6:01:42 > 6:01:44Yes, I've been doing it for ten years.
6:01:44 > 6:01:47- Yes, you have to do things a long time to get good, don't you?- Yes.
6:01:47 > 6:01:50So somebody watching who might want to have a go themselves, what would you say?
6:01:50 > 6:01:53- All you need is a ball, simple as that.- Certainly helps.
6:01:53 > 6:01:55Then try and learn the tricks and there's a new skills app
6:01:55 > 6:01:58- that's just about to come out, it's launching this summer.- Amazing.
6:01:58 > 6:02:02- Do you find that just as you're out of breath, somebody always asks you questions?- Yes!
6:02:02 > 6:02:06So let's talk about why you're here today. It's for something very special, isn't it?
6:02:06 > 6:02:09You are actually here to set, not break, but set a Guinness world record?
6:02:09 > 6:02:13And that is by doing ten Maradona sevens in under a minute.
6:02:13 > 6:02:16- So let's talk about the Maradona seven, what is that?- Yeah, it's difficult.
6:02:16 > 6:02:18So it's about kicking the ball with your left foot then your
6:02:18 > 6:02:22right foot, left knee, right knee, shoulder, shoulder, then head.
6:02:22 > 6:02:25Seven touches to the ball and that's ten.
6:02:25 > 6:02:27- Ten times? In under a minute?- Yeah. - OK.
6:02:27 > 6:02:30Well, I mean, we can prove how hard this is.
6:02:30 > 6:02:33Radzi is going to demonstrate now what a Maradona seven should look like.
6:02:33 > 6:02:37- This really is difficult.- OK, one, two, and then three... SMASH!!
6:02:37 > 6:02:40Oh! That was definitely the expensive one.
6:02:40 > 6:02:44So sorry! Um, OK, Andrew? For now, thank you very much.
6:02:44 > 6:02:46Get practising, can't wait to see you later!
6:02:46 > 6:02:48Radzi, you're in so much trouble. So much trouble.
6:02:48 > 6:02:51No-one noticed! I'm going to move on.
6:02:51 > 6:02:53So let's rewind to Saturday, when I got to celebrate
6:02:53 > 6:02:57the birthday of somebody rather special indeed. Sorry!
6:02:58 > 6:03:00Trooping the Colour,
6:03:00 > 6:03:03the official celebration of the Queen's birthday.
6:03:03 > 6:03:07Every year, thousands gather around Buckingham Palace to see
6:03:07 > 6:03:11Her Majesty's armed forces put on a spectacular parade.
6:03:17 > 6:03:20And this year marks the Queen's 90th birthday,
6:03:20 > 6:03:22so the celebrations are extra special.
6:03:27 > 6:03:31But while the streets around the palace are filled with colour,
6:03:31 > 6:03:34for the most breathtaking moment, you've got to look to the skies.
6:03:36 > 6:03:37It's tradition that every year,
6:03:37 > 6:03:41when the royal family make their way out on to the balcony of
6:03:41 > 6:03:45Buckingham Palace, they're greeted by a Royal Air Force fly-past.
6:03:48 > 6:03:50It is a mammoth operation
6:03:50 > 6:03:54and it takes a huge amount of planning and skill.
6:03:54 > 6:03:57And some pretty impressive aircraft.
6:03:58 > 6:04:03The 2016 Queen's Fly-past is made up of 29 of the finest in the
6:04:03 > 6:04:07RAF's fleet, specially assembled for the Queen's 90th birthday.
6:04:09 > 6:04:13In wave seven, just in front of the world famous Red Arrows,
6:04:13 > 6:04:15is the A330 Voyager.
6:04:18 > 6:04:22In fact, it'll be this A330 Voyager!
6:04:25 > 6:04:26And it's quite a plane.
6:04:26 > 6:04:31The Voyager is the largest aircraft the RAF has ever operated.
6:04:31 > 6:04:35Fully loaded, it can travel over 6,000 miles
6:04:35 > 6:04:38and do anything from carry cargo, passengers
6:04:38 > 6:04:42and even be a flying petrol station, refuelling other planes in mid air!
6:04:46 > 6:04:49But why am I stood underneath this,
6:04:49 > 6:04:54rather than the other 28 aircraft involved in the Queen's Fly-past?
