0:00:59 > 0:01:00We like that a lot.
0:01:00 > 0:01:02As well as that,
0:01:02 > 0:01:04Radzi and I go head-to-head in a very exciting golf challenge.
0:01:04 > 0:01:07- It's pretty serious and pretty fun. - It is a lot of fun.
0:01:07 > 0:01:09We also go behind the scenes at London 2017 to see how the
0:01:09 > 0:01:13iconic London stadium goes through a whole lot of changes.
0:01:13 > 0:01:18And this lovely lady, we call her Shelley, where is she?
0:01:18 > 0:01:20She's somewhere in today's show.
0:01:20 > 0:01:22If you see her, jump on to the fanclub
0:01:22 > 0:01:24and let us know via a comment.
0:01:24 > 0:01:25Radz, she's off.
0:01:25 > 0:01:28I really am so excited. Can we just reveal the winner
0:01:28 > 0:01:30or can we at least have a sneak peek at the competition, please?
0:01:30 > 0:01:33Go on, then, Linds. OK, so back in May, as you well know,
0:01:33 > 0:01:35we launched the fantastic competition called
0:01:35 > 0:01:38Design A Dragon, giving you the chance to design
0:01:38 > 0:01:41a dragon that will sit in pride of place on the great pagoda
0:01:41 > 0:01:44in the Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew.
0:01:44 > 0:01:46- So, do you want to see the top 30? - Come on, let's do it.
0:01:46 > 0:01:51- Let's see them.- These look amazing, don't they, Radz?- They really do.
0:01:51 > 0:01:53This is the six-to-eight-year-old category
0:01:53 > 0:01:55and the quality is just off the charts.
0:01:55 > 0:01:57It's funny you say that cos Cressida Cowell, one of the judges,
0:01:57 > 0:01:59actually said, "Have we got the wrong category?
0:01:59 > 0:02:02"Are these really the six-to-eights? They're that good."
0:02:02 > 0:02:04I'm not surprised. It really is fantastic, this competition.
0:02:04 > 0:02:06The second category is the 9-to-11-year-olds,
0:02:06 > 0:02:08and, once again, look at the colour, look at the detail.
0:02:08 > 0:02:10They've been so creative with their dragons.
0:02:10 > 0:02:13You can see ones that go invisible, Chinese lanterns, there's a guitar.
0:02:13 > 0:02:15There's a bit of everything.
0:02:15 > 0:02:17And the good news is, if you can see your entry on here,
0:02:17 > 0:02:21all top 30 entries get yourselves a fantastic competition winners'
0:02:21 > 0:02:23Blue Peter orange badge.
0:02:23 > 0:02:25And this, by the way, the 12-to-15-year-olds,
0:02:25 > 0:02:27these look like professional artists.
0:02:27 > 0:02:29I think professional artists did these.
0:02:29 > 0:02:32I don't believe this is the 12-to-15 category. It is that good.
0:02:32 > 0:02:33Look at some of those sketches.
0:02:33 > 0:02:35If you've been watching very carefully,
0:02:35 > 0:02:37you will have actually seen the winner of the competition.
0:02:37 > 0:02:39- Can I say who it is?- We can't.- Oh.
0:02:39 > 0:02:43But we will reveal at the end of the show the top six and indeed the
0:02:43 > 0:02:47winning entry so perhaps pause the show now, rewind,
0:02:47 > 0:02:49decide your winner and see if you got it right.
0:02:49 > 0:02:52And if you can see yours, massive, massive well done to you.
0:02:52 > 0:02:54- Linds, what we going to do now? - I don't know.
0:02:54 > 0:02:57- What are we going to do now, Radz? - I've had an idea.- OK.
0:02:57 > 0:03:00So today marks the start of the 146th Golf Open Championships.
0:03:00 > 0:03:02- Shall we reminisce? - Oh, we love golf.
0:03:02 > 0:03:05- Shall we get in the mood?- OK. - Let's play a bit of golf.
0:03:07 > 0:03:11- No, I said golf, Linds.- What? - Watch this. You'll like it.
0:03:11 > 0:03:14We've come to a very special golf club in Watford
0:03:14 > 0:03:17for another Blue Peter challenge.
0:03:17 > 0:03:21I've got a golf ball. All I need now is a tee to put it on.
