizz and see the bubbles. like grapefruit. It has that

:08:43. > :08:47.flavour doesn't it. What do you think of magical food? Awesome.

:08:48. > :08:55.best is magical washing up. Watch this. One, two, three... Shall we

:08:55. > :08:59.go and do the washing up. Yeah. We have now come to Dumbledore's

:08:59. > :09:03.office, the reason we are looking sheepish is because we shouldn't be

:09:03. > :09:07.up here b but today we have been given behind the scenes exclusive

:09:07. > :09:11.access so we can show you the secrets. Let us look round. The

:09:11. > :09:14.office wasn't in the first film, it was built for the chamber of

:09:15. > :09:19.secrets and it has been in every film since. This is where Harry

:09:19. > :09:22.learned to defend himself and if you look up here, we have the

:09:22. > :09:28.famous sorting hat. Not only does the hat talk, which is brilliant,

:09:28. > :09:32.it also chooses the house of every Hogwarts pupil. While we are

:09:32. > :09:37.talking about famous things let us head down here to the pensieve.

:09:37. > :09:43.This is an enchanted basin. You can see your memories in it. Not just

:09:43. > :09:48.your, other peoples. You can sedumle dor and Harry using it here.

:09:48. > :09:58.They looked into the memories of a particular person. Do you remember

:09:58. > :09:59.

:09:59. > :10:03.It was Tom Riddle. By looking into his memories they found out he

:10:03. > :10:08.became Voldemort. As well as plenty of magic, there are a few creepy

:10:08. > :10:12.characters haunting the corridors of Hogwarts. I am talking about

:10:12. > :10:22.Nearly Headless Nick and Moaning Myrtle, but do guests exist? We

:10:22. > :10:27.spent a night in a creepy castle investigating. This is Muncaster

:10:27. > :10:33.castle. By day it is beautiful. But when night falls, things get a

:10:33. > :10:38.whole lot scarier. If you believe in ghosts, this is the place for

:10:38. > :10:41.you, because apparently, it is said to be the Most Haunted place in

:10:41. > :10:45.Britain. So of course we are going to spend the night here. Many

:10:46. > :10:50.visitors have reported strange feelings, odd noises, and even

:10:50. > :10:54.ghost sightings. In fact, there have been so many events here that

:10:54. > :10:59.research has been carried out op the castle to find out whether

:10:59. > :11:06.there is a scientific explanation for all the strange goings on.

:11:06. > :11:11.have come to spend the night to see if it is as haunted as some

:11:11. > :11:17.believe.. Come on There is a scary guy looking at it. That is Peter,

:11:18. > :11:23.he is going to show us round. know! Hi, welcome to my family home.

:11:23. > :11:29.Before Peter takes us round the castle, we put on heart monitors.

:11:29. > :11:33.normal heart rate is round 60 -- 60-90 beats a minute. When you are

:11:33. > :11:39.scared your heart rate rises so they will give an accurate reading

:11:39. > :11:44.as to how speaked -- spooked we are. Here we are. This is the medieval

:11:44. > :11:49.Great Hall. As you can see the ancestors are watching us as we

:11:49. > :11:54.walk through the room. This is the darkest staircase I have ever

:11:54. > :12:00.walked up. Going up to great- grandfather here. This is a spooky

:12:00. > :12:05.corridor, because figures have been seen here. Just make sure there is

:12:05. > :12:08.no-one behind that. That is a wall, that is good. It It is full of

:12:08. > :12:18.portraits and scientists believe this is what gives the visitor the

:12:18. > :12:22.

:12:22. > :12:27.feeling they are being watched. Argh. Good evening. Seriously dude!

:12:27. > :12:34.It is only a mannequin triggered by movement. My monitor is going like

:12:34. > :12:39.the clappers right now. Come along here and meet Tom. This is Tom Fool.

:12:40. > :12:45.He certainly haunts the castle. So he is one you have to watch out for.

:12:45. > :12:49.Tom Fool lived in the kas in the 16th century. Over dinner Peter

:12:49. > :12:53.explains Tom's gruesome history. was the jester, he was meant to

:12:53. > :12:59.entertain people, if he didn't like you you were in serious trouble. He

:12:59. > :13:04.murdered a carpenter in the castle. His surname is skeleton and this

:13:05. > :13:08.being Cumbria, you know, there is a chance that I am related. Your

:13:08. > :13:13.great, great, great grandad is a murderer and haunts this place.

