7:02:05 > 7:02:08But to earn a Blue Peter sport badge, you need

7:02:08 > 7:02:10an extra ingredient.

7:02:10 > 7:02:12Something a bit special.

7:02:12 > 7:02:15You need to be inspirational.

7:02:17 > 7:02:20But how can the Blue Peter sport badge get more epic than that?

7:02:20 > 7:02:24Well, how about a sports match made in heaven?

7:02:24 > 7:02:28Blue Peter sport badge, meet the Olympics!

7:02:28 > 7:02:32We've teamed up with Team GB for a brand-new Blue Peter competition.

7:02:32 > 7:02:33Here's Olympic medallist

7:02:33 > 7:02:37and superstar Team GB gymnast Beth Tweddle to tell you more.

7:02:37 > 7:02:40Team GB are the amazing athletes who are going to be competing for us

7:02:40 > 7:02:43this summer in Brazil at the Olympic Games.

7:02:43 > 7:02:44Together with Team GB,

7:02:44 > 7:02:48we're making this year's sport badge extra special.

7:02:48 > 7:02:50This one is going to be different.

7:02:50 > 7:02:53- This one is going to be designed by one of you.- That's right.

7:02:53 > 7:02:56Your design on one of these!

7:02:56 > 7:02:58This is huge news!

7:02:58 > 7:03:01Plus, there's more. Tell them, Beth.

7:03:01 > 7:03:05Not only will your design become the Blue Peter sport badge given

7:03:05 > 7:03:09to thousands of Blue Peter sporting fans, but it's also going to be

7:03:09 > 7:03:13given to every Team GB athlete that is heading out to Rio this summer.

7:03:13 > 7:03:15That is world-class sports stars competing for Team GB

7:03:15 > 7:03:19in the summer's Olympic Games wearing something that you created.

7:03:19 > 7:03:22Told you it was big news, and it doesn't end there.

7:03:22 > 7:03:25We also want you to write an inspirational message

7:03:25 > 7:03:29to our Team GB athletes. Let's get them motivated.

7:03:29 > 7:03:33Oh, and this will be used in a very cool way.

7:03:33 > 7:03:35Trust me.

7:03:35 > 7:03:40So, we want you to design this year's Team GB Blue Peter

7:03:40 > 7:03:41sport badge.

7:03:41 > 7:03:45Then write an inspirational message of no more than 118 characters,

7:03:45 > 7:03:47including spaces.

7:03:47 > 7:03:50And tell us which Team GB athlete inspires you.

7:03:50 > 7:03:53All the details are on the Blue Peter website.

7:03:56 > 7:03:57Get designing.

7:03:57 > 7:03:59CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

7:03:59 > 7:04:02- There it is, the happy dance. - It is the extra happy dance.

7:04:02 > 7:04:03Beth Tweddle was showing off there,

7:04:03 > 7:04:06that was the best way to finish the film ever. Thank you, Beth.

7:04:06 > 7:04:09If you are like me, you're thinking, how do I apply for this competition?

7:04:09 > 7:04:10Well, the answer is very easy.

7:04:10 > 7:04:13Simply print out one of these bad boys, you can

7:04:13 > 7:04:15get them on the Blue Peter website.

7:04:15 > 7:04:18Then here comes the thing I think is the most important part.

7:04:18 > 7:04:21This is the shield, which I'm going to call the shield of destiny.

7:04:21 > 7:04:25You draw your design in there. You explain your design.

7:04:25 > 7:04:28It's not officially called that, but it is my nickname for it, OK?

7:04:28 > 7:04:30Then you include your inspirational message,

7:04:30 > 7:04:35and tell us which Team GB athlete inspires you at home. Oh, yes.

7:04:35 > 7:04:37There are three very important things you have to think about

7:04:37 > 7:04:39when designing your sport badge.

7:04:39 > 7:04:41It is so important, I got a separate shot on camera two.

7:04:41 > 7:04:43Hello, how are you doing?

7:04:43 > 7:04:45So, these are the previous sport badges, aren't they?

7:04:45 > 7:04:48- Don't worry about these, your design has to be unique...- Hold it up.

7:04:48 > 7:04:50Oh, sorry. I keep forgetting it is down there.

7:04:50 > 7:04:52It has to be unique, imaginative,

7:04:52 > 7:04:54and it has to be something that is eye-catching.

7:04:54 > 7:04:57It has to celebrate sport, and it has to celebrate Team GB.

7:04:57 > 7:05:00I've done those the wrong way round. I know I'm saying these

7:05:00 > 7:05:02are the most important things you need to remember.

7:05:02 > 7:05:03You're over-excited.

7:05:03 > 7:05:05The first one is, it has to celebrate sport and Team GB.

7:05:05 > 7:05:08The second one is, it has to be eye-catching, imaginative,

7:05:08 > 7:05:11and it has to stand out. These are the original designs.

7:05:11 > 7:05:15Don't worry about these, it is your chance to the original. Thirdly...

7:05:15 > 7:05:18Thirdly, you can't use anything that's gone before, so you can't

7:05:18 > 7:05:22use the logo for Rio 2016, you can't use the Olympic or Paralympic name.

7:05:22 > 7:05:24And you can't use the Olympic rings or the mascots.

7:05:24 > 7:05:26It has fallen off, it has gone so well.

7:05:26 > 7:05:27This is a live show, everybody.

7:05:27 > 7:05:29Pick the badge up, and I'll do the next bit.

7:05:29 > 7:05:32Remember, if you apply, your design is actually going to be

7:05:32 > 7:05:35used as the next Blue Peter sport badge. That is awesome

7:05:35 > 7:05:38because it is going to be given out to all of the athletes in Rio.

