:00:33. > :00:57.of them are all. Hello! That's like Superman's
:00:58. > :01:02.watching, how you doing? Today's show is all about the distinctive,
:01:03. > :01:08.unique, distinctive and my favourite of all the Blue Peter badges, the
:01:09. > :01:12.Sport badge 2016. Look at that. The finish line is just around the
:01:13. > :01:15.corner, you only have until September the 30th, which by the
:01:16. > :01:19.way, is just around the corner. You haven't got long to get applying for
:01:20. > :01:23.your Blue Peter Sport badge. It doesn't sound like it very far away,
:01:24. > :01:33.let's ask Helen Glover how long that is? You only have eight days. Thank
:01:34. > :01:38.you. If only we had double Olympic champion Jade Jones to tell us how
:01:39. > :01:42.long is. Only eight days away. I'm still not quite getting it. If only
:01:43. > :01:50.we had a winning team pursuit cyclist here... That would be really
:01:51. > :01:58.good. Not the 28th 29th or... But the 30th. That's a really cool
:01:59. > :02:01.thing. I think it's a very exciting thing. We are going to try and
:02:02. > :02:05.explain to you in the next half an hour how you can get your Blue Peter
:02:06. > :02:10.Sport badge before the closing date, the 30th. That's right. We are going
:02:11. > :02:17.to be saying that a lot. We are also joined by the stars of The Lodge!
:02:18. > :02:23.Singing, dancing and all the works. They have a new band member, Shelley
:02:24. > :02:28.in her sporty kit. If you can spot her later in the show, we are
:02:29. > :02:34.playing Spot Sporty Shelley. You have to see her later. Now, we can't
:02:35. > :02:38.do all of this ourselves so we've enlisted some help from some
:02:39. > :02:44.incredible human beings. Straight from Rio and the incredible success
:02:45. > :02:50.they enjoyed, the men's Olympic rowing team. The double Olympic
:02:51. > :02:54.sprint champion, Libby Clegg and silver medallist in the triathlon,
:02:55. > :02:59.Lauren Steadman. Silver winning taekwondo, look at that guy, isn't
:03:00. > :03:02.he a machine! Welcome to the studio. Massive round of applause again
:03:03. > :03:08.please ladies and gentlemen. APPLAUSE
:03:09. > :03:13.Thank you. Those shiny things they have worked incredibly hard for,
:03:14. > :03:18.their medals. You guys at home, we want you to ask them questions but
:03:19. > :03:22.think outside the box! It has to be an original question, you get asked
:03:23. > :03:25.this same questions every time so we want an original question may
:03:26. > :03:30.haven't been asked before. Have you ever played gherkin like a flute?
:03:31. > :03:35.No, I haven't. You can tell he wants to! Head to the Blue Peter website
:03:36. > :03:40.and we'll try to read out at the end of the show. I love pickles, so I
:03:41. > :03:45.like that. Let's see how some of you have been getting your Blue Peter
:03:46. > :03:50.sports badges. Hello, my name is Gabriella. I earned my Blue Peter
:03:51. > :03:55.Sport badge by inspiring my friend Jasmine to take up yoga. I love yoga
:03:56. > :04:00.because it keeps you fit and you can do partner poses with a friend. You
:04:01. > :04:03.should inspire a friend to try out a new sport, because you never know
:04:04. > :04:07.how good they are and they might want to do it in the future. And
:04:08. > :04:13.that's how I earned my Blue Peter Sport badge.
:04:14. > :04:17.My name is Emma. I earned my Blue Peter Sport badge by inspiring my
:04:18. > :04:25.cousin Matthew to get into BMX racing. My sporting hero is
:04:26. > :04:32.Phillips. A good start by Liam Phillips! I have 40 won quite a lot
:04:33. > :04:36.of trophies but in the future I would hope to go to the Olympics and
:04:37. > :04:48.win gold and that's how I earned my Blue Peter sports badge. My name is
:04:49. > :04:52.Danil and I won the Blue Peter Sport badge by inspiring my friend to play
:04:53. > :04:55.squash. I felt excited when I got my Blue Peter Sport badge because it is
:04:56. > :05:02.the first Blue Peter badge I have ever received. And that's how I
:05:03. > :05:06.earned my Blue Peter Sport badge. My name is Tom and on my Blue Peter
:05:07. > :05:13.Sport badge I inspired my sister to get involved in triathlon.
