7:03:06 > 7:03:09To inspire you to get involved with Sport Relief 2016,

7:03:09 > 7:03:13we've been training hard for a very special challenge.

7:03:13 > 7:03:16- That is so tiring!- Probably the hardest thing I've done yet!

7:03:16 > 7:03:20It's a wheelie tough challenge we were set by cycling legend

7:03:20 > 7:03:22- Sir Chris Hoy. - Hi, Barney and Radzi!

7:03:22 > 7:03:25Your Sport Relief challenge is going to push your cycling

7:03:25 > 7:03:29- abilities to the limit. - We're taking on a mini omnium.

7:03:29 > 7:03:32Basically, it's the best of three different track races -

7:03:32 > 7:03:35the flying lap, the match sprint and the kilo.

7:03:35 > 7:03:40And after three months of training, it's finally race day.

7:03:40 > 7:03:44We'll be competing in front of 3,500 people

7:03:48 > 7:03:52- To help settle our nerves, our coach, Charlie...- Morning, lads!

7:03:52 > 7:03:55- ..has a surprise in store. - Wow, look at that!- Look at those!

7:03:55 > 7:03:58Our very own Blue Peter cycling outfits.

7:04:00 > 7:04:03Now we look the part, there's only one thing for it. Let's race!

7:04:06 > 7:04:08First up, the flying lap.

7:04:08 > 7:04:13We will take it in turns to try and set the fastest time on one lap

7:04:13 > 7:04:16around the track. And I'm up first.

7:04:16 > 7:04:17Go up on track. Go on, man!

7:04:17 > 7:04:20Now, all I need to do is remember my training,

7:04:20 > 7:04:23get to the top of the track, build up speed and wait for the bell,

7:04:23 > 7:04:26- before dropping down and going for it on my final lap.- Come on, Barney!

7:04:26 > 7:04:28Up, up, up!

7:04:28 > 7:04:30No, no, no! Height!

7:04:32 > 7:04:36- Oh!- I'm not sure why Charlie is shouting at me.

7:04:38 > 7:04:41He timed it wrong.

7:04:41 > 7:04:43But when I hear the bell, I realise my mistake.

7:04:43 > 7:04:47- I've dropped down a lap too early. - Come on, Barney! Come on!

7:04:49 > 7:04:54I try to sprint for two laps instead of one, but my legs are in agony.

7:04:54 > 7:04:55I can't believe it.

7:04:55 > 7:04:58The one event I've always been strongest at

7:04:58 > 7:05:00and I've thrown it away. I am gutted.

7:05:00 > 7:05:02Is that it?

7:05:04 > 7:05:07Unlucky, Barney. Now it's my turn.

7:05:08 > 7:05:13I keep as high as I can and when it matters, I drop down the bell,

7:05:13 > 7:05:15just as my last lap starts.

7:05:19 > 7:05:22But I go a bit wide on the corner and it has slowed me down!

7:05:22 > 7:05:25Over the line! Come on, Radzi!

7:05:25 > 7:05:28My legs are burning, but I keep on pedalling.

7:05:28 > 7:05:31Come on, Radzi. This is the last bend. I have to go for it now!

7:05:34 > 7:05:39I've done it! Beating Barney by three seconds. That's one to me.

7:05:41 > 7:05:44I just gave that everything. Absolutely everything.

7:05:46 > 7:05:48Next, the match sprint.

7:05:48 > 7:05:51A tactical race, with both riders going head-to-head on track

7:05:51 > 7:05:54sprinting flat-out for the finish.

7:05:54 > 7:05:57And before we hit the track, our training partners,

7:05:57 > 7:06:00Josh and Tilly, arrive to offer some advice.

7:06:00 > 7:06:02Josh, I'm in trouble. What can I do?

7:06:02 > 7:06:04Make sure that you can always see Radzi,

7:06:04 > 7:06:07- so you can anticipate his moves. - OK. Tilly?

7:06:07 > 7:06:10I think you need to move around the track. Confuse him a little bit.

