7:48:28 > 7:48:33CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

7:48:33 > 7:48:36Hi! Welcome to the show. Take a seat.

7:48:36 > 7:48:40So you are the first ever British taekwondo Olympic gold medallist.

7:48:40 > 7:48:43- How do you feel?- It feels amazing.

7:48:43 > 7:48:46Overwhelming! All the support I've had, just great.

7:48:46 > 7:48:49It's incredible to see what you do and it's incredible

7:48:49 > 7:48:52to be here with a gold medal. Can we see it?

7:48:52 > 7:48:55Something magic happens when you win a gold medal,

7:48:55 > 7:48:57it attaches itself to your cheek. As you lift it,

7:48:57 > 7:48:59you can't help going like that!

7:48:59 > 7:49:03It's amazing. It's incredible to see the moment you won it.

7:49:03 > 7:49:06We have a clip here. Take a look at this.

7:49:06 > 7:49:08Got to be careful.

7:49:08 > 7:49:11Three points will concede the gold medal.

7:49:11 > 7:49:14Because she's just two points ahead.

7:49:14 > 7:49:18Keep an eye on the fighters and the clock.

7:49:18 > 7:49:21CROWD: Three, two, one!

7:49:25 > 7:49:30And the teenage kicking superstar from Wales is the Olympic champion!

7:49:32 > 7:49:35CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

7:49:35 > 7:49:38It's the perfect movie finish. Like the end of a movie,

7:49:38 > 7:49:41two minutes to go, will she win it? The music builds, she wins it.

7:49:41 > 7:49:44And can you explain what it was like?

7:49:44 > 7:49:46I couldn't believe I won. She won me

7:49:46 > 7:49:49in the World Championships last year.

7:49:49 > 7:49:52I remember thinking, I'm not letting her beat me again

7:49:52 > 7:49:54in front of all these people, so I went at her.

7:49:54 > 7:49:57You're no stranger to winning medals,

7:49:57 > 7:50:01if we go back to 2010 when you met Helen, at the youth Olympics

7:50:01 > 7:50:04the thought of having a gold medal was just a dream.

7:50:04 > 7:50:05Have a look at this.

7:50:06 > 7:50:12I know I have the potential, but in taekwondo anything can happen.

7:50:12 > 7:50:16You don't know what the judges or your opponent will be like.

7:50:16 > 7:50:19So as long as I perform my very best, I'll be happy.

7:50:19 > 7:50:23Here we are a few years later and you are an Olympic gold medallist.

7:50:23 > 7:50:26- I'll keep saying it, cos it's nice to hear!- Yeah!

7:50:26 > 7:50:29Can you take us back to how you got started?

7:50:29 > 7:50:33My grandad took me to a local club in Flint to keep me off the streets

7:50:33 > 7:50:36and be able to defend meself and get me going in the right direction.

7:50:36 > 7:50:39- Your grandad's a proud man!- Yeah. - You can tell.

7:50:39 > 7:50:42If anyone is watching who would like to be in taekwondo,

7:50:42 > 7:50:45or be the next Jade Jones, what would you say?

7:50:45 > 7:50:47Get involved in a club. It teaches you respect

7:50:47 > 7:50:49and it's an amazing sport.

7:50:51 > 7:50:53I'm nervous about this bit,

7:50:53 > 7:50:57but you score points in taekwondo by delivering certain moves.

7:50:57 > 7:50:59If you were to score three points you would need to...?

7:50:59 > 7:51:03- Kick you in the head.- Kick me in the head. Well, I'm all for it.

7:51:03 > 7:51:09It's a bit of telly! Demonstrate how you would score three points on me.

7:51:09 > 7:51:13- It's straight up to your face. - OK. Just like that.

7:51:13 > 7:51:16Let's do one more for those that missed it.

7:51:17 > 7:51:21- I actually heard the whoosh. You thought you hit me!- Close!

7:51:21 > 7:51:24Jade Jones and the expert kick for the win and the gold medal!

7:51:24 > 7:51:27Now, one thing I have loved more than anything else

7:51:27 > 7:51:31is the celebrations of the athletes. What makes a good celebration?

7:51:31 > 7:51:37When you can see it in their face how much they wanted it.

7:51:37 > 7:51:40It's like a release and relief that you've finally made it.

7:51:40 > 7:51:45Now we have our own Olympic award ceremony for the best celebrations.

7:51:45 > 7:51:49The first one, the bronze goes to Jessica Ennis.

7:51:49 > 7:51:51Take a look at how she celebrates.

7:51:51 > 7:51:54It's a mixture of sheer exhaustion.

7:51:54 > 7:51:59The lying on the floor celebration. For that you get a bronze.

7:51:59 > 7:52:01Silver goes to one man.

7:52:01 > 7:52:04Purely because his celebration is so recognised.

