0:19:16 > 0:19:18Hmm.

0:19:18 > 0:19:22Hello, I'm Phina. Can you help me, please?

0:19:22 > 0:19:26I'm looking for the CBeebies cat, but Buttons is hiding.

0:19:26 > 0:19:28I don't want him to miss tonight's bedtime story,

0:19:28 > 0:19:33as it's about one of his friends. He's a cat who wants an adventure.

0:19:33 > 0:19:35Let me tell you about him.

0:19:35 > 0:19:39The story's by Sam Lloyd, and it's called Mr Pusskins.

0:19:39 > 0:19:42This is the story of a little girl called Emily,

0:19:42 > 0:19:44and her dear cat, Mr Pusskins.

0:19:44 > 0:19:47Emily adored Mr Pusskins.

0:19:47 > 0:19:51Each morning, she would invent fun games for Mr Pusskins to play.

0:19:51 > 0:19:55In the afternoon, she'd brush his long fur coat, and tell him,

0:19:55 > 0:19:59"Oh, Mr Pusskins, what a handsome boy you are.

0:19:59 > 0:20:01"I do love you ever so much."

0:20:02 > 0:20:05Each night, Emily would snuggle up in bed

0:20:05 > 0:20:08and read Mr Pusskins a special story.

0:20:08 > 0:20:10But Mr Pusskins never listened.

0:20:10 > 0:20:15The girl's constant babbling, blah-di-blah, blah, blah,

0:20:15 > 0:20:17bored his whiskers off.

0:20:17 > 0:20:22He wanted more than this dull life. So, one night, he left.

0:20:22 > 0:20:25He went places he wasn't meant to go,

0:20:25 > 0:20:27did things he wasn't meant to do,

0:20:27 > 0:20:30and even made friends with The Pesky Cat Gang.

0:20:30 > 0:20:34Life without Emily was such naughty fun.

0:20:38 > 0:20:41But times passed, and things changed.

0:20:41 > 0:20:45The rain fell, and an icy wind blew.

0:20:45 > 0:20:49The things Mr Pusskins wasn't supposed to do weren't fun any more.

0:20:49 > 0:20:53And his new friends weren't really very nice.

0:20:53 > 0:20:56How lovely it would be to have someone to brush his fur

0:20:59 > 0:21:01He felt all alone.

0:21:13 > 0:21:16He stared at the photo.

0:21:16 > 0:21:19What a bad-tempered cat he looked!

0:21:19 > 0:21:24Emily had given him everything a cat could ever dream of,

0:21:24 > 0:21:28but he'd never been nice to her.

0:21:28 > 0:21:29How sorry he felt.

0:21:31 > 0:21:33Mr Pusskins found a phone box.

0:21:33 > 0:21:37He dialled the number from the poster, and he waited anxiously.

0:21:37 > 0:21:39Someone unanswered.

0:21:39 > 0:21:45"Miaow!" whispered Mr Pusskins, in a very sad little voice.

0:21:49 > 0:21:51"Wait there, I'll come and get you!"

0:21:51 > 0:21:55Mr Pusskins sat patiently.

0:21:55 > 0:21:58Would Emily find him?

0:21:58 > 0:22:01Did she still love him?

0:22:01 > 0:22:04He waited, and waited,

0:22:04 > 0:22:06but Emily didn't come.

0:22:06 > 0:22:10Then, from over the mountains, he heard a car.

0:22:10 > 0:22:13Mr Pusskins' heart leaped.

0:22:13 > 0:22:17It was Emily! His dear Emily coming for him!

0:22:17 > 0:22:21The car got nearer and nearer, and then...

0:22:21 > 0:22:23it sped straight past!

0:22:23 > 0:22:28"Miaow!" wailed Mr Pusskins.

0:22:28 > 0:22:31"Emily doesn't love me any more."

0:22:31 > 0:22:35But then, the car screeched to a halt,

0:22:35 > 0:22:38and Emily jumped out. "Mr Pusskins!

0:22:38 > 0:22:43"My beautiful Mr Pusskins!" she cried. "I didn't recognise you."

0:22:43 > 0:22:48She scooped up her dear cat. At last, they were together again.