7:06:10 > 7:06:13- I can do that, I reckon.- It doesn't take a lot to confuse me!

7:06:13 > 7:06:17- Let battle commence! - Come on, Barney. Go, Radzi!

7:06:17 > 7:06:20I decide to take the lead early and see what Radzi does.

7:06:20 > 7:06:24- Don't you worry, Barn, I'm close behind.- I've got you, Radz.

7:06:24 > 7:06:26I'm trying to keep an eye on Radzi,

7:06:26 > 7:06:29but it's hard looking over your shoulder.

7:06:29 > 7:06:32I'm hanging back for a surprise attack.

7:06:34 > 7:06:38As the bell rings, I decide to go for it!

7:06:38 > 7:06:42My only hope is to overtake him on the bend. But again, I go wide!

7:06:45 > 7:06:49I try to catch him, but he's left me so much to do.

7:06:49 > 7:06:52I have no idea where Radzi is any more.

7:06:52 > 7:06:57My head is down and I'm going for the line. And that makes it 1-1.

7:06:58 > 7:07:01I tried so hard to come back at you then!

7:07:01 > 7:07:05You were just absolutely pedal to the metal.

7:07:05 > 7:07:08Once the bell went, I didn't know where you were.

7:07:08 > 7:07:11So, it's one apiece going into the final race.

7:07:11 > 7:07:13But this is more than just a head-to-head.

7:07:13 > 7:07:15This is for Sport Relief.

7:07:16 > 7:07:20Every two years, Sport Relief raises money to help fund projects

7:07:20 > 7:07:23both here in the UK and abroad.

7:07:23 > 7:07:25And we were lucky enough to visit one of those charities

7:07:25 > 7:07:27to find out more about their work.

7:07:27 > 7:07:30We're visiting a project called Wheels For Wellbeing.

7:07:30 > 7:07:32It's a project funded by Sport Relief.

7:07:32 > 7:07:35It aims to give people living with disabilities a real

7:07:35 > 7:07:37sense of freedom and a chance to build confidence.

7:07:37 > 7:07:40They do this by using specially adapted bikes.

7:07:40 > 7:07:44And someone who knows all about how valuable these sessions are is Trey.

7:07:44 > 7:07:46What is it all about?

7:07:46 > 7:07:48What is it that people just love so much about coming here?

7:07:48 > 7:07:52They love to ride round on the bike very fast.

7:07:52 > 7:07:54They like seeing new people.

7:07:58 > 7:08:00So, it's not just about riding a bike here.

7:08:00 > 7:08:02- It's about making new friends, as well, isn't it?- Yes!

7:08:02 > 7:08:05Because I like keeping people company.

7:08:05 > 7:08:10If they feel lonely, I can just ride with them.

7:08:10 > 7:08:13- This is so much fun!- Whoa!

7:08:13 > 7:08:15And it's really important to people like Trey.

7:08:15 > 7:08:18So, make sure you get involved with Sport Relief this year.

7:08:18 > 7:08:21The money you raise will go to help projects like this.

7:08:21 > 7:08:24Now, though, it's time to go back to the velodrome

7:08:24 > 7:08:27and settle our challenge once and for all.

7:08:27 > 7:08:29So, I took the flying lap.

7:08:29 > 7:08:34Barney took the sprint. It all comes down to this.

7:08:34 > 7:08:41Only one of us can win this. This is the decider. The kilo.

7:08:41 > 7:08:43Starting from opposite sides of the track,

7:08:43 > 7:08:46we have just four laps to try and catch each other up.

7:08:46 > 7:08:49The first person across the finish line wins.

7:08:49 > 7:08:51You know what you're doing.

7:08:51 > 7:08:54I just want to say, get it all out on the track.

7:08:54 > 7:08:56START SIGNAL BEEPS

7:08:56 > 7:09:01And we're off! I get a better start and pedal as hard as I can.

7:09:01 > 7:09:04- It takes me a while to build my speed.- Come on!

7:09:04 > 7:09:09- After the first lap, it's neck and neck.- And I've decided to go for it.

