:00:10. > :00:19.The Radio 1 Teen Awards rocked the CBBC channel on Sunday and I was

:00:20. > :00:21.backstage to meet the heroes. 2 million people found out how I got

:00:22. > :00:30.on at the opening ceremony for the Rugby League World Cup. And the race

:00:31. > :00:34.is on in the second part of our rally car Championship. It is fast

:00:35. > :00:51.and it is happening today on Blue Peter.

:00:52. > :00:59.Hello, how are you doing? It is jam-packed and there is no time to

:01:00. > :01:05.waste and we are going to tell you how to get involved in Children in

:01:06. > :01:12.Need. It is the Get Spotted campaign and it relies heavily on Palace We

:01:13. > :01:15.want to know all about your talents. Go to the website and let us know

:01:16. > :01:24.what weird and wonderful talents you have. Maybe you are good at jiving

:01:25. > :01:30.awed juggling or talking gibberish. Get in touch and tell us what your

:01:31. > :01:39.talents are. I have got a party piece and I will need your support.

:01:40. > :01:48.You can touch your chin with your toe? That is no good. As well as

:01:49. > :01:56.Barney being a multitalented man, he is also a birthday boy. Go over

:01:57. > :02:03.there and get ready for your talent bit. You can get involved in Get

:02:04. > :02:11.Spotted. You can get involved under a spotlight. Get your teachers to do

:02:12. > :02:18.it at school and charge people to come and see it. We are hoping we

:02:19. > :02:26.can inspire you. First up with a rap that he has written today, it is

:02:27. > :02:30.Radzi. I'm number 37 in the Blue Peter team and what that means is

:02:31. > :02:34.that I'm living my own dream. My whole life I've been doing it MY

:02:35. > :02:38.WAY. I mean my mum's from scotland, my dad from ZimBABWE. A shout out if

:02:39. > :02:41.she thinks I've missed her. Her name's Rufaro and I think she's the

:02:42. > :02:45.worlds best sister. Can't forget Loubie Lou and my best mate Paul

:02:46. > :02:49.Osei Owusu. Now four ways to Get Spotted, what you going to do? One,

:02:50. > :02:52.decorate a spot and it will go as a part of our spectacular spotty show.

:02:53. > :02:56.Two, you can spot some wildlife It's incredible what you can see if

:02:57. > :03:00.you look when the time's right. Three, now this one's fun but it

:03:01. > :03:03.needs some shopping. You make spotty pizzas, that's a pizza with a spotty

:03:04. > :03:06.topping. Four, do a performance in the spotlight. What, how? That means

:03:07. > :03:08.something like I'm doing right now! Now one final time I plead indeed.

:03:09. > :03:21.He was really nervous as well and he Get Spotted for Children in Need!

:03:22. > :03:29.He was really nervous as well and he told me. I would sponsor him. Nice

:03:30. > :03:34.skills. Stay tuned to see how we perform in the spotlight. We know

:03:35. > :03:40.you are very talented, not just at artwork and getting involved, but

:03:41. > :03:48.creating spots as well. Our big wall is packed full with some of your

:03:49. > :03:52.designs. All the spots you send in we are going to turn into digital

:03:53. > :03:57.images and they are going to be part of an incredible show happening

:03:58. > :04:02.outside our studios in Salford. We are going to try our best and

:04:03. > :04:07.decorate the whole studio. If you want to have a chance to have

:04:08. > :04:16.yours included, make sure you get it in. If you want us to show you your

:04:17. > :04:24.spots on this show, get it in by the 30th of November. This caught my

:04:25. > :04:29.eye. Esme and Sophia have made this. I am a big fan of symmetry. I love

:04:30. > :04:38.the design and the flowers. It is brilliant. I like this one. It is

:04:39. > :04:48.from Daphne from Kingston upon Thames. And somebody who has gone

:04:49. > :04:56.above and beyond is Evelyn. She has done an entire book of spots. Loads

:04:57. > :05:03.and loads of different spots. How did you get all those ideas? 10 8 of

:05:04. > :05:11.you have been in touch and a lot of those were e-mails. These are the

:05:12. > :05:18.people that have been in touch. Amy sent in this picture. She was

