0:14:50 > 0:14:57.
0:15:05 > 0:15:09A bit more here for the fur.
0:15:09 > 0:15:12Make sure the ears are nice and pointy.
0:15:12 > 0:15:14Oh! Hello, I'm Rob.
0:15:14 > 0:15:16You've found me drawing.
0:15:16 > 0:15:19Do you know what this is a picture of?
0:15:19 > 0:15:21What do you mean, "You can't tell"?
0:15:21 > 0:15:22It's a dog.
0:15:22 > 0:15:25That's what it's meant to be.
0:15:25 > 0:15:28Do you think it looks more like a cat than a dog?
0:15:28 > 0:15:30Maybe a little bit like a wolf.
0:15:30 > 0:15:35I'm not sure. There's a picture of a dog in tonight's bedtime story.
0:15:35 > 0:15:37And he's not very well-drawn either.
0:15:37 > 0:15:43The story is by Emma Dodson and it's called Badly Drawn Dog.
0:15:44 > 0:15:48Badly Drawn Dog woke up one morning,
0:15:48 > 0:15:53looked at his reflection and decided he was tired of being badly drawn.
0:15:53 > 0:15:58He was scribbly, scrawly and sketchy round the eyes.
0:15:58 > 0:16:01He looked like one big smudge.
0:16:01 > 0:16:07Badly Drawn Dog walked into town to visit his friend Doodle the Poodle.
0:16:07 > 0:16:09Perhaps Doodle would cheer him up.
0:16:09 > 0:16:11One shop caught his eye.
0:16:11 > 0:16:17"Hmmm", he thought, "this is my chance to be drawn properly."
0:16:17 > 0:16:20Inside, beautiful portraits filled the walls.
0:16:20 > 0:16:23Each one was in a different style.
0:16:23 > 0:16:27"Ahem," coughed Badly Drawn Dog.
0:16:27 > 0:16:32"Yes," said the artist, "how may I help you?"
0:16:32 > 0:16:35Badly Drawn Dog explained abouthis scribliness,
0:16:35 > 0:16:38his scrawliness and his sketchiness round the eyes.
0:16:38 > 0:16:42He asked if the artist could draw him better.
0:16:42 > 0:16:44"But, of course," the artist replied,
0:16:44 > 0:16:46"I am very talented!"
0:16:46 > 0:16:51The artist began by rubbing out Badly Drawn Dog with a large rubber.
0:16:51 > 0:16:56Badly Drawn Dog began to wonder if he'd done the right thing.
0:16:56 > 0:16:59Then the artist set to work.
0:16:59 > 0:17:03Badly Drawn Dog stared at himself in the mirror.
0:17:03 > 0:17:07The artist said, "Monsieur, you look marvellous,
0:17:07 > 0:17:12"fabulous, wondrous, glorious, gorgeous!"
0:17:12 > 0:17:14Badly Drawn Dog thanked him
0:17:14 > 0:17:18and continued on his journey to see Doodle the Poodle.
0:17:18 > 0:17:22All of a sudden - BANG, SPLAT!
0:17:22 > 0:17:24He walked straight into a lamppost.
0:17:24 > 0:17:28"These eyes may take some getting used to," he thought.
0:17:28 > 0:17:32Further on, Badly Drawn Dog saw two boys playing.
0:17:32 > 0:17:34He wanted to join in.
0:17:34 > 0:17:36When the ball bounced towards him,
0:17:36 > 0:17:39Badly Drawn Dog kicked it as hard as he could.
0:17:39 > 0:17:42The ball burst - POP!
0:17:42 > 0:17:45His new feet were too sharp.
0:17:45 > 0:17:48The children were very sad.
0:17:48 > 0:17:50And Badly Drawn Dog felt terrible.
0:17:50 > 0:17:53Badly Drawn Dog went back to the artist
0:17:53 > 0:17:57and explained about the problems with his new style.
0:17:57 > 0:18:01He asked if he could be painted in something less pointy and sharp
0:18:01 > 0:18:03and with his eyes in the usual place, please.
