6:31:12 > 6:31:15Penn and Teller have performed on stages all over the world.
6:31:15 > 6:31:18We want to hear from you. If you could perform on a stage,
6:31:18 > 6:31:21who would it be with and what would you do?
6:31:21 > 6:31:25- Who would you perform with? - I would be the pianist in Take That.
6:31:25 > 6:31:28- I'd do all the piano playing. - Would you really?
6:31:28 > 6:31:31It's a big piano if you're playing it up there!
6:31:31 > 6:31:33Let's ask the people here. Who would you perform with?
6:31:33 > 6:31:36I would perform a drum solo with Will Champion.
6:31:36 > 6:31:38- Can you play the drums?- Yes.
6:31:38 > 6:31:41Great answer. Alfie, who would you perform with?
6:31:41 > 6:31:44I would do a black-flip on a bike with Tony Hawks.
6:31:44 > 6:31:48Ooh, yes, that is a quality answer!
6:31:48 > 6:31:51- Who would you perform with?- I would do a dance with Hacker and Dodge.
6:31:51 > 6:31:55Do you like them? Are they funny?
6:31:55 > 6:31:59- Amelia?- I would sing and dance with Little Mix.- Yes!- Great band.

6:32:12 > 6:32:15A lovely camera shot to bring you over here.
6:32:15 > 6:32:17If you are loving Help My School Trip Is Magic,
6:32:17 > 6:32:20you will love our next guests.
6:32:20 > 6:32:23They are quite simply geniuses. Genii? Not too sure.
6:32:23 > 6:32:27Give them a huge round of applause. Masters of magic, Penn and Teller.
6:32:27 > 6:32:29APPLAUSE AND CHEERING
6:32:33 > 6:32:36- Hello.- Hello, hi! - Welcome to the show.
6:32:36 > 6:32:38- Good to see you. - Thank you for being here.
6:32:38 > 6:32:40And you're wearing your Blue Peter badge.
6:32:40 > 6:32:43I have the pin right here. I don't think you gave Teller one yet.
6:32:43 > 6:32:47- I'm sorry, I forgot to. But that is yours.- Teller wants a green one.
6:32:47 > 6:32:49Oh...
6:32:49 > 6:32:51OK, now he has a green one. That's all good.
6:32:51 > 6:32:55That's what we're here to talk about - magic. Now you're on tour.
6:32:55 > 6:32:58Yes, we'll be playing right here in Manchester.
6:32:58 > 6:32:59We will play in Birmingham.
6:32:59 > 6:33:03We'll play London, starting about June 12th
6:33:03 > 6:33:05and going through June 22nd.
6:33:05 > 6:33:08We'll be over here with a lot of the big tricks from Vegas.
6:33:08 > 6:33:11Everything you do is incredible.
6:33:11 > 6:33:13Every time you perform any kind of magic,
6:33:13 > 6:33:17every audience member is staring, wondering, how did they do that?
6:33:17 > 6:33:20And that is the joy of magic. If someone is watching,
6:33:20 > 6:33:22maybe picking up a pack of cards for the first time,
6:33:22 > 6:33:25and wants to be a magician like you, what advice would you give?
6:33:25 > 6:33:29It's a different time from when we learnt. Now you have the internet.
6:33:29 > 6:33:31The internet is the best way to learn anything.
6:33:31 > 6:33:34If you see a trick you like, chances are,
6:33:34 > 6:33:38with some clever searching on the internet,
6:33:38 > 6:33:42you can find the basics of that trick, how to start or how to learn.
6:33:42 > 6:33:45With all that at your fingertips, you want to make sure
6:33:45 > 6:33:47that you look inside your heart
6:33:47 > 6:33:50at the stuff you want to say and also read a lot.
6:33:50 > 6:33:53Even when you can see the video, it's still better to read
6:33:53 > 6:33:56and get that into your imagination. It'll help you develop stuff
6:33:56 > 6:34:01To be successful, you have to try your hardest. You can't cheat at it.
6:34:01 > 6:34:03Well, magic IS cheating. Ha-ha!
6:34:03 > 6:34:07Magic is one thing where you're going to want to cheat!
6:34:07 > 6:34:10You have made a business out of it with a silent partner.
6:34:10 > 6:34:14- You literally have a silent partner. - Teller doesn't talk when we work.
6:34:14 > 6:34:16He started working silently before he started to work with me.
6:34:16 > 6:34:20When he did magic in school, he got sick of people heckling him.
6:34:20 > 6:34:24He found out that if he just shut up, people grew tired of heckling.
6:34:24 > 6:34:28And also he got interested in the idea of lying without speaking,
6:34:28 > 6:34:31making the audience tell lies to themselves.
6:34:31 > 6:34:33I would love to do an interview with, Teller,
6:34:33 > 6:34:37to see if we could do it for a long amount of time. That would be good.