:05:14. > :05:16.I love triathlon because I love swimming, writing and running and it
:05:17. > :05:22.gives me confidence to go and do other things. -- riding. My sporting
:05:23. > :05:28.heroes are the Brownlee brothers. Every time they race, they make me
:05:29. > :05:32.more inspired. Jonny Brownlee finishes a handful of seconds behind
:05:33. > :05:37.to take the silver. To win your Sport badge. Make sure you apply. By
:05:38. > :05:40.the 30th of September. This is a great thing about the BP Sport
:05:41. > :05:44.badge, inspiring a friend to get involved in the sport you love. Tom
:05:45. > :05:48.inspired his sister to get involved in triathlon said his sporting
:05:49. > :05:51.heroes are the Brownlee brothers. Tom, we have a little surprise for
:05:52. > :05:56.you and I know you are watching, watch this. Hi, I am Alistair
:05:57. > :06:00.stopper and I am Johnny. Congratulations on winning your Blue
:06:01. > :06:03.Peter Sport badge, a fantastic achievement, especially inspiring
:06:04. > :06:06.other people to do sport, like your sister. Keep up with the good work
:06:07. > :06:09.and you might make it to the Olympics in the future but most
:06:10. > :06:12.importantly, keep enjoying the sport. How amazing was that? Thank
:06:13. > :06:16.you for inspiring your sister and thank you to everybody and well done
:06:17. > :06:23.for getting your BP Sport badges. If you want to get in touch and on your
:06:24. > :06:25.BP Sport badge you get your chance to on the judging panel of the 2016
:06:26. > :06:29.young personality sport personality of the year. We know these boys next
:06:30. > :06:32.to me are incredible athletes. We know they are dynamite on the water
:06:33. > :06:37.and we know they have got gold medals, but can make hold their
:06:38. > :06:41.nerve when it comes to one of the most exciting quizzes on TV? Time to
:06:42. > :06:46.find out, lights down, please. CHEERING
:06:47. > :06:49.These questions are all about the BP Sport badge.
:06:50. > :06:54.Let's see what the light does. What is the last date in the month of
:06:55. > :07:01.September? Let's see where the light land. It is an Mo. 30th of
:07:02. > :07:06.September. Well done, that's the right answer. Congratulations.
:07:07. > :07:14.Next question. What date falls immediately before the 1st of
:07:15. > :07:18.October? It has stopped on Alex. 30th of September. Well done, on the
:07:19. > :07:23.pressure and you performed. Final question, most important, here we
:07:24. > :07:27.go. When is the last day to get your Sport badge application in? Lights
:07:28. > :07:34.are flashing and they land on... Constant whine. 30th of September.
:07:35. > :07:46.It is, three out of three. -- Constantine. The BP Badge Wall is
:07:47. > :07:51.looking more super than ever! Have a look at it. Can we do say, we have
:07:52. > :07:57.awarded over 7000 Blue Peter Sport badges so far in 2016, which is
:07:58. > :08:04.pretty awesome! Amazing. I have to talk about brothers Ben and Jamie.
:08:05. > :08:08.Inspired to take up tennis. They loved it, look at that pose.
:08:09. > :08:15.Apparently they were told to keep it down, they were mating a bit of a
:08:16. > :08:21.racket! Have you clocked one? For me, Esme has inspired Ella to take
:08:22. > :08:28.up running. That is a great photo, brilliant. Lauren? Lauren is by
:08:29. > :08:33.different to take up triathlon because she loves swimming. You can
:08:34. > :08:37.see Jodanna on the left, inspired her friend Emily to take part in
:08:38. > :08:40.wheelchair basketball. Jodanna says it is great to have Emily there with
:08:41. > :08:44.her because it makes her feel confident in the sport. Amazing to
:08:45. > :08:47.hear, inspirational, well done girls. There are so many brilliant
:08:48. > :08:51.stories here, you can feel most every sport that exists on this
:08:52. > :08:55.board. Exactly, as a youngster I loved all my sports. You get to be
:08:56. > :09:04.with friends, try new sport and everyone has a smile on their face.