7:09:10 > 7:09:15- But will I last the whole race? - I'm still in this.

7:09:15 > 7:09:17I just have to keep on pushing.

7:09:18 > 7:09:23- I begin my last lap, but my legs are really starting to tire.- Me too.

7:09:23 > 7:09:26I'm giving it everything and I have no idea where Radzi is.

7:09:26 > 7:09:30I can just see Barney for the first time. I know I'm catching him.

7:09:30 > 7:09:33I see finish line and I realise I've done it!

7:09:33 > 7:09:35Thank you!

7:09:35 > 7:09:37Radzi may have won, but we have had

7:09:37 > 7:09:40so much fun doing this challenge for Sport Relief.

7:09:40 > 7:09:42So, make sure you get involved.

7:09:42 > 7:09:45The money you raise really does make a difference.

7:09:45 > 7:09:47Ah, I miss Radzi.

7:09:47 > 7:09:50He's on holiday, by the way. Back next week.

7:09:50 > 7:09:53Thank you so much to Charlie, to Sir Chris Hoy, Josh, and Tilly.

7:11:16 > 7:11:19Thank you very much for that. Please give a huge round of applause

7:11:19 > 7:11:22for the sensational Ali Cook! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

7:11:22 > 7:11:25- How you doing? So good to see you. - Thank you very much.

7:11:25 > 7:11:27So, let's go straight into it. Sleight-of-hand magic -

7:11:27 > 7:11:29- you've got a trick for us? - Here we go.

7:11:29 > 7:11:32Something with the infamous Blue Peter badge. Have a look at that.

7:11:32 > 7:11:34Make sure it doesn't come apart.

7:11:34 > 7:11:35Yeah. that's a proper badge, isn't it?

7:11:35 > 7:11:38- Yeah, yeah.- Yeah, OK. - It doesn't come apart or anything.

7:11:38 > 7:11:41- What I want you to do is hold your hand out flat.- Yeah.

7:11:41 > 7:11:44- Close your hand to a tight fist around the badge.- OK.

7:11:44 > 7:11:47- Tight, tight, tight. It's going to vanish from your hand.- No, it's not!

7:11:47 > 7:11:51- Well, I'll try... - OK!- Keep that there. OK?- Yeah.

7:11:51 > 7:11:54Now, as well as that, I've got one of your other badges here.

7:11:54 > 7:11:56- This is the purple-and-white badge. - My favourite.

7:11:56 > 7:11:59We're going to come in really close on this. Watch, watch, watch.

7:11:59 > 7:12:02You can see, nothing in the hands. Nothing in the hands.

7:12:02 > 7:12:04Watch the badge.

7:12:04 > 7:12:09And it instantly changes! Into YOUR badge. Now, if I've got

7:12:09 > 7:12:12- YOUR badge... - No... You think I've got the purple?

7:12:12 > 7:12:15- Slowly open your hand!- No! OK, let's have a look.

7:12:15 > 7:12:16SHE GASPS

7:12:16 > 7:12:19It's the purple badge! How did you do that?

7:12:19 > 7:12:21CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

7:12:21 > 7:12:23That's very good. I was watching very closely. That was amazing.

7:12:23 > 7:12:27I'm very confused. How did you get into magic in the first place?

7:12:27 > 7:12:28What inspired you?

7:12:28 > 7:12:31My mum had a bookshop and I was trapped there working all day

7:12:31 > 7:12:34and then one day a Beginner's Guide To Magic came in and I just

7:12:34 > 7:12:37read it and read it and literally learned every trick in the book.

7:12:37 > 7:12:40And it's not just performing a certain type of trick -

7:12:40 > 7:12:42you're an escapologist, you're an illusionist.

7:12:42 > 7:12:45How would you describe all the different sides that magic has?

7:12:45 > 7:12:47Well, escapology was invented by Houdini,

7:12:47 > 7:12:49who got a bit bored of doing the usual tricks.

7:12:49 > 7:12:51And he thought, "If I tie myself up in chains,

7:12:51 > 7:12:54"throw myself in a tank of water, get out, an audience will love it."

