:01:22. > :01:27.jumpers. And I will show you how to make one of these Christmas

:01:27. > :01:32.crackers. We go behind the scenes of one of this Christmas' most

:01:32. > :01:38.exciting television dramas. Give us some inside tips about what David

:01:38. > :01:42.Walliams said to you to try and get into this character? He said, you

:01:42. > :01:46.really stink! And we're going to be taking you to one of the most

:01:46. > :01:50.Christmassy places in Europe. at the toys, it's like some to's

:01:50. > :02:00.grotto. I'm going to take you somewhere pretty special, but it's

:02:00. > :02:03.

:02:03. > :02:08.very cold. Cool! Look at its little face. Have you written your

:02:08. > :02:14.Christmas list? It's just a small less. I'd like some shoes, some new

:02:14. > :02:17.boots, socks, sweets, a pony. can't ask all of that! If you are

:02:17. > :02:20.looking for a bit of inspiration this Christmas, we have been

:02:20. > :02:25.testing out some of the tour is predicted to be massive this year.

:02:25. > :02:30.We were thinking about who we could get involved. We thought about

:02:30. > :02:35.Hacker. But he would just think about bones and things to G one.

:02:35. > :02:42.You cheeky Rascle! We did talk about being from the CBBC office,

:02:42. > :02:50.but he would didn't get any work done. Helen Skelton! The end we

:02:51. > :02:53.thought Bobby and Will, they played Jake and Danny. I'm not sure about

:02:54. > :02:57.their moustache us, but they do have the ultimate guide to gadgets

:02:57. > :03:06.and how you can spend your pocket money at Christmas.

:03:06. > :03:11.Today we are on the really important mission. Isn't that

:03:11. > :03:17.right? Yes. We are having a look at some of the season's most

:03:17. > :03:20.anticipated toys. So sit back and pay attention. It like us to love

:03:21. > :03:26.toys, you will not want to miss this. Professor Will, are you

:03:26. > :03:29.ready? The yes, Dr Bobbie. ready? The yes, Dr Bobbie.

:03:29. > :03:37.combat King of toys. It was huge in the 90s. But they were very simple

:03:37. > :03:42.back then so what's all the fuss about now? It develops a

:03:42. > :03:49.personality, based on how you treat it. Tickle it and you make Hearts

:03:49. > :03:58.appear. How do you feed it? You can download the app and then control

:03:58. > :04:01.it from there. Like this. The last time around the American Security

:04:01. > :04:08.Agency banned the Furby because they thought it might repeat top-

:04:09. > :04:16.secret information. Really? Watch what you are saying. They will have

:04:16. > :04:20.as! My lips are sealed. For Kyrgyz sake?! Next up is the PlayStation

:04:20. > :04:24.wonder Book. This is high-tech stuff. As the player touches the

:04:24. > :04:29.book with the want, they can view their moves on screen through the

:04:29. > :04:34.PlayStation camera. As you progress through the book you will get extra

:04:34. > :04:44.enemies. This is an advanced text book for anyone who wants to become

:04:44. > :04:46.

:04:46. > :04:53.an accomplished with it. - Market Now that I've learned my spells, do

:04:53. > :04:56.you think I could get a date with Hermione? A not a chance!

:04:57. > :05:01.original twister was invented way back in 1966. But this is a

:05:01. > :05:04.complete reinvention. Place the coloured dots on the floor and

:05:04. > :05:12.lights flash on the console to let you know where to put your feet.

:05:12. > :05:22.You can connect your own music device and dance the night away.

:05:22. > :05:23.

:05:23. > :05:27.Yeah, moving on. OK. This augmented reality jigsaw puzzle. It's a super

:05:27. > :05:32.long name and a 1000 piece jigsaw with a difference. Have your

:05:32. > :05:40.smartphones ready. You get a sense of accomplishment when you finish a

:05:40. > :05:43.puzzle. Be mean when I finish it. Teamwork. It's called teamwork. If

:05:43. > :05:53.you hold your smartphone over the puzzle, you can watch it come to

:05:53. > :06:01.life. You know, the military are using augmented reality to train

:06:01. > :06:04.soldiers. To make them better at jigsaw puzzles? That's very odd.