:09:05. > :09:06.Everyone is happy. And they could possibly be inspired by guys like
:09:07. > :09:09.yourself. Libby, how does it make you feel? Schumacher is great to
:09:10. > :09:12.inspire young children. As long as they are having fun and enjoying
:09:13. > :09:16.themselves, that's all that matters. Everyone wants a BP Sport badge,
:09:17. > :09:20.don't just take our word for it, it is Callum Skinner. I have a gold
:09:21. > :09:22.medal and a silver and might Blue Peter Sport badge. Go and earn
:09:23. > :09:28.yourself one of these. Keeping it to the sporty theme... Thank you.
:09:29. > :09:33.Challenge time, I was very nervous for this! He saw me training for a
:09:34. > :09:39.huge sailing challenge last week and this is what happened when it came
:09:40. > :09:43.to race day. Stop it! The biggest annual sailing event in
:09:44. > :09:48.the world, Cowes week. Competing here are some of the faster sailing
:09:49. > :09:53.boats on the planet, just like Invictus, a yacht manned by highly
:09:54. > :09:57.trained professional crew. And for one race at Cowes, they will have a
:09:58. > :10:02.new crew member. Over here, just over here. That person, in case you
:10:03. > :10:05.were wondering, is me! I am not nervous at all... I am really
:10:06. > :10:10.nervous! And that's because whilst I've learned the basics of sailing,
:10:11. > :10:15.I've never set foot on a yacht at this size with a crew before. So
:10:16. > :10:50.it's a good job the boat's owner Sir Keith Mills has loads of
:10:51. > :10:54.experience when it comes to taking on big challenges. Keith, it is an
:10:55. > :10:57.honour to be racing with your team, I am really excited and what about
:10:58. > :10:59.this is. What can I expect from the race? It's an awesome machine and
:11:00. > :11:02.there is a breeze today so we will get going but not too much. I cannot
:11:03. > :11:06.wait, thank you so much for having me. I hope I don't let you down. To
:11:07. > :11:09.get a feel for the boat I am joining the team for their final training
:11:10. > :11:11.session. With a crew of t welve each person has their very own important
:11:12. > :11:14.role and they have to work together. Keith is in charge of steering but
:11:15. > :11:17.instructing everyone on what is for the boat's skipper. Teamwork is key,
:11:18. > :11:20.just to raise the sales takes two of us. This is as terrifying as it
:11:21. > :11:22.looks. To turn a boat of this size and power at top speed, steering
:11:23. > :11:25.isn't enough. The crew need to move their weight from one side of the
:11:26. > :11:28.boat to the other. This is hiking and if you don't do it, Invictus
:11:29. > :11:31.could tip over under the huge force of the wind. I'm hanging off the end
:11:32. > :11:34.of a boat being told to basically lean over so much my chin is in the
:11:35. > :11:38.water! This isn't normal. Just when I thought the session was going
:11:39. > :11:41.well, there's a problem. One of the sail ropes has got tangled at the
:11:42. > :11:46.front. If that happens tomorrow, that could affect the entire race
:11:47. > :11:50.for these guys. It's a reminder for me that one mistake could be the
:11:51. > :11:53.difference between success and failure for everyone on board.
:11:54. > :11:57.That's why these training days happen!
:11:58. > :12:01.Now, during the race there is the maximum people who are allowed on
:12:02. > :12:04.board. That means I have to leave the camera crew behind. But don't
:12:05. > :12:08.worry, I have this little camera here, which means I will be taking
:12:09. > :12:14.you on my epic journey. Let's go, say goodbye, crew. We are up against
:12:15. > :12:20.12 other boats, taking on a course that takes up to four hours to
:12:21. > :12:24.complete. A getting -- on getting a sense of nerves, for sure. They are
:12:25. > :12:29.all very focused, can't believe this is it. The start is vital, in
:12:30. > :12:33.sailing the boats are always moving, so the crew judge when to hit the
:12:34. > :12:41.line and we hit it just as the race begins. Three, two, one. Go!
