0:21:44 > 0:21:49"I saw a girl playing with wolves.

0:21:49 > 0:21:52"I sang the princess's favourite song

0:21:58 > 0:22:00"But now you have found me."

0:22:00 > 0:22:06"She gave me this button, for faithfulness."

0:22:06 > 0:22:09Daisy's eyes were already closed.

0:22:09 > 0:22:14Floot's musical voice had sung her to sleep.

0:22:14 > 0:22:17The following night, Daisy lay awake.

0:22:17 > 0:22:20wondering if a story would begin.

0:22:20 > 0:22:22Something rustled.

0:22:41 > 0:22:44She put on her bedside light and slowly,

0:22:44 > 0:22:48very slowly, looked under her bed

0:22:48 > 0:22:50and saw...

0:22:50 > 0:22:54The Beasties!

0:22:54 > 0:22:56Daisy opened her mouth to scream,

0:22:56 > 0:22:58but she didn't,

0:22:58 > 0:23:01because The Beasties

0:23:01 > 0:23:05were very, very small.

0:23:05 > 0:23:08"Don't be afraid," said one.

0:23:08 > 0:23:10"We're storytellers.

0:23:10 > 0:23:14"My name is Weevil."

0:23:14 > 0:23:18"I'm Floot," piped the next Beastie.

0:23:18 > 0:23:22"And I'm Ferdinand," growled the last.

0:23:22 > 0:23:27"Don't tell anyone you've seen us."

0:23:27 > 0:23:29"I won't," said Daisy.

0:23:29 > 0:23:32"But please, can I have another story?"

0:23:33 > 0:23:36Floot looked thoughtful.

0:23:36 > 0:23:41"I think you can tell your own story," he said,

0:23:41 > 0:23:44and he held out a shell.

0:23:45 > 0:23:47"All by myself?"

0:23:47 > 0:23:49Daisy wasn't sure.

0:23:49 > 0:23:50At first,

0:23:50 > 0:23:53the shell looked very ordinary,

0:23:53 > 0:23:55but then, she put it to her ear

0:23:55 > 0:23:57and heard the sea.

0:23:57 > 0:24:03Daisy thought hard, then she said, slowly...

0:24:03 > 0:24:08"This shell belonged to a mermaid."

0:24:08 > 0:24:11"Where was the mermaid?" asked The Beasties.

0:24:11 > 0:24:14Daisy thought hard again.

0:24:15 > 0:24:18"She was in the sea

0:24:18 > 0:24:20"and the shell was in her hair.

0:24:21 > 0:24:25"She was crying, because she was caught in a net

0:24:25 > 0:24:30"and, so, I jumped onto a rock. I nearly fell,

0:24:30 > 0:24:34"but I took her hand and pulled her out."

0:24:34 > 0:24:37"The mermaid gave me the shell,

0:24:37 > 0:24:39"for saving her."

0:24:39 > 0:24:44Daisy smiled to herself and held the shell tight.

0:24:45 > 0:24:49She closed her eyes and dreamed she was the mermaid.

0:24:50 > 0:24:55"Night, night, Daisy," whispered The Beasties.

0:24:55 > 0:24:59"Your bed won't seem so big any more

0:24:59 > 0:25:03"and your room won't seem so strange.

0:25:03 > 0:25:07"You can tell your own stories now."

0:25:08 > 0:25:11And they crept out of her room.

0:25:13 > 0:25:16That story was called The Beasties.