6:04:54 > 6:04:58Well, that's because I'm going to be on board this one! Yes!
6:04:58 > 6:05:00That's right.
6:05:00 > 6:05:04The RAF have given Blue Peter the exclusive opportunity to be on
6:05:04 > 6:05:08board the Voyager's flight deck as it travels over Buckingham palace.
6:05:08 > 6:05:11And guess what - you're coming along for the ride too!
6:05:13 > 6:05:15Making sure the planes stay bang on time is the job
6:05:15 > 6:05:18of Flight Sergeant Paul Riley, the mission's systems operator.
6:05:18 > 6:05:20Flight Sergeant Paul Riley, lovely to meet you.
6:05:20 > 6:05:22Nice to meet you, Radzi.
6:05:22 > 6:05:25I would love to be a part of it and possibly try and help out.
6:05:25 > 6:05:26Is there anything I can do?
6:05:26 > 6:05:29We're thinking about letting you do some of the timing,
6:05:29 > 6:05:31so what I'd like you to do is you're going to check a couple of way
6:05:31 > 6:05:33points to make sure we are on time.
6:05:33 > 6:05:36After meeting up, the planes will fly a pre-planned route to the
6:05:36 > 6:05:40Palace, which has markers called way points.
6:05:40 > 6:05:43By logging when the planes fly over each way point, Flight
6:05:43 > 6:05:48Sergeant Riley can tell exactly if we're on schedule or if we're not.
6:05:48 > 6:05:50And if I am late, what will happen then?
6:05:50 > 6:05:55- No options of being late. We've got to be on time.- OK.
6:05:55 > 6:05:58The big day has finally arrived
6:05:58 > 6:06:00and celebrations are about to get under way,
6:06:00 > 6:06:02hosted by BBC's Huw Edwards.
6:06:02 > 6:06:05We'll be enjoying all the day's events,
6:06:05 > 6:06:09culminating in a spectacular birthday fly-past at one o'clock.
6:06:11 > 6:06:15And at RAF Brize Norton, it's time to get ready to fly!
6:06:16 > 6:06:20MUSIC: TOP GUN THEME
6:06:34 > 6:06:36Probably just... Just leave these.
6:06:38 > 6:06:41MUSIC: TOP GUN THEME
6:06:53 > 6:06:57Being on the flight deck for take off is incredible,
6:06:57 > 6:06:59but there's no time for sightseeing.
6:06:59 > 6:07:01Straight away, the team get down to work.
6:07:01 > 6:07:04I've got to keep my voice a little bit down cos there's a lot
6:07:04 > 6:07:08going on here. So we're at the very first phase of the flight,
6:07:08 > 6:07:12which is where we actually go round in circles, and that's to get the
6:07:12 > 6:07:17timing right, so that when we begin our journey, we are spot on time.
6:07:17 > 6:07:21Keeping the Queen waiting is simply not an option.
6:07:21 > 6:07:24The fly-past has to be over Buckingham Palace within just
6:07:24 > 6:07:25a ten second window.
6:07:25 > 6:07:29And there's another reason we have to stay on schedule.
6:07:29 > 6:07:31We've got friends to meet.
6:07:31 > 6:07:35Right next to our plane are Typhoons.
6:07:35 > 6:07:38They've just arrived.
6:07:38 > 6:07:41The Typhoons are the first to get into formation.
6:07:41 > 6:07:44Gradually everyone else in the fly-past falls into place,
6:07:44 > 6:07:46which we can see just up ahead.
6:07:49 > 6:07:53So far, so good.
6:07:53 > 6:07:56Meanwhile, on the ground, the crowds have gathered
6:07:56 > 6:07:59and the royal family are coming out on to the balcony.
6:07:59 > 6:08:03So, the Queen and the Duke smiling and greeting the crowds.
6:08:03 > 6:08:04Everyone waiting patiently.
6:08:05 > 6:08:09And through the haze, you can see the skyline of London.
6:08:09 > 6:08:11This has just got real.
6:08:11 > 6:08:15We hit the outskirts of the city, travelling at over 300mph,
6:08:15 > 6:08:19less than 1,000ft from the ground.
