6:31:09 > 6:31:10Thank you very much.

6:31:12 > 6:31:15Yeah, I got you guys just a little something.

6:31:15 > 6:31:17So happy Easter.

6:31:17 > 6:31:21From the bottom of my heart, there you go. Don't eat them all at once.

6:31:21 > 6:31:23It's the thought that counts.

6:31:23 > 6:31:25Another Easter treat we've got coming your way

6:31:25 > 6:31:26is a performance from Elyar Fox.

6:31:26 > 6:31:29So we want to hear from you with your questions.

6:31:29 > 6:31:32What question would you ask Elyar if he was in the studio?

6:31:32 > 6:31:36I think I'd ask him who would you most like to duet with?

6:31:36 > 6:31:39I'd like to know how he feels when he has one live performance

6:31:39 > 6:31:42and he's nervous and he's holding the microphone. That's tough.

6:31:42 > 6:31:44What would you like to know? Get in touch.

6:31:44 > 6:31:46You can ask Elyar anything you like.

6:31:46 > 6:31:49We'll try and read out as many as we can at the end of the show.

6:31:49 > 6:31:53- That reminds me.- Check that out.

6:31:53 > 6:31:55- Wow.- I have to give it to Elyar before the end of the show.

6:31:57 > 6:32:00- Is she for real? - That was massive.- Serious?

6:32:01 > 6:32:04I'll open this. It's going to take me ages, obviously(!)

6:32:04 > 6:32:06You tell everyone what's coming up.

6:32:06 > 6:32:09What would you say if I asked you what a lifeguard looks like?

6:32:09 > 6:32:12Tall.

6:32:12 > 6:32:13Brave.

6:32:13 > 6:32:15Strong!

6:32:15 > 6:32:17A bit like me, really!

6:32:17 > 6:32:19Hiya.

6:32:19 > 6:32:20Not you, Barney.

6:32:20 > 6:32:22What if I said to you, webbed feet,

6:32:22 > 6:32:24a fluffy coat, a wet nose and a rudder-like tail?

6:32:24 > 6:32:28- I don't have webbed feet. - It's not you, Barney.

6:32:28 > 6:32:31Find out who I went face-to-face with as I went to Portishead Marina.

6:32:31 > 6:32:32I do have a wet nose, though.

6:32:39 > 6:32:41If you get into trouble at the beach,

6:32:41 > 6:32:44then you'd hope that you'd get rescued.

6:32:44 > 6:32:46But you probably weren't expecting

6:32:46 > 6:32:47that help to come in the form of a dog.

6:32:51 > 6:32:52Good boy.

6:32:56 > 6:32:58Meet Ellie. She's from Newfound Friends,

6:32:58 > 6:33:02a charity that trains Newfoundland dogs to help rescue people at sea.

6:33:02 > 6:33:06The Newfoundland breed originates from, you've guessed it,

6:33:06 > 6:33:08Newfoundland in Canada.

6:33:08 > 6:33:11It's an area famous for its fishing and these strong animals

6:33:11 > 6:33:14were originally used as working dogs for fishermen.

6:33:14 > 6:33:17But today, it's going to be me working with them.

6:33:19 > 6:33:22What is it about Newfoundlands that make them good rescue dogs?

6:33:22 > 6:33:24They have really big webbed feet,

6:33:24 > 6:33:27which helps them swim through the water.

6:33:27 > 6:33:30A thick double coat, which helps to keep them warm.

6:33:30 > 6:33:34- And they're amazingly strong. - They are absolutely massive.

6:33:34 > 6:33:35Yes, massive dogs.

6:33:35 > 6:33:39- How much do they weigh?- They can weigh up to- 13st. I'm 11st.

6:33:39 > 6:33:41So that's a BIG dog.

6:33:41 > 6:33:43How do they train to become rescue dogs?

6:33:43 > 6:33:46We train them from a young age, getting them used to the water,

6:33:46 > 6:33:50swimming, retrieving, holding things in their mouths.

6:33:50 > 6:33:54Eventually, they build up to jumping off the boat into the water

6:33:54 > 6:33:56to rescue someone.

6:33:56 > 6:33:59These dogs are stronger swimmers than lifeguards?

6:33:59 > 6:34:01Yes. They're immensely strong swimmers.

6:34:01 > 6:34:04- They can pull up to ten people at one time.- No!

6:34:04 > 6:34:08Myself and a lifeguard would struggle to pull two or three at one time.

6:34:08 > 6:34:12- So they jump off a boat to rescue a casualty?- Yes.

6:34:12 > 6:34:15Someone will be in trouble in the water.

6:34:15 > 6:34:17They'll always jump with someone, with a trained lifeguard,

6:34:17 > 6:34:22because they can't talk to a casualty that's in the water.