:06:05. > :06:09.These are collectible characters based on the original online only

:06:09. > :06:14.pets. I love pets, but I wonder if I could play games of my pet,

:06:14. > :06:19.decorate its helm and set a secret missions with it. This is a virtual

:06:19. > :06:24.world where you get to create your own pet. The more games you play,

:06:24. > :06:28.the more mulched you get. Virtual money. You can use this to buy

:06:28. > :06:33.items, furniture and anything else for your house. It's a full-time

:06:33. > :06:39.commitment. That sounds like hard work, Dr. Will we have to take them

:06:39. > :06:45.for a walk? You don't quite have the hang of this, do you?

:06:45. > :06:49.Seriously, will we have to walk them? I'm not a big Walker. Dr

:06:49. > :06:54.Bobbie, do you know what to you are getting me for Christmas? Are of

:06:54. > :07:02.course I do. Why, have you done your Christmas shopping already?

:07:02. > :07:08.course I have. I need to go into town. Can I come? No. Merry

:07:08. > :07:11.Christmas, everyone! Brilliant. If you are going to be

:07:11. > :07:17.buying things for Christmas, there was definitely one thing missing

:07:17. > :07:21.off that list. Yes, all that could - a cool kids are wearing them.

:07:21. > :07:24.Christmas jumper! We are going to show you how you can make your very

:07:25. > :07:29.own Christmas jumper. The first thing you will need is an old

:07:29. > :07:33.jumper. You might have won lying around the house, your mum or dad

:07:33. > :07:38.might not wear a jumper any more. Look what happens every time I do

:07:38. > :07:42.that. The bells ring. The good go to a charity shop and get a cheap

:07:42. > :07:45.one. I think we should use this one because we are going to make a

:07:45. > :07:50.Christmas pudding and that will show up nicely. I've already

:07:50. > :07:55.created my Template. I've created a circle and then drawn a Witherley

:07:55. > :08:00.line so we can create the sauce on top of it. You can put cream on it

:08:00. > :08:05.if you want to. I'm starting that this. I will get brown felt to make

:08:05. > :08:09.my pudding and cut this out. going to use this, this is some

:08:09. > :08:14.Holly. The finishing touches to the Christmas pudding. Once the design

:08:14. > :08:18.is on the paper, cut it out. That's what you stick on to your material.

:08:18. > :08:21.We've bought this from a craft shop but you can use any material that

:08:21. > :08:25.is lying around the house. You can be as creative as you like and

:08:25. > :08:29.recycle as much as you like at the same time. When it comes to putting

:08:29. > :08:34.things on the jumper, you can cell them on or do what we are doing

:08:34. > :08:39.today, use fabric glue, which is a lot quicker. I've got my pudding.

:08:39. > :08:43.Then I need to create some white sauce to pour over the top. I have

:08:43. > :08:47.some Glitter felt. I'm going to cut out a couple of strips of Holly to

:08:47. > :08:53.go on top. Rather than using the typical holly berries, I'm going to

:08:53. > :09:00.use some of these bells to go in the corner instead. I've got the

:09:00. > :09:07.wiggly line. That's brilliant. I need to create the Christmas

:09:07. > :09:12.pudding top. Am going to appease those two bits together. My brown

:09:12. > :09:15.circle and the glittery felt for the top, which is going to be the

:09:15. > :09:19.source dripping over the top. Now you need to attach them to the

:09:19. > :09:22.jumper. If you are selling them on, it's a good idea to place a piece

:09:22. > :09:26.of card between the front and back of the jumper because otherwise you

:09:27. > :09:31.will stitch them together and not be able to get inside of it. Just

:09:31. > :09:37.one more piece to go and then we are ready for the topping.

:09:37. > :09:43.going to stick the top of the Christmas pudding to the base using

:09:43. > :09:46.this, non-toxic fabrics glue. It's pretty easy to get hold of. You

:09:46. > :09:53.find in loads of different craft shops and supermarkets and

:09:53. > :09:58.department stores. It means you can do this really quickly. I want our

:09:58. > :10:01.Christmas pudding to look 3D. I'm going to use some of this. I'm

:10:01. > :10:11.going to put some of this behind the Christmas pudding so that it

:10:11. > :10:16.