7:12:54 > 7:12:56So, that's escapology.

7:12:56 > 7:12:59And then grand stage illusions - that's when you see, like,

7:12:59 > 7:13:03the boxes in Las Vegas, women get inside, tigers vanish,

7:13:03 > 7:13:06- elephants vanish.- Yeah, yeah. - It's all that kind of stuff.

7:13:06 > 7:13:09So, there's going to be a huge trick later on in the show.

7:13:09 > 7:13:12You've got something else to show us, haven't you?

7:13:12 > 7:13:16- Which is very exciting, so I've heard.- Yes. Very different again.

7:13:16 > 7:13:19- We'll do a bit of psychological magic.- OK.

7:13:19 > 7:13:22- With my invisible deck of cards. Catch those!- Thank you.

7:13:22 > 7:13:26- I've got them.- That was a close call.- I caught them, don't worry.

7:13:26 > 7:13:30- Shuffle the deck for me.- Take them out the box first, yeah?

7:13:30 > 7:13:34- Barney...- What? I'm playing.- Don't be cheeky.- OK, shuffling... Hey!

7:13:34 > 7:13:36Come on!

7:13:36 > 7:13:41- OK, they're shuffled.- Upstaged by a mime! OK, fan the cards out.

7:13:41 > 7:13:46- Fanning them out. Oops, sorry. I dropped one.- Barney!

7:13:46 > 7:13:50- You're being naughty!- OK, fanned out...- So, I just pick one?

7:13:50 > 7:13:52- Any one you want. - I'm going to go with this one here.

7:13:52 > 7:13:55OK, have a look at your card. Think of any card.

7:13:55 > 7:13:58- But there's no joker in the deck. But any other card.- Mm-hm.

7:13:58 > 7:14:01- Have you got one in mind? - Mm-hm.- Good. Place your card

7:14:01 > 7:14:05face down into the pack, so yours is the only face-down card in the deck.

7:14:05 > 7:14:08- OK.- Barney, what I want you to do is shuffle those cards for me.

7:14:08 > 7:14:13- Shuffle away. - Don't show off again.

7:14:13 > 7:14:16Awesome. So glad I chose you.

7:14:16 > 7:14:20- And throw the cards to me as fast as you can.- Throw them at you?

7:14:20 > 7:14:23- The whole pack. There they are! - Whoa!

7:14:23 > 7:14:25I keep forgetting about that bit.

7:14:25 > 7:14:29That was amazing. I want one of those. How do you do the fire thing?

7:14:29 > 7:14:33- All right, so you've been thinking of a card.- Yeah.

7:14:33 > 7:14:36Now, you never took a card. You literally just thought of one.

7:14:36 > 7:14:38And it should be the only upside-down one in the deck.

7:14:38 > 7:14:40No! Stop it!

7:14:40 > 7:14:42So, for the first time, so, Barney knows, as well,

7:14:42 > 7:14:46- what was the card you literally just thought of?- Seven of spades.

7:14:46 > 7:14:50Seven of spades. OK, I'm going to do this really, really slowly.

7:14:50 > 7:14:53- So you can see absolutely everything.- You've got to be joking!

7:14:53 > 7:14:56No sleight of hand or anything like that.

7:14:56 > 7:14:59- All the cards really are face upwards.- Yeah...

7:14:59 > 7:15:05- One card is actually... What was the card again?- Seven of spades.

7:15:05 > 7:15:09- Yeah, there's one card I keep reversed here.- No, stop it!

7:15:09 > 7:15:12Would you just reach in there? You have got to be joking!

7:15:12 > 7:15:15- Oh, my goodness! - CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

7:15:15 > 7:15:18- That's impressive, isn't it? - Ali, you're amazing!

7:15:18 > 7:15:21We have got one huge trick later in the show, as well, haven't you?

7:15:21 > 7:15:24Yep, we're going to do an amazing stage illusion

7:15:24 > 7:15:26using that crazy box over there.

7:15:26 > 7:15:30For now, though, a huge round of applause for Ali Cook.

