0:01:30 > 0:01:32Get involved. Get online!

0:01:50 > 0:01:52Oh, my goodness! What a weekend.
0:01:52 > 0:01:55Always the biggest weekend on the calendar for me.
0:01:55 > 0:01:56I'll start backwards, if I may, Radzi.
0:01:56 > 0:02:00Because on the Sunday, we've got the Sport Relief Games.
0:02:00 > 0:02:02And we're asking kids and everyone around the country
0:02:02 > 0:02:04to do themselves proud.
0:02:04 > 0:02:06We're asking them to swim, cycle, walk or run.
0:02:06 > 0:02:09Anything they can do, do themselves proud.
0:02:09 > 0:02:11On Sunday in the Sport Relief Games
0:02:11 > 0:02:14there are thousands of events all over the country, quite literally.
0:02:14 > 0:02:16We're asking people to grab a grown-up,
0:02:16 > 0:02:17get themselves down there on Sunday.
0:02:17 > 0:02:21Before that, Friday, so tomorrow night, is the night of TV.
0:02:21 > 0:02:23Always one of the best nights of telly.
0:02:23 > 0:02:25So it's live here in the Queen Elizabeth Park,
0:02:25 > 0:02:28from seven o'clock on BBC One.
0:02:28 > 0:02:32And we've roped in so many celebrities to do sketches and
0:02:32 > 0:02:35- performances. The likes of footballer Rio Ferdinand...- Legend.
0:02:35 > 0:02:38..there's going to be Louis Smith, gymnast, you know him very well.
0:02:38 > 0:02:41- Yes.- Who else? Boxer David Haye.
0:02:41 > 0:02:44So, everybody getting involved for what is always
0:02:44 > 0:02:45- an epic evening.- I cannot wait.
0:02:45 > 0:02:47And I also can't wait for Clash of the Titans.
0:02:47 > 0:02:50Happening - in fact, they are setting up as we speak.
0:02:50 > 0:02:51Yes, they are doing it right now.
0:02:51 > 0:02:53Clash of the Titans 2016 is back for another year.
0:02:53 > 0:02:57- You're co-hosting!- Thank you, mate. Thank you for making that point.
0:02:57 > 0:03:01I'll be there. Myself and Dan Walker will be in the velodrome here
0:03:01 > 0:03:04and also the London Aquatics Centre as well. Bringing it together.
0:03:04 > 0:03:08We have two teams, led by sporting royalty. You'll know their names.
0:03:08 > 0:03:11- OK.- Freddie Flintoff, can we get a whoop, anyone?- Woo!
0:03:11 > 0:03:16- Sir Steve Redgrave.- Woo!- Oh, yeah, he won some medals once upon a time.
0:03:16 > 0:03:20So those two are leading teams of celebrities and sporting stars
0:03:20 > 0:03:24in some huge events. So, if anyone watched Clash of the Titans 2014...
0:03:24 > 0:03:27- Absolutely.- ..we saw rhythmic gymnastics, that was the big one,
0:03:27 > 0:03:29- track cycling...- Yes.
0:03:29 > 0:03:33- We have upped the ante for 2016.- OK. - We've got WRESTLING!- Do we really?
0:03:33 > 0:03:36We've got wrestling, people. So that's happening,
0:03:36 > 0:03:37- that's got you excited.- It has.
0:03:37 > 0:03:39Veins pumped up and everything, mate.
0:03:39 > 0:03:41We've also got a team triathlon.
0:03:41 > 0:03:45So to finish the whole event, we've got athletes running
0:03:45 > 0:03:48right around the Olympic site, finishing in the Aquatics Centre.
0:03:48 > 0:03:50It will be tense, competitive, it will be awesome.
0:03:50 > 0:03:52Let's talk about YOUR Sport Relief challenge,
0:03:52 > 0:03:55- which was with The One Show. - Do we have to?- We do!
0:03:55 > 0:03:58- I've just about got over that one, Radz!- How was it? What was it?
0:03:58 > 0:03:59Well, it was quite epic.
0:03:59 > 0:04:01It was called the Hell On High Seas challenge.
0:04:01 > 0:04:06Myself and a bunch of celebrities sailed from Belfast round to London,
0:04:06 > 0:04:10and while sailing on a yacht might see like quite an easy adventure,
0:04:10 > 0:04:13- it was anything but.- OK.
0:04:13 > 0:04:16It was a racing yacht that sailed all around the world, actually.
0:04:16 > 0:04:18We got hold of it for five days.