6:34:22 > 6:34:25The lifeguard's there to do what the dog can't, basically.

6:34:25 > 6:34:28While these dogs have impressive power that makes them ideal

6:34:28 > 6:34:31to rescue people, they do need some guidance.

6:34:31 > 6:34:35Usually this comes in the form of an experienced handler like Ellie.

6:34:35 > 6:34:37Today, they've agreed to let me have a go

6:34:37 > 6:34:40with one of their Newfoundland dogs, Landi.

6:34:40 > 6:34:43Ellie, I've got the kit on, what am I going to be doing?

6:34:43 > 6:34:47OK, so basically, you need to run off the end of here and jump in.

6:34:47 > 6:34:50The dog will follow you off the pontoon.

6:34:50 > 6:34:53It'll go to the casualty. Once the casualty has hold of the harness,

6:34:53 > 6:34:56tell the dog to go to the boat.

6:34:56 > 6:34:58Hopefully, Landi goes to the boat.

6:34:58 > 6:35:00Are there any guarantees she'll do that?

6:35:00 > 6:35:05If you're calm and assertive, then yes. Hopefully!

6:35:05 > 6:35:07She's never worked with you before,

6:35:07 > 6:35:09so this is all new to her as well as you.

6:35:09 > 6:35:11She'll be looking to you for guidance.

6:35:11 > 6:35:14So from the sounds of things, it's all on me.

6:35:14 > 6:35:16Chloe is playing the role of a stranded swimmer

6:35:16 > 6:35:19and it's down to me and Landi to rescue her.

6:35:23 > 6:35:24GO!

6:35:31 > 6:35:33Good girl. Harness.

6:35:37 > 6:35:39Boat.

6:35:40 > 6:35:41Good girl, Landi.

6:35:47 > 6:35:49Landi was absolutely perfect.

6:35:49 > 6:35:53She followed me immediately off the pontoon. She got to Chloe.

6:35:53 > 6:35:57I said "boat" and she went straight for the boat. Well done, Landi.

6:35:57 > 6:35:59Good girl.

6:35:59 > 6:36:03Although that was pretty amazing, these dogs can do so much more.

6:36:03 > 6:36:06There is one last rescue for me to take part in.

6:36:24 > 6:36:25This is unbelievable.

6:36:25 > 6:36:30A single dog pulling an entire boat all on its own! Incredible!

6:36:37 > 6:36:39Now, there is no way we could go today

6:36:39 > 6:36:41without introducing you to Tizz.

6:36:41 > 6:36:45He is only ten weeks old. The cutest puppy of all time.

6:36:45 > 6:36:48He'll not be fully grown until he's a year, and he won't be life-saving

6:36:48 > 6:36:52until he's three. He's just getting used to the water at the moment,

6:36:52 > 6:36:53and we think he's fantastic.

6:36:56 > 6:37:01Before today, I had no idea that in water, dogs really do save lives.

6:37:01 > 6:37:04And if I was stranded for real, I'd be pretty relieved

6:37:04 > 6:37:07if what I saw coming to save me was a Newfoundland dog.

6:37:11 > 6:37:15- Cute.- It was such a good day. But thank you...- And the puppy.

6:37:15 > 6:37:18Ha-ha! We all want one of those.

6:37:18 > 6:37:21Thank you to all the Newfound Friends team.

6:37:21 > 6:37:23And especially, a big thanks to Darcy and Landi, the dogs.

6:37:23 > 6:37:26The cutest things ever. Now if you saw last week's show

6:37:26 > 6:37:29you'll have seen me attempt to make an Easter nest.

6:37:29 > 6:37:34- It didn't go that well.- It didn't. If you didn't see it, look at this.

6:37:34 > 6:37:363-2-1.

6:37:36 > 6:37:39OK, that's what you call pear-shaped.

6:37:40 > 6:37:42That's live TV for you.

6:37:42 > 6:37:45And that's my quality of presenting.

6:37:45 > 6:37:47Now, somebody who did deliver like the mailman is Amelie.

6:37:47 > 6:37:50She'll 11, from Harrow. Feast your eyes on that.

6:37:50 > 6:37:53- It's the sport badge colours, as well.- It is.- That's so good.

6:37:53 > 6:37:56And our names are on all of those eggs.

6:37:56 > 6:37:58- That is excellent. - Well done, Amelie.

6:37:58 > 6:38:01And this week, the Badge Wall is absolutely covered in your pictures.

6:38:01 > 6:38:05Have a look at this from Ruby in Hull. Barney, she's made you a card,

6:38:05 > 6:38:06and it says "Get well soon."

6:38:06 > 6:38:09You've got all the badges there, all the different colours.