:05:19. > :05:21.inspired by bonfire night. Annabel has

:05:22. > :05:30.inspired by bonfire night. Annabel worms. These are edible ones. They

:05:31. > :05:39.look real. Thomas has got a lovely version of his wiggly worms. Rhianna

:05:40. > :05:47.is eating has. Thank you to everybody who has got in touch. Also

:05:48. > :05:54.look at how spotty our giant map is. Jersey is down there. Whether at

:05:55. > :05:58.home raising money and getting involved in Children in Need,

:05:59. > :06:06.remember to tell us where you are from so you can Get Spotted on our

:06:07. > :06:14.map. This is the Rugby League World Cup. 14 teams are playing right now.

:06:15. > :06:19.I am no rugby player. But I was involved in the opening ceremony

:06:20. > :06:32.performing on the same pitch. I was quite nervous. The Rugby League

:06:33. > :06:43.World Cup. 28 matches. 21 venues. 14 national teams. And one Barney

:06:44. > :06:49.Harwood. Yes, me. I am going to help out that at the opening ceremony

:06:50. > :06:54.right here at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. This year's ceremony,

:06:55. > :07:00.watched by millions of people, will open the tournament and it is the

:07:01. > :07:04.most ambitious opener so far. This is a stage manager working on the

:07:05. > :07:11.ceremony. He has a lowdown on the job will be doing. We are here for a

:07:12. > :07:12.reason, I am helping you with the opening ceremony. What does it

:07:13. > :07:18.involve? It involves opening ceremony. What does it

:07:19. > :07:22.banner that will go around the opening ceremony. What does it

:07:23. > :07:31.in the opening ceremony and your job is to do all the queues. You will be

:07:32. > :07:37.saying three, two, one, ago. It is my job to make sure the flags go to

:07:38. > :07:42.the right place at the right time. Now I know what I have got to do I

:07:43. > :07:48.am heading back to the Millennium Stadium where the ceremony will take

:07:49. > :07:52.place to watch the final rehearsals. It is starting to dawn on me how

:07:53. > :07:58.huge the opening ceremony is going to be. Look at the size of this

:07:59. > :08:06.place. There will be 70,000 people in here. With 2000 performers and 12

:08:07. > :08:12.months of preparation, the preparation is on for me to do my

:08:13. > :08:19.job well. With less than 24 hours to go I hope I do not let everybody

:08:20. > :08:24.down. It is the morning of the opening ceremony. These guys are

:08:25. > :08:31.used to taking orders and they know what to do and when to do it, but

:08:32. > :08:35.they have never had me as a leader. Once they have been briefed it is

:08:36. > :08:43.time for them to practice holding and folding the flag correctly, so

:08:44. > :08:48.that it opens the right way around. It is important you pull out so it

:08:49. > :09:02.does not do this. It was time for me to practice my job. Three, two,

:09:03. > :09:10.one... Beautiful. Stop. Walk this Way towards the corner in three

:09:11. > :09:15.two, one. Stop on this corner. This is good fun. So we have

:09:16. > :09:19.two, one. Stop on this corner. This out at the Rugby club, but can we do

:09:20. > :09:27.it on the actual stadium's turbo. out at the Rugby club, but can we do

:09:28. > :09:32.minutes to go. I am watching what they are doing. The timing is

:09:33. > :09:38.crucial so that both flags moved at the same point and in time with the

:09:39. > :09:42.music, something I have not practised, that need to get right

:09:43. > :09:48.for the show. Next time this happens I will be in charge in front of

:09:49. > :10:01.70,000 people in here. Why did I say yes to this? Before I know it, it is

:10:02. > :10:12.showtime. The crowd loved the performances and everything is going

:10:13. > :10:18.to plan. Then it is our turn. How must the players feel when they walk

:10:19. > :10:25.out? To mark the very first game we bring on the flags for England and

:10:26. > :10:38.Australia. Labour flag down in three, two, one. Down. Once we are

:10:39. > :10:54.in position the music starts, which is my cue to reveal the flag.