0:04:18 > 0:04:21Basically the boat goes at a 45-degree angle, like that.
0:04:21 > 0:04:25- So we were having to exist for five days like that.- Seasickness?
0:04:25 > 0:04:27I may have done a sick...
0:04:27 > 0:04:30I may have done three sicks, Radzi.
0:04:30 > 0:04:32It was really, really hard.
0:04:32 > 0:04:35Yeah, because this yacht is not built for comfort.
0:04:35 > 0:04:38So it's not a cruise liner, this one. There is nothing.
0:04:38 > 0:04:40It's stripped back, it's just for racing, just for going fast.
0:04:40 > 0:04:43And, yeah, there's no comfort at all.
0:04:43 > 0:04:46But even just trying to put anything on, you're doing it like this...
0:04:46 > 0:04:49- Absolutely.- So, it was really hard and intense.
0:04:49 > 0:04:51- But all for a fantastic cause, Sport Relief?- Completely.
0:04:51 > 0:04:54We raised a load of money, which we're so proud of
0:04:54 > 0:04:58and all for Sport Relief, all for so many people that
0:04:58 > 0:05:01deserve it and need the money around the UK and round the world as well.
0:05:01 > 0:05:04That's what we all do Sport Relief for. That's what this is all about.
0:05:04 > 0:05:06Getting people out there, getting involved...
0:05:06 > 0:05:08Couldn't say it better myself.
0:05:08 > 0:05:11Also, raising huge amounts of cash for the people that need it.
0:05:11 > 0:05:13Talking about the important work Sport Relief does,
0:05:13 > 0:05:16here is just some of it, and Barney found out how.
0:05:19 > 0:05:22This year Sport Relief has made some special films in Bangladesh,
0:05:22 > 0:05:25to show YOU how they're changing lives.
0:05:25 > 0:05:28Barney took them into one school to watch and find out how the money
0:05:28 > 0:05:31you raise can make a difference.
0:05:31 > 0:05:33- Ready to watch some clips?- Yeah!
0:05:33 > 0:05:37OK. Our first story's about Russell. He sleeps on the streets.
0:05:37 > 0:05:39Have a look and see what you think.
0:05:39 > 0:05:41My name is Russell.
0:05:41 > 0:05:45I live in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
0:05:45 > 0:05:47My mum left home and then my dad did too,
0:05:47 > 0:05:51so I came to Dhaka city to look for a new life.
0:05:51 > 0:05:54Things didn't turn out how I thought they would
0:05:54 > 0:05:56and now I live on the streets.
0:05:56 > 0:05:58I work as a litter picker, collecting rubbish to sell.
0:05:58 > 0:06:01This is his life. This is what he does every single day.
0:06:01 > 0:06:05If I don't work, I don't have any money to buy food.
0:06:05 > 0:06:08Sometimes, I cut myself on glass and broken bottles.
0:06:08 > 0:06:11It's really hard for him because he doesn't have any money
0:06:11 > 0:06:14and he can't take care of himself properly.
0:06:14 > 0:06:17It's like, really bad, because they don't have to just pick up litter,
0:06:17 > 0:06:20- they have got to pick up glass... - Pretty dangerous stuff.- Yeah.
0:06:20 > 0:06:23I usually sleep up on the roof, where nobody can see me,
0:06:23 > 0:06:25so I feel safe.
0:06:25 > 0:06:29We lie down on a sack, using it like a mat.
0:06:29 > 0:06:31I would really like to sleep with a pillow
0:06:31 > 0:06:33and a mattress made of cotton.
0:06:33 > 0:06:37All he wants is a pillow and a cotton mattress.
0:06:37 > 0:06:40And that's what most people in the world have.
0:06:40 > 0:06:43He's dreaming of something little whilst everybody else's dream
0:06:43 > 0:06:46is to have the fastest sports car in the world.
0:06:48 > 0:06:50But thanks to the money raised by Sport Relief, Russell is now
0:06:50 > 0:06:53able to sleep in a centre which is safe and comfortable.
0:06:53 > 0:06:55Going to the centre, it's peace.
0:06:55 > 0:06:59I just grab a pillow and put my head down and fall asleep.
0:06:59 > 0:07:01It's so comfortable.
0:07:01 > 0:07:04Even though they didn't have a good past,
0:07:04 > 0:07:08Sport Relief will make it a good future.
0:07:08 > 0:07:10Thank you!
0:07:10 > 0:07:12We're now going to meet Champa.
0:07:12 > 0:07:15Champa has to collect litter so that she can eat. Here we go.