:10:16. > :10:20.sticks out like that. That's Then I'm going to lay that over the

:10:20. > :10:25.top like that. I think the Pavlin looks good because it brings them

:10:25. > :10:34.to life a little bit. That's what I like about this, the carrot

:10:34. > :10:44.sticking out. Now the Holly is going on. Give us a splodge here.

:10:44. > :10:58.

:10:58. > :11:01.Jingling jumpers are definitely the Decorating your Christmas tree is

:11:01. > :11:05.just one of the things that happens at this time of year. Every

:11:05. > :11:11.December it is also time for Sports Personality of the Year. We have

:11:11. > :11:15.got a bit of an exclusive when it comes to Young Sports Personality

:11:15. > :11:25.of the Year. The top-ten contenders have been announced but our sneak

:11:25. > :11:26.

:11:26. > :11:34.My name is just have Craig, and a world record holder and I'm the

:11:34. > :11:39.youngest gold medallist at the 2012 Paralympic Games. To be nominated

:11:39. > :11:47.is the greatest honour I can think of. It is such a prestigious award.

:11:47. > :11:56.For me, it sums up the year I've had. Just have Craig, just 15 years

:11:56. > :12:01.old. He has won gold! He's broken his own world record again! I first

:12:02. > :12:06.took up swimming at the age of five. It was as a therapy for my cerebral

:12:06. > :12:09.palsy, to stop it from getting any more severe. I couldn't ask for a

:12:10. > :12:15.better school to go to because they gave me all the time I need to go

:12:15. > :12:22.and do my competitions. One of my biggest aims is to maintain my

:12:22. > :12:28.title and world record in Rio 2016 Games, and continued to be a very

:12:28. > :12:38.successful athlete that people can hopefully look up to and see as an

:12:38. > :12:42.

:12:42. > :12:52.I am Rebecca Tunney. I'm the youngest member of Team GB at the

:12:52. > :12:53.

:12:53. > :12:57.Being nominated for the award is a great achievement. I've always

:12:57. > :13:00.grown up watching it and thinking about the celebrities on telly.

:13:00. > :13:10.Being able to be part of it is overwhelming. The biggest highlight

:13:10. > :13:10.

:13:10. > :13:15.of this year was having been in the Last year it was kind of just a

:13:15. > :13:20.long shot. I was the baby of everyone so it was just a long shot

:13:20. > :13:24.Webber Wright got there or not. But I worked as hard as I could. You've

:13:24. > :13:29.got to have the dedication to come in the gym and do the work you have

:13:29. > :13:39.to do. But then to keep up with your schoolwork as well, you need

:13:39. > :13:42.

:13:42. > :13:46.We've got the Europeans next year and in two years we've got the

:13:47. > :13:56.Commonwealth Games. Then there is Rio in four years' time, but that's

:13:56. > :14:06.a long way away, you never know I'm just go Jane Applegate, and

:14:06. > :14:09.Paralympic gold medallist in the It has been a tough year for me, I

:14:10. > :14:14.had an operation before London, and that has been tough, going through

:14:14. > :14:18.that, but we still made it.. Jessica-Jane Applegate is swimming

:14:18. > :14:22.for gold, and she looks like she might just get to the line first.

:14:22. > :14:30.To secure another gold medal in the pool for Great Britain, and she has

:14:30. > :14:36.done so. When I got out the pool, my media lady said, you are going

:14:36. > :14:41.to get a gold post box and I screamed at her. On my average day

:14:41. > :14:49.I would be up at four, I would train from 5.30 to 7.30M the

:14:49. > :14:55.evening we start from 4.30 to 7.30. I missed my 16th birth day, I

:14:55. > :14:58.missed my school prom so my gold medal was per effect as a birthday

:14:58. > :15:02.present. To be nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is

:15:02. > :15:08.amazing. I know there has been a lot of nomination and to be one of

:15:08. > :15:10.them, it is really, just made me so happy. You can find out who wins

:15:10. > :15:15.that and the main Sports Personality of the Year on 16th

:15:15. > :15:19.December, across the BBC. Now, come with me. Barney and I are inside

:15:19. > :15:24.one of Europe's biggest Christmas theme park, we have split up

:15:24. > :15:33.because I am looking for elf school. Somewhere round here, there is a

:15:33. > :15:38.secret tunnel, which will lead me exactly to where I need to be.