7:52:04 > 7:52:08It's the number one. It's Bolt. 100 metres, 200 metres

7:52:08 > 7:52:12and of course, the 100 metres relay. That is how he celebrates.

7:52:12 > 7:52:16It's so easy to do, we can even do it.

7:52:16 > 7:52:19Go on people, get involved. Why not?

7:52:19 > 7:52:23It's an amazing celebration. But I think without a doubt, my favourite,

7:52:23 > 7:52:26- because of his smiley face, I think you know who?- Mo Farah.

7:52:26 > 7:52:31Look at how he celebrates when he wins the race. Two races he won.

7:52:31 > 7:52:355,000 and 10,000 metres. There you go. Anyone can do it.

7:52:35 > 7:52:37Get your grandma up off the chair and get it going!

7:52:37 > 7:52:40I think it's fair to say that everyone is a worthy winner.

7:52:40 > 7:52:42You certainly are.

7:52:42 > 7:52:45We have an award here at Blue Peter which also has gold in it.

7:52:45 > 7:52:50The gold Blue Peter badge, we think because you are the first ever

7:52:50 > 7:52:52British Olympic gold medallist, you are well and truly

7:52:52 > 7:52:56worthy of the gold Blue Peter badge.

7:52:56 > 7:53:02- APPLAUSE - Congratulations. Jade Jones, everybody. Watch out.

7:53:02 > 7:53:07If you want to ask Jade any questions, you can e-mail us.

7:53:07 > 7:53:10Jade is here for a bit and hopefully, we'll ask as many

7:53:10 > 7:53:12as we can towards the end of the show.

7:53:12 > 7:53:17Now to another award winner, an author. She's my favourite.

7:53:17 > 7:53:20I think she's amazing. She's called Jacqueline Wilson.

7:53:20 > 7:53:23You may think she's turned the lights out. She hasn't!

7:53:23 > 7:53:25But she's set the atmosphere for a demonstration

7:53:25 > 7:53:27of how many books she has written.

7:53:27 > 7:53:31Here's some of them. Here's a few more. This could take a while.

7:53:31 > 7:53:33Just watch this.

7:53:33 > 7:53:36Jacqueline Wilson always wanted to be a writer

7:53:36 > 7:53:38and wrote her first novel when she was nine.

7:53:38 > 7:53:43Since then, she has had 93 books published in over 30 countries.

7:53:43 > 7:53:46In the UK alone, she has sold over 30 million books,

7:53:46 > 7:53:51which means one of her books is sold roughly every 30 seconds.

7:53:51 > 7:53:54One of her best-known creations is Tracy Beaker

7:53:54 > 7:54:00who first appeared in print in 1991 and became a hit TV show in 2002.

7:54:00 > 7:54:04Have a good laugh, did you, in your fancy house with your fancy mum?!

7:54:04 > 7:54:08Tracy Beaker has been on our screens for over ten years.

7:54:08 > 7:54:10Jacqueline is one of the nation's favourite authors

7:54:10 > 7:54:12and in 2008, the Queen made her a Dame.

7:54:15 > 7:54:18She can light the biggest of rooms with the simplest of smiles,

7:54:18 > 7:54:22- it's Jacqueline Wilson. - CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

7:54:22 > 7:54:26- It's so nice to have you here. - It's lovely to be here. Thank you.

7:54:26 > 7:54:29I wish there was a certain part of my house where I could visit it

7:54:29 > 7:54:32and see you sat there and read me a story!

7:54:32 > 7:54:37Let's talk about your new book, it's called Four Children And It.

7:54:37 > 7:54:39People know how you write stories,

7:54:39 > 7:54:43this is taking things in a different direction?

7:54:43 > 7:54:47It's a different sort of book. Because it's a magic book.

7:54:47 > 7:54:52But it has four children who are my kind of children.

7:54:52 > 7:54:54They experience what life can be like if you discover an ancient

7:54:54 > 7:55:00and grumpy sand fairy called the Psammead who grants wishes.

7:55:00 > 7:55:03Can you come to my house and read me a story? I love how you tell it!

7:55:03 > 7:55:06There's a story, written a long time ago, called Five Children And It.

7:55:06 > 7:55:10- Is there a correlation?- Five Children And It by Edith Nesbit

7:55:10 > 7:55:14was one of my favourite stories when I was young.

7:55:14 > 7:55:17And so this is my tribute novel.

7:55:17 > 7:55:22I have borrowed E Nesbit's Psammead and introduced him

7:55:22 > 7:55:25to my children and they have fun with him.

7:55:25 > 7:55:29- It has that Jacqueline Wilson twist? - Hopefully, yes.

7:55:29 > 7:55:31The book is about wishes, isn't it?

7:55:32 > 7:55:36The children all get to have several wishes.