0:03:21 > 0:03:24Well, Radzi, you are in luck.
0:03:24 > 0:03:27No, Linds, one of these.
0:03:27 > 0:03:30I know.
0:03:30 > 0:03:35Yes, so my golfing knowledge isn't great but this game is over 500
0:03:35 > 0:03:39years old and in that time, golf has developed a language all of its own.
0:03:41 > 0:03:45- Now some of the clubs are called irons.- That's right. Hello.
0:03:45 > 0:03:48No, Linds, this is an iron.
0:03:48 > 0:03:50- And some are known as woods. - That's right.
0:03:50 > 0:03:53No, THIS is a wood.
0:03:53 > 0:03:56And one is even called a sand-wedge.
0:03:56 > 0:03:59- Cheese ploughman's.- No.
0:04:01 > 0:04:04- I think I need some help. - Well, you're in luck, Linds.
0:04:04 > 0:04:08Let me introduce you to two of the country's best golfers,
0:04:08 > 0:04:12pro superstars Charley Hull
0:04:12 > 0:04:15and Andrew "Beef" Johnston.
0:04:15 > 0:04:17What is the very first thing we need to know?
0:04:17 > 0:04:20First thing we'll probably do is start off with the grip.
0:04:20 > 0:04:22You can't control how you hit the ball
0:04:22 > 0:04:24unless you hold the club correctly.
0:04:24 > 0:04:29- All right, first thing you do, left hand on top.- OK.- That's it.
0:04:29 > 0:04:32And then right hand comes on, connects, and then you can
0:04:32 > 0:04:35put your little finger over the top of that finger like that.
0:04:35 > 0:04:38- Oh, wow.- Or put them in between. Whatever's more comfortable.
0:04:38 > 0:04:41- That?- Yeah, more in between there.
0:04:41 > 0:04:44- Oof, OK.- That's the grip sorted.
0:04:44 > 0:04:47- What comes next? - For me, it's all about the stance.
0:04:47 > 0:04:51The stance - how you stand when you hit the ball.
0:04:51 > 0:04:55Without the right stance, you don't stand a chance.
0:04:55 > 0:04:58- First, put your feet together. - Oh, together, right.
0:04:58 > 0:05:02- Then move your left foot a little bit to the left.- OK.
0:05:02 > 0:05:05And then your right foot triple the distance to the right.
0:05:05 > 0:05:09- So actually my centre of balance is behind where the ball will be?- Yeah.
0:05:09 > 0:05:12That's a game-changer.
0:05:12 > 0:05:15Grip sorted. Stance sorted.
0:05:15 > 0:05:19- What happens next? - Time to hit the ball.
0:05:22 > 0:05:25That went a long way.
0:05:25 > 0:05:28In golf, the way you hit the ball is called your swing.
0:05:28 > 0:05:31Something Charley just made look so easy.
0:05:36 > 0:05:39Wow, it's amazing how difficult we are making this look.
0:05:42 > 0:05:44Just practise clipping the blue tee in the practice ring.
0:05:44 > 0:05:47- Without the ball there? - Yeah, without the ball.
0:05:49 > 0:05:51Yeah, like that, and then give it a go with the ball,
0:05:51 > 0:05:55so you're trying to just hit the same spot every time.
0:05:55 > 0:05:59Now I have a feel for where I'm aiming, things start to improve.
0:06:00 > 0:06:02- Good shot.- Woo!
0:06:04 > 0:06:07I actually can't believe I hit it.
0:06:08 > 0:06:10So Lindsey can actually hit it now.
0:06:10 > 0:06:12Charley, I need some help.
0:06:12 > 0:06:14Just good posture.
0:06:14 > 0:06:17Get your stance good and just feel confident in your swing.
0:06:19 > 0:06:21- Ooh, good, Radz.- Strike.
0:06:23 > 0:06:25Mum, look at that.
0:06:25 > 0:06:27- That was a really good strike.- Whoa!
0:06:27 > 0:06:29I like that one.
0:06:29 > 0:06:33Well, that's lucky because the golf doesn't end there, Radzi.
0:06:33 > 0:06:38As day becomes night, this place transforms into topgolf.
0:06:38 > 0:06:41Like normal golf but hi-tech.
