6:59:44 > 6:59:48I'm here in the Blue Peter studio, on the search for fantastic beasts.

6:59:48 > 6:59:51Over there, we have a trunk and large ears.

6:59:51 > 6:59:53TRUMPETING That's an elephant.

6:59:53 > 6:59:55Over here, we have scaly skin and no legs.

6:59:55 > 6:59:57RATTLING That's a rattlesnake.

6:59:57 > 7:00:01Over behind it, I think I've found the fiercest of all creatures. Run!

7:00:01 > 7:00:02ROARING

7:00:02 > 7:00:05Is he OK? Barnes? Was it something I said?

7:00:21 > 7:00:23CHEERING

7:00:23 > 7:00:26Hello, and welcome to live Blue Peter and, my goodness,

7:00:26 > 7:00:28we have an animal-tastic show coming your way.

7:00:28 > 7:00:31Coming up, Radzi goes behind the scenes on the set

7:00:31 > 7:00:33of a brand-new blockbuster movie.

7:00:33 > 7:00:36It's called Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. It's amazing.

7:00:36 > 7:00:38Stay tuned to see what Radzi gets up to.

7:00:38 > 7:00:40Speaking of beasts, look who's in the studio.

7:00:40 > 7:00:42It's animal expert Scott,

7:00:42 > 7:00:45and he has brought a very scary something along with him.

7:00:45 > 7:00:46I'm scared already, Barnes.

7:00:46 > 7:00:49And this time, we've got the coolest animal yet.

7:00:49 > 7:00:52When she was talking about beasts, she was talking about you, Scott.

7:00:52 > 7:00:54Also, a brand-new competition, it's a funny one,

7:00:54 > 7:00:57that's why my favourite person on Earth, Sir Peter Kay,

7:00:57 > 7:00:58is going to be along a bit later.

7:00:58 > 7:01:01And we want you to vote for the favourite baby animal film

7:01:01 > 7:01:03you want to see later in the show.

7:01:03 > 7:01:06Is it going to be seals, baby tigers or okapi?

7:01:06 > 7:01:09- They're all so squishy and cute. But it's up to you.- Tigers.

7:01:09 > 7:01:12Head to the Blue Peter website, you've got about ten minutes left,

7:01:12 > 7:01:14and get voting. What do you want to see?

7:01:14 > 7:01:17- Tigers.- Shh! - You asked me the question.

7:01:17 > 7:01:18While you're online,

7:01:18 > 7:01:20tell us what beast you would be if you could create one.

7:01:20 > 7:01:22So, let's say you want to have the legs of a cheetah

7:01:22 > 7:01:25and the head of a lion, because you want to bite people and run away.

7:01:25 > 7:01:28- Or maybe the legs of a giraffe and crocodile legs...- Scales!

7:01:28 > 7:01:29Whatever you want to do.

7:01:29 > 7:01:31Just tell us what kind of beast you would create.

7:01:31 > 7:01:34Give yourself a name as well, please,

7:01:34 > 7:01:36so that we know who you are, and what you'd be.

7:01:36 > 7:01:39Also, Spot Shelley is happening later. Shelley WILL appear.

7:01:39 > 7:01:41The person who spots Shelley first and gets in touch will win

7:01:41 > 7:01:44- a house in Florida... - No, they won't.- ..and £1 million!

7:01:44 > 7:01:47- They won't. Sh! They'll get a shout-out.- None of that's true.

7:01:47 > 7:01:48Speaking of Spot Shelley,

7:01:48 > 7:01:50I'm struggling to spot Radz today. Where is he?

7:01:50 > 7:01:53It doesn't matter about not seeing him, because I know Radzi very well.

7:01:53 > 7:01:56You know how some people have a smell? Radzi has his own smell.

7:01:56 > 7:01:59It's a bit like steak crisps, and the smell of steak crisps is

7:01:59 > 7:02:01stronger over at this part of the studio.

7:02:01 > 7:02:03Now, I know he is around here somewhere,

7:02:03 > 7:02:06because there is a camera there, so he must be here...

7:02:06 > 7:02:07- Barney!- Whoa! Radz!- Hello.

7:02:07 > 7:02:10Mate, that's pretty special, isn't it?

7:02:10 > 7:02:11That is actually awesome.

7:02:11 > 7:02:14I've tried my absolute best, and I'm camouflaged into this wall,

7:02:14 > 7:02:17courtesy of a body-painting world champion. Do you want to meet her?

7:02:17 > 7:02:21Honestly, she looks incredible. She really does blend in(!)

7:02:21 > 7:02:22It's Carolyn Roper!

7:02:22 > 7:02:24- Hey, Carolyn. How are you doing?- Hi.

7:02:24 > 7:02:27- What a job.- Thank you. - Let's talk about what you do.

7:02:27 > 7:02:30You started with a masterpiece and took it somewhere else.

7:02:30 > 7:02:32How have you created Radzi's look?

7:02:32 > 7:02:36First of all, we painted on these lines going all the way across,

7:02:36 > 7:02:39making sure that his body really blends in here.