6:38:09 > 6:38:12And if we open it, we've each got a bracelet and it says,

6:38:12 > 6:38:15"it's not the same without you." I agree. We missed you.

6:38:15 > 6:38:17Ruby, that's made me feel loads better. Thank you.

6:38:17 > 6:38:19Take a look at the one next door to Ruby's.

6:38:19 > 6:38:22I don't mean next door to her house - we don't know where she lives.

6:38:22 > 6:38:25It says "Hoppy Easter." It's all three of us dressed as rabbits

6:38:25 > 6:38:28with Easter baskets full of eggs on the Blue Peter ship.

6:38:28 > 6:38:29- Amazing.- I want to do that.

6:38:29 > 6:38:32We should make the sea out of chocolate.

6:38:32 > 6:38:34Lily, thank you very much. It's brilliant.

6:38:34 > 6:38:37- And so is what you're about to see. Laters, dudes.- See you later.

6:38:37 > 6:38:40You've seen this on TV, I'm sure. This is known as sport stacking.

6:38:40 > 6:38:42And I've been doing this for a few years now.

6:38:42 > 6:38:43Yeah, I'm a bit of a dab hand.

6:38:43 > 6:38:45In fact, this is a clip of me earlier on.

6:38:49 > 6:38:53All right, fine, that's not supposed to happen. That's rewinding.

6:38:53 > 6:38:56We recorded it earlier. But people can do it that fast in real-life.

6:38:56 > 6:38:58It's true. You don't believe me, do you? OK, watch this.

6:39:01 > 6:39:03This is the World Sport Stacking Championships,

6:39:03 > 6:39:05taking place next weekend in South Korea.

6:39:05 > 6:39:09Sport stacking involves stacking plastic cups in specific sequences

6:39:09 > 6:39:11in as little time as possible.

6:39:11 > 6:39:13At the World Championships,

6:39:13 > 6:39:15the best of the best compete against each other.

6:39:15 > 6:39:18Over two days, 300 of the world's fastest stackers

6:39:18 > 6:39:21from 18 different countries will come together

6:39:21 > 6:39:23to vie for the title in several events.

6:39:23 > 6:39:25Individuals, Doubles, Relays

6:39:25 > 6:39:28and the Speed Stacks International Challenge.

6:39:28 > 6:39:30Just in case you're wondering,

6:39:30 > 6:39:33that footage you saw was not sped up.

6:39:33 > 6:39:35That was actual real time. There's a guy in the studio

6:39:35 > 6:39:38who can do it in real life. Let's have a round of applause for James.

6:39:38 > 6:39:41APPLAUSE

6:39:41 > 6:39:44- So good to see you. Welcome to the show.- Thank you.

6:39:44 > 6:39:46So, the World Championships next weekend.

6:39:46 > 6:39:48You're representing Great Britain.

6:39:48 > 6:39:52- That is correct.- How does it feel? - I feel really excited about it.

6:39:52 > 6:39:55I've really wanted to represent my own country

6:39:55 > 6:39:58and it's something I've really wanted to do.

6:39:58 > 6:40:02- You've been doing it for a long time?- For nearly five years already.

6:40:02 > 6:40:05Five years' training gets you some medals. Check these out.

6:40:05 > 6:40:07These are gold medals and a bronze medal at the end.

6:40:07 > 6:40:10- Tell us how you got those. - Those are from Germany

6:40:10 > 6:40:12and the other one is from America.

6:40:12 > 6:40:16I came eighth place in 3-3-3, tenth place in 3-6-3

6:40:16 > 6:40:18and fifth place in the cycle.

6:40:18 > 6:40:223-3-3, 3-6-3 are names of different sequences that you do with the cups?

6:40:22 > 6:40:25- That's right.- You're going to teach me the 3-3-3, which is three cups.

6:40:25 > 6:40:28Before I do that, we're going to see just how good James is.

6:40:28 > 6:40:30This is World Championship standard.

6:40:30 > 6:40:32It's all yours. What is this one called?

6:40:32 > 6:40:36- This is the cycle, the hardest for beginners to do.- OK. It's all yours.

6:40:48 > 6:40:50YES!

6:40:50 > 6:40:53Radzi clearly very excited! This is slow motion - it still looks quick.

6:40:53 > 6:40:55It's ridiculous, James.

6:40:55 > 6:40:57That is some practice you've done there.

6:40:57 > 6:41:00So I had a little go at the 3-3-3 earlier on.

6:41:00 > 6:41:02I thought I might have a go now.

6:41:02 > 6:41:05So just to give you an idea of how quick James is

6:41:05 > 6:41:07and how slow I am, this is how I do it.

6:41:07 > 6:41:09You ready? 3-2-1, go!

6:41:15 > 6:41:17And a little girly jump at the end.

6:41:17 > 6:41:20So I think I'm ready for this. I think we should do a race.

