:00:16. > :00:20.Peter, we will introduce you to this girl, Daisy Morris, a real-life

:00:20. > :00:23.dinosaur hunter. And I will take on a team of rugby league players in a

:00:23. > :00:33.wheelchair. And we have a food artist who makes amazing artwork

:00:33. > :00:48.

:00:48. > :00:54.using just food. Meat paste! It is using just food. Meat paste! It is

:00:54. > :01:00.today's live Blue Peter. You are watching Blue Peter. If your

:01:00. > :01:06.watch says 9.30, you need a new battery. Welcome. We have loads of

:01:06. > :01:10.cool stuff coming this afternoon. First, have a look at our big wall

:01:10. > :01:20.of fabulousness. Let's talk about what has been trending. Your

:01:20. > :01:20.

:01:20. > :01:25.butterfly cafes have been a big hit. We had 1211 of the contacting

:01:25. > :01:35.us this week. We love hearing from you. You are so creative. We have

:01:35. > :01:40.the be an Daisy here, who have sent us their butterfly cafes. That one

:01:40. > :01:49.is better than Helen's. She is wearing a lovely butterfly T-shirt.

:01:49. > :01:53.Down here, Juliet has made her butterfly cafe. It is brilliant.

:01:53. > :01:56.also showed you how to make a Father's Day card a few weeks ago.

:01:56. > :02:02.Loads of you made that, including Adam and Luke in Middlesex. They

:02:02. > :02:05.also used that design to make a birthday card. Hope you had fun.

:02:05. > :02:12.Check out how smiley and and her dad. She made a Father's Day card,

:02:12. > :02:16.and I think he is a satisfied customer. It was a great day for

:02:16. > :02:20.dads on Sunday, and the day after that was the 50th anniversary of the

:02:20. > :02:26.Blue Peter badge. On the 17th of June 1963, a lovely lady called

:02:26. > :02:29.Valerie Singleton, a legendary Blue Peter presenter, sent balloons like

:02:29. > :02:33.this into the sky. And that the bottom of the balloons, you can see

:02:33. > :02:37.a type. 10,000 of these were launched, and 3000 of the tags were

:02:37. > :02:41.found and sent back to television Centre. They were the first people

:02:41. > :02:48.to get a Blue Peter badge. You have been sending us some of your own

:02:48. > :02:53.stuff. Chloe, who was 13, sent us this Blue Peter badge marking 50

:02:53. > :03:02.years, so thank you very much. did the classic repeater ship on the

:03:02. > :03:08.bad, but it is actually a card. Talking of repeater badges, if you

:03:08. > :03:13.missed the show last week, you will not be aware that we are going to be

:03:13. > :03:16.introducing a brand-new Blue Peter badge. In two weeks' time, we will

:03:16. > :03:21.tell you everything you need to know about the all-new Blue Peter sport

:03:21. > :03:26.badges. We will be at Wimbledon in a couple of weeks' time on the 4th of

:03:26. > :03:29.July. We will be presenting this show live, and we will tell you

:03:29. > :03:36.everything you need to know. They will only be available for three

:03:36. > :03:40.months of the year. How exciting is that? It is very exciting. And next

:03:40. > :03:46.week, it is the start of your summer holidays if you are in Scotland.

:03:46. > :03:51.That is a good reason to e-mail us. We are live. Let us know what you

:03:51. > :03:55.are looking forward to and why. Tell us what you are going to get up to,

:03:55. > :03:59.or you might just be looking forward to the weekend. We will try and read

:03:59. > :04:09.as many e-mails as we can before the end of the show. Now, we know you

:04:09. > :04:14.like sport. When we heard about a sport that involves nerve cells real

:04:14. > :04:22.and wheels of steel, we had to check it out. It is wheelchair rugby

:04:22. > :04:26.league. I have always loved sport. One of

:04:26. > :04:30.the great things is that there are so much brightly. Some things are

:04:30. > :04:34.gentle and slow. Some, you can play by yourself. Some require you to

:04:34. > :04:39.stay quite a way from your opponent, and some are nothing like that at

:04:39. > :04:49.all. This is wheelchair rugby league, and it is not for the

:04:49. > :04:49.

