0:29:22 > 0:29:26and it's called A New Home For Little Fox,

0:29:26 > 0:29:30by Janet Bingham and Rosalind Beardshaw.

0:29:30 > 0:29:32Little Fox was making music.

0:29:32 > 0:29:35"La, la, la," he sang.

0:29:35 > 0:29:38"Shhh," said Daddy Fox. "Listen."

0:29:38 > 0:29:41Little Fox stopped singing.

0:29:41 > 0:29:44- WHISTLES - ..Sang the trees, sweetly.

0:29:44 > 0:29:49"What's that?" asked Little Fox. "Is the tree making music too?"

0:29:49 > 0:29:51"It's Mrs Finch," replied Daddy Fox.

0:29:51 > 0:29:54"She's singing her nest-building song."

0:29:54 > 0:29:57"Can I see?" asked Little Fox.

0:29:57 > 0:30:00Daddy Fox lifted him up, higher and higher,

0:30:00 > 0:30:03until he could see the little twiggy nest.

0:30:03 > 0:30:06- Just then, a nut landed... - CLICKS TONGUE

0:30:06 > 0:30:08..on Little Fox's head.

0:30:08 > 0:30:10"Whoops," chuckled Daddy Fox.

0:30:10 > 0:30:14"That's the trouble with trees, things drop out of them."

0:30:14 > 0:30:19"It's Squirrel," said Little Fox. "Is she building a nest too?"

0:30:19 > 0:30:22"She's spring cleaning," said Daddy Fox.

0:30:22 > 0:30:27"Everyone starts thinking about their nests and dens in the spring.

0:30:27 > 0:30:30"They make new ones or tidy up their old ones."

0:30:30 > 0:30:33"We can make a new home too," said Little Fox.

0:30:33 > 0:30:36"Let's build a nest high up in the tree."

0:30:36 > 0:30:39"Trees are too high," smiled Daddy Fox.

0:30:39 > 0:30:43"They wobble and sway. We might fall out of them like nuts."

0:30:43 > 0:30:47"I don't want to fall like a nut, but it's fun to roll like one,"

0:30:47 > 0:30:52giggles Little Fox, and away they tumbled, straight into a bush.

0:30:52 > 0:30:57"Oh!" groaned Daddy Fox. "I'm seeing stars."

0:30:57 > 0:31:01"They're not stars, they're butterflies," laughed Little Fox.

0:31:01 > 0:31:05"Let's make our new home here, in the butterfly flowers."

0:31:05 > 0:31:11He leaned over to smell the blossom and yelped, "Ouch! Prickles!"

0:31:11 > 0:31:13Daddy Fox hugged him.

0:31:13 > 0:31:16"It wouldn't be very comfortable to live here," he said.

0:31:16 > 0:31:21Little Fox scampered ahead. "Daddy, I found a mouse's house,"

0:31:21 > 0:31:24he whispered. "Perhaps we could live down here."

0:31:24 > 0:31:28"We're too big and noisy," Daddy Fox whispered back.

0:31:28 > 0:31:33"We'd spoil mouse's hideaway." But Little Fox wasn't listening.

0:31:33 > 0:31:37A dragonfly skimmed past his nose and he was off,

0:31:37 > 0:31:40chasing and racing over the soft grass.

0:31:40 > 0:31:43Daddy Fox caught up with him at the stream.

0:31:43 > 0:31:46"This is where fish live," said Daddy Fox.

0:31:46 > 0:31:49Little Fox dabbled at the water.

0:31:49 > 0:31:51"I'm glad I don't live in here," he said.

0:31:51 > 0:31:56"It's wet, cold and runny." "Like your nose," teased Daddy Fox.

0:31:56 > 0:32:01Little Fox splashed him. "Like your nose," he giggled.

0:32:01 > 0:32:04All of a sudden, a dome of crumbly earth popped up

0:32:04 > 0:32:07with a little pink nose poking out of the top.

0:32:07 > 0:32:12"What is it?" asked Little Fox. "It's Mr Mole," said Daddy Fox.

0:32:12 > 0:32:14"He's tiding his tunnels."

0:32:14 > 0:32:18Mr Mole's nose disappeared back into the molehill.

0:32:18 > 0:32:22"I wouldn't want to live down there," said Little Fox.

0:32:22 > 0:32:26"It's too dark for me," and off he ran to the meadow.

0:32:26 > 0:32:30"Look," said Daddy Fox. "Rabbit holes and lots of rabbits."

0:32:30 > 0:32:35"One, two, three," counted Little Fox. "I can see ten."

0:32:35 > 0:32:39"It must be very crowded in their house," said Daddy Fox.

0:32:39 > 0:32:44"Come on, it's time to go," and they raced away towards home.

0:32:44 > 0:32:47Little Fox peered into their den.

0:32:47 > 0:32:52"Our home might get crowded too," he frowned. "It looks very small."

0:32:52 > 0:32:56"That's because you've grown so big," laughed Daddy Fox.

0:32:56 > 0:32:59"It's time for us to move to a new home now,"

0:32:59 > 0:33:01and that's just what they did.

0:33:01 > 0:33:07They dug and dug all afternoon, until at last they were finished.

0:33:07 > 0:33:11"I'm glad our new home isn't high up in a tree or in a prickly bush,"

0:33:11 > 0:33:16said Little Fox. "Or in a cold, wet stream, or a mouse's house,

0:33:16 > 0:33:17"or a dark molehill."

0:33:17 > 0:33:22"Or in a busy rabbit warren," smiled Daddy Fox.

0:33:22 > 0:33:26That night, Little Fox peeped out of their newly dug den.

0:33:26 > 0:33:29"This home is just right," he sighed happily.

0:33:29 > 0:33:33"Yes," agreed Daddy Fox, hugging him close.

0:33:33 > 0:33:39"It's the best home of all, for me and my own little fox."

0:33:40 > 0:33:45So, a fox lives in a cosy den.

0:33:45 > 0:33:48It's now time for you to go to sleep.

0:33:48 > 0:33:52I'll see you soon for another bedtime story. Night, night.