6:41:20 > 6:41:23- Are you up for the challenge, soldier?- Yeah.

6:41:23 > 6:41:27- But I don't want to go too fast on you.- You go as fast as you like.

6:41:27 > 6:41:29It doesn't matter, because you'll be blindfolded.

6:41:29 > 6:41:31Thank you very much.

6:41:32 > 6:41:34That's fair, innit? World Champ.

6:41:34 > 6:41:39Ready for this? I can't believe he's doing this blindfolded.

6:41:39 > 6:41:41In three, two, one... Go!

6:41:46 > 6:41:49Really? World Championship standard, blindfolded.

6:41:49 > 6:41:50A huge round of applause for James,

6:41:50 > 6:41:53and best of luck at the World Championships.

6:41:53 > 6:41:55- Thank you very much. - Well done, mate. Incredible.

6:41:58 > 6:42:01I cannot believe that, James. You are amazing.

6:42:01 > 6:42:04We know that you love using loads of bright colours in your artwork.

6:42:04 > 6:42:07Have a look at this from Maisey from Liverpool.

6:42:07 > 6:42:10She sent in this Blue Peter colourful bit of artwork.

6:42:10 > 6:42:13A couple of weeks ago, I got to go to a new exhibition in London.

6:42:13 > 6:42:16And trust me, the word colourful doesn't even begin to cut it.

6:42:20 > 6:42:23This spring, London is playing host

6:42:23 > 6:42:25to the big exhibition of the art world.

6:42:27 > 6:42:29People will come from all over the world

6:42:29 > 6:42:31to see the works of French artist Henri Matisse.

6:42:33 > 6:42:37While other artists like Edward Hopper were painting pictures

6:42:37 > 6:42:40with darker shades that were as realistic as possible

6:42:41 > 6:42:46Matisse did things his own way using bright, bold colours

6:42:46 > 6:42:48to make his images stunning.

6:42:48 > 6:42:51In this, a simple oil painting of a blue table,

6:42:51 > 6:42:54Matisse has used colours that ooze life

6:42:54 > 6:42:56and are intended to just look good.

6:42:57 > 6:42:59His influence can be seen everywhere,

6:42:59 > 6:43:02from the bold colours of modern architecture

6:43:02 > 6:43:06to fashion, interior design and even book covers.

6:43:07 > 6:43:09But people heading to this exhibition

6:43:09 > 6:43:11aren't coming along for the paintings.

6:43:13 > 6:43:17In his later life, Matisse picked up scissors and started to cut.

6:43:22 > 6:43:25By cutting into brightly coloured paper and creating bold shapes

6:43:25 > 6:43:28and lines, he invented a whole new art form.

6:43:28 > 6:43:29Painting with scissors.

6:43:32 > 6:43:35Matisse's cut outs are now thought to be his boldest

6:43:35 > 6:43:37and most imaginative work.

6:43:40 > 6:43:45Flavia is the assistant curator of the exhibition at Tate Modern.

6:43:45 > 6:43:48So cutting out shapes seems to be something that's quite simple.

6:43:48 > 6:43:51So why does Matisse do it in such a special, clever way?

6:43:51 > 6:43:54Actually, it's more difficult than you think.

6:43:54 > 6:43:57For a start, he's using different-sized scissors.

6:43:57 > 6:44:00- He has scissors going from this big to this big.- Oh, wow.

6:44:00 > 6:44:03Depending on the shapes, he's adapting

6:44:03 > 6:44:08and using different scissors. And secondly, the dexterity of his hand

6:44:08 > 6:44:12is so fluid that even though the shapes look simple,

6:44:12 > 6:44:15they actual take a lot of work.

6:44:15 > 6:44:18He's doing it all in one go. He doesn't stop.

6:44:18 > 6:44:22What makes Matisse famous is his different use of colours.

6:44:22 > 6:44:23It's bright and vivid.

6:44:23 > 6:44:26How do you think that has impacted what we see around us today?

6:44:26 > 6:44:29Even the most simple things,

6:44:29 > 6:44:31the idea of bringing together two very bright colours,

6:44:31 > 6:44:33like purple and orange,

6:44:33 > 6:44:37- it's a very Matissian idea.- He wasn't afraid of colour clash!

6:44:37 > 6:44:42- No.- A bit like us today! - Exactly. We're very Matissian.

6:44:43 > 6:44:45So I'm dressed for the part.

6:44:45 > 6:44:48How can I help to put the finishing touches to the exhibition?

6:44:49 > 6:44:54- This is your artwork, the one you're going to help us hang.- OK.

6:44:54 > 6:44:58- What is this one called? - Small Dancer On A Red Background.

6:44:58 > 6:45:02- It's tiny and delicate compared to the bigger ones.- It is.