:10:55. > :11:18.Get ready to stop in three, two one. Stop. Going down. Down. I have

:11:19. > :11:46.done it. What a feeling. Barney, thank you so much. Have a

:11:47. > :11:51.lovely day. Amazing. What can I say? You can only imagine how amazing the

:11:52. > :11:58.final will be on the 30th of November at Old Trafford. I am also

:11:59. > :12:03.very excited about Lindsey who is about to play the saxophone. She has

:12:04. > :12:22.not picked it up for three years. Take it away.

:12:23. > :12:58.Well played! That was amazing. The pink Panther is one of the best

:12:59. > :13:04.theme tunes ever. Come over here. That noise answers the next

:13:05. > :13:14.question. I was going to ask how your driving is. It is OK. Radzi's

:13:15. > :13:16.not brilliant. I am all about the speed! We can settle this. We know

:13:17. > :13:30.who the speed! We can settle this. We know

:13:31. > :13:34.Welcome to north Wales. People normally come here for the fresh sea

:13:35. > :13:45.air, the long walks. But look at those views. But today. People are

:13:46. > :13:51.going to get a very different view! This road plays host to one of the

:13:52. > :13:57.stages of the Wales Rally GB. And today, we are going to raise it We

:13:58. > :14:03.have already had one lesson in rallying from our tutor Ryan, but

:14:04. > :14:08.you could not say we were natural Rally drivers. Radzi proved he has a

:14:09. > :14:13.real need for speed, but that did mean he sometimes lost control of

:14:14. > :14:17.the car. Power! There are so much to think about. Lindsey showed that she

:14:18. > :14:23.likes to take things steady, but struggled a bit with the basics

:14:24. > :14:34.like steering and changing gear Second dear. That is fourth gear.

:14:35. > :14:43.But today, our focus is this, where there can be very little margin for

:14:44. > :14:47.error. Second dear, now. Third gear. While Brian begins by showing us how

:14:48. > :14:53.to drive the route, champion rally driver Alvin Evans explains why it

:14:54. > :14:57.is so difficult. It is a very twisty, challenging road. You have a

:14:58. > :15:05.big wall on one side and a rock face on the other, so there is no margin

:15:06. > :15:10.for error. Careful! Don't go too quickly. You will get corners that

:15:11. > :15:18.tighten up and leading to another corner immediately. It is all about

:15:19. > :15:29.correct lines and taking the corners at the correct speed. Brake! It is

:15:30. > :15:34.correct lines and taking the corners one of the challenging roads in

:15:35. > :15:41.Rally GB. Brake, fourth gear. Well done. Now Lindsey and I are more

:15:42. > :15:45.familiar with the course, it is time to race. We will each drive two

:15:46. > :15:48.laps, and the person with the quickest time wins. I am up first.

:15:49. > :16:17.Let's do this. Go! Brake! Power, power, power! That was

:16:18. > :16:27.better, mate. But, Brian, that did not feel fast at all. Time to see

:16:28. > :16:39.how Lindsey gets on. Go! Second dear. -- dear. Third gear, quickly.

:16:40. > :16:46.Accelerate. I am concentrating so hard, I am forgetting to change

:16:47. > :17:00.gear. Third gear! Fourth gear. Fifth gear. Keep going. Power, power,

:17:01. > :17:05.power, go, go, go! Wicked. That is my first lap in the bag, and I am

:17:06. > :17:11.leading Radzi by a whopping four microseconds. Pipe down, Lindsey.

:17:12. > :17:16.Four microseconds? I am getting that time back now. That is a winning

:17:17. > :17:24.time. The first one was time back now. That is a winning

:17:25. > :17:33.this one is the real deal. Let's see if I can claw back that time. Go.

:17:34. > :17:54.Second dear. Third gear. Fourth gear. Brake, down to third, quickly.

:17:55. > :18:01.Brake! Get off the brakes now! That was all right, wasn't it? I gave

:18:02. > :18:06.everything I had, and with a time of two minutes and 18 seconds, I have

:18:07. > :18:12.racked up the fastest lap so far. Now I am in the lead. Fairplay, you

:18:13. > :18:23.have upped your game, but I am not giving up without a fight. Go, go,

:18:24. > :18:35.go. Third gear. Power, power. Fifth gear. Watch the kerb on the left.

