0:07:06 > 0:07:09Hmm, did I put it here?
0:07:09 > 0:07:11No.
0:07:11 > 0:07:15I wonder if I put it over here.
0:07:16 > 0:07:18No.
0:07:18 > 0:07:22Hello! I'm Floella, and I have lost something.
0:07:22 > 0:07:24I can't remember what it is.
0:07:24 > 0:07:28But when I find it, I'll certainly know what it is!
0:07:28 > 0:07:30Have you ever lost something?
0:07:30 > 0:07:36Well, Max, the cool cat in tonight's bedtime story, has lost something.
0:07:36 > 0:07:38Let's find out what he's lost.
0:07:38 > 0:07:43The story is by Graham Marsh and it's called Max And The Lost Note.
0:07:43 > 0:07:47This is Max. He's a cat who plays piano.
0:07:47 > 0:07:50Max is a sharp dresser.
0:07:50 > 0:07:57Some cats say he's as dapper as Dan and as hip as Harry!
0:07:57 > 0:08:01That means he's a very cooool cat indeed.
0:08:01 > 0:08:04One day, Max was writing a new tune.
0:08:04 > 0:08:06Music filled the room
0:08:06 > 0:08:11and the notes were falling from the piano like snowflakes,
0:08:11 > 0:08:14when suddenly...he stopped.
0:08:14 > 0:08:19Max had lost one of his notes and he could not finish the tune!
0:08:19 > 0:08:23Max looked everywhere for his lost note.
0:08:23 > 0:08:27He looked right, he looked up, he looked left.
0:08:27 > 0:08:31He scanned the whole room for the lost note.
0:08:31 > 0:08:36He even looked in the suitcase which he kept neatly packed in his room.
0:08:36 > 0:08:38"I know," thought Max,
0:08:38 > 0:08:42"I'll see if any of the other cats have found my lost note."
0:08:42 > 0:08:44So Max rode his scooter downtown,
0:08:44 > 0:08:49stopping at Kitties Place for a glass of milk and some catnip.
0:08:49 > 0:08:55At Kitties, he met The Felines. The Felines were a famous vocal group.
0:08:55 > 0:08:59There was Florence, Phoebe, Ella and Coco.
0:08:59 > 0:09:03They wore groovy clothes and were always singing.
0:09:03 > 0:09:06Max asked The Felines to sing for him.
0:09:06 > 0:09:10Perhaps his lost note was hidden in one of their songs.
0:09:10 > 0:09:16# Shoo-ba, shoo-ba, boo-ba, woo-ah Shoo-oop, shoo-bah, woo-ah, wah! #
0:09:16 > 0:09:19No luck. The note was not there.
0:09:19 > 0:09:20Then Coco said,
0:09:20 > 0:09:25"Try Long Tall Dexter. He has plenty of notes."
0:09:25 > 0:09:30Max told Long Tall Dexter about his lost note.
0:09:30 > 0:09:34"Well, let me see," whispered Dexter,
0:09:34 > 0:09:38"I'll play something for you on my saxophone
0:09:38 > 0:09:41"and we'll see if it's there."
0:09:41 > 0:09:47# Bam-bam-bam-wam! Wah-wam-wah! #
0:09:47 > 0:09:50But when he finished playing,
0:09:50 > 0:09:54Max said, "Ooh, that was a solid tune, Dexter,
0:09:54 > 0:09:56"but my lost note isn't there."
0:09:56 > 0:10:01"Now, listen, Max, my furry little friend," said Dexter,
0:10:01 > 0:10:06"I know three cats called Miles, Oliver and Charlie
0:10:06 > 0:10:11"who might just know the whereabouts of your lost note.
0:10:11 > 0:10:14"Tell them Long Tall Dexter sent you."
0:10:14 > 0:10:20As it was such a warm, sunny day, Max left his scooter and red jacket
0:10:20 > 0:10:23at Dexter's house and decided to walk.
0:10:23 > 0:10:25Max met up with Dexter's cats.