0:07:15 > 0:07:18My dad was a rickshaw puller.
0:07:18 > 0:07:21But when I was two years old, he died.
0:07:21 > 0:07:23Now we don't have much money.
0:07:23 > 0:07:27So I have to work to help my family survive.
0:07:27 > 0:07:31I work as a litter picker, with my little brother.
0:07:32 > 0:07:35She's got a lot on her shoulders for a ten-year-old, that's for sure.
0:07:35 > 0:07:39If I was like other kids, I would have more time to play
0:07:39 > 0:07:43and go to school. But unlike them, I can't afford it.
0:07:43 > 0:07:46It's not fair that she should have to be litter picking,
0:07:46 > 0:07:48when we can be here with our friends.
0:07:48 > 0:07:52I don't like working, and if I spent my time studying,
0:07:52 > 0:07:53I could do much better.
0:07:53 > 0:07:56If you were to change something about Champa's life,
0:07:56 > 0:07:58what would you change?
0:07:58 > 0:08:02So she could be safe every day. So people don't hurt her.
0:08:03 > 0:08:06But there IS a place Champa can go
0:08:06 > 0:08:09where she can be just like any other child.
0:08:09 > 0:08:12This special centre is funded by Sport Relief.
0:08:12 > 0:08:15It allows her to get an education and learn to dance.
0:08:17 > 0:08:23They've given her, like, one wish that she wanted her whole life.
0:08:23 > 0:08:25Now, the centre has arranged for me
0:08:25 > 0:08:29to go to a proper school where I can really learn things.
0:08:29 > 0:08:31I love to read and study.
0:08:31 > 0:08:36And by doing this, one day I hope to go on to do something really good.
0:08:36 > 0:08:39It's good that they made Sport Relief,
0:08:39 > 0:08:42because they could have a better life and better future.
0:08:42 > 0:08:44- Thank you!- Thank you!
0:08:44 > 0:08:45So I think it's fair to say
0:08:45 > 0:08:48- it's really important we raise money for Sport Relief. Yes?- Yeah!
0:08:48 > 0:08:51Well, it's something you know all about at home
0:08:51 > 0:08:54because you've been designing your very own Sport Relief sweaty socks.
0:08:54 > 0:08:56I think it's only right, after what we've seen today,
0:08:56 > 0:08:59- that we get involved and make our own sweaty socks.- Yeah!- Let's do it!
0:09:05 > 0:09:06Glue!
0:09:11 > 0:09:16- ALL:- Make your socks sweaty for Sport Relief!
0:09:17 > 0:09:20Now, all the voices you heard there in Bangladesh were actors.
0:09:20 > 0:09:23But it's so brilliant to know that people like Russell, even though
0:09:23 > 0:09:26he's sleeping on the streets, he's got somewhere really
0:09:26 > 0:09:28safe that he can go during the day.
0:09:28 > 0:09:30And that is all thank you to Sport Relief.
0:09:30 > 0:09:32Speaking of which,
0:09:32 > 0:09:36we have loved receiving all your brilliant sweaty socks this year.
0:09:36 > 0:09:39You've been letting us know what you're up to for
0:09:39 > 0:09:43Sport Relief 2016 and it's all about getting involved and having a go.
0:09:43 > 0:09:45Thank you for sending those in.
0:09:45 > 0:09:49We've had them from all the way up here at the top of our sweaty
0:09:49 > 0:09:53map there, in Inverness, all the way down here to the Isle of Wight.
0:09:53 > 0:09:55So thank you to everyone who's got involved,
0:09:55 > 0:09:58and I can reveal we've had a whopping
0:09:58 > 0:10:024,149 sweaty socks!
0:10:02 > 0:10:06I think that's brilliant! So I think we need to celebrate that.
0:10:06 > 0:10:09And here's how we're going to do it...
0:10:09 > 0:10:13Thousands of you have sent in your sweaty socks. These are just a few.
0:10:13 > 0:10:16There has been an unbelievable effort.
0:10:16 > 0:10:21To get across to you just what that looks like, I've had an idea...
0:10:21 > 0:10:25I get a bit worried when Radz has an idea.
0:10:25 > 0:10:28But this could be SOCK-tacular!
0:10:28 > 0:10:31If he and the rest of the Blue Peter team can lay down your sweaty socks
0:10:31 > 0:10:36around this 200 metre athletics track eight times,
0:10:36 > 0:10:38that would stretch a whole Sport Relief mile.