6:08:19 > 6:08:22There's simply no room for error.
6:08:22 > 6:08:2540 seconds to go. 40 seconds to get this right.
6:08:28 > 6:08:31The first planes from the fly-past arrive.
6:08:31 > 6:08:34There'll be a big round of applause when people see the Spitfire
6:08:34 > 6:08:36and the Hurricane.
6:08:36 > 6:08:38I think I can see Buckingham Palace.
6:08:40 > 6:08:42The great big Voyager, 200ft long.
6:08:44 > 6:08:48We've done it! Flying over the Palace, bang on time.
6:08:55 > 6:08:58And to top it off, the world famous Red Arrows.
6:09:03 > 6:09:05Happy birthday, Your Majesty.
6:09:07 > 6:09:10- Wow!- That was one of THE best experiences of my life.
6:09:10 > 6:09:13Thank you so much to Ten Squadron, 101 Squadron

6:10:17 > 6:10:19It is unbelievable.
6:10:19 > 6:10:22For those of you who haven't seen it, what is it about?
6:10:22 > 6:10:25The show's about a kid who wants to be the best
6:10:25 > 6:10:28footballer in the world, at the same time he's got to grow up.

6:11:03 > 6:11:05You've got to go with football.
6:11:05 > 6:11:08You can always act later when they make a film about your life.

6:16:13 > 6:16:15- RECORD STYLUS SCRATCHES - Oh!- Oh!
6:16:15 > 6:16:17Now, that wasn't a technical problem, don't worry.
6:16:17 > 6:16:20That's actually a little nod as to what you're about to see,
6:16:20 > 6:16:22because I met a guy who, actually, I'm a huge fan of.
6:16:22 > 6:16:25He's called DJ Mr Switch and he taught me how to scratch...
6:16:25 > 6:16:26a record.
6:16:27 > 6:16:31Ten Pieces is all about introducing a new listener to the beautiful
6:16:31 > 6:16:32world of classical music.
6:16:32 > 6:16:35So, as part of this, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra
6:16:35 > 6:16:39are doing a really special concert right here in Manchester.
6:16:39 > 6:16:42Oh, and I'm going to be playing with them.
6:16:42 > 6:16:43In just three days.
6:16:45 > 6:16:49Ten Pieces aims to inspire a whole new generation of music fans.
6:16:49 > 6:16:53They listen and then shake it up - or reversion it - in a creative way.
6:16:53 > 6:16:55I wonder what I'll be playing?
6:16:55 > 6:16:57Like the cello, maybe? Or the violin?
6:16:57 > 6:17:00Or, hopefully, my favourite instrument because of how it sounds,
6:17:00 > 6:17:01the bassoon.
6:17:03 > 6:17:04The bassoon.
6:17:04 > 6:17:06- Oh, all right, mate.- All right?
6:17:06 > 6:17:09Where's the orchestra? I'm playing with an orchestra.
6:17:09 > 6:17:10It's just me today.
6:17:10 > 6:17:12Oh.
6:17:13 > 6:17:15- Well, what can you do with them? - Try this.
6:17:18 > 6:17:20HE SCRATCHES OVER BLUE PETER THEME
6:17:23 > 6:17:25Meet four-time world champion DJ Mr Switch,
6:17:25 > 6:17:27AKA Tony.
6:17:27 > 6:17:29At the concert, he's performing a piece called
6:17:29 > 6:17:31Concerto For Turntables And Orchestra,
6:17:31 > 6:17:33composed by Gabriel Prokofiev,
6:17:33 > 6:17:34and he wants me to join
6:17:34 > 6:17:37him and scratch my way through three parts of it.
6:17:37 > 6:17:38RECORD SCRATCHING
6:17:39 > 6:17:42That was unbelievable. Well, I'll tell you what, let's start talking
6:17:42 > 6:17:45about the actual instrument itself. You know, a piano has keys,
6:17:45 > 6:17:47a guitar, strings. What do we play on this instrument?
6:17:47 > 6:17:50Well, scratching consists of two ingredients. We have the turntable
6:17:50 > 6:17:53and the mixer. So, the turntable goes backward and forwards...