6:45:02 > 6:45:04It's one of the earliest works he made.

6:45:04 > 6:45:07- What do we need to do first? - We need to go and stand here.

6:45:08 > 6:45:12- So that we have a good distance. - And these guys are going to help us.

6:45:12 > 6:45:14They are.

6:45:14 > 6:45:16So, they're going to hold it up for us.

6:45:16 > 6:45:19And now the tough decision.

6:45:19 > 6:45:20To the left? To the right?

6:45:20 > 6:45:24I would say there's a smaller gap here than there

6:45:24 > 6:45:26so I would move it to the left. Is that wrong?

6:45:26 > 6:45:30- Slightly wrong...- OK.- ..because this work relates to that work,

6:45:30 > 6:45:33- so the gap should be smaller. - So, you reckon there?

6:45:33 > 6:45:36- Is that a good spot?- I think they should put it there.

6:45:36 > 6:45:39What do you normally do when you're happy? Big thumbs up?

6:45:39 > 6:45:42- I say, "Let's put it up." - Let's put it up.

6:45:45 > 6:45:50- And there it is. It looks good, right?- Well done.- Thank you.

6:45:54 > 6:45:56I was so lucky to go to that.

6:45:56 > 6:45:58I had a great time. thank you so much, Flavia,

6:45:58 > 6:45:59for helping me out as well.

6:45:59 > 6:46:02Now, something we're going to be showing you how to do today is

6:46:02 > 6:46:06these - because whilst Matisse artwork might look really complicated

6:46:06 > 6:46:09and fantastic, it's actually very easy to create yourself using

6:46:09 > 6:46:11loads of different colours and shapes.

6:46:11 > 6:46:13Today, we'll show you how to make your very own

6:46:13 > 6:46:16Matisse-inspired artwork with a bit of a Blue Peter twist.

6:46:16 > 6:46:20And joining me today is a very special guest, live on the show.

6:46:20 > 6:46:23- It is the great-granddaughter of Matisse, please welcome Sophie!- Hi.

6:46:23 > 6:46:27Hi, Sophie. Thank you so much for coming here.

6:46:27 > 6:46:29- It's really, really special to have you here.- For me, too.

6:46:29 > 6:46:32And now someone else we've got joining us

6:46:32 > 6:46:34as well was the person who made this.

6:46:34 > 6:46:36It's another Matisse-inspired bit of artwork.

6:46:36 > 6:46:37And we thought, you know what,

6:46:37 > 6:46:41it's so good, we need to get Jessica on the show. Please welcome Jessica.

6:46:41 > 6:46:43APPLAUSE

6:46:43 > 6:46:46Hi, guys. Thank you so much for coming in.

6:46:46 > 6:46:48Now, Jessica, before I ask you who you've got here, talk me

6:46:48 > 6:46:51through how you made this, cos it looks amazing.

6:46:51 > 6:46:53I just got a lot of plastic bags and sort of

6:46:53 > 6:46:55mushed them all together.

6:46:55 > 6:46:58And then ironed them with parchment paper on top and bottom.

6:46:58 > 6:47:01- So they all melted together to make this Blue Peter logo?- Yeah.

6:47:01 > 6:47:04It's really creative, we love it. Thank you for coming in.

6:47:04 > 6:47:05Who have you brought with you today?

6:47:05 > 6:47:08I've brought my sister Emily, my friend Amelia,

6:47:08 > 6:47:09my brother Ben, and Finn.

6:47:09 > 6:47:11Hi, guys.

6:47:11 > 6:47:14While you get started - you've already made a little start

6:47:14 > 6:47:16on your Matisse artwork - what are we going to need?

6:47:16 > 6:47:22- We're going to need a Blue Peter ship cut out.- Emily?- Coloured paper.

6:47:22 > 6:47:24Lots of coloured paper. Very important.

6:47:24 > 6:47:27A white A3 piece of paper.

6:47:27 > 6:47:29- Ben.- Some glue.- And scissors.

6:47:29 > 6:47:32Thank you, Finn. Beautifully delivered, everyone.

6:47:32 > 6:47:37Remember, all the details on the website. So check those out later.

6:47:37 > 6:47:38But now, sit back, relax,

6:47:38 > 6:47:41and watch us make these Matisse-inspired bits of artwork.

6:47:41 > 6:47:44Now, Sophie, you're an artist yourself.

6:47:44 > 6:47:47So what's it like to see this exhibition come together?

6:47:47 > 6:47:49- It must be quite special for you. - It is very special.

6:47:49 > 6:47:51Everything feels very alive.

6:47:51 > 6:47:53The show is beautiful, the colours are amazing.

6:47:53 > 6:47:57That really struck me when I went, there's just colour everywhere.

