0:15:06 > 0:15:10If I fold this piece over here

0:15:10 > 0:15:14and this piece over here...

0:15:14 > 0:15:17Oh, hello!

0:15:17 > 0:15:21I'm Toby and I'm just trying to make a super-duper paper aeroplane

0:15:21 > 0:15:25that can loop the loop. But I'm not having much luck.

0:15:25 > 0:15:29There is an aeroplane in tonight's bedtime story

0:15:29 > 0:15:34and it's called Farmyard Flyers by Mike Bostock.

0:15:34 > 0:15:40On Flippity Farm, Farmer Jolly's jobs were in a muddle.

0:15:40 > 0:15:43One by one, the animals began to notice.

0:15:43 > 0:15:49Pig looked up from his aeroplane story. "Where's my straw?"

0:15:49 > 0:15:51he said, peering at his lemonade.

0:15:51 > 0:15:56"Hey" honked the geese. "Who shut the gate?"

0:15:56 > 0:16:01Over in the meadow, no-one fed Sheep. "This just won't do," she sighed.

0:16:01 > 0:16:03Cow shook her head.

0:16:03 > 0:16:09"This isn't my dinner," she huffed. "No sirree."

0:16:09 > 0:16:12But Farmer Jolly didn't notice.

0:16:12 > 0:16:16He was too tired. That night, Pig couldn't sleep.

0:16:16 > 0:16:19He read his book. He counted stars.

0:16:19 > 0:16:23Then he heard a noise from inside the big red barn.

0:16:23 > 0:16:27"There it goes again!" he said.

0:16:27 > 0:16:31He'd heard the noise before. Tap, tap, tap!

0:16:31 > 0:16:34Pig peeped through a gap in the boards.

0:16:34 > 0:16:39Farmer Jolly was busy fixing something.

0:16:39 > 0:16:43"So that's why he's tired," said Pig.

0:16:43 > 0:16:47Early next morning, Pig gathered the other animals.

0:16:47 > 0:16:52"Farmer Jolly needs help," he said, "and I've got a plan."

0:16:52 > 0:16:57Under the shady sycamore tree, Pig drew in the mud with a pointy stick.

0:16:57 > 0:16:59When everyone knew what to do,

0:16:59 > 0:17:03Cow scuffed the drawing out with her feet.

0:17:03 > 0:17:05"Keep it secret!" whispered Sheep.

0:17:05 > 0:17:08"Yup sirree," nodded Cow.

0:17:08 > 0:17:13As the sun came up, Pig rolled into action.

0:17:13 > 0:17:17From the payphone by the bridge on Crimson Creek,

0:17:17 > 0:17:19he dialled Farmer Jolly's number.

0:17:19 > 0:17:23"Hello?" said Pig, disguising his voice.

0:17:23 > 0:17:27"Urgent. Goose loose, far side of Flippity Farm."

0:17:27 > 0:17:31"Goose loose?" yawned sleepy Farmer Jolly.

0:17:31 > 0:17:35"I'll be right there."

0:17:35 > 0:17:38He put down his tools and jumped straight onto his tractor.

0:17:38 > 0:17:41"It worked!" giggled the animals.

0:17:41 > 0:17:45As soon as Farmer Jolly was out of sight, they scooted up the hill

0:17:45 > 0:17:49to see what he'd been fixing in the big red barn.

0:17:49 > 0:17:53They poked their heads round the big barn door.

0:17:53 > 0:17:55"It's an aeroplane!" Pig said.

0:17:55 > 0:17:57"Let's get busy," said Pig.

0:17:57 > 0:18:00"If we fix it, the jobs won't be in a muddle any more."

0:18:00 > 0:18:03"Good plan," said Sheep.

0:18:03 > 0:18:06"Yup sirree," nodded Cow.

0:18:06 > 0:18:08Pig read the instructions

0:18:08 > 0:18:11and he sawed while the geese glued

0:18:11 > 0:18:14and Cow patched and Sheep painted,

0:18:14 > 0:18:18until Farmer Jolly's aeroplane was fixed and ready to fly.

0:18:18 > 0:18:23Pig was excited. "Coming for a spin?" he called.

0:18:23 > 0:18:26They all piled in, and Pig revved the engine.

0:18:26 > 0:18:30"It looked easier in my book!" he yelled, as they wobbled and weaved.

0:18:30 > 0:18:36"Ooh sirree!" said Cow as they spluttered and juddered.

0:18:36 > 0:18:41"Quack!" squawked the ducks, as the plane splashed into the pond.

0:18:41 > 0:18:45When Farmer Jolly came back from his wild goose chase,

0:18:45 > 0:18:46he couldn't believe his eyes.

0:18:46 > 0:18:50"Sorry," said a very soggy Pig.

0:18:50 > 0:18:54"I'd better have a look," sighed Farmer Jolly.

0:18:54 > 0:18:58He got back on his tractor and pulled the aeroplane out of the pond.

0:18:58 > 0:19:02He patted the wings and tapped the wheels and looked into the cockpit.

0:19:02 > 0:19:06"You should have asked before you took it," he said.

0:19:06 > 0:19:08"But you've done a very good job. Thank you.

0:19:08 > 0:19:10"And now I really must go to sleep."

0:19:10 > 0:19:14Pig had a think about what Farmer Jolly had said.

0:19:14 > 0:19:17And then he came up with one last plan.

0:19:17 > 0:19:21He fed Sheep from the meadow and opened the gates for the geese.

0:19:21 > 0:19:23He gave Cow the right dinner

0:19:23 > 0:19:28and found a straw for his lemonade all by himself.

0:19:28 > 0:19:32When he woke, none of Farmer Jolly's jobs were in a muddle.

0:19:32 > 0:19:34He was delighted.

0:19:34 > 0:19:37"What a wonderful surprise!" he said.

0:19:37 > 0:19:40"I didn't think we would be ready in time."

0:19:40 > 0:19:42"Ready in time for what?" asked Pig.

0:19:42 > 0:19:47"A-ha!" said Farmer Jolly. "Now I have a surprise for you.

0:19:47 > 0:19:48"Jump in."

0:19:48 > 0:19:50And as a special treat,

0:19:50 > 0:19:54Farmer Jolly flew all the animals to the air show at Morgan's Field.

0:19:54 > 0:19:57"Hold tight!" he said, and together,

0:19:57 > 0:20:02the Farmyard Flyers looped the loop high above the cheering crowd.

0:20:02 > 0:20:05"Whee-hee!" said Pig.

0:20:05 > 0:20:10Everyone agreed. It was the best flying display they had ever seen.

0:20:10 > 0:20:14The judges clapped and gave a standing ovation.

0:20:14 > 0:20:18"Farmer Jolly wins first prize," they said.

0:20:18 > 0:20:20"Woo-hoo!" said the animals

0:20:20 > 0:20:23as they flew home to Flippity Farm.

0:20:23 > 0:20:27Farmer Jolly let Pig take the controls.

0:20:27 > 0:20:29"Hold her steady now," he said.

0:20:29 > 0:20:31It took a while for Pig to answer.

0:20:31 > 0:20:35"I can do it!" he said quietly.

0:20:35 > 0:20:38"I can really fly!"

0:20:40 > 0:20:45Now, let's see if my aeroplane will fly just like Farmer Jolly's.

0:20:49 > 0:20:52Well, maybe not quite as well.

0:20:52 > 0:20:57Perhaps I'll try again. And whilst I do, it's time for you to go to bed.

0:20:57 > 0:21:01I'll see you soon for another bedtime story. Night-night.