7:15:30 > 7:15:33Isn't he awesome? CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

7:15:33 > 7:15:36Magic is so cool. I wish we could do it.

7:15:36 > 7:15:38But now something a little bit different.

7:15:38 > 7:15:40Because, as you may know, Danger Mouse is back.

7:15:40 > 7:15:44It's on CBBC and about a year ago, I was lucky enough to get a part

7:15:44 > 7:15:47written in for me. This is one of my favourite Blue Peter films ever.

7:15:47 > 7:15:49Have a look!

7:15:49 > 7:15:51Yes, it's me, Danger Mouse.

7:15:51 > 7:15:53This daredevil mouse is a top-notch secret agent,

7:15:53 > 7:15:59- whose mission is to save the world from evil.- I shall rule ze world!

7:15:59 > 7:16:02Last year, along with his trusty sidekick, Penfold...

7:16:02 > 7:16:05- Hee-hee-hee!- ..Danger Mouse returned

7:16:05 > 7:16:07to our screens after almost 25 years.

7:16:07 > 7:16:09THEY LAUGH

7:16:09 > 7:16:12But where do you start when you're bringing an animation to life?

7:16:12 > 7:16:14With pencils, paper and a nifty sketch?

7:16:14 > 7:16:16Well, actually, no.

7:16:16 > 7:16:19First, you start with the voices, and that's where I come in.

7:16:19 > 7:16:21Because today, I'm playing a part that's been

7:16:21 > 7:16:24especially created for me. I'm a bit nervous,

7:16:24 > 7:16:25so I think I need a few pointers.

7:16:25 > 7:16:29All I know is that I'm going to be playing an evil American lizard,

7:16:29 > 7:16:31called Hissteria.

7:16:31 > 7:16:35And who better to help me get into character than Alexander Armstrong

7:16:35 > 7:16:38and Kevin Eldon - the actors who played Danger Mouse and Penfold?

7:16:38 > 7:16:41Tell me a little bit about your characters.

7:16:41 > 7:16:43Danger Mouse is a sort of... He's a bit of a sort of James Bond,

7:16:43 > 7:16:46slightly superhero character. He's a bit annoying.

7:16:46 > 7:16:50- Hm, it all looks a little easy. - Penfold is his sidekick.

7:16:50 > 7:16:55He's a little hamster. He's quite a scared little, you know, coward.

7:16:55 > 7:16:59- You?! Invented a time machine?! - So, I'm playing a character today.

7:16:59 > 7:17:01Have you got any top tips for me?

7:17:01 > 7:17:04You've got to just think evil, think lizard. And you'll be there.

7:17:04 > 7:17:05Wish me luck!

7:17:05 > 7:17:09But before I do any recording, the show's voice director, Simon,

7:17:09 > 7:17:13wants to see me. OK, so tell me a bit about my character, Hissteria.

7:17:13 > 7:17:17- What's she like?- OK, so, Hissteria is a super villain.- Ah, OK.

7:17:17 > 7:17:19Not just a villain. A super villain.

7:17:19 > 7:17:23In my head, she's kind of green and squinty and kind of...

7:17:23 > 7:17:26Yeah, so if you can just pull that face, like a mask, OK,

7:17:26 > 7:17:29- what does your voice sound like? - A low one like this.- I like it!

7:17:29 > 7:17:32- That's good!- So, this is it.

7:17:32 > 7:17:35One final look through the script and I'm ready.

7:17:35 > 7:17:39- So, really, really go for it.- OK. Enjoy your certain death!

7:17:39 > 7:17:42- Were going to do it again. - Enjoy your certain death!

7:17:42 > 7:17:44You really want to ramp it up.

7:17:44 > 7:17:49Simon is really pushing me to get the performance right.

7:17:49 > 7:17:53- But can I deliver?- No, one more time, please.- All hail Hydrant!

7:17:53 > 7:17:55- Just put the T on the end of hydrant.- All hail HYDRANT!

7:17:55 > 7:17:59- HE LAUGHS - That was really nice!

7:17:59 > 7:18:01I'm exhausted!