6:47:57 > 6:48:01- And it took quite a long time... - It took five years.- Five years?

6:48:01 > 6:48:05Five years to collect the work that was shown coming from America,

6:48:05 > 6:48:08coming from Europe, coming from Russia, from all over the world.

6:48:08 > 6:48:10So it's a very special event.

6:48:10 > 6:48:13- And quite emotional because it's your great-grandfather.- Yes, absolutely.

6:48:13 > 6:48:17- But the colours are absolutely... They're very alive.- Very bold.

6:48:17 > 6:48:18And that's the key here.

6:48:18 > 6:48:21Basically, all you need to do is remember to use

6:48:21 > 6:48:22loads of different colour.

6:48:22 > 6:48:25It's not difficult, as long as you're getting shapes

6:48:25 > 6:48:28and lots of different colour. That's the most important thing.

6:48:28 > 6:48:30As we can see, demonstrated beautifully by Jessica.

6:48:30 > 6:48:32How are you getting on?

6:48:32 > 6:48:35Good. I'm making a paintbrush and paint splat Matisse-inspired...

6:48:35 > 6:48:38- Oh, I like it. Is that cos you're into art?- Yes.

6:48:38 > 6:48:41I like the brushes as well. They look brilliant. What about you, Emily?

6:48:41 > 6:48:43I'm making a Blue Peter logo

6:48:43 > 6:48:45with lots of colours around it.

6:48:45 > 6:48:47That looks brilliant.

6:48:47 > 6:48:50And, if you remember when I held this one up earlier, you can

6:48:50 > 6:48:53just make out that, amongst all the shapes and colour, there is,

6:48:53 > 6:48:55actually, the Blue Peter logo right there.

6:48:55 > 6:48:57You can see the sails of the ship, the hull,

6:48:57 > 6:48:59and then the sea over there.

6:48:59 > 6:49:01So, remember, you can get that template from the website,

6:49:01 > 6:49:03if you need it.

6:49:03 > 6:49:06Now, we've got some great footage, Sophie.

6:49:06 > 6:49:10If you look behind you, it's your great-grandfather actually working.

6:49:10 > 6:49:13- He looks good, no? - He looks brilliant.

6:49:13 > 6:49:14What is brilliant as well is

6:49:14 > 6:49:18- the way he's cutting is so smooth and so quick.- Yes.

6:49:18 > 6:49:21It's not random, what he's doing, is it? He's not just guessing.

6:49:21 > 6:49:23No, he's thought about it a lot before.

6:49:23 > 6:49:26It's gone over in his mind, over and over again.

6:49:26 > 6:49:28So, by the time he gets to the scissors,

6:49:28 > 6:49:29it's just very smooth flowing.

6:49:29 > 6:49:31He really is just painting with scissors, isn't he?

6:49:31 > 6:49:37- It's how we would do a brush stroke. - It's coming very easy to him. Yeah.

6:49:37 > 6:49:41Actually, he made some massive paintings as well. How big were they?

6:49:41 > 6:49:44Cos he used to cover his studio, didn't he?

6:49:44 > 6:49:50Yeah, he had walls of 3m by 15m. I mean The Snail is...

6:49:50 > 6:49:53I think it's about 3m by 3m.

6:49:53 > 6:49:57- Almost verging on as big as me. - Yeah, it's much bigger than us.

6:49:57 > 6:49:59Talk us through The Snail a little bit.

6:49:59 > 6:50:03- It's one of his most famous bits of art.- It's really nice.

6:50:03 > 6:50:06I mean, you have huge blocks of stunning colour.

6:50:06 > 6:50:08It feels very alive.

6:50:08 > 6:50:11You can't tell quite where the head is or where the tail is,

6:50:11 > 6:50:15but that's part of the fun, is to try to... Where do you think it is?

6:50:15 > 6:50:18- For everybody, it might be different.- Everybody can understand

6:50:18 > 6:50:20Matisse artwork differently.

6:50:20 > 6:50:22And if you don't have scissors, you can always tear the paper.

6:50:22 > 6:50:24That's very Blue Peter, we like that.

6:50:24 > 6:50:27Just tear it. Do whatever you want and be creative.

6:50:27 > 6:50:29Amelia, how are you getting on? Yours is very neat.

6:50:29 > 6:50:33- It's not torn at all, is it?- No. - She has several pairs of scissors.

6:50:33 > 6:50:37Lots of scissors for yours! What's your inspiration?

6:50:37 > 6:50:39- I'm making a dog because I have a dog at home.- I like that.

6:50:39 > 6:50:42And there is lots of colours. It's very bold. What about you, Ben?

6:50:42 > 6:50:44- How are you getting on? - I'm making a football.

6:50:44 > 6:50:47You're a big football fan, aren't you?

