:00:37. > :00:47.we show you how to make your own amazing candles. And we surprise

:01:14. > :01:18.welcome to Blue Peter. We have got 300 viewers along today, to support
:01:18. > :01:25.Children in Need, Go Pyjamas, we're going to try and set a world record.
:01:25. > :01:31.We're going to Go Pyjamas on a gargantuan scale that. Means big.
:01:31. > :01:36.And we're no stranger to world recordss. We had the mattress
:01:36. > :01:46.Dominos. Then we had Spellbound, the winners of Britain's gotta
:01:46. > :01:50.lepbts. And I was the highest human throw. And last year our hula hoop
:01:50. > :01:59.challenge. Fingers crossed that is what we are hoping, but to do it we
:01:59. > :02:05.need one of these. Very funny! We're going to need a ball. Because
:02:05. > :02:10.you may have played the game over and under. You stand one behind the
:02:10. > :02:15.other, pass the ball over your head and under your legs. We're hoping
:02:15. > :02:22.to set a record for the longest single line of over and under. You
:02:22. > :02:29.go over and then you go under. And that is why we have invited so many
:02:29. > :02:35.friends today. I nearly mitt you in the face. Yes, we have been raising
:02:35. > :02:39.money for Children in Need. And let's say hello to Isabel. You're
:02:39. > :02:44.involved in a world record-break involved in a world record-break
:02:44. > :02:51.attempt. How are you feel something Excited and nervous. That is the
:02:51. > :02:56.perfect mixture. And Ore is joining in. I feel brilliant, but I have
:02:56. > :03:02.picked my second best onesie today. It look like your best one. We love
:03:02. > :03:07.it, don't we? There are some rules we have to stick to. Helen?
:03:07. > :03:14.with lifrz from Guiness World Records, our official adjudicator.
:03:14. > :03:19.You look fabulous, but where are the pyjamas. I can't wear them, I
:03:19. > :03:23.have to wear my official suit. do we have to do to set the record.
:03:23. > :03:28.It is a Guiness World Record for longest line and over and under. As
:03:28. > :03:33.you demonstrated, you have to pass it over and under altern tevly
:03:33. > :03:38.throughout the entire length. It has to start here and end with Dean.
:03:38. > :03:44.The most important guideline is that the ball cannot be dropped.
:03:44. > :03:49.Otherwise the attempt is disqualified. So if the ball gets
:03:49. > :03:54.dropped, the attempt is digs qualified. Can we start again.
:03:54. > :03:59.but the record is a new record and you need at least 250 people.
:03:59. > :04:03.have got more than that. If we get to the end of the line we will have
:04:03. > :04:08.the record. Yes if you follow the guidelines. Can you follow the
:04:08. > :04:12.guidelines. Well the end of the line is Dean. If you drop the ball,
:04:12. > :04:17.you have let everyone in the room down. How do you feel? Really
:04:17. > :04:25.nervous. I BT you do now. It is like the goalkeeper when a penalty
:04:25. > :04:29.is going to be taken. But we will support him, won't we? Yes best of
:04:29. > :04:34.luck. From the end of the line to the start of the line, how do you
:04:34. > :04:40.feel about being the first person to pass on the ball? Excited. It
:04:40. > :04:48.isry day you do a world record. glad you're part of this, I'm
:04:48. > :04:56.confident and about the first few passes. I'm glad to be here. Will
:04:56. > :05:03.you present Newsround for us in that? Maybe not. Oh she should.
:05:03. > :05:12.Shouldn't she? We will make her do it. Guid luck. Can I press the
:05:12. > :05:19.button? Yes. Are we all ready? The official world record attempt...