6:34:37 > 6:34:39I presume you can do magic with absolutely anything?
6:34:39 > 6:34:41You told me to bring these two cans here.
6:34:41 > 6:34:43We have two soda cans here.
6:34:43 > 6:34:46And I'm going to do a trick for you with these two soda cans.
6:34:46 > 6:34:48You know they're both carbonated,
6:34:48 > 6:34:52these two beverages. You can see these hands look normal,
6:34:52 > 6:34:56but actually they have incredible powers over carbonation.
6:34:56 > 6:34:59- Over the fizz in the drink? - Over the fizz in the drink.
6:34:59 > 6:35:02These are the hands that control the fizz in the drink
6:35:02 > 6:35:05and I want you to pick either one of these two cans.
6:35:05 > 6:35:08OK. Are you doing that thing where you try to make me choose one?
6:35:08 > 6:35:11Maybe I am. You can change if you like.
6:35:11 > 6:35:14That one was closer to you, so maybe you want to take that one.
6:35:14 > 6:35:17You can take the other one further away from you.
6:35:17 > 6:35:19You could go, you want to go with that one?
6:35:19 > 6:35:23I'll take the original one. Let's give it a spin.
6:35:23 > 6:35:26The trick will only work if you happen to pick the exact one.
6:35:26 > 6:35:29- Did you pick the right one?- Yes. - Shake it up.- Shake it?
6:35:29 > 6:35:33Shake it, shake it like a freak, shake it like a freak! Like a freak!
6:35:33 > 6:35:37Shake it! Shake it! Shake it! More, more, shake it! Make it pop!
6:35:37 > 6:35:39- Shake it, shake it, shake it!- Right.
6:35:39 > 6:35:42- Tired?- Yeah.- Shake it some more.
6:35:42 > 6:35:45Hop up and down. Shake it, shake it, shake it. Here's the important part.
6:35:45 > 6:35:47You want to keep track of which one you shook up.
6:35:47 > 6:35:50Place it there. That's the one that's been shaken up,
6:35:50 > 6:35:52that's the one that's placid.
6:35:52 > 6:35:55That's the one that's shaken up, that's the one that's placid, OK?
6:35:55 > 6:35:59So this is the one that's shaken up, this is the one that's placid.
6:35:59 > 6:36:03I can take my hands right here, I take the power of the shaken up one.
6:36:03 > 6:36:06I take all that fizz out, I move it into my body,
6:36:06 > 6:36:09I move it across my body and take all that fizz
6:36:09 > 6:36:12and put it into the one that is placid.
6:36:12 > 6:36:14That's the one that's calm.
6:36:14 > 6:36:17Note that's the one that is full of anxiety,
6:36:17 > 6:36:19that's the one that's shook up.
6:36:19 > 6:36:21For all intents and purposes, you shook that one up
6:36:21 > 6:36:24but this is the one you shook up and when I open this,
6:36:24 > 6:36:26if I didn't have the power of carbonation,
6:36:26 > 6:36:29- when I open this one, it would pop like crazy. Ready?- Yeah.
6:36:29 > 6:36:33- Nothing to it. Just a refreshing drink.- Wow. OK.
6:36:33 > 6:36:37And this is the one that was completely placid.
6:36:37 > 6:36:41You hadn't shaken this at all. Not at all. And yet!
6:36:41 > 6:36:43APPLAUSE AND LAUGHTER
6:36:43 > 6:36:47It blows up like this because I have the power of carbonation.
6:36:47 > 6:36:50- There's still some left in there. - Thank you very much.
6:36:50 > 6:36:55- That's surprisingly cold. - Refreshing.- Definitely true.
6:36:55 > 6:36:58You are magic. You took the fizz from one can, put it in the other
6:36:58 > 6:37:00- and I can prove that absolutely. - You sure can.
6:37:00 > 6:37:03- You'll come back for more later? - After your wet T-shirt contest.
6:37:03 > 6:37:05I'm going to get a bath first if that's OK.
6:37:05 > 6:37:08A huge round of applause for Penn and Teller.
6:37:11 > 6:37:13We absolutely loved that, didn't we?
6:37:13 > 6:37:16We can't wait to see more from Penn and Teller later in the show.
6:37:16 > 6:37:20Now, fearless outdoor fanatic, Bear Grylls, knows a thing or two
6:37:20 > 6:37:23about survival, so a few weeks ago I went to meet him, armed with
6:37:23 > 6:37:26just your questions to find out a bit more from the man himself.
6:37:28 > 6:37:32Bear Grylls, there is nothing this ex-SAS trooper doesn't know
6:37:32 > 6:37:35about surviving extreme environments.
6:37:35 > 6:37:38He's led record-breaking expeditions to the world's extremes,
6:37:38 > 6:37:42climbed cliffs jumped from helicopters,
6:37:42 > 6:37:44and even eaten scorpions.