0:10:38 > 0:10:41I'm not going to tell anyone else this.
0:10:41 > 0:10:43But I'm not sure if we've got enough socks!
0:10:47 > 0:10:50And that...
0:10:50 > 0:10:52We're done!
0:10:53 > 0:10:55Would you look at that!
0:10:55 > 0:10:59A magnificent mile of your sweaty socks for Sport Relief.
0:10:59 > 0:11:03What an effort from you guys. Well done!
0:11:03 > 0:11:08Yes, well done to each and every single one of you who sent in
0:11:08 > 0:11:10a sweaty sock for Sport Relief.
0:11:10 > 0:11:12- Good luck with the fundraising as well!- That's right.
0:11:12 > 0:11:16Speaking of Sport Relief, if you just cannot get enough - we can't -
0:11:16 > 0:11:18you need to head online to the Blue Peter website,
0:11:18 > 0:11:21where you'll find a lovely game called Geo's Gym.
0:11:21 > 0:11:25It's our Sport Relief 2016 game. You can see Lawson having a go there.
0:11:25 > 0:11:29They were OK - not quite as good as Trevor and Lamar.
0:11:29 > 0:11:31- Look at them, top of the leaderboard!- Wow!
0:11:31 > 0:11:32Thousands of points!
0:11:32 > 0:11:36- Radzi, I think we're at the bottom. - I think we're stone-cold last.
0:11:36 > 0:11:38Why not check out Barney's game,
0:11:38 > 0:11:41where you have to guess which sport he is acting out.
0:11:41 > 0:11:44- Looks like he's just got a headache. - He's slapping his head and pointing.
0:11:44 > 0:11:46I have no idea. We would be bottom of that one.
0:11:46 > 0:11:49You may have watched in the last few weeks
0:11:49 > 0:11:51and you may have been loving my Wave Runner challenge.
0:11:51 > 0:11:55I know some of you have. Because look at this week's Big Badge Wall,
0:11:55 > 0:11:59covered in all of your fab Sport Relief posts. It is brilliant.
0:11:59 > 0:12:01Less sweaty than the socks.
0:12:01 > 0:12:04This has been sent in by Kaden, who's 7, from Cirencester.

0:12:24 > 0:12:26to make paddles. George, you're a genius!
0:12:26 > 0:12:28He thinks it rained on the challenge.
0:12:28 > 0:12:31I'm glad it didn't. That was the one bit of bad weather we didn't have.
0:12:31 > 0:12:33This one is brilliant.
0:12:33 > 0:12:35It's from Keira, who's 10, from Tamworth.

0:12:42 > 0:12:45And let's take a look at Susanna from Bishop Stortford,
0:12:45 > 0:12:48who's made this magnificent picture of Lindsey
0:12:48 > 0:12:51who's smiling away there, covered in bubble packaging.
0:12:51 > 0:12:54There she is inside her zorb. Well done, Susanna.
0:12:54 > 0:12:57I just want to take a minute to say thank you for all of this post.

0:13:15 > 0:13:18We had a go to see if we could be mini Wave Runners the other day.
0:13:18 > 0:13:22That is on the website - Radzi and I playing a fun game. You won it,
0:13:22 > 0:13:25I know you did. Check it out on the website. It's very good fun.
0:13:25 > 0:13:29And you can see me getting all my good luck messages before
0:13:29 > 0:13:31the Wave Runner challenge.
0:13:31 > 0:13:33- It's all Wave Runner today! - Rightfully so.
0:13:33 > 0:13:35I think we'd better do it...
0:13:35 > 0:13:40It's time for the final part of my epic Sport Relief challenge.
0:13:44 > 0:13:46Six months ago,
0:13:46 > 0:13:51I began my Sport Relief challenge to run across the Irish Sea.
0:13:51 > 0:13:53Working with a team of elite engineers,
0:13:53 > 0:13:56we created a unique machine.
0:13:56 > 0:13:59And I had to get fitter than I've ever been before.
0:13:59 > 0:14:01(I feel sick!)
0:14:02 > 0:14:05It's time to take on the sea.
0:14:05 > 0:14:08Can I become...the Wave Runner?
0:14:10 > 0:14:14So I am finally here in Donaghadee, in Northern Ireland.
0:14:14 > 0:14:17Pretty nervous - tomorrow is the biggest challenge of my life.
0:14:17 > 0:14:19There's loads still left to do, got to get the machine up,
0:14:19 > 0:14:23but I guess all that's left to say is, "Let's do this."