:05:19. > :05:25.Put your teeth in! The official attempt starts in three, two, one
:05:25. > :05:30.go! The ball has gone to Leah. She is passing it through her legs. She
:05:30. > :05:37.is delighted with that. It is moving to the tiger and then to the
:05:37. > :05:40.girl behinds. It is moving on swithly. I'm feeling -- swiftly,
:05:41. > :05:47.I'm feeling confident. We're approaching the first corner. I
:05:47. > :05:52.think they're going to do it. It is so good so far. Well done. On to
:05:53. > :05:59.James and Liam is next. He has skull and cross bones. It is a sign
:05:59. > :06:06.of danger, but he is OK. It is hard to play this game in a onesie with
:06:06. > :06:12.a sagy bottom! But I think we have got it sorted. We have gone down
:06:12. > :06:15.about 20 people. A lot to go before we break the record. Now, Liz is
:06:15. > :06:20.lovely but she won't let anything slip. She is keeping her eye on
:06:20. > :06:24.them. If that ball gets dropped, we will have to start again. We're
:06:24. > :06:26.trying to prove you can do anything in your pyjamas if you wants to
:06:26. > :06:31.support the appeal for Children in Need. A lot of you have been in
:06:31. > :06:35.touch to say you're getting involved. Jack sent us this
:06:35. > :06:40.photograph of him at a local theme park. He is eight and you can see
:06:40. > :06:45.the penguins there. He has got his onesie, his dressing gown and his
:06:45. > :06:50.Blue Peter badge. Because he had his badge on, he got into the theme
:06:50. > :06:57.park free. And James and Connie did a responsored bike ride in their
:06:57. > :07:07.pyjamas and went around a park near where they live. Well done guys.
:07:07. > :07:09.
:07:09. > :07:14.Next up now, Rebecca went out in Somerset in her pyjamas and did the
:07:14. > :07:18.shopping. Well done Rebecca. They have been doing their bit. How is
:07:18. > :07:22.it going? You can see Liz is following the ball. It has gone
:07:22. > :07:30.well. But you can say everyone is nervous about dropping the ball. If
:07:31. > :07:34.it is dropped, we have to start again. How did you feel, Beth?
:07:34. > :07:38.amazing. Emily has her arm in a sling but it went well. Yes.
:07:38. > :07:42.now it is around to the side and we're on the way to breaking the
:07:42. > :07:46.record. Yes, but we're not there yet. There is still time if you
:07:46. > :07:53.want to get behinds Children in Need. You have another week to hold
:07:53. > :07:59.an event like Anya. She has organised a run to raise money for
:07:59. > :08:04.Children in Need. Good luck with that. Luke sent us a presents. It
:08:04. > :08:10.is some crocheted poppies. I have got mine on now. Now if you are
:08:10. > :08:20.going to get involved, check out the web-site. Everything you need
:08:20. > :08:25.
:08:25. > :08:32.It is going well. The boys are making it. Have we dropped the ball
:08:32. > :08:37.yet? We're still going. Liz has her eyes on the action. As long as the
:08:37. > :08:44.ball is not dropped, we should break the record. Dean is poised
:08:44. > :08:49.and when 4 gets the ball we have done it. Poor Dean, he is looking
:08:49. > :08:57.nervous. We are all feeling the pressure. We want this to be a
:08:57. > :09:00.success. Look at our Go Pyjamas map and you will see there are extra
:09:00. > :09:04.stickers, because you have been telling us what you have been doipg.
:09:04. > :09:14.You may remember that I went to see Ella in Glasgow and I sup surprised
:09:14. > :09:18.
:09:18. > :09:28.her at her pyjama event. Barn nee surprised a school in York. - barn
:09:28. > :09:29.
:09:29. > :09:32.nee. Now here is what happened when Barney met a group of dancers in
:09:33. > :09:36.London. Now we are trying to set a new world record and you can see
:09:36. > :09:40.what is happening, because there will be a box in your screen. Now
:09:40. > :09:45.time to see what happened when Barney went to surprise Vikki and
:09:45. > :09:53.her friends in London. We have had a huge response to this year's
:09:53. > :09:59.appeal and that proves you lot are pyjamas bonkers. Today's pigeon
:09:59. > :10:05.ping -- pigeon is hiper and a whole load funkier. Follow me. Inside
:10:05. > :10:10.this bilgdz in London is a dance group, who got together to raise
:10:10. > :10:13.money for our appeal. So I'm going to pop in and say hello and make
:10:13. > :10:17.sure their pyjamas meet the required regulations from Blue
:10:17. > :10:24.Peter and by the way, they don't know I'm here and I have brought
:10:24. > :10:30.some friends to meet them. Sit say hell to the dance group from the
:10:30. > :10:40.states. Earlier this year they won America's best dance crew and are
:10:40. > :10:43.