6:37:46 > 6:37:49You could say he wrote the book on extreme survival.
6:37:49 > 6:37:52There is one thing this tough guy has never had to contend with.
6:37:52 > 6:37:55And that's me, Lindsey Russell.
6:37:55 > 6:37:57- Hi there, nice to meet you. - Nice to meet you too.
6:37:57 > 6:38:00Now I've got a bit of a Blue Peter challenge for you today.
6:38:00 > 6:38:03- Can you build a den out of these items?- Yeah, piece of cake.
6:38:08 > 6:38:11I've got a groundsheet, we'll lay that out on the ground
6:38:11 > 6:38:14so when you sit down, you don't get wet. We've got some rope.
6:38:14 > 6:38:17I always say, if you don't know knots, do lots.
6:38:17 > 6:38:20- Then we've got a duvet cover, love the colour.- I really like it.
6:38:20 > 6:38:25- Flowery and pink, quite camouflaged. - This will keep the predators away.
6:38:25 > 6:38:30Grab an acorn, put it inside, and then you see it holds it in place,
6:38:30 > 6:38:33so when you pull it, it's not going to come off.
6:38:33 > 6:38:35And we've got some sticks.
6:38:35 > 6:38:37If you want to know one knot, this is my favourite,
6:38:37 > 6:38:39it's called a clove hitch.
6:38:39 > 6:38:43You make a loop and then another loop, one in front of the other,
6:38:43 > 6:38:47stick through it, pull it tight, and that will secure it.
6:38:49 > 6:38:50Very nice job.
6:38:57 > 6:39:00We are going to make a fire without any matches,
6:39:00 > 6:39:03without any lighter, no blow torches, nothing.
6:39:03 > 6:39:05That would be my first port of call.
6:39:05 > 6:39:07- We're just going to make it with that.- Wow.
6:39:07 > 6:39:09It's just called a fire steel.
6:39:09 > 6:39:11What you're doing, bring that down and you're striking,
6:39:11 > 6:39:13and you get a flame.
6:39:13 > 6:39:16I'll tell you what, we'll get you to do this. Go.
6:39:18 > 6:39:22You made it look so easy. 'Always stay safe around fire.
6:39:22 > 6:39:25'If you haven't got Bear to help, make sure you grab a grown-up.'
6:39:25 > 6:39:27- Yes!- You've done it. OK.
6:39:27 > 6:39:30Now we get this onto it and then we get the kindling.
6:39:30 > 6:39:34Now, all fires need three things, it's called the fire triangle.
6:39:34 > 6:39:36It needs heat, fuel and oxygen.
6:39:36 > 6:39:39And if you don't have one of those things, the fire, like you,
6:39:39 > 6:39:41is going to die.
6:39:41 > 6:39:46So this has the heat that came from our initial spark, the fuel,
6:39:46 > 6:39:47in all this nice wood,
6:39:47 > 6:39:50and the reason we do this crisscrossed like a square
6:39:50 > 6:39:52is that it keeps the oxygen going in.
6:39:52 > 6:39:55- Only one thing for it, I think we need a cup of tea.- Yes!
6:39:55 > 6:39:56Cheers.
6:39:56 > 6:40:00We're going to do something now that I like to call Grilling Bear Grylls.
6:40:04 > 6:40:08Bluegreensparklyacorn says, "What was your most frightening,
6:40:08 > 6:40:11"terrifying, heart-thumping experience?"
6:40:11 > 6:40:14Probably when I broke my back in a free-fall parachute accident.
6:40:14 > 6:40:17- I should have died, but survived. - Lived to tell the tale.
6:40:17 > 6:40:20Bluenetballelephant says, "What was the naughtiest thing
6:40:20 > 6:40:22- "you did at school?"- Probably the naughtiest was putting
6:40:22 > 6:40:25somebody's underpants on the top of the school flagpole.
6:40:25 > 6:40:29- It was on the top of this very high spire.- Did you get told off?
6:40:29 > 6:40:32- Well, they never found out who it was.- Well, they know now.
6:40:32 > 6:40:36Amberleapinglemur says, "If you were an animal, what would it be?"
6:40:36 > 6:40:40I'd quite like to be my dog, because he has the most nice, relaxed life.
6:40:40 > 6:40:43- He lies on his back, gets his tummy scratched.- Living the dream.
6:40:43 > 6:40:47In the wild, probably an eagle, just for sheer fun of flying.
6:40:47 > 6:40:49Beryltinyapricot says,
6:40:49 > 6:40:53- "What is the most disgusting thing you've eaten?"- Probably elephant poo.
6:40:53 > 6:40:57- In the wilds of Kenya. - Why did you do that?
6:40:57 > 6:41:00You can drink the juice out of elephant dung because they have
6:41:00 > 6:41:03such fast digestion, it's almost sterile when it comes out.