0:14:23 > 0:14:26As our engineers start preparations,
0:14:26 > 0:14:29I meet up with my mentor, Professor Greg Whyte.
0:14:31 > 0:14:34- So how you feeling, mate? - Really, really scared.
0:14:34 > 0:14:37It sounds obvious but I just feel terrified.
0:14:37 > 0:14:40What you've got to do now is get that mental self ready.
0:14:40 > 0:14:43- I've hit walls before with Blue Peter challenges.- Yeah.
0:14:43 > 0:14:47But all I remember is that feeling of, "I cannot go on."
0:14:47 > 0:14:49What you want to do is draw on that experience.
0:14:49 > 0:14:52The fact is you got to that point in the Patrouille des Glaciers,
0:14:52 > 0:14:55when you were doing that race, and you thought, "I cannot go on"
0:14:55 > 0:14:58and yet you did. In the marathon, when you think, "I can't go on,
0:14:58 > 0:15:01"I can't keep going" - but you DID.
0:15:01 > 0:15:03You know that if you keep pushing, you will be able to make it.
0:15:03 > 0:15:05Agh! I want YOU to do it, Greg.
0:15:05 > 0:15:07I'll be watching!
0:15:09 > 0:15:13The team gathers to finalise tomorrow's route across the sea.
0:15:13 > 0:15:17I can't travel in a straight line, so starting in Donaghadee,
0:15:17 > 0:15:20I'll head southeast to the centre of the Channel.
0:15:20 > 0:15:23Then, when the tide turns, I'll travel northeast
0:15:23 > 0:15:28towards Portpatrick. It's an estimated 28 miles.
0:15:28 > 0:15:29So, it's time for bed.
0:15:29 > 0:15:33Tomorrow is the biggest day of my life.
0:15:36 > 0:15:37This is it.
0:15:37 > 0:15:39My Wave Runner team have done THEIR job,
0:15:39 > 0:15:42and now it's time for me to do MINE.
0:15:48 > 0:15:51Welcome to my home for this challenge.
0:15:51 > 0:15:54Finally, it's time to get started.
0:15:54 > 0:15:55Here we go...
0:15:58 > 0:16:02Despite the fact it's dark, conditions are perfect.
0:16:02 > 0:16:04There's not a breath of wind in the air
0:16:04 > 0:16:07and I can feel myself really pushing through the water.
0:16:07 > 0:16:11- How you feeling? - Yeah, I'm OK. I'm calm.
0:16:11 > 0:16:14Brilliant, Lindsey! Fantastic!
0:16:14 > 0:16:16I'm feeling really strong.
0:16:16 > 0:16:18She is absolutely flying.
0:16:18 > 0:16:22I manage to cover 2.5 miles in my first hour.
0:16:22 > 0:16:26As the sun rises, the world wakes up to my Wave Runner challenge.
0:16:26 > 0:16:29Blue Peter presenter Lindsey Russell is planning to make
0:16:29 > 0:16:31the journey in nothing more than an inflatable ball.
0:16:31 > 0:16:33She's zorbing across the Irish Channel!
0:16:33 > 0:16:35Follow Lindsey's progress at bbc.co.uk...
0:16:35 > 0:16:38Thank you, and pass on our best wishes to Lindsey.
0:16:41 > 0:16:44For the next hour, I manage to ride the tide
0:16:44 > 0:16:48and force myself out into the Irish Sea. I have now covered four miles
0:16:48 > 0:16:51and I'm starting to find my rhythm.
0:16:51 > 0:16:52Oh!
0:16:54 > 0:16:56And all that hard work is already paying off,
0:16:56 > 0:17:00as I'm treated to the most stunning sunrise I've ever seen.
0:17:04 > 0:17:06This is beautiful!
0:17:07 > 0:17:11But it doesn't last long. I've still got a lot of work to do.
0:17:13 > 0:17:16Every hour I stop to take on fuel,
0:17:16 > 0:17:19which also gives Greg a chance to check on my health.
0:17:19 > 0:17:20Course is good, pace is good.
0:17:20 > 0:17:23It's just having to work that little bit harder to keep it,
0:17:23 > 0:17:25that's the difference, mate.
0:17:25 > 0:17:28But everything that goes in has to come out.
0:17:28 > 0:17:31So I've done a wee in my wet suit.
0:17:31 > 0:17:34OK. Too much information.
0:17:34 > 0:17:38After four hours, I've gone eight miles. But we have a problem...
0:17:41 > 0:17:45It feels like I'm in a balloon that's gone down a little bit.