:10:43. > :10:52.now in London. Time to go pyjamas. Hi. Hello. How you doing? Nice to
:10:52. > :10:55.meet you. Hi everyone. Hi. How you doing? I'm here to say thank you
:10:56. > :11:00.for raising money for Children in Need by putting on your pyjamas and
:11:00. > :11:10.I'm here to give you a bit of a treat. I have brought some friends
:11:10. > :11:13.
:11:13. > :11:23.with me. They waiting for you in that next room. Everyone, follow me.
:11:23. > :11:23.
:11:23. > :11:32.Come on in. Everyone say hello to the electro-lights. America's best
:11:32. > :11:42.dance group. You can sit in the audience. Off you go. Look at their
:11:42. > :11:42.
:11:42. > :12:26.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 44 seconds
:12:26. > :12:33.# Oh Gangnam Style! Oh Gangnam # Love me all night long # I have
:12:33. > :12:37.been every where looking for you babe # I taught them everything
:12:37. > :12:47.they know. It has gone down well and now time for our pyjama group
:12:47. > :12:54.
:12:54. > :12:58.I think it is fair to say these guys love dancing and if you
:12:58. > :13:02.combine that with putting on pyjamas, you can raise money. But
:13:02. > :13:12.you can do whatever you want. Get your pyjamas on, raise money and
:13:12. > :13:13.
:13:13. > :13:21.make sure you tell us about it. You know, it has been so much fun,
:13:21. > :13:25.surprising these people. Everyone's been getting 106 - involved and it
:13:25. > :13:33.gets touch in touch. If you are still raising money, let us know
:13:33. > :13:38.Everyone is getting involved, you can hear Liz shouting directions.
:13:38. > :13:42.So far we're doing well. The ball has not been dropped. Everyone's
:13:42. > :13:49.getting involved with Go Pyjamas and on that side of studio, Helen
:13:49. > :13:53.is with some famous faces. The ball has not been dropped, but we almost
:13:53. > :13:59.had moment. Jack you were confused as to where to send it? Yes.
:13:59. > :14:06.you got through it. So don't worry. It was our fault. We snuck up
:14:06. > :14:11.beliends you. I'm blaming him. is not me. Thank you for coming in,
:14:11. > :14:18.you can be butter fingers so I pulled them back. That is why Jack
:14:18. > :14:24.was confused. I can barely keep hold of a milky brew, never mind a
:14:24. > :14:29.ball. Thrfrpblgts goes the ball. That was your moment. You did not
:14:29. > :14:35.drop it. Are you relieved? Yes. What do you think of the appeal so
:14:36. > :14:42.far. You look comfy in that. If you can pick an appeal to do in an
:14:42. > :14:48.outfit it could be your pyjamas. Frpbgs I think - I think you should
:14:48. > :14:53.wear it on air. She said it. Barney. Hang on has the ball got to Dean?
:14:53. > :14:59.That is the very end of the line. Listen we have got a few things to
:14:59. > :15:04.do, hiz has to make sure everything is all right. -- Liz. And here is
:15:04. > :15:09.the real reason lie you're raising money. We're having a great time,
:15:09. > :15:19.but I met a young boy called Kyle who showed me why the money is so
:15:19. > :15:23.
:15:23. > :15:29.important. Because it helps him I am Kyle and I'll live with my mum,
:15:29. > :15:37.dad and brother. I love playing wheelchair basketball and I love
:15:37. > :15:40.playing Wilshere football. It went in! I am here to find out what
:15:40. > :15:43.Kyle's life is like living with cerebral palsy and how the money
:15:43. > :15:46.raised for children's and need is helping him pursue his passion of
:15:46. > :15:50.playing football. - children in Need.