7:18:01 > 7:18:04You've really got to use your body and your breath

7:18:04 > 7:18:08and it can really tire you out. But you found the character.

7:18:08 > 7:18:12- And it sounded like she should sound.- Yes! I'm an evil lizard!

7:18:12 > 7:18:16- You're an evil lizard. - So, that's the voice of Hissteria

7:18:16 > 7:18:19officially recorded and I cannot wait to see

7:18:19 > 7:18:21what she's going to look like.

7:18:21 > 7:18:24To find that out, I've travelled to Dublin, where the

7:18:24 > 7:18:26Danger Mouse characters come to life.

7:18:27 > 7:18:30Rob is the creative director of the show

7:18:30 > 7:18:33and he's been working on my character, Hissteria.

7:18:33 > 7:18:37- How is she looking? Can I have a little peek?- Of course you can.

7:18:37 > 7:18:40- That's me! - It is indeed.- That's so cool!

7:18:40 > 7:18:44She is me because she's got really short legs and red hair!

7:18:44 > 7:18:47- HE LAUGHS - What do you reckon? Good likeness?

7:18:47 > 7:18:50It's not just Rob who designs the animation.

7:18:50 > 7:18:55Up to 45 people at a time can be involved in making a single episode.

7:18:55 > 7:18:58So it's only fair I give them a helping hand.

7:18:58 > 7:19:00First up, creating the backgrounds.

7:19:00 > 7:19:04- We've got some buildings here that need to be added in...- OK.

7:19:04 > 7:19:08It's really hard to use this pen. Oh! Buildings!

7:19:08 > 7:19:09A lamppost! There it is.

7:19:09 > 7:19:13Next, bringing the characters to life. What's an angry eyebrow?

7:19:13 > 7:19:16To be honest, I'm not really sure

7:19:16 > 7:19:19if I'm helping or slowing down the process.

7:19:19 > 7:19:22And, as it can take a whole day to make just one scene,

7:19:22 > 7:19:23I'll leave them to it.

7:19:23 > 7:19:26But here's just a quick look at my character, Hissteria.

7:19:26 > 7:19:29Everyone's evil ideas will be afforded a space in the coming

7:19:29 > 7:19:31apocalypse, OK?

7:19:31 > 7:19:34Sometimes I think having 17 megalomaniacs in one evil

7:19:34 > 7:19:37supergroup is just nuts, you know?

7:19:37 > 7:19:39Anyhoo... Enjoy your certain death!

7:19:41 > 7:19:43I'm sorry, but she's quite a cool villain, isn't she?

7:19:43 > 7:19:45She's actually really cool.

7:19:45 > 7:19:48That was honestly one of my favourite Blue Peter films ever.

7:19:48 > 7:19:51- It's you in real life, though, isn't it, a little bit?- Stop it!

7:19:51 > 7:19:54- You're a scary frog, Lindsey. - She's not a frog, she's a lizard!

7:19:54 > 7:19:57- Yes, that's what I said. - Anyway, from your amazing animation

7:19:57 > 7:19:59onto this week's Big Badge Wall. It's looking so colourful,

7:19:59 > 7:20:02so creative. It's jam-packed as well, isn't it?

7:20:02 > 7:20:03I love things that are jam-packed.

7:20:03 > 7:20:06We love your 3D artwork - stuff that jumps out the page.

7:20:06 > 7:20:08Not literally - that would be well scary.

7:20:08 > 7:20:10But this one by Molly from Hertfordshire is awesome.

7:20:10 > 7:20:12Look, it's a velodrome that spins round.

7:20:12 > 7:20:14- And me and Radzi spin around with it.- That's so good!

7:20:14 > 7:20:16There is Sir Chris Hoy.

7:20:16 > 7:20:19And if you look in the middle there, you'll see it's all about the badge.

7:20:19 > 7:20:22- Thank you very much, Molly. You're a genius.- Barney?- Yes?

7:20:22 > 7:20:24You will absolutely love this.

7:20:24 > 7:20:26A 3D post and it's from Sydney in Wiltshire and it's me.