0:17:45 > 0:17:48What it looks like is actually the zorb's deflating.
0:17:48 > 0:17:50If the ball keeps losing air
0:17:50 > 0:17:53it could put the whole challenge at risk.
0:17:53 > 0:17:56Our only option is to inflate the ball at sea.
0:17:56 > 0:17:59That's it! Better!
0:17:59 > 0:18:00Thankfully, it works.
0:18:03 > 0:18:07I'm now in my fifth hour. It's by far the longest time
0:18:07 > 0:18:10I've ever been in this ball, and I'm really starting to ache.
0:18:10 > 0:18:14But I keep remembering why I'm doing this. It's all for Sport Relief.
0:18:15 > 0:18:20Money that's raised by Sport Relief helps fund charities like Jigsaw.
0:18:20 > 0:18:22They run loads of sports sessions,
0:18:22 > 0:18:25especially for people with disabilities...
0:18:25 > 0:18:26Oh!
0:18:26 > 0:18:29..to help them get active and make friends.
0:18:29 > 0:18:32Coming here is really important because it gives me
0:18:32 > 0:18:35a chance to get out with people of my own age.
0:18:35 > 0:18:38The staff here at Jigsaw provide a really safe
0:18:38 > 0:18:42and a fun environment for all these swimmers.
0:18:42 > 0:18:43It's really good fun.
0:18:43 > 0:18:45It makes us very healthy and fit.
0:18:45 > 0:18:48This is just one of the ways
0:18:48 > 0:18:52the money you raise can make a real difference to people's lives.
0:18:52 > 0:18:55So do your bit and get involved, with Sport Relief.
0:18:57 > 0:19:02Well, she's 6.5 hours in, so about 13 miles done.
0:19:02 > 0:19:0524,000 uphill steps.
0:19:05 > 0:19:08This is where she starts to question whether she can make it or not.
0:19:08 > 0:19:12So, she's done a lot, but she's got an awful long way to go.
0:19:12 > 0:19:15The conditions have changed since this morning.
0:19:15 > 0:19:18The wind and waves are much stronger
0:19:18 > 0:19:21and I'm struggling to keep my balance...
0:19:21 > 0:19:23It's just pushing me over!
0:19:23 > 0:19:25It's pushing me to the left.
0:19:27 > 0:19:31This is so tough. But I've got to keep trying.
0:19:34 > 0:19:3915 miles in, and I've reached a critical moment in my journey.
0:19:39 > 0:19:42The tide is turning and should start pushing me
0:19:42 > 0:19:44towards my destination of Portpatrick.
0:19:45 > 0:19:48But over the next hour, the wind increases
0:19:48 > 0:19:50and the waves just get higher.
0:19:50 > 0:19:54It's taking all my strength to stay upright.
0:19:56 > 0:19:58Agh!
0:19:58 > 0:19:59I'm so frustrated.
0:19:59 > 0:20:02I know I have to beat these conditions to stay on track.
0:20:02 > 0:20:05It is too slippy!
0:20:05 > 0:20:07After 16 miles,
0:20:07 > 0:20:09Greg calls me in for a crisis talk.
0:20:09 > 0:20:12Your pace has been amazing from start to this point.
0:20:12 > 0:20:16But the problem is that those tides are just really quick today.
0:20:16 > 0:20:19And with the combination of that and the wind,
0:20:19 > 0:20:21it's just pushing you in the wrong direction.
0:20:21 > 0:20:24This is tough. Really, really tough.
0:20:24 > 0:20:26- OK?- Are just not going anywhere?
0:20:26 > 0:20:29No, we are, but we're going in the wrong direction.
0:20:29 > 0:20:30We're not going where we want to go. OK?
0:20:30 > 0:20:32This has got nothing to do with you.
0:20:33 > 0:20:37There's not many people as brave as you, let me tell you that.
0:20:40 > 0:20:44I'm running out of time. But I'm determined to get back on course.
0:20:46 > 0:20:50# I never thought I needed help before... #
0:20:50 > 0:20:52Pushing me around.
0:20:52 > 0:20:55The extra effort is agony.
0:20:55 > 0:20:58# Thought that I could get by by myself... #
0:20:58 > 0:21:00And the waves are impossible.
0:21:01 > 0:21:06# Now I know I just can't take it any more... #
0:21:06 > 0:21:08I manage one more mile.
0:21:08 > 0:21:09# And with a humble heart... #
0:21:09 > 0:21:12Then I hear the words I'm dreading.
0:21:14 > 0:21:16Greg tells me to stop.
