0:06:02 > 0:06:07CBeebies Bedtime Story!
0:06:07 > 0:06:11Arr! There must be treasure around here some place!
0:06:11 > 0:06:13Ho ho ho! Oh, hello!
0:06:13 > 0:06:19I'm Toby. In fact, I'm Pirate Toby, and I'm looking for some treasure.
0:06:19 > 0:06:21Do you know where it's hidden?
0:06:21 > 0:06:26In tonight's Bedtime Story, Flinn - I mean, Captain Flinn -
0:06:26 > 0:06:28is looking for some treasure,
0:06:28 > 0:06:32and it's called Captain Flinn And The Pirate Dinosaurs:
0:06:32 > 0:06:38Missing Treasure, by Giles Andreae and Russell Ayto.
0:06:38 > 0:06:41Flinn loves dinosaurs.
0:06:41 > 0:06:45Tomorrow is a very special day, because Flinn's teacher,
0:06:45 > 0:06:48Miss Pie, is taking his class to see
0:06:48 > 0:06:51the dinosaur skeletons at the museum.
0:06:51 > 0:06:53"Here we are," said Miss Pie.
0:06:53 > 0:06:58"Now, remember, stay together, and don't touch anything!"
0:06:58 > 0:07:02Flinn's class followed the museum guide to the skeleton room.
0:07:02 > 0:07:07"This is the Gigantosaurus," said the guide. "He was even bigger
0:07:07 > 0:07:11"and more ferocious than the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex."
0:07:11 > 0:07:14In the next room, there was a big glass case,
0:07:14 > 0:07:16but it was completely empty.
0:07:16 > 0:07:19"It used to hold treasure of the famous pirate captain
0:07:19 > 0:07:22"Rufus Rumblebelly,
0:07:22 > 0:07:27"but it was stolen last night." "Real pirate treasure!"
0:07:27 > 0:07:31said Flinn, who liked pirates just as much as dinosaurs.
0:07:31 > 0:07:33"But who could have stolen it?"
0:07:33 > 0:07:38"Look," said Tom, "Maybe these peculiar feathers are a clue."
0:07:38 > 0:07:40"They seem to be leading to that cupboard," said Pearl.
0:07:40 > 0:07:42"Let's follow them," said Violet.
0:07:42 > 0:07:47So Flinn and his friends quietly opened the door and slipped through.
0:07:47 > 0:07:50At that moment, the back of the cupboard fell away,
0:07:50 > 0:07:54and Flinn and his friends all tumbled out into the captain's
0:07:54 > 0:07:56cabin of an old-fashioned pirate ship!
0:07:56 > 0:08:02"Help! Help!" shrieked a pirate, who was tied to a table.
0:08:02 > 0:08:03"My treasure!
0:08:03 > 0:08:05"They've stolen my treasure!"
0:08:05 > 0:08:09"What treasure?" asked Flinn, as he quickly untied the pirate.
0:08:09 > 0:08:13"Why, the famous treasure of Rufus Rumblebelly," said the pirate.
0:08:13 > 0:08:18"I'm Gordon Gurgleguts, and Rufus Rumblebelly was my granddaddy.
0:08:18 > 0:08:22"I took the treasure from the museum just to have a look,
0:08:22 > 0:08:25"but then someone stole it from me!"
0:08:25 > 0:08:29"That's amazing," said Flinn. "We're looking for the treasure, too.
0:08:29 > 0:08:31"We'll help you find it.
0:08:31 > 0:08:35"But only if you promise to take it straight back to the museum."
0:08:35 > 0:08:39"All right," said Gurgleguts. "I promise.
0:08:39 > 0:08:43"And why don't you be our captain? Here, take my hat."
0:08:43 > 0:08:47So Captain Flinn took the helm. "Island ahoy!"
0:08:47 > 0:08:50shouted Pirate Violet from the crow's nest.
0:08:50 > 0:08:53"Follow me, everyone," said Captain Flinn.
0:08:53 > 0:08:56"There's thick jungle ahead, and we don't want anyone to get lost.
0:08:56 > 0:09:01"Gurgleguts? Gurgleguts?! Where are you?!"
0:09:01 > 0:09:06"Wait," said Pirate Pearl. "What's that noise?"
0:09:06 > 0:09:10"Roooooooooooar!"
0:09:10 > 0:09:12In front of them was a clearing.
0:09:12 > 0:09:15Captain Flinn peered into it and shuddered.
0:09:15 > 0:09:18"Pirates," he said.
0:09:18 > 0:09:20"But they're not just ordinary pirates -
0:09:20 > 0:09:25"they're...pirate dinosaurs!"
0:09:25 > 0:09:29Beside the pirate dinosaurs was a huge pile of gleaming treasure.
0:09:29 > 0:09:34And next to the treasure, tied up from head to foot, was Gurgleguts!
0:09:34 > 0:09:38The pirate dinosaurs were singing a terrible song.