:15:50. > :15:54.Colours like any other 11 year-old but unlike most children, he lives
:15:54. > :15:59.with a condition that affects his everyday life.
:15:59. > :16:03.What is it like living with cerebral palsy? It is kind of
:16:03. > :16:07.challenging but I like a challenge so it is fun. The messages that are
:16:07. > :16:12.being sent from your brain gets scrambled so it is difficult to
:16:12. > :16:16.walk. What do you do on a daily basis to make that better? I do
:16:16. > :16:21.physiotherapy in the morning and then I'd do physiotherapy at school.
:16:21. > :16:26.What kind of things do you do? You're basically try to stretch the
:16:26. > :16:32.muscle and loosen it, so I usually wake up and try to use my sticks. I
:16:32. > :16:38.get stretched, and it makes me stand up straight. What are we
:16:38. > :16:46.going to do later? We are going to be doing power football. It is a
:16:46. > :16:51.sport that I can do. You need skill to do it. It is truly exhilarating.
:16:51. > :16:55.You should show me what you've got. Playing sport helps Kyle deal with
:16:55. > :17:02.his cerebral palsy so we're off to a training session with his mother.
:17:02. > :17:06.What is he likely he is here? what is he like when he is here. He
:17:06. > :17:11.is socialising, speaking with his friends, it is kind of an extended
:17:11. > :17:17.family. Children in Need helps to fund this power chair football team.
:17:17. > :17:21.It is a growing sport. Two teams of four people control it will chair
:17:21. > :17:26.with a wheels and a large motor, allowing players to move across the
:17:26. > :17:31.pitch at speed. The team was set up and is run by Sharon. What you see
:17:31. > :17:36.when the children come down here? This really gives them the chance
:17:36. > :17:41.to have a bit of fun. Absolutely. Many of them are isolated when they
:17:41. > :17:44.are at home because they cannot just go out and play in the street,
:17:44. > :17:48.so they get a chance to come and meet your friends and they can show
:17:48. > :17:53.real skill. I cannot wait to play football with the team but before
:17:53. > :18:03.wicket off, some more training. In a minute, we're going to do a bit
:18:03. > :18:09.of football but we're just going around cones at the moment. Barney
:18:09. > :18:13.is doing all right. He understands the game. The game is the early on.
:18:13. > :18:18.Emily has picked me to be in her team. What you like about playing
:18:18. > :18:23.this game? You can let your talent out and show people how good you
:18:23. > :18:27.are and what durability is. It does not matter what you're ability is,
:18:27. > :18:31.we are all the same. It is a chance to show off? And to show people
:18:31. > :18:41.that you're not just disabled, you can do other things. It is time for
:18:41. > :18:47.
:18:47. > :18:57.kick-off. Yes! In this game, everyone is working together and as
:18:57. > :19:03.
:19:03. > :19:08.a result, we are winning. When Emily and Kyle come here to be
:19:08. > :19:12.part of the team, it is an incredible football team. It is an
:19:12. > :19:15.amazing sense of community inspired by this. This is why we want you to
:19:15. > :19:20.Go Pyjamas because the money you have to raise help to fund projects
:19:20. > :19:28.like this one. It means that these children get to play the sport they
:19:28. > :19:38.love. Come on, let's Go Pyjamas! I, I am Tolly sat under one
:19:38. > :19:39.
:19:39. > :19:44.Tchoutou Go Pyjamas with Blue Peter. -- I am Tulisa. We are cover-drive
:19:44. > :19:46.and we are asking you to Go Pyjamas for children in Need. Some
:19:46. > :19:51.celebrities are doing it and everyone is joining in. Even though
:19:51. > :19:55.we are in a big studio, the heat in here is incredible because we are
:19:55. > :19:59.all wearing pyjamas over our ordinary clothes. That is what
:19:59. > :20:06.we're trying to do to break the record. The last person is stood
:20:06. > :20:09.right here. Are you feeling? Just excited. It is overwhelming. Look
:20:09. > :20:17.at the action replay if you catching the ball. It is amazing.