0:06:41 > 0:06:45It's the perfect place for our next head-to-head challenge.
0:06:47 > 0:06:50Topgolf is played around the world and players earn
0:06:50 > 0:06:53points by getting their ball into different parts of the target.
0:06:53 > 0:06:57Now today we're each going to have ten balls and the winner is
0:06:57 > 0:07:02the person that gets the most points from that yellow target.
0:07:02 > 0:07:04I love this challenge.
0:07:04 > 0:07:08The yellow target we're aiming for has been split into nine parts
0:07:08 > 0:07:11and you can only score points on each section once.
0:07:13 > 0:07:17But we're not playing alone. I'm teaming up with The Beef!
0:07:17 > 0:07:20And I'm being joined by Charley.
0:07:20 > 0:07:23It's time to do our swing.
0:07:23 > 0:07:25Me first. Watch me, Linds.
0:07:29 > 0:07:31Oh!
0:07:31 > 0:07:33Yes, still watching, Radz.
0:07:33 > 0:07:34OK, so no points for me.
0:07:34 > 0:07:36Come on, Charley. I'm keeping the faith.
0:07:36 > 0:07:39Oh, beautiful! Get in the nine.
0:07:39 > 0:07:42It's not nine, but it's a five. We'll take it.
0:07:42 > 0:07:44OK, my turn. Oh, way too fast.
0:07:44 > 0:07:46Yeah, miles past the target.
0:07:49 > 0:07:53Beef! What a start!
0:07:53 > 0:07:56Me again. No, it's not going to be a nine.
0:07:56 > 0:07:57It's not even going to be in.
0:07:57 > 0:07:59OK, didn't hit the target. I'm just warming up.
0:08:00 > 0:08:03Come on, Charley, I believe in you. You can keep us in this.
0:08:03 > 0:08:05This is why they're professionals.
0:08:05 > 0:08:09That's what I'm talking about. We lead 14-9.
0:08:09 > 0:08:11Oh, it's a beauty.
0:08:11 > 0:08:13- It's something.- Yeah, yeah.
0:08:13 > 0:08:14Six!
0:08:14 > 0:08:16Back in the lead!
0:08:17 > 0:08:19No-one scores for a full round
0:08:19 > 0:08:21until Beef is back.
0:08:24 > 0:08:27- It's an eight, isn't it? - He's got the eight!- Yes!
0:08:27 > 0:08:29That gives us a nine-point lead.
0:08:29 > 0:08:31Can we come back from this?
0:08:34 > 0:08:37Charley picks up another two points.
0:08:38 > 0:08:42That's the one. But Beef gets another one as well.
0:08:43 > 0:08:49So with one more round to go, Lindsey's team leads 24-16.
0:08:49 > 0:08:50We can still win this.
0:08:50 > 0:08:54I would ideally get an eight or a seven, or just on target.
0:08:54 > 0:08:56Think eight. Think eight.
0:08:56 > 0:08:58No, just go in. Stay in. Stay...
0:08:58 > 0:09:00Oh!
0:09:00 > 0:09:03Come on, Charley. Get an eight and we can draw. I believe in you.
0:09:03 > 0:09:05Keep the faith.
0:09:05 > 0:09:08- Oh!- Come on, eight! Come on, eight! Come on, eight!
0:09:08 > 0:09:10Oh, it's a one. Not enough!
0:09:10 > 0:09:12Yes! The title's ours.
0:09:12 > 0:09:16- We did it.- Yes, we did.- I could not have done it without this man.
0:09:16 > 0:09:17You were amazing.
0:09:17 > 0:09:21- Actually, do you guys have a spare pair of trousers with you?- What?- No.
0:09:21 > 0:09:22I thought all golfers brought one...
0:09:22 > 0:09:24in case you got a hole-in-one.
0:09:24 > 0:09:28- Cos you... Better than a birdie... - Come on.- Cos you get...
0:09:30 > 0:09:33See, you can't beat Russell and Beef. We are the dream team.
0:09:33 > 0:09:35Now on to something a little different.
0:09:35 > 0:09:37Fans of Radio 1 are going to love these guys.
0:09:37 > 0:09:40They're very well known for their banter on the Drivetime Show.
