0:30:08 > 0:30:12Aww, swimming and reading, that sounds perfect!

0:30:12 > 0:30:16Oh, hello. I'm Tristan. My friend sent me a letter.

0:30:16 > 0:30:19She's been on holiday and wanted to tell me everything.

0:30:19 > 0:30:22It's nice to have friends to share things with.

0:30:22 > 0:30:27Mole, in tonight's Bedtime Story, has lots of friends.

0:30:27 > 0:30:31But there's something he really doesn't want to share.

0:30:31 > 0:30:34A secret! Shall we find out what it is?

0:30:34 > 0:30:38The story is by Jonathan Emmett and Vanessa Cabban.

0:30:38 > 0:30:42And it's called A Secret Worth Sharing.

0:30:43 > 0:30:46It was a beautiful summer day in the woodland.

0:30:46 > 0:30:49The birds were singing, the bees were buzzing,

0:30:49 > 0:30:54and the sun hung high in the sky like a bright golden coin.

0:30:55 > 0:31:00"The perfect day to go exploring!" decided Mole,

0:31:00 > 0:31:03and he set off to see what he could find.

0:31:03 > 0:31:07Mole was not used to being above ground.

0:31:07 > 0:31:10So, after a while, he had to stop for a rest.

0:31:10 > 0:31:12"H-hot diggity!" he puffed,

0:31:12 > 0:31:16sitting down against the side of a mossy stump.

0:31:16 > 0:31:21"Bugs and beetles!" said a squeaky voice. "Whatever's that?"

0:31:21 > 0:31:25Mole jumped up in surprise, and found a small, furry face

0:31:25 > 0:31:28peering at him through a hole in the stump.

0:31:30 > 0:31:33"H-hello," he said nervously.

0:31:33 > 0:31:35"Uh, uh, I'm Mole. Who are you?"

0:31:35 > 0:31:39"I'm Mouse," said the face,

0:31:39 > 0:31:43and gave Mole the sweetest smile he had ever seen.

0:31:43 > 0:31:47The stump was hollow, and Mouse had a nest inside it.

0:31:47 > 0:31:49It was a very nice nest,

0:31:49 > 0:31:52as Mole discovered when Mouse invited him in.

0:31:52 > 0:31:56Mole decided that Mouse was very nice too.

0:31:56 > 0:31:58And as he walked home that evening,

0:31:58 > 0:32:01he felt pleased with himself for having made a new friend.

0:32:01 > 0:32:06Mole had other friends, but they all knew each other.

0:32:06 > 0:32:09Now, he had a friend all of his own.

0:32:10 > 0:32:14"Mouse is my special friend," he told himself.

0:32:14 > 0:32:17And he decided to keep Mouse a secret,

0:32:17 > 0:32:21and not to tell anyone about her.

0:32:21 > 0:32:24Mole had never had a secret before. It was exciting,

0:32:24 > 0:32:27and he found it hard to think of anything else.

0:32:27 > 0:32:30So, he visited Mouse again the next day.

0:32:30 > 0:32:33And the day after.

0:32:33 > 0:32:35And the day after that.

0:32:35 > 0:32:38Mole spent so much time with Mouse

0:32:38 > 0:32:41that he didn't have time for his other friends.

0:32:41 > 0:32:44Squirrel, Hedgehog and Rabbit called round to see Mole,

0:32:44 > 0:32:47but he was never in his burrow.

0:32:47 > 0:32:49"Where is he?" wondered Squirrel.

0:32:49 > 0:32:53"And what's he up to?" wondered Hedgehog.

0:32:53 > 0:32:55"I hope he's all right," said Rabbit.

0:32:55 > 0:32:59One morning, just as Mole was hurrying off for another

0:32:59 > 0:33:04secret visit to Mouse, Rabbit, Hedgehog and Squirrel arrived.

0:33:04 > 0:33:08"Hello, Mole!" said Rabbit. "We haven't seen much of you recently,

0:33:08 > 0:33:10"so we thought we'd all pop round."

0:33:10 > 0:33:16Mole was disappointed at first. He wanted to see Mouse,

0:33:16 > 0:33:19but he couldn't tell his friends to go away.

0:33:19 > 0:33:21But once they got talking, he found himself

0:33:21 > 0:33:24enjoying their company as he always did.

0:33:24 > 0:33:28"So, Mole," said Rabbit, eventually.

0:33:28 > 0:33:30"What have you been up to?"

0:33:30 > 0:33:34Mole suddenly felt very embarrassed.

0:33:34 > 0:33:39"I-I-I don't know what you mean," he said. "I-I've only..."

0:33:39 > 0:33:42But before he could finish, he was interrupted.

0:33:42 > 0:33:48"Hello? Mole? "Are you down there?" called a voice from outside.

0:33:48 > 0:33:50- HE GASPS - It was Mouse!

0:33:50 > 0:33:54"I thought I might come and visit you for a change," she explained.

0:33:54 > 0:33:58Rabbit, Hedgehog and Squirrel were very surprised,

0:33:58 > 0:34:00but delighted to meet her.

0:34:00 > 0:34:03And Mouse soon made friends with all of them.

0:34:03 > 0:34:07But Mole looked rather unhappy.

0:34:07 > 0:34:11"What's wrong, Mole?" asked Rabbit.

0:34:11 > 0:34:15"Uh, M-Mouse was my special friend," said Mole glumly.

0:34:15 > 0:34:18"Now, I'll have to share her with everyone else."

0:34:18 > 0:34:22"But Mole!" said Mouse, giving Mole a hug,

0:34:22 > 0:34:25"I'm just as much your friend as ever!

0:34:25 > 0:34:28"Only now, I'm Rabbit's and Squirrel's

0:34:28 > 0:34:30"and Hedgehog's friend too."

0:34:30 > 0:34:34"Friendship is a special thing," explained Rabbit.

0:34:34 > 0:34:37"But one of the things that makes it special

0:34:37 > 0:34:41"is that the more you share it, the more you have."

0:34:41 > 0:34:44"I...didn't know that," said Mole.

0:34:44 > 0:34:49"So you were keeping me a secret?" smiled Mouse.

0:34:49 > 0:34:51Mole blushed.

0:34:51 > 0:34:54"I...suppose I was," he admitted.

0:34:54 > 0:34:56"But now I know better!"

0:34:56 > 0:35:02"You're a secret worth sharing!" beamed Mole.

0:35:03 > 0:35:06That story was called A Secret Worth Sharing.

0:35:06 > 0:35:09Mouse WAS a secret worth sharing, wasn't she?

0:35:09 > 0:35:14And Mole was very lucky to have such lovely friends.

0:35:14 > 0:35:18I think I'll write a letter to my friend about Mole.

0:35:18 > 0:35:22While I do, it's time for you to go to sleep.

0:35:22 > 0:35:25I'll see you soon for another Bedtime Story.

0:35:25 > 0:35:28Night-night, and sweet dreams.

0:35:28 > 0:35:32Right. Now where shall I start?