:13:13. > :13:19.There is a chance. I am going to take pictures while you two stay

:13:19. > :13:22.here. We can catch up on family history. I am not going to take

:13:22. > :13:28.photographs. Earlier on Peter showed me a couple of places where

:13:28. > :13:32.I could lay pranks to scare Helen. Trick one is in the bedroom where

:13:32. > :13:39.we will be sleeping. There is a trap door operated by a switch.

:13:39. > :13:45.Inside I am going to put a big melon or fruit so when I press the

:13:45. > :13:49.button it drops out and scares hell eleven. Aren't I a good friend?

:13:49. > :13:52.Trick two will happen at the end of this scary corridor, you see that

:13:52. > :13:58.door that is open. You notice it has glass panels which means you

:13:58. > :14:03.can see through it. There this is where we go to the oldest scary

:14:03. > :14:07.movie trick from the week. I give you one head and a bit of string.

:14:07. > :14:09.We are going to shine a light on the this which will reflect on the

:14:10. > :14:13.a glass panel that is set behind this door, so to anyone looking

:14:13. > :14:23.down the corridor and through the door, all they will see is a scary

:14:23. > :14:24.

:14:24. > :14:31.With Helen none the wiser I rejoin just in time for bed. Nice bed.

:14:31. > :14:35.This is the haunted, or allegedly haunted, tapestry room. Why is it

:14:35. > :14:39.allegedly haunted? What has been seen in here? The most common story

:14:39. > :14:44.in here is of a crying child. We used to use this room for our

:14:44. > :14:48.friends to stay in and we had to stop, because they complained of

:14:48. > :14:54.hearing a child crying. If the noise of a child wakes me up while

:14:54. > :14:59.I'm sleeping, I'm out of here. are pretty brave. I've lived here a

:14:59. > :15:04.long time and I've never been brave enough to sleep in the radio. You

:15:04. > :15:09.are brave enough. If you need anything, give me a shout from afar.

:15:09. > :15:14.Goodnight Peter. I will feel a whole lot better when I've got my

:15:14. > :15:17.pyjamas on. I will read you a bed sometime story. Over 30% of people

:15:17. > :15:22.who stay in the room report strange appearances, like the bedroom door

:15:22. > :15:29.opening and closing of its own accord. Scientific researchers put

:15:29. > :15:34.this down to a draft from the fire phrase. But first a scary story to

:15:34. > :15:40.get her heart rate pumping. She gave a little laugh and looked away,

:15:40. > :15:47.as if she were aware to that to a stranger... If someone is playing a

:15:47. > :15:53.joke, stop it. What are you talking about? Whatever is blowing air on

:15:53. > :16:03.me is what I'm talking about. are you getting air from? Here.

:16:03. > :16:06.

:16:06. > :16:11.That's a chimney there, is bound to be a draft, you daft banana. Did

:16:11. > :16:16.you know about that! Did you know about that? Yes, I pressed the

:16:16. > :16:24.button. Anyway, back to the story. I cannot believe Barney tricked me.

:16:24. > :16:30.I will never live this down. I dare you to go down the stairs to the

:16:30. > :16:35.Great Hall, go back to where we had dinner, and go and get something

:16:35. > :16:40.off the table. To the dining room to get something off the table?

:16:40. > :16:48.I may sound like I'm being brave but this is a very dark castle. I'm

:16:48. > :16:54.not entirely sure where the dining room is. I think it is this way.

:16:54. > :17:02.I'm in here on my own. I did not think this dare through.

:17:02. > :17:10.See how dark it is. Really dark. DOOR CREEKS

:17:10. > :17:17.No way! Man! Did you see that that door

:17:17. > :17:27.started to shut on its own. Fork, knife, what else can I get? What is

:17:27. > :17:30.

:17:30. > :17:37.that? A little flower. Girls like flowers don't they. You've got

:17:37. > :17:41.something. What have you got? knife, a fork and a flower. Those

:17:41. > :17:47.are in you want to eat soon during the night. I passed my dare

:17:47. > :17:52.successfully. I think the time has come to get Helen down that spooky

:17:52. > :17:56.hallway where my second prank waits. You know the hallway, your

:17:56. > :18:01.challenge is to get the man's hat and bring it back. Bear in mind

:18:01. > :18:11.that's the darkest corridor in the castle no. Lights, push black.