0:09:40 > 0:09:42Please welcome Greg James and Chris Smith.
0:09:42 > 0:09:44CHEERING
0:09:44 > 0:09:47- Hello, guys. Thanks for coming on BP.- Thanks for having us.
0:09:47 > 0:09:50- Are these your first badges? - Yes, they are.- Really?
0:09:50 > 0:09:52- Yes, this is the greatest achievement of our lives.- Life made.
0:09:52 > 0:09:55- Of the week...? - Lives.- Life, done.- Yes.
0:09:55 > 0:09:57Guys, we're so happy you are here but we're even happier
0:09:57 > 0:10:00- cos you've done one of these, you've done a book.- Yeah.
0:10:00 > 0:10:02Which is great. Tell us more about Kid Normal, Greg.
0:10:02 > 0:10:04Well, we're very happy to be here, first of all,
0:10:04 > 0:10:06cos we love Blue Peter. This book is called Kid Normal.
0:10:06 > 0:10:09It stars that boy on the front, called Murph,
0:10:09 > 0:10:12and he's 11 and he goes to a new school but he accidentally gets
0:10:12 > 0:10:15enrolled in a school for superheroes and he has no superpowers.
0:10:15 > 0:10:19So he has to work out how to survive in that school, but he has a plan.
0:10:19 > 0:10:21- Just leaving it there. - We don't want to spoil it.
0:10:21 > 0:10:24- He's got a plan, we're not going to say any more.- Tell you the end.
0:10:24 > 0:10:27- Chris?- Yes?- What was Greg like to write with? Be honest, now.
0:10:27 > 0:10:30Absolute nightmare. No. No, not at all. He's been brilliant.
0:10:30 > 0:10:33It's been really fun writing a book together cos we can act out
0:10:33 > 0:10:35the characters to each other and make each other laugh with
0:10:35 > 0:10:39- loads of stupid stuff like making up villains who are half wasp.- Great.
0:10:39 > 0:10:42- And eat a lot of pizza. We've eaten a lot of pizza.- Have you?- Yes.
0:10:42 > 0:10:44You've obviously worked out a lot cos imagine
0:10:44 > 0:10:46if you were coming in here huge after writing a book.
0:10:46 > 0:10:48Yeah, we had about one pizza per 100 words, Lindsey.
0:10:48 > 0:10:50- It's fine.- Loads of treats.
0:10:50 > 0:10:53Now, tell us about Murph, cos he's always wrong place, wrong time.
0:10:53 > 0:10:55Bless him. Is that based on anyone, Greg?
0:10:55 > 0:10:59Well, Murph is a bit of Chris and a bit of me, really.
0:10:59 > 0:11:00But also when you read it
0:11:00 > 0:11:02you'll realise there's a lot of Murph in everybody.
0:11:02 > 0:11:05It's that feeling of when you go to a new school or anywhere
0:11:05 > 0:11:07when you're that sort of age, everyone's massive
0:11:07 > 0:11:10and everyone's brilliant at stuff and you're just sort of bleh.
0:11:10 > 0:11:12- I think everyone can relate to Murph a little bit.- Yeah.
0:11:12 > 0:11:14He has his own little way of working things out.
0:11:14 > 0:11:16That's the best thing about writing a story.
0:11:16 > 0:11:17You can make yourself the hero
0:11:17 > 0:11:20- and make really cool stuff happen to you.- Does Murph like pizza?
0:11:20 > 0:11:22- He loves pizza.- Great.
0:11:22 > 0:11:24OK, listen, we want to put your superhero skills...
0:11:24 > 0:11:26Sorry to just chuck your book but it's game time.
0:11:26 > 0:11:29We're putting them to the test, OK? You've each got cards next to you.
0:11:29 > 0:11:32You're going to have 30 seconds. The rules are simple.
0:11:32 > 0:11:3630 seconds to act out your superhero powers that are on those cards
0:11:36 > 0:11:39and, by the way, it is all to play for cos the winner's going to
0:11:39 > 0:11:42get one of these - the Blue Peter Golden Cape.
0:11:42 > 0:11:44- CHORAL VOICES SING - Oh!
0:11:44 > 0:11:47Come on. Yeah, look. It looks like this. It's beautiful.