6:50:47 > 6:50:48Shall we have a look at them all,

6:50:48 > 6:50:51cos we've all been working on these this afternoon.

6:50:51 > 6:50:52So, let's hold them up.

6:50:52 > 6:50:55Quick, Finn, get that last bit on.

6:50:55 > 6:50:56Don't panic.

6:50:56 > 6:51:00They look absolutely brilliant, well done, everyone.

6:51:00 > 6:51:04Jessica, thank you so much for giving us this inspiration. And remember,

6:51:04 > 6:51:10if you have a go at home, do take a picture and e-mail it to us.

6:51:10 > 6:51:12Sophie, a massive thank you for coming in.

6:51:12 > 6:51:16- It's been really special having you here.- Thank you so much.- Thank you.

6:51:16 > 6:51:17How are you getting on, boys?

6:51:17 > 6:51:20We're having a great time over here, thank you very much.

6:51:20 > 6:51:23Do you know what? Really simple but so effective. Really like that.

6:51:23 > 6:51:25Now, we hope you at home have a go as well.

6:51:25 > 6:51:27It's almost the end of the show

6:51:27 > 6:51:30but we've got a poptastic treat for you.

6:51:30 > 6:51:31Yeah, he stormed into the charts

6:51:31 > 6:51:33with a top five debut single, Do It All Over Again.

6:51:33 > 6:51:36He's here to perform his brand-new single. Before we speak to him...

6:51:36 > 6:51:39Or before he sings, let's speak to him, the right way round!

6:51:39 > 6:51:41Let's get a round of applause for Elyar Fox.

6:51:41 > 6:51:42CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

6:51:42 > 6:51:44Welcome.

6:51:44 > 6:51:48- Down low. How you doing?- Here we go. - Yowzers!- (Sorry.)

6:51:48 > 6:51:50- Good to see you.- You, too.

6:51:50 > 6:51:52- What have you been up to? It's been a while.- Everything.

6:51:52 > 6:51:54I've been on tour with The Wanted, which was amazing.

6:51:54 > 6:51:57And I've just been working on my new single, A Billion Girls,

6:51:57 > 6:51:59- and getting the album ready for the summer.- Fantastic.

6:51:59 > 6:52:02We've got lots of questions in for you. It's just gone mad.

6:52:02 > 6:52:04Let's go for it.

6:52:04 > 6:52:06Rubynuttyhobbit, hands down my favourite name ever,

6:52:06 > 6:52:09"If you could be a presenter of any show, what would it be?"

6:52:09 > 6:52:13- Apart from Blue Peter.- Oh, really? I was going to say Blue Peter.

6:52:13 > 6:52:16- It does seem like a lot of fun. - It's amazing fun.

6:52:16 > 6:52:19- And they give us chocolate. - Blue Peter badges everywhere.

6:52:19 > 6:52:22Always wear it, on the left-hand side for the boys.

6:52:22 > 6:52:24Pearlairfig says, "Hey, Elyar, I'd like to ask you

6:52:24 > 6:52:27"how you became a singer and did anyone inspire you?"

6:52:27 > 6:52:29Well, really, I've always been into music,

6:52:29 > 6:52:31since I was about six when I bought my first album.

6:52:31 > 6:52:33And I've always loved pop music.

6:52:33 > 6:52:36So I kind of knew it was one thing which I had to be doing.

6:52:36 > 6:52:39And, also, Bruno Mars, big inspiration for me these days.

6:52:39 > 6:52:40Really like him.

6:52:40 > 6:52:43You bought your first album when you six.

6:52:43 > 6:52:45I was still making bubbles in the bath at that point.

6:52:45 > 6:52:47I was making bubbles in the bath, and listening to music.

6:52:47 > 6:52:50Aquabubblycondor says, "Do you have any secret talents?"

6:52:50 > 6:52:52Any secret talents?

6:52:52 > 6:52:54I've got a few. One of them...

6:52:54 > 6:52:55MAKES BUBBLE NOISES

6:52:55 > 6:52:58- Talking about bubbles in the bath! - Oh, yeah!- Brilliant.

6:52:58 > 6:53:01Maroonbanana says, "What advice would you give to someone

6:53:01 > 6:53:04"who wanted to join the music world?"

6:53:04 > 6:53:08I think it's just persistence. And you need to be dedicated.

6:53:08 > 6:53:11I think as long as you don't give up, people are always going to try

6:53:11 > 6:53:14and doubt you and put you down, but it should only make you stronger.

6:53:14 > 6:53:16- I like that.- One last question from Pearlgroovydevil who says,

6:53:16 > 6:53:17"Hi, Elyar.

6:53:17 > 6:53:20"My question is, what's your favourite pizza topping?"

