0:00:03 > 0:00:06CBeebies Bedtime Story!

0:00:08 > 0:00:09Oh!

0:00:12 > 0:00:15This doesn't belong here, this belongs in the kitchen.

0:00:15 > 0:00:19Sid must have been cooking in his sleep again.

0:00:19 > 0:00:21Oh, hello. I'm Tristan.

0:00:21 > 0:00:24I thought I'd make myself comfy on the CBeebies bed,

0:00:24 > 0:00:26ready to tell you a story,

0:00:26 > 0:00:30but it's all lumpy with things that don't belong here.

0:00:30 > 0:00:33And these books need putting away, too.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36I know someone else who's been finding things

0:00:36 > 0:00:38that don't belong in her bed.

0:00:38 > 0:00:42Her name is Suzy Sue, and she's in tonight's bedtime story.

0:00:42 > 0:00:45It's by Mij Kelly and Mary McQuillan,

0:00:45 > 0:00:48and the story is called A Bed Of Your Own.

0:00:50 > 0:00:53This is the story of Suzy Sue.

0:00:53 > 0:00:55Ready for bed, just like you.

0:00:57 > 0:01:00She brushed her teeth, she picked up her ted,

0:01:00 > 0:01:03she clambered and climbed into her bed.

0:01:03 > 0:01:09She yawned a huge yawn and turned out the light.

0:01:11 > 0:01:15But something, somewhere wasn't quite right.

0:01:17 > 0:01:21"I'm squished, I'm squashed, I'm uncomfy!" she said.

0:01:22 > 0:01:26"I think there's something wrong with the bed!"

0:01:26 > 0:01:31"I know," said the cow. "This bed's far too small.

0:01:31 > 0:01:35"I've tried and tried, but I can't sleep at all."

0:01:35 > 0:01:39Oh, what a shock! What a drama of dramas!

0:01:39 > 0:01:43A cow in the bed! A cow in pyjamas!

0:01:43 > 0:01:45COW MOOS

0:01:45 > 0:01:49"What are you doing?" said Suzy Sue.

0:01:49 > 0:01:53"What do you think?" said the cow, with a moo.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55"I'm trying to go to sleep, of course."

0:01:55 > 0:02:01"Oh, please do be quiet!" grumbled the horse.

0:02:01 > 0:02:03"How in the world can I get a nap

0:02:03 > 0:02:06"with the pair of you going yappity-yap?"

0:02:06 > 0:02:11Oh, what a shock! What a bolt from the blue!

0:02:11 > 0:02:14A horse in the bed, with his cuddly toys, too!

0:02:15 > 0:02:18And when Suzy Sue fell back in a heap,

0:02:18 > 0:02:24what she thought was a pillow was really a sheep!

0:02:25 > 0:02:28"How can I sleep? How can I doze?

0:02:28 > 0:02:32"Please, please, please let go of my nose!"

0:02:32 > 0:02:36Oh, what a shock! What a dreadful surprise!

0:02:36 > 0:02:40But by now, Suzy Sue was getting quite wise.

0:02:40 > 0:02:44She threw back the covers, she called loud and clear,

0:02:44 > 0:02:47"Are any more animals hiding in here?"

0:02:48 > 0:02:54"Just little me," somebody said, and Suzy Sue fell out of the bed.

0:02:54 > 0:02:57Goodness gracious, oh golly, oh gosh!

0:02:57 > 0:03:00No wonder the bed was a terrible squash!

0:03:00 > 0:03:03No wonder nobody could get any sleep,

0:03:03 > 0:03:06with a goat and a horse and a cow and a sheep.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09All tossing and turning, all hogging the covers,

0:03:09 > 0:03:13and fighting for pillows and kicking each other!

0:03:13 > 0:03:18"For goodness sake!" yawned Suzy Sue.

0:03:18 > 0:03:23"What on earth's got into you? Don't you have a bed of your own?"

0:03:23 > 0:03:28"We can't sleep there," said the sheep, with a groan!"

0:03:28 > 0:03:32"It's too hot!" "It's too cold!" "It's too dark!" "It's too light!"

0:03:32 > 0:03:36"There's something about it that isn't quite right."

0:03:36 > 0:03:39But Suzy Sue was stern and strong.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42She led them back where they belonged.

0:03:42 > 0:03:46She tucked them up, and then she read a book about going to bed.

0:03:47 > 0:03:51She hugged them all, and said goodnight.

0:03:51 > 0:03:56But just as she went to turn down the light, she had an idea,

0:03:56 > 0:04:01and suddenly said, "It's all very well, this going to bed,

0:04:01 > 0:04:04"but what really matters is falling asleep."

0:04:04 > 0:04:09"But that's the hardest part!" said the sheep.

0:04:09 > 0:04:11So Suzy Sue climbed in the bed.

0:04:13 > 0:04:15"What you have to do,"

0:04:15 > 0:04:20she said, "is feel how your bed is all comfy and cosy.

0:04:20 > 0:04:23"Feel how it makes you all drowsy and dozy.

0:04:24 > 0:04:28"Feel a safe, soothing softness beginning to spread,

0:04:28 > 0:04:33"from the tips of your toes, to the top of your head."

0:04:33 > 0:04:35"And all of your worries are wafting away,

0:04:35 > 0:04:39"like a bunch of balloons on a cloudless spring day.

0:04:41 > 0:04:45"And you're in a boat, floating downstream,

0:04:45 > 0:04:48"drifting away on a beautiful dream."

0:04:50 > 0:04:54In the silence that followed, you could hear a pin drop.

0:04:54 > 0:04:59"Go on," said the cow. "Please don't stop!"

0:04:59 > 0:05:03"Oh, dear," said the goat. "Oh, dear, oh, dear.

0:05:03 > 0:05:06"She's fallen asleep, but she can't sleep here."

0:05:06 > 0:05:09"She's hogging the bed!" "She's starting to snore!"

0:05:09 > 0:05:13"She'll keep us awake, it's happened before!"

0:05:13 > 0:05:15"Oh, silly Suzy Sue!" they said.

0:05:15 > 0:05:18"Come on, let's take you back to bed."

0:05:18 > 0:05:21See, each of us has our own place to rest.

0:05:21 > 0:05:23The mouse has a hole, the hen has a nest.

0:05:23 > 0:05:27The pig has a sty, it's smelly, but snug.

0:05:27 > 0:05:30The dog has his basket, the cat has her rug.

0:05:30 > 0:05:34They all have beds, and you do, too.

0:05:34 > 0:05:37So snuggle down, Suzy Sue.

0:05:39 > 0:05:43That was the story of Suzy Sue, safe in her own bed,

0:05:43 > 0:05:45like you should be, too.

0:05:46 > 0:05:50And that story was called A Bed Of Your Own.

0:05:50 > 0:05:53I'm glad the animals found their own beds,

0:05:53 > 0:05:55so Suzy Sue could get to sleep.

0:05:55 > 0:05:58Oh, and it's time for you to sleep right now, too.

0:05:58 > 0:06:03Just make sure there are no animals taking up space in your bed.

0:06:03 > 0:06:06Sleep well. I'll see you soon for another story.

0:06:06 > 0:06:08Night, night.

0:06:08 > 0:06:12Now then, is there room for me to sleep here? Let's see.

0:06:12 > 0:06:15Move that, move that over there...

0:06:15 > 0:06:19Move these books. Come on, Mr Panda.

0:06:19 > 0:06:21There we go.

0:06:21 > 0:06:24There we go, Mr Panda, Mr Lion, there we go.

0:06:24 > 0:06:28Ah, that's better! Ah, night, night!