0:11:47 > 0:11:50So, really, guys, the pressure is on. All right?
0:11:50 > 0:11:54It's also going to be judged by our superhero judge.
0:11:54 > 0:11:56Who is the superhero judge?
0:11:56 > 0:11:58I thought you'd never ask, Greg. Bring him in!
0:11:58 > 0:12:02- Yes! Hello, my friends.- Wow.
0:12:02 > 0:12:03I am a Wolfman, so named
0:12:03 > 0:12:06because of the place I come from - Wolverhampton.
0:12:06 > 0:12:09It's tenuous but I'm going with it. My voice has suddenly changed.
0:12:09 > 0:12:13I have the power to control tortoises with my mind.
0:12:13 > 0:12:15I have an encyclopaedic knowledge of professional wrestling,
0:12:15 > 0:12:18I can fit an entire stationery cupboard upon my hair.
0:12:18 > 0:12:20- Radz, are you OK? - No, I'm very unwell.
0:12:20 > 0:12:23- Where's the accent from? - I don't know what's happening.
0:12:23 > 0:12:25- Right, we haven't got long. 30 seconds.- Where's Radzi gone?
0:12:25 > 0:12:27Chris, you're up first.
0:12:27 > 0:12:30- Ready? Three, two, one. Off you go.- OK.
0:12:30 > 0:12:32Strongman. Body-builder.
0:12:32 > 0:12:35- Strength. - Yes, super strength.
0:12:35 > 0:12:36Fire. Dragons.
0:12:36 > 0:12:37Yes, yes, yes, yes.
0:12:37 > 0:12:40- OK.- Telepathic. With...?
0:12:40 > 0:12:43- Adding to...- A dog.- You're a wolf.
0:12:43 > 0:12:48And you're changing into a thing which is a tortoise.

0:14:32 > 0:14:35- This is our favourite, though. - Go on. Who is it from?
0:14:35 > 0:14:38This is from Morgan in mid Wales, who's six, and he wanted to
0:14:38 > 0:14:41make a sandcastle that would never get swept away by the tide.
0:14:41 > 0:14:42- Look at that.- Great idea.

0:15:32 > 0:15:36- That's a good one. One of the best we've ever done. Hey, Radz.- Hey.
0:15:36 > 0:15:39- That's quite a transformation. - Yeah, I know. It's fine.
0:15:39 > 0:15:41It's fine. No-one saw anything.
0:15:41 > 0:15:44- I'll leave that there.- You've got something in your hair, mate.- Do I?
0:15:44 > 0:15:46- I couldn't... I can't see anything. - Do the next bit.
0:15:46 > 0:15:50OK, if you thought that was good, which it wasn't, let's be honest,
0:15:50 > 0:15:52this is going to be a lot better.
0:15:52 > 0:15:56There's a place in London that draws crowds from miles around
0:15:56 > 0:15:58and this summer, it's hosting
0:15:58 > 0:16:02the biggest athletics event on the planet.
0:16:02 > 0:16:04- BOTH:- This is London Stadium.
0:16:05 > 0:16:06Barney, I'm trying to make a film here.
0:16:06 > 0:16:08Yeah, so am I, thank you very much.
0:16:08 > 0:16:10Just take a look at this place.
0:16:10 > 0:16:12That is a feat of precision engineering.
0:16:12 > 0:16:16It hosts Premier League matches, it hosts rugby matches, pop concerts,
0:16:16 > 0:16:18athletics and it's got a really cool slide.
0:16:18 > 0:16:22A slide? It doesn't matter, we're not talking about that right now.
0:16:22 > 0:16:23We're talking about scale.
0:16:23 > 0:16:26- BOTH:- This place was built for the Olympics.
0:16:26 > 0:16:27Excuse me, Radz.
0:16:28 > 0:16:30There we go.
0:16:30 > 0:16:32Hey, where are you going?
0:16:32 > 0:16:35Although it was built for the London 2012 Olympic Games,
0:16:35 > 0:16:38the stadium was always intended to be used again
0:16:38 > 0:16:40and again for different events
0:16:40 > 0:16:44so after the Olympics, the stadium had its top floor removed,
0:16:44 > 0:16:45the roof replaced
0:16:45 > 0:16:48and the ground floor completely re-engineered.