7:02:39 > 7:02:42Then what I had to do was paint on all of these little squares

7:02:42 > 7:02:45individually, one at a time, so it's a good job that Radzi is

7:02:45 > 7:02:48really patient, because he's stood like this for over three hours.

7:02:48 > 7:02:50We could have picked an easier set for you to stand in front of!

7:02:50 > 7:02:53How has it been, standing there for three hours?

7:02:53 > 7:02:56Cold, but surprisingly difficult, just to stand still.

7:02:56 > 7:02:57And be very, very quiet as well.

7:02:57 > 7:02:59It's really effective. It looks really good.

7:02:59 > 7:03:01Carolyn, I know you are a world champion,

7:03:01 > 7:03:04you've been doing it for 13 years, but how did it all begin?

7:03:04 > 7:03:06I started off by training as a make-up artist,

7:03:06 > 7:03:09and I saw some adverts for body-painting festivals,

7:03:09 > 7:03:12competitions that were around, and I literally just went along,

7:03:12 > 7:03:15never painted anyone before, tried it out, really liked it

7:03:15 > 7:03:18and then I just kept practising and practising until I got good at it.

7:03:18 > 7:03:20- And you are very good. - Thank you.- We can prove that.

7:03:20 > 7:03:23We have photographs. Look at this. That is some of your work.

7:03:23 > 7:03:24- No!- It's amazing.

7:03:24 > 7:03:27- That looks quite tough to do, that.- Thank you.

7:03:27 > 7:03:30That was a difficult day. We had to start very early in the morning

7:03:30 > 7:03:31about five o'clock in the morning.

7:03:31 > 7:03:34That's too early for that. Oh, that's really good.

7:03:34 > 7:03:36- Is that a football stadium? - Is he sat down?- He is sat down.

7:03:36 > 7:03:39You'd think that would be easier, but, quite frankly,

7:03:39 > 7:03:41- his legs went to sleep because he was sat there for so long.- No!

7:03:41 > 7:03:43Which is a nightmare, cos they'll be up all night.

7:03:43 > 7:03:46It can be just as hard to sit down as stand up.

7:03:46 > 7:03:48This one is my favourite, because if the shoes weren't there,

7:03:48 > 7:03:51I don't think you'd be able to see that person.

7:03:51 > 7:03:52That looks quite detailed.

7:03:52 > 7:03:53It was difficult to do,

7:03:53 > 7:03:56but sometimes the more detail you've got, the more someone

7:03:56 > 7:03:59will disappear into the background, so that's why it works so well.

7:03:59 > 7:04:02So everyone at home is thinking, "I'd like to be able to do this."

7:04:02 > 7:04:05So, for any budding body-painters out there, what advice do you have?

7:04:05 > 7:04:08Firstly, I'd say make sure you use face-paints.

7:04:08 > 7:04:11- Don't use a felt-tip pens or poster paints or anything else.- Sure.

7:04:11 > 7:04:13Face-paints are safe to use on the skin.

7:04:13 > 7:04:16Once you've got those, you can use sponges or art brushes,

7:04:16 > 7:04:18and you can start small.

7:04:18 > 7:04:21Just practise little things on your hands or on your face,

7:04:21 > 7:04:24- and then you can just work bigger as your confidence grows.- Amazing.

7:04:24 > 7:04:27- Carolyn, we're going to do a bit more painting later.- Yes.- Nice one.

7:04:27 > 7:04:29- Thank you for now.- Thank you.

7:04:29 > 7:04:33So, from hand-painted art to computer animation.

7:04:33 > 7:04:36Just over a year ago, I got the chance to go

7:04:36 > 7:04:39behind the scenes at one of the biggest films of 2016.

7:04:39 > 7:04:41I look a bit ridiculous, by the way,

7:04:41 > 7:04:43but you are going to like this a lot. Take a look.

7:04:45 > 7:04:47Calling all Muggles.

7:04:47 > 7:04:49It is time to dust off your dress robes and polish your wands,

7:04:49 > 7:04:52because the wizarding world is back.

7:04:52 > 7:04:55Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is the latest film

7:04:55 > 7:04:58from Harry Potter creator JK Rowling.

7:04:58 > 7:05:01Following the adventures of Newt Scamander

7:05:01 > 7:05:05in a secret community of witches and wizards, it's set 70 years

7:05:05 > 7:05:08before Harry Potter reads Scamander's book at Hogwarts

7:05:08 > 7:05:09and, unbelievably,

7:05:09 > 7:05:13I've come to visit the set of one of the biggest films of the year.

7:05:13 > 7:05:16Check this place out!

7:05:16 > 7:05:20Well, we have been given exclusive backstage access to this

7:05:20 > 7:05:25incredibly secretive set to help tell you all about it.

7:05:25 > 7:05:27The film uses special effects,

7:05:27 > 7:05:32stunning sets and beautiful costumes to bring the 1920s to life,

7:05:32 > 7:05:34and the creator of those costumes is

7:05:34 > 7:05:37Oscar-winning designer Colleen Atwood.