6:41:03 > 6:41:06- It just might save your life, Lindsey.- I'll bear it in mind.
6:41:06 > 6:41:10Zoocompostgirl says, "Hello, what is your favourite ice cream flavour
6:41:10 > 6:41:15- "and why?" Another really important one here.- Probably raspberry ripple.
6:41:15 > 6:41:17Quite specific.
6:41:17 > 6:41:20And last but not least, Creamsmilingcondor says,
6:41:20 > 6:41:23"Which animal or insect are you scared of?"
6:41:23 > 6:41:25Is there anything Bear Grylls is scared of?
6:41:25 > 6:41:29I'm careful of tarantulas because their hairs can kill you.
6:41:29 > 6:41:32If you don't cook that tarantula well enough and swallow it
6:41:32 > 6:41:35- and it's still got hairs, it'll kill you.- I love that you said "cook".
6:41:35 > 6:41:37I was expecting you to say "hold" or "look at one"
6:41:37 > 6:41:40- but you're giving tips on cooking tarantula.- I've eaten loads!
6:41:40 > 6:41:43They're delicious if you burn them enough.
6:41:43 > 6:41:45Again, I'm going to leave that one to you.
6:41:45 > 6:41:48Bear, thank you. It's been great. Thanks for the den.
6:41:48 > 6:41:51You're probably not going to want to spend any more time camping now!
6:41:51 > 6:41:52No.
6:41:54 > 6:41:57Barney, I don't think you quite got the hang of this camping malarkey.
6:41:57 > 6:42:00I can't quite work it out. But then I don't have a tree,
6:42:00 > 6:42:03do I, or rope or a Bear Grylls,
6:42:03 > 6:42:07for that matter. I look more like a pink ghost. It's not great.
6:42:07 > 6:42:11Let's just do the interview. David, what do you like about...?
6:42:11 > 6:42:14- No, Barney, that's not David, that's Emily.- I can't see anything.
6:42:14 > 6:42:17- Radzi, you do it.- I'm not Radzi. There you go, Radz.
6:42:17 > 6:42:19David, you're an outdoor enthusiast.
6:42:19 > 6:42:21What do you get up to when you're outdoors?
6:42:21 > 6:42:25We grow potatoes, beans, onions and more in our lovely garden.
6:42:25 > 6:42:27That's very impressive. In fact, I think we've a picture
6:42:27 > 6:42:30of you in action with Jessica and Emily. There you are,
6:42:30 > 6:42:33planting away at school. That looks very cool.
6:42:33 > 6:42:35And Jessica, you actually won an award, didn't you?
6:42:35 > 6:42:39- Tell us about that.- We won Young Gardener of the Year 2014.
6:42:39 > 6:42:43Yes to that title! Well done. And Emily, what did you do to earn that?
6:42:43 > 6:42:45We had to design a fun garden
6:42:45 > 6:42:48and I put a rainbow waterfall in mine.
6:42:48 > 6:42:50A rainbow waterfall?! That's amazing.
6:42:50 > 6:42:53High five! Low five! There we go! Well done, guys.
6:42:53 > 6:42:56Yeah, congratulations, guys. You win £1 million. I'm only joking,
6:42:56 > 6:42:59you don't win anything. But you do get a green Blue Peter badge
6:42:59 > 6:43:01which is more than money can buy. Now take a look at this.
6:43:01 > 6:43:04It's called the Badge Wall because it's badge-shaped.
6:43:04 > 6:43:07Have a look and see if you can spot your picture.
6:43:07 > 6:43:10This is how you earn a green Blue Peter badge.
6:43:10 > 6:43:12This is from Thomas from Staffordshire
6:43:12 > 6:43:14and he's made a plaque. He's varnished it
6:43:14 > 6:43:17and it's even double-sided with the green Blue Peter badge.
6:43:17 > 6:43:19Well done, Thomas.
6:43:19 > 6:43:21And then this one here is from Rebecca from Somerset.
6:43:21 > 6:43:24This is all about hedgehogs and how you should keep them safe
6:43:24 > 6:43:26and I couldn't agree with you more,
6:43:26 > 6:43:31but it's a very impressive hedgehog but it's not a hand hedgehog!
6:43:31 > 6:43:34That's what Grace has made there. That is genius, Grace! I love that!
6:43:34 > 6:43:38- He's all fingers.- Hey! - What about this one?- Indeed.
6:43:38 > 6:43:41A few weeks ago I was on the beach, I did a litter pick
6:43:41 > 6:43:43and that's inspired Annabel.
6:43:43 > 6:43:46There's my spring-like hair there, buckets and spades.
6:43:46 > 6:43:50We picked up loads of litter. I think there was about 165 kilos.
6:43:50 > 6:43:53- I don't like the whale.- You're not a big fan of whales, are you?
