7:05:21 > 7:05:24I'm going to go off-road now.
7:05:24 > 7:05:26They're never going to find me.
7:05:26 > 7:05:29In a real situation, the Mountain Rescue team would be told
7:05:29 > 7:05:31roughly where a missing person is
7:05:31 > 7:05:34but they rely on the dogs to help pinpoint them.
7:05:34 > 7:05:37We know within one square mile where Radzi is
7:05:37 > 7:05:41but it's down to Dolly to actually find him using her nose.

7:05:45 > 7:05:47She's never going to get me there.
7:05:47 > 7:05:50How does Dolly know what Radzi's smell is?
7:05:50 > 7:05:53Why doesn't she just smell us and not run away?
7:05:53 > 7:05:55She can smell us, obviously,
7:05:55 > 7:05:58but she's been trained to find other people that aren't with me.

7:06:01 > 7:06:04I'm going to throw a spanner in the works.

7:06:11 > 7:06:13We'll see about that.

7:06:15 > 7:06:17other than her handler.
7:06:17 > 7:06:19There is no way Dolly's going to find me.
7:06:20 > 7:06:22Here we go.
7:06:24 > 7:06:25I think that's her.
7:06:25 > 7:06:28- So what's going to happen now? - I'm going to let Dolly off the lead.
7:06:28 > 7:06:30I'm going to give her the command to go and search
7:06:30 > 7:06:33and, hopefully, Dolly'll pick Radzi up really quickly on the wind.

7:07:37 > 7:07:40In a real search and rescue situation,
7:07:40 > 7:07:43Dolly and Nick would make sure that the person being rescued is OK

7:13:55 > 7:13:56- And there's a tear.- A tear.
7:13:56 > 7:13:59- So if we go colour blue, pear, tear. - Blue Pier.

7:14:02 > 7:14:04- Next Step.- Yes!

7:14:17 > 7:14:20- Every time somebody says Blue Peter. Ahoy, there.- Ahoy, there.