6:17:53 > 6:17:55RECORD SCRATCHING
6:17:55 > 6:17:57..and then the mixer has this thing called the fader.
6:17:57 > 6:17:59All it does is turn the sound on and off.
6:17:59 > 6:18:01And then, we put those two parts together,
6:18:01 > 6:18:04then we get all these different scratch techniques.
6:18:04 > 6:18:07I need a masterclass and quickly.
6:18:07 > 6:18:08We start with the baby scratch.
6:18:08 > 6:18:10RECORD SCRATCHING
6:18:10 > 6:18:12- Shall I try it?- Give it a go.
6:18:12 > 6:18:13RECORD SCRATCHING
6:18:13 > 6:18:16- That's the baby scratch, OK. - This is called the chirp.
6:18:16 > 6:18:17RECORD SCRATCHING
6:18:17 > 6:18:19This is going to take a while, isn't it?
6:18:19 > 6:18:20MR SWITCH LAUGHS
6:18:20 > 6:18:23I spend the next few hours getting to grips with some simple scratches,
6:18:23 > 6:18:25and I am loving it.
6:18:27 > 6:18:29So, Barney's coping quite well at the moment.
6:18:29 > 6:18:31We've shown him the basics, but now, I'm going to throw the
6:18:31 > 6:18:34whole piece at him and we're going to put everything all together.
6:18:34 > 6:18:35Let's see how he does.
6:18:37 > 6:18:40Tony takes me through the three scratches that he wants me
6:18:40 > 6:18:41to do in his performance.
6:18:41 > 6:18:43The first is the string riff.
6:18:43 > 6:18:45It's actually the most complicated
6:18:45 > 6:18:47and it sounds like this.
6:18:48 > 6:18:49RECORD SCRATCHING
6:18:54 > 6:18:56Tony, it's so hard.
6:18:56 > 6:18:58The second is called the scribble.
6:19:05 > 6:19:07- Yeah, that's good. - So, that's element two.
6:19:07 > 6:19:10- There's a third element though, right?- There's a third element.
6:19:10 > 6:19:12So, there's various different bits of percussion where I'll play
6:19:12 > 6:19:16- or the DJ plays - a part and then the percussion and brass reply.
6:19:16 > 6:19:19And so the third is the call and response
6:19:22 > 6:19:23Now I know what I've got to do,
6:19:23 > 6:19:26we spend the next few hours getting our performance up to...
6:19:26 > 6:19:27scratch.
6:19:30 > 6:19:33Two days later and it's the final rehearsals.
6:19:33 > 6:19:36One last chance to practise my new skills
6:19:36 > 6:19:38and I've got company.
6:19:38 > 6:19:41This is it. I've now got to play this piece of music - or scratch -
6:19:41 > 6:19:43with an orchestra.
6:19:43 > 6:19:44Tony gets us off to a good start.
6:19:48 > 6:19:49But, when it gets to my part,
6:19:49 > 6:19:51the pressure gets to me.
6:19:52 > 6:19:53Ah, no. No volume.
6:19:55 > 6:19:57I left my fader down.
6:19:57 > 6:19:59I cannot do that on the big day.
6:19:59 > 6:20:02If you make a mistake, it's not like you can correct it. It's like, "Oh, no! I missed it,"
6:20:02 > 6:20:06and you've got to move to the next one, haven't you? I need to get that right.
6:20:06 > 6:20:08And, before I know it, rehearsals are over.
6:20:12 > 6:20:13It's showtime.
6:20:15 > 6:20:18- ANNOUNCER: - Please welcome Barney Harwood!
6:20:18 > 6:20:19Thanks Casey, ta.
6:20:19 > 6:20:22I have to try and remember everything Tony has taught me.
6:20:22 > 6:20:24First up is the string riff.
6:20:29 > 6:20:31And...
6:20:35 > 6:20:38I just about do it and my nerves settle.
6:20:38 > 6:20:40Next, the scribble.
6:20:50 > 6:20:51This one I find easier.
6:20:51 > 6:20:53I'm feeling good now.
6:20:53 > 6:20:55Finally, the call and response.
6:21:01 > 6:21:02Nailed it!
6:21:02 > 6:21:04And now I am really enjoying myself.
