0:08:50 > 0:08:57.
0:09:07 > 0:09:1180, 81, 82...
0:09:11 > 0:09:14Oh, hello. I'm Kimberley. I've lost count now.
0:09:14 > 0:09:17I like my hair to look perfect, just right,
0:09:17 > 0:09:21so I need to brush my hair every night, at least 100 times,
0:09:21 > 0:09:24but the girl in tonight's Bedtime Story
0:09:24 > 0:09:28doesn't like brushing her hair at all. She's called Holly.
0:09:28 > 0:09:30The story's by Sarah Dyer
0:09:30 > 0:09:34and it's called The Girl With The Bird's Nest Hair.
0:09:34 > 0:09:36Holly was just like lots of girls.
0:09:36 > 0:09:40She did not mind her messy curls.
0:09:40 > 0:09:43Holly did not like her hair being brushed,
0:09:43 > 0:09:47much to her mother's utter disgust!
0:09:47 > 0:09:52Then one morning she awoke to find a little bird had arrived.
0:09:52 > 0:09:55It had settled down to have a rest
0:09:55 > 0:09:58and made Holly's hair into its nest.
0:09:58 > 0:09:59Her mum, however,
0:09:59 > 0:10:01was not so sure.
0:10:01 > 0:10:04She was worried there might be more.
0:10:04 > 0:10:07"You cannot keep it," said her mum,
0:10:07 > 0:10:10"just in case more of them come."
0:10:10 > 0:10:15Soon enough a second appeared, which was as her mum had feared.
0:10:15 > 0:10:17"I should give my friends a good feed.
0:10:17 > 0:10:21"We must go and buy some birdseed."
0:10:21 > 0:10:24As they went to the shops, birds gathered in the treetops.
0:10:24 > 0:10:27Two little birds soon became nine,
0:10:27 > 0:10:30but Holly thought all this was just fine.
0:10:30 > 0:10:34In the supermarket, while Mum bought pizza and bread,
0:10:34 > 0:10:36Holly's friends flew around her head.
0:10:36 > 0:10:39"Your hair is becoming a bit of a crush.
0:10:39 > 0:10:43"I think now might be time to give it a brush."
0:10:43 > 0:10:46Holly replied, "Absolutely no way!
0:10:46 > 0:10:49"All these lovely birds are here to stay."
0:10:49 > 0:10:53Later that day they went off to the farm.
0:10:53 > 0:10:56Holly took birdseed, tucked under her arm.
0:10:56 > 0:10:59While at the farm, they stopped for some cake
0:10:59 > 0:11:03and Holly's mum cried out, "For goodness' sake!
0:11:03 > 0:11:06"It's gone on too long. I must brush your hair.
0:11:06 > 0:11:09"There are birds absolutely everywhere!"
0:11:09 > 0:11:15"No, Mum," said Holly, "it's perfectly fine.
0:11:15 > 0:11:18"These little birdies are simply divine!"
0:11:18 > 0:11:22So off they went around the farm and Holly's mum tried to stay calm.
0:11:22 > 0:11:25While Holly was feeding a cow and a pig,
0:11:25 > 0:11:28her mother was worried that the birds were too big.
0:11:28 > 0:11:33On through the farm Holly skipped, gathering pace.
0:11:33 > 0:11:36By now, though, her hair was running out of space!
0:11:36 > 0:11:40With her mum chasing and waving a brush at her hair,
0:11:40 > 0:11:42Holly continued completely unaware
0:11:42 > 0:11:47that behind her were turkeys calling out, "Gobble! Gobble!"
0:11:47 > 0:11:50Jumping on her head, they made Holly wobble.
0:11:50 > 0:11:53But that was nothing compared to what was to come
0:11:53 > 0:11:56as Holly cried out for her comb and her mum.
0:11:56 > 0:12:00From behind her a peacock leapt into the air
0:12:00 > 0:12:03and landed right in her messy red hair.
0:12:03 > 0:12:07Obviously this all came as a bit of a shock.
0:12:07 > 0:12:10There really was no room for a large peacock.
0:12:10 > 0:12:13As Holly lay there, squashed on the floor,
0:12:13 > 0:12:16she couldn't avoid it, not any more.
0:12:16 > 0:12:21"You can brush my hair now, Mum. I've decided to give in," she said,
0:12:21 > 0:12:24looking up from the ground with a cheeky grin.
0:12:24 > 0:12:29That story was called The Girl With The Bird's Nest Hair.
0:12:29 > 0:12:32Have you brushed your hair ready to go to bed?
0:12:32 > 0:12:37Well, I need to finish brushing mine so it looks perfect tomorrow.
0:12:37 > 0:12:40While I do, it's time for you to go to sleep.
0:12:40 > 0:12:44I'll see you for another story. Night night.
0:12:44 > 0:12:46Now, how far did I get to?
0:12:46 > 0:12:49Erm, I've forgotten. I'll have to start again.
0:12:49 > 0:12:52One, two...