0:10:25 > 0:10:28There was Miles, who played the trumpet,
0:10:28 > 0:10:33Oliver who was a drummer, and Charlie who played a mean guitar.
0:10:33 > 0:10:36They played some funky music for Max.
0:10:36 > 0:10:42# Dung-a-nun-a-nun-lung-da-dung! Nung-a-lun-a-dung-din-ah-ah-ah! #
0:10:42 > 0:10:45But, sadly, his lost note was not there.
0:10:45 > 0:10:50Max was beginning to think he would never find his lost note.
0:10:50 > 0:10:56Then he saw his neighbour, Rita, sitting on a bench playing her flute.
0:10:56 > 0:10:59"Ooh, what's happened, Max?" she asked.
0:10:59 > 0:11:02"I've lost a note," replied Max.
0:11:02 > 0:11:04"Is it this one?" Rita asked,
0:11:04 > 0:11:08and she played a beautiful melody on her flute.
0:11:08 > 0:11:15# Whoo-woo-woo-woo-whee! Hoo-hoo-whoo-hoo-hooooo! #
0:11:15 > 0:11:20"Oh, I wish it was," said Max, "That was sweet."
0:11:20 > 0:11:27Suddenly Rita had a thought. "Go and see my friend Sam," she said.
0:11:27 > 0:11:29"He has a new double bass.
0:11:29 > 0:11:35"It's so big, your missing note might just have landed there."
0:11:35 > 0:11:40Now Sam, like Max, was a very cool cat indeed.
0:11:40 > 0:11:47He had a different hat for every day of the week. That's a total of seven!
0:11:47 > 0:11:50The mellow notes coming from Sam's double bass
0:11:50 > 0:11:52made Max feel very relaxed.
0:11:52 > 0:11:58# Boom-boom-boom-boom-boom Boom-boom-boom-boom-boom! #
0:11:58 > 0:12:05"Oh, I love your music very much, Sam, but my lost note isn't there."
0:12:05 > 0:12:10Max walked home. On the way, he listened to the sounds of the city.
0:12:10 > 0:12:15The birds, the cars, the buses, even the fat cat selling newspapers.
0:12:15 > 0:12:18There was a kind of music in everything
0:12:18 > 0:12:21if you took time out to listen.
0:12:21 > 0:12:26# Whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo-whoo! # # Beep-beep-beep! #
0:12:26 > 0:12:28# Urh-urh! # # Paper! Papers here! #
0:12:28 > 0:12:33Max heard all the different notes the city had to offer.
0:12:33 > 0:12:35All except the one he had lost.
0:12:35 > 0:12:40When Max got home, he sat down and he kicked off his shoes.
0:12:40 > 0:12:45Suddenly he saw something that made him nearly jump out of his seat!
0:12:45 > 0:12:49There, stuck to the sole of one shoe, was his lost note.
0:12:49 > 0:12:54He must have trodden on it while he was writing his new tune.
0:12:54 > 0:12:59"So," though Max, "The note wasn't lost after all,
0:12:59 > 0:13:02"it was just missing!"
0:13:02 > 0:13:05Now Max could finish his tune.
0:13:05 > 0:13:11All the cats joined in, and they sang and played for hours!
0:13:11 > 0:13:15Max was one happy coooooool cat!
0:13:15 > 0:13:18# Diddle-ing-ding-ding! #
0:13:18 > 0:13:22And that story was called Max And The Lost Note.
0:13:22 > 0:13:25Ah, that's what I lost, the radio!
0:13:25 > 0:13:30I wanted to listen to some music before I went to bed.
0:13:30 > 0:13:32Now, where is it?
0:13:32 > 0:13:33Under you? No!
0:13:33 > 0:13:36I just need to keep looking,
0:13:36 > 0:13:40and while I do it's time for you to go to bed
0:13:40 > 0:13:45and I'll see you very soon for another bedtime story.
0:13:45 > 0:13:48Night-night and sweet dreams. Bye!
0:13:48 > 0:13:53Ah, maybe it's in the kitchen. Why didn't I think of that?