:12:42. > :12:45.Despite giving everything, we find ourselves second to last, with
:12:46. > :12:49.plenty of work to do. For me, the action on board is almost
:12:50. > :12:54.overwhelming. This is something quite amazing to
:12:55. > :12:57.watch. The teamwork is ridiculous. Communication, everyone has their
:12:58. > :13:01.job they are doing. But I need to get used to everything
:13:02. > :13:06.that's going on, and fast, because the team need me to pull my weight.
:13:07. > :13:12.So I start hiking. I'm determined to help us come back from this.
:13:13. > :13:21.And now we lean. Little by little, with everyone pulling together, we
:13:22. > :13:26.begin to move up the field. By the halfway point we find ourselves
:13:27. > :13:30.eightth out of 13. But we're not done yet. We cruised past two more
:13:31. > :13:35.boats. It feels like it's all clicked. The adrenaline is pumping
:13:36. > :13:39.and I'm loving this! I did not expect the boats to be this close
:13:40. > :13:46.together. The one in front is just there. And the ones just behind are
:13:47. > :13:51.over here. This is so close now. As we approach the last corner, we have
:13:52. > :13:55.to take it perfectly. We've got another corner coming, and these
:13:56. > :13:58.bits are intense. If we get this right, we could move into the top
:13:59. > :14:04.three. That was close! We take it as tight
:14:05. > :14:08.as it can, we're putting everything we've got into this. It is all to
:14:09. > :14:11.play for, neck and neck. It's now a straight head-to-head race for the
:14:12. > :14:16.line. There are three boats between us and the finish. The wind is in
:14:17. > :14:19.our favour, our sales are up and the crew is doing everything they can to
:14:20. > :14:29.squeeze every last drop of speed from our yachts. We catch third. We
:14:30. > :14:36.catch second... Just one more left. We could win this! In the end we run
:14:37. > :14:41.out of time and crossed the line in second. How do you think I got on? I
:14:42. > :14:45.think you did a fantastic job, Lindsey. Second time in a boat, good
:14:46. > :14:49.training yesterday and we threw you in at the deep end. You did a great
:14:50. > :14:53.job. To move almost last second place was incredible and I'm so
:14:54. > :14:59.proud to have played just a small part in a phenomenal team effort.
:15:00. > :15:06.You know, it's true. I'm really proud of that. That is a pearl Blue
:15:07. > :15:15.Peter film. Back to the studio, and we have the cost of The Lodge. He's
:15:16. > :15:21.welcome Sophie, Thomas, Luke, Jade, Jayden, Josh and Bethan. Welcome to
:15:22. > :15:28.the show. Tell us about the new show. It sounds amazing. The Lodge
:15:29. > :15:32.tells us about the story of Sky, who has a journey of discovery. She
:15:33. > :15:39.moves to the countryside and goes on lots of adventures. I think I'm
:15:40. > :15:45.sold. Can I have a look? We can make this work. Not that simple. We have
:15:46. > :15:52.to try. We'll give it a makeover. New start. All right. We'll put off
:15:53. > :15:59.signing until after summer but we got turn it around. Do you think a
:16:00. > :16:05.teenager has any idea what's in her best interests? She does, and I
:16:06. > :16:09.believe in her. I love it. You can see there, but you guys are super
:16:10. > :16:15.active in the show, singing, dancing and you had to learn, was its
:16:16. > :16:20.mountain biking? Mountain rock climbing, kayaking. You've
:16:21. > :16:27.definitely got a Blue Peter Sport badge. Some people at home might
:16:28. > :16:32.recognise you. I'm also on the 4 O'Clock Club, so it's awesome to be
:16:33. > :16:38.in this as well. You are all oversee BBC. You will be doing a new song
:16:39. > :16:41.later called Believe That and I've seen the rehearsals. We just played
:16:42. > :16:48.a gig which everybody can see on the website. It's like we planned it.