:04:49. > :04:53.faint-hearted. These guys are the wheelchair rugby league team, and a

:04:53. > :05:00.little over a week, I will join them in an actual match, provided I can

:05:00. > :05:06.survive training. Here to help me come to terms with what is in store

:05:06. > :05:09.is player manager Phil Roberts. What am I letting myself in for? A bit of

:05:09. > :05:15.exercise. It is probably unlike most things you have done before. I have

:05:15. > :05:18.never been in a wheelchair before. The hardest thing to get used to is

:05:18. > :05:24.holding the ball, catching and passing and still using your hands

:05:24. > :05:28.to move. The rules are the same as rugby league. You have six tackles

:05:28. > :05:34.to advance down the field and try and score. The ball must be passed

:05:34. > :05:42.backwards. And tackles must be made with the tag. I have to get your

:05:42. > :05:46.tag? As soon as you have done that, I am tackled. I need to learn the

:05:47. > :05:53.rules and the skills, so if you lead the way, I shall follow. Before I

:05:53. > :05:57.can Inc about being skilful, I have to learn how to move the chair. A

:05:57. > :06:03.bit of course that time. Now I have to learn how to pass the ball whilst

:06:03. > :06:08.moving. This is going to be tricky. So I am not the best yet, but I will

:06:08. > :06:13.learn, and there is no better way to learn than in a practice match.

:06:13. > :06:17.Helen did really well. She picked up the chair skills quickly. She has

:06:17. > :06:24.been a bit of rugby before, so she knew what to do in terms of the

:06:24. > :06:33.basic rules. She was not afraid to get stuck in. The game will be very

:06:33. > :06:35.different. Everybody had a laugh. We have not been defeated yet this

:06:35. > :06:42.season, and we hope not to be defeated next Saturday. So no

:06:42. > :06:49.pressure on her, but I am sure she is looking forward to it. I have had

:06:49. > :06:53.a go, and I loved it. Roll on, Saturday. It is match day. Time to

:06:53. > :07:00.put my limited skills to the test and see if they are good enough in a

:07:00. > :07:05.competitive game. So, I have two spec haters today. My dog, and my

:07:05. > :07:10.fiance. My fiance plays for the warrant and wolves, so he knows a

:07:10. > :07:15.fair bit about rugby league, or so he tells me. His advice was, don't

:07:15. > :07:20.be rubbish, you will let me down. How is that for a pep talk? I didn't

:07:20. > :07:29.think I would be nervous, but I am, because this is an actual match in

:07:29. > :07:36.their league. They were saying the other players will get thrashed. I

:07:36. > :07:46.was thinking, oh my god. I want to win. You know what I am like.

:07:46. > :07:52.

:07:52. > :08:02.two, one! Well, I caught it. I got tackled. Stay on the outside. They

:08:02. > :08:06.

:08:06. > :08:10.scored. It was my fault. Another try on my side! Was that my fault again?

:08:10. > :08:18.It is fair to say that a lot of their tries are happening on my

:08:18. > :08:28.side. Second half, time to do better. I am wriggling. She is

:08:28. > :08:36.

:08:36. > :08:40.getting the hang of it now. I think! I set that up! So close. Good hands.

:08:40. > :08:44.Full-time, and we have one! I didn't know what to expect when I came here

:08:44. > :08:49.will stop I certainly didn't expect to have such a laugh, and it is not

:08:49. > :08:52.often that you can combine serious sport with having a giggle, that

:08:52. > :08:56.these lot managed to pull it off. A massive thank you to everybody

:08:56. > :09:00.involved in wheelchair rugby league. I loved it.

:09:00. > :09:05.Now, you don't have to use a wheelchair in your everyday life to

:09:05. > :09:12.get involved in that sport. Able and disabled people play alongside each

:09:12. > :09:20.other, so get involved. Those guys were so patient. Good luck for the

:09:20. > :09:24.World Cup in the summer. Your fiance was looking quite proud. He kept

:09:24. > :09:28.telling me to get off. Let's talk about something that is close to my

:09:28. > :09:33.heart, food. When I was little, I used to play with my food, like

:09:33. > :09:37.making faces with the sausage. But I got told off for that. You still do

:09:37. > :09:43.it in restaurants! Well, our next guest has made a career out of it.