7:05:38 > 7:05:41They are going to be wearing your design. That's awesome.

7:05:41 > 7:05:44And you're even going to get to meet some of the athletes,

7:05:44 > 7:05:46and any Blue Peter viewers who get a sport badge,

7:05:46 > 7:05:49they're going to just be walking around town wearing your design.

7:05:49 > 7:05:50It is the coolest thing.

7:05:50 > 7:05:53- I love it.- This is my favourite Blue Peter competition of all time.

7:05:53 > 7:05:55It is the best thing, it is amazing.

7:05:55 > 7:05:57I remember watching Blue Peter. I'd think,

7:05:57 > 7:05:59"Where do they keep all the badges?" Well, here is the answer.

7:05:59 > 7:06:01On one of these fantastic blue things.

7:06:01 > 7:06:04If you count all these up, you will count 30 orange badges.

7:06:04 > 7:06:06One of the rarest, actually, of all the badges. Why do we have 30?

7:06:06 > 7:06:09That's because if you come inside the top 30 of this

7:06:09 > 7:06:11competition, you get one.

7:06:11 > 7:06:13And if you come second or third, it's not all about winning,

7:06:13 > 7:06:16you get yourself a framed design. Does it get any better than that?

7:06:16 > 7:06:19- The answer is no.- It doesn't.- So you know everything you need to know.

7:06:19 > 7:06:23Where do you send your entry forms to? Here's the address.

7:06:23 > 7:06:24It is...

7:06:28 > 7:06:30..M50 2BH. Stands for Barney Harwood.

7:06:30 > 7:06:33No, it doesn't. It doesn't stand for that. Now, remember,

7:06:33 > 7:06:36you need to send those in to us by 12 noon,

7:06:36 > 7:06:38Tuesday the 23rd of February.

7:06:38 > 7:06:41- We are all a bit giddy because we are excited.- I'm excited!

7:06:41 > 7:06:44And you need to be aged between six and 15, OK,

7:06:44 > 7:06:46on Tuesday the 23rd of February.

7:06:46 > 7:06:48That's really, really important if you want to apply.

7:06:48 > 7:06:51All the terms and conditions that you need are on the Blue Peter

7:06:51 > 7:06:54website, which is right here, so what are you waiting for?

7:06:54 > 7:06:57- Get involved, it's a good thing to do.- Let's walk!

7:06:57 > 7:06:58I know you want to walk.

7:06:58 > 7:07:01Because it is not just competition entries that we love

7:07:01 > 7:07:03getting from you, it is also brilliant post.

7:07:03 > 7:07:06And since our Letters Song, look at the badge wall.

7:07:06 > 7:07:09Barney is peeking behind it. It is covered in all your brilliant post.

7:07:09 > 7:07:10This is amazing.

7:07:10 > 7:07:14Zara, who's 13, has sent in these clay models of us,

7:07:14 > 7:07:16mine is pretty much life-size, doing The Letters Song.

7:07:16 > 7:07:19She has even done the laminate flooring that we were on on the day.

7:07:19 > 7:07:21Radzi has got a little keyboard there.

7:07:21 > 7:07:23Barney has got his microphone as he's doing his solo,

7:07:23 > 7:07:26and I am playing my sax. That is brilliant.

7:07:26 > 7:07:29- Zara, you are a legend. Thank you.- Dylan, from Hertfordshire,

7:07:29 > 7:07:32is it possible to make a tiger which moves its tail? Oh, yes, it is.

7:07:32 > 7:07:34You've proven it, my friend. Look at that there.

7:07:34 > 7:07:36What a fantastic drawing you've made.

7:07:36 > 7:07:38- The legs move as well, it's amazing.- Lovely, Dylan.

7:07:38 > 7:07:39Thanks very much, sir.

7:07:39 > 7:07:42Speaking of tigers, I'm going to bring this out,

7:07:42 > 7:07:44because you may remember my very cute tiger cub film.

7:07:44 > 7:07:47And if you've been online, you will have seen me do this.

7:07:47 > 7:07:50Feed the meat to the little baby tigers like that.

7:07:50 > 7:07:52And Annabel from London sent this in.

7:07:52 > 7:07:54There you can see Mum just helping the little ones out.

7:07:54 > 7:07:57- Thank you so much for that, Annabel, it's amazing.- Very quickly,

7:07:57 > 7:08:00Chloe from Cheltenham, thank you for sending this in.

7:08:00 > 7:08:01This is your silver badge chance,

7:08:01 > 7:08:04and you've got it for making 3-D Iggy and Shelley. Thank you so much.

7:08:04 > 7:08:06Now, what I would also say to each and everyone of you.

7:08:06 > 7:08:09If you want to get a Blue Peter badge on your post,

7:08:09 > 7:08:10you must include some things.

7:08:10 > 7:08:12Your age, your address and date of birth,

7:08:12 > 7:08:15because we want to be able to send you the badges that you so

7:08:15 > 7:08:17- deserve, my friends.- That's right. - BELL RINGS

7:08:17 > 7:08:21That noise, there it is, means there is now 12 minutes to go

7:08:21 > 7:08:26until we reveal my launch of my new thing. And it is very exciting.

7:08:26 > 7:08:29- I'm going to tell them what it is now.- No, no, don't. 12 more minutes.

7:08:29 > 7:08:32You're not allowed to. Listen, let's move this on quickly.

7:08:32 > 7:08:34From your masterpieces on the Blue Peter Big Badge Wall

7:08:34 > 7:08:36to some other masterpieces you are about to see.

7:08:36 > 7:08:39And for this, you will need to follow me over here. Are you coming?

7:08:41 > 7:08:44OK, so it's Shrove Tuesday next week,

7:08:44 > 7:08:47which means I'm not letting anyone get by without a pancake

7:08:47 > 7:08:50challenge, and that's specifically aimed at these two over here.

