0:29:50 > 0:29:57.
0:30:07 > 0:30:12Look at all these buttons. Lots and lots of buttons everywhere.
0:30:12 > 0:30:14I wonder what they're for.
0:30:14 > 0:30:16Do you know, Owl?
0:30:16 > 0:30:19Oh, hello. I'm Shappi.
0:30:19 > 0:30:23I'm just asking Owl what these buttons are doing here.
0:30:23 > 0:30:26I wonder who they all belong to.
0:30:26 > 0:30:28What was that?
0:30:28 > 0:30:30These are magic buttons? Wow!
0:30:32 > 0:30:34Oh, I know who they belong to.
0:30:34 > 0:30:38They belong to the witch in tonight's bedtime story.
0:30:38 > 0:30:42It's called Witchety Sticks And The Magic Buttons, by Helen Stephens.
0:30:42 > 0:30:47This is a muddley-wuddley witch, called Witchety Sticks.
0:30:47 > 0:30:50And this is her friend, Woo.
0:30:50 > 0:30:54Witchety Sticks is no ordinary witch. Oh, no.
0:30:54 > 0:30:57She lives in a ramshackle shed, in a very tall tree
0:30:57 > 0:31:00and keeps magic buttons in her pocket.
0:31:00 > 0:31:06One day, Witchety Sticks woke up in her wonky wooden bed.
0:31:06 > 0:31:09She wiggled her toes, stretched her fingers
0:31:09 > 0:31:12and pulled on her woolly socks.
0:31:12 > 0:31:16"Time for a getting dressed button," she said.
0:31:16 > 0:31:21"Magic button, witchey woo, time to get dressed into something new."
0:31:21 > 0:31:24Up popped a pair of purple pantaloons.
0:31:24 > 0:31:27"Perfect!" said Witchety Sticks.
0:31:27 > 0:31:31She popped on her pantaloons and set off to find Woo.
0:31:31 > 0:31:35"Good morning, Woo," said Witchety Sticks. "Are you hungry?
0:31:35 > 0:31:39"It's time for a breakfast button.
0:31:39 > 0:31:45"Magic button, bish, bash, bam, let's have breakfast, eggs and ham."
0:31:45 > 0:31:50Up popped a chicken. It flapped its wings and started laying eggs,
0:31:50 > 0:31:53here, there and everywhere.
0:31:53 > 0:31:57"Witchety wow!" cried Witchety Sticks.
0:31:57 > 0:31:58"What a mess!"
0:31:58 > 0:32:02It was time for a spring-clean button.
0:32:02 > 0:32:07"Magic button, alakazam, let's make everything spick and span."
0:32:07 > 0:32:12Up sprang two mops and buckets, three feather dusters,
0:32:12 > 0:32:16four soapy sponges and a pair of washing-up gloves.
0:32:16 > 0:32:17Quickly, they got to work,
0:32:17 > 0:32:22dusting the dark corners, washing the dishes and scrubbing the floor.
0:32:22 > 0:32:26Then it was time for a rub-a-dub-dubbing.
0:32:26 > 0:32:28Even Woo was dipped in the soap suds.
0:32:28 > 0:32:33Before long, everything was hung out to dry.
0:32:33 > 0:32:35Then the magic ran out.
0:32:35 > 0:32:39The buckets, the dusters and the washing-up gloves vanished.
0:32:39 > 0:32:41Everything was calm,
0:32:41 > 0:32:47until, suddenly, a big gust of wind whistled through Muddly Woods
0:32:47 > 0:32:51and swept all the laundry into the tree tops and into the bushes.
0:32:51 > 0:32:57"Oh, dear," said Witchety Sticks, "what a muddle and a mess!"
0:32:57 > 0:33:01Quickly, Witchety Sticks and Woo untangled everything.
0:33:01 > 0:33:06Then, sniff, sniff, they heard a little noise,
0:33:06 > 0:33:11coming from under a pair of Witchety Sticks' old gardening trousers.
0:33:11 > 0:33:14It sounded like someone was crying.
0:33:14 > 0:33:18"Hello?" whispered Witchety Sticks in her kindest voice.
0:33:20 > 0:33:22"Are you all right in there?"
0:33:22 > 0:33:24There was a bit of rustling.
0:33:24 > 0:33:31And out stepped a very wet, very upset littlepotamus.
0:33:31 > 0:33:35"I'm lost," he sobbed.