:15:38. > :15:43.is elf school. Hello. I know this is a busy time for you. But you

:15:43. > :15:49.have agreed show me how to wrap the perfect present. Can you show me

:15:49. > :15:53.your tips. I have three tips. First we need to cut the exact right

:15:53. > :15:59.amount of paper. I have a precut amount of paper. I have a precut

:15:59. > :16:03.piece here. Not too big, not too small. Could I have some double

:16:03. > :16:09.sided tape please, because that is one of the very important tips of

:16:09. > :16:19.every gift wrapper. So double sided tape makes it neat. So it is tip

:16:19. > :16:19.

:16:19. > :16:24.two. Always use it. We have to fold it very neatly on the sides. Some

:16:24. > :16:29.double sided tape please. Is that tip three, the folding? Yes, of

:16:30. > :16:35.course. That is the secret of the elves. So right size paper, double

:16:35. > :16:41.sided tape, fold it neatly, and you have a perfect present. Excellent.

:16:41. > :16:46.Don't you just have magic? That would be all too easy, but we do

:16:46. > :16:51.have magical words. It will help you make a very good present. Let

:16:51. > :16:58.us have a challenge, because you like a Blue Peter presenter must be

:16:58. > :17:03.really good at it. I like a race, that is for sure. We are wrapping

:17:03. > :17:09.books so it is relatively easy. Sort of. We will see. 3, 2, 1, go!

:17:09. > :17:19.If I don't win. If you don't, you might never be allowed back into

:17:19. > :17:24.Santa's grotto. Oh no! Now you are putting me under pressure Ta-da! It

:17:24. > :17:29.is not the neatest, however, maybe if I use the magic words, it might

:17:29. > :17:37.turn into something better. I think you need to say them like three

:17:38. > :17:41.times. OK. Barney will appreciate times. OK. Barney will appreciate

:17:41. > :17:44.it. You are welcome. What is Christmas without Christmas

:17:45. > :17:47.crackers. It is rubbish. I have snuck into the workshop to show you

:17:47. > :17:50.snuck into the workshop to show you thousand make your own it is very

:17:50. > :17:56.simple. You will need wrapping paper, a good quality one that is

:17:56. > :18:00.nice and thick. You will need A4 card. I have gone for silver and

:18:00. > :18:04.sparkly. You will need these. These are cracker snaps, that goes in the

:18:04. > :18:09.centre. When you pull it, that makes the bang sound. You can get

:18:09. > :18:13.that from a craft shop. You will need scissor, tape, a ruler, some

:18:13. > :18:16.blue, and you will need a shampoo bottle like this. A tall one that

:18:16. > :18:22.is round. It is important it is round. Then you will need the

:18:22. > :18:27.things that go inside, the toys. I have gone for the class ib, sweets,

:18:27. > :18:31.Toffees, the paper hats you have to have a paper hat. Let us start. You

:18:31. > :18:36.will need to take the wrapping paper and cut it to size. Then you

:18:36. > :18:42.need to make the barrel, that holds the presents. To do that, take your

:18:42. > :18:47.card, and make a mark, half way and cut it right down the middle. That

:18:47. > :18:50.is the perfect side for the barrel to hold your toys. To make it into

:18:50. > :18:54.a tube, that is where the bottle comes in. Place it in the middle

:18:54. > :19:01.and wrap the card round the outside. A good trick is to use double sided

:19:01. > :19:05.tape and stick it on the top. So when you roll this it will stick to

:19:05. > :19:10.itself, rather than having to mess about sticking it after. Take your