7:08:50 > 7:08:53So, Lindsey and Radzi, you are going to be doing the following.

7:08:53 > 7:08:55Making pancakes with a Blue Peter theme.

7:08:55 > 7:08:56You can choose whichever theme you like.

7:08:56 > 7:08:58If you want to make Shelley, go ahead.

7:08:58 > 7:09:02If you want to make an Iggy, you can do that, or maybe Hacker T.

7:09:02 > 7:09:04He may not be on the show, but he is quite often, and we love him for it.

7:09:04 > 7:09:06So, how to make pancakes is very simple.

7:09:06 > 7:09:09These are the ingredients you're going to need.

7:09:15 > 7:09:17I don't know why I said "milk" like that, it just made me smile.

7:09:17 > 7:09:20OK, so, first things first. Flour into the bowl.

7:09:20 > 7:09:23And you want to make what is called a well with your finger.

7:09:23 > 7:09:27Your clean finger, please. Don't put it up your nose first.

7:09:27 > 7:09:30Right into the middle, and just do a little spirally thing like that.

7:09:30 > 7:09:32And then what you want to do is

7:09:32 > 7:09:36crack your eggs into the middle of that. Very simply. There is one.

7:09:36 > 7:09:39Try not to get too much shell in, that's me trying to be flash.

7:09:39 > 7:09:41One more.

7:09:41 > 7:09:43- Ooh!- And then what you want to do... Thank you, Lindsey.

7:09:43 > 7:09:45..is poor your milk in from the side.

7:09:45 > 7:09:48I'm going to do this left-handed and whisk with the right hand.

7:09:48 > 7:09:50And pour it in gradually whilst you mix the mixture.

7:09:50 > 7:09:52The reason you're doing it gradually is

7:09:52 > 7:09:56because if you don't, it will just make a big pancake battery ball.

7:09:56 > 7:10:00And once that is mixed all together, you want to dip it into

7:10:00 > 7:10:02the other bowl, which I have down here,

7:10:02 > 7:10:06along with your cocoa mix.

7:10:06 > 7:10:09You want to keep whisking it quite well until it goes nice and smooth.

7:10:09 > 7:10:11We're not actually going to use this batch today.

7:10:11 > 7:10:13It's just to show you how to do it, really.

7:10:13 > 7:10:16So, once you've mixed it to a nice, thick, smooth paste,

7:10:16 > 7:10:18you pour half of it - ish - into the other mixing bowl

7:10:18 > 7:10:21and then you add your cocoa powder to it

7:10:21 > 7:10:23and then you want to give that a mix.

7:10:23 > 7:10:25So, there you have two different types of pancake batter.

7:10:25 > 7:10:27Oh, the smell coming off that is amazing!

7:10:27 > 7:10:30I want to eat it, but don't eat it until you've cooked it!

7:10:30 > 7:10:31I know you're tempted.

7:10:31 > 7:10:34OK, so very simply, that's how you make pancake mix

7:10:34 > 7:10:36if you want to try this at home. Lindsey and Radzi,

7:10:36 > 7:10:38- if you'd like to come in, please. - Yes!- Here we go.

7:10:38 > 7:10:41So, I've put your batter into bottles to make it easier for you.

7:10:41 > 7:10:43OK, there they are, so you can draw with them.

7:10:43 > 7:10:45You want to do it in layers.

7:10:45 > 7:10:46Let me tell you what you're playing for -

7:10:46 > 7:10:49- the coveted gold frying pan, my friends.- Aah!

7:10:49 > 7:10:51It's a beautiful thing, isn't it? Money can't buy.

7:10:51 > 7:10:54This could be yours. So, we're going to do it in layers, in stages.

7:10:54 > 7:10:55- Use the cocoa batter first.- Yes.

7:10:55 > 7:10:57Then you'll want to fill in the detail.

7:10:57 > 7:10:59- It's like colouring in. Are you ready?- This is hard.

7:10:59 > 7:11:01Two and a half minutes on the time, starts...

7:11:01 > 7:11:02- now!- Um...

7:11:02 > 7:11:05So, the reason you're doing the cocoa butter first -

7:11:05 > 7:11:07- it's a bit like when you're drawing a picture.- Oh, no.

7:11:07 > 7:11:10You use the liner and then you colour it in afterwards, don't you?

7:11:10 > 7:11:12I think I recognise this picture that Radzi's doing.

7:11:12 > 7:11:15If I'm right, this is very similar to your autograph. Am I right?

7:11:15 > 7:11:18- It is indeed, sir!- So, you want to make sure you're nice and quick

7:11:18 > 7:11:21with this because you don't want the batter on the outside to burn.

7:11:21 > 7:11:23- This is hard. - Once you've done the brown outline,

7:11:23 > 7:11:26you want to fill it in with the white stuff. That's the idea.

7:11:26 > 7:11:28Is that Shelley? That's really good.

7:11:28 > 7:11:31- I've just given her a massive eyeball.- That's OK.- What a shame.

7:11:31 > 7:11:33It helps her to see better at night.

7:11:33 > 7:11:36- Wait, do I need to write "Shelley" backwards?- Yeah, because

7:11:36 > 7:11:38- it's going to flip over.- I've got myself into a mess here.

7:11:38 > 7:11:41That's a good point. You've got to flip the pancake for it to count.

7:11:41 > 7:11:43- Barney, have you ever heard of Picasso?- I have, yes.

7:11:43 > 7:11:45- Is that what you're going for? - He's got nothing on me.

7:11:45 > 7:11:48- It's a beautiful thing.- Oh, no, I've done it wrong.- It's OK, don't worry.

