:00:15. > :00:25.with their new studio. And it is going to be epic, find out how I get
:00:26. > :00:32.on in my Big Bike Challenge. And this week autumn Watch are telling
:00:33. > :00:34.you how to spot animals for sponsorship. That is all live on
:00:35. > :00:52.Blue Peter. Hello. You're watching Blue Peter.
:00:53. > :01:01.It is a live show and we are packed to the rafters, look we have got
:01:02. > :01:11.rafters. And it is about three Ps - pizzas, pumpkins and performances -
:01:12. > :01:17.by the vamps. They will be performing their new single scan we
:01:18. > :01:22.dance. But we -- Can We Dance. If you could have anybody go to a dance
:01:23. > :01:27.with you who would you pick. I would go for Kelly Rowland. It has to be
:01:28. > :01:33.Jessica Ennis. Do you think so? Whatever your answer is, go to the
:01:34. > :01:39.web-site at bbc.co.uk/bluepeter And at the end of the show we will show
:01:40. > :01:44.as many of your comment as we K Around the corner is a
:01:45. > :01:49.as many of your comment as we K prepared for it is Keira, from
:01:50. > :01:59.Kendal. Look at that pumpkin. It is an owl she has carved. That festival
:02:00. > :02:06.is Hallowe'en. Only seven days away. If you need to get inspired to get a
:02:07. > :02:12.pumpkin and start carving, here is your man, Dave fivengle. -- Finkle.
:02:13. > :02:18.We couldn't bring you here without showing the magic you bring to the
:02:19. > :02:24.table and first of all, we should kill the lights to expose that
:02:25. > :02:32.magic. Take a look at that. Barney Harwood in a pumpkin and Lindsey
:02:33. > :02:37.Russell as well. Dave, this a amazing, how did you get involved in
:02:38. > :02:42.carving? About six years ago, we in the village decided to grow pumpkins
:02:43. > :02:47.to raise money for charity. It was that the point we had to carve them
:02:48. > :02:56.and I thought we could do something different. It is amazing. You have
:02:57. > :03:03.some top tips. They involve these lids. We have first, the first tip
:03:04. > :03:07.is bottom. Even go for carving the top of the pumpkin to create a lid.
:03:08. > :03:14.If you carve the bottom out, so you can get in and remove the inside and
:03:15. > :03:18.then you can light your candle and just plonk the pumpkin on top. One
:03:19. > :03:24.thing I find is when I cut around the lid, then the lid falls in after
:03:25. > :03:31.a couple of days. Because it has shrunk. That's right. The next tip
:03:32. > :03:35.is water. Well, if you can carve your pumpkin two or three days in
:03:36. > :03:40.advance and you want to do something more interesting, you can carve it
:03:41. > :03:45.and put it in a bucket of water and it keeps it fresh and hydrated. Then
:03:46. > :03:50.you don't have to do it in one sitting. The best tip is after you
:03:51. > :03:55.have used it on Hallowe'en, you put it back in water, you can reuse it
:03:56. > :04:00.on Bonfire Night. There are a few presenters and you have only got two
:04:01. > :04:08.pumpkins here. You have partly done one of me. But will you be able to
:04:09. > :04:13.finish that by the end of the show? There is a lot of hair to get
:04:14. > :04:19.through. But we will cope. In 2 minutes I will see if you have done
:04:20. > :04:28.the job. They look amazing. It does take him nine hours to do his hair.
:04:29. > :04:34.Last week we asked you to Get Spotted for cheed. -- chor Children
:04:35. > :04:40.in Need. See if you can spot your spot. If you can, thank you for
:04:41. > :04:45.getting in touch. Now we were talking about the spectacular spot
:04:46. > :04:51.show and we said if you're going to design a spot, make sure it is not
:04:52. > :04:58.too small. Isabelle has gone one further. It is like a giant's
:04:59. > :05:04.frisbee. You have been e-mailing as well. I will walk slowly so the
:05:05. > :05:10.camera can follow me. Back here the e-mails that have been sent in.
:05:11. > :05:15.Morgan sent this in. He is a football fan. His sister Bethan has
:05:16. > :05:22.gone for a green spot for the background of Pudsey. And that is a
:05:23. > :05:29.cherry or a heart. But I love it. If we go back to this one, she has
:05:30. > :05:35.spots all over her spots. You have a pizza, a football, there is a ?
:05:36. > :05:41.coin. Is a planet, a heart, a face. The idea for you to send your spots
:05:42. > :05:45.is so you can be part of the spectacular spot show. It is an
:05:46. > :05:51.amazing light show that will light up the home of Blue Peter. If you
:05:52. > :06:02.would like to send yours n Get Spotted at the BBC web-site. Feast
:06:03. > :06:06.your eyes on that spot from Rosy. We will put a spot somewhere on your
:06:07. > :06:12.map. But we can't, because she hasn't told us where she lives. Tell
:06:13. > :06:18.us where you come from. If you make a spot, let us know the town you
:06:19. > :06:23.come from, so we can put it in your just desserts. And we have been
:06:24. > :06:26.showing you loads of other ways to get involved for Children in Need.