7:55:36 > 7:55:40And yet nearly always, even for the rich and famous wish,

7:55:40 > 7:55:42things go a bit wrong.

7:55:42 > 7:55:47I love how you tease things. If you had a wish, what would it be?

7:55:47 > 7:55:49I know exactly what I'd wish for.

7:55:49 > 7:55:53I'd wish for the ability to write a book in a single day

7:55:53 > 7:55:57and therefore I'd spend two days a year writing hard

7:55:57 > 7:56:00and then have 363 days just to have fun.

7:56:00 > 7:56:04I know our audience would love to give you the chance to

7:56:04 > 7:56:07answer their questions.

7:56:07 > 7:56:10I can grant your wishes. All you've got to do is e-mail us.

7:56:10 > 7:56:12You can ask Jacqueline anything you like!

7:56:12 > 7:56:15We will try and ask as many as we can towards the end of the show.

7:56:15 > 7:56:17For now, thank you.

7:56:17 > 7:56:19This summer sees the release of a new animated movie

7:56:19 > 7:56:22from the makers of Toy Story.

7:56:22 > 7:56:24It's call Brave and is set in the Highlands of Scotland

7:56:24 > 7:56:28and is the story of Merida who is a red-headed, fiery princess,

7:56:28 > 7:56:29with a hidden skill of archery.

7:56:29 > 7:56:32We sent Jade Thompson, the winner of Britain's Next Top Model,

7:56:32 > 7:56:36to find out about the movie and meet a real-life Merida! Take a look!

7:56:48 > 7:56:50So, just how hard is archery?

7:56:50 > 7:56:55It takes precision, co-ordination and a lot of practice.

7:56:55 > 7:56:58It's also the subject of a new animated movie, Brave.

7:57:01 > 7:57:03I am Merida.

7:57:03 > 7:57:06Brave is about a young princess who defies her parents to

7:57:06 > 7:57:09become an archer. But she ignores an age-old custom

7:57:09 > 7:57:10and creates chaos.

7:57:10 > 7:57:14Merida is a young, confident, inspirational girl.

7:57:14 > 7:57:16I've found a real-life version

7:57:16 > 7:57:19who can teach me a thing or two about archery.

7:57:19 > 7:57:21Rebecca Martin is one of the brightest prospects

7:57:21 > 7:57:24in British archery. She has been the under-16 national

7:57:24 > 7:57:28outdoor champion for the last three years.

7:57:28 > 7:57:31And she's going to give me a crash course in archery.

7:57:31 > 7:57:35The first step is stance. You put one foot either side of the line

7:57:35 > 7:57:38and keep equal weight on each foot.

7:57:38 > 7:57:43The second step is how you hold the bow. Three fingers on the string.

7:57:43 > 7:57:46You see the bit in the middle, put one above it and two below.

7:57:46 > 7:57:51Then draw in the bow. Bring up the front.

7:57:51 > 7:57:55And then pull it back to your face. And release.

7:57:57 > 7:57:59I hit the board, but not the target.

7:57:59 > 7:58:01You did, you scored a one.

7:58:01 > 7:58:05In the middle it's a ten and then nine in the gold, and an eight

7:58:05 > 7:58:07and a seven in the red bit.

7:58:09 > 7:58:14- That's a score of five. - You're getting better.- Yeah!

7:58:14 > 7:58:19Tell me about your equipment. Yours is different to mine.

7:58:19 > 7:58:24Well, this is a recurve bow you would use for the archery in the Olympics.

7:58:24 > 7:58:27The bow you have it's the same as mine,

7:58:27 > 7:58:29but you don't have all the accessories on it.

7:58:29 > 7:58:34That's probably cheaper. My arrows are thinner than yours.

7:58:34 > 7:58:36They're made out of carbon and aluminium

7:58:36 > 7:58:39and yours are just made from aluminium.

7:58:39 > 7:58:41They will travel a lot faster than yours.

7:58:41 > 7:58:45Not just here for technical support, Becky is going to practise with me.

7:58:54 > 7:58:55I got a bull's-eye.

7:58:59 > 7:59:02- How do you think I'm doing?- You're doing well for a beginner.

7:59:02 > 7:59:06- I think you're ready for the challenge.- I'm ready, let's do it.

7:59:07 > 7:59:11In the movie, Merida watches as three archers shoot for

7:59:11 > 7:59:15her hand in marriage, but she interrupts by taking part herself,

7:59:15 > 7:59:18showing the boys she can choose her own destiny.

7:59:34 > 7:59:35So just like in Brave

7:59:35 > 7:59:38we set up three targets to see if I can hit the gold.

7:59:38 > 7:59:40What do you think?

7:59:40 > 7:59:42Considering you did so well at ten metres,

7:59:42 > 7:59:45we're going to move you back to 20.

7:59:45 > 7:59:49It's a tough ask, but I think I'm ready.