7:20:26 > 7:20:29I've got little feathers and I'm dressed up as a flamingo.

7:20:29 > 7:20:32And I've stolen your catchphrase. I'm saying, "I want one!"

7:20:32 > 7:20:35- You can have it.- And then you've got your spider up there, as well.

7:20:35 > 7:20:37- Amazing. Thank you so much! - You're a genius.

7:20:37 > 7:20:39Marny has drawn this 3D picture.

7:20:39 > 7:20:41It's me with my new press shot here, as you can see.

7:20:41 > 7:20:43And a very nice, bouncy pancake on the outside of it.

7:20:43 > 7:20:46That's to celebrate the race that I did... It's awesome.

7:20:46 > 7:20:48Thank you so much. There are so many badges to collect.

7:20:48 > 7:20:52If you have yours already, why not go for a different colour?

7:20:52 > 7:20:55All the details are on the website. Check it out. Get involved, please.

7:20:55 > 7:20:58And while you're on the website, why not get involved for Sport Relief?

7:21:10 > 7:21:13Now let's find out which books have made the Best Book With Facts

7:21:13 > 7:21:15shortlist for our Blue Peter Book Awards 2016.

7:21:15 > 7:21:17Roll it...

7:21:19 > 7:21:21It's the Blue Peter Book Awards, 2016.

7:21:21 > 7:21:23These are the people that picked the page-turners.

7:21:23 > 7:21:26- ALL:- Hi!

7:21:26 > 7:21:28They've been reading all six on the shortlist

7:21:28 > 7:21:32and we want their thoughts on the three fact books.

7:21:32 > 7:21:35First up is The Epic Book Of Epicness.

7:21:35 > 7:21:38What weight in insects does the average person accidentally

7:21:38 > 7:21:42swallow in a year? What the world's favourite colour? How many days

7:21:42 > 7:21:45can an albatross keep flying without flapping its wings?

7:21:45 > 7:21:47If you need the answers to tackle teasers like these,

7:21:47 > 7:21:51The Epic Book Of Epicness by Adam Frost is the book for you.

7:21:51 > 7:21:54The info is quirky and the pictures are perky.

7:21:54 > 7:21:56It makes people laugh

7:21:56 > 7:21:59and most people who read it agree with me, as well.

7:21:59 > 7:22:02When I first saw this book, it looked really appealing

7:22:02 > 7:22:04because green is my favourite colour.

7:22:04 > 7:22:06It's got like all these weird pictures on it,

7:22:06 > 7:22:08of, like, aliens and zombies.

7:22:08 > 7:22:13The book is laid out like cartoony and weird, like, styles of writing.

7:22:13 > 7:22:15It makes it really fun to read

7:22:15 > 7:22:19because the way they've written it and laid it out.

7:22:19 > 7:22:22I didn't like this book because it has more pictures than words

7:22:22 > 7:22:26- and they got me a bit confused. - You should read it!

7:22:26 > 7:22:27My favourite book.

7:22:27 > 7:22:30- It's epic! - Time for our second book of facts.

7:22:32 > 7:22:35Fact Feed, The Ultimate Book Of Randomly Awesome Trivia,

7:22:35 > 7:22:37dishes you the details.

7:22:37 > 7:22:41Penelope Arlon serves up a square meal of tasty trivia about science,

7:22:41 > 7:22:43animals, plants and the way the world works.

7:22:43 > 7:22:46Plus, you can stuff yourself and your mates full with

7:22:46 > 7:22:50quizzes about incredible adventures, chemicals and volcanoes.

7:22:50 > 7:22:53This is my favourite book because it's got lots of quizzes in

7:22:53 > 7:22:55and it's got lots of photos.

7:22:55 > 7:23:00All the quizzes and facts, they show many different emotions -

7:23:00 > 7:23:04they can make you laugh, they can make you feel sick,

7:23:04 > 7:23:07- they can make you a bit sad. - When I read it, it was awesome.

7:23:07 > 7:23:10But there's too much pictures - I don't like reading from pictures.

