0:02:04 > 0:02:07I've been acting since I was seven

0:02:07 > 0:02:09and so I was kind of taking on adult responsibilities at that age

0:02:09 > 0:02:12and they're in year seven, taking on adult responsibilities.

0:02:12 > 0:02:15They're putting on a show, which is what adults would do,

0:02:15 > 0:02:16so I think I can kind of empathise

0:02:16 > 0:02:18with how they're feeling and what they're doing.

0:02:18 > 0:02:22Today, Annalise, Chloe and Peter are travelling

0:02:22 > 0:02:26to CBBC HQ in Salford to meet mentor Cel for the first time.

0:02:26 > 0:02:28I'm very excited about what's going to happen

0:02:28 > 0:02:30and I think I'm getting quite nervous,

0:02:30 > 0:02:32because we don't know everything that's going to happen yet.

0:02:32 > 0:02:36- How do you think you feel? You're finally in Manchester...- Excited.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39I'm dead excited now I'm here and I'm not nervous no more.

0:02:45 > 0:02:47- This is my dream team, is it?- Yeah.

0:02:47 > 0:02:50So I've set up a task for you, OK, but it's split into two parts.

0:02:50 > 0:02:55The first part is you guys holding an addition process

0:02:55 > 0:02:58and then you choose what sort of acts you want to be performing.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01Then, you have to come up with a dance routine.

0:03:01 > 0:03:02- Ooh!- OK!

0:03:02 > 0:03:04The team need to find local acts

0:03:04 > 0:03:08and create a dance routine to teach to the party-goers tomorrow

0:03:08 > 0:03:12and, to do all of that, they're going to need a bit of inspiration.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15I've sorted out for you guys to go behind-the-scenes

0:03:15 > 0:03:18- of the CBBC show Alesha's Street Dance Stars!- Come on!

0:03:18 > 0:03:20- How does this sound?- Very exciting.

0:03:20 > 0:03:22I felt very, like, quite scared,

0:03:22 > 0:03:24because we've never done this sort of thing before.

0:03:24 > 0:03:26I feel confident that we'll nail it.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28Off to the set of Alesha's Street Dance Stars

0:03:28 > 0:03:31to check out the best young dance crews

0:03:31 > 0:03:33and find out what makes a great act.

0:03:33 > 0:03:35# I'm on the floor, floor!

0:03:35 > 0:03:37# I love to dance!

0:03:37 > 0:03:39# So give me more, more... #

0:03:39 > 0:03:40Watching the rehearsals,

0:03:40 > 0:03:43the kids hope to get ideas for their dance routine.

0:03:53 > 0:03:56They even get the chance to try out the judges' chairs in preparation

0:03:56 > 0:03:58for their own casting session.

0:04:02 > 0:04:06They've sat in the judges' seats, now they get to quiz them.

0:04:06 > 0:04:07It's Dwayne and Turbo.

0:04:07 > 0:04:10What do you look for in an act when selecting them for the show?

0:04:10 > 0:04:12- Creativity.- Presence.

0:04:12 > 0:04:16- Hmm! Teamwork.- Teamwork, definitely.

0:04:16 > 0:04:18What they don't know is that

0:04:18 > 0:04:21they'll be seeing one of the judges again later.

0:04:21 > 0:04:24But first, the chance to ask the star of the show herself,

0:04:24 > 0:04:27the amazing Alesha Dixon, what makes a great act.

0:04:27 > 0:04:30What acts shall we include for our party?

0:04:30 > 0:04:33I love singers, I love dancers, so I'd obviously have them,

0:04:33 > 0:04:37but then, I'd like to have something different that people don't expect.

0:04:37 > 0:04:39What do you think makes a great act?

0:04:39 > 0:04:43I like people that genuinely, genuinely have

0:04:43 > 0:04:46a passion for what they're doing and then, they become believable.

0:04:46 > 0:04:50When they're believable, you relax, you enjoy it, you feel something.

0:04:50 > 0:04:54What do you think is the best way to approaching a massive challenge?

0:04:54 > 0:04:57Try not to feel overwhelmed by it or worry.

0:04:57 > 0:05:00I would try to think really positive and have the attitude of,

0:05:00 > 0:05:03"I can do this, we together can do this."

0:05:03 > 0:05:06I felt really good that I've met Alesha, cos I always look up to her,

0:05:06 > 0:05:08cos she's amazing, she's capable of doing loads of things,

0:05:08 > 0:05:11so I always thought she'd be a good role model.

0:05:11 > 0:05:14Armed with the advice from Alesha, the kids head back to Middlesbrough

0:05:14 > 0:05:17to make a start on their dance routine.

0:05:17 > 0:05:18They'll need to teach it

0:05:18 > 0:05:21to crowds at the party for them all to perform.

0:05:21 > 0:05:23Four, five, six,

0:05:23 > 0:05:25seven and then eight!

0:05:25 > 0:05:27- Spin?- And then spin.

0:05:27 > 0:05:31- Then five...- Then it was one, two. - No, cos you have to count to eight.

0:05:31 > 0:05:34So if we do four, then five, six, seven, eight,

0:05:34 > 0:05:36- so do two of them.- Yeah, it was.

0:05:36 > 0:05:39Choreographing a dance is not as easy as the team first thought,

0:05:39 > 0:05:43especially when there are three people who all want to be in charge.

0:05:43 > 0:05:46Soon, tensions start to show.

0:05:46 > 0:05:48Certain people are annoying me.