:06:27. > :06:33.Last week we showed you thousand make your own spotty -- how to make
:06:34. > :06:42.your own spotty pizzas, that you can sell by the slice to make some
:06:43. > :06:49.dough. We want you to tell as many as people about the Get Spotted

:07:04. > :07:11.show. We have got some spotty pizzas to deliver. We have got 20 seconds.

:08:33. > :08:38.down well. I don't know how that could be topped. Topped? Spl
:08:39. > :08:44.Topping. I will have to give you a pizza my
:08:45. > :08:51.Topping. I will have to give you a traffic-free way to travel in
:08:52. > :08:55.London. Pizza delivery by tandem. While they pedal across London I'm
:08:56. > :09:04.about to make another drop off in Salford. We have a pizza from
:09:05. > :09:17.Children in Need and Blue Peter And we have arrived at the ITV studios.
:09:18. > :09:27.Next stop This Morning. Next 15 miles away, we ditch the tandem
:09:28. > :09:33.Welcome to football focus. Radzi spots another opportunity. Sorry, we
:09:34. > :09:40.have got pizzas for you both. Back in London, Lindsey and I are
:09:41. > :09:53.arriving at Strictly Come Dancing. We brought you some pizza. Cheers.
:09:54. > :09:59.See you in a bit. Everyone Get Spotted. How is it going? Very well.
:10:00. > :10:05.What do you have left to do. I'm going to see the cast of Wicked I

:10:45. > :10:49.pizzas. Here you go. That is it All my pizzas are delivered. Lindsey and
:10:50. > :10:57.Barney, what about yours? We have well got one final to deliver. How
:10:58. > :11:00.are you? What a nice way to start. We have
:11:01. > :11:08.are you? What a nice way to start. day, but we haven't had anything
:11:09. > :11:15.ourselves. So hungry Pizza? No! Such a good day. Thank you to everyone
:11:16. > :11:21.who helped us. If you want to make your own spotty pizza, head to the
:11:22. > :11:27.web-site at bbc.co.uk/bluepeter and go to the pizza bit and the details
:11:28. > :11:33.are there. If cooking isn't your thing, how about getting spotted to
:11:34. > :11:46.spot wildlife. We have linked up autumn Watch and you can go and
:11:47. > :11:50.print off our wildlife part. Here is Michaela Strachan. We are filming
:11:51. > :11:55.deer here for autumn Watch. We want you to spot as many autumn time an
:11:56. > :11:59.mams as you can -- animals as you can. It could be a fun way to raise
:12:00. > :12:05.money for Children in Need. This is my top five creatures to spot in the
:12:06. > :12:11.UK this autumn. At five a noisy bird called a starling. At this time of
:12:12. > :12:16.the year they do something amaze. It is -- amazing. Hundreds and
:12:17. > :12:22.thousands of them fly together in a big flock, swooping and soaring in a
:12:23. > :12:26.huge cloud. Coming in at four, it is deer. This time of the year many
:12:27. > :12:32.deer are rutting. And that is when the males lock antlers and fight for
:12:33. > :12:38.the attention of a female. Keep quiet, keep your distance and keep
:12:39. > :12:44.still, because deer are very skittish. And at 3-2 bird, the red
:12:45. > :12:52.wing and the field fair and they migrate to the UK to feed up on
:12:53. > :12:59.berry ands fruits. At two is the Tawney owl. Owls sleep in the day
:13:00. > :13:09.and are awake at night. Listen for this sound... OWL HOOTS. Foxes, you
:13:10. > :13:14.can see urban foxes in and around towns and cities. So get out there
:13:15. > :13:16.and get spotting. But first, head to the Blue Peter web-site where you
:13:17. > :13:25.can down load your the Blue Peter web-site where you
:13:26. > :13:31.seen. So from us here, good luck and get spotted for Children in Need.
:13:32. > :13:36.Thank you. If you are going to spot wildlife, go somewhere safe and take
:13:37. > :13:43.an adult with you. Now time to tell you about Barney's Big Bike
:13:44. > :13:50.Challenge. Let's try it again. And it is Barney's Big Bike Challenge.