6:43:53 > 6:43:56- No, it's scaring me. - It's a lovely country.
6:43:56 > 6:43:58- You know how this was inspired by what you did?- Yes.
6:43:58 > 6:44:01Well, Lucy saw Foxes perform on the show last week
6:44:01 > 6:44:04and she didn't draw this because of that, she just drew a fox.
6:44:04 > 6:44:07It's lovely. The eyes are very similar to Foxes',
6:44:07 > 6:44:08and the nose is wet like hers was.
6:44:08 > 6:44:10Thank you very much. It's a brilliant picture.
6:44:10 > 6:44:13Now Anna down here is my favourite this week
6:44:13 > 6:44:16because this is a 3D picture. Anna is nine and from Hampshire.
6:44:16 > 6:44:20And look, this has got a little bit of a 3D bounce, why is that?
6:44:20 > 6:44:24- Because it's spring.- We write all our own stuff by the way.
6:44:24 > 6:44:27- You can use that one.- Anna has also written a lovely poem inside.
6:44:27 > 6:44:30Thank you. But this is just genius at the back.
6:44:30 > 6:44:32Her dad is very talented and creative
6:44:32 > 6:44:35and he's actually made the bird box that she drew.
6:44:35 > 6:44:37If you look at the centre of the photo,
6:44:37 > 6:44:39you'll see the bird has made a visit there.
6:44:39 > 6:44:42Congratulations, guys, thanks for sending us your stuff,
6:44:42 > 6:44:46and everyone who has get themselves a green Blue Peter badge.
6:44:46 > 6:44:48Now we absolutely love The Next Step, don't we?
6:44:48 > 6:44:50You might remember that a few weeks ago,
6:44:50 > 6:44:53we had The Next Step here in the studio and after the show,
6:44:53 > 6:44:56I caught up with them and set them a very difficult make challenge.
6:44:57 > 6:45:00Hi, cast of The Next Step. We've got Lamar, Brittany and Trevor.
6:45:00 > 6:45:02Thank you for coming in today.
6:45:02 > 6:45:05It's great to see you're wearing your Blue Peter badges with pride.
6:45:05 > 6:45:08I'm going to show you how to turn this hoodie
6:45:08 > 6:45:12into something pretty cool later. I'm not going to tell you what it is.
6:45:12 > 6:45:13It's going to be a surprise.
6:45:13 > 6:45:16- Is this the kind of thing you would wear to dance class?- Definitely.
6:45:16 > 6:45:19- For sure.- I wear this practically every day.
6:45:19 > 6:45:21So we're going to show you how to wear this to dance class
6:45:21 > 6:45:24and turn it into something cool after class.
6:45:24 > 6:45:27If you're feeling hot and sweaty, you can just change it into something.
6:45:27 > 6:45:30Now we are all loving The Next Step in the UK. We are all hooked.
6:45:30 > 6:45:32What is the best thing about being in that show?
6:45:32 > 6:45:36The fact that we get to do what we love as a career, as a job.
6:45:36 > 6:45:38We get to go there every day and just dance.
6:45:38 > 6:45:39I think that's pretty awesome.
6:45:39 > 6:45:43You guys are all fantastic dancers, so for somebody watching who thinks,
6:45:43 > 6:45:46I really want to get into dancing, what's your big piece of advice?
6:45:46 > 6:45:49Just start doing it, honestly. Lamar is a perfect example.
6:45:49 > 6:45:51He never had any training.
6:45:51 > 6:45:54- I'm a self-taught dancer from a very young age.- Wow!
6:45:54 > 6:45:57I mean, I got the show being self-taught
6:45:57 > 6:46:00- and everything like that. - Just go for it.
6:46:00 > 6:46:04So try it in your room, try it at home, in the garden.
6:46:04 > 6:46:06- Dance with some people. - Now we are going to get started.
6:46:06 > 6:46:08I'm going to show you exactly how to make these.
6:46:08 > 6:46:12So watch carefully because you might need to do it later.
6:46:12 > 6:46:14All you need to make this, it is very simple.
6:46:14 > 6:46:16You need a hoodie and elastic bands
6:46:16 > 6:46:18or hair bobbles you might find lying around at home.
6:46:18 > 6:46:21And all the details are on the website
6:46:21 > 6:46:23if you miss any of the instructions:
6:46:23 > 6:46:25But you won't, because it's very simple.
6:46:25 > 6:46:29So the first thing you need to do is take the left arm of your hoodie
6:46:29 > 6:46:33and then just gently get it through the pocket like so.
6:46:33 > 6:46:35So it comes out the other side.
6:46:35 > 6:46:39The next thing you need to do is get the right arm of the hoodie
6:46:39 > 6:46:41and this time you need to put it
6:46:41 > 6:46:43through the left arm so it goes through.