7:11:48 > 7:11:51- Wait a second. No, it's not right. - That's backwards.

7:11:51 > 7:11:54- Yeah, it is.- Then the "S" is at the end.- I think you're OK.

7:11:54 > 7:11:57- If you keep spelling that way, you'll be fine.- Are you sure?

7:11:57 > 7:11:59If you flip it, it's the other way round. Yeah.

7:11:59 > 7:12:02Unless you're spelling it "Shelley's."

7:12:02 > 7:12:04You've got one minute, 30 seconds left.

7:12:04 > 7:12:07- I like this.- Doing really well. If you are going to try this at home,

7:12:07 > 7:12:09make sure you get a parent to help you. Don't forget,

7:12:09 > 7:12:11things can get quite hot. I know you know what you're doing

7:12:11 > 7:12:13and you're safe when you're in the kitchen.

7:12:13 > 7:12:16This is like being an ice cream man. You know when you ask him for a 99,

7:12:16 > 7:12:18and then he gives you strawberry or chocolate sauce?

7:12:18 > 7:12:20- This is like that sauce.- Amazing.

7:12:20 > 7:12:22It's a very nice batter.

7:12:22 > 7:12:25Now, I haven't made these Blue Peter themed pancakes,

7:12:25 > 7:12:26but I am going to be judging yours.

7:12:26 > 7:12:28Yours smell like they're burning pretty badly.

7:12:28 > 7:12:29Mine are burnt. Do you do this?

7:12:31 > 7:12:32Yeah?

7:12:32 > 7:12:34Well, if we take just the two examples here

7:12:34 > 7:12:35that are being presented to you.

7:12:35 > 7:12:38You've got a minute left. Radzi, you might need to start looking

7:12:38 > 7:12:41at flipping that. I don't know what Lindsey's doing, I really don't.

7:12:41 > 7:12:44- It's very, very hot over here. - You've got 50 seconds left.

7:12:44 > 7:12:46This is one burnt Shelley I'm giving you.

7:12:46 > 7:12:48It's good.

7:12:48 > 7:12:50Don't try that, don't do that. Do this.

7:12:50 > 7:12:53- Radzi, mate, you've got 40 seconds left.- Radzi's trying really hard.

7:12:53 > 7:12:55I am trying. This is my concentration face.

7:12:55 > 7:12:58You're going to want to think about flipping that because

7:12:58 > 7:13:00- it'll stick to the pan otherwise. - Am I? No, not yet.

7:13:00 > 7:13:03- Can you smell burning? - I can smell a really bad smell.

7:13:03 > 7:13:06- Give it a flip, see if that helps. - What shall I do? Barney!

7:13:06 > 7:13:08Well, it needs to cook, doesn't it?

7:13:08 > 7:13:11You've got 24 seconds left, so let it cook for a little bit.

7:13:11 > 7:13:15- Let it cook.- Yeah.- Shall I just turn the heat up?- It's going well.

7:13:15 > 7:13:17If something's burning, do you turn the heat up?

7:13:17 > 7:13:19Or, do you turn it down?

7:13:19 > 7:13:21I know, but when it's competitive like this.

7:13:21 > 7:13:23Radzi's never done this before and he's doing

7:13:23 > 7:13:25an absolute genius of a job.

7:13:25 > 7:13:27Don't forget, mate, we need a flip in there.

7:13:27 > 7:13:29- I might not have time to flip it! - Wait, wait, wait, wait!

7:13:29 > 7:13:31- Look at mine!- Mate, leave it as it is!

7:13:31 > 7:13:33- SIREN BLARES - Put it flat, put it flat.

7:13:33 > 7:13:35Give that a quick flip, please.

7:13:35 > 7:13:37It's actually not too bad.

7:13:37 > 7:13:39OK, so, let's get these on our display plates.

7:13:39 > 7:13:41I've got Shelley the wrong way round.

7:13:41 > 7:13:43- Flip that onto there, please, Linds. - I've burnt Shelley.

7:13:43 > 7:13:45Radzi, put yours on there.

7:13:45 > 7:13:48- It actually looks really good. - Radzi, yours is really good!

7:13:48 > 7:13:49- I'm really happy! - If you want to try this,

7:13:49 > 7:13:52go to the Blue Peter website. You'll find all the details on there.

7:13:52 > 7:13:55We've got some sweet and savoury ideas for you as well.

7:13:55 > 7:13:57While you're on the website, there is loads going on.

7:13:57 > 7:13:59There's a brand-new game called Geo's Gym.

7:13:59 > 7:14:01- Radzi and I, we had a go at it the other day, didn't we?- We did.

7:14:04 > 7:14:05So, loads going on on the website.

7:14:05 > 7:14:09It's not even a contest. Radzi, that is the best Radzi pancake

7:14:09 > 7:14:11- I have ever seen. - That's really, really good!

7:14:11 > 7:14:13APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

7:14:13 > 7:14:16- Beautiful, congratulations, mate. - Well done.

7:14:17 > 7:14:20- Can you...?- Bit of a weird... - Can you smell that?

7:14:20 > 7:14:23- I think I'm nervous. - Nope, no, it's not that.

7:14:23 > 7:14:25It's our brand-new Sport Relief game.

7:14:25 > 7:14:27Look, we're asking you to send in your sweaty socks!

7:14:27 > 7:14:29Not your real ones, of course!

7:14:29 > 7:14:31But all you need to do is head to the Blue Peter website.

7:14:31 > 7:14:34There's a lovely little example of the template there that you need.

7:14:34 > 7:14:37Cut around the sock, decorate it and remember to tell us

7:14:37 > 7:14:39what you are doing for Sport Relief.