:13:51. > :13:56.So has the hard work, the bumps and the bruises been worth it? Well
:13:57. > :14:06.you're going to find out now in Barney's big bike... What that. We
:14:07. > :14:12.feel weeks of training and it is race day. All our mrepration --
:14:13. > :14:18.preparation will be tested on a 60 mile route that shares the start and
:14:19. > :14:30.finish of the Tour of Britain. The professional race covers 120 miles
:14:31. > :14:35.from Carlisle to Kendal: My route is shorter than the official race as
:14:36. > :14:40.these athletes can go faster and further than me. We have had a head
:14:41. > :14:50.start. But reaching the finish line before them is still an epic
:14:51. > :14:55.challenge. It has become very real. Just like any ride, I know where I
:14:56. > :15:00.am going and what I need to do but for some reason today feels scary.
:15:01. > :15:07.Here we go. Today, I am riding with my team. Jack, Becky, Caroline, Tom,
:15:08. > :15:14.Bill and team leader, Jack. Conditions are good, but Jack is
:15:15. > :15:19.worried about the weather. It is really, really cold. I have gloves.
:15:20. > :15:25.There are not many clouds, so hopefully the rain will hold off,
:15:26. > :15:30.but we have bad forecasts. Before we set off, I get support from an
:15:31. > :15:35.Olympic champion. Just good luck message me and everyone at great and
:15:36. > :15:41.cycling team. You do not need luck. Just get on your bike, pedal hard
:15:42. > :15:47.cycling team. You do not need luck. and no worries. Ed Clancy. What a
:15:48. > :16:00.legend. We know the route. We know our roles. Team Blue Peter is ready.
:16:01. > :16:04.See you later. The weather is still on our side as we loosen our legs on
:16:05. > :16:12.the ride out of Carlisle. The bike feels great. First 20 miles is flat,
:16:13. > :16:13.so we need to pedal fast. We get as much energy as possible on the way
:16:14. > :16:25.out. But then the weather starts to turn.
:16:26. > :16:30.We thought things were going too well. The wind is quite strong but
:16:31. > :16:34.the rain is the problem, I think. I am more nervous about the rain
:16:35. > :16:37.because when it gets wet, the tyres and rakes get wet, and you cannot
:16:38. > :16:42.stop as well, which makes me nervous. But like any professional
:16:43. > :16:46.team, we have a support crew. The coach, medic and easier therapist
:16:47. > :16:53.and bike mechanic, in case of any incident. So far, so good. We have
:16:54. > :16:58.done about 11 miles. We have stopped for a pit stop to have some food.
:16:59. > :17:01.Right on cue, the heavens have opened. It is raining, windy, cold.
:17:02. > :17:13.A great day for a bike ride. As the gathering clouds pelt us with
:17:14. > :17:22.rain and we are buffeted by wind, riding tightly together becomes more
:17:23. > :17:29.important. My knees are hurting We have reached 20 miles, and our
:17:30. > :17:32.Headstart has run out. The Tour of Britain race has begun and my
:17:33. > :17:40.recurring injury has come back to haunt me. 20 miles in, and my knee
:17:41. > :17:43.has gone. We are almost halfway but we are stopping again because I want
:17:44. > :17:50.to talk to the physio about the pain in my knee. My knee is starting to
:17:51. > :17:54.hurt quite a bit. Every time I put pressure on it and get out of the
:17:55. > :17:58.saddle to go up the hill, it is like a stabbing pain, the same as
:17:59. > :17:59.saddle to go up the hill, it is like time. This is where the challenge
:18:00. > :18:04.really begins. That was the warm time. This is where the challenge
:18:05. > :18:09.I am confident he is in a good place for this next section. Even though
:18:10. > :18:17.it is painful, I can go another 30 miles, which is what we are after.
:18:18. > :18:21.It is a very long climb. It is the big one. But I am feeling good. The
:18:22. > :18:28.physio is happy that I can still ride, so we set off to tackle the
:18:29. > :18:35.monster mountain roads. This weather is ridiculous. As you can tell, the
:18:36. > :18:37.rain has got a little bit worse When it rains here, it really rains
:18:38. > :18:47.here. It is not just the weather we have
:18:48. > :18:52.to worry about. Our lead rider is struggling and we have to make an
:18:53. > :18:58.emergency stop. Jack has been sick a few times, so he is going to sit it
:18:59. > :19:02.out and go in the car. But without him and his support, I would not be
:19:03. > :19:07.here today. He has been an incredible inspiration. He is
:19:08. > :19:11.incredibly fit, but unfortunately he is not well today. Get well soon,
:19:12. > :19:18.Jack. I will see you on the other side. Are we set? With Jack
:19:19. > :19:19.recovering, we begin our assent of the biggest test of our cycling
:19:20. > :19:30.route. The highest mountain pass in the
:19:31. > :19:35.Lake District, over 450 metres above sea level, and uphill all the way.
:19:36. > :19:45.Otherwise known as three miles of pain.
:19:46. > :19:51.How strong is that wind? This is the hardest thing I have ever done in my
:19:52. > :20:06.life. Not fast enough, Barney. Come on.