:09:43. > :09:49.She is a food artist and she doesn't get told off. It is prudent! --

:09:49. > :09:57.prudence. So the one thing you don't want to mix with food is hair, but

:09:57. > :10:02.unfortunately, he is here. I know you are a showbiz bridge, but first,

:10:02. > :10:05.let's talk about prudence. How did you become a food artist? I got

:10:05. > :10:12.bored of traditional media, so during my arts degree, I decided to

:10:12. > :10:19.use some food. I liked the idea that I could eat my artwork. This is a

:10:20. > :10:29.tiger. What is it made of? Peanuts. They look really small, but how big

:10:29. > :10:36.is that in real life? It is three metres by two metres. This one is

:10:36. > :10:44.Big Ben, made out of? Sandwiches. Sandwiches are mainly bred, but you

:10:44. > :10:48.can put stuff in them. So we have an idea of what you create. Today you

:10:48. > :10:51.are going to show us a simpler version of food art, but it looks

:10:52. > :10:58.fantastic. We are going to combine something I am scared of, which is

:10:58. > :11:03.spiders, that we will make them out of fruit. I am scared of fruit.

:11:03. > :11:09.to your happy place. What we start with? We have got some strawberries,

:11:09. > :11:15.some black plums and some currents. We need to make the body first.

:11:15. > :11:20.what do you use the straw before, his thorax? That is the technical

:11:20. > :11:30.name for the end of the spider full is up abdomen. Using the cocktail

:11:30. > :11:41.

:11:41. > :11:45.play on someone's fear like that. So, you have exhibitions as an

:11:45. > :11:51.artist. How does that work, because food goes off? How does it stay

:11:51. > :11:57.fresh? Well, it gets eaten, so it is not there for long but over giving

:11:57. > :12:00.is documented. And people get to eat it. So if you have a display for a

:12:00. > :12:06.few days and they eat everything on the first day, you have no display

:12:06. > :12:13.left. You could use long life milk. But what could you create out of

:12:13. > :12:18.that? I wanted to have a gallery for licking the Mona Lisa on the neck.

:12:18. > :12:28.She is not made of food. But you could make her out of food. Cheese

:12:28. > :12:31.

:12:31. > :12:37.would be good. Through! So we have cocktails pics and some craft wire.

:12:37. > :12:47.Yes, I like using the craft wire, because it gives realistic tarantula

:12:47. > :12:49.

:12:49. > :12:58.legs. Could you use it for rabbit droppings? No, currents. Would you

:12:58. > :13:06.eat rabbit droppings? Not again!I can imagine! Here are some I made

:13:06. > :13:12.earlier. I hear you have done stuff with pizzas in the past. Could you

:13:12. > :13:18.elaborate? I have made lots of pizza artwork. This is a famous picture by

:13:18. > :13:28.Van Gogh called Sunflowers. I suppose we could call him Van Scoff!

:13:28. > :13:30.

:13:30. > :13:38.Very clever. So we thread the currents onto our fruity thorax.

:13:38. > :13:47.you eat them, even though they are on that wire? Yes.Like with a cabal

:13:47. > :13:53.of. A current key about. You can find out how to do this on our

:13:53. > :13:57.website. But because you are such a special guest today, Hacker, we have

:13:57. > :14:03.asked if prudence would do something involving food, maybe a portrait. So

:14:03. > :14:12.you have brought a treat along? have something special. What is it

:14:12. > :14:16.made from? Is it made from meat? Meat paste? Don't get too excited.

:14:16. > :14:26.Stage and to find out what it is. Now we will go from small art to

:14:26. > :14:27.

:14:27. > :14:31.really big heart. Give me some and doesn't land that inspires

:14:31. > :14:37.artists to pick up their brushes and pains. So many scenes make the

:14:37. > :14:40.perfect pick Joe, like this stunning landscape. And it is not as

:14:40. > :14:50.landscapes. Artist 's are always trying to catch the complexity of

:14:50. > :14:52.the human face to create that perfect portrait. What about that?