7:05:37 > 7:05:40In terms of the difference between the costumes Muggles wear

7:05:40 > 7:05:43and the wizards wear, what are those differences?

7:05:43 > 7:05:46It's a blurred line between the Muggles and the wizards because,

7:05:46 > 7:05:49in this film, the wizards are living amongst the Muggles.

7:05:49 > 7:05:52You work with hundreds of actors throughout the year,

7:05:52 > 7:05:54so I imagine some mishaps do take place.

7:05:54 > 7:05:59We have a thing in the movie where the actors magic themselves

7:05:59 > 7:06:03in and out of costumes, but we realised they didn't have underwear

7:06:03 > 7:06:06that went under it, so that step of the magic was, like, "Oh!"

7:06:06 > 7:06:09So we had to fake that one!

7:06:09 > 7:06:13Colleen, I would love to look like somebody from the 1920s.

7:06:13 > 7:06:15Where can I go?

7:06:15 > 7:06:18- If you go right over there, we'll fix you up.- Amazing.

7:06:18 > 7:06:22That's right, I'm about to experience a glimpse of what

7:06:22 > 7:06:26it's like to star in a magical blockbuster movie.

7:06:27 > 7:06:29Make-up and costume is done.

7:06:29 > 7:06:31Now I'm just going to magic myself on the set.

7:06:31 > 7:06:33HE SNAPS HIS FINGERS

7:06:35 > 7:06:37I'll just walk.

7:06:38 > 7:06:40I saw its eyes.

7:06:40 > 7:06:42Shining wide eyes.

7:06:42 > 7:06:44And it dove down on the ground.

7:06:44 > 7:06:47CRACKING AND BANGING

7:06:49 > 7:06:51ROARING

7:07:01 > 7:07:02Thank you, sir.

7:07:03 > 7:07:08This set is just incredible. It looks exactly like the real thing.

7:07:10 > 7:07:11And...action.

7:07:11 > 7:07:15But the guys who star in Fantastic Beasts for real

7:07:15 > 7:07:18are Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston.

7:07:18 > 7:07:22We got the chance to chat to them and give them a certain badge.

7:07:22 > 7:07:25- Thank you.- These are like the most extraordinary...

7:07:25 > 7:07:27I can't believe I've got a Blue Peter badge.

7:07:27 > 7:07:30So, what was it like for them, working on such a huge production?

7:07:30 > 7:07:32What was amazing for us is,

7:07:32 > 7:07:35I thought when you work on a film that's this big and magical,

7:07:35 > 7:07:38that the guys in charge of it would say, "This is how we do it."

7:07:38 > 7:07:41But actually, the director kind of gave us freedom.

7:07:41 > 7:07:44You are not just alone around the green screens.

7:07:44 > 7:07:48There are people playing with you and helping you see the creatures.

7:07:48 > 7:07:51They also allowed us to see all the designs, so there are these

7:07:51 > 7:07:54amazing departments who start months before you make the film.

7:07:54 > 7:07:57They've done all these drawings and they've gone through

7:07:57 > 7:08:00the evolution of all these different ideas for all of the creatures,

7:08:00 > 7:08:01because JK Rowling, in the book

7:08:01 > 7:08:03Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them,

7:08:03 > 7:08:06describes them all so intricately that we had quite

7:08:06 > 7:08:09a good sense of what they looked like by the time we started filming.

7:08:09 > 7:08:12This place has absolutely blown my mind,

7:08:12 > 7:08:15but I haven't seen any fantastic beasts yet.

7:08:15 > 7:08:17I wonder where they might be hid...

7:08:17 > 7:08:19FLUTTERING

7:08:19 > 7:08:21Whoa.

7:08:21 > 7:08:23Whoa!

7:08:25 > 7:08:27ROARING

7:08:27 > 7:08:29ROARING STOPS

7:08:29 > 7:08:31It was open?

7:08:31 > 7:08:32Just a smidge.

7:08:32 > 7:08:34Mum, I was on a film set!

7:08:34 > 7:08:36Yes!

7:08:36 > 7:08:39Now, though, you have a five-minute warning, because you've got

7:08:39 > 7:08:43just less than five minutes to enter our baby animal adventures.

7:08:43 > 7:08:47Would you like to see a baby seal, a baby tiger or a baby okapi film?

7:08:47 > 7:08:51The choice is yours. Jump online and cast your vote and we'll find out

7:08:51 > 7:08:53which one you've chosen later on in the show.

7:08:53 > 7:08:55But also, stay tuned,

7:08:55 > 7:08:57because we have a beast of a competition.

7:08:57 > 7:08:59We're saying "beast" a lot today,

7:08:59 > 7:09:01because there are beasts right here in the studio.

7:09:01 > 7:09:04Not with me, not with Linds, not with Barney,

7:09:04 > 7:09:06but with animal expert Scott.

