0:38:50 > 0:38:57.
0:39:06 > 0:39:10There we are, Teddy. Oh, that's lovely! What was that?
0:39:10 > 0:39:15You'd like some more sparkles in the house? Really? Hello, I'm Floella.
0:39:15 > 0:39:20But Teddy, I think there are plenty of sparkles around in the house
0:39:20 > 0:39:21already, don't you?
0:39:22 > 0:39:26You know, Teddy, you remind me of tonight's bedtime story,
0:39:26 > 0:39:30where there's a very demanding princess who never takes
0:39:30 > 0:39:33no for an answer!
0:39:34 > 0:39:37The story is by Tracey Corderoy and Kate Leake,
0:39:37 > 0:39:42and it's called Never Say No to a Princess!
0:39:42 > 0:39:47The Little Princess wore a big, sparkly tiara.
0:39:47 > 0:39:50She slept in a big, sparkly bed.
0:39:50 > 0:39:55Her big, sparkly wardrobe was bursting with sparkly dresses,
0:39:55 > 0:39:59and her toybox was filled with sparkly toys.
0:39:59 > 0:40:04You see, the Little Princess got everything she wanted.
0:40:04 > 0:40:10But nothing ever seemed to make her smile.
0:40:10 > 0:40:14"Ice cream!" she shouted. "I want ice cream NOW!
0:40:14 > 0:40:19"And it better be good or else I'll cry!"
0:40:19 > 0:40:22"Quick!" said her daddy, who was busy being King.
0:40:22 > 0:40:25"Or else she'll cry!"
0:40:25 > 0:40:31"Ponies!" bellowed the Little Princess. "I want ponies NOW!"
0:40:31 > 0:40:34"Quick!" said her mummy, who was busy being Queen.
0:40:34 > 0:40:37"Or else she'll cry!"
0:40:37 > 0:40:41So pony after pony was led from the royal stables.
0:40:41 > 0:40:46But the Little Princess simply shook her head. "Too frisky! Too twinkly!
0:40:46 > 0:40:48"Yuck! Too sweet!" she cried.
0:40:48 > 0:40:51"And that one doing ballet is a show-off!"
0:40:53 > 0:41:00Then one morning, at breakfast time, a big, green dragon flew by.
0:41:01 > 0:41:05"Dragon!" yelled the Little Princess.
0:41:05 > 0:41:09"I want that dragon NOW! Get it!
0:41:09 > 0:41:14"Catch it! Now, now, now! Or else I'll cry!"
0:41:14 > 0:41:20"Quick!" said the royal servants. "Or else she'll cry!"
0:41:20 > 0:41:24"Swish, swish, swish!" went the royal nets,
0:41:24 > 0:41:27but the dragon just wouldn't be caught.
0:41:27 > 0:41:32So the Little Princess tossed back her head, took a deep breath
0:41:32 > 0:41:35and cried.
0:41:36 > 0:41:41By lunchtime, a river of twinkling tears gushed through the big,
0:41:41 > 0:41:43sparkly palace.
0:41:43 > 0:41:47By teatime, it was an ocean. By bedtime, the palace went...
0:41:49 > 0:41:50"Whoosh!"
0:41:50 > 0:41:54went the gurgling water as it swept the Little Princess far,
0:41:54 > 0:41:56far away from home.
0:41:58 > 0:42:06She found herself all alone in a gloomy wood. Her tiara was bent.
0:42:06 > 0:42:11Her dress was torn. She'd never been less sparkly.
0:42:11 > 0:42:18"I want my mummy and daddy!" sniffed the Little Princess.
0:42:18 > 0:42:25Just then, she heard a "Swoosh!" in the dark night sky.
0:42:25 > 0:42:29The air above her head grew warm.
0:42:29 > 0:42:36And there, swooping down through the twinkly stars was the dragon!
0:42:38 > 0:42:42"Dragon!" bellowed the Little Princess.
0:42:42 > 0:42:48"Take me to my mummy and daddy!" The dragon raised an eyebrow.
0:42:50 > 0:42:55"What's the magic word?" The Little Princess thought for a moment.