:14:52. > :14:57.Basically, art is about getting something interesting onto the

:14:57. > :15:01.canvas. When you hear the word converse, you probably think about a

:15:01. > :15:05.piece of a three paper, or maybe even bigger will stop but have you

:15:05. > :15:10.ever seen a canvas that is that big? Yes, this is the size of a

:15:10. > :15:13.building, and the artist in charge is Louis. He is putting the

:15:13. > :15:19.finishing touches to part of his project, and he has asked me to

:15:19. > :15:23.help. His festival is a celebration of urban art in Bristol, with more

:15:23. > :15:26.than 300 artists attracting 30,000 visitors. Usually, painting on walls

:15:26. > :15:36.without permission is against the law, but all of the artist here have

:15:36. > :15:37.

:15:37. > :15:42.been invited to work in these public spaces. Lilly is a regular at the

:15:42. > :15:49.festival. His art is often inspired by endangered animals. This year it

:15:49. > :15:55.is all about the gazelle. I know that we are short of time. I am

:15:55. > :16:01.ready to crack on and help you out. First we get the masks on for

:16:01. > :16:11.protection. Normally you can draw with pencil and so you can rub it

:16:11. > :16:11.

:16:11. > :16:16.out if you make a mistake. But you cannot do that here. You can just go

:16:16. > :16:23.over it. If you go outside the lines that you have sketched out, that is

:16:23. > :16:32.different. You have to figure out how to make it work. Show me what to

:16:32. > :16:39.do and I will do what ever I can. Already I have seen different

:16:39. > :16:47.techniques. How to look cool interface mask but also how to blend

:16:47. > :16:52.colours. There are many different ways to do it. You can blend and

:16:52. > :16:59.dust and do all kinds of creative effect. Hopefully there will not be

:16:59. > :17:09.too many mistakes. Next we learn how to make the impression of further on

:17:09. > :17:10.

:17:10. > :17:16.the gazelle using light strokes. A bit of blending. What do you think?

:17:16. > :17:22.It is not bad for a first attempt. will take that as a compliment. This

:17:22. > :17:28.unique form of street art has been around for quite some time. Urban or

:17:28. > :17:34.street art has its roots in cave paintings. But the pig chewers have

:17:34. > :17:40.come a long way since. -- -- pictures. Street art stretches right

:17:40. > :17:45.around the world from derelict buildings to forgotten alleyways. It

:17:45. > :17:50.is honoured with a sense of humour, is strong attitude and often some

:17:50. > :17:55.surrealism. Urban art has recently been made popular. Some of the works

:17:55. > :18:05.have been displayed in galleries and sold in auctions for hundreds of

:18:05. > :18:05.

:18:05. > :18:14.thousands of pounds. It looks almost finished. It is getting there. The

:18:14. > :18:20.shading looks incredible. Thank you for letting me get involved, it has

:18:20. > :18:25.been a pleasure. There is just one last thing to do and that is to

:18:25. > :18:31.frame it. I had such a great day with so many

:18:31. > :18:38.creative people. But please do not go painting on the side of buildings

:18:38. > :18:43.because you're not allowed. I would like to go and paint some theatre

:18:43. > :18:49.curtains over at your front door! That would be amazing but you're not

:18:49. > :18:57.allowed. Now something completely different. You might have seen the

:18:57. > :19:02.trailers for a brand new show called Blue Peter, you decide. Ten hopefuls

:19:02. > :19:07.will be set a series of challenges. Then they go before judges and they

:19:07. > :19:17.are whittled down to three. Then you get to pick who you want to be the

:19:17. > :19:21.next Blue Peter resent buying voting online. Here is a preview.

:19:21. > :19:30.It has been called the best television job in the world. It is

:19:30. > :19:35.the most iconic children's show the UK has ever seen. Incredible people,

:19:36. > :19:45.laces and stories are all part of the day job. We do get to do some

:19:46. > :19:46.

:19:46. > :19:54.amazing things. That is amazing. These are the only people who have

:19:54. > :20:01.done it. Until now. Blue Peter is looking for a brand-new resent.