7:09:06 > 7:09:08Here he is. Scott, you're in the studio.

7:09:08 > 7:09:09Thank you so much for coming in.

7:09:09 > 7:09:12You seem to have forgotten to bring your first animal guest on.

7:09:12 > 7:09:14- No, he's definitely out.- Oh, yeah? - Turn round.

7:09:14 > 7:09:17Turn around? OK, let's see where he is. Here he is.

7:09:17 > 7:09:19Who's this, Scott?

7:09:19 > 7:09:20Hello, mate.

7:09:20 > 7:09:23Well, this here is Muscovado, and he is a sugar glider.

7:09:23 > 7:09:25Sugar gliders are a marsupial,

7:09:25 > 7:09:28which means they're a mammal that carry their babies in a pouch.

7:09:28 > 7:09:31- Like a kangaroo would? - Just like a kangaroo or a koala.

7:09:31 > 7:09:34I've fallen in love with him already today, by the way.

7:09:34 > 7:09:37But this marsupial's talent isn't hopping like a kangaroo,

7:09:37 > 7:09:40it's actually flying. Well, gliding, to be more precise.

7:09:40 > 7:09:42- The clue is kind of in the name, isn't it?- Yes.

7:09:42 > 7:09:43Oh, look! That is ridiculous.

7:09:43 > 7:09:46They have a flap of skin that goes from their front leg to their

7:09:46 > 7:09:49back leg, and turns them into a parachute, basically.

7:09:49 > 7:09:51They glide from tree to tree to evade predators.

7:09:51 > 7:09:55He is so amazing. And why "sugar"? What does that mean?

7:09:55 > 7:09:57That's pretty simple as well.

7:09:57 > 7:09:59They love to eat sugary snacks, so nectar, fruit.

7:09:59 > 7:10:01That's what they love to eat for their dinner.

7:10:01 > 7:10:04Oh! Can you stay forever? He's amazing.

7:10:04 > 7:10:07How far can he go when he goes for one of those big glides?

7:10:07 > 7:10:09They can glide for up to 50 metres,

7:10:09 > 7:10:11so that's, like, five double-decker buses.

7:10:11 > 7:10:13You are kidding! Let's have a look here.

7:10:13 > 7:10:16So, he has jumped off a tree, still has landed...

7:10:16 > 7:10:19It's like he's got wings.

7:10:19 > 7:10:20Still going.

7:10:20 > 7:10:22He is the ultimate glider.

7:10:22 > 7:10:25And then just lands on the tree so casually, no worries.

7:10:25 > 7:10:28So, he glides to get away from predators, but I've brought

7:10:28 > 7:10:31a different animal that evades predators in a different way.

7:10:31 > 7:10:32- Would you like to meet them? - I would.

7:10:32 > 7:10:35We've to do a shout-out to Scott. He did a little nervous wee -

7:10:35 > 7:10:38not Scott, Muscovado - right before we came on camera then.

7:10:38 > 7:10:41- All over Scott's arm. I'm sorry about that.- I'm used to it.

7:10:41 > 7:10:43Let's look at our next guest.

7:10:43 > 7:10:46I'm going to pop him back into his little nocturnal habitat.

7:10:46 > 7:10:47Oh, I love him. Bye. See you later.

7:10:47 > 7:10:49OK, so what have we got in the box?

7:10:49 > 7:10:52The next animal is hiding in there.

7:10:52 > 7:10:54Can you see what's next?

7:10:54 > 7:10:57I can see twigs, moss, some leaves.

7:10:57 > 7:10:59Where are they? Hello! He's moving.

7:10:59 > 7:11:01There are actually two real live animals.

7:11:01 > 7:11:04We've got to Vietnamese mossy frogs.

7:11:04 > 7:11:07They are amazing. Can we get them out and have a look at them?

7:11:07 > 7:11:09- Don't get them out! - No, Barney is scared of them.

7:11:09 > 7:11:11It'll be all right, we've got Scott here.

7:11:11 > 7:11:14So, their way of evading predators is awesome camouflage.

7:11:14 > 7:11:16See how well camouflaged they are?

7:11:16 > 7:11:18Do they feel like moss?

7:11:18 > 7:11:20They feel like moss, they look like moss.

7:11:20 > 7:11:23Their green skin looks like moss, and when they get scared when

7:11:23 > 7:11:26- they see a predator, they act dead, like this.- You're kidding?

7:11:26 > 7:11:29So, he's playing dead, he's looking like a piece of moss,

7:11:29 > 7:11:32and then, predator's gone, and he turns back into a frog.

7:11:32 > 7:11:33Come here, mate. Hello.

7:11:33 > 7:11:35Welcome to Blue Peter.

7:11:35 > 7:11:38Oh, he's lovely. They've got big, bulgy eyes as well.

7:11:38 > 7:11:40They've got gigantic eyes,

7:11:40 > 7:11:42so they can see in the dark and see predators.

7:11:42 > 7:11:45That's when they're going to play dead or stay still...