:20:07. > :20:24.You are a dead man, Charlie. I can't believe I have made it to
:20:25. > :20:29.the top still in the saddle, and neither can Charlie. That is the
:20:30. > :20:45.hardest I have ever worked at anything. Amazing. I am so
:20:46. > :20:53.emotional. I can't even speak. You did great. Great job, Barney. We
:20:54. > :21:02.have 45 minutes. I reckon it will be about an hour down from here. We
:21:03. > :21:06.have broken the back of our ride but dropped off the pace of the Tour of
:21:07. > :21:10.Britain. The professionals are gaining on team Blue Peter having
:21:11. > :21:15.ridden 50 miles of their route. If we don't push it, they might eat us
:21:16. > :21:19.to the finish line. When it starts to rain this heavy, I am pulling
:21:20. > :21:24.hard on the brakes and not stopping. It makes riding a bit more
:21:25. > :21:27.interesting! The weather is causing the professionals all sorts of
:21:28. > :21:33.trouble, too. They are slowing down and now have to battle the slopes of
:21:34. > :21:36.the Lake District. But we are on our descent towards Kendal. Less than
:21:37. > :21:46.ten miles to go and we are unstoppable. Quite steep here, guys.
:21:47. > :21:56.We cannot be far away now, can we? On the outskirts of Kendal, we get
:21:57. > :22:00.some energy boosting moral support. Then, as we rejoin the main tour
:22:01. > :22:06.route, it is clear we have made it ahead of the professional race. Team
:22:07. > :22:12.Blue Peter powers to the finish and there is someone special waiting
:22:13. > :22:18.there. My dad. Well done. Proud of you. Fantastic. What a great thing
:22:19. > :22:23.to see on the finish line. Without them I would not have been able to
:22:24. > :22:29.do it. Can I get a cheer for my team? They are amazing. 12 weeks of
:22:30. > :22:31.really hard training. I have fallen off, her myself, and I have scars to
:22:32. > :22:34.prove it. off, her myself, and I have scars to
:22:35. > :22:42.with a team behind you and a off, her myself, and I have scars to
:22:43. > :22:50.succeed, you can do absolutely anything. Get on a bike. It will be
:22:51. > :22:56.the best thing you do. This is my bike, and I'm so glad I did. I got
:22:57. > :23:02.quite emotional. I am not the only one proud of you. Katie from Norwich
:23:03. > :23:08.made you a medal to say well done. Thank you. That is lovely. I have to
:23:09. > :23:11.say thank you to everybody at British cycling, and to Jack and
:23:12. > :23:17.Becky, Caroline, Colin, everyone who got involved. But more importantly,
:23:18. > :23:25.Charlie, my coach, you are a legend. Thank you. Congratulations. Now it
:23:26. > :23:33.is time for the big reveal. Kill the lights.
:23:34. > :23:44.Amazing! Thank you so much for that. I am blown away by that. The
:23:45. > :23:47.Vamps are in the studio. You had better get used to the screaming
:23:48. > :23:53.because you are touring with Taylor Swift. We have only been banned for
:23:54. > :23:58.two years, so it is an incredible opportunity. You are getting more
:23:59. > :24:02.famous by the second. We are going to see why, so get ready for your
:24:03. > :24:09.performance. In the meantime, we can tell you about next week. We are
:24:10. > :24:18.going to be making edible worms Spooky edible worms. Look at those.
:24:19. > :24:22.Horrible! Stop it! And we will be joined by the cast of the
:24:23. > :24:28.award-winning musical Wicked. They will be performing live in the
:24:29. > :24:32.studio. If you want your spot to be used in the Spectacular Spot Show,
:24:33. > :24:36.go to the website and check it out. Now, they are going to perform for
:24:37. > :24:40.us. If you sent us a message to say who you would have as your dancing
:24:41. > :24:42.partner, I am sorry. Watch the bottom of your screen. Now, The
:24:43. > :24:49.Vamps with can we do is. # I talk a lot of shh when I'm
:24:50. > :24:55.drinking, baby. # I'm known to go a little too fast.
:24:56. > :24:57.they're all crazy. # But they're the only friends that
:24:58. > :25:01.I have. # But they're the only friends that
:25:02. > :25:04.# But I'd like to skip the smalltalk and romance, girl.
:25:05. > :25:12.# That's all I have to say, so, baby, can we dance?
:25:13. > :25:17.# Here we go again, another drink I'm caving in.
:25:18. > :25:21.# Stupid words keep falling from my mouth.
:25:22. > :25:24.# You know that I mean well. # My hands remember somewhere else.
:25:25. > :25:27.# Your eyes are doing naughty butterflies.
:25:28. > :25:31.# Oh, oh. # One more drink and I should go.
:25:32. > :25:33.# Oh, oh. # But maybe she might like me
:25:34. > :25:37.though. # Oh, oh.