0:16:48 > 0:16:52They also build a roof that's twice the size of the original one.
0:16:52 > 0:16:54That makes it the biggest of its kind in the world.
0:16:54 > 0:17:00They used 6km of cable, that weighed a total of 930 tonnes.
0:17:00 > 0:17:03That's as heavy... That's the same weight, right, as...
0:17:03 > 0:17:06You know what? Nothing is that heavy.
0:17:06 > 0:17:08Look at it.
0:17:08 > 0:17:11It's now possible to host football matches, concerts,
0:17:11 > 0:17:15motor sport events and this summer it's home to
0:17:15 > 0:17:18the London 2017 World Athletics Championships
0:17:18 > 0:17:21and the Anniversary Games.
0:17:21 > 0:17:22And that's why we're here.
0:17:22 > 0:17:24The Anniversary Games is just around the corner, so that
0:17:24 > 0:17:27stadium is being turned from its last set-up
0:17:27 > 0:17:28into an athletics stadium.
0:17:28 > 0:17:31It is a huge deal and I can't wait to get inside.
0:17:32 > 0:17:35Every year since the London 2012 Olympics,
0:17:35 > 0:17:39the Anniversary Games has hosted the world's best athletes right
0:17:39 > 0:17:43here in the stadium and we've come to help them get ready.
0:17:44 > 0:17:47We're just two days away from the big event and as you will see
0:17:47 > 0:17:49and hear today, work is well under way.
0:17:49 > 0:17:52And the guy in charge of all that is called Chris
0:17:52 > 0:17:53and that's who I'm going to meet now.
0:17:55 > 0:17:58- Chris, nice to meet you.- Hi, Barney, welcome to London Stadium.
0:17:58 > 0:18:00- Thank you very much. You're the project manager.- I am one of the
0:18:00 > 0:18:03- project managers, yeah.- You've been getting ready for a big event
0:18:03 > 0:18:04- for quite a while.- We have.
0:18:04 > 0:18:05We've had a busy summer,
0:18:05 > 0:18:07so we've been moving seats, so we have to skate them.
0:18:07 > 0:18:10We use what we call air skates, which is really high-pressure air
0:18:10 > 0:18:12which actually goes down on to the surface
0:18:12 > 0:18:15and just lifts the seats just ever so much off the ground.
0:18:15 > 0:18:17Like a massive puck on an air hockey table?
0:18:17 > 0:18:19- That's exactly what it's like. - That's genius.
0:18:19 > 0:18:21And what we've had is the track protection down,
0:18:21 > 0:18:24so that's protected the track and the playing surface whilst
0:18:24 > 0:18:25we've had the concerts.
0:18:25 > 0:18:27OK, so as you know, I'm here today to help.
0:18:27 > 0:18:29So you need to see Greg, our groundsman.
0:18:29 > 0:18:32He's just over there, so go and introduce yourself.
0:18:32 > 0:18:34With the seats in place and the track revealed,
0:18:34 > 0:18:38the team are now working on the finishing touches to the stadium.
0:18:38 > 0:18:42Every line and blade of grass has to be just right for the athletes,
0:18:42 > 0:18:45so it's time for Barney to get gardening.
0:18:45 > 0:18:48- If you want to grab the bucket.- OK.
0:18:48 > 0:18:51So, all it is, is just a light scattering of grass seed
0:18:51 > 0:18:54- where you can see the bare patches.- As easy as that.- Yeah.
0:18:54 > 0:18:56- Here we go.- As easy as that.
0:18:56 > 0:18:59- That's perfect.- How long for this to grow?
0:18:59 > 0:19:01I should say we should see that growing in about five days.
0:19:01 > 0:19:05- Is that all?- That's all it is, yeah. - Nice sprinkling, Barn.
0:19:05 > 0:19:07But you'll have to keep going to fill it all in,
0:19:07 > 0:19:13because this lawn needs nearly 400 kilos of grass seed, so...
0:19:13 > 0:19:15- good luck.- Barney, how did you get on?
0:19:15 > 0:19:17Really good, bucket's empty, so we're all done.
0:19:17 > 0:19:19- Are we going to build some sandcastles?- No.
0:19:19 > 0:19:21- I'll get the bucket.- Not quite.