7:14:39 > 7:14:41How good do they look? Thank you, whoever sent them in.

7:14:41 > 7:14:44- Amazing. Radzi?- Yeah? - What do you get if you cross

7:14:44 > 7:14:47an Olympic champion with four wheels and a head-to-head race?

7:14:47 > 7:14:48That's easy.

7:14:48 > 7:14:50Our brand-new 2016 Sport Relief challenge.

7:14:50 > 7:14:53Speaking of which, we need some energy. Let's eat these, shall we?

7:14:53 > 7:14:54Mine's burnt.

7:14:57 > 7:15:00'From subzero temperatures to epic swims,

7:15:00 > 7:15:03'here on Blue Peter, we love pushing ourselves to the limit

7:15:03 > 7:15:05'for Sport Relief.'

7:15:05 > 7:15:07So proud of him!

7:15:07 > 7:15:09'And this year is no exception.

7:15:09 > 7:15:11'We've been set a special challenge to inspire you

7:15:11 > 7:15:15'to get involved with Sport Relief 2016.'

7:15:15 > 7:15:17Supposed to be here at nine o'clock

7:15:17 > 7:15:18for our new cycle challenge and...

7:15:18 > 7:15:21He will be furious if I'm late!

7:15:21 > 7:15:23- BICYCLE HORN BLASTS - Finally! How are you doing?

7:15:23 > 7:15:25Mate, I'm sorry I'm late, but do you know what?

7:15:25 > 7:15:28I'm kitted out with the right stuff and even got

7:15:28 > 7:15:29Blue Peter flag.

7:15:29 > 7:15:32That's a nice bike. I think you might want to leave that here.

7:15:32 > 7:15:35There's probably some much cooler stuff inside.

7:15:35 > 7:15:37'There's no place for that thing here.

7:15:37 > 7:15:40'This is the National Cycling Centre in Manchester

7:15:40 > 7:15:43'and inside, you'll find the velodrome -

7:15:43 > 7:15:45'a track that has banked sides which help riders

7:15:45 > 7:15:47'go really fast!'

7:15:47 > 7:15:49Look at this!

7:15:49 > 7:15:50This is unbelievable!

7:15:50 > 7:15:53- Barney?- What?- This is where our challenge is happening.

7:15:53 > 7:15:55Hey, mate, no ordinary challenge.

7:15:55 > 7:15:58This is a "wheelie" big challenge.

7:15:58 > 7:16:00'Ha-ha-ha!

7:16:00 > 7:16:02'And our Sport Relief challenge won't be as simple

7:16:02 > 7:16:04'as just getting round it without falling off.'

7:16:04 > 7:16:07'Of course not! We're taking on something called

7:16:07 > 7:16:09'a mini-omnium, or to you and I,

7:16:09 > 7:16:12'three different track cycling races.'

7:16:12 > 7:16:15'To tell us more is six-time Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy.'

7:16:15 > 7:16:18Hi, Barney and Radzi. Your Sport Relief challenge

7:16:18 > 7:16:22is going to push your cycling abilities to the limit.

7:16:22 > 7:16:25Your mini-omnium is going to be made up from three cycling events.

7:16:25 > 7:16:27First, the flying lap -

7:16:27 > 7:16:30one shot each at clocking the quickest circuit.

7:16:30 > 7:16:32Fastest wins.

7:16:32 > 7:16:34Next, the match sprint -

7:16:34 > 7:16:36a tactical race with a fast finish.

7:16:36 > 7:16:38And finally, the kilo.

7:16:38 > 7:16:40You both start at different points in the track

7:16:40 > 7:16:43and have 1km to try and catch each other up.

7:16:43 > 7:16:45Good luck!

7:16:45 > 7:16:46Two words -

7:16:46 > 7:16:48hard work!

7:16:48 > 7:16:50'This really will be!

7:16:50 > 7:16:54'So, we need a top coach and, luckily, we've got one - Charlie.

7:16:54 > 7:16:57'You may recognise from Barney's Tour of Britain challenge.'

7:16:57 > 7:16:58Mate, I can't even speak.

7:16:58 > 7:17:01'That was a tough one. Now, I've ridden on a track before,

7:17:01 > 7:17:03'so it's only fair that Radzi gets a taster

7:17:03 > 7:17:05'before training gets serious.'

7:17:06 > 7:17:08Gents, I officially feel like Sir Chris Hoy.

7:17:08 > 7:17:11You do look the part, mate, doesn't he?

7:17:11 > 7:17:12You certainly look the part, Radzi.

7:17:12 > 7:17:15We've noticed a distinct difference already and that is with the bike.

7:17:15 > 7:17:17Where are the brakes?

7:17:17 > 7:17:19We don't need brakes. We can regulate pace

7:17:19 > 7:17:23using the geometry of the track and the fixed wheel.

7:17:23 > 7:17:25- So, to go faster, we need to pedal faster.- Exactly.

7:17:25 > 7:17:28And the only way we can stop is by slowing our legs down.

7:17:28 > 7:17:30We need to get some bike riding done.

7:17:30 > 7:17:31I'm ready!

7:17:32 > 7:17:34'Charlie wants me to see if I can get round the track

7:17:34 > 7:17:36'without falling off.'

7:17:36 > 7:17:38- Off you go.- OK.

7:17:38 > 7:17:42- Nice, strong push, that's it. - I don't like this, Barn.

7:17:42 > 7:17:45'This is so weird. My feet are clipped in so I can't

7:17:45 > 7:17:48'even put them down, and I'm not even on the steep banked

7:17:48 > 7:17:50'part of the track yet.'

7:17:50 > 7:17:52Go, go, go!

7:17:52 > 7:17:55'After sort of getting used to the bike on the flat,

7:17:55 > 7:17:57'I ever so carefully move onto the light blue section -

7:17:57 > 7:17:59'the very edge of the banking.'