0:21:18 > 0:21:21Come on, let's get you out. Let's get you out of there.
0:21:21 > 0:21:23Are you sure we can't just keep trying?
0:21:23 > 0:21:26Mate, the tide simply won't let you get to shore. That's the problem.
0:21:26 > 0:21:30It fundamentally becomes too dangerous to be out there.
0:21:30 > 0:21:32I can't believe it's over.
0:21:32 > 0:21:35I've been at sea for nine hours, but I have to accept
0:21:35 > 0:21:38that I can't make it to Scotland against the tide.
0:21:38 > 0:21:41I'm devastated.
0:21:42 > 0:21:46I did manage to walk 17 miles across the Irish Sea.
0:21:46 > 0:21:49But it just wasn't enough.
0:21:50 > 0:21:54As we head into Portpatrick, I'm feeling gutted.
0:21:54 > 0:21:57But then everything changes when I see a crowd.
0:21:57 > 0:21:58CROWD CHEERS
0:21:58 > 0:22:01- ALL:- Well done, Lindsey!
0:22:01 > 0:22:05The town has come to show their support and cheer me in.
0:22:05 > 0:22:07And right at the front is my dad.
0:22:07 > 0:22:10THEY CLAP AND CHEER
0:22:10 > 0:22:12Well done, you. So proud of you.
0:22:12 > 0:22:15This means the world to me.
0:22:17 > 0:22:20Thank you so much for coming! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
0:22:20 > 0:22:23This has been the toughest challenge of my life.
0:22:23 > 0:22:24Agh!
0:22:24 > 0:22:27And in the end, although I didn't quite make it,
0:22:27 > 0:22:32I'm so proud that I never, ever gave up.
0:22:32 > 0:22:36I hope it's inspired you to get involved for Sport Relief, and most
0:22:36 > 0:22:39importantly, I hope it's shown you it's just about having a go.
0:22:39 > 0:22:43It doesn't matter how you get to the finish line, just have a go.
0:22:43 > 0:22:44I need a hot bath!
0:22:49 > 0:22:51CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
0:22:51 > 0:22:53- Aw!- Linz...?- Yeah?
0:22:53 > 0:22:55I'm going to start things off by saying
0:22:55 > 0:22:58the thing I'm most proud of, Blue Peter, is what it stands for.
0:22:58 > 0:23:00So it stands for the badge.
0:23:00 > 0:23:02But another thing it stands for are the values.
0:23:02 > 0:23:04So perseverance, trying your best, determination.
0:23:04 > 0:23:07And what you've done there will leave every single viewer
0:23:07 > 0:23:10watching at home under no illusions or any doubt whatsoever
0:23:10 > 0:23:13- that you personify Blue Peter.- Yeah.
0:23:13 > 0:23:16And what you're trying to do is to inspire people
0:23:16 > 0:23:19to give something a go for Sport Relief. You gave something a go.
0:23:19 > 0:23:21And we are so, so proud of you. Can we please hear it
0:23:21 > 0:23:24for Lindsey Russell? CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
0:23:24 > 0:23:26Thank you. I don't know if we've got time
0:23:26 > 0:23:29but I just want to quickly say that it is all about giving it a go
0:23:29 > 0:23:31and to anyone who tries something and thinks,
0:23:31 > 0:23:34"I can't make it to the finish line," it doesn't matter.
0:23:34 > 0:23:37Just get to the start line, and you'll be really proud of yourself.
0:23:37 > 0:23:40As we are proud of you, Lindsey. We really are. And as a friend,
0:23:40 > 0:23:42not just as a presenter, as your friend, I'm really proud of you.
0:23:42 > 0:23:45I'm crying! Anyway, on this track behind me...
0:23:45 > 0:23:48Everyone's crying in the gallery as well! It's not helping.
0:23:48 > 0:23:50This track behind me has been the home of so many incredible
0:23:50 > 0:23:52sporting moments.
0:23:52 > 0:23:54Of course, Sir Chris Hoy got his gold medal here.
0:23:54 > 0:23:57Victoria Pendleton as well, and Dame Sarah Storey.
0:23:57 > 0:24:00Some true legends have all won gold here.
0:24:00 > 0:24:03As well as, you may remember a couple of weeks ago,
0:24:03 > 0:24:07Laura Trott was right here to win not one but two golds.
0:24:07 > 0:24:09She's an amazing, amazing woman.
0:24:09 > 0:24:13So now, I'm going to chat to another sporting legend.
