0:57:15 > 0:57:18Farmer Joe in tonight's bedtime story plays music to

0:57:28 > 0:57:30Down on the farm of poor old Joe,

0:57:30 > 0:57:33the hens won't lay and the crops won't grow.

0:57:33 > 0:57:35The cows won't graze and the pigs won't feed

0:57:35 > 0:57:39and Joe just can't think what they need.

0:57:39 > 0:57:41Suddenly Joe has a bright idea.

0:57:41 > 0:57:43Music has the power to cheer.

0:57:43 > 0:57:46He puts on his hat and yells, "Yee-haa!"

0:57:46 > 0:57:50Then he starts to pluck on his old guitar.

0:57:50 > 0:57:53Pluck-pluck, plick-plick, diddle-aye-oh.

0:57:53 > 0:57:55Listen to the picking of Farmer Joe.

0:57:55 > 0:57:58The hens start flapping and clucking away.

0:57:58 > 0:58:01They all sit down and start to lay.

0:58:01 > 0:58:03Along the trail comes frisky Fox.

0:58:03 > 0:58:07He pulls out a fiddle from the battered old box.

0:58:07 > 0:58:09He tunes the strings and he lifts the bow,

0:58:09 > 0:58:12then he fiddles to the picking of Farmer Joe.

0:58:12 > 0:58:15Pluck-pluck, plick-plick, yiddle-yiddle-yiddle,

0:58:15 > 0:58:20Joe on guitar and Fox on the fiddle, playing it nifty, playing it neat

0:58:20 > 0:58:23till the pigs start scoffing to the music's beat.

0:58:23 > 0:58:25Out of a burrow popped two big ears.

0:58:25 > 0:58:28Rabbit just loves that stuff she hears.

0:58:28 > 0:58:33She hops from a hole and starts to play on a concertina right away.

0:58:35 > 0:58:37Concertina, whee-hee-hah.

0:58:37 > 0:58:41Skiddle-dee-fiddle and old guitar.

0:58:41 > 0:58:43The crops like the music, my-oh-my.

0:58:43 > 0:58:45Look at them stretching up to the sky.

0:58:47 > 0:58:50Now what's that rumbling, grumbling sound?

0:58:50 > 0:58:53Something big is stumbling round.

0:58:53 > 0:58:55Soon we'll see it face to face.

0:58:55 > 0:58:58Wow, it's a bear with a double bass!

0:58:59 > 0:59:02Doom-doom-doo and a woo-woo-wum,

0:59:02 > 0:59:04Bear's bass booms with a deep low thrum.

0:59:04 > 0:59:07The bass makes a buzz and the day looks sunny

0:59:07 > 0:59:11so out come the bees humming, "Let's make honey!"

0:59:11 > 0:59:13Joe's on guitar with Fox on the fiddle.

0:59:13 > 0:59:16Rabbit's concertina fits in the middle.

0:59:16 > 0:59:18The bees go buzz as they hum around

0:59:18 > 0:59:22and Bear's bass booms as he stomps on the ground.

0:59:22 > 0:59:24Bull wakes up, what's this he hears?

0:59:24 > 0:59:28"Herd," he bellow, "Now lift your ears."

0:59:28 > 0:59:30The cows start mooing as the music plays,

0:59:30 > 0:59:34then they click their hoofs as they bend to graze.

0:59:34 > 0:59:35The creatures caper,

0:59:35 > 0:59:39look at them go to the thrill of the hillbilly music show.

0:59:39 > 0:59:41They jump and jive, they leap and bound,

0:59:41 > 0:59:44they love the rhythm of the country sound,

0:59:44 > 0:59:46but now it's hot and the sun rides high

0:59:46 > 0:59:49and the heat beats down from the big blue sky.

0:59:49 > 0:59:52What will they do now? What do you think?

0:59:52 > 0:59:54Sprawl in the shade with a nice cool drink,

0:59:54 > 0:59:58and Farmer Joe can smile and strum and say,

0:59:58 > 1:00:02"Just let those sweet tunes come. No need to mope and moan around.

1:00:02 > 1:00:05"We've found the power of music sound.

1:00:05 > 1:00:09"If the pigs won't feed and the hens won't lay,

1:00:09 > 1:00:12"I'll get my little old band to play."

1:00:12 > 1:00:15He thanks his friends for the good they've done,

1:00:15 > 1:00:17then they play some more now just for fun.

1:00:17 > 1:00:19So down on the farm of clever old Joe,

1:00:19 > 1:00:22the hens all lay and the crops all grow.

1:00:22 > 1:00:24The cows all graze and the pigs all feed

1:00:24 > 1:00:27as Joe knows just the thing they need.