7:11:45 > 7:11:48- Oh! Where's he off to? - ..and look like a piece of moss.

7:11:48 > 7:11:51He's amazing. And where would he live, normally?

7:11:51 > 7:11:53Not in this box, presumably?

7:11:53 > 7:11:56No. These guys come from mountainous rainforests.

7:11:56 > 7:11:58They like to live in places where it's moist,

7:11:58 > 7:12:00so they like to live near rivers,

7:12:00 > 7:12:02and can you see on the end of their toes?

7:12:02 > 7:12:05Little suction cups so that they can climb over the wet rocks and twigs.

7:12:05 > 7:12:07They're amazing.

7:12:07 > 7:12:10And they camouflage a bit like Radzi today, don't they?

7:12:10 > 7:12:12Just blending into the background. It's amazing.

7:12:12 > 7:12:15Shall I put him back in? Pop in. Come on. Do a little jump...

7:12:15 > 7:12:18- Whoa!- OK, he's just gone on to the set there.

7:12:18 > 7:12:19That's fine, we've got him.

7:12:19 > 7:12:22- We rescued him. He's fine. - Everybody's calm. Stay there.

7:12:22 > 7:12:25- We're going to pop the lid on. - Let's have a look at our next guest.

7:12:25 > 7:12:27He really is a monster, OK?

7:12:27 > 7:12:29I've got to put some special gloves on for this.

7:12:29 > 7:12:31Should I be scared?

7:12:31 > 7:12:35- Maybe.- Oh? You didn't say that in rehearsal. That's slightly worrying.

7:12:35 > 7:12:38I'm just going to take a step back.

7:12:38 > 7:12:42Who is this? He really is a monster, isn't he?

7:12:42 > 7:12:45Well, I've saved the best beast till last.

7:12:45 > 7:12:48So, here we've got Jesus, and Jesus is a Gila monster.

7:12:48 > 7:12:50- Jesus is terrifying.- He is.

7:12:50 > 7:12:53And he is North America's largest lizard,

7:12:53 > 7:12:55and the most amazing thing about him is,

7:12:55 > 7:12:58he is one of the only venomous lizards in the world.

7:12:58 > 7:13:02In fact, his venom is neurotoxic, exactly the same as a rattlesnake.

7:13:02 > 7:13:04- That's why we're wearing the gloves today.- Yes.

7:13:04 > 7:13:06Got to keep those gloves on for safety,

7:13:06 > 7:13:08which is why I'm not going to hold him today.

7:13:08 > 7:13:11- I don't think that's the best idea. - You can see his mouth opening.

7:13:11 > 7:13:13Why is he doing that? Yawning?

7:13:13 > 7:13:16If he wanted to protect himself, he'd use his really strong jaws

7:13:16 > 7:13:18to be able to bite me, but I'm not sure he does.

7:13:18 > 7:13:21- But he's nice and happy in the Blue Peter studio?- He is indeed.

7:13:21 > 7:13:23He's not going to camouflage very well,

7:13:23 > 7:13:26because he's orange and black, so that won't be very good.

7:13:26 > 7:13:28No, the Gila monster does the opposite, so instead of having

7:13:28 > 7:13:31camouflage, like the frogs, he has got really bright colours.

7:13:31 > 7:13:34Instead of hiding, he wants all the other animals to see him,

7:13:34 > 7:13:37and he wants them to know that he's dangerous and if they try

7:13:37 > 7:13:38and mess with him,

7:13:38 > 7:13:40they probably can guess what's going to happen to them.

7:13:40 > 7:13:43I would not mess with him. Have you seen the size of his claws?

7:13:43 > 7:13:45They are ridiculous. Shall we put him back inside?

7:13:45 > 7:13:47Do you want me to pop him away?

7:13:47 > 7:13:49Yes, I'm not going to have a feel and I'm certainly not going

7:13:49 > 7:13:51to stroke him. He's fine there.

7:13:51 > 7:13:55Let's lock that cage and head over to the Big Badge Wall, which is

7:13:55 > 7:13:57covered in all your glorious post. Is he all right there, Scott?

7:13:57 > 7:13:59Yes, we're locking him up.

7:13:59 > 7:14:01Come with me, cos you'll love the Big Badge Wall this week.

7:14:01 > 7:14:04- Can you see that Radzi's here as well?- Where is he?

7:14:04 > 7:14:06I am not coming out unless the frogs have gone!

7:14:06 > 7:14:08The frogs are away. You can come out.

7:14:08 > 7:14:10There he is. It's fine.

7:14:10 > 7:14:13What have you done? No, there's not a frog in his hand.

7:14:13 > 7:14:15Let's take a look at this picture.

7:14:15 > 7:14:17Sam from Leeds has sent in a picture of meerkats,

7:14:17 > 7:14:19but it's the three of us as meerkats.

7:14:19 > 7:14:21It might be my favourite picture yet.

7:14:21 > 7:14:24There's Radz, Lindsey, and me going, "Say what?"

7:14:24 > 7:14:26Thank you very much, Simon.