:18:11. > :18:14.

:18:14. > :18:20.It's really dark. Why is it so dark? Where has the

:18:20. > :18:28.man gone. The man's gone. OK, that's really freaky. I'm done. The

:18:28. > :18:34.man's gone! The man's gone! He's gone! Barney, the dummy's gone.

:18:34. > :18:40.What do you mean it's gone? dummy's gone! It looks like I'm

:18:40. > :18:49.going to have to lead her to the floating head myself.

:18:49. > :18:59.What's that? There is something at the end. What is it? There is

:18:59. > :19:04.

:19:04. > :19:08.something flickering at the end. With all our focus on the floating

:19:08. > :19:14.head, I had forgot than the mannequin makes a noise when you

:19:14. > :19:19.get near it. That's the first time that Barney has screamed. OK! In

:19:19. > :19:26.the end I was scared by my own prafpblgt after coming clean about

:19:26. > :19:30.-- prank. After coming clean about my trickery we settled down for the

:19:30. > :19:34.night. That night Muncaster's ghosts left us alone. I was so

:19:34. > :19:40.tired out by Barney's pranks I could probably have slept through

:19:40. > :19:44.anything. A tiny bit of me feels mean that I

:19:44. > :19:50.slept in a bed while you slept on the floor. However, you were a bit

:19:50. > :19:55.mean last night. You little joker. That was so funny, that melon in

:19:55. > :19:59.the fire place did make you jump. screamed blue burieder. I am

:19:59. > :20:06.disappointed that I didn't see a real ghost. It doesn't mean they

:20:06. > :20:10.weren't there. They could have been watching us. The scary thing is

:20:10. > :20:16.over. Barney pretended he wasn't scared but his heart rate was

:20:16. > :20:21.through the roof. Right, JLS are with us!

:20:21. > :20:28.CHEERING We've got... We need to get stuck into the questions,

:20:28. > :20:35.because you've guys have been sending if questions. What is the

:20:35. > :20:41.weersd thing you've ever eaten? weirdest thing is probably cow's

:20:41. > :20:48.foot. Where? At somebody's barbecue. Oh, my word. I hope you didn't go

:20:48. > :20:53.to their house again. Stick to a burger. JB, who is your biggest

:20:53. > :20:57.role model? My biggest musical role model is probably Michael Jackson.

:20:57. > :21:04.Good events. Marvin, Ryan it wouldn't know where and when did

:21:04. > :21:07.you start singing? First place I sung was at my little brother's

:21:07. > :21:15.christening when I was seven. the rest, as they say, is history.

:21:15. > :21:20.This one is from for Aston. What are you scared of? Dogs. We knew

:21:20. > :21:28.that. Sorry to out you here. The last time he came in here he was

:21:28. > :21:35.scared of Barney the dog. Yes. is to all of you. Who is if mum of

:21:35. > :21:40.the group? Marvin. Mum? You look a bit like a mum. You do. They mean

:21:40. > :21:45.it in a nice way. You worry to much. Watch out Orly put a spell on you.

:21:45. > :21:52.You are going to be running the Sport Relief Mile, so good luck

:21:52. > :21:56.with that. If you want all the gossip, tune into BBC at 5 past 3.

:21:56. > :22:05.Before you sing, give them a cheer...

:22:05. > :22:10.CHEERING $$TRANSMIT. They are sing their Sport Relief single... But

:22:10. > :22:15.where is Barney? This may be a quieter part of the tour but this

:22:15. > :22:23.is the creature work shop. I would like to introduce you to Nick

:22:23. > :22:28.Dudman, the effects designer on Harry Potter. Hi Barney.? These are

:22:28. > :22:35.your babies. Let's talk about the mandrakes. We use artwork to start

:22:35. > :22:40.the idea and then it is sculpted with plst sin and we mould that and

:22:40. > :22:45.produce soft versions in rubber or silicone and put motors inside to

:22:45. > :22:50.make them move. If you have seen the movies you will know this, but