7:17:59 > 7:18:01I'll tell you what, Charlie, my stress levels

7:18:01 > 7:18:03are through the roof right now.

7:18:03 > 7:18:06'But I manage to complete a few circuits.'

7:18:07 > 7:18:11Nicely done, wind it down and come in for me, Radzi.

7:18:11 > 7:18:13That felt...

7:18:13 > 7:18:14so intense.

7:18:14 > 7:18:16It's quite a steep banking, but you're mastering it.

7:18:16 > 7:18:18We're getting you there.

7:18:19 > 7:18:21'The next day we head to Derby Velodrome

7:18:21 > 7:18:24'for our first day on the track together.'

7:18:26 > 7:18:29In your own time, boys, roll off.

7:18:29 > 7:18:32'Charlie wants us to start practising skills we'll need

7:18:32 > 7:18:33'for our challenge.

7:18:33 > 7:18:35'Two of our races will rely on sheer speed,

7:18:35 > 7:18:38'so we need to learn the fastest way round the track.'

7:18:38 > 7:18:40That's it, squeeze it on.

7:18:40 > 7:18:43'To do that, we need to use the coloured lines.

7:18:43 > 7:18:44'First up - black.

7:18:44 > 7:18:46'This line shows the shortest distance

7:18:46 > 7:18:48'in which you can do a lap.'

7:18:49 > 7:18:52'Then, Charlie wants us to move between the red and blue lines

7:18:52 > 7:18:55'to build our confidence and help us increase our speed.'

7:18:55 > 7:18:57Hey, you're looking confident there, Radzi.

7:18:57 > 7:19:00I can already see in just a short amount of time

7:19:00 > 7:19:02that Radzi is strong, he learns quick.

7:19:02 > 7:19:07I went from really scared to absolutely loving that.

7:19:07 > 7:19:10The speed you get... You literally feel like a fighter jet.

7:19:10 > 7:19:11WHOOSH

7:19:11 > 7:19:14'Next, we need to ride against each other on the track

7:19:14 > 7:19:17'to help us prepare for our match sprint race.'

7:19:17 > 7:19:19Going to have a little game of follow-the-leader.

7:19:19 > 7:19:21Barney, you're going to be leader. So, Radzi,

7:19:21 > 7:19:24wherever Barney positions himself on the track, you need to follow.

7:19:24 > 7:19:27Off you go, Barney. Lead away.

7:19:27 > 7:19:29'This gets us used to riding close together

7:19:29 > 7:19:31'and tests our coordination.'

7:19:32 > 7:19:35'When swapping positions, the rider on the outside

7:19:35 > 7:19:37'has to work harder - something we'll have to master

7:19:37 > 7:19:40'if we want to overtake in the race.'

7:19:40 > 7:19:42Barney!

7:19:42 > 7:19:43It's my turn to overtake!

7:19:43 > 7:19:45- Go on, mate!- I'm taking the lead!

7:19:45 > 7:19:47Look at him go!

7:19:47 > 7:19:48This is really tough!

7:19:50 > 7:19:52So, what have we learnt from that?

7:19:52 > 7:19:55We've learnt you are very confident and very good, in my opinion.

7:19:55 > 7:19:57I think I'm more confident because I've done it more.

7:19:57 > 7:20:00I think you're strong. When you overtook me over here,

7:20:00 > 7:20:02and I tried to keep up with you, I was struggling.

7:20:02 > 7:20:05It's definitely a well-suited challenge for two of us, I think.

7:20:05 > 7:20:09Because I've got confidence, you've got strength. Anything could happen.

7:20:09 > 7:20:11And one thing's guaranteed - we're going to have fun.

7:20:11 > 7:20:12We are going to have fun.

7:20:12 > 7:20:15- I'll high-five to that.- Yes. - Got you.- Oh.

7:20:15 > 7:20:17Speaking of fun,

7:20:17 > 7:20:19we're taking a break from training to join this Go Ride session

7:20:19 > 7:20:24organised by British Cycling, to have a go with some young riders.

7:20:24 > 7:20:26These sessions allow cyclists of all abilities

7:20:26 > 7:20:28to get some expert coaching.

7:20:28 > 7:20:30And they don't just take place on the track.

7:20:30 > 7:20:33I like cycling because you can keep fit.

7:20:33 > 7:20:36I like cycling because you can meet a new group of friends.

7:20:36 > 7:20:38You can ride wherever you want, whenever you want.

7:20:38 > 7:20:41- And everybody gets on with each other.- But I am better than you.

7:20:41 > 7:20:44- No, I'm better than you. - That's the spirit.

7:20:44 > 7:20:46You can't beat a bit of competition.

7:20:46 > 7:20:49Let's take that into our Sport Relief challenge, Barn.

7:20:49 > 7:20:52We're training for our cycling challenge because we want to

7:20:52 > 7:20:54inspire you to get involved with this year's Sport Relief.

7:20:54 > 7:20:57We want you to walk, run, swim or even cycle for Sport Relief.

7:20:57 > 7:21:00There are so many different ways you can get involved

7:21:00 > 7:21:02for Sport Relief, and cycling is just one of them.

7:21:02 > 7:21:05- You can say that again. - Cycling is just one of them.

7:21:05 > 7:21:07We're done here.

7:21:09 > 7:21:12Barney and Radzi voted comedy duo, best 2016. There you have it.

7:21:12 > 7:21:15The lovely warm studio, and as you can see, we're outside here now with

7:21:15 > 7:21:18our thermal underpants on to tell you about something very exciting.

7:21:18 > 7:21:20We want you to get inspired for Sport Relief

7:21:20 > 7:21:22and we are only moments away...