:18:36. > :18:49.Brake. Careful. Down to third. Brake! Go on. Well done. That felt

:18:50. > :18:56.good, and brine only seemed slightly concerned by my driving, but was it

:18:57. > :19:06.enough? How did we get on? With a time of two minutes 17.94, the

:19:07. > :19:15.winner is Lindsey! I have done it. Not the biggest of margins, less

:19:16. > :19:20.than a second, but a win is a win. She did you, mate. Sorry. That is

:19:21. > :19:28.how it is done. You have She did you, mate. Sorry. That is

:19:29. > :19:31.play the saxophone and you She did you, mate. Sorry. That is

:19:32. > :19:38.Radzi rap, and now it is Barney s turn. Over to you.

:19:39. > :19:44.# Somewhere beyond the sea. # Somewhere beyond the sea.

:19:45. > :19:55.# Somewhere, waiting for me. # Somewhere, waiting for me.

:19:56. > :20:00.# My lover stands on golden sands and watches the ships that go

:20:01. > :20:02.sailing. sailing.

:20:03. > :20:09.# Somewhere, beyond the sea. # Somewhere, beyond the sea.

:20:10. > :20:17.# She's there, waiting for me. # She's there, waiting for me.

:20:18. > :20:21.high. high.

:20:22. > :20:33.# And straight to her arms and go sailing. #. Hi from Friday Download.

:20:34. > :20:39.What are you going to do to Get Spotted for Children In Need? I m

:20:40. > :20:44.James Arthur, and I want you to Get Spotted. I played a doctor in Doctor

:20:45. > :20:51.Who. What are you doing to Get Spotted for Children In Need?

:20:52. > :20:56.Yes, there are loads of ways to get in touch for Children In Need. Head

:20:57. > :21:03.to the Blue Peter website for more details or e-mail us. Did you both

:21:04. > :21:07.watch CBBC on Sunday? Because it is the only thing to watch, and also

:21:08. > :21:10.because of the BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards. There were amazing

:21:11. > :21:15.performances I Tinie Tempah and Rizzle Kicks, but behind the glamour

:21:16. > :21:19.onstage, I met preteen heroes who are superstars in their own right.

:21:20. > :21:23.In September, I went to the Radio 1 studios to meet Nick Grimshaw, where

:21:24. > :21:29.we told you the nominations were open for the teen hero awards. You

:21:30. > :21:36.after a team of people whittled them down, I was involved in taking the

:21:37. > :21:40.final three. Wembley Arena, where the teen hero awards were presented

:21:41. > :21:45.in front of an audience of 9000 teens, with thousands listening at

:21:46. > :21:48.home . There were performances from James Arthur, Jessie J and Taylor

:21:49. > :21:57.Swift. Sharing the stage with our young heroes. Our first teen hero is

:21:58. > :22:01.a young girl called Chloe! Chloe has battled with her own mental health

:22:02. > :22:08.conditions, but has put those aside to help others, too. How did it feel

:22:09. > :22:13.when you found out you were this year's teen hero Dom one of them? I

:22:14. > :22:16.was so grateful that people had thought about me that I could not

:22:17. > :22:23.think about the excitement. But now I am here, I am like, oh, my gosh!

:22:24. > :22:28.What will it feel like when you walk out there and get your award as the

:22:29. > :22:34.teen hero? I am getting emotional. It will feel like everything I have

:22:35. > :22:51.done in my life has been worth it. Well done. Enjoy the day! Thank you

:22:52. > :22:56.so much. Let's hear it for Chloe! Our next teen hero unfortunately

:22:57. > :23:00.can't be with us tonight, but he is an amazing kid. Alexander is 13 and

:23:01. > :23:03.is committed to thinking for other people. As well as battling a

:23:04. > :23:07.condition which means his bones are so mobile that they popped out of

:23:08. > :23:12.place, he is also a full-time carer for his mother. Alexander could not

:23:13. > :23:16.make it to the ceremony, but was lucky enough to have Steve Backshall

:23:17. > :23:23.surprise him at his band practice. Is there someone called Alexander

:23:24. > :23:27.here? Is that you? It is a privilege to meet you. The reason Alexander

:23:28. > :23:31.here? Is that you? It is a privilege was awarded hero status is because

:23:32. > :23:33.he works hard and goes above and beyond everyday to raise money

:23:34. > :23:37.different causes and care for his mum. Let's meet him. Alexander

:23:38. > :23:42.raises lots of money for charity, including the poppy of Peel. Last

:23:43. > :23:48.year, he helped raise a whopping 22,000 pounds. You are hard at work,

:23:49. > :23:55.and this is one of the reasons you are one of our Radio 1 teen heroes.