7:14:26 > 7:14:28You've got a green badge on its way to you.

7:14:28 > 7:14:31Speaking of green badges, Libby from Cumbria has sent in this.

7:14:31 > 7:14:34- You love 3-D postcards. - I do like 3-D postcards.

7:14:34 > 7:14:36And look, it's got a fluffy tail. It's a red squirrel,

7:14:36 > 7:14:39- cos she sees them when she's out on dog walks.- That's awesome.

7:14:39 > 7:14:42And the sun is shining bright, made out of foil. Well done.

7:14:42 > 7:14:46Now, a little while ago on Blue Peter, we met the cutest armadillo

7:14:46 > 7:14:48of all time, called Melon.

7:14:48 > 7:14:52There's Lindsey holding Melon, there, inside her shell.

7:14:52 > 7:14:54Well, Joseph from Gloucester,

7:14:54 > 7:14:57you've recreated Melon beautifully in this fantastic picture.

7:14:57 > 7:15:00You've got a blue badge coming your way very soon, my friend.

7:15:00 > 7:15:03- Congrats. - And you guys are going to like this.

7:15:03 > 7:15:05Hyanne has drawn a picture of her friend's dog,

7:15:05 > 7:15:07because it reminds her of Iggy!

7:15:07 > 7:15:09Amazing.

7:15:09 > 7:15:12- Iggy, she'll be watching. Hello. Hi.- Hello, Iggy.- Hi, Iggs.

7:15:12 > 7:15:14Scott, thank you very much for being here today.

7:15:14 > 7:15:15It's been an absolute pleasure.

7:15:15 > 7:15:18- Can I point out how awesome Scott's hair is?- I know.

7:15:18 > 7:15:21Leopard-print hair. It's amazing. Thank you so much.

7:15:21 > 7:15:23And thanks for all your fab post. We love it.

7:15:23 > 7:15:25Now, if you like what's on the Big Badge Wall,

7:15:25 > 7:15:27you're going to love what's just over here.

7:15:27 > 7:15:28Shall we walk there, Barney?

7:15:28 > 7:15:30We'll have to, there's another camera there.

7:15:30 > 7:15:33So, we've got some BP fans in the studio, who are art lovers as well.

7:15:33 > 7:15:35Scarlett, hello, welcome to the show.

7:15:35 > 7:15:38Before we talk about your hand, let's look at your picture,

7:15:38 > 7:15:40- which earned your silver badge. Look at that.- Whoa!

7:15:40 > 7:15:42I've spotted Shelley, everybody.

7:15:42 > 7:15:44That is not it, there's another one.

7:15:44 > 7:15:46Scarlett, let's talk about your hand.

7:15:46 > 7:15:49I've made a snake, so I've done yellow and green for the beak...

7:15:49 > 7:15:51HISSING

7:15:51 > 7:15:53..and then I've used black to do the scales, and drawn an eye.

7:15:53 > 7:15:56- It's very good.- It's genius. - Carolyn, what you think?

7:15:56 > 7:15:57I think it's incredible.

7:15:57 > 7:16:00I really love all the different colours that she's got,

7:16:00 > 7:16:03all the different shades of green on those scales. It's amazing.

7:16:03 > 7:16:05You should be a TV presenter, Scarlett.

7:16:05 > 7:16:07Right on camera two, that was. It was a great shot.

7:16:07 > 7:16:09Max, let's take a look at yours. What have you got?

7:16:09 > 7:16:12- I've made a dog. - BARKING

7:16:12 > 7:16:14So, for the base, I've painted my arm brown,

7:16:14 > 7:16:17and then I have got the black polka-dots.

7:16:17 > 7:16:19And you can also open its mouth.

7:16:19 > 7:16:22It makes its own sound effects as well! What a job there.

7:16:22 > 7:16:25You've sent us a picture, Max, which is the three of us,

7:16:25 > 7:16:27we're at the front,

7:16:27 > 7:16:30we're saying good night to Shelley, because she's sleeping.

7:16:30 > 7:16:32It's very cool. There's no doubting your artistic skills.

7:16:32 > 7:16:35Now, Wilf, you also sent us a picture.

7:16:35 > 7:16:37Let's take a look at that one here.

7:16:37 > 7:16:39And what is that a picture of, there, Wilf?

7:16:39 > 7:16:42- I think we know the answer.- Shelley. - We've found Shelley, everybody.

7:16:42 > 7:16:44Third time! What's on your hand?

7:16:44 > 7:16:46I've done a seagull.

7:16:46 > 7:16:49- SQUAWKING - I did the body and the neck white,

7:16:49 > 7:16:50and the beak orangey-gold.

7:16:50 > 7:16:52It is brilliant.

7:16:52 > 7:16:55Obviously, Carolyn, you're giving everyone top tips here,

7:16:55 > 7:16:58and these are quite simple to do, because you're doing foliage

7:16:58 > 7:17:00and feathers and fur.

7:17:00 > 7:17:03If somebody wanted to try drawing an animal's face, is that easy to do?