7:59:49 > 7:59:51Not even a one.

7:59:51 > 7:59:57- What has my coach got to say? - Just a bit low. Point a bit higher.

7:59:57 > 8:00:01- I hope I get some points on target. - A bit higher.

8:00:01 > 8:00:08I'm going to shoot to the sky next time. I'm not going high enough.

8:00:08 > 8:00:10I want to go for gold with the last one.

8:00:10 > 8:00:13The third and final target.

8:00:13 > 8:00:15You can do it.

8:00:17 > 8:00:20- What was that like? - A bit higher maybe.

8:00:22 > 8:00:24Didn't even hit the board.

8:00:24 > 8:00:29- I tried.- It's your first day.

8:00:29 > 8:00:30- I think I'm a ten-metre girl. - I think you might be right.

8:00:32 > 8:00:39Now it's Becky's time to show me how it's done from a whopping 70 metres.

8:00:39 > 8:00:42- How are you feeling? - Pretty confident.

8:00:42 > 8:00:46I'll be keeping an eye on you. Good luck.

8:00:55 > 8:00:58Wow, the first two have hit gold. Can she make it three out of three?

8:01:02 > 8:01:05Amazing. Let's take a closer look.

8:01:05 > 8:01:06You are way too good at this.

8:01:06 > 8:01:10That is smack bang in the middle. How amazing is that?

8:01:10 > 8:01:13'Rebecca is definitely the real-life Merida.

8:01:13 > 8:01:17'But I'm going to sit back now and take aim with some popcorn.'

8:01:17 > 8:01:21Isn't it incredible to think Rebecca can hit a target as far away

8:01:21 > 8:01:23as five times the length of this studio?

8:01:23 > 8:01:26Hopefully we'll see her competing in 2016. Look out!

8:01:26 > 8:01:28Phew, that was a close one.

8:01:28 > 8:01:31I'm only kidding, it's one of them joke ones you get from joke shops.

8:01:31 > 8:01:32When Brave was announced

8:01:32 > 8:01:34and when Louisa heard it was going to be out in the cinemas,

8:01:34 > 8:01:37she got in touch and this is why. Take a look at her picture.

8:01:37 > 8:01:39She is also a red-headed fiery princess

8:01:39 > 8:01:41and she's also an archery champion.

8:01:41 > 8:01:43I may have been making up the princess bit,

8:01:43 > 8:01:45but look at the likeness between her and Merida.

8:01:45 > 8:01:49What a brilliant thing to send in. Louisa, thank you so much.

8:01:49 > 8:01:52Now, the Muslim celebration of Eid happens this weekend.

8:01:52 > 8:01:55It marks the end of Ramadan which is a traditional time of fasting.

8:01:55 > 8:01:58So to celebrate the fact they can now eat as much food as they want,

8:01:58 > 8:02:00we get to serve up some lovely, delicious treats

8:02:00 > 8:02:01that look like this.

8:02:01 > 8:02:05And I'm delighted to say Nel from Newsround is helping us make them.

8:02:05 > 8:02:08- Hi, Nel.- Hello, Barney. How are you? - I'm very well. What are we doing?

8:02:08 > 8:02:10- It smells incredible.- It does.

8:02:10 > 8:02:13We're going to be making a traditional Asian sweet called barfi.

8:02:13 > 8:02:17We're going to be making chocolate-flavoured barfi today.

8:02:17 > 8:02:18It's really easy to make.

8:02:18 > 8:02:20There are three main ingredients for what we're going to do.

8:02:20 > 8:02:23We've got some butter here, some chocolate -

8:02:23 > 8:02:24just any ordinary one you can get in a shop -

8:02:24 > 8:02:27- and this is some condensed milk. - Which is what you make toffee from.

8:02:27 > 8:02:29Exactly. It gives it that really smooth texture.

8:02:29 > 8:02:33I've got all of those ingredients in this pot already

8:02:33 > 8:02:35and they're nice and melted.

8:02:35 > 8:02:38The only other thing I have to add is that, and that is just icing sugar.

8:02:38 > 8:02:41- Can I be the beautiful assistant? - Oh, please.

8:02:41 > 8:02:44- Well, it's more assistant, really. - If you just pour that in. Lovely.

8:02:44 > 8:02:47We're going to need to stir this for quite some time

8:02:47 > 8:02:51to make sure it's all melted in and all mixing nicely.

8:02:51 > 8:02:53While I'm doing this, Barney, could you possibly...?

8:02:53 > 8:02:56There's a tray right here, I just need you to put some butter on it

8:02:56 > 8:02:58so it doesn't stick when we're finally ready.

8:02:58 > 8:03:01- I better wash my hands for this bit. Hang on.- Yes, please.

8:03:01 > 8:03:04What I love about this part of the make here is... We have a friend

8:03:04 > 8:03:07of the show who works so hard behind the scenes called Emma.

