0:28:50 > 0:28:57.
0:29:04 > 0:29:07What can I have for tea? Let's look in the cupboards.
0:29:07 > 0:29:10Noodles. What about this cupboard?
0:29:12 > 0:29:13Noodles.
0:29:14 > 0:29:18Oh, hello. I'm Richard. I'm trying to decide what to have for tea,
0:29:18 > 0:29:22but all I can find is noodles. Look.
0:29:22 > 0:29:25There's noodles in the cupboards, noodles in the pans,
0:29:25 > 0:29:30and there's even noodles in here. It's very odd.
0:29:30 > 0:29:34Maybe tonight's story can explain all these noodles.
0:29:34 > 0:29:37It's by Diana Hendry and Sarah Massini,
0:29:37 > 0:29:41and the story's called Oodles of Noodles.
0:29:41 > 0:29:46On her birthday, Mrs Mungo was given a pasta-making machine.
0:29:46 > 0:29:50"Noodles for dinner, noodles for tea, noodles for you and for me,"
0:29:50 > 0:29:56sang Mrs Mungo. "I like chips," said Lily. "And burgers," said Ben.
0:29:56 > 0:30:00Mrs Mungo put the pasta-making machine on the table,
0:30:00 > 0:30:03fetched a huge bowl and made a huge ball of pasta dough.
0:30:03 > 0:30:06"Noodles with garlic or with jam," she sang.
0:30:06 > 0:30:11"Chips with salt and vinegar," said Lily. "Burgers," said Ben.
0:30:11 > 0:30:13When Lily and Ben had gone to school,
0:30:13 > 0:30:16Mrs Mungo began rolling the pasta.
0:30:16 > 0:30:20It was hard work turning the handle and rolling the pasta thinner.
0:30:20 > 0:30:26"Never mind," said Mrs Mungo, "I'll soon have oodles of noodles,"
0:30:26 > 0:30:29and then something very strange happened.
0:30:29 > 0:30:32The pasta machine began working all by itself.
0:30:32 > 0:30:37Long loops of noodles rolled out of the machine.
0:30:37 > 0:30:42Very soon, Mrs Mungo was tucked up tight in a noodle sleeping bag.
0:30:42 > 0:30:46At school, there was noodles, onions and peas for lunch.
0:30:46 > 0:30:49Lily and Ben ate the onions and peas.
0:30:49 > 0:30:52At home the pasta machine worked faster and faster.
0:30:52 > 0:30:55Soon noodles twirled around the banisters,
0:30:55 > 0:30:59dangled from the shower rail and tied the TV in knots.
0:30:59 > 0:31:02Mrs Mungo struggled to free her arms.
0:31:02 > 0:31:08"Stop! Stop!" Mrs Mungo cried to the pasta machine, but it didn't.
0:31:08 > 0:31:11"There must be a magic word," thought Mrs Mungo.
0:31:11 > 0:31:13"Doodle!" she shouted.
0:31:13 > 0:31:17"Poodle and doodle and apple strudel!" she shouted,
0:31:17 > 0:31:20but the pasta machine took no notice.
0:31:20 > 0:31:24Instead the noodles slithered under the door and out down the path.
0:31:24 > 0:31:29Outside the house, noodles wound themselves round the garden gates,
0:31:29 > 0:31:33wriggled round lampposts and dangled from the trees.
0:31:33 > 0:31:38Soon, everyone came out to fill their saucepans with noodles.
0:31:38 > 0:31:42The noodles ran on until they reached the school.
0:31:42 > 0:31:46Children in the playground thought the noodles were wonderful.
0:31:46 > 0:31:50They made noodle skipping ropes and hoops, all of them,
0:31:50 > 0:31:52except Lily and Ben.
0:31:52 > 0:31:54"Noodles!" cried Ben.
0:31:54 > 0:31:58"Oodles and oodles and oodles of noodles!" cried Lily.
0:31:58 > 0:32:02"Quick, Ben, home! I think Mum needs us."
0:32:02 > 0:32:06And as fast as they could, Lily and Ben ran. It wasn't easy.
0:32:06 > 0:32:10They tripped over noodles and noodle collectors.
0:32:10 > 0:32:14In the kitchen, the machine was still making noodles.
0:32:14 > 0:32:19All they could see was their mother's head. She was noodled.
0:32:19 > 0:32:22"It won't stop!" wept Mrs Mungo,
0:32:22 > 0:32:26"All I said was oodles of noodles and it noodled and noodled!
0:32:26 > 0:32:28"I tried every magic word I know."
0:32:28 > 0:32:33"I don't suppose you tried saying it the other way round?" asked Ben.
0:32:33 > 0:32:36"I didn't think of that," said his mum.
0:32:36 > 0:32:39So altogether and very loudly they said,
0:32:39 > 0:32:41"Noodles aboodles!"
0:32:41 > 0:32:45and with a groan of relief, the pasta machine stopped.
0:32:45 > 0:32:49Ben and Lily unwrapped their mum. She flopped in a chair
0:32:49 > 0:32:52as Lily wound the noodles into a big ball.
0:32:52 > 0:32:55"I suppose it's noodles for tea," said Lily.
0:32:55 > 0:32:57"Oh, no." said Mrs Mungo.
0:32:57 > 0:33:02"It isn't. It's chips. Chips and burgers."
0:33:02 > 0:33:06And that story was called Oodles of Noodles.
0:33:06 > 0:33:08Well, that explains everything.
0:33:08 > 0:33:11Mrs Mungo has been busy with her pasta machine.
0:33:11 > 0:33:14So it looks like noodles are for tea.
0:33:14 > 0:33:16But I can't eat all of these.
0:33:16 > 0:33:20While I have my tea, it's time for you guys to go to bed.
0:33:20 > 0:33:24I'll see you soon for another bedtime story. Night, night.
0:33:24 > 0:33:28Now...where do I start?