7:14:32 > 7:14:35Thank you very much. The tall Storyteller game.
7:14:35 > 7:14:38If we click on that there, then it opens something quite cool.
7:14:38 > 7:14:39Because you can actually make your own story
7:14:39 > 7:14:42and you can choose the presenters, the background
7:14:42 > 7:14:44you can choose what you want the Blue Peter presenters...
7:14:44 > 7:14:46Ahoy there!
7:14:46 > 7:14:49- I missed it!- And if we press play, as you can see there.
7:14:49 > 7:14:51"Dun, dun, dun!
7:14:51 > 7:14:53"What the what's? I'm the size of a newborn baby!"
7:14:53 > 7:14:55And then he says, "Mwah, mwah, mwah!"
7:14:55 > 7:14:57And that's just a short one.
7:14:57 > 7:14:59We want more stories where they came from.
7:14:59 > 7:15:01If you're inspired by the phenomenal drama you've seen there,
7:15:01 > 7:15:03perhaps you've been inspired by a make,
7:15:03 > 7:15:05or even anything that you've seen on Blue Peter...
7:15:05 > 7:15:08- ALL: Ahoy there!- Way, hey! - I missed it again!
7:15:08 > 7:15:11Why don't you make it? In fact, do it on the website.
7:15:11 > 7:15:12Oh, I like this game.
7:15:12 > 7:15:14Camera two, please. So, Ema got in touch.
7:15:14 > 7:15:17Sticking with the theme of the purple badge.
7:15:17 > 7:15:18And you've given us your ideas.
7:15:18 > 7:15:21Ema from Edinburgh wants to see really big challenges on Blue Peter.
7:15:21 > 7:15:22ALL: Ahoy there!
7:15:22 > 7:15:25Well done. I don't think it gets much bigger than this. Check it out.
7:15:33 > 7:15:37So, as you can see, I'm at sea to see one of
7:15:37 > 7:15:40the biggest ships you have ever seen.
7:15:40 > 7:15:41But unlike other films I've done before
7:15:41 > 7:15:43I'm not going to be driving this ship,
7:15:43 > 7:15:49instead my supersized challenge is to learn how to park that...
7:15:51 > 7:15:53Really? Say hello to the Carmen.
7:15:53 > 7:15:57She's almost as long as two football pitches, but end to end,
7:15:57 > 7:16:01and she weighs the equivalent of over 6,000 double decker buses.
7:16:02 > 7:16:06Ships like the Carmen can literally sail anywhere in the world,
7:16:06 > 7:16:09transporting everything from your toothbrush to your family car,
7:16:09 > 7:16:12and when they get near port it's the job of local sailors,
7:16:12 > 7:16:16known as pilots, to take control and bring them in safely.
7:16:16 > 7:16:18Because some of these ships are so huge
7:16:18 > 7:16:22they only just fit into our ports, so they need real specialist care.
7:16:22 > 7:16:25And they're letting me have a go. They won't.
7:16:25 > 7:16:27I won't get to have a go.
7:16:27 > 7:16:31When they see what I do, they'll be like, "Get off my ship!"
7:16:31 > 7:16:33I'm going to be helping pilot Sean as he guides
7:16:33 > 7:16:35the Carmen into Southampton harbour.
7:16:35 > 7:16:37But before I could set foot onboard,
7:16:37 > 7:16:40I had to go through some very special training.
7:16:41 > 7:16:43So, this is it. The moment has arrived.
7:16:43 > 7:16:47I am about to drive the biggest boat you have ever seen.
7:16:47 > 7:16:51OK, Barney, stay focused. Stay calm. You can do this.
7:16:51 > 7:16:53Oh!
7:16:53 > 7:16:56Well, it's not quite what I had in mind.
7:16:56 > 7:16:58This is Warsash Maritime Academy,
7:16:58 > 7:17:00and these may look like toy boats,
7:17:00 > 7:17:03but they are actually scale models of real ships.
7:17:03 > 7:17:05Pilots must undergo their training here
7:17:05 > 7:17:07before they can control the real thing.
7:17:11 > 7:17:13A pilot doesn't actually steer a ship,
7:17:13 > 7:17:15they tell the crew how to manoeuvre it.
7:17:15 > 7:17:18Sean takes me through all the commands a pilot uses
7:17:18 > 7:17:21and then sets me a test to navigate a course around the lake
7:17:21 > 7:17:23marked out by buoys
7:17:23 > 7:17:26and I've got to bring the boat into harbour.
7:17:26 > 7:17:28Welcome aboard HMS Harwood.
7:17:28 > 7:17:29Now, that may sound easy,
7:17:29 > 7:17:33but remembering all the different commands is actually really tricky.
7:17:33 > 7:17:36Starboard engine full...
7:17:36 > 7:17:38Eh... Backwards.
7:17:38 > 7:17:40- Follow stern.- OK, Barney.
7:17:42 > 7:17:44- Full ahead.- Full ahead.
7:17:44 > 7:17:46Full and starboard 20.
7:17:46 > 7:17:51It's a lot to take in and then things go from bad to worse.
7:17:51 > 7:17:56OK, full stern. Stop full stern. No!
7:17:56 > 7:17:58We're not where we want to be, Barney.
7:17:58 > 7:18:00- We're stuck in the bushes here, I think.- Yeah.
7:18:00 > 7:18:04- I think we need somebody to pull us out.- Sorry!
7:18:04 > 7:18:06It's a good job it's not the real thing.
7:18:07 > 7:18:09Oh, dear!
7:18:10 > 7:18:12I have realised where I'm going wrong.
7:18:12 > 7:18:15Boats take a long time to change course,
7:18:15 > 7:18:16so I need to give the command to turn
7:18:16 > 7:18:20way before we actually need to. Starboard ten.
7:18:20 > 7:18:22You're in control.