8:03:07 > 8:03:09She prepares everything for us.

8:03:09 > 8:03:11Look, she's even put bits of butter on some paper for me

8:03:11 > 8:03:14- so I don't get it on my fingers. - She's very good.

8:03:14 > 8:03:17You'd have thought, after all this time, she knew me better than that.

8:03:17 > 8:03:19Barney! That's not how I would do it but...

8:03:19 > 8:03:22I've washed me hands, it's absolutely fine.

8:03:22 > 8:03:24- Good enough.- What's the point in cooking if you don't get messy?

8:03:24 > 8:03:28- Come on, people, live the dream. - Absolutely. Are you ready?

8:03:28 > 8:03:29Oh, yeah, born ready.

8:03:29 > 8:03:33- I would usually do this for a little while...- Nice to meet you.- ..longer,

8:03:33 > 8:03:35- but for now I think this is all right.- Yeah.

8:03:35 > 8:03:37As soon as you wash your hands,

8:03:37 > 8:03:39we're going to start pouring it into the tray

8:03:39 > 8:03:40- so it can be ready.- Yes, Mum.

8:03:40 > 8:03:44- Right, are you ready?- Yeah.- Grab that spatula and give me a hand.- OK.

8:03:44 > 8:03:48- There we go. Look at that.- I wish you could smell this, it smells amazing.

8:03:48 > 8:03:49Oh, it's lovely. You see those little lumps

8:03:49 > 8:03:51- I've accidentally left in there? - On purpose.

8:03:51 > 8:03:54On purpose. They all need to be aired out

8:03:54 > 8:03:57and that's why you need to take a little bit more time with it.

8:03:57 > 8:03:59Turn this off.

8:03:59 > 8:04:02- While you're doing that, I'm going to get our decorations ready.- Good idea.

8:04:02 > 8:04:07You can use almost anything. You can use fresh fruit, berries,

8:04:07 > 8:04:11but what we're going to use today is this. This is some pistachio,

8:04:11 > 8:04:15some nuts, and I've got here some coconut flakes.

8:04:15 > 8:04:17It's like you've done this since you were small.

8:04:17 > 8:04:20It's like you've been doing this since you were a child.

8:04:20 > 8:04:22Wouldn't it be great if we had a photograph of you

8:04:22 > 8:04:23when you were little doing this?

8:04:23 > 8:04:28- Oh, no. Oh, no!- Isn't that great? - Of course, I'm the one who's eating.

8:04:28 > 8:04:31The other picture we have is you getting involved with your dad.

8:04:31 > 8:04:34He's making you make food. It was very dark at the time.

8:04:34 > 8:04:37It's a great photo. We'll get that to you at some later date.

8:04:37 > 8:04:42- OK, are you ready to help me out? - Yeah.- Have fun with it. Go crazy.

8:04:42 > 8:04:45As much as you want. There we go, look at that. Not literally, Barney.

8:04:45 > 8:04:48- This is my favourite bit.- Wow, OK.

8:04:48 > 8:04:51- We like coconut, that's nice. - We do like coconut.

8:04:51 > 8:04:54- Now, that's done. I know you really want to eat it...- Yes.

8:04:54 > 8:04:58But you can't. I've got to put it in the fridge, preferably overnight,

8:04:58 > 8:05:02but if you can't do that, for at least an hour and when it's done...

8:05:02 > 8:05:04- Here's one I made.- Sorry.

8:05:04 > 8:05:07SHE SIGHS Here's one I made earlier.

8:05:07 > 8:05:09- There's the line, everybody. Fantastic.- Wonderful.

8:05:09 > 8:05:13We need to cut this up into nice little shapes like these,

8:05:13 > 8:05:16- these ones that I made earlier than earlier.- That's delicious.

8:05:16 > 8:05:18Once you've cut them up, they're basically ready.

8:05:18 > 8:05:20And that's how you make barfi.

8:05:20 > 8:05:22Nel, thank you so much for showing us how to make barfi.

8:05:22 > 8:05:24If you would like to go to the website

8:05:24 > 8:05:27- and find out how to do this, you can do.- That's the one.

8:05:27 > 8:05:28I'm very excited, I've had too much sugar.

8:05:28 > 8:05:31I'm going to take these over to Jacqueline Wilson.

8:05:31 > 8:05:34Don't forget you can make lots of different versions of these.

8:05:34 > 8:05:37- You can do orange ones, with carrot in them.- These ones have pistachio.

8:05:37 > 8:05:38That's why you've got that green colour.

8:05:38 > 8:05:40Does pistachio turn it green when you put it in?

8:05:40 > 8:05:43- I think there's some colouring in there as well.- OK.

8:05:43 > 8:05:46- But there's all the top tips you need on there.- Absolutely.