0:33:35 > 0:33:42"I was...eating my breakfast, with my mamapotamus and my papapotamus,
0:33:42 > 0:33:47"when our house got dipped in the washing tub and hung out to dry.
0:33:47 > 0:33:53"Then a big gust of wind got me and now I can't find my house."
0:33:53 > 0:33:59"Don't worry," said Witchety Sticks, "I'll find your house.
0:33:59 > 0:34:01"What does it look like?"
0:34:01 > 0:34:06"It's stripy," sobbed Littlepotamus.
0:34:06 > 0:34:08"Stripy?" said Witchety Sticks.
0:34:08 > 0:34:11She searched in her pockets for a suitable button.
0:34:11 > 0:34:17"Magic button, witchety wows, bring Littlepotamus a stripy house."
0:34:17 > 0:34:20Up popped a stripy...
0:34:20 > 0:34:21sock.
0:34:21 > 0:34:25"Is this it?" asked Witchety Sticks.
0:34:25 > 0:34:28"No!" sniffed Littlepotamus.
0:34:28 > 0:34:31"My house is stripy and round."
0:34:31 > 0:34:34"Round?" said Witchety Sticks.
0:34:34 > 0:34:37She searched her pockets for just the right button.
0:34:37 > 0:34:44"Magic button, witchety wows, bring Littlepotamus a stripy round house."
0:34:44 > 0:34:47Up popped a stripy round hat.
0:34:47 > 0:34:51"Is this it?" asked Witchety Sticks.
0:34:51 > 0:34:55"No!" sniffed Littlepotamus, wiping his tears.
0:34:55 > 0:35:00"My house is stripy and round and it has a lovely yellow roof."
0:35:00 > 0:35:03"Oh, dear," sighed Witchety Sticks.
0:35:03 > 0:35:06Her magic just wasn't going right today.
0:35:06 > 0:35:09"I'll give it one last try.
0:35:09 > 0:35:12"Magic button, witchety wows,
0:35:12 > 0:35:16"make Littlepotamus the perfect round house."
0:35:16 > 0:35:19Up sprang a magic telescope.
0:35:19 > 0:35:25"I can't live in a telescope!" wailed Littlepotamus.
0:35:25 > 0:35:29"Now I'll never find my house."
0:35:29 > 0:35:32But Witchety Sticks had an idea.
0:35:32 > 0:35:36She held the magic telescope up to her eye.
0:35:36 > 0:35:41It twinkled and shone and spun round and round until she felt dizzy.
0:35:41 > 0:35:46Then she peered through the glass to see where the magic was pointing.
0:35:46 > 0:35:50She smiled. "Take a look, Littlepotamus."
0:35:50 > 0:35:55"That's it! That's it!" shouted Littlepotamus.
0:35:55 > 0:35:58"My stripy round house with a yellow roof.
0:35:58 > 0:36:01"And look, my mamapotamus and my papapotamus too!"
0:36:01 > 0:36:05"You live in my sewing box with the thimbles and threads,"
0:36:05 > 0:36:07cried Witchety Sticks happily.
0:36:07 > 0:36:12And she gave Littlepotamus a kiss on his tiny potamus nose.
0:36:12 > 0:36:17Witchety Sticks put the sewing box safely back on its usual shelf.
0:36:17 > 0:36:22Mamapotamus and Papapotamus gave Littlepotamus a big hug.
0:36:22 > 0:36:26Then Mamapotamus made a plate of pickled lily sandwiches.
0:36:26 > 0:36:30Papapotamus poured everyone a thimble of his bubbly bluebell brew
0:36:30 > 0:36:34and everyone had a very special tea.
0:36:34 > 0:36:39"All we need now, is a washing-up button," said Witchety Sticks.
0:36:39 > 0:36:44"Don't you think we've had enough magic for one day?" yawned Woo.
0:36:44 > 0:36:47For once, Witchety Sticks had to agree.
0:36:47 > 0:36:51So she popped the button in her pocket for another day.
0:36:51 > 0:36:56And that story was called Witchety Sticks And The Magic Buttons.
0:36:56 > 0:36:59I hope they get all that washing up done.
0:36:59 > 0:37:04Do you like magic? I hope that story worked its magic on you,
0:37:04 > 0:37:06and you're all cosy and ready for bed.
0:37:06 > 0:37:09It's time for me to say good night
0:37:09 > 0:37:13and I'll see you again soon, with another story.
0:37:13 > 0:37:14Night-night.
0:37:14 > 0:37:17I wonder if any of THESE buttons are magic.