7:21:22 > 7:21:23- PHONE RINGS - Oh, even less.- There we go.

7:21:23 > 7:21:25Zero minutes to go. Let's do it.

7:21:25 > 7:21:27Zero minutes away from announcing

7:21:27 > 7:21:29Lindsey's huge, big Sport Relief challenge.

7:21:29 > 7:21:32- Do you want to see it? Oh, go on, then.- Not yet.

7:21:32 > 7:21:35You've been telling us all day on CBBC what you think it is.

7:21:35 > 7:21:38We've had some incorrect, but quite funny, guesses. They've been good.

7:21:38 > 7:21:41SalmonStormyRat says, "Run a 100 metres jumping over hamster balls,

7:21:41 > 7:21:44"then paddle 50 metres around hamster balls." That's a good idea.

7:21:44 > 7:21:47- Me and you think exactly the same. - I'm glad it's not that.

7:21:47 > 7:21:49CyanChirpyActor says, "Running a mini-marathon

7:21:49 > 7:21:50"in a human hamster ball."

7:21:50 > 7:21:53Not... Can't say anything.

7:21:53 > 7:21:56MustardRainbowActor, "I think Lindsey is in a large ball

7:21:56 > 7:21:59"full of water and she has to find a way to get out."

7:21:59 > 7:22:00- Hmm.- I like it.

7:22:00 > 7:22:03- There's a lot that are close. - Everyone's close.

7:22:03 > 7:22:05Imagination is off the charts, by the way.

7:22:05 > 7:22:08We have had correct guesses though. From OnyxTrailingMonkey,

7:22:08 > 7:22:11AmberRockJedi, AmethystMegaRhino, CreamEcstaticDog,

7:22:11 > 7:22:13GoldJokeyPrimeRoast, MagentaSportyGiraffe...

7:22:13 > 7:22:15- Good reading!- Yeah, thank you.

7:22:15 > 7:22:18There's been loads of correct guesses. Big moment. Everyone ready?

7:22:18 > 7:22:20- Ready.- There it is!

7:22:20 > 7:22:24CHEERING

7:22:28 > 7:22:31Wow. And if you think that's impressive,

7:22:31 > 7:22:33just wait until you see what I'm going to do.

7:22:33 > 7:22:35Have a look at this.

7:22:35 > 7:22:38Sport Relief 2016 is going to be huge.

7:22:38 > 7:22:43So I'm going to do something truly epic to inspire you to get involved.

7:22:43 > 7:22:46We've assembled a team of top engineers.

7:22:47 > 7:22:50And I've had to get fit, really fit.

7:22:50 > 7:22:53Why have we done all this?

7:22:53 > 7:22:55So I can run across the Irish Sea.

7:22:57 > 7:23:00Over 20 miles of open water.

7:23:01 > 7:23:03Pushing my body to the absolute limit.

7:23:07 > 7:23:10I'm about to become the wave-runner.

7:23:10 > 7:23:13Keep driving, keep driving. Keep driving!

7:23:15 > 7:23:17Oh, my goodness.

7:23:17 > 7:23:18It's over there.

7:23:23 > 7:23:25SHE SCREAMS

7:23:27 > 7:23:29Yay!

7:23:37 > 7:23:39That's right!

7:23:39 > 7:23:42That is what I'm going to be doing. Help me!

7:23:42 > 7:23:44Lindsey, it's hard to believe you're actually going to do this.

7:23:44 > 7:23:47- It seems impossible.- It does seem impossible, doesn't it?

7:23:47 > 7:23:49It is a really big challenge.

7:23:49 > 7:23:51But the best thing about Blue Peter, do you know what it is?

7:23:51 > 7:23:55They surround you with the best of the best. And so my team is amazing.

7:23:55 > 7:23:58- Nice.- Yeah, Barney and Radzi. But also Greg Whyte.

7:23:58 > 7:24:01He's been training me up, getting me in really good condition.

7:24:01 > 7:24:04Abdul over there just said, "I hope you're healthy."

7:24:04 > 7:24:08So do I. Greg Whyte, he trained Davina a couple of years ago.

7:24:08 > 7:24:10- I remember that. - Do you remember? She did 500 miles.

7:24:10 > 7:24:12She did incredible.

7:24:12 > 7:24:13So I am in good hands,

7:24:13 > 7:24:15and I'm going to be nice and safe, and hopefully I can do it.

7:24:15 > 7:24:17When you think about Sport Relief,

7:24:17 > 7:24:20this year it's all about running, swimming, cycling and walking.

7:24:20 > 7:24:22- We've done the cycling... - And falling.- And the falling, yeah.

7:24:22 > 7:24:25I guess you're doing kind of like the running and walking?

7:24:25 > 7:24:27I've got the rest of it covered in that thing.

7:24:27 > 7:24:30I just wanted to do something huge that is going to inspire you lot

7:24:30 > 7:24:33at home to basically get involved this year with Sport Relief.

7:24:33 > 7:24:36It's so important that you do. It's never been done before.

7:24:36 > 7:24:38This is a famous swimming route, though.

7:24:38 > 7:24:41It has been swam by very talented people,

7:24:41 > 7:24:44but never crossed in this wave-running machine that we've got.

7:24:44 > 7:24:47- So hopefully...- I can see why.- Yeah, I know. It's a bit scary, isn't it?

7:24:47 > 7:24:49Let's talk about the route itself.

7:24:49 > 7:24:51Let's talk about the distance and what you're doing.

7:24:51 > 7:24:54Well, you can see on this map that we're going to show you.

7:24:54 > 7:24:56I'm going from Northern Ireland, Donaghadee,

7:24:56 > 7:24:59all the way over there to Portpatrick, that's in Scotland.