0:19:21 > 0:19:24What we do, we're getting the long-jump pits ready for topping up
0:19:24 > 0:19:28- with some more sand.- Yeah.- In preparation for Sunday's event.- OK.
0:19:28 > 0:19:30- So over to you.- OK.
0:19:30 > 0:19:34So if it all fails elsewhere and you need some
0:19:34 > 0:19:38grass for your garden or your sandpits raking, give me a call.
0:19:38 > 0:19:41OK, Barn, that's enough of you. I'm taking over this one.
0:19:41 > 0:19:46So it's Sunday morning and the crowds are arriving and I've
0:19:46 > 0:19:49come here to find out what all this conversion business is all about.
0:19:49 > 0:19:53The atmosphere is buzzing, by the way and this is a happy dance.
0:19:53 > 0:19:54Hey!
0:19:57 > 0:20:00I could watch this all day. This is the warm-up track.
0:20:00 > 0:20:02Some of THE best athletes in the world are all here getting
0:20:02 > 0:20:07themselves mentally and physically ready, and then the best bit is,
0:20:07 > 0:20:10we're going to see them in there very soon.
0:20:11 > 0:20:14After weeks of preparation, the stadium is finally ready
0:20:14 > 0:20:16and the crowd are all seated.
0:20:16 > 0:20:19It's time for the athletics to begin.
0:20:23 > 0:20:24There's so much going on.
0:20:24 > 0:20:26In athletics, it's not just one thing that happens,
0:20:26 > 0:20:29there's track events, there's pole vault, there's long jump all
0:20:29 > 0:20:32happening now, and they've just crossed the finish line!
0:20:32 > 0:20:34I love athletics!
0:20:41 > 0:20:43The long jump's under way.
0:20:43 > 0:20:46That's the very same pit that Barney raked yesterday.
0:20:46 > 0:20:49Let's hope his raking is good enough for an international athlete.
0:20:50 > 0:20:53And of all the international athletes, there's
0:20:53 > 0:20:58one who could call this stadium practically his second home -
0:20:58 > 0:21:03- Sir Mo Farah.- Mo Farah cheered on by this huge crowd.
0:21:04 > 0:21:07- One question for you, Mo.- Yeah. - You got an incredible reaction.
0:21:07 > 0:21:10- What does this stadium mean to you?- This stadium means
0:21:10 > 0:21:12everything to me, this is where I made my breakthrough,
0:21:12 > 0:21:14this is where I became Olympic champion,
0:21:14 > 0:21:17this is where my life has changed and I love the people,
0:21:17 > 0:21:20I love the stadium, and I just get emotional, you know?
0:21:20 > 0:21:22I was getting ready before the race
0:21:22 > 0:21:25and I was, like, getting really nervous.
0:21:25 > 0:21:27You're a superstar, Mo. Thank you very much indeed.
0:21:27 > 0:21:29What a day it's been and do you know what?
0:21:29 > 0:21:31More so than the athletics,
0:21:31 > 0:21:33actually it's seeing how this stadium has transformed,
0:21:33 > 0:21:37whether it be the track, the field, the seats, everything,
0:21:37 > 0:21:41it's been so good to get behind-the-scenes with Barney
0:21:41 > 0:21:42and see it all come together.
0:21:42 > 0:21:46And speaking of Barney, I wonder where he got to?
0:21:46 > 0:21:49He'd better not be messing around in the giant slide, you know?
0:21:49 > 0:21:50Oh, wow.
0:21:50 > 0:21:53Whoa! That was good.
0:21:53 > 0:21:55Vintage Harwood.
0:21:55 > 0:21:58- Oh!- He's a very happy man.
0:21:58 > 0:22:00- Happy dance all over the shop. - I love athletics!
0:22:00 > 0:22:03Please can we do our winners in the Design A Dragon comp, please?
0:22:03 > 0:22:04Let's do it. So early in the show,
0:22:04 > 0:22:08we showed you our top 30 entries for our Design A Dragon competition.
0:22:08 > 0:22:11Now, as you can see, the standard was so very high.
0:22:11 > 0:22:14The judges actually really struggled whittling it down
0:22:14 > 0:22:18to 30 from over 9,000 of you that entered.
