0:00:13 > 0:00:19My name is Floella and I'm counting the twinkly stars in the night sky.
0:00:19 > 0:00:23How many can you see? Quite a lot, aren't there?
0:00:23 > 0:00:26I love seeing the twinkly stars and the big, bright,
0:00:26 > 0:00:29shiny moon high up in the sky.
0:00:29 > 0:00:32But in tonight's bedtime story,

0:00:39 > 0:00:44that happen in the night sky, so that he doesn't get too afraid.
0:00:44 > 0:00:48The story is by Karen Saunders and Dubravka Kolanovic.
0:00:48 > 0:00:53It's called Baby Badger's Wonderful Night.

0:01:39 > 0:01:44"Look more closely", said Papa Badger.
0:01:44 > 0:01:51"There are many other colours too, like blue and purple and silver."
0:01:53 > 0:02:00Baby Badger saw all the colours of the night and felt a bit better.
0:02:01 > 0:02:07Up in the sky, tiny stars were sparkling.
0:02:07 > 0:02:11"Why do they shine?" asked Baby Badger.
0:02:11 > 0:02:14"They light up the night", said Papa Badger.
0:02:14 > 0:02:16"And stop us feeling alone."
0:02:18 > 0:02:25Baby Badger gazed at the stars, which twinkled back at him.
0:02:25 > 0:02:31"What if I get lost in the dark?" asked Baby Badger.
0:02:31 > 0:02:37"The North Star will always guide you back home",
0:02:37 > 0:02:41said Papa Badger pointing to the brightest star of them all.
0:02:41 > 0:02:48Baby Badger looked at the shining star and knew he was safe.
0:02:51 > 0:02:56Suddenly, above their heads, a shooting star lit up the sky.
0:02:56 > 0:03:00"Quickly, close your eyes and make a wish", said Papa Badger.
0:03:00 > 0:03:08Baby Badger squeezed his eyes shut and wished very hard.
0:03:08 > 0:03:14"Now do you see there's no need to be afraid?" said Papa Badger.
0:03:14 > 0:03:18Baby Badger yawned and cuddled up next to him.
0:03:19 > 0:03:23"The night is magical", he murmured.
0:03:23 > 0:03:30"It's full of stars and colours and wishes."
0:03:30 > 0:03:32Away in the distance,
0:03:32 > 0:03:36the first ray of morning was spreading across the fields.
0:03:36 > 0:03:41Next to Papa Badger, Baby Badger felt safe and warm.
0:03:41 > 0:03:46Slowly his eyes closed.
0:03:46 > 0:03:48"Come on, little one",
0:03:48 > 0:03:52Papa Badger said softly, "It's time to go home."
0:03:52 > 0:03:55He scooped Baby Badger into his arms
0:03:55 > 0:03:59and carried him back through the woods to bed.