6:53:20 > 6:53:22It's a classic. "And, PS, I Love you Elyar Fox."

6:53:22 > 6:53:27- I love you too, Barney.- That wasn't me.- My favourite pizza... Oh.

6:53:27 > 6:53:30My favourite pizza topping, this is going to sound really boring

6:53:30 > 6:53:33because I go through moods of what I like. It's a bit like music.

6:53:33 > 6:53:37Sometimes you want rock, sometimes R&B, you kind of go through phases.

6:53:37 > 6:53:41One thing which always is consistent with my pizza love is Margarita.

6:53:41 > 6:53:45It's Margarita. In fact, I'm ordering one right after the show.

6:53:45 > 6:53:47You've got to sing a song first, get yourself ready.

6:53:47 > 6:53:50While he does, here's what's happening on next week's show.

6:53:50 > 6:53:53Make sure you join us cos we're going to be kicking off our

6:53:53 > 6:53:56Blue Peter Green Season so we're live from the Blue Peter garden.

6:53:56 > 6:53:58We're going to be getting dirty hands in the garden as well

6:53:58 > 6:54:01with the Skinny Jeans Gardeners. And Diarmuid Gavin's going to show you

6:54:01 > 6:54:03how to build something really cool

6:54:03 > 6:54:05using flowers and the Blue Peter badge as inspiration.

6:54:05 > 6:54:09And to celebrate Shakespeare's 450th birthday, we'll be going to

6:54:09 > 6:54:13the Globe to find out about special effects back in Shakespeare's time.

6:54:13 > 6:54:15If you got in touch last week to send your Easter messages,

6:54:15 > 6:54:17watch the bottom of the screen right now.

6:54:17 > 6:54:20First, here's Elyar Fox performing his brand-new A Billion Girls.

6:54:20 > 6:54:23CHEERING

6:54:37 > 6:54:40# I heard Rihanna wants your body

6:54:41 > 6:54:44# With curves like the streets of Monaco

6:54:44 > 6:54:47# And everybody says you're trouble

6:54:47 > 6:54:49# But I don't wanna know, no

6:54:49 > 6:54:51# I don't wanna know

6:54:51 > 6:54:53# Tried, tried, tried but they don't measure up

6:54:53 > 6:54:55# While all this time, time, time

6:54:55 > 6:54:57# You're spilling over the cup

6:54:57 > 6:54:59# And maybe I

6:54:59 > 6:55:01# And maybe I

6:55:01 > 6:55:02# Should listen to my head

6:55:02 > 6:55:04# But my heart says

6:55:05 > 6:55:08# I could go from London to LA

6:55:08 > 6:55:12# I could look a million times a day

6:55:12 > 6:55:15# The way I feel is never gonna change

6:55:15 > 6:55:18# It's never gonna change

6:55:19 > 6:55:21# They tell me that I'm young

6:55:21 > 6:55:22# And I should wait

6:55:22 > 6:55:26# But then you'd be the one who got away

6:55:26 > 6:55:29# The way I feel is never gonna change

6:55:29 > 6:55:32# And all that I can say

6:55:32 > 6:55:34# There's a billion girls in the world

6:55:34 > 6:55:37# But there's only one you

6:55:37 > 6:55:39# You

6:55:39 > 6:55:41# A billion girls in the world

6:55:41 > 6:55:44# But there's only one you

6:55:44 > 6:55:45# You

6:55:45 > 6:55:48# I must have died and gone to heaven

6:55:49 > 6:55:52# Or has an angel fallen from the sky?

6:55:53 > 6:55:56# And everybody says I'm crazy Well, maybe

6:55:56 > 6:55:58# But you are my kryptonite

6:55:58 > 6:56:02# Because I've tried, tried, tried but they don't measure up

6:56:02 > 6:56:04# While all this time, time, time

6:56:04 > 6:56:06# You're spilling over the cup

6:56:06 > 6:56:07# And maybe I

6:56:07 > 6:56:09# And maybe I

6:56:10 > 6:56:11# Should listen to my head

6:56:11 > 6:56:13# But my heart says

6:56:14 > 6:56:17# I could go from London to LA

6:56:17 > 6:56:20# I could look a million times a day

6:56:20 > 6:56:24# The way I feel is never gonna change

6:56:24 > 6:56:26# And all that I can say

6:56:26 > 6:56:29# There's a billion girls in the world

6:56:29 > 6:56:32# But there's only one you

6:56:32 > 6:56:33# You

6:56:33 > 6:56:36# There's a billion girls in the world

6:56:36 > 6:56:39# But there's only one you

6:56:39 > 6:56:40# You

6:56:40 > 6:56:43# There's just something about you

6:56:43 > 6:56:46# That makes me feel like I want to

6:56:46 > 6:56:49# So, baby, hear when I tell you