7:18:22 > 7:18:24We attempt the course again,
7:18:24 > 7:18:26and this time I'm determined to crack it.
7:18:29 > 7:18:31OK, stop engines.
7:18:31 > 7:18:32Done it!
7:18:32 > 7:18:35- Yes!- Not too bad at all. Can't complain about that.
7:18:35 > 7:18:40Yes! Now it's time to put what I've learnt into practice on the Carmen.
7:18:40 > 7:18:42It's quite nerve-racking this bit
7:18:42 > 7:18:44because obviously we're not in a port
7:18:44 > 7:18:46so we can't just get onto the ship, we're at sea
7:18:46 > 7:18:51and the only way to get onto this ship is up that flimsy rope ladder.
7:18:51 > 7:18:53- Shall we go?- Yeah, let's do it.
7:18:53 > 7:18:55You ready?
7:18:55 > 7:18:58All right. Here we go.
7:18:58 > 7:19:01Oh, yes. It's like a proper pirate.
7:19:04 > 7:19:06My career has reached new heights.
7:19:07 > 7:19:10Once onboard we head straight to the bridge,
7:19:10 > 7:19:13where Sean takes control and starts guiding the Carmen into port.
7:19:15 > 7:19:18The exact same commands that I learned on the lake apply here,
7:19:18 > 7:19:22so it's time for me to put my training into practice.
7:19:22 > 7:19:25I'm about to give a command that moves this ship to the port
7:19:25 > 7:19:28side by five degrees.
7:19:28 > 7:19:30- When I give the command... - OK, Barney,
7:19:30 > 7:19:32I think this is a good time to go, I reckon.
7:19:32 > 7:19:35All right. OK. Helmsman, port five, please.
7:19:35 > 7:19:36Port five.
7:19:36 > 7:19:38Oh, yes. I'd make a great pilot, wouldn't I?
7:19:38 > 7:19:41Maybe I'll hand over to Sean and the crew and leave them
7:19:41 > 7:19:43to manoeuvre the Carmen into port.
7:19:43 > 7:19:45It's amazing how precise they have to be.
7:19:45 > 7:19:48At one point there's the length of just one and a half cars between
7:19:48 > 7:19:51the bottom of the ship and the seabed.
7:19:51 > 7:19:53But under Sean's watchful eye,
7:19:53 > 7:19:56and with the assistance of his trusty helper -
7:19:56 > 7:20:00that's me, by the way - we guide the ship in.
7:20:00 > 7:20:02Now, what we're trying to work out here is
7:20:02 > 7:20:03how close we are to the berth.
7:20:03 > 7:20:06It's very difficult to tell how close you are looking out
7:20:06 > 7:20:08of these windows cos you're kind of over it.
7:20:08 > 7:20:11They've thought about that though and they've put windows in the floor.
7:20:11 > 7:20:13Have a look. So you can see through there.
7:20:13 > 7:20:17You can see exactly how close the side of the ship is to the berth.
7:20:19 > 7:20:21Thanks very much. Very nice job.
7:20:23 > 7:20:26Now, it's at this point I would normally say, "I want one,"
7:20:26 > 7:20:29but where would I put it?
7:20:29 > 7:20:31Who am I kidding? I still want one.
7:20:32 > 7:20:34Yeah, I'd just get a bigger garage. It's easy.
7:20:34 > 7:20:38To celebrate the purple badge today we have covered the Blue Peter...
7:20:38 > 7:20:40Everyone missed it. Everybody missed it.
7:20:40 > 7:20:42Oh, yeah! Ahoy there! Oh!
7:20:42 > 7:20:44..Big Badge Wall with your purple badge selfies. There they are.
7:20:44 > 7:20:47- Beautiful.- Now, everyone you can see here has earned themselves
7:20:47 > 7:20:51a purple badge by telling us what you think about Blue Peter...
7:20:51 > 7:20:52ALL: Ahoy there!
7:20:52 > 7:20:54Oh, it's very distracting!
7:20:54 > 7:20:57That's all you have to do - is tell us what you think about the show
7:20:57 > 7:21:00and what you think about the BP website.
7:21:00 > 7:21:04All you need to do is head on to that website and print out one of these.
7:21:04 > 7:21:06It is a purple badge form.
7:21:06 > 7:21:09Download it. Fill out all your answers. Answer all the questions.
7:21:09 > 7:21:11You can be very honest, if you like.
7:21:11 > 7:21:13And then send it back to that address that is right there.
7:21:13 > 7:21:16Radzi, what are you doing?
7:21:16 > 7:21:18Eva from Reading wanted me to be on roller-skates.
7:21:18 > 7:21:21So this one's for you. Anything here on Blue Peter.
7:21:21 > 7:21:23ALL: Ahoy there!
7:21:23 > 7:21:24Well done, Eva. Great idea.
7:21:24 > 7:21:27That was fun. Erica who's 13, here she is.
7:21:27 > 7:21:30I love that she's put on a purple cardigan for the purple badge.
7:21:30 > 7:21:33That's brilliant. It might be your school uniform, but it looks great.
7:21:33 > 7:21:36She wants to see more competitions on Blue Peter.
7:21:36 > 7:21:37ALL: Ahoy there.
7:21:37 > 7:21:39Erica, stay tuned.
7:21:39 > 7:21:42Tivanah. Look at you, you cutie. She's got her purple badge on.
7:21:42 > 7:21:43She says she loves the website
7:21:43 > 7:21:45cos you can play loads of games on there.
7:21:45 > 7:21:47She says that her least favourite part of the show
7:21:47 > 7:21:50is when it finishes. You smooth talker.
7:21:50 > 7:21:52- We love it.- That's lovely.
7:21:52 > 7:21:54Look at the smiley little man here. It's Jake, who is seven.
