0:00:07 > 0:00:10Now if I can just get these last two books in place,

0:00:10 > 0:00:13I will have built a lovely house.

0:00:14 > 0:00:16Oh!

0:00:16 > 0:00:18Whoops!

0:00:20 > 0:00:23Hello. My name's Frances.

0:00:23 > 0:00:26Did you see my story house crash to the floor?

0:00:26 > 0:00:29I don't know why it fell down.

0:00:29 > 0:00:33I've been trying to build this story house for ages,

0:00:33 > 0:00:35but every time I reach the last two books,

0:00:35 > 0:00:37I have to start again.

0:00:39 > 0:00:43I think I need to call the Beaver Builders.

0:00:44 > 0:00:45What?

0:00:45 > 0:00:49You've never heard of the Beaver Builders?!

0:00:49 > 0:00:54Well, let me introduce them in tonight's Bedtime Story.

0:00:54 > 0:00:56The story is by Inga Moore,

0:00:56 > 0:00:59and it's called A House In The Woods.

0:01:01 > 0:01:05A Little Pig had made a den for herself in the woods.

0:01:05 > 0:01:10Next door, another Little Pig had made himself a hut.

0:01:11 > 0:01:16One morning, the two Little Pigs went out walking together.

0:01:16 > 0:01:18One Little Pig found a feather,

0:01:18 > 0:01:21and the other found an interesting stick.

0:01:21 > 0:01:25But when the first Little Pig brought her feather home to the den,

0:01:25 > 0:01:28she discovered Bear had moved in,

0:01:28 > 0:01:32which she didn't mind because she liked Bear.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35Only Bear was so big!

0:01:35 > 0:01:39Oh dear! The den was wrecked.

0:01:39 > 0:01:43And when the second Little Pig went home to his hut with his stick,

0:01:43 > 0:01:46he discovered Moose had moved in,

0:01:46 > 0:01:50which he didn't mind either because he liked Moose,

0:01:50 > 0:01:52only Moose was even bigger than Bear!

0:01:52 > 0:01:56And when he stood up politely to say good morning...

0:01:57 > 0:02:00..the hut was also wrecked.

0:02:00 > 0:02:04Which left the two Little Pigs with nowhere to live.

0:02:04 > 0:02:06Not to mention Moose and Bear.

0:02:06 > 0:02:10And this was a pickle. It really was!

0:02:10 > 0:02:13Then Moose had a brilliant idea.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16Why not build a big house where they could all live together?

0:02:16 > 0:02:20Well, it was an exciting plan.

0:02:21 > 0:02:25Except that building a big house with real windows and doors,

0:02:25 > 0:02:30a roof, stairs and chimney stacks isn't easy.

0:02:30 > 0:02:33They couldn't do it on their own.

0:02:33 > 0:02:37So Moose called the Beavers on the telephone,

0:02:37 > 0:02:39and soon afterwards,

0:02:39 > 0:02:44a team of Beaver Builders came to help them with the work.

0:02:44 > 0:02:45The Beavers said...

0:02:47 > 0:02:51..if it was all right, they wish to be paid in peanut butter sandwiches,

0:02:51 > 0:02:54to which no one had any objection.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56So they felled the timber,

0:02:56 > 0:02:58and the work began.

0:02:58 > 0:03:02By lunchtime, the walls of the house were up,

0:03:02 > 0:03:05and by teatime, the roof was on.

0:03:05 > 0:03:08The lunch and teatimes were on different days, of course.

0:03:08 > 0:03:11Beavers are fast, but they're not THAT fast!

0:03:11 > 0:03:14Bear made the staircase and chimney stacks,

0:03:14 > 0:03:17while Moose fitted the windows and doors.

0:03:19 > 0:03:22Then they both went with the two Little Pigs to the junk yard

0:03:22 > 0:03:24for furniture and curtains

0:03:24 > 0:03:28and all those things that go inside a house.

0:03:30 > 0:03:32At last, the house was finished.

0:03:32 > 0:03:36The Beavers handed over their bill and left.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39There was just enough time to get to the store

0:03:39 > 0:03:41to buy the bread and peanut butter.

0:03:41 > 0:03:44Then the Little Pigs helped Moose and Bear

0:03:44 > 0:03:47make six plates of peanut butter sandwiches

0:03:47 > 0:03:50which they delivered in person to the Beavers

0:03:50 > 0:03:53who had all gone back to their lodge on the lake.

0:03:54 > 0:03:59Oh, it had been a busy time for the Little Pigs and Moose and Bear!

0:04:00 > 0:04:03They HAD worked hard, especially Bear.

0:04:05 > 0:04:07Had it been worth it?

0:04:08 > 0:04:10What do you think?

0:04:10 > 0:04:12Just look!

0:04:12 > 0:04:17What a beautiful new house they had to go home to!

0:04:17 > 0:04:22Bear went to bed first because she was SO tired.

0:04:22 > 0:04:26And after they had finished their supper and washed the dishes

0:04:26 > 0:04:29and told stories for a while round the fire,

0:04:29 > 0:04:33it was the turn of Moose and the two Little Pigs

0:04:33 > 0:04:35to climb the stairs to bed.

0:04:35 > 0:04:37Good Night, Bear.

0:04:37 > 0:04:40Good Night, Moose.

0:04:40 > 0:04:42Good night, Little Pigs.

0:04:43 > 0:04:45Sweet dreams, everyone.

0:04:48 > 0:04:50That story was called A House In The Woods.

0:04:50 > 0:04:55And now you know who the Beaver Builders are.

0:04:55 > 0:04:59Oh! I hope there's enough peanut butter to pay them to fix my house!

0:04:59 > 0:05:03I'll just check in the CBeebies kitchen.

0:05:03 > 0:05:07And while I do, it's time for you to go to bed,

0:05:07 > 0:05:11just like Bear, Moose and the Little Pigs.

0:05:13 > 0:05:15I hope you have sweet dreams, too.

0:05:15 > 0:05:17Night night.
