0:00:07 > 0:00:14Hello. My name is Floella, and I've nearly finished my knitting.

0:00:14 > 0:00:18Do you know what it is? I'll give you a clue.

0:00:18 > 0:00:22It'll keep you warm on a cold day.

0:00:22 > 0:00:24Have you guessed it yet?

0:00:24 > 0:00:28Yes, it's a blanket for Teddy.

0:00:28 > 0:00:30What do you think, Teddy?

0:00:30 > 0:00:33Well, in tonight's Bedtime Story,

0:00:33 > 0:00:37there's a bear who gets a lovely woolly present.

0:00:37 > 0:00:40The story is by David Melling

0:00:40 > 0:00:44and it's called Don't Worry, Hugless Douglas.

0:00:44 > 0:00:48'Douglas and his dad were playing.

0:00:48 > 0:00:52"What's behind your back?" asked Douglas.

0:00:52 > 0:00:55"Not that hand, the other one."

0:00:55 > 0:01:00'Dad smiled. "Something for you."

0:01:00 > 0:01:03'It was a new woolly hat.

0:01:03 > 0:01:08"Whoa!" said Douglas, "Thanks, Dad."

0:01:08 > 0:01:11'Douglas had never had a woolly hat before.

0:01:11 > 0:01:13'He couldn't wait to show it to his friends.

0:01:13 > 0:01:19"Look after it!" said Dad, but Douglas was off already.

0:01:20 > 0:01:24"Look at me!" shouted Douglas.

0:01:24 > 0:01:29"Mmm, snazzy hat, Douglas," baa'ed the sheep.

0:01:29 > 0:01:33"I can even do cartwheels in it!" he whooped. "Whoo!"

0:01:33 > 0:01:38'And he did it again and again and again...

0:01:38 > 0:01:43'until something didn't quite feel right.

0:01:43 > 0:01:45'Douglas gasped.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48'His new woolly hat had turned into

0:01:48 > 0:01:52'one long string of...

0:01:52 > 0:01:54'spaghetti!

0:01:54 > 0:02:00"Ooh! That's not supposed to happen!" he gulped.

0:02:00 > 0:02:06"Don't worry, Douglas," said the sheep. "We'll fix it."

0:02:06 > 0:02:13'They wound it into a ball and squashed it back into shape.

0:02:13 > 0:02:19"Any good?" they asked. "No!" said Douglas.

0:02:19 > 0:02:25"Oh, Cow is a good thinker," said the sheep.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28"She'll know what to do."

0:02:28 > 0:02:34"Hmm," Cow thought. She had a very good idea.

0:02:34 > 0:02:38"Mmm, pretty!" she said.

0:02:38 > 0:02:41"No," said Douglas.

0:02:41 > 0:02:45"Don't worry, Douglas," chirped a swoopy bird,

0:02:45 > 0:02:48"I can use this for my nest."

0:02:48 > 0:02:54"No, you can't! That's my new woolly hat!"

0:02:54 > 0:02:59"Hmm, doesn't look like a woolly hat," said the swoopy bird.

0:02:59 > 0:03:02"Anyway," he puffed, "it doesn't fit."

0:03:02 > 0:03:05'And he dropped it out of the tree.

0:03:05 > 0:03:09'Just then, it began to rain.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12'Douglas was really worried now.

0:03:12 > 0:03:17"What's my dad going to say?"

0:03:17 > 0:03:21'Rabbit popped up. "Hmm, thanks, Douglas.

0:03:21 > 0:03:25"Just what I need to plug the hole in my burrow."

0:03:25 > 0:03:28"That's my new woolly hat!

0:03:28 > 0:03:32"My dad gave it to me!"

0:03:32 > 0:03:36"Sorry," said Rabbit. "I didn't know.

0:03:36 > 0:03:38"Hmm, come here," she said.

0:03:38 > 0:03:40'And she wiped his nose.

0:03:42 > 0:03:46"What am I going to do?" sniffed Douglas.

0:03:46 > 0:03:49'Rabbit looked thoughtful.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52"Why don't you just tell your dad what happened?

0:03:52 > 0:03:56"He's nice, your dad. He'll understand."

0:03:57 > 0:04:00'Maybe Rabbit was right.

0:04:00 > 0:04:07'Douglas picked up his wet spaghetti hat and trudged back home.

0:04:07 > 0:04:12"Oh, Douglas, look at you.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16"Where's your new hat?" asked his dad.

0:04:16 > 0:04:19'Douglas told them everything.

0:04:19 > 0:04:23"Hmm, don't worry, Douglas," said his dad.

0:04:23 > 0:04:26"I've got something for you.

0:04:26 > 0:04:31"Guess which hand." Douglas wasn't sure.

0:04:32 > 0:04:37"Ha-ha-ha, here's my hat," laughed Dad.

0:04:37 > 0:04:40"You'll soon grow into it."

0:04:41 > 0:04:46That story was called Don't Worry, Hugless Douglas.

0:04:46 > 0:04:50So, there are lots of different things you can do

0:04:50 > 0:04:53with a ball of wool.

0:04:53 > 0:04:58And I think I like the idea of knitting a nice woolly hat too.

0:04:58 > 0:05:02While I start that, I think it's time for you to go off to bed

0:05:02 > 0:05:06to be warm and cosy, and I'll see you soon for another story.

0:05:06 > 0:05:09Night-night. Sweet dreams.