7:17:03 > 7:17:06Are there things that will help them out?

7:17:06 > 7:17:08I think it's just a case of practising, again.

7:17:08 > 7:17:11So, all you do is work your hand into lots of different shapes,

7:17:11 > 7:17:13work out which one works best.

7:17:13 > 7:17:16If you're going to have a beak or like the dog here,

7:17:16 > 7:17:18you can make the mouth move or their ear wiggle,

7:17:18 > 7:17:20and just have loads of fun with it,

7:17:20 > 7:17:23so you can play around with all different patterns and colours.

7:17:23 > 7:17:26You could do not just a seagull, you could do a parrot or pigeon.

7:17:26 > 7:17:29The dog could have white fur and black spots.

7:17:29 > 7:17:31- You can have as much fun with it as you like.- Lots you can try at home.

7:17:31 > 7:17:34Carolyn, thank you. Scarlett, Max and Wilf, thank you too.

7:17:34 > 7:17:37If you want to have a go at doing some painting yourself,

7:17:37 > 7:17:40why not give it a go? You've got to use face-paints.

7:17:40 > 7:17:43Don't go into the shed and get that paint pot from 1995.

7:17:43 > 7:17:46Get some proper face-paints, they're designed for the job,

7:17:46 > 7:17:49have a go and send us your pictures, please. We'd love to hear from you.

7:17:49 > 7:17:51All week, you've been voting for which Blue Peter baby animal film...

7:17:51 > 7:17:55- Which one was it?!- Of course it was the tigers.- Ah...- Of course it was.

7:17:55 > 7:17:56Here they are. I want one.

7:18:01 > 7:18:03This is Woburn Safari Park in Bedfordshire

7:18:03 > 7:18:06and, over its 3,000 acres, you can find elephants,

7:18:06 > 7:18:09white rhinos and bears.

7:18:09 > 7:18:12And they're amazing. But they're not why I'm here.

7:18:16 > 7:18:20I'm here to see what I think is one of the most stunning animals

7:18:20 > 7:18:23in the whole world, the Siberian tiger.

7:18:23 > 7:18:25And he is right there.

7:18:25 > 7:18:28Beautiful, but incredibly rare,

7:18:28 > 7:18:31the Siberian tiger is under threat of extinction.

7:18:31 > 7:18:34They are at the rarest big cats in the world,

7:18:34 > 7:18:37with only around 520 left in the wild.

7:18:37 > 7:18:39So, in places like Woburn,

7:18:39 > 7:18:42the race is really on to try and save the Siberian tiger,

7:18:42 > 7:18:46which is why the next guys I'm about to meet are such great news.

7:18:48 > 7:18:50I think they are down this corridor here.

7:18:50 > 7:18:52Oh!

7:18:52 > 7:18:53Look at them.

7:18:53 > 7:18:55Hey, guys.

7:18:55 > 7:18:58Wow! Mum is huge.

7:18:58 > 7:19:02Four-year-old tigress Minerva had two healthy cubs,

7:19:02 > 7:19:05which is great news for the world's tiger population

7:19:05 > 7:19:07and for their keeper, Chris.

7:19:07 > 7:19:10Chris, tell us more about these beautiful Siberian tigers.

7:19:10 > 7:19:14Why are they so threatened as a species?

7:19:14 > 7:19:17Due to habitat loss and hunting for the coats

7:19:17 > 7:19:19and hunting for their body parts,

7:19:19 > 7:19:22so it's really important that we're trying to conserve these species.

7:19:22 > 7:19:24It's really sad, isn't it?

7:19:24 > 7:19:25Why do you keep them in here,

7:19:25 > 7:19:27and how come they're not running around outside?

7:19:27 > 7:19:30So, for their first 12 weeks, we need to keep them nice and safe,

7:19:30 > 7:19:32until they've had their full injections.

7:19:32 > 7:19:35So we keep them nice and secure in this tiger house.

7:19:35 > 7:19:37Then, in a few weeks' time,

7:19:37 > 7:19:41the cubs will be released into this nine-acre reserve.

7:19:41 > 7:19:45In the meantime, I get a chance to meet their dad, Elton.

7:19:45 > 7:19:47Elton, are you ready?

7:19:47 > 7:19:49I'll let him out. Elton, come on.

7:19:51 > 7:19:52Here we go!

7:19:52 > 7:19:54SHE GASPS

7:19:54 > 7:19:56Off he goes.

7:19:56 > 7:20:00Five weeks later, I'm back to see the cubs released into their

7:20:00 > 7:20:03new outdoor home for the very first time.

7:20:03 > 7:20:05Hey, Chris, how are these guys getting on?

7:20:05 > 7:20:07Yeah, really good. Doing really well.

7:20:07 > 7:20:10You can see they've grown quite a lot, quite playful.

7:20:10 > 7:20:13They're weighing in about 10-12 kilos at the moment,

7:20:13 > 7:20:15they're not feeding from Mum much at all.