0:18:03 > 0:18:08The artist thought for a moment and set to work.
0:18:08 > 0:18:12The artist did everything Badly Drawn Dog asked.
0:18:12 > 0:18:17He said Badly Drawn Dog was now remarkable, incredible,
0:18:17 > 0:18:21beautiful, wonderful, phenomenal and dazzling.
0:18:21 > 0:18:24Badly Drawn Dog felt happier
0:18:24 > 0:18:27and set out again for Doodle the Poodle's house.
0:18:27 > 0:18:31When he got there, Doodle the Poodle opened the door -
0:18:31 > 0:18:32and gasped!
0:18:32 > 0:18:35Then he quickly slammed it shut.
0:18:35 > 0:18:39Badly Drawn Dog shouted through the letterbox.
0:18:39 > 0:18:41"It's me - Badly Drawn Dog!
0:18:41 > 0:18:43"Open up, Doodle you noodle."
0:18:43 > 0:18:47Doodle peered suspiciously from his window.
0:18:47 > 0:18:49"What have you done to yourself?
0:18:49 > 0:18:52"You're just a lot of blobs and swirls."
0:18:52 > 0:18:57"Don't you think my new look is dazzling?" asked Badly Drawn Dog.
0:18:57 > 0:19:02"Er, yes," said Doodle, "but you hurt my eyes.
0:19:02 > 0:19:03"I'd better go."
0:19:03 > 0:19:07Badly Drawn Dog returned to the artist once again
0:19:07 > 0:19:11and asked if it would be possible to be painted in a less dazzling way.
0:19:11 > 0:19:13Perhaps something normal.
0:19:13 > 0:19:18"Huh, such a fussy Fido," the artist exclaimed
0:19:18 > 0:19:22and grumpily picked up his paintbrush.
0:19:22 > 0:19:26When he'd finished, Badly Drawn Dog looked in the mirror.
0:19:26 > 0:19:29"Oh, I really like this one," he said.
0:19:29 > 0:19:33"Yes, it is very popular," the artist agreed.
0:19:33 > 0:19:36Badly Drawn Dog decided to go home.
0:19:36 > 0:19:40Soon he saw a dog that looked just like him.
0:19:40 > 0:19:43Then he saw another and another.
0:19:43 > 0:19:46It seemed as if the whole world was full of dogs
0:19:46 > 0:19:48that all looked the same.
0:19:48 > 0:19:53When Badly Drawn Dog reached home, he found Doodle waiting for him.
0:19:53 > 0:19:58"What do you think of my new popular look?" he asked Doodle.
0:19:58 > 0:20:03"I saw 15 dogs who looked like you on my way here," Doodle replied.
0:20:03 > 0:20:08I liked you when you were scribbly, scrawly and sketchy round the eyes.
0:20:08 > 0:20:11"You were one big friendly smudge."
0:20:11 > 0:20:13Badly Drawn Dog was disappointed.
0:20:13 > 0:20:18"I know how we could get you back to being badly drawn, if you want,"
0:20:18 > 0:20:19said Doodle helpfully.
0:20:19 > 0:20:24And he took Badly Drawn Dog back to the little girl who created him.
0:20:24 > 0:20:28She scribbled and scrawled and sketched
0:20:28 > 0:20:30until he was his old self again -
0:20:30 > 0:20:34one big friendly smudge.
0:20:34 > 0:20:38And that story was called Badly Drawn Dog.
0:20:38 > 0:20:42Maybe my dog isn't so badly drawn after all.
0:20:42 > 0:20:45But maybe he should have four legs.
0:20:45 > 0:20:49Now, while I sort out my drawing, it's time for you to go to bed.
0:20:49 > 0:20:52I'll see you soon for another Bedtime Story.
0:20:52 > 0:20:56Now, then, if I add another line here...
0:20:56 > 0:20:59Yes, that's much better.
0:20:59 > 0:21:03Now it's a proper dog.