:19:10. > :19:15.bottle, roll it gently, making sure both sides meet each other, as you

:19:15. > :19:20.roll it over, it should stick, and give you your tube. Now, you need

:19:20. > :19:27.to work out where the centre of the paper is. So about there. You put

:19:27. > :19:31.your double sided tape across that line. Carefully does it Barney! And

:19:31. > :19:35.then the same at the top of the paper, like this. Lovely. You put

:19:35. > :19:38.your tube in place, right down the centre of the paper, and then you

:19:39. > :19:43.take your cracker snap and feed it through the middle of the tune,

:19:43. > :19:49.just like that. And simply you stick this down with tape as well.

:19:49. > :19:55.Like that. Once that is stuck down, you roll your tube backwards and

:19:55. > :19:58.forwards, so that it sticks. Nice and tidy. And sticks just like that.

:19:58. > :20:03.That will leave you with a Christmas cracker tube. You need to

:20:03. > :20:08.put the toys in here, but if you do they will fall through, we have to

:20:08. > :20:13.make a stop at one end. I will use this stuff. This is brilliant. It

:20:13. > :20:18.is that stuff you wrap round presents to make them sparkly. Give

:20:18. > :20:24.yourself enough. You can always trim it. This is where the bottle

:20:25. > :20:30.comes in handy. Your slide it into one end. You will feel it meet the

:20:30. > :20:37.tube in the middle. Pull it back out a bit, and test if you have a

:20:37. > :20:42.big enough gap to tie the string. Once you know you have enough space,

:20:42. > :20:46.slide your ribbon underneath. Tie it in a bow in that gap. This is

:20:46. > :20:52.why the wrapping paper needs to be strong. If it wasn't, it would tear,

:20:52. > :21:01.you don't want that. Now you have create add stop at one end, you can

:21:01. > :21:08.put your toys in. We will take some Toffees, a paper hat, which also

:21:08. > :21:13.goes in, and I will use, this is like confetti, it is like a star

:21:13. > :21:19.confetti, when it is pulled you get an explosion of presents. A novelty

:21:19. > :21:23.toy. Helen can use that for her hair or something! Once you are

:21:23. > :21:30.happy your presents are in, do the same thing with the bottle on the

:21:30. > :21:35.other side. Find the gap. Once you have your space, neckache sure it

:21:35. > :21:40.is tight again. Just till you think it is about to rip, and put the bow

:21:40. > :21:47.round the side. There you have it. A finished cracker. All the details

:21:47. > :21:53.you need are on the Blue Peter you need are on the Blue Peter

:21:53. > :21:58.website.. Is that for me? Yes. it my pony? These look brilliant.

:21:58. > :22:02.Would you like to pull one? please. One, two, three. I never

:22:02. > :22:08.win these. I wish you had put a joke in. But you put in something

:22:08. > :22:11.for my hair. Knock, knock. Who ease there. Me, I have no jokes left.

:22:11. > :22:16.What a great ep society sod it has been. We have shown you something

:22:16. > :22:20.Christmassy to wear and we have shown you how to make crackers.

:22:20. > :22:25.This time of year is famed for great telly. David Walliams's

:22:25. > :22:33.children's book has been made into a TV drama on BBC One. So when Mr

:22:33. > :22:41.Stink was being made we sent Johnny Pitts along to get the inside story.

:22:41. > :22:47.As a TV presenter I find mims backstage but none are as smelly as

:22:47. > :22:51.this one! But I suppose it is to be expected. I am backstage at Mr

:22:51. > :22:57.Stink. It is based on the 2009 best selling book by David Walliams,

:22:57. > :23:01.about a young girl sheltering a Mely man in her parents' shed

:23:01. > :23:06.without them finding out very cheeky. Before I get chance to meet

:23:06. > :23:09.the star, I need to prove my worth and get stuck in with the set

:23:09. > :23:13.design team. They need help decorating a shed. This is the

:23:13. > :23:18.first time I have deck rated a shed. Using items that other people would

:23:18. > :23:22.usually think of as rubbish, the guys will turn this ordinary shed