6:21:10 > 6:21:13But, there's no denying who the master is.
6:21:30 > 6:21:32CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
6:21:32 > 6:21:36From an absolute beginner to a scratch DJ in just three days - loved it.
6:21:36 > 6:21:37Unbelievable!
6:21:39 > 6:21:42DJ Mr Switch is genuinely one of the best talents I think
6:21:42 > 6:21:44I've ever been on the same stage with for a long time. So awesome.
6:21:44 > 6:21:47Mate, I really enjoyed it. Thank you so much.
6:21:47 > 6:21:49So, from scratching records to...
6:21:49 > 6:21:52- making them, I suppose. That kind of works, doesn't it?- That works. - Yeah, good link.
6:21:52 > 6:21:55Here's the current Freestyle Football Federation Champion.
6:21:55 > 6:21:57He's about to make a world record.
6:21:57 > 6:22:00Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, please welcome Andrew Henderson.
6:22:00 > 6:22:01CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
6:22:01 > 6:22:03I'm joined in the studio by Christopher from Guinness.
6:22:03 > 6:22:07- Christopher, good to see you.- Hello. - Now, about the rules. How does it work today?
6:22:07 > 6:22:08Cos we're all feeling a bit nervous.
6:22:08 > 6:22:11OK, Andrew, today you're going to attempt the official
6:22:11 > 6:22:14Guinness World Records title for the fastest time to complete
6:22:14 > 6:22:15ten Maradona 7s.
6:22:16 > 6:22:17So, for the purposes of this record,
6:22:17 > 6:22:20a Maradona 7 is a football trick in which you pass a football
6:22:20 > 6:22:23from your right foot to your left foot to you right knee or thigh
6:22:23 > 6:22:25to your left knee to your right shoulder to your left shoulder
6:22:25 > 6:22:27and then to your head.
6:22:27 > 6:22:29That counts as one repetition, and then back to your right foot.
6:22:29 > 6:22:32Amazing. And to demonstrate that, Christopher, everybody.
6:22:32 > 6:22:33- Ha, no.- I'm only kidding.
6:22:33 > 6:22:38OK, so, what happens if the ball drops or if he uses a different part of his body?
6:22:38 > 6:22:41- If the ball drops, the whole attempt is disqualified.- Uh-oh.
6:22:41 > 6:22:44And if the ball touches any other part of your body other than the seven points,
6:22:44 > 6:22:46you have to start again at the right foot.
6:22:46 > 6:22:50Just to reiterate, this is the first time it's ever been been attempted.
6:22:50 > 6:22:5260 seconds and we're looking for the magic number ten.
6:22:52 > 6:22:54How ya feeling?
6:22:54 > 6:22:56I'm nervous. I'm excited.
6:22:56 > 6:22:57It's going to be difficult,
6:22:57 > 6:23:01but, you know, I think I can do it. I've trained hard and, er,
6:23:01 > 6:23:02- and let's give it a go.- Yeah.
6:23:02 > 6:23:06Mate, don't worry, if you get this wrong, there's only 20 million people watching.
6:23:06 > 6:23:08- You'll be absolutely fine.- You've got this.
6:23:08 > 6:23:10- OK, Christopher, it's all yours.- Go on, Andrew!
6:23:12 > 6:23:15Andrew, this is an official Guinness World Records attempt.
6:23:15 > 6:23:16Are you ready?
6:23:16 > 6:23:18OK. Three,
6:23:18 > 6:23:19two,
6:23:19 > 6:23:20one, go.
6:23:23 > 6:23:26- That's one.- He's off to a really good start.
6:23:26 > 6:23:28- He's so calm.- He's in the flow.
6:23:28 > 6:23:29Look at the focus.
6:23:30 > 6:23:31Three.
6:23:33 > 6:23:35Four.
6:23:37 > 6:23:39Five. Halfway through.
6:23:41 > 6:23:43- Oh, lbit of a wobble. - Six. Well done.
6:23:43 > 6:23:45The tension. I can't take this tension.
6:23:49 > 6:23:51- Eight.- So, this is the first time this has ever been attempted
6:23:51 > 6:23:54- and live on TV, everybody. He's doing a fantastic job.- Nine.