6:46:43 > 6:46:46Now you don't want that to come undone
6:46:46 > 6:46:49so this is where your hair bobbles come in very handy.
6:46:49 > 6:46:51You need to just grab that.
6:46:51 > 6:46:54This is really just to secure it so that the arms
6:46:54 > 6:46:56stay together like so.
6:46:56 > 6:47:00It doesn't have to be neat because the next step - the next step!
6:47:00 > 6:47:02- Ahh!- No pun intended!
6:47:02 > 6:47:05The next step is fold that through so the arms are in the pockets,
6:47:05 > 6:47:08so it looks like you've got your arms in your pockets. OK?
6:47:08 > 6:47:12Then you need to go to the hood and just really carefully pull
6:47:12 > 6:47:15that together like so until it is as tight as you can get it.
6:47:15 > 6:47:17And then again we need to secure that.
6:47:17 > 6:47:19That is how simple this Blue Peter make is.
6:47:19 > 6:47:22Swivel this upside down.
6:47:22 > 6:47:27Because this is going to be the top of your rucksack.
6:47:27 > 6:47:29No way!
6:47:29 > 6:47:33- How good is that?!- Cool! You can put stuff in there.
6:47:33 > 6:47:36It's not going to fall out the bottom and you can go to dance class.
6:47:36 > 6:47:39- And you've got a little tail. - I've got a little tail.
6:47:39 > 6:47:42- That's really creative.- Not bad, eh?
6:47:42 > 6:47:44Now, guys, it would not be a Blue Peter challenge without
6:47:44 > 6:47:47getting you involved, so I hope you were watching carefully. Were you?
6:47:47 > 6:47:51It is very simple and we need all three of you to have a go
6:47:51 > 6:47:55and see how quickly you could turn your hoodies into a rucksack. Ready?
6:47:57 > 6:47:59On your marks, get set, make.
6:48:01 > 6:48:03Lamar's off to a very neat start.
6:48:04 > 6:48:08Well done, Brittany. Oh, Trevor seems to be in the lead.
6:48:08 > 6:48:11Are you creative, Lamar? Are you good at this kind of thing?
6:48:11 > 6:48:17- Yes, I would say so myself. - We'll see. He's already on the hood.
6:48:19 > 6:48:22The hood's gone a little bit skew-whiff.
6:48:25 > 6:48:27Brittany, not far behind. Oh!
6:48:32 > 6:48:35Yes! Brittany is the winner!
6:48:35 > 6:48:40- Show us, Brittany. Do a nice spin? - I want to put some stuff in that.
6:48:40 > 6:48:41Yes.
6:48:41 > 6:48:45Lamar, you've let yourself down. Both of you boys did. Brittany, well done.
6:48:45 > 6:48:48The Next Step, thank you so much for coming in today.
6:48:48 > 6:48:51Remember all the details are on our website:
6:48:51 > 6:48:53Thank you for coming in.
6:48:53 > 6:48:55You know what, we are all hooked to the show.
6:48:55 > 6:48:57We cannot wait to keep watching the episodes. Thank you.
6:49:00 > 6:49:01They are such a nice bunch of guys.
6:49:01 > 6:49:04If you want to catch the next episode of The Next Step,
6:49:04 > 6:49:07you can see it on Monday at 5pm here on CBBC.
6:49:07 > 6:49:09So from one lovely bunch of dancers to another,
6:49:09 > 6:49:12would you please give it up for Ruff Diamond!
6:49:14 > 6:49:19- Wow. Welcome to Blue Peter. How are you?- We are very good, thank you.
6:49:19 > 6:49:21How did you guys start dancing?
6:49:21 > 6:49:25We were all schoolfriends and we just made use of my mum's dance studio
6:49:25 > 6:49:28when it was empty. And it just went from there.
6:49:28 > 6:49:32How do you go from that level to be the 2013 UK hip-hop champions?
6:49:32 > 6:49:34I'd say, obviously hard work.
6:49:34 > 6:49:37And just studying the history of dance,
6:49:37 > 6:49:40working hard, working together, and being yourself.
6:49:40 > 6:49:42It's really important that you're individual and original.
6:49:42 > 6:49:45And Zac, what's the coolest place you've ever performed?
6:49:45 > 6:49:47We actually performed in Greece.
6:49:47 > 6:49:51A little girl saw us on another TV show
6:49:51 > 6:49:55and her mum flew us all over to Athens to perform at her sweet 16,
6:49:55 > 6:49:59so we got to fly over to Athens, danced at her birthday party
6:49:59 > 6:50:04and got to live in a tennis club for the weekend, which was amazing.
6:50:04 > 6:50:07And bring us right up to the present day, what's next for Ruff Diamond?
6:50:07 > 6:50:10We've been touring a lot, gigging, performing around the country,
6:50:10 > 6:50:12so now we are going to get back into competing
6:50:12 > 6:50:14cos that's where we are at our best.