:23:22. > :23:28.into a derelict wonder land. This will be on a major BBC show. I feel

:23:28. > :23:34.there is pressure to get this right. So where do I put it? Where you

:23:34. > :23:40.feel, anywhere. If we do it on the gold bits, is that all right. Wax

:23:40. > :23:50.on, wax off! You can even throw it at it. I can throw it. OK. Let

:23:50. > :23:53.there be magic. Yes, masterpiece. In the time it has taken me to

:23:53. > :23:58.sprinkle glitter on this branch and myself, the team have transformed

:23:58. > :24:03.the shed. Claudia, in is amazing. It is not quite finished but it is

:24:03. > :24:08.nearly there Look at this. To me this looks completely magical. I

:24:08. > :24:13.have to say I think it is that branch that makes the scene, you

:24:13. > :24:16.know. Definitely. Now the art department are happy with my work

:24:16. > :24:21.and the photo shoot is underway I have taken the opportunity to sniff

:24:21. > :24:25.out a quick chat with some of the stars. Tell us about this guy.

:24:25. > :24:32.is a bit of a loner, he has been walking the roads of Britain for

:24:32. > :24:38.many many years and then he comes across Chloe who takes him into her

:24:38. > :24:43.home for Christmas. Kpwhr such unimaginable kindness. You play

:24:43. > :24:47.Chloe, she lets a smelly man into her house, why does she do that?

:24:47. > :24:51.She starts to form a real connection with this character, Mr

:24:51. > :24:55.Stink, she doesn't want him to get cold or anything, and she wants him

:24:55. > :25:00.to have a place to stairs she wanted to be with her friends, she

:25:00. > :25:05.keeps him in the shed. Sorry it is just a shed. But it gets you off

:25:05. > :25:15.the streets. There is no ensuite but there is a bucket. A buck Celt.

:25:15. > :25:19.

:25:19. > :25:24.Very la-di-da. -- a bucket. Serpents of Doom. You play Chloe's

:25:24. > :25:28.mum, you are very competitive. mum has gone batty. She wants to

:25:28. > :25:34.become the local MP. She is going out campaigning and trying to get

:25:34. > :25:38.people to vote. Thank you for visiting the website. As Chloe's

:25:38. > :25:42.dad, what do you make of Mr Stink who comes into your house? I am

:25:42. > :25:47.sympathetic in way, she is the daughter he is getting a hard time,

:25:48. > :25:51.because of what is going on with her mum's political ambition.

:25:51. > :25:56.ban the wearing of leggings in public because they are common.

:25:56. > :26:02.Most importantly of all, the homeless will be removed from the

:26:02. > :26:10.streets. Soap dodger, portable wine tasting club, they are a menace to

:26:10. > :26:13.society. Thank you. I forgot to press record. Ow! Give us some tips

:26:13. > :26:17.about what David Walliams said to you to get into the character.

:26:17. > :26:23.put his hand on my shoulder and he said Hugh, you really stink, so I

:26:23. > :26:29.took it as a compliment. I thought there is a character insight really.

:26:29. > :26:36.My auntie sent me 5 for a Christmas card. I wanted you to

:26:36. > :26:40.have it. To buy a blanket or some soap. Thank you but I have no use

:26:40. > :26:44.for sorpbgs I had a bath last year. Shut the door on your way out. I

:26:44. > :26:48.hope we are doing David's book justice, if people don't like it,

:26:48. > :26:51.it is his fault. There you have it. I have been sniffing round

:26:51. > :26:59.backstage and chatting to the cast about what I think will be the

:26:59. > :27:03.biggest hit this Wynter. I smell success, among a few other things!

:27:03. > :27:08.That is going to be brilliant. There is loads of good stuff on the

:27:08. > :27:15.telly over Christmas. Will be in my Christmas jumper watching it. I

:27:15. > :27:23.forgot to post my letter to Santa Claus. Forget post boxes, I think

:27:23. > :27:29.we can do one better, What do you mean? Have a look in there. It is

:27:29. > :27:33.Santa Claus. Hello Santa. Here is what is happening next week. I have