7:21:54 > 7:21:57And he's written to us saying that he would like to see
7:21:57 > 7:21:59more vlogging on the show.
7:21:59 > 7:22:02Well, Jake, you're not the only one because Bonnie from Southend
7:22:02 > 7:22:06and Alison from Oxford both said they want to see more vlogging as well.
7:22:06 > 7:22:10So, please welcome our two vlogging stars LDShadowLady
7:22:10 > 7:22:11and Sprinkleofglitter.
7:22:15 > 7:22:18Ladies, welcome to Blue Peter. Louise, I'll start with yourself.
7:22:18 > 7:22:21- These are proper knee pads, by the way.- Good.
7:22:21 > 7:22:25You focus your vlogs on fashion and make-up. How did you start?
7:22:25 > 7:22:27Well, originally I had a written blog
7:22:27 > 7:22:30and I would write articles about things that interest me.
7:22:30 > 7:22:32And then my readers started to say,
7:22:32 > 7:22:35"Could you make videos about the things you're writing about?"
7:22:35 > 7:22:39And so I did and then pretty soon the videos became bigger than the blog.
7:22:39 > 7:22:40That is fantastic.
7:22:40 > 7:22:43It just goes to show that actually one skill can lead to another thing.
7:22:43 > 7:22:46And you've got over 200 million viewers.
7:22:46 > 7:22:48That's treble the population of Britain.
7:22:48 > 7:22:50- I had not thought of it like that. - It's incredible.
7:22:50 > 7:22:53You've done hundreds of videos. Do you have a favourite?
7:22:53 > 7:22:56I don't have one favourite, but anything that has
7:22:56 > 7:22:58my little girl Darcy, or Baby Glitter in,
7:22:58 > 7:23:00or my cats Rocket and Zula is a favourite for me.
7:23:00 > 7:23:03So, in case Darcy is watching at home. Give Darcy a big wave.
7:23:03 > 7:23:05- Hello, Darcy. - You've gone for the cute angle.
7:23:05 > 7:23:07Lizzie, you're a game vlogger.
7:23:07 > 7:23:09So you play games and you talk about them.
7:23:09 > 7:23:12Can you tell us what it is about vlogs you love?
7:23:12 > 7:23:14Why do you like doing them?
7:23:14 > 7:23:15Gaming is a real passion of mine,
7:23:15 > 7:23:18so I just love to be able to make a story out of it
7:23:18 > 7:23:20and share that with everyone and have a good time.
7:23:20 > 7:23:24It's a very popular thing as well. Over 430 million views.
7:23:24 > 7:23:27- Yeah.- Which is insane. We know that you love vlogs as well,
7:23:27 > 7:23:29that's why we're doing this on today's show,
7:23:29 > 7:23:31so we thought we'd set a challenge for Radzi to do a vlog.
7:23:31 > 7:23:34I love this. One of Radzi's favourite things is wrestling.
7:23:34 > 7:23:37He talks about it all the time. Sometimes wrestles me to the ground.
7:23:37 > 7:23:39So we thought he could do a vlog
7:23:39 > 7:23:42and you can have a look and see what you think. Here it is.
7:23:42 > 7:23:46I love wrestling. Especially...
7:23:46 > 7:23:48GLASS SMASHES
7:23:48 > 7:23:50My name is Stone Cold Steve Austin
7:23:50 > 7:23:55and I always got my finger on the pulse, so I got me a blue badge.
7:23:55 > 7:23:59What? A green badge. What?
7:23:59 > 7:24:01An orange badge. What?
7:24:01 > 7:24:05A purple and sports badge. What?
7:24:05 > 7:24:08And even a silver badge.
7:24:08 > 7:24:12And that's the bottom line cos Stone Cold said so.
7:24:12 > 7:24:14He doesn't have a gold one though.
7:24:14 > 7:24:17Amazing. He was giggling at his own vlog. You missed that.
7:24:17 > 7:24:18That was amazing.
7:24:18 > 7:24:21I got a bit carried away. What did you think?
7:24:21 > 7:24:22- I loved it.- I liked it.
7:24:22 > 7:24:25I think some of our top tips would be,
7:24:25 > 7:24:27it's great that you did it on your phone.
7:24:27 > 7:24:30A lot of people rush out and buy expensive equipment,
7:24:30 > 7:24:32but it's a hobby and you might not stick at it for long,
7:24:32 > 7:24:35so it's great just to use what you have lying around.
7:24:35 > 7:24:38Yeah. And I really loved that you had a theme, the wrestling theme.
7:24:38 > 7:24:41And you wrote a script for it, but don't be afraid to make up jokes
7:24:41 > 7:24:42- as you go along.- I like that.
7:24:42 > 7:24:45And if you decide to do more, try doing it in natural light,
7:24:45 > 7:24:49- cos that looks a little bit better than your light switch.- Yes.
7:24:49 > 7:24:51Those are fantastic tips.
7:24:51 > 7:24:55Thank you very much. We're going to set you a challenge.
7:24:55 > 7:24:58You are the queens of vlogging. The queens of gaming.
7:24:58 > 7:24:59Vlogging is no problem,
7:24:59 > 7:25:02but we're going to ask you to do one in 45 seconds.
7:25:02 > 7:25:05But we're going to ask you to include five words
7:25:05 > 7:25:07which you do not know what they will be.
7:25:07 > 7:25:09- Are you up for the challenge? - We are.- Yes.
7:25:09 > 7:25:11Ladies, if you'd like to take your seats.
7:25:11 > 7:25:14If you look at the screen in front of you
7:25:14 > 7:25:16you're going to see some words popping up.
7:25:16 > 7:25:19Once those words pop up, add them to your vlog. You've got 45 seconds.