7:24:59 > 7:25:01That is, believe it or not, the shortest crossing.

7:25:01 > 7:25:04It's 20 miles on the water. And we believe that on the day,

7:25:04 > 7:25:07with the wind and the conditions and everything going against me,

7:25:07 > 7:25:11on the day, it could be up to 25 or 30 miles as a crossing.

7:25:11 > 7:25:14- And this is on water. That's not just on the road.- Exactly.

7:25:14 > 7:25:17- It's incredible. - A marathon is 26.2 miles.

7:25:17 > 7:25:19That's sort of a marathon distance.

7:25:19 > 7:25:21- You've in fact run the London Marathon.- Yes.- Is it different?

7:25:21 > 7:25:24Well, Radz, I wish I was running the London Marathon again.

7:25:24 > 7:25:27Because I never thought I'd say that but this is quite a bit harder

7:25:27 > 7:25:30because it's all about the arms and legs, this one.

7:25:30 > 7:25:33We thought, Greg thought, it was going to be,

7:25:33 > 7:25:36like, leg strength and running, but actually there's a lot of pushing.

7:25:36 > 7:25:38So I've really had to get into that gym.

7:25:38 > 7:25:41- That's me running on the Peaks. - That's a great shot, I love that.

7:25:41 > 7:25:43I'm going to get very cold, very wet and I'm going to set off

7:25:43 > 7:25:45at about one in the morning, we think.

7:25:45 > 7:25:48- So it's going to be cold, wet and dark.- How the guns looking, Linds?

7:25:48 > 7:25:49They're fine.

7:25:49 > 7:25:52I'm not quite Radzi Chinyanganya yet, but I'm getting there.

7:25:52 > 7:25:55Linds, we're going to be behind you every step of the way,

7:25:55 > 7:25:57we really are. I say that, we're going to be in that cafe, actually.

7:25:57 > 7:25:59Drinking hot chocolate, exactly.

7:25:59 > 7:26:02I'm going to this way and talk to chief engineer, and my hero, Grant.

7:26:02 > 7:26:04- Hello. Good to see you, Grant. - How you doing?

7:26:04 > 7:26:06- Now, you've build this amazing machine, haven't you?- Yes.

7:26:06 > 7:26:08Have you ever build anything like this?

7:26:08 > 7:26:10Nothing quite like this, no.

7:26:10 > 7:26:12Which means we better do so much testing and research

7:26:12 > 7:26:14to make sure this is actually safe on the water.

7:26:14 > 7:26:17I should say, while I've been getting really fit and healthy

7:26:17 > 7:26:20and spending months on this, Grant has been building this.

7:26:20 > 7:26:22You've been working so hard with your brother, James,

7:26:22 > 7:26:24and it really does look incredible.

7:26:24 > 7:26:26So talk us through this wave-running machine.

7:26:26 > 7:26:29So all the red sections here are the steel structure.

7:26:29 > 7:26:31That actually holds everything together.

7:26:31 > 7:26:33We've got the blue paddles here.

7:26:33 > 7:26:36So that actually turns your walking motion inside into kind of like

7:26:36 > 7:26:40a waterwheel, and gives you traction on the water and moves you along.

7:26:40 > 7:26:43The final thing on the end, we've got the foam buoyancy stabilisers.

7:26:43 > 7:26:46They help you in any adverse weather - so waves, wind.

7:26:46 > 7:26:49Anything that might cause this to topple over,

7:26:49 > 7:26:50they'll keep you safe inside.

7:26:50 > 7:26:54It's basically a giant seaworthy floating hamster ball, isn't it?

7:26:54 > 7:26:56- Kind of, yes. - Listen, Team Wave-Runner.

7:26:56 > 7:26:57I think we can do this, Grant.

7:26:57 > 7:27:00- You're going to be there on the day, aren't you?- Looking forward to it.

7:27:00 > 7:27:03- Thank you for coming on Blue Peter. - Guys, do we think she can do it?

7:27:03 > 7:27:06ALL: Yes!

7:27:06 > 7:27:08- Thank you.- There's a long way to go yet though, isn't there?

7:27:08 > 7:27:10There is a long way.

7:27:10 > 7:27:13And you can catch up with everything on the Blue Peter website.

7:27:13 > 7:27:16- Make sure you head there. Shall I go get in?- Yeah, get in!

7:27:16 > 7:27:18- Get in, Linds!- Why not? Get yourself ready, get used to it.- Bye.

7:27:18 > 7:27:21- Linds, we'll see you in Scotland. - See you. Ah!

7:27:21 > 7:27:24- So.- That's it...- Are you OK?

7:27:24 > 7:27:27Lindsey has wind in there,

7:27:27 > 7:27:29a bit like me after I've had a lot of baked beans.

7:27:29 > 7:27:31It's time to talk about next week's show. What's coming up, Barn?

7:27:31 > 7:27:33Well, you think we'd be sick of pancakes,

7:27:33 > 7:27:35but we've got a really cool race next week.

7:27:35 > 7:27:38I'm going to do a pancake race. I'm going to be crepe-ing over the line!

7:27:38 > 7:27:40- No?- Eh... No.- OK, fine.

7:27:40 > 7:27:42Let's talk about the greatest British cycling Olympian

7:27:42 > 7:27:44of all time, Sir Chris Hoy.

7:27:44 > 7:27:47He's getting his hands on us in our brand-new challenge.

7:27:47 > 7:27:48Have a great week. We'll see you next week.

7:27:48 > 7:27:50- Lindsey, be safe in there..- Bye!

7:27:50 > 7:27:52Give us a big cheer, everybody and wave goodbye.

7:27:52 > 7:27:53See you later.