6:50:14 > 6:50:17And hopefully put on the kind of hip-hop show,
6:50:17 > 6:50:20a bit of hip-hop theatre, something to test ourselves.
6:50:20 > 6:50:22We look forward to that. But before then,
6:50:22 > 6:50:24you've got a very special performance.
6:50:24 > 6:50:26I cannot wait. Take it away.
6:50:32 > 6:50:35HELICOPTER ROTOR SOUNDS
6:50:37 > 6:50:41AMBIENT SYNTH CHORDS
6:51:02 > 6:51:06MUSIC: "WILD" by Jessie J
6:51:45 > 6:51:48DJ Rockstar...
6:51:48 > 6:51:50# Rascaller, double the dollar I'm a jetsetting brother
6:51:50 > 6:51:52# More hits than a white collar
6:51:52 > 6:51:54# But I can't be boxed, flow tight like Bob Marley's locks
6:51:54 > 6:51:55# I can't be dropped
6:51:55 > 6:51:56# I'm at the peak and I can't be touched
6:51:56 > 6:51:58# I'm wilding out, I've lost the plot, I can't be stopped
6:51:58 > 6:52:00# Pull up in a gnarly Warri, buy me what?
6:52:00 > 6:52:02# Opposite, I can't believe I bet I get the party... #
6:52:04 > 6:52:08MUSIC: "Cinema" by Skrillex
6:52:38 > 6:52:41APPLAUSE AND CHEERING
6:52:45 > 6:52:48What an amazing performance. Thank you very much to Ruff Diamond.
6:52:48 > 6:52:50Radzi taught them everything they know.
6:52:50 > 6:52:52Now, shows and performances come in all shapes and sizes.
6:52:52 > 6:52:56We saw one artform there in dance and now we're going to see magic.
6:52:56 > 6:52:58My personal favourite, there is nobody in the world as good
6:52:58 > 6:53:01as these two, in my opinion. Please give a huge round of applause
6:53:01 > 6:53:03for Penn and Teller.
6:53:03 > 6:53:04APPLAUSE AND CHEERING
6:53:04 > 6:53:06Thank you.
6:53:06 > 6:53:10We're going to do the oldest trick in all of magic, the cups and balls.
6:53:10 > 6:53:14We've travelled all over the world, seen street performers
6:53:14 > 6:53:17all over the world, and just about every magician you ever meet
6:53:17 > 6:53:19has their own version of the cups and balls.
6:53:19 > 6:53:22And the trick doesn't change very much but the props do.
6:53:22 > 6:53:25Like in China, they have these wonderful metal cups,
6:53:25 > 6:53:28handed down generation to generation.
6:53:28 > 6:53:31In India, they have these handcarved wooden cups,
6:53:31 > 6:53:34but we are representing the United States of America
6:53:34 > 6:53:39so we used plastic cups, and aluminium foil balls.
6:53:39 > 6:53:45And in our version of the cups and ball, it starts like this.
6:53:45 > 6:53:48We take the ball, we place it in our hands. We vanish it.
6:53:48 > 6:53:51It appears underneath the cup.
6:53:51 > 6:53:52That's how it's done all over the world.
6:53:52 > 6:53:54We take the ball and we place it in our hands,
6:53:54 > 6:53:57we vanish it and it appears underneath the cup.
6:53:57 > 6:54:00Here's a little variation Teller came up with.
6:54:00 > 6:54:02He takes the ball, places it in his hand,
6:54:02 > 6:54:05shows us where it is in the cup and it still appears underneath the cup.
6:54:05 > 6:54:07Now we take that centre ball
6:54:07 > 6:54:10and place it, visibly, underneath the centre cup,
6:54:10 > 6:54:14the two side balls, they still regroup underneath the centre cup.
6:54:14 > 6:54:17I'm going to come over here, and do a little bit of juggling,
6:54:17 > 6:54:19and while I'm juggling,
6:54:19 > 6:54:21a giant ball appears beneath the centre cup.
6:54:21 > 6:54:24One more giant ball on either side, and, of course,
6:54:24 > 6:54:28for the finish, it's an American baseball.
6:54:32 > 6:54:34And that's the American cups and balls.
6:54:34 > 6:54:37We've been doing the American cups and balls for a while,
6:54:37 > 6:54:40we wanted to kind of zoom in and do a Penn and Teller cups
6:54:40 > 6:54:44and balls, which involves breaking a few rules of magic.
6:54:44 > 6:54:48Now, the first rule of magic is you never do the same trick twice.
6:54:48 > 6:54:51So we are going to do the same trick twice.
6:54:51 > 6:54:55Second rule of magic is you never tell an audience
6:54:55 > 6:54:57how a trick is being done.