:16:49. > :16:54.I'm a huge fan, especially of you and your dad. You are amazing in the
:16:55. > :16:59.show. I have a message from a celebrity you haven't met called
:17:00. > :17:01.Honey Badger. Have you heard of him? No? He's an amazing sports
:17:02. > :17:12.personality. I'm surprised you haven't. Darts, a game requiring
:17:13. > :17:17.nerves of steel, pinpoint accuracy and top maths skills, not my strong
:17:18. > :17:25.points. I'm about to meet ABP fan and superstar who's going to change
:17:26. > :17:31.that. This is a 12 year rolled Bo, a future superstar. Who better to tell
:17:32. > :17:37.-- show me the ropes. I need top three tips on how to play. Get your
:17:38. > :17:44.stance. How you stand is all-important. I stand side on so I
:17:45. > :17:48.can get a good aim. That means you're throwing hand is closer to
:17:49. > :17:56.the board so you can be more accurate, fingers crossed. Lim in.
:17:57. > :18:03.First shot of the day, the side stance works. -- Lim in. Next, the
:18:04. > :18:08.grip. The way you hold your dart, the way you feel comfortable.
:18:09. > :18:13.Everyone's grip is different. The most important thing is to feel
:18:14. > :18:21.comfortable when you release your.. Stance, grip, third tip. Where you
:18:22. > :18:33.aim is the name of the game. Play that with a nice throw. Like that.
:18:34. > :18:36.Is that 180? Yeah. Show off! That is the highest score achievable with
:18:37. > :18:41.three darts, and there are plenty of other numbers involved. Both players
:18:42. > :18:46.start with 501 points and the winner is the first to get to zero. You
:18:47. > :18:52.must finish on the outer ring of the board, which is called a double.
:18:53. > :18:58.Maths is very important in darts. I need 30 to win, a double 15. You
:18:59. > :19:06.have to finish on a double. Great shot. Double 15, that 30. I'm sure
:19:07. > :19:12.there's something about that date that's important... Let's play
:19:13. > :19:18.darts! I think I've improved today. Do you think I am good enough for a
:19:19. > :19:26.game against you? Not really. Great, let's do it. Every darts player
:19:27. > :19:38.needs a nickname. Meet Bo and Arrow, and all-round actor. And Honey
:19:39. > :19:45.Badger. They've got great care. -- hair. So a game of 501. Want to go
:19:46. > :19:56.first? I'll let you first. May be best person win. All right, that's
:19:57. > :20:00.29. 85. From the first throw, I'm behind. Come on, Honey Badger. And
:20:01. > :20:06.the scoring isn't going much better. 406? This is when I think I should
:20:07. > :20:14.have paid more attention in maths. But then... Triple 20! The top score
:20:15. > :20:23.with one.. Is there hope? Not triple 20. Bo keeps scoring big and in the
:20:24. > :20:31.blink of an eye she is finishing on a double two. I know what happens
:20:32. > :20:37.next. There we go. What a shot! I've really enjoyed today. Thank you. I
:20:38. > :20:45.think I've got a bit better. A bit. You'd better have a rest and I'd
:20:46. > :20:50.better practice. Did you see the position that she has in that?
:20:51. > :20:55.Incredible. For more of that, go to BBC Two this afternoon -- Saturday
:20:56. > :21:04.afternoon for the Champions League of Darts. Now we have a dart board.
:21:05. > :21:10.Let's go with a dart board for a second. We have split it into
:21:11. > :21:17.quarters and where Lutalo 's darts land will determine the question. So
:21:18. > :21:22.your first. Please, my friend. No pressure to hit the board. -- your
:21:23. > :21:29.first dart. Who is your sporting idol? Muhammad Ali, somebody I
:21:30. > :21:34.looked up to from a little boy. What he did in his life was incredible.
:21:35. > :21:43.High-5. Next dart, please. He likes it. Yes! Oh! What is your
:21:44. > :21:49.motivation? My dad is the one who taught me how to do tae kwon do and
:21:50. > :21:53.he keeps motivating me to this day. And your last dart, no pressure at
:21:54. > :22:02.all. Where is it going to go? He's going to do it! E-mailed it! Your