7:23:10 > 7:23:14The most surprising thing in the book is that there is a

7:23:14 > 7:23:19poison called arsenic in brown rice and apple juice.

7:23:19 > 7:23:23- But only a tiny amount. - Fact Feed. Mm-mm!

7:23:23 > 7:23:27Last on the taster menu, The Silly Book Of Weird And Wacky Words.

7:23:27 > 7:23:31Most books have words, but The Silly Book Of Weird And Wacky Words

7:23:31 > 7:23:34by Andy Seed and Scott Garrett is all about limericks,

7:23:34 > 7:23:36daft song titles and freaky phrases.

7:23:36 > 7:23:39It's chock-a-block with riddles, rhymes, tongue twisters,

7:23:39 > 7:23:42piles of puns and jam-packed with spoonerisms.

7:23:42 > 7:23:45So, you can LUMBLE up your JETTERS. I mean JUMBLE up your LETTERS!

7:23:45 > 7:23:49What I liked about the book is all the jokes and riddles

7:23:49 > 7:23:52and word combinations they use. It's really funny.

7:23:52 > 7:23:55I think it's the funniest book out of all of them.

7:23:55 > 7:23:57But not as interesting, out of all of them.

7:23:57 > 7:24:01I went home with this book and I challenged my brother

7:24:01 > 7:24:04and we could see who can say these tongue twisters the fastest.

7:24:04 > 7:24:07The dung beetle bled black blood...

7:24:07 > 7:24:10Doctor, Doctor, I think I'm a pirate.

7:24:10 > 7:24:13OK, open your mouth and say, "Aarrr!"

7:24:13 > 7:24:17- What do you call a woman with a pond on her head?- Lily!

7:24:17 > 7:24:19THEY LAUGH

7:24:19 > 7:24:25- I actually read it three times.- It's tongue-twister-tastic!- It's silly.

7:24:25 > 7:24:28So, those are the three fact books. Time for us all to...

7:24:28 > 7:24:31- ALL:- Get reading!

7:24:31 > 7:24:33Yes, get reading.

7:24:33 > 7:24:35We know you're very excited about the Blue Peter Book Awards.

7:24:35 > 7:24:38And also excited about dressing Radzi up. Aren't we all?

7:24:38 > 7:24:41Let's take a look at your three choices - you've got to get involved

7:24:41 > 7:24:44with these. You can actually make him dress up as Harry Potter,

7:24:44 > 7:24:47Where's Wally? or Paddington Bear. Get online and vote right now.

7:24:47 > 7:24:50Now, though, something spectacular. Never seen on UK TV before.

7:24:50 > 7:24:54It's the amazing, the sensational Ali Cook.

7:24:54 > 7:24:57All right!

7:24:57 > 7:24:59I'm going to show you my version of the ancient

7:24:59 > 7:25:01Japanese puzzle box illusion.

7:25:01 > 7:25:03In the traditional version, the old

7:25:03 > 7:25:06magician would form a box out of some blinds, like this.

7:25:06 > 7:25:10He would then ask his eldest daughter to get inside.

7:25:10 > 7:25:12He would then take some sticks, shove them all the way through

7:25:12 > 7:25:16the box, take them out again and hopefully, she was still alive.

7:25:16 > 7:25:18The theory being that while inside the box,

7:25:18 > 7:25:21she was actually transported to the heavens.

7:25:21 > 7:25:25I don't know whether I can transport anybody to another dimension

7:25:25 > 7:25:26this afternoon.

7:25:26 > 7:25:30However, I am going to take a girl and poke her with loads of sticks.

7:25:32 > 7:25:36MUSIC: Take Me Out, by Franz Ferdinand.

7:26:46 > 7:26:51CHEERING

7:28:01 > 7:28:04- the TARDIS, so it's actually massive but looks tiny." Nice.- I like that.

7:28:04 > 7:28:09Fire Opal Baking Puppy says, "I would make stuff move with my eyes."

7:28:09 > 7:28:12- That's like Matilda, you know, when she does the whole thing...- Yeah.