:20:17. > :20:20.This is one of the moments where everyone punches the air. It is
:20:20. > :20:23.over and under. And there you go, we have made it to the end without
:20:23. > :20:28.anyone dropping it, so congratulations. You should be
:20:28. > :20:32.really pleased with yourself. The thing is, we do not yet know if it
:20:32. > :20:37.is an official world record. We're doing the sums and working out
:20:37. > :20:41.whether we have adhered to the guidelines. Only if we have will
:20:41. > :20:48.she give us the world record. Fingers crossed. You can take your
:20:48. > :20:52.hood down, because he did not drop it. So it does not matter. Earlier
:20:52. > :21:00.today, Bonnie got to grips with wax and wait to make some very special
:21:01. > :21:03.candles. - wick. Those are home- candles. - wick. Those are home-
:21:03. > :21:10.made candles and I'm going to show you how to make them. Because on
:21:10. > :21:16.Tuesday, Britain's Sikhs, Hindus and Jains will decelerating to
:21:16. > :21:26.winey. They decorate their homes with lights and candles. -
:21:26. > :21:30.
:21:30. > :21:34.celebrating the Vanni. -- Diwani. Make peace candles. - I'm going to
:21:35. > :21:44.show you how to make these candles. We're using top-quality wax crayons.
:21:45. > :21:45.
:21:45. > :21:51.You need some heat proved cookie cutters, any shape. We're also
:21:51. > :22:00.going to need one of these, a saucepan. With about an inch of
:22:00. > :22:04.water in it, because that is going to be used to melt the wax. And the
:22:05. > :22:10.ball goes on top. You may ruin this by putting wax into it, so make
:22:10. > :22:20.sure your mother is happy you are using it. Wax crayons, break them
:22:20. > :22:24.
:22:24. > :22:28.up, and put them in the bowl. If you want to, you can make a candle,
:22:28. > :22:35.Ock one solid block of colour, or you can make different types, with
:22:35. > :22:44.different colours to make different layers. So now, we're just going to
:22:44. > :22:49.make a red one. Here is one already melting. Choose your cookie cutter.
:22:49. > :22:54.I'm going to use a diamond one. And then take the Wick, which is the
:22:54. > :23:04.most important part. There is a silver disc on the bottom of it,
:23:04. > :23:07.
:23:07. > :23:15.which holds it in place. When the wax has melted, then tip it into
:23:15. > :23:19.the middle of the cookie cutter. You can do different layers but I'm
:23:19. > :23:25.going to make one block of colour, just like that. It will set quite
:23:25. > :23:29.quickly. This is the first time I have done this. If you want to see
:23:29. > :23:33.the ones that have been done earlier, we have won their that is
:23:33. > :23:38.red and yellow. Or there is one here but his pink and yellow.
:23:38. > :23:48.Choose what ever colour you like. Once it has set, all you need to do
:23:48. > :23:48.
:23:48. > :23:58.is take your scissors and trim the Wick to about that size. That
:23:58. > :24:09.
:24:09. > :24:12.should be OK. The last thing to do, you are unsure, get an adult to
:24:12. > :24:17.help you. Never leave a candle unattended in a room when you are
:24:17. > :24:21.not there because it is dangerous. And there you have it, a home-made
:24:21. > :24:31.candle for Dr What - for days Valley. The great thing about these,
:24:31. > :24:32.
:24:32. > :24:41.because they used to be wax crayons, look, you can still draw with them.
:24:41. > :24:45.I made that. You can draw things much better than that! I am an
:24:45. > :24:49.much better than that! I am an expert at bobble drawing. Well done,
:24:49. > :24:59.congratulation on the candles. want to thank all of you who have
:24:59. > :25:09.