8:05:46 > 8:05:49While you're on there... You've done a nice little video

8:05:49 > 8:05:51on how to make a lovely Indian drink called lassi.

8:05:51 > 8:05:52We've made it with mango. Gorgeous.

8:05:52 > 8:05:55- It's refreshing and goes well with barfi.- You can make it with anything.

8:05:55 > 8:05:58- It doesn't have to just be mango. - No, any fruit.

8:05:58 > 8:06:00Get yourselves onto the website and have some fun.

8:06:00 > 8:06:02I want to get over here - you've been e-mailing

8:06:02 > 8:06:05- so many questions for Jacqueline. There's some barfi.- Wow. Thank you.

8:06:05 > 8:06:08I want to try and get as many as these in as I can

8:06:08 > 8:06:10because obviously when you come on the show

8:06:10 > 8:06:13people want to ask you questions. Let's start with Lydia,

8:06:13 > 8:06:15who says, "How long does it take, on average,

8:06:15 > 8:06:17"to write your average-length book?"

8:06:17 > 8:06:20Sadly it takes about six months, so it's a bit of a slog.

8:06:20 > 8:06:22But it's a lovely feeling when you get to the end

8:06:22 > 8:06:26- and write, "The end," at the bottom. - Is that why people write "the end"?

8:06:26 > 8:06:29- It's like, "I finally made it."- It's why I do! Yes, exactly.- Fantastic.

8:06:29 > 8:06:31Sophie says - obviously because you have

8:06:31 > 8:06:33such a great way with character names -

8:06:33 > 8:06:37"If you were to change your name to anything, what would it be?"

8:06:37 > 8:06:41Well, I like Charlotte Bronte

8:06:41 > 8:06:44and I like Jane Austen

8:06:44 > 8:06:48so I think I would change my name to Charlotte Austen. How about that?

8:06:48 > 8:06:51Very nice. Claire says, "Did you ever think

8:06:51 > 8:06:54"you would have so many fans when you released your first book?"

8:06:54 > 8:06:56Absolutely not.

8:06:56 > 8:07:00I thought I'd maybe have just very, very few readers

8:07:00 > 8:07:03and I'm thrilled to bits that so many children do like my books.

8:07:03 > 8:07:05It's because you're a legend. Brooklyn says,

8:07:05 > 8:07:07"You've inspired me to be a writer.

8:07:07 > 8:07:11"Could you give me some tips on how to be as good as you?"

8:07:11 > 8:07:15I would suggest reading lots, not to copy other people's ideas,

8:07:15 > 8:07:18but just to enrich your imagination and because reading is fun too.

8:07:18 > 8:07:23Also to keep a diary because it gets you into a regular writing habit.

8:07:23 > 8:07:26I think fun is the word to use. It really is fun to get involved.

8:07:26 > 8:07:29There's a project called Story Lab. I'm sure you've heard of it.

8:07:29 > 8:07:32This is encouraging you, over the summer, to read at least six books.

8:07:32 > 8:07:34Every week we've had a different celebrity to tell you

8:07:34 > 8:07:37about their favourite book and why you should read it.

8:07:37 > 8:07:40Here's Doc Brown who is now going to tell you about his favourite book.

8:07:40 > 8:07:42It's got quite an interesting subject.

8:07:42 > 8:07:45- Speaking of which, would you like some barfi?- Yes, I would.

8:07:45 > 8:07:46- Thank you.- Here he is.

8:07:54 > 8:07:56This is one of the funniest books I've ever read.

8:07:56 > 8:07:59It's called The Giggler Treatment. It's all about the gigglers.

8:07:59 > 8:08:02They are these little people who look after children.

8:08:02 > 8:08:03They're hardly ever seen

8:08:03 > 8:08:05but if a grown-up ever does something mean to a kid -

8:08:05 > 8:08:08you know, like send them to bed without dinner or something -

8:08:08 > 8:08:11the gigglers will punish that grown-up. You want to know how?

8:08:13 > 8:08:15Yup, with dog poo.

8:08:15 > 8:08:20You see, when an adult steps in a big squelchy one, it's no accident. No.

8:08:20 > 8:08:23They're getting the giggler treatment.

8:08:23 > 8:08:29And in this story, Mr Mack is about to become the gigglers' next victim.

8:08:32 > 8:08:36What are you doing? What are you doing?

8:08:36 > 8:08:40Leave me alone. Go on. Shoo.

8:08:45 > 8:08:49Ohh. Of course, it's Rover here who provides the poo.

8:08:51 > 8:08:54But it's the gigglers who put it in the perfect position

8:08:54 > 8:08:57to cause a big stink for someone like Mr Mack,

8:08:57 > 8:09:00a nice dad on his way home from work.

8:09:09 > 8:09:13I'm back at the poo. Mr Mack is only seconds away.

8:09:13 > 8:09:14Wait!