:23:56. > :24:01.How does it feel? A bit shocked from when I was first told. Did you know

:24:02. > :24:09.your mum had nominated you? I did not know. You are a genuine hero. We

:24:10. > :24:17.have a couple of surprises for you. Do you know what this is? It is a

:24:18. > :24:24.barn owl. Thank you for being one of our teen heroes. Why do you think

:24:25. > :24:28.the Teen Awards are important, especially for Alexander? B it is

:24:29. > :24:34.cool for all of us to celebrate people out there that may not get

:24:35. > :24:39.recognised for what they do. These amazing teenagers have done amazing

:24:40. > :24:43.things. It is a cool thing to put them in the spotlight. They get to

:24:44. > :24:51.meet their idols act stage, and we get to meet them, which is equally

:24:52. > :24:56.amazing. Jeremiah is just 14, but already knows too much about youth

:24:57. > :24:59.violence. That has not stopped him campaigning, organising and making a

:25:00. > :25:04.huge difference. Jeremiah has been awarded hero status for his

:25:05. > :25:09.community work. When he was in year seven, he ran for young London

:25:10. > :25:15.mayor. In this role, he was able to distribute ?75,000 to improve his

:25:16. > :25:21.local area. Please give a very warm welcome to Jeremiah! How does it

:25:22. > :25:23.feel to be today? It is overwhelming. It has been a lot of

:25:24. > :25:27.fun going on the red carpet and overwhelming. It has been a lot of

:25:28. > :25:31.when Tinie Tempah came to overwhelming. It has been a lot of

:25:32. > :25:40.school? It was this a prize. I would have got a haircut and shaved! Is

:25:41. > :25:43.that Jeremiah? It has been brilliant getting this award, but at the same

:25:44. > :25:49.time, I have led to stay humble and not get too big headed. Make some

:25:50. > :25:55.noise for Jeremiah! Why is the award important? Any encouragement we can

:25:56. > :25:59.give to teenagers is a good idea. It will leave them with something for

:26:00. > :26:13.life. You will never get this feeling again. The show is winding

:26:14. > :26:16.down behind me, and what deserving teen heroes we found. I feel lucky

:26:17. > :26:19.to have been part of the selection process, and what a pledge to do it,

:26:20. > :26:30.at Wembley Arena, in front of thousands.

:26:31. > :26:32.Well done, guys. At the start of the show, I asked you to send in your

:26:33. > :26:40.weird and wonderful talents you have. Your comments have come in by

:26:41. > :26:47.the truckload. Maroon Dottie Ferri says I love singing, and I don't

:26:48. > :26:52.care when people tell me to stop. Amber in Wales says, I can do the

:26:53. > :26:58.splits while eating pizza! Another person says I can eat sour food

:26:59. > :27:03.without pulling a face! I hope that has given you inspiration to get

:27:04. > :27:07.sponsored for children in need. Make sure you are here next Thursday

:27:08. > :27:13.because we have got a treat for you. You will get the gunge one of

:27:14. > :27:18.these lovely people. Katie, Radzi, Shannon, you know about Get Spotted.

:27:19. > :27:24.Well, this is get splattered. You can vote for who you would like to

:27:25. > :27:38.see in a gunge tank extra week. It is going to be fun.

:27:39. > :27:42.see in a gunge tank extra week. It In Need. With a projection the size

:27:43. > :27:47.of an Olympic sized swimming pool, the spotty spectacular show will be

:27:48. > :27:57.big. If you want to get in touch, getspotted@bbc.co.uk. And they vote

:27:58. > :28:00.for get splattered is open now. Have a lovely week. See you next time.

:28:01. > :28:01.Bye, everybody.