6:23:54 > 6:23:57- He's so nearly there.- Go on, you've got one more to go.- Go on.
6:23:57 > 6:23:59- Has he done it in time? - There we go, amazing.
6:23:59 > 6:24:00CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
6:24:00 > 6:24:03Well done, well done, well done. How do you think that went?
6:24:03 > 6:24:05I'm really, really, really, really, really happy with that.
6:24:05 > 6:24:09Well, that says enough. Listen, you'll be even happier when you see your super-slo-mo. Look at that.
6:24:09 > 6:24:13You look so controlled and you hit all the right parts of your body,
6:24:13 > 6:24:15so you've definitely counted, but, Christopher, you are the man
6:24:15 > 6:24:18that says whether or not it has been achieved today.
6:24:18 > 6:24:21OK. So, Andrew, the time to beat was 60 seconds.
6:24:21 > 6:24:23I can confirm,
6:24:23 > 6:24:26with a finishing time of 37 seconds, it is a new...
6:24:26 > 6:24:28CHEERING DROWNS OUT HIS VOICE
6:24:31 > 6:24:33Yeah, Andrew, you smashed that. How are you feeling?
6:24:33 > 6:24:37I'm so happy with that. 37 seconds, that's faster than I've ever done it in training.
6:24:37 > 6:24:38- Wow!- Amazing!- I'm over the moon.
6:24:38 > 6:24:42You pulled all the stops out. One huge round of applause, everybody, please!
6:24:42 > 6:24:43CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
6:24:43 > 6:24:46- Thank you, mate, and congratulations.- Well done!- If you want to learn some tricks
6:24:46 > 6:24:49from the man himself, head online to the Blue Peter website.
6:24:49 > 6:24:51You're going to be taught how to do the crossover.
6:24:51 > 6:24:52- That was brilliant! - Ah, very exciting.
6:24:52 > 6:24:56There's glitter everywhere. Now, earlier in the show, we asked you to let us know
6:24:56 > 6:24:58- who would you have a little kick about with...- Andrew.
6:24:58 > 6:25:01- ALL: ..and why?- Yeah, well, apart from Andrew. He's amazing.
6:25:01 > 6:25:03Er, OrangeFeistyJellyfish says,
6:25:03 > 6:25:06- "I'd have a little match with Shelley."- Awww!
6:25:06 > 6:25:07She's got tiny, tiny legs.
6:25:07 > 6:25:10"She'd have great tactics, cos she could hide in her shell
6:25:10 > 6:25:12"and the ball would just bounce off it."
6:25:12 > 6:25:14- True.- Genius.- She's amazing at football, Shelley.
6:25:14 > 6:25:19LemonDreamyAnemone - now, you'll like this, Linds - you clearly watch a lot of Blue Peter.
6:25:19 > 6:25:23"I'd have a kickabout with Lindsey, cos she can ref and play the game at the same time."
6:25:23 > 6:25:25I think I've forgotten my ref skills, though. I think you'd win.
6:25:25 > 6:25:27- Definitely.- It's been thought about.
6:25:27 > 6:25:29CarnelianChocolateBaker,
6:25:29 > 6:25:31"I would play with Jamie Johnson," - of course you would -
6:25:31 > 6:25:34"because I think he's so cool and it would be lots of fun." Thank you.
6:25:34 > 6:25:36I'm not sure about this one. CyanGymnasticGoat says,
6:25:36 > 6:25:38"I'd play football with the whale because why not?"
6:25:38 > 6:25:41I like your reasoning. Points for that, well done, you.
6:25:41 > 6:25:45- And Lindsey, do you like Whales?- No. - The animals?- Love the country, love the country.
6:25:45 > 6:25:48- Don't like the animals. Er, LilacReadingJaguar?- OK.
6:25:48 > 6:25:53"I'd like to play with Albert Adomah, cos he's a player from my favourite team
6:25:53 > 6:25:55"that I've just got into the Premier League - Middlesbrough."
6:25:55 > 6:25:57Well done, Middlesbrough!
6:25:57 > 6:26:00IndigoMetallicCanary, "I would like a kickabout with David Walliams,
6:26:00 > 6:26:03"because he'd make me laugh after each goal I scored."