8:09:22 > 8:09:25I forgot to tell you, the gigglers are nearby...

8:09:25 > 8:09:27GIGGLING

8:09:27 > 8:09:30..looking out, peeking, very excited.

8:09:30 > 8:09:32Listen.

8:09:32 > 8:09:37"They waited for the wallop - Mr Mack hitting the poo.

8:09:37 > 8:09:42"They waited for the squelch - Mr Mack stepping down on the poo.

8:09:42 > 8:09:46"They waited for the gasp - Mr Mack seeing the poo for the first time.

8:09:46 > 8:09:49"They waited for the groan -

8:09:49 > 8:09:53"Mr Mack seeing that most of the poo was now on his shoe.

8:09:53 > 8:09:57"His shoe was now very, very close to the you-know-what.

8:09:57 > 8:10:00"'How close?' said the smallest giggler.

8:10:00 > 8:10:04"'14 and three-quarter inches,' said the biggest giggler.

8:10:04 > 8:10:07"'That's very close,' said the middle-sized one.

8:10:07 > 8:10:10"And she shoved her fist into her mouth to trap the giggles.

8:10:10 > 8:10:12"And they waited."

8:10:12 > 8:10:13And I can't wait either.

8:10:15 > 8:10:17I said Mr Mack was a nice dad, didn't I?

8:10:17 > 8:10:19So why have the gigglers plonked

8:10:19 > 8:10:21a big squelchy wet one on the path for him?

8:10:21 > 8:10:23You'll have to get reading.

8:10:23 > 8:10:26HE CHUCKLES Ugh.

8:10:26 > 8:10:29GIGGLING I think I can hear giggles.

8:10:29 > 8:10:33It's a good thing I'm always nice to kids.

8:10:33 > 8:10:34Apart from that little one

8:10:34 > 8:10:36I was a bit nasty to... SQUELCHING

8:10:36 > 8:10:40Aaah!

8:10:40 > 8:10:42Gigglers!

8:10:42 > 8:10:44Gigglers!

8:10:50 > 8:10:52So if you'd like to find out what happens in the story,

8:10:52 > 8:10:55go and get yourself a copy of The Giggler Treatment.

8:10:55 > 8:10:56If you want to get involved in Story Lab,

8:10:56 > 8:10:58all you've got to do is go to the Blue Peter website

8:10:58 > 8:11:00or down to your local library.

8:11:00 > 8:11:02We asked you to get in touch and say anything you wanted

8:11:02 > 8:11:05to Jacqueline or Jade. They're right here, right now.

8:11:05 > 8:11:07We'll ask away, if that's OK, while we've got time left.

8:11:07 > 8:11:10Jade - this is a great question -

8:11:10 > 8:11:13where did your helmet go after you threw it in the air?

8:11:13 > 8:11:15A lot of people have been asking me that.

8:11:15 > 8:11:18I just threw it up in the air and when I'd finished...

8:11:18 > 8:11:20You always have to finish with your helmet at the end

8:11:20 > 8:11:23so the judge said, "Pick up your helmet," I was like, "Oh."

8:11:23 > 8:11:26- It did come back down again?- Yeah. - It's not a super throw

8:11:26 > 8:11:28as well as a super kick. Let's go for Jacqueline.

8:11:28 > 8:11:29These are great, these, on here.

8:11:29 > 8:11:32Jacqueline, if you could go back in time

8:11:32 > 8:11:34to when you were 11 or 12,

8:11:34 > 8:11:36what advice would you give yourself, if anything? That's from Anna.

8:11:36 > 8:11:39Stop worrying so much. It's all going to be all right.

8:11:39 > 8:11:42Do you think you worried a lot as a small person?

8:11:42 > 8:11:45Oh, I was a dreadful person for worrying. Yes.

8:11:45 > 8:11:49But, yeah, I've had a really lucky, lovely life, so there we go.

8:11:49 > 8:11:54Fantastic. Jade. Great question, one of my favourites. This is from Amy.

8:11:54 > 8:12:00- If you could be any superhero, who would you be and why?- Erm...

8:12:00 > 8:12:03I don't know, really. Someone that could fly, that would be amazing.

8:12:03 > 8:12:06That, and invisibility, I think. That's my favourite one.

8:12:06 > 8:12:07I would cause so much trouble.

8:12:07 > 8:12:10Let's go to the video call. Sophia, are you there?

8:12:10 > 8:12:14- Yup, I'm here.- You look just like our logo. Oh, there you are.

8:12:14 > 8:12:16There's a smiley face for the telly.

8:12:16 > 8:12:18How are you doing? What is your question and who is it for?

8:12:18 > 8:12:24It's for Jacqueline Wilson and this is the question.

8:12:24 > 8:12:27I'm a big fan of yours and I've read loads of your books.