6:54:57 > 6:55:01So I'm going to tell you exactly how the trick is being done.
6:55:01 > 6:55:05The third rule of magic is you never let the audience
6:55:05 > 6:55:07see your secret preparation.
6:55:07 > 6:55:13They must not know what is hidden in which pocket.
6:55:13 > 6:55:16And the fourth rule of magic is unwritten.
6:55:16 > 6:55:20We think any magician in the world would agree with us in a second,
6:55:20 > 6:55:26that you never ever do the cups and balls with clear plastic cups.
6:55:26 > 6:55:31So here is the Penn and Teller version of the cups and balls.
6:55:31 > 6:55:34We take the first ball, pretend to place it in our hands,
6:55:34 > 6:55:37having already snuck it underneath the first cup.
6:55:37 > 6:55:40The second ball, simultaneously secreted beneath the cup.
6:55:40 > 6:55:42Place it in our hand and show it.
6:55:42 > 6:55:45The third and final ball, pretend to place it in our hand,
6:55:45 > 6:55:49pretend to place it in the cup, then secretly reveal it.
6:55:49 > 6:55:52Now the second half, three balls on top,
6:55:52 > 6:55:54the centre ball placed in the cup.
6:55:54 > 6:55:56The side balls, we don't need them any more.
6:55:56 > 6:56:00We have three duplicates. I've come over here, and this is not juggling.
6:56:00 > 6:56:02This is misdirection. While you look over here,
6:56:02 > 6:56:04Teller sticks the final ball under.
6:56:04 > 6:56:08One more on either side, and for the finish, it's an American baseball.
6:56:08 > 6:56:10Right there.
6:56:10 > 6:56:12APPLAUSE
6:56:15 > 6:56:18Absolutely amazing. It doesn't matter how many times
6:56:18 > 6:56:19you watch that, it's still incredible.
6:56:19 > 6:56:22And even the bit at the end when you can see in the cups,
6:56:22 > 6:56:24it's still incredible. Absolutely brilliant.
6:56:24 > 6:56:26If you want to try it yourself, we're going to load it
6:56:26 > 6:56:29on the website this evening, so try it out and see how you do.
6:56:29 > 6:56:31- Good luck.- That's difficult.
6:56:31 > 6:56:34At the beginning of the show, we asked you to get in touch and tell us
6:56:34 > 6:56:36if you could share a stage with anyone, who would it be with
6:56:36 > 6:56:39and what would you do? And the first one is from Pearlcupcakebuzzard.
6:56:39 > 6:56:43Go for it, Amelia. You would share a stage with?
6:56:43 > 6:56:46I would share a stage with Harry Potter and do magic.
6:56:46 > 6:56:49Like Penn and Teller. We like that one.
6:56:49 > 6:56:53Navybluelightningconkers says, "I'd perform with a trapeze artist
6:56:53 > 6:56:57"at a circus and do tricks on a trapeze." Like that a lot.
6:56:57 > 6:57:00Redmusicalseahorse - these names are getting better -
6:57:00 > 6:57:02"I'd share the stage with the National Ukelele Orchestra
6:57:02 > 6:57:06"because they are so amazing and I'd play along with my yellow ukelele."
6:57:06 > 6:57:09Have you ever heard a better idea for a Blue Peter film?
6:57:09 > 6:57:12- I'm doing that one. - Blueviolettalkativepapaya says,
6:57:12 > 6:57:14"I'd share a stage with Dick and Dom of CBBC
6:57:14 > 6:57:17"and I'd tell jokes with them." They are legends of CBBC.
6:57:17 > 6:57:21Opalminikoala says, "I would sing with Jessie J..." Yes.
6:57:21 > 6:57:25"Because she is my idol. She is the best singer EVER, in capital letters.
6:57:25 > 6:57:27Redbaseballchicken says, "I'd perform with Barney.
6:57:27 > 6:57:30- "He could play the piano and I'd sing."- We are there.
6:57:30 > 6:57:33Thanks for getting in touch and sending us your e-mails.
6:57:33 > 6:57:36We love to hear from you. Here's what's happening next week.
6:57:36 > 6:57:38Make sure you're around for it. It's a cracker.
6:57:38 > 6:57:41We're going to be joined by celebrity chef, Jamie Oliver.
6:57:41 > 6:57:42He's going to be showing you how to make
6:57:42 > 6:57:46- a yummy and colourful healthy snack. - You don't want to miss this.
6:57:46 > 6:57:49Barney and I go head to head in a monster hovercraft race.
6:57:49 > 6:57:51It is the best thing I've ever done.
6:57:51 > 6:57:54And I'm going to be showing you how to make your very own hovercraft
6:57:54 > 6:57:56using an old CD or DVD, a sports bottle cap,
6:57:56 > 6:57:59sticky tape and a balloon. Thanks to Penn and Teller for being here,