0:24:13 > 0:24:16I'm just going to get rid of my tears and stop being emotional.
0:24:16 > 0:24:19Over here is CBBC's very own Mark Wright!
0:24:19 > 0:24:22- How you doing, Lindsey?- Are you good? I was before that VT, yeah.
0:24:22 > 0:24:25I'm doing all right. How are YOU feeling?
0:24:25 > 0:24:27Because in just a few hours, you've got to get that bike
0:24:27 > 0:24:28onto that track.
0:24:28 > 0:24:32- Yeah. Firstly I'm feeling extremely nervous...- Understandable.
0:24:32 > 0:24:35It's a nerve-racking thing, and I'm quite competitive as well
0:24:35 > 0:24:38- so I want to do well.- I was going to ask, are you competitive?
0:24:38 > 0:24:40Because you're in the elimination race -
0:24:40 > 0:24:42for those at home who don't know what that means, talk us through it.
0:24:42 > 0:24:46So basically it's six competitors,
0:24:46 > 0:24:48eight laps - every other lap,
0:24:48 > 0:24:51whoever crosses the line last is out.
0:24:51 > 0:24:53So basically it's a sprint from the start because
0:24:53 > 0:24:56after two laps they start eliminating people.
0:24:56 > 0:24:58- You don't want to be that first one out.- You don't.
0:24:58 > 0:25:01You can't be that first one, Mark. Do CBBC proud!
0:25:01 > 0:25:04And normally I'm quite confident when it comes to sports,
0:25:04 > 0:25:07but this one, I've seen the other guys and the competition is stiff.
0:25:07 > 0:25:09It's also a really hard sport. Getting on that velodrome -
0:25:09 > 0:25:12- I know it doesn't look very steep but it really is, isn't it?- Yeah.
0:25:12 > 0:25:14Who's on your team?
0:25:14 > 0:25:17So my team is the gorgeous Harry Judd,
0:25:17 > 0:25:19and our team captain is Freddie Flintoff,
0:25:19 > 0:25:21who actually won it last year
0:25:21 > 0:25:23so we've got an advantage there.
0:25:23 > 0:25:27The other team's Hugh Dennis, Olympian Steve Redgrave...
0:25:27 > 0:25:29Or should I say SIR Steve Redgrave,
0:25:29 > 0:25:31and comedian Hugh Dennis.
0:25:31 > 0:25:34- Wow. They're quite strong teams. - Yeah, I know.
0:25:34 > 0:25:35I can see why you're nervous now.
0:25:35 > 0:25:38No disrespect to someone like Steve, I thought I had,
0:25:38 > 0:25:41like, the age advantage on him being a few years younger
0:25:41 > 0:25:43but when I saw him out on that track, every time
0:25:43 > 0:25:48we were going to sprint during practice, he was faster every time.
0:25:48 > 0:25:49The man has got powerful legs!
0:25:49 > 0:25:52Well, listen, Mark, your legs are looking powerful too.
0:25:52 > 0:25:54- I think you're going to be all right.- Thank you.
0:25:54 > 0:25:57I'm going to send you on your bike. Give me your mic. Off you go.
0:25:57 > 0:25:59- Go and train.- See you later. - Do it for CBBC! See you later.
0:25:59 > 0:26:03Remember, you can watch Clash of the Titans
0:26:03 > 0:26:06tomorrow, BBC One, at 7:00pm. So make sure you're watching.
0:26:06 > 0:26:09And if you want to get involved this year for Sport Relief 2016,
0:26:09 > 0:26:13grab a grown-up and get down to the Sport Relief Games on Sunday.
0:26:13 > 0:26:18- Which we're going to, aren't we, Radz?- We are indeed.- Bye, Mark!
0:26:18 > 0:26:20He's out of here. On yer bike!
0:26:20 > 0:26:22He's ON his bike, you see, it's literal!
0:26:22 > 0:26:26At the start of the show we asked what you are doing for this year's
0:26:26 > 0:26:29Sport Relief tomorrow. Your comments have come flooding in.
0:26:29 > 0:26:32- Will you kick things off?- I will.
0:26:32 > 0:26:34Lime Quiet Snail - good name - says,
0:26:34 > 0:26:39"I'm going to attempt to run around "my garden 50 times in 40 minutes."
0:26:39 > 0:26:43- Yes!- I hope it's a small-ish garden, not like this velodrome.
0:26:43 > 0:26:45- Otherwise you're in trouble. - You'll be very tight.
0:26:45 > 0:26:47Or you're just really, really fit.