0:05:48 > 0:05:51Annoying. It's frustrating.

0:05:51 > 0:05:54There's no point doing this if you just disagree with everything.

0:05:56 > 0:06:00After a few tense minutes, they put their differences aside

0:06:00 > 0:06:02and start to work together as a team.

0:06:02 > 0:06:05UP-TEMPO DANCE MUSIC PLAYS

0:06:10 > 0:06:12ALL: Woo-hoo!

0:06:12 > 0:06:15The mood has lifted, but their work has only just begun.

0:06:15 > 0:06:18They now need to teach their dance routine to Cel

0:06:18 > 0:06:20in preparation for the party.

0:06:20 > 0:06:23Annalise, Chloe and Peter arrive at the dance studio, where Cel

0:06:23 > 0:06:27is keen to get going and learn the dance the kids have come up with.

0:06:27 > 0:06:28I'm nervous.

0:06:31 > 0:06:34- Then your arm like that. - Oh, OK. Fine.- Yeah.

0:06:34 > 0:06:39Cel is strutting his stuff, but he's not quite up to Peter's standards.

0:06:39 > 0:06:43- You went like that instead of... - All right! I'm still learning!

0:06:43 > 0:06:47- Oh...- Nearly, Cel, but not quite.

0:06:47 > 0:06:49I thought Cel was funny when he was dancing.

0:06:49 > 0:06:52I don't think I'm the best dancer out there, but I did my best.

0:06:52 > 0:06:55When he got the grasp of it, he was a really good dancer.

0:06:55 > 0:06:58They've got the moves, but are they lacking the magic?

0:06:58 > 0:07:01Maybe what they need is a bit of help

0:07:01 > 0:07:04from one of Alesha's Street Dance Stars dream team,

0:07:04 > 0:07:06but who could that be?

0:07:09 > 0:07:11PETER: Ah! LAUGHTER

0:07:11 > 0:07:13I thought you might need a bit of extra help

0:07:13 > 0:07:16to polish your routine, so I brought Turbo. Surprised?

0:07:16 > 0:07:19- Yeah, I didn't expect him to be here. - Are you glad he's here?- Yeah.

0:07:19 > 0:07:23Dancer Turbo has been a judge on Alesha's Street Dance Stars

0:07:23 > 0:07:28since the early days and certainly knows how to perfect a performance.

0:07:28 > 0:07:29It's your choreography, it's your steps.

0:07:29 > 0:07:32So we're going to clean it up and we're going to refine it.

0:07:32 > 0:07:34As the shock of Turbo's arrival

0:07:34 > 0:07:37wears off, he introduces them all to some rather interesting

0:07:37 > 0:07:39teaching techniques.

0:07:39 > 0:07:42Three! Four! Five! Six! Seven!

0:07:42 > 0:07:45- Scream! - THEY ALL SCREAM

0:07:47 > 0:07:51Now it's time to get down to business and get the dance nailed.

0:07:51 > 0:07:54Five, six, seven, eight.

0:07:54 > 0:07:56One, two, three, four...

0:07:56 > 0:07:59Turbo turned up and it was a real... It was a really good surprise,

0:07:59 > 0:08:03cos he helped us a lot. And he's gave us quite a few tips.

0:08:03 > 0:08:04Go again, one more time.

0:08:04 > 0:08:06One, two, three, four,

0:08:06 > 0:08:10five, six, seven, eight. One, two, three, four.

0:08:10 > 0:08:12Make sure your pose is strong.

0:08:12 > 0:08:13It has to be strong.

0:08:13 > 0:08:16'We had quite a basic quality of the dance. I know it was good,

0:08:16 > 0:08:18'but when he's come and stepped in,'

0:08:18 > 0:08:20he's really, really helped.

0:08:20 > 0:08:22I'm quite relieved, cos I'm really happy with it.

0:08:22 > 0:08:24Criss, cross, pose.

0:08:24 > 0:08:25Do you know what, keep that one.

0:08:25 > 0:08:29Turbo's enthusiasm is starting to rub off on the team.

0:08:29 > 0:08:33And the dance goes from good to great.

0:08:33 > 0:08:35The dance is finally finished.

0:08:35 > 0:08:39But they still have to teach it to the party-goers at the main event.

0:08:39 > 0:08:41I feel they'll be ready for the 27th.

0:08:41 > 0:08:44As long as they practise and build up their confidence

0:08:44 > 0:08:46and, most of all, have fun.

0:08:46 > 0:08:48Every party needs a headline act,

0:08:48 > 0:08:51and their next challenge is to cast one.

0:08:51 > 0:08:54Their favourite will headline the live event tomorrow.

0:08:54 > 0:08:57Backstage, Turbo is giving the hopefuls a pep talk.

0:08:57 > 0:09:00So how are you guys feeling now? Cos you're about to go and perform.

0:09:00 > 0:09:03- How are you feeling?- We've got the adrenaline and stuff.- Yeah?- Yeah.

0:12:49 > 0:12:51Chris Cross is like a daredevil.

0:12:51 > 0:12:54Some of the things he done were so, like, sick

0:12:54 > 0:12:56or it was, like, horrible but really good at the same time.

0:12:56 > 0:13:00With all the acts having performed, Annalise, Chloe and Peter

0:13:03 > 0:13:06The winner gets top billing at the live event tomorrow.

0:13:06 > 0:13:08We're celebrating the opening of the Olympics. At the opening