0:42:57 > 0:43:02"Oh, yes!" she cried. "Take me to my mummy and daddy...
0:43:02 > 0:43:03"NOW!"
0:43:05 > 0:43:10"That's not the magic word," said the dragon.
0:43:10 > 0:43:15"Right!" said the Little Princess. "I'm going to cry!" And she did.
0:43:19 > 0:43:25The dragon dried her tears with one blast of hot air from his nose.
0:43:27 > 0:43:31Then he swished off into the cave and shut the door.
0:43:34 > 0:43:38The Little Princess was puzzled. Crying usually worked a treat.
0:43:38 > 0:43:42She wondered what the magic word could be.
0:43:42 > 0:43:46Then she remembered a word she'd heard a long time ago.
0:43:48 > 0:43:53She tiptoed up to the dragon's cave and tapped on the door.
0:43:55 > 0:44:02"Will you t-t-take me to my m-m-mummy and d-d-daddy...
0:44:04 > 0:44:08"..please?" shivered the Little Princess.
0:44:08 > 0:44:11"Certainly!" smiled the dragon.
0:44:11 > 0:44:14"But first, we need to get you warm and dry."
0:44:15 > 0:44:19The dragon lit a roaring fire,
0:44:19 > 0:44:25and they huddled in the orange glow until the princess felt much better.
0:44:26 > 0:44:29"Time to go home," said the dragon.
0:44:30 > 0:44:35"Yes, please," said the Little Princess.
0:44:35 > 0:44:39So back they flew, through the starry night.
0:44:41 > 0:44:47When the Little Princess awoke, the dragon was gone!
0:44:48 > 0:44:52But her mummy and daddy were SO pleased to see her.
0:44:52 > 0:44:55"Oh, oh! But darling!" gasped the Queen.
0:44:55 > 0:44:58"We don't have any sparkly things for you!"
0:44:58 > 0:45:03The royal footman coughed politely and handed her a catalogue.
0:45:05 > 0:45:11"Your Majesty's favourite, Sparkly Things for Princesses."
0:45:11 > 0:45:14"What would you like?" beamed the King.
0:45:14 > 0:45:18"I'd like to invite a friend to play, please,"
0:45:18 > 0:45:20said the Little Princess.
0:45:20 > 0:45:26"A friend?" said the King. "A friend?" said the Queen.
0:45:26 > 0:45:31"But there aren't any other Little Princesses for miles around."
0:45:31 > 0:45:36"This is a special friend," said the Little Princess.
0:45:36 > 0:45:41She wrote an invitation in her very best handwriting,
0:45:41 > 0:45:44and the royal servant set off to deliver it.
0:45:46 > 0:45:50The Little Princess's special friend wasn't quite what the King
0:45:50 > 0:45:52and Queen were expecting.
0:45:52 > 0:45:55His table manners left a LOT to be desired!
0:45:57 > 0:46:04But as they ate their sparkly tea, the King noticed something strange.
0:46:04 > 0:46:06"Do you think," he said to the Queen,
0:46:06 > 0:46:11"our Little Princess looks different?"
0:46:11 > 0:46:14The Queen peered through the royal binoculars.
0:46:14 > 0:46:18"Heavens!" she gasped. "You're right!
0:46:18 > 0:46:23"Is she? No!"
0:46:23 > 0:46:27"Yes!" cried the King. "She is!
0:46:27 > 0:46:30"She's smiling!"
0:46:30 > 0:46:35And the Little Princess kept smiling all day long.
0:46:36 > 0:46:41That story was called Never Say No to a Princess!
0:46:41 > 0:46:43So you see, Teddy, sometimes,
0:46:43 > 0:46:46all you need is a friend to make you happy.
0:46:46 > 0:46:49And didn't the princess look pretty when she smiled?
0:46:49 > 0:46:53Come on! Give us a smile, Teddy!
0:46:53 > 0:46:55Well, I hope that story made YOU smile, too.
0:46:55 > 0:46:57And now, it's time to go to bed.
0:46:57 > 0:47:00And I'll see you soon for another bedtime story.
0:47:00 > 0:47:02Night-night! Sweet dreams!