7:20:15 > 7:20:18They're mainly on their meat. So we're ready to get them out.

7:20:18 > 7:20:21Have you given them the all-clear? Are they ready to go?

7:20:21 > 7:20:24Yes, all clear, all ready to go, so out into their main enclosure

7:20:24 > 7:20:27today and, hopefully, they'll have a nice run round.

7:20:27 > 7:20:31First, the cubs are removed from their den to a holding area.

7:20:33 > 7:20:37Then there's just one gate between them and their new enclosure.

7:20:37 > 7:20:42And guess who's got control of the gate? Me. I am so excited for this.

7:20:42 > 7:20:44Three, two, one...

7:20:46 > 7:20:49They've both gone back inside. They're nervous.

7:20:49 > 7:20:52Oh, here we go. One has gone through.

7:20:52 > 7:20:55Oh, the little shy one has gone straight through. Look at her go.

7:20:57 > 7:21:00Oh, you can see she's a little bit nervous.

7:21:00 > 7:21:02Go on, follow Mum.

7:21:04 > 7:21:07To get a closer look at how they're settling in,

7:21:07 > 7:21:10I need to join Chris in the safety of the car.

7:21:12 > 7:21:15So, what do you think these babies are feeling at this point?

7:21:15 > 7:21:17It's quite a big day for them.

7:21:17 > 7:21:19Yes, it's quite a big day for them.

7:21:19 > 7:21:22Obviously, in here, there are completely new smells

7:21:22 > 7:21:24and things to look at and things to explore,

7:21:24 > 7:21:27so they're going to be excited but also confused.

7:21:27 > 7:21:29It's a massive learning curve.

7:21:29 > 7:21:33It doesn't stop now, being out for the first time today, but it means

7:21:33 > 7:21:35that over the next few weeks, they've got loads to learn and see.

7:21:35 > 7:21:38They seem to be trying to hunt each other as well.

7:21:38 > 7:21:40They're messing about, aren't they?

7:21:40 > 7:21:43Yeah. They're doing exactly what we hoped they would do.

7:21:43 > 7:21:46Everything baby tigers should be doing.

7:21:46 > 7:21:49What a moment to witness this, to see them out and about,

7:21:49 > 7:21:52playing, so happy in their new enclosure.

7:21:52 > 7:21:54It's really lovely.

7:21:59 > 7:22:02What an experience this has been! Do you know what?

7:22:02 > 7:22:04I've loved making this film,

7:22:04 > 7:22:08because there are only about 520 Siberian tigers actually left

7:22:08 > 7:22:10in the wild, so these cubs that we've seen are

7:22:10 > 7:22:13so important for the tiger population.

7:22:13 > 7:22:17And we've been a small part of their journey - it's pretty cool.

7:22:17 > 7:22:19Pretty cool and pretty cute.

7:22:19 > 7:22:22- I love baby tigers.- I've had one of my brilliant ideas.- Uh-oh.

7:22:22 > 7:22:24You know how we have pets on the show?

7:22:24 > 7:22:27- Yeah. Where are you going with this? - Tigers - the next pet.

7:22:27 > 7:22:29- I don't know if that's allowed.- Why?

7:22:29 > 7:22:31I don't think we can have tigers in the BP studio.

7:22:31 > 7:22:33Have a look at how they're getting on now.

7:22:33 > 7:22:35They look even cuter. Look, they're all grown up.

7:22:35 > 7:22:39- Still playing as siblings, though. - Hang on, is that them now?- Yeah.

7:22:39 > 7:22:41- That's amazing.- They've got pretty big, haven't they?

7:22:41 > 7:22:43- Bit scarier than they were before, aren't they?- Wowsers.

7:22:43 > 7:22:46- They're huge.- Yeah. - The telly's over there.

7:22:46 > 7:22:48- Awesome. I've got a joke for you. - Yeah?

7:22:48 > 7:22:51What did the tiger say when he ate the clown?

7:22:51 > 7:22:52Um...don't know.

7:22:52 > 7:22:54This tastes funny.

7:22:54 > 7:22:57OK, we'll try again. I've got quite a good one.

7:22:57 > 7:22:59How do you count cows?

7:22:59 > 7:23:01I don't know.

7:23:01 > 7:23:02A cow-culator!

7:23:02 > 7:23:05Yeah, I think we need a bit of help, don't we?

7:23:05 > 7:23:07We are launching a brand-new competition -

7:23:13 > 7:23:15- We're giggling already! - It's that funny.

7:23:15 > 7:23:18You need to come up with three rib-tickling jokes that you think

7:23:18 > 7:23:20are awesome and hilarious.

7:23:20 > 7:23:23Write them down and then, if you're the winner, you might actually

7:23:26 > 7:23:28- By a celebrity person.- That's cool. - That's very cool.

7:23:28 > 7:23:31Also, the judges, let's talk about those for a second.

7:24:07 > 7:24:10OK. Let's break it down to three top tips.

7:24:24 > 7:24:26Best day of your life?