:20:01. > :20:06.20,000 people got in touch but just ten made it through. These ten will

:20:06. > :20:16.face a series of gruelling challenges. Across the country from

:20:16. > :20:19.

:20:19. > :20:23.the depths of Cornwall, to the top of the tower. Follow us straight on

:20:24. > :20:33.the skywalk. There are presenting skills will be put to the test at

:20:34. > :20:34.

:20:34. > :20:38.every turn. Everyone has their own unique thing. Each week they will be

:20:38. > :20:46.scrutinised by our expert judges, Eamonn Holmes, Myleene Klass and Cel

:20:46. > :20:50.Spelman. Only the best will survive. But in the end it is all down to

:20:50. > :20:58.June as ultimately you as the viewers will choose who gets the

:20:58. > :21:06.job. Who will be your new Blue Peter presenter? This is Blue Peter, you

:21:06. > :21:11.decide. It really is the best job in the world. If you want to find out

:21:11. > :21:19.more make sure it that you watched a brand-new series five o'clock on

:21:19. > :21:23.Monday. And if you cannot wait then do not worry, head over to the

:21:23. > :21:33.website to find out more. It is a massive opportunity for everyone

:21:33. > :21:38.involved. At the start of the show you said you would introduce us to a

:21:38. > :21:48.dinosaur Hunter. She is called Daisy Morris. And she made a ground

:21:48. > :21:48.

:21:48. > :21:52.wrecking discovery. This is Daisy. She is nine years old and has

:21:52. > :21:57.monsters under her bed. Thankfully they have in bed for millions of

:21:57. > :22:01.years. They are false. That she found on the beach close to the Isle

:22:01. > :22:10.of Wight where she lives. Then she found one that was a little bit

:22:10. > :22:18.special. What happened a few years ago on this beach? I came down with

:22:18. > :22:25.my mother and for some bones sticking out. I dug them out.

:22:25. > :22:33.did you know it was a dinosaur? was hard like rock. Who did you take

:22:33. > :22:41.it to? Martin Simpson. Martin Simpson is a dinosaur expert known

:22:41. > :22:47.as fossil man round these parts. Hello. You have bought some pictures

:22:47. > :22:55.so we can actually see what Daisy found on the beach. These are the

:22:55. > :23:02.ones that she found. It is a flying dinosaur. What was the process once

:23:02. > :23:06.Daisy brought it to you. I took it to the team at Southampton

:23:06. > :23:12.University and one of the guys there spent three years studying it.

:23:12. > :23:19.discovered it was a new species, and a new group of dinosaur. The

:23:19. > :23:25.fossilised Brown fragment is a very important scientific find. -- --

:23:25. > :23:31.bone fragment. It has got a very technical name and that was given to

:23:31. > :23:40.it to celebrate the fact that it was found by Daisy. But also to describe

:23:40. > :23:44.what it is. How do you feel about that? Excited. So it is time for me

:23:44. > :23:50.with the help of my expert guides to become a dinosaur Hunter for the

:23:50. > :23:58.day. So you do not have to go digging, many of the fossils are

:23:58. > :24:06.close to the surface? What about this one? That is quite light and it

:24:06. > :24:14.does crumble. Bone is much harder. Is this a foot went? It is an actual

:24:14. > :24:24.foot went. The dinosaur would have been about 30 metres. It is amazing.

:24:24. > :24:26.

:24:26. > :24:34.An actual dinosaur foot print right there. I have found the tools of a T

:24:35. > :24:41.Rex dinosaur. I have not quite got the hang of fossil hunting yet! But

:24:41. > :24:51.soon we make a dinosaur related discovery. That is something really

:24:51. > :24:57.special. Part of a crocodile. Even a tiny fragment like that, you can

:24:57. > :25:02.tell by the shape. So we had crocodiles and dinosaurs living on

:25:02. > :25:08.the Isle of Wight. You can spend quite a lot of time searching and

:25:08. > :25:12.you can get a bit fed up. So when you do find something it is a

:25:12. > :25:22.feeling like no other. It is a real achievement because you have spent