0:22:18 > 0:22:21- That is ridiculous, isn't it? - But whittle it down they did,
0:22:21 > 0:22:24so in the three categories, they chose their favourite two entries,
0:22:24 > 0:22:26leaving us with a top six.
0:22:26 > 0:22:29- Shall we have a look?- Let's have a look.- Let's walk this way.
0:22:29 > 0:22:34So the top two in age six to eight category, first we've got Amar.
0:22:34 > 0:22:36Now, his dragon is incredible.
0:22:36 > 0:22:40It's called Synth and it makes energy from nature.
0:22:40 > 0:22:43It's ridiculous. He's labelled it, he's gone into so much detail.
0:22:43 > 0:22:46They were so impressed. And the other dragon is by Freya.
0:22:46 > 0:22:50Now, this dragon is called Goldie, who make weeds go away
0:22:50 > 0:22:54and makes flowers bloom instead, so it's a very green dragon.
0:22:54 > 0:22:55We like that a lot. Well done.
0:22:55 > 0:22:58And on to the 9-to-11-year-old category.
0:22:58 > 0:23:00Kick things off with Hannah's design.
0:23:00 > 0:23:04Her dragon is called Dazzler and it glows up and actually glows
0:23:04 > 0:23:09the Chinese lanterns to help guide Dazzler along the way.
0:23:09 > 0:23:12Now over to Florence's incredibly colourful design.
0:23:12 > 0:23:16Her dragon is called Fargesia and it protects endangered plants.
0:23:16 > 0:23:19Look at the detail in that, it's incredible, this.
0:23:19 > 0:23:21These are amazing. I don't know how they chose.
0:23:21 > 0:23:24Let's have a look at the ages 12 to 15 category.
0:23:24 > 0:23:26The top two, we'll start with Annie's dragon.
0:23:26 > 0:23:28Now, this dragon is called Tempers.
0:23:28 > 0:23:31It is beautiful and you can see on the wing there,
0:23:31 > 0:23:34it reflects the past, the present and the future
0:23:34 > 0:23:36and she's even included a mini pagoda.
0:23:36 > 0:23:39How creative is that? And then we'll move on to Tia's dragon.
0:23:39 > 0:23:40Now this one is wonderful.
0:23:40 > 0:23:44It's called Scraps and he can actually rebuild himself into
0:23:44 > 0:23:47other things using little scraps of metals like forks and screws.
0:23:47 > 0:23:50- They're amazing. I don't know how we have a winner, but we do.- We do
0:23:50 > 0:23:53and we can only choose one winner.
0:23:53 > 0:23:56Our judge Cressida Cowell described our winning
0:23:56 > 0:23:58design as being creative, imaginative
0:23:58 > 0:24:01and original and perfectly appropriate for Kew.
0:24:01 > 0:24:04- So, here we go. Can I finally do it?- Let's do it.
0:24:04 > 0:24:08The winner of Blue Peter's Design A Dragon competition that will
0:24:08 > 0:24:13sit pride of place at the pagoda at Kew Gardens is...
0:24:13 > 0:24:15- It's Florence!- Yeah!
0:24:15 > 0:24:17Come on over, Florence.
0:24:17 > 0:24:21Oh, well done, you, and look at that big smile.
0:24:21 > 0:24:24How does it feel to have an orange badge on and actually be the winner
0:24:24 > 0:24:27- of this competition?- I mean, it feels amazing, it's so cool
0:24:27 > 0:24:29to think that it's going to be on top of the pagoda.
0:24:29 > 0:24:32It is. You've done that. It's going to be designed by real artists.
0:24:32 > 0:24:35It will be. Can you talk us through your design? Because it genuinely...
0:24:35 > 0:24:37I have no idea how you came up with this.
0:24:37 > 0:24:40Well, I found this bamboo on the internet, which is called
0:24:40 > 0:24:44a Blue Dragon bamboo and I thought it'd be really perfect.
0:24:44 > 0:24:47And then I, like, cut out lots of different leaves
0:24:47 > 0:24:48and collaged them together.
0:24:48 > 0:24:51You can tell you spent so much time on this and you've done
0:24:51 > 0:24:53so much research into your dragon, which the judges loved.
0:24:53 > 0:24:56What's that moment going to be like when you go to Kew Gardens and