0:09:38 > 0:09:40# We're stolen all the treasure
0:09:40 > 0:09:42# We'll use it at our leisure
0:09:42 > 0:09:44# And won't it be a pleasure
0:09:44 > 0:09:46# For us all to live like kings?
0:09:46 > 0:09:48# And don't think we've forgotten
0:09:48 > 0:09:50# That this pirate's rather rotten
0:09:50 > 0:09:51# So let's barbecue his bottom
0:09:51 > 0:09:54# With some spicy chicken wings! #
0:09:54 > 0:09:59"Stop!" yelled Captain Flinn. "Untie my friend immediately!"
0:09:59 > 0:10:02"We couldn't possibly do that," said Tyrannosaurus Rex,
0:10:02 > 0:10:07squeezing a huge dollop of tomato ketchup onto Gurgleguts' head.
0:10:07 > 0:10:11"Well, then, you slimy, seafaring sausages,"
0:10:11 > 0:10:13said Captain Flinn, drawing his cutlass.
0:10:13 > 0:10:17"You nasty, noodle-brained nincompoops, you dirty,
0:10:17 > 0:10:19"dastardly dunderheads -
0:10:19 > 0:10:23"you're going to have to eat me first! Attack!"
0:10:23 > 0:10:26Smash! Swoosh! Crash!
0:10:26 > 0:10:30Suddenly, Captain Flinn took a huge swipe at the Tyrannosaurus Rex
0:10:30 > 0:10:34and pinned him up against the tree. Pow!
0:10:34 > 0:10:37"Please spare me!" said the Tyrannosaurus Rex,
0:10:37 > 0:10:42"and I promise to be the goodest goodie in the whole world ever!"
0:10:42 > 0:10:46"You great big fibber," said Captain Flinn.
0:10:46 > 0:10:49"Fibber, eh?" said the Tyrannosaurus Rex angrily.
0:10:49 > 0:10:54"Well, then, I think it's time you met my cousin."
0:10:54 > 0:10:56The ground began to shake,
0:10:56 > 0:10:59and an enormous shadow fell over the island.
0:10:59 > 0:11:02There was the hugest, fiercest,
0:11:02 > 0:11:07most terrifying-loooking dinosaur in the whole world!
0:11:07 > 0:11:11"Gulp!" said Captain Flinn. "Who are you?"
0:11:12 > 0:11:16"I'm Gigantosaurus," roared the dinosaur.
0:11:16 > 0:11:21"Nothing in the whole world ever frightens me!"
0:11:21 > 0:11:25Then suddenly, "Aaaaagh!" cried Gigantosaurus.
0:11:25 > 0:11:27"Spider! Help!"
0:11:27 > 0:11:32A tiny spider was hanging from Captain Flinn's pirate hat.
0:11:32 > 0:11:35"Well, shiver me timbers," said Flinn.
0:11:35 > 0:11:40"Fancy a big, old dinosaur being scared of a teeny, weeny spider!"
0:11:40 > 0:11:43"They're just so creepy and crawly!" wailed the Gigantosaurus.
0:11:43 > 0:11:47"Keep him away from me, pleeeease!"
0:11:47 > 0:11:50In all the commotion, Captain Flinn saw his chance.
0:11:50 > 0:11:53He quickly freed Gurgleguts, and, in a flash,
0:11:53 > 0:11:58all the pirate dinosaurs and the Gigantosaurus were tightly tied up.
0:11:58 > 0:12:01"Quick, gang," he said. "Let's get back to the ship.
0:12:01 > 0:12:03"It's time to go home."
0:12:03 > 0:12:07And off they all sailed. "Land ahoy!" cried Violet.
0:12:07 > 0:12:10So the children hugged Gurgleguts goodbye.
0:12:10 > 0:12:13Then, one by one, they clambered through the ship,
0:12:13 > 0:12:17into the open cupboard, and back into the museum.
0:12:17 > 0:12:20"Wherever have you been?" said Miss Pie.
0:12:20 > 0:12:23"We found the missing treasure," said Flinn.
0:12:23 > 0:12:26"My goodness!" said the museum guide.
0:12:26 > 0:12:29"Well done! But who stole it?"
0:12:29 > 0:12:31"It's a long story," said Flinn,
0:12:31 > 0:12:33"but it ended up in the hands of pirates.
0:12:33 > 0:12:38"Oh, and they weren't just pirates. They were pirate dinosaurs."
0:12:38 > 0:12:41"Pirate dinosaurs?!" laughed the guide.
0:12:41 > 0:12:44"Just for your information," added Flinn,
0:12:44 > 0:12:47"I can tell you something about Gigantosaurus.
0:12:47 > 0:12:52"He was frightened of spiders. Very frightened indeed."
0:12:53 > 0:12:56So Flinn and his friends found the treasure,
0:12:56 > 0:13:00and whilst I look for my treasure, it's time for you to go to bed.
0:13:00 > 0:13:03I'll see you soon for another Bedtime Story.
0:13:03 > 0:13:04Night, night.
0:13:05 > 0:13:11Now, where shall I look? I know, over there.