8:12:27 > 8:12:32I think the names of the characters are really well chosen.

8:12:32 > 8:12:34I especially think that Hetty Feather

8:12:34 > 8:12:37is really good for the character. I would like to know

8:12:37 > 8:12:41- how you decide the names in your book?- Right, Sophia,

8:12:41 > 8:12:44well, I'm going to make sure I have a Sophia

8:12:44 > 8:12:47in one of my future books, certainly, cos it's a lovely name.

8:12:47 > 8:12:51I chose the name for Hetty Feather because she's Victorian,

8:12:51 > 8:12:55and Hetty seemed a nice old-fashioned sort of name.

8:12:55 > 8:12:59And when she's born, somebody says, "She's light as a feather,"

8:12:59 > 8:13:01so I thought Hetty Feather had a certain ring to it.

8:13:01 > 8:13:05Fantastic. How does it feel to talk to Jacqueline Wilson live on telly?

8:13:05 > 8:13:08- It's amazing, isn't it? - Yeah, it's really good.- Well done,

8:13:08 > 8:13:11we've loved seeing your smiley face. You should be a presenter.

8:13:11 > 8:13:14That was amazing. We'll see you later. Bye.

8:13:14 > 8:13:16- Bye.- Bye!

8:13:16 > 8:13:17OK, let's go to a traditional phone call

8:13:17 > 8:13:19where you can hear people, not see them.

8:13:19 > 8:13:22- Saima is there. Hi, Saima.- Hi.

8:13:22 > 8:13:25Hello. Who's your question for and what is it?

8:13:25 > 8:13:26- It's for Jacqueline Wilson.- OK.

8:13:28 > 8:13:30Fire away.

8:13:30 > 8:13:35Whilst on holiday, would you rather go hiking in the Himalayas,

8:13:35 > 8:13:37swimming with sharks in Egypt

8:13:37 > 8:13:40or bungee-jumping off the tallest tower in New Zealand?

8:13:40 > 8:13:42- Brilliant.- Gosh.

8:13:42 > 8:13:47I think Jade would be more qualified for this sort of activity than me.

8:13:47 > 8:13:50But if I were just a little bit younger,

8:13:50 > 8:13:54I'd go for bungee-jumping because I think it would be very exciting,

8:13:54 > 8:13:57very cool and I love New Zealand, so there we go.

8:13:57 > 8:13:59Fantastic. Thank you for your question.

8:13:59 > 8:14:03- Thank you for answering. - See you later. Bye.- Bye!

8:14:03 > 8:14:05She was cute. Right, Jade,

8:14:05 > 8:14:08were you confident you were going to win in your last match?

8:14:08 > 8:14:10From Milly and Archie. It came down to the wire.

8:14:10 > 8:14:13I remember there was two minutes to go and I thought,

8:14:13 > 8:14:15"Oh, my God, two minutes and I'm Olympic champion."

8:14:15 > 8:14:17But in taekwondo, anything can happen.

8:14:17 > 8:14:20In five seconds, you can get kicked in the face and then you've lost,

8:14:20 > 8:14:23so, no, I didn't think I was going to win till the end.

8:14:23 > 8:14:26There's another question which I think anyone would like to know.

8:14:26 > 8:14:29How long did you train before the Olympics? That's from Lara.

8:14:29 > 8:14:31It was two years of hard-core training

8:14:31 > 8:14:32in the actual national academy

8:14:32 > 8:14:35but I've been training for ten years, ever since I was eight.

8:14:35 > 8:14:38And here you are as an Olympic gold medallist. I have to keep saying it.

8:14:38 > 8:14:41Jade and Jacqueline, thank you for coming on the show.

8:14:41 > 8:14:43I've got just enough time to tell you

8:14:43 > 8:14:45what's coming up on next week's show. You're going to love it.

8:14:45 > 8:14:47The show is from the Edinburgh Festival.

8:14:47 > 8:14:50We got some wacky street performers to talk to you all about.

8:14:50 > 8:14:53You're going to get your own tour from CBBC's very own Iain Stirling.

8:14:53 > 8:14:56Don't worry, no Iains were hurt in the making of this video.

8:14:56 > 8:14:59We're also going to take it a bit further south of wacky

8:14:59 > 8:15:01and introduce you to the latest craze,

8:15:01 > 8:15:04which is weddings with a difference.

8:15:04 > 8:15:06Yes, you have just seen two rabbits get married.

8:15:06 > 8:15:09It's very emotional. Make sure you join us next week for that.

8:15:09 > 8:15:11You will need some tissues and you'll see why it's funny

8:15:11 > 8:15:13when they bring the nine-carat gold ring out.

8:15:13 > 8:15:15- Jade and Jacqueline, thank you. - BOTH: Thank you.

8:15:15 > 8:15:18- Have a lovely week. We'll see you then. Bye.- Bye.
